Also the fact that like Nani is pressured into giving up custody for Lilo because she doesn’t have insurance and can’t afford the hospital bill and she’s coerced into signing because then the state will cover it. I’m supposed to find that a heart warming moment when the social worker is showing that she cares about Nani and Lilo? Really? How is that not just financial coercion? How is that just not a criticism of the health care industry in America (that I’m sure they didn’t mean to do on purpose)

Also it’s so blatantly obvious how the writers of this movie have no idea why Nani sings Aloha 'Oe to Lilo the night she finds out she is going to be taken away. A YouTuber named Sideways, who analyzes music in film(and has done a whole video about how Disney’s live action remakes don’t work musically years before this) explained that scene so beautifully.

How the sond Aloha 'Oe was originally written by the Queen of Hawaii for the people of Hawaii after American Colonizers forced her to surrender the Islands. How she performed it as a last goodbye for the country that was being taken away from her. And that mirrors how Lilo is now being taken away from Nani by colonial forces (even tho Cobra Bubbles does mean well and sympathizes lilo is still being given into the care of the US government) and this is her subtle goodbye to her. And it’s fucking brilliant and you can tell that that scene was written by people that fucking care and know what the fuck kind of movie they are writing. The scene is solemn and is treated as such. Nani sings it as tho it were a lullaby and a final goodbye. It’s the first time the song is sang in the movie because the writers actually understand the gravity of it.

Instead what we get in the live action is lilo first singing it to Stitch randomly while doing (I think maybe the accompanying?) Hula because why the fuck not. And then a lifeless dark scene where Nani plays the ukulele and sings to her like the fact that she had just been coerced into giving up her sister wasn’t just treated like a good and final decision. Because, why the fuck not.

Still thinking about Gortash’s coronation and how smoothly he cuts a Durge off from their companions (and wishing we had a follow up with that)

The first words out of his mouth are that he cares about them- anybody else who remembers Durge has only distain for them, but not him- he’s happy to see them, he missed them, they’re his favorite assassin and he’s only glad to see them alive

And then he takes it a step further by providing insight into their past, something Ketheric refused to do for them- and Gortash isn’t dumb. He knows exactly how Durge’s companions will react, knows that he’s effectively outing Durge when he so easily could have pulled them to the side instead

And when their companions snap at them and refuse to look at them, Gortash is still smiling. Suddenly, he’s the nicest person in the room. Suddenly, everything is unstable and dangerous- but he likes you. He’s sitting there with open arms while the companions are rightfully so mad with Durge, but Gortash is more than happy to resume their alliance

He’s more than happy to be their sole source of comfort again, and isn’t he just so sweet for that?

De-aged Dick Grayson fics are good, specially when we get the reaction of others who hadn't met him when he was still a young Robin, but there's a lot that get one thing wrong and it's when they forget Dick wasn't a normal 8-12 yo kid. And I'm saying this because I've read quite a few in which Dick was too dumbed down. And, I mean, I get it, of course he isn't going to be as good as he will be in the future, but one's gotta consider the fact that this kid was solving cases back and forth with the Batman; fighting wasn't the only thing he was good at. He helped Bruce to find clues and leads and despite not having the same amount of training Bruce had, he was very competent at it.

Like, think about how this is the same kid that, when he was about 11 years old, infiltrated without any help in a school for young assassins and managed to stay undercover for a while before he was discovered only for sneaking out to give Bruce the information he collected.

And on top of all that, he wasn't much older when he was already leading the Teen Titans. I'd say he was around 13-14 yo in the original team (I can't find sources that indicate a specific age, so I'm just going with what it looked like to me).

All of this takes knowledge, undercover and leadership skills. He was both intelligent and wise. He wasn't your average youngster.

In conclusion, if you're writing child Dick Grayson, don't make him helpless or incompetent. He can act his age, but his skills can rival those of adults. He's smart, agile and adaptable, and that's been that way since his early days to the present.

Only Chris denies Pete (while he thrones over him) and eventually leaves Pete to brood alone in his depression cave condo.

While Kim and Kenta actually share a meal as equals with Kim leaning towards Kenta to feed him (in a refreshingly normal and welcoming condo).

Yesterday Barça had more misplaced passes, the ball possession percentage was almost equal - normally it probably should've been 30-70 for Barça. Especially in games like these, with high pressure, you need players who are crucial on the ball, players who find solutions for you. Which is why the lineup surprised me. Obviously, the reason was probably to rest him, but for a game like this, where you can expect Dortmund to press a lot, to attack high, you need those players who will give you solutions, so it surprised me a lot that Pedri didn't start. Probably had other reasons, he has played so much recently, but he is such a decisive player, with him, this could've been a very different game. He was made for a game like this. Pedri, in general, is a player who you'll miss when he is not playing, no matter against whom, because of what he gives you, but especially yesterday. He not only scores goals, he doesn't only assist goals. He gives you solutions. I had a look at what Pedri is doing this season, and in the Champions League alone, he outplays 52 opponents per game, which makes him better than 91 percent of all other players in his position. He beats eleven defenders per game - which is the biggest difficulty for a midfielder - making him better than 97 percent of all other players in his position. In La Liga, it's even more extreme, he overplays 59 opponents per game, which makes him better than 97 percent of all La Liga players in his position – and twelve defenders per game, which is a huge amount. He's better than 100 percent there, which means he's the best. And if you're missing a player like that, you will notice it. And outplaying doesn't always mean with a pass, most of the time it does. But Pedri is one of very few midfielders in this position who has the gift of being able to outplay someone with a dribble in tight spaces. It's actually the ultimate skill; you can outplay an opponent with just one pass. Or with a short dribble. It solves situations where you are being pressed, like Dortmund were doing it yesterday. something that drives me super crazy forever and always is the “do you want to hear my story?” / “yes. yes!” exchange. like, daniel is in every way a hostage of that situation. he’s going to say he thinks armand is interesting! he’s going to agree to anything armand presents to him because he’s hoping armand will show him just a little bit of mercy. i think armand must know this, even though he’s asking these questions out of desperation rather than some test. it’s not an uncommon thing to armand, the vampire who likes the hunt. likes to have humans as his mercy the way he has daniel. but i like to think that, while daniel agreed because he felt he had no other choice, he also agreed because it was the truth. armand can read minds and he thinks that’s awesome. daniel wants to hear his story because he thinks armand is interesting, and he wants to hear the stories of people he thinks are interesting. i like to think that armand took a peek inside daniel’s mind, expecting to see nothing more than fear and survival instinct. he sees those things, but more than that he sees truth. genuine curiosity. daniel, given the choice, would want to know him. that’s why, for a moment, he gives in — tells daniel his first memory. that’s why, to armand, he’s so fascinating.

Full government name is Vanida Thompson

Born from an ongoing sexual affair between her mother who was an unnamed sex worker & her father, an infamous underground fighter / thug

Her father & Bailey grew up in the Orphanage together and were childhood friends ( & maybe more ); before her father was arrested for killing her mother when she was only 3yrs of age

Vanida has no idea who her parents are, and her father's connection with Bailey

Originally, was someone very sweet. A bit clumsy in her execution, but was someone very earnest and determined. Never wanted to exclude anyone and tried becoming friends with everyone.

Had a big baby crush on Sydney that helped her power through horrors ( unknown to Sydney who was still in the closet ), but also made her spiral more when things kept getting worse ( "An angel like her would never date someone filthy like me." )

Thought Avery was into her at first, and was very excited about being noticed by her until she realized that Avery bought her from Bailey

Used to work vigorously at the Cafe until she passed out, got recommended for therapy by Harper. Never went to a single appointment because she kept forgetting due to work. She never misses a single payment!!

Lost her virginity to the nun at the Temple when she was trying to get lichen for the Science Fair. Now, she hates the Temple with a burning passion and thinks they are the worst

Kept getting assaulted so much, that she succumbed for a bit; becoming a sex worker at the Brothel since "might as well make money off of it"

( Vanida also earned a gun kink )

Is now Whitney's number 1 ride or die. Wanting to please her so much, while also wanting to take a page from her book on riding the chaos, that Vanida changed her whole look & personality ( sorta ) (( this is how we got Vanida of today ))

Presents herself now as someone very chatty & sociable. Charming and almost ditzy-like with how she giggles and smiles to make people like her. She still is writhing and rolling around in her hatred and anger under her mask. She hates, or resents, almost everyone. Has become someone extremely mean-spirited.

Decided to use her body for something more productive, and that's by using her sex to have almost the entire town at her beck & call. Most will do anything to just have a chance with her, and Vanida takes full abuse of it. Her demonic transformation really helps with this.

Sees all relationships as transactional & only develops bonds that she thinks will provide use for her ( either socially, or protection ). As a result, it is almost near impossible for Vanida to cultivate a normal, healthy bond with others that is genuine.

The only ones she has a semi-normal bond is Bailey and Niki, because they both are upfront with their intentions with her, and don't seek her out sexually.

HC that she gets into a lot of yelling fights with Bailey, resulting in getting her ass beat by him. It's how they father-daughter bond

Loves going to 'parties' with Avery, because the more secrets she knows, the more she can use them for her own benefit. Knowledge is power ♡

A top student, with big popularity. The town calls her Venus, the criminal underground call her Sabre

The Underground Farm has tried kidnapping her, but she always manages to escape somehow. Remy just admit you're obsessed with her-/j

Her end goal is to have total control of the entire town for the sole reason to humiliate everyone in power for letting a "slut" have power over them. Bailey is somehow spared in this plan because Vanida has a soft spot for him, because he was the only person to check on her when she'd crash out in early gameplay. Even if all he did was yell at her.

Some rambling about Tailmon's and Caedemon's complicated relationship in Aurora below~

Tailmon and Caedemon are two of some of the oldest Digimon aligned with both their own and mankind in Aurora, and their relationship goes far back to the very genesis of the Digital World.

As Huanglongmon's creations and members of the Archangels, both of them served them and the four Great Beasts as guardians of their world, alongside the other eight of their kind. For thousands of years, they were the guiding light for all the other Digimon to look up to, until Lucemon's betrayal, and the other six Archangels siding with him. Having discovered what would later become known as the Dark Area - an eldritch, mysterious and volatile dimension existing apart from the Digital and human worlds, yet intertwined with them - he chose to keep it secret, and, in time, his own desires, made worse by the influence of the Area, made him turn against his world and creators. The six others that succumbed to it all the same chose to follow their leader, and nearly laid waste to the Digital World by breaching the dimensional walls and unleashing the Area upon it, but were ultimately stopped by the remaining three Archangels, the world's inhabitants, and Huanglongmon's ultimate sacrifice to seal the Dark Area away, along with the traitors.

Ophanimon perished in those battles, but was reborn in the far future, though without memories of her past.

It was the actions of mankind that called her to action once more, and what awakened Caedemon from his eternal slumber deep within the Dark Area. It was when humans, upon discovering its existence, breached it in an attempt to take control of its powers and Caedemon himself - and sealed the fate of both worlds.

Caedemon, like his brethren, was never meant to be awakened, and Tailmon was mortified upon eventually figuring out the identity of the decaying beast. In her eyes, rightfully, not only was he a traitor, but also even alone a serious danger to both worlds, having become part of the Dark Area itself, but he was also absolutely not fit to be a Tamer's Digimon, especially to a child.

Caedemon initially also did little to soothe her concerns, even with her disdain and suspicions for him obvious, as he exhibited a selfish, troubled and nihilistic personality, caring little for their own kind, and consistently questioning whether or not humanity is even worth saving, with all they've learned about it - a big contrast to her more optimistic outlook on things, a love for all living beings, and a desire to seek out good in everyone, even to the detriment of herself and others.

Though they do eventually mend their once broken friendship, it takes a long time for things to get better, and a lot of change ( namely for Caedemon ) for them to find a way to complement each other in working together - two beings plucked from past long gone - to guide both worlds into a better future.
