We don't talk enough about how well ALL of the Vees know and care about each other so much, like--

We first see them when Velvette is calling Vox about Val being upset in ep 2, but there's no way he would have asked for the help himself. Like he's not gonna be like "hey get Vox for me I need him" because that seems too vulnerable, BUT he was expecting Vox to come.

He literally says "Fuckin' finally!"

Which would either mean that Velvette told him Vox is on his way, OR Val knew Velvette would tell Vox to come. (It is possible he expected it because of the cameras, but Vox didn't seem to know Val was throwing a tantrum until Velvette called him, and Vox's plan for the day seemed to involve multiple meetings, so I don't think he watches the cameras often enough for that.)

Also Velvette knew how to calm Valentino down. She was busy with a fashion show and needed to focus on that, and she was mad that Val was wrecking her shit, but even after he was out of her hair and not a problem to her, she repeated to Vox that he needs to go take care of Val.

"Take care of the piss baby!"

I 100% believe she could have done it herself (she probably did partly?? considering he stopped the tantrum and was in his room before Vox got there-- unless her telling Val that Vox was on his way was what did it, but that would still be something she knew to do), but she had a show to run. Still, she wasn't going to leave Val alone to be moping around.

Also the fact Valentino seems to have some level of control over his smoke implies he wanted to be dramatic as fuck or wanted to hide himself and sat in a cloud of smoke on purpose.

Vox obviously knows how to talk Val out of shit, and canon makes it more clear that he understands Val well.

But overall there's obvious intimacy between all three of the Vees in that they care for each other and know exactly what's needed and/or what will happen in situations like that.

yes. maybe. sort of.

- grew up satanist, both of his parents were involved in the church but not the los angeles chapter. was more familiar with older forms of satanic worship before the church was modernized after the passing of papa -1 and the convent aligned more with puritan depictions of satanism (very ritualistic and coven-like, the sort of stuff that imperator preaches about which is why they get along so well later in life). is the oldest child and has a younger sister. doesn’t really talk to his family much anymore at no fault of any of them, he’s just a busy guy and it caused a bit of a drift in those relationships.

- met sister imperator when they were both novitiates after he was moved to the LA seminary (within the abbey there). the combined power of their autism and love of satan made them as close as they could be. sister wouldn’t take her vows for another year after psaltarian became a priest but they remained close and definitely were discussing their visions for the church privately until they both would eventually take up clergy positions.

- actually was a priest at the LA chapter for a decent amount of time (pre-nihil) before he was eventually pushed into the more archivist position he still works as now. a wise man here on tumblr dot com once pointed out that psaltarian’s name implies that he’s a historian-esque figure or at least is just aware of everything happening. he’s lurking and he’s stalking when you least expect it i guess (?)

- adding on 2 that. he’s manipulative in a really quiet way, it’s got an air of subtlety that sister imperator doesn’t have. psaltarian doesn’t Pretend to be people’s friends, he literally dgaf about what others think of him but he is very good at presenting himself as a trustworthy figure which makes it easy for people to open up to him. which is most often against his will but whatever. you know damn well he didn’t want to hear nihil writing a dumbass breakup track but it helped him become aware of her sudden disappearance which would be of interest to the unseen clergy (satan himself probably. maybe. if the olde one has enough time to give sister a get well call i assume he could be in cahoots with psaltarian)

- he’s a victim of resting bitch face, he isn’t always that stern. has a physical aversion to touch but there’s a part of him that does want that sort of intimacy, it just takes more work for him to be fine with it mentally.

- for 60s music i use the wanderer by dion (elaboration in the next section) for psaltarian inspo but for modern music i think the devil (didn’t make me do it) by twin temple is a good song for him.

- i need to clarify that psaltarian is as much of a fuckboy as nihil is. but he actually uses his brain which is where they’re different. i think he has a harder time forming attachments so he isn’t doing whatever villainous bs nihil is on by having several girlfriends at once. he’ll have the occasional fuck buddy he convenes with whenever the mood strikes him and semi-frequent sporadic hookups when he’s at a bar or orgy or whatever the hell satanic social events look like for the ghost church. anyways he fucks and sucks but he is responsible and not a complete dickwad about it.

- literally poured his life savings into that damn beach house because he was so intent on retiring there. part of his 50 year plan. and by god did he live by that, it’s probably one of the things he’s proudest of even.

- genuinely loves his job and satan and their religion and their church and. yeah. he just can’t stand the drama sometimes which is why he lives an hour or so away. prays several times a day, keeps a copy of the satanic bible in his bedside drawer, and will occasionally fill in for sermons when he’s needed.

I did a background but didn't like it so cut it out, lol. Also forgot Aladdin's flute, but I was already coloring at that point and it was too late to go back. This took me while to do already.

Other than that I'm real happy with how it came out.

religious trauma eakwynn au? tell me more

So the AU goes like this: Eak is having trouble living on his own because of the cost of living and shit (they're older in this AU- around 25 years old) so he moves back in with his parents. Thing is, his parents are very religious and deeply care about their reputation at their local church, so they only let him in with the condition that he'll go to church with them every Sunday. Eak doesn't believe in God anymore but doesn't have many options for living arrangements , so he accepts.

Meanwhile Owynn also has a very religious family that he's stuck with. His parents are filthy rich, but they'll disown him if he comes out and he hasn't managed to fulfill his dreams of being a musician, so he doesn't want to risk ending up with no money if they find out the truth. So, instead, he becomes a priest- it's a good way to stay on their good graces without having to get married to a woman, and it gives him power over other people since now the congregation sees him as an authority figure. It's a win/win.

However, being repressed 100% of the time is exhausting, so he occasionally sneaks out into a gay bar to dress up all GNC and hit on random man to satisfy his impulses. And what do you know! On one of those nights, he and Eak randomly meet. They dance, have a couple of drinks, hook up and then move on thinking that they might never see each other again.

...Until the exact next day, when Eak shows up at Owynn's church and the two immediately recognize each other. Owynn is basically dying inside as Eak's mom introduces them and asks him to please guide her poor son who's walked away from God and blah blah blah. They very awkwardly shake hands and try to avoid looking suspicious in front of everyone.

Once they aren't surrounded by people that could get them in trouble, they have a talk. It's clear that they have similar problems surrounding their families, even if Owynn is in much more trouble than Eak is. So, they form an ally ship, which turns into a friendship, which turns into a forbidden romance.

From then on conflict happens- I've thought of two possible ways this could go. Either 1- Eak manages to move out and slowly works towards helping untangle Owynn from his awful family so he can finally leave the church and live the life he wants to live or 2- Eak gets pregnant and now the two of them need to figure a plan ASAP before it becomes noticeable and they both get found out. Very dramatic lmao.

thinking abt dove baek and how they've done a variety of illegal things to survive and they justify all of it bc it was for their survival right and as an adult they're avoiding breaking the law as much as possible bc they have to be a good influence for sparrow bc they don't want him to pick up any of their bad behaviors right but at the same time they're super nonchalant and open abt some of the stuff they did (there's some things that are going to stay buried forever thank you very much) so sparrow absolutely picks up on that energy and the first (and only) time dove has to come pick their son up after he's caught stealing they're incredibly upset – at him but mostly themself – and they fear for their LIFE bc it's totally going to be blamed on them and while karina isn't gonna hold it against them forever she won't be happy abt it and her parents will be even more upset.
