In trying to choose a favorite character for the previous question I scoured my google drive and found an old WIP labeled "Elements or Something". I wanted to write a story with sort of stereotypical elemental magic, where people yell fancy words and cast complicated spells. So naturally I started by trying to invent my own language, except thats clearly not enough, I needed a different language for each element! And I barely had the beginnings of that written out before I guess I burnt out or something.

The premise of the world is that there are a number of civilizations, each of whom worship an elemental god, and speak his language in order to speak to his spirits and make them do magic for you. Each civilization and language is reflective of that element and the nature of that god. All the gods are children of, or at least subject to, the supreme Order which governs all things, and every language is a dialect of Arak, the language of order. Once man could speak Arak, but then they messed up somehow and lost access to it. Now the closest they can get is to learn the dialects of the lower gods.

The fire nation, Giseh, obeys the fire god Deirut, whose language is called Draska, which in Draska, translates to "I command." To control fire, you must be strong and precise or face dire consequences and their language and culture reflects that. It is common practice to inflict burn wounds on the backs of people who violate important laws and customs. In their central temple is a fire that has been burning since the birth of their civilization, called Esagu, in which is said to be imprisoned all the fire spirits of the world. When you make your own fire, you're borrowing a fire spirit from that fire and then afterwards he goes back. If any spirit gets free, they will immediately start burning and destroying things, and a priest of Deirut must go and get him back. Thats the nature of fire - powerful, but it must be controlled.

Then there's the air nation, Suosim. Naru, the air/weather god, is also the god of life on land, since without the air, nothing above the water can survive. His language is called Aysu: "I ask." Naru highly values piety to himself and so do his spirits. If his spirits don't like you, they might just not obey. The wind does what it wants, after all. Naru has a covenant with Suosim, and if they stay faithful, Naru protects their crops. He's taken it upon himself to guide people, and sends blessings and punishments in the form of different kind of weather. I think that Suosim is probably a large and diverse nation with many different kingdoms within, who are all under the protection and guidance of Naru. To be an Aystrala, or priest of Naru, though, I think is probably very difficult, or maybe you don't even choose - you are selected, like Jedi.

I don't know about the water nation yet. I know their god is named Tayo, and he is also the god of life beneath the water. Other than that though, I still have to develop. There's probably a stone god too, but I know nothing about him.

The fact there's like 5 posts about Saladin Ahmeds Wolverine issue 1 but a boatload of posts related to that fuckass movie is CRIMINAL!

Like c'mon people, there's a big focus on Logurt, they hug and Logan patches him up and worries for him, Logan runs around naked for like half the issue, even next to Kurt. There's angst and comfort and them working together and it's so sweet.

Not to mention LOOK AT HIMMMM! He's so wide and hairy and wild!

I made a few new wax seal stamps out of clay (like the ones I did for my worldbuilding stuff forever ago), this time just of random symbols that I thought might look good done in the style of painting over the raised part of the wax or etc. :0c Some of them aren't carved deep enough to really show up that well, but overall they worked okay for being clay lol
