Here is another piece dedicated to my teenage self. As mentioned in an older post, I found some drawings I did wayyy back in the early 2010s. And I decided to redraw some of them.
Fun fact: I vaguely remember recording myself working on this piece. I’m not sure if I have deleted the video or not from an old YT channel. Needless to say, I have long since lost access to whatever account I may have used to publish it.

One of my first digital pieces (2010) versus one of my recent ones (2024)
We all start somewhere!
#picked these cause they're in a similar pose lol. i mean not at all. but sort of... more than my other art at least...#oh fuck im so tired im saving this to drafts and coming back later#my anxiety meds wipe me the fuck out so im trying not to take them in the day#and they're like legit borderline a sleeping med for me. i take one and in 30 mins im OUT.#so I'm. i mean i was already only taking 1-2 in the day and then 2-3 at night#anyways it makes me sad when people say they dont have an artistic bone in their body#and especially when they say they could never draw like me :(#dont put yourself down to lift me up! i don't want my art to be used for you to be mean to yourself!!!#lots of experiences of people comparing themselves to me and being mean to themself...#feels bad. it's okay if you're slow it's okay to be learning it's okay!!!#I'm me and you're you and we're here to learn from each other. i just wanna hang out..#y'know what I'm just gonna post without saying anything i WILL forget I made a draft#i have so many things i intend to post and then forget#it's a wonder I post anything#i only do it when i get bored. and run out of stuff to scroll through#like whelp. guess if i want a post I have to make one myself.#also the second one is really good idc that it's a study i still drew it#art growth#this was in 2010 btw#i started highschool in 2011#I've grown a lot and you can too.#also I've never really been one to dislike my old art. like idk I was trying... if it's bad I just won't look at it whatever#like i wouldn't be mean to someone else who made that so i don't get a free pass to be mean just cause it's to me#man my thoughts are bungled. okay sleep time#if my phone made typos you didn't see it

i was feeling a little nostalgic and so redrew some old miraculous kiddos :] i think its crazy how much my art has changed in 2.5 yrs. especially:
1. hair (especially especially mens hair, like adriens hair used to be so difficult for me... evidently LMAO) 2. clothes (marinette's hoodie in 2021? i'd wanted it to be baggy but. just. it wasnt happening LOL) 3. speed. i did these redraws way faster than the originals
anyways. yeah keep drawing 2.5 years is a really long time but the difference between even just a few months is so vast!! I just love that artists can VISUALLY SEE these things that's such a plus

I don't usually share art growth but I did want to share this one since their poses are so close! Though they were meant to be different kinds of styles, and I still like the old one too! But it's fun to see the little ways in which my art changes over the years…

I recently posted my new 'Supervisual Sakura' design and figured it would be interesting to show the older 2020 and 2021 versions. If I really like an older design and think I can improve it, I'll remake it. The biggest change in the 2023 version is the illustration, and it shows just how useful a year of forcing myself to spend 15 minutes a day drawing was.

Wanted to try that art style timeline trend! It's really interesting to see how some things change and how others improve.
I've been doing art with the intention of growth and discovery for about 16 years now, and I don't see as big of leaps as I use to in improvement, even when I'm consistently doing studies and the like, but I'm okay with that- art fundamentals are great and important ( to me), but there's a lot of other valuable parts to doing art outside of it.
I use to cringe at my old art when I was younger, but nowadays I really enjoy looking at all stages of my art. I've worked hard for my skills and refining my subject matter and have found a continued passion I will keep for the rest of my life, and I value everything I've gone through to get here.

been watching my art style develop in real time the past month or so-
I will always stick to my sketches + fast colors first because I’m most comfortable with that. it feels most organic even if the details are not all accurate
I love what it’s flowing into <3 thank you everyone that’s supported my art journey!!
p.s. If you send an ask request you could get a full or a sketch color, I’m catching up on requests + I feel very accomplished at the moment

My favorite dinosaur genus of all time! Spinosaurus ("Spine Lizard") was a genus of dinosaurs that fed on fish. While believed to be semiaquatic, these dinos are notorious for the heavy debate surrounding how exactly they moved, and what the purpose of the sail-like spine was.
This piece is especially important to me due to my personal art history. I fell off of drawing for a long while, but the birth of my daughter helped get me back into it. This lost time meant that I frequently would look at the work other artists were doing online, and feel upset at myself for how far behind I was. Even when I was happy with a piece, I would immediately begin to dislike it as soon as I saw anybody else post some art. This past year, however, I've found myself finally start to feel confident in my abilities as an artist. This piece is a milestone for me, because I draw Spinosaurus frequently enough that I can actually look at past drawings and see the growth I've made as an artist. I still have a lot of growing to do, but it feels nice to look backwards and see how much of the road is behind me.
