We need more fanfictions that are basically “my comic book reboot”

Like, essentially fans reboot a series of their choice and write it their way. Put all the stuff they love in there while making it something they’d proudly show to their friends and say “this is the series I love and am inspired by.”

Like, don’t just wait for the movie to come out or the next comic book reboot. Make it yourself and show it to people.

Make your own Spectacular Spider-Man, your own Ultimates, your own All-Star Superman, your earth ones, your year ones, whatever you like.

While i do dislike the change from it being a random unplanned act to a pre-planned thing with Shelly being chosen, as it being a random act plays into James O'Barrs reason behind making the story (his girlfriend dying in a random accident) and also Erics arc, i WON'T try and argue that the assault was neccecary, a plain old murder would be more than enough as a motivation for Eric to feel guilty and not able to rest after death and want revenge. So while i have some issue with the reboots story changes, that is centrainly not and never will be one of them.

Can anybody defend Shelly being fucking assaulted in the comics and original movie? It's fuckin gross and I'm happy the reboot got rid of it

I have many thoughts about the new Wolverine book. Starting with Kurt and Logan’s reunion.

Logan is feral at the moment, not observing and just reacting. But the moment he has a hint of clarity (from Kurt’s scent) Kurt leaps into an embrace.

Claws still out, probably not quite lucid yet but nope, Kurt’s gonna hug you!

and a big thank you to the art here (by Martin Coccolo & Bryan Valenza) because in the last panel, it just looks like Logan….melts into the embrace. Like a weight just dropped off his shoulders. The eyes are drawn so good here, he looks sad, tired and just needing some comfort; and who better to provide some solace than his best friend, Nightcrawler.

Wolverine(2003)#1 is so funny actually because most of the issue you spend hearing about Logan from a young girl that's working at the diner and is Logans neighbor.

And she keeps calling him Mean Man because she doesn't know his name, but like...Logan spends the whole issue reading books at the diner while drinking coffee, reading books at home and drinking beer, or going to bars and getting into fights, every single day, the same routine, each day a new book. Like there's something so "neurodivergent person trying to dissociate through fiction" coded about it (also why i wouldn't be suprised if Logan started reading fanfiction, especialy about stuff he's passionate about) and about Logan.

Also his living situation is really interesting, because in the issue it's literaly a blanket, a lamp, beer and BOOKS in a small apartment with a bathroom, a short hallway, a window and a heater.

Btw the books we can see him read are Smoker by Greg Rucka, Walden by Henry Thoreau, Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk and some Edgar Allan Poe book (seeems to be Raven by the cover), for those wondering what he reads.

Also funnily enough he gets called "Mean Man" but genuienly has a single conversation where he's pretty nice even if dissmisive and outside that just doesn't talk to anyone and looks grumpy all day, yet she calls him that based on vibes. (Logan and his autistic struggles fr)

it makes me so fucking angry. Why do palestinians trying to escape genocide have to ask how you are. Why do they have to apologize for sending asks. Why must every message stast with saying they wish the reader well, they they hope you're doing okay, that they're so sorry to bother you. Do these people have to act nice and sweet for anyone to care? Do they have to make sure you're doing well before they have the right to ask for anything? Its horrific.

I absolutely love the way you draw Peter, he is so grungy and grumpy looking. Exactly how he should be! That man is a disaster lol

PFFFT what he needed as a child was modern medicine and not be neglected by his parents, because remember, he was a small sick kid with alot of allergies and illnesses, not really all that confident or loud until the night his powers activated and his mutation started changing him. He also needs therapy for his...family issues because he got abandoned by his mother, kinda ignored by his father, lowkey abused by his grandpa, hated by his bio-dad/his familys worker, and later on got hunted and hated by his brother.

!SPOILERS FOR UNCANNY X-MEN ISSUE 1, 2 AND WOLVERINE ISSUE 1!

So i've read Uncanny X-men #1 and #2 along Wolverine #1 to try and get a complete picture of what's the direction with Logan these days, because i was admittedly confused as Saladin Ahmeds direction for Logan was that he abandoned humanity and started living with a pack (sidenote: i like the issue, dislike people making Logan a wolf, a pack animal, but ig at this point it's such a big part of him that he won't escape it, sadly) while avoding Kurts attempts to try and bring him back, but at the same time he was on Gail Simones Uncanny X-men along with Kurt.

And now i think i kinda figured out what's what, Wolverine issue 1 and possibly the first whole arc takes place before Uncanny where he seems to live with humanity, and be part of the team...somewhat, he doesn't want to be a teacher after all that went down and not huge on classic superheroics at the moment, but he helps a town due to personal values and joins Rogue and Gambit on their travels.

One of the reasons i believe that Ahmeds first arc takes place before Uncanny is that he gets his costume in it, handed to him by Kurt, while in Uncanny he's already seen wearing it. (Another sidenote: I love that From the Ashes is putting focus on Logan and Kurts relationship rn in the two series, Logurt shippers should be eating well in this era hopefully)

Personaly i like both Uncanny and Wolverine even tho you can sorta tell two different people are writing Logan, in Uncanny he feels alot more somber and rough (might something with David Marquez always drawing Logan with soft eyes from what i noticed, always makes him look kinda sad and gentle) while in Wolverine he feels more wild and agressive, but that might be the fact he was living like an animal for a bit and his pack has just gotten killed, along with Kurt getting hurt.

I am interested in seeing how these two series will line up and work alongside each other or if they're not gonna mesh well due to odd timelines and directions. If i was to choose personaly if i'd preffer to have Logan only as a supporting character on Simones run or only in a solo, i don't know if i could make that call, guess we'll have to see how it'll all go.

The fact there's like 5 posts about Saladin Ahmeds Wolverine issue 1 but a boatload of posts related to that fuckass movie is CRIMINAL!

Like c'mon people, there's a big focus on Logurt, they hug and Logan patches him up and worries for him, Logan runs around naked for like half the issue, even next to Kurt. There's angst and comfort and them working together and it's so sweet.

Not to mention LOOK AT HIMMMM! He's so wide and hairy and wild!

Like 50% of their battle strategy is "Yeet me Pete!"

Pretty sure one of his first words to Colossus once he came back from the "dead" was "How's your throwing arm?" And then we see Logan fly at an alien ship to stick his fist down Ords throat. (He's freaky like that.)

Today we took our little son to the hospital because he suffers from a chest infection that affects his breathing and causes him pain. I hope that every living conscience will help us save our young son’s life and donate any amount you can.

Emergency: Help my family survive and start a new life

In the shadow of conflict, our family has faced unimaginable hardships. The passing of my father, a victim to the cruel grasp of hunger and inadequate healthcare, left a void in our lives, underscoring the fragility of our existence here. My brother, Samer, battles bipolar disorder, a condition exacerbated by the ongoing war and the severe shortage of essential medications. Without access to the necessary treatment, his life is at risk, and we live in constant fear for his well-being amidst the chaos that surrounds us. These personal tragedies have deepened the urgency of our situation.

Every day is a struggle for survival, and each night is filled with prayers for a brighter tomorrow. Yet, amidst the darkness, we hold onto hope, seeking solace in the belief that one day, the clouds of war will dissipate, and we will find the peace and stability we so desperately crave. Until then, we endure, clinging to the threads of our resilience, and nurturing dreams of a safer, healthier future for us all.

Our home, once a sanctuary of love and warmth, was destroyed, displacing us into a life of uncertainty and fear. The laughter of my children and my sister's daughters, once the music of our home, is now silenced by the echoes of conflict. They deserve a future where education and happiness are not just dreams but realities.

We dream of a place far from the sounds of war we want to be safe with my family we dream to move to Egypt to save ourselves

This journey is more than a physical relocation; it is a quest for dignity, for normalcy, for the very essence of what makes life worth living. We seek to restore what conflict has stripped from us: our home, our health, and our hope.

We turn to you, not just as donors, but as fellow humans who understand the power of compassion and community. Your support, in any form, is a beacon of hope in our darkest times. It represents solidarity and a shared belief in the sanctity of life and the right to a safe and peaceful existence.

Our dream is simple yet seems a world away:

to escape to Egypt .

for children to pursue education and a life unshaded by conflict, and for us to honor my father's memory in a land of peace.

However, this dream bears a significant cost, one that is beyond our reach. For each of us to make this journey, to cross borders towards a life of safety and dignity, we estimate the need for at least $5,000 per person. This sum covers the complex tapestry of legal, travel, and initial resettlement expenses.

Trying to help family trapped in Gaza for 10 months

I’m Mohammed Shamia, a fourth year student of laboratory medicine.

I’m trying to get funds for my family of 9 members

With the beginning of the donation campaign, I was the first individual from my family escape to Egypt after 200 days, so I could help my family to get out of Gaza.

Unfortunately, the crossing close and my family still in Gaza

My family lost everything, our house and my brother's house, we lost our happy lives

Now my family lives in difficult conditions in Gaza and fear between plastic walls that do not protect from the summer heat or the cold of winter

This is how my family struggles daily to obtain the most basic rights
