Not gonna lie, I kinda wanna go down the road of making Zamasu more chill. Like, sure, he absolutely hates mortalkind but toned down a bit.
Appreciating them for their finer things.
Like tea. And classical music.

Ok so I have been stewing this crossover au in my brain nonstop for the past few days and. I am nothing if not committed to the bit, so. Volume cover redraws :)
Here are the originals:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you want to read more about my one piece spy x family crossover, keep reading!
So the idea is simple! Crossover reincarnation au where ASL is reborn in Spy x Family. They’re each born separately and none of them are born with the same names as their previous lives, and with no way of finding each other, they each find their own thing to do in the world.
Sabo, too used to the dangers of being a spy, eventually finds a cause to devote himself to again, in preventing war from engulfing the country he was reborn in. Ace, drawn to fire as he was in his previous life, used arson as a means to rob rich people for sustenance and survival, and is eventually scouted and hired by Garden as a fire specialist and assassin. And Luffy, though born in perhaps the poorest condition, grows up happily and takes whatever part time jobs he wants to do.
The thing about Sabo is that, as much as he seems like a young man of good repute and high standing within society, everyone in WISE knows that he is a massive nuisance. Nobody knew in the beginning how a child less than half the age of most of their veteran agents could have the same skills and knowledge in their profession. Sabo was— and still is— hyper competent, and by the time WISE figured out just how much of a menace to society he was, it was too late.
Ace forgot for the first few years of his new life that he wasn’t made of fire, and consequently, received multiple accidental burns. This did not deter him, however, from growing up to be a very skilled arsonist, well-practiced in every which way to start a dumpster fire or house fire. As a teenage he would use this often to draw attention as he robbed rich people blind. When he was caught, he was given an ultimatum by Garden: join them and receive payment for starting fires and causing problems under contract, or face the government and authorities for his crimes. Begrudgingly, he joined Garden, but eventually comes to appreciate that he can make substantial money in his element.
Luffy is Luffy. No telepathy or experimentation, no fancy schools, no gimmicks or secret identities. But he has still lived an extremely colorful life in this world, full of fascinating and kind individuals who have helped him grow up healthy and relatively happy. He goes where he is free, and he takes whatever part time jobs he wants in order to make the minimum he needs to survive.
Ace and Sabo find each other first, in their late teens, and neither of them realize that the other remembers their previous life, but both refuse to separate. (Sabo thinks Ace doesn’t remember, because Ace didn’t recognize him. Ace never saw Sabo grow up past 10, however, so he doesn’t recognize older Sabo immediately. By the time he does realize who exactly Sabo is, Sabo has backtracked and pretends to know Ace from a dream, or from somewhere else.)
Sabo’s attachment to Ace, predictably, causes problems between Sabo and WISE, but by then, Sabo is indispensable to the organization, and they make an exception for Sabo to be able to remain with Ace, so long as Ace never finds out what Sabo’s actual job is. Ace, on the other hand, hides his job because he doesn’t want his brother, who he has just found and who does not know Ace well enough yet, to know that he makes a living from killing people.
And they find Luffy sometime afterwards, prior to the beginning of the Spy x Family canon. Luffy figures out, not long after moving in with his brothers, both of his brothers’ secret occupations and the fact that both of them remember their past memories. He thinks it is common knowledge, however, and so he never brings it up.

Okay Ya'll... Genuine Question...
Would a Jedi... make a good Cultivator?
Like?
Let us assume? It's not your average, middling, Jedi. It's a pretty GOOD at Jedi-ing Jedi. One USED to being humanoid, so there isn't any body dismorphia. Let's go with Obi-Wan, cause honestly? He's perfect for this. And life DOES like to kick him in the nuts like that.
It would FUCKIN TRACK. Might as WELL happen, he would think, reincarnated.
Probably not even mad, honestly. Just mildly upset with the Force, as a nebulous concept. Cause he fuckin DID his time. He was enjoying not being organic anymore. Rude™
Cause like? Let's look at what a Jedi is?
Spiritual
Knows how to use a (lazer) sword
VERY non-judgmental of Sentient Beings that do not look like them
Practiced in being kind and emotionally balanced (Anikin. Remember those classes? WE REMEMBER THOSE CLASSES)
Great at meditation and feeling "The Force"
Etc etc! It's damn near a one to one! Except? For the DETAILS. Both? Would fundamentally view the OTHER as "doing it wrong". Jedi? Use violence as a LAST resort. Cultivators? Often the FIRST. Jedi do not KEEP the Force inside them selves. They are PART of it. Cultivators? Build Qi, taken in and built "from themselves", to form a golden core. The base of their IMMORTALITY.
You know... the very thing SITH have been attempting for eons.
And what is this Becoming Gods business? Ascension???! EXCUSE ME?
Talking down to the "mortal world"? Removing yourself from it? It is... it is UNNATURAL. Un-jedi. Yes, they KNOW their are other Force Sects out there. And they are not necessarily DARK... but... this feels? Wrong?
And to Cultivators? What is the Jedi? If not some bizarrely powerful Hippie? All humble robes and sitting in the dirt, laughing with villager children. Getting shown their straw dolls. Passed a baby to hold, by grateful parents they helped.
What is Dignity to a Jedi? What is Face? Reputation and Honor?
They are servants of a higher calling. A humble calling.
One with the Force, which is One With Them.

straight people think gay people make being gay their whole personality the same way you think you’ve never seen someone with good lip filler.
because when you don’t see it, you don’t see it. you’re mistaking not noticing something as proof of it’s absence.
“i have no problem with gay people as long as they don’t shove it in my face” well, you see the problem with that is you just assume everyone not shoving it in your face is straight so…

Me: [rocking in the therapist chair] But Elphaba asking Glinda whether she and Fiyero ever had an affair is so heartbreaking to me. Of course the very idea is ludicrous—not even Sarima’s sisters believed it—and Elphaba should know better. But she still loves Fiyero so much that the very possibility lived rent-free in her mind, so much so that she just has to ask Glinda whether or not she banged their mutual college friend. Freakin’ Glinda, whom she hadn’t seen in almost 20 years (!!). And no, I don’t think Elphaba wanted to alleviate her misplaced guilt by believing Fiyero’s death was really the result of Sir Chuffrey getting into a jealous rage. I think it’s rooted in the fact that Elphaba never believed she was good enough for Fiyero. After all, she was never enough to make her own father love her, at least more than her sister, so why should Fiyero stay faithful to her, why not Glinda? [Starts sobbing] Well, jokes on you, Elphie, because Fiyero did not go for Glinda and probably wouldn’t have, yes, he found her lovely but he was also WTF-ing over her new chipmunk personality and refused to take her up on her offer to meet up, and instead homeboy went to the Chapel of St. Glinda just because he knew you went there for some reason, because news flash, he was not chill about you either, not even once, oh God
Therapist: This is the first time she has talked about something other than the French R&J musical, don’t anybody move—

The Emperor neither good or bad, but a secret third thing
He's a game mechanic meant to facilitate roleplay. A sorta, kinda "self-identity" meter, if you will. I'm gonna use a TTRPG mechanic outside of D&D to explain the Emperor/Dream Guardian, which is WoD Vampire's Touchstone:
Touchstones are a vampire's connection to the mortal world, representing a mindset in which they value themselves. A Touchstone must be a single living human being. The touchstone might be a surviving partner or family member, related to someone who the vampire killed in their early unlife or even just something they run into regularly. Some Kindred, due to their disconnect from the mortal world may even pick a Touchstone who doesn't know they exist, instead choosing to stalk and watch over the human to retain their connections to humanity.
Because Vampire is ultimately a game about maintaining your character's humanity, there's mechanics like the Touchstone that you have to manage and interact with. BG3 and specifically the parts involving The Emperor and mindflayer powers are also about maintaining your character's humanity.
When the game asks you to create a "guardian," it's being deliberately ambiguous because it wants you, the PC, to interpret what a "guardian" means. For me, I made someone who looked like my PC's older sibling. Others just made hot OC without any backstory to tie the guardian to their Tav, and that's fine. The point is that just by creating the guardian, you have made them significant to your PC in one way or another.
Unlike Touchstones (which are named that way because they're supposed to keep you in "touch" with your humanity), "guardian" has different connotations. What are they safeguarding exactly? You, of course, but what specifically about you? Your appearance? Your mind? Your human(oid) body? Your soul? Or just your general continued existence? Which parts of "you" are you willing to cede until you no longer consider yourself "you?"
And as the game progresses, you discover and discard parts yourself through your own volition, either by making deals with hags and devils or using illithid powers (which is why the narrator says you've lost a part of yourself that you'll never get back over and over again) or one of the many origin ways to lose your memory/humanity/autonomy.
And that's why people have such ambivalent feelings about the Emperor. He claims to be protecting "you," but what it's up to you to draw the lines of what constitutes "you." He's pushy and manipulative if you draw a hard line that you are whoever you were at character creation. Your goal is to stay true to who you believe yourself to be despite external circumstances forcing you to compromise your body, your values, your personality, etc. Guardians are there to help preserve you and shield you from said external forces.
But if you accept that despite the brain worms, veiny eyes, and outright tentacles you're still you, he suddenly did exactly what he promised. You being malleable and willing to change yourself isn't weakness, after all. Some may call it submitting to authority or letting yourself be manipulated, but is it if you were sufficiently informed and always given a choice to do otherwise? Isn't this journey supposed to change you and make you more powerful? Guardians aren't meant to keep you in a box, so much as they are to facilitate your growth.
The quandry being tested here is: At what point do you decide when a guardian (parent, lover, master, etc.) has failed you? Neglected you? Used you? Abused you? How much of yourself do you trust them with before you say that they've taken too much?
