#svsss #scum villian self saving system #shen qingqiu #shen yuan #the fact that people think scum villain #-a series that examines and criticizes common tropes in fiction-#is somehow against criticism or being a little hater is wild to me #especially since shen qingqiu never gets punished for being a hater #heck- he's still a little hater by the end of the series #he mostly gets punished for treating life like a play and like he and the people around him are characters #(or in other words- he suffers for denying his own wants and emotions and his own sense of empathy)#I think some of y'all underestimate how much writing/art is inspired by creaters being little haters #like example off the top of my head-#the author of Iron Widow has been pretty vocal about the book being inspired by their hatred of Darling in the Franxx #I think my interpretation of Shen Yuan's transmigration is also supported by the fact that this series is an examines writing processes #side note- though i understand why people say Shen Yuan is lazy and think its a valid take it still doesnt sit right with me #i am probably biased because my own experiences with chronic pain and depression and isolation #but ya- i dont think Shen Yuan is lazy so much as he is deeply lonely and feels purposeless after denying parts of himself for 20ish years #like yall remember the online fandom boom from covid right?#being stuck completely alone in bed while feeling like shit for 20 days straight does shit to your brain #the fact that no one came to check on him + he wasn't exactly upset about leaving anyone behind supports the isolation interpretation too #+in the skinner demon arc he describes his life of being a faker/inability to stop being a faker now that he's Shen Qingqiu #as “so bland he's tempted to throw salt on himself” and “all he could do is lay around and wait for death” (<-paraphrasing)#bro wants to be doing stuff but is stuck in paralysis from repeatedly following scrips made by other people #another point on “Shen Yuan isn’t lazy” is just the sheer amount of studying that man does #also he did graduate college- how lazy can he really be #he doesnt know what hes doing but he at least tries to actively train his students #and he actually works on improving his own cultivation + spends quite a bit of time preping the mushroom body thing #+he's experiencing bouts of debilitating chronic pain throughout all this #but ya tldr: Shen Yuan's transmigration is an encouragement to write and not a punishment and also i dont think its fair to call him lazy

I would just like to take a moment to draw your attention to how much my art has improved since the first chapter.

It has always been a little dream of mine to create a comic to help me improve my art and just share a story while watching my art journey along the way. ...and it has NOT dissappointed Just take a look at these two similar shots from chapter 1 and from the chapter that will be going up this Sunday:

While I do wish I could be sharing and drawing this story faster, I am so proud that I have managed to get 3 whole chapters out with this much improvement all while taking a full time's job worth of college credits. I'm just so excited to keep sharing this and maybe even getting quicker with this as I am nearing my graduation from college. I have so many fun ideas, art, projects, and stories to share and I haven't even been fully released into the wild. Just you all wait, I've been nerfed this whole time, I'm about to pull a Goku and take off my weights once I graduate and I'll become unstoppable~

So just a huge thank you to all of you for sticking with me in this niche little corner of the world of mine. You all inspire me to keep doing what I do and I only wish to extend that back to each and every one of you <3

#alek art #zane julien #previous master of ice #ninjago #lego ninjago #2024 #aka the scene i wish we got in snake jaguar ...#zane is like 30 here #im mostly thinking about dr juliens perspective on this night. we have very little to go off of but he was very weirded out #random very sick old man shows up at your door and takes an “interest” in your son. he isnt even over for an entire day. with him comes col #he was striken with winter and something about him felt off. he leaves without a word. after his arrival your son begins acting weird.#then another old man arrives. asking for your son. wonder what happened there #for anything about passing on powers or losing them its always some big event... hm #i think the previous master really did need shetler. we know he was old and died shortly after the power giving. i dont know what about #zane caught his eye. i do think its very interesting that this man of few words was so obviously fascinated that dr julien noticed.#dr julien isnt the most socially aware and in the little bit he said about the previous master... he sounded concerned #imagine weirding out the weirdest man alive #i think zane caught on too. he felt eyes on him the entire night. they ate dinner with the man.. gave him shelter... but he felt he wanted #more. sometime that day he gave zane the power of ice. which effectively changed the course of his entire life. zane and dr julien hadnt a #clue what happened. 'yesterday a man arrived' so not even within a day did he see zane and decide that he was the one #thinking about how zane acting like his self now is 'strange' and was out of the ordinary. what was he like before? how do you even pass a #power down. we see people get their powers stolen and its always a spectacle and its so exhausting and so on. how did dr julien not see #anything. there was no questions? he just noticed the previous master found his son interesting and then he left ?#goddddd im insane i wanna write a fic about zane pre series

just realized ive posted art almost every single day since the start of the year and the only day i didnt was cuz of work. lets fucking GOOOOOO

and its so amazing that both ryo and milena got to be On Stage for their final show. as swings, thats not always a guarantee. and they got to bow hand in hand <3

tumblr wont let me embed the links rn but go to @/useumofoadway on ig for a beautiful bow video. its full of so many beautiful moments for that cast; tilly and milena getting to bow side by side, and tilly starting them all kneeling for milena so she could bow solo. the rest of the company throwing epdm or kisses or hugs her way as they bowed. ryo and milena's bow spots being right next to each other bc of their tracks. pulling ryo and milena center stage, and the kupermans bringing milena flowers. the solid 20 seconds of applause just for milena, bc god did she put her entire being into keeping this show running for Years. the giant group hug lit by a single spotlight. and the whole cast cheering milena off stage for the last time, chanting and clapping <3

#the casts goodbyes to milena made my emotional all day too #its just. so lovely to see how much the cast loves each other #and how much they value the very obvious hard work each person does #at least 4 people on stage with milena that show were taught by her #the show literally could not have happened without milena's dedication and work #and to see that honored so beautifully is very cool #i love theater. i love the families it creates within companies. i love the collaboration and sharing of art and talent and love #happy trails milena and ryo <3 #ryo for now !!!!!!!!!! probably!!!!!! hes a vacation swing i feel like he will definitely be called back eventually #after pirates ofc #bc bro is going to Another bway show <3 #the outsiders musical #the outsiders broadway #milena j comeau #ryo kamibayashi
