the arcane fandom is close to crashing and burning for the sole purpose of the fact that SOME people in this fandom can’t be kind and courteous to other people. like genuinely, do we need to use hextech to create a filter or a timeout area for anyone who uses hurtful words? i thought we knew better, kindergarten literally went through the entire year teaching us how to be kind.

the racism, the homophobia, the disrespect and just the toxicity overall has taken its giant blanket of nastiness and thrown it over almost the entire fandom.

this reminds me of how the mha fandom was. i couldnt like or dislike a character without getting absolutely ATTACKED for it. my like for that fandom disappeared SO quickly because of the death threats and hate i was getting for simply saying that katsuki or ochako were my favorite characters.

FIRST OF ALL sorry this took so long to answer and you are so sweet ty!! also i promise however & whatever youre doing theres no real wrong or right way as cliche as it sounds genuinely it is just about finding a method that works for you! & having brushes you like helps a LOT– i use procreate and. okay i genuinely cannot find the link for the brush i use for sketching & lines ive been looking forever. it's called thick watercolor and i got it for free but i just for the life of me have no idea where the download link went? it haunts me ;( for coloring tho ok genuinely forever i just used the default procreate round brush but of late ive been really into the smooth brush in this gouache set i think its lovely it is, true to name, SO smooth i love it ^_^ ok continued under the cut i dont want this to be too long or anything. i will yap tho! disclaimer that i am in no way god's expert on art or anything this is just my method in this world

to be honest i thumbnail half my shit in my fucking notes app of all places and its absolutely incomprehensible. ok the example im gonna use here will be my end of tit art bc i took a lot of screenshots in the middle of the process bc i was going thru a lot with the colors. so first off heres my thumbnail LMAOOOO

one day i'll just show you guys all the nonsense in my notes app thats only coherent to me. theres a lot of just like scribbly smooches i doodle whenever im down to be so honest. ANYWAY! ok here's the speedpaint forgive that i had to cut out the middle a little bit because um i draw a billion things on the same canvas all the time so i had like detours in the middle of this. and enjoy the soundtrack i have provided you (it is of course legendary danandphilbeats banger it hits different.)

(here's the absolute state of the full canvas. yeah sorry the detour in question was the sister daniel/father philip image. jordan laddersmp3 always yells at me for drawing so many things on the same canvas but what can i say i have a sickness. i have a lot that are far more cluttered than this)

umm but basically my usual order is slapping my thumbnail into procreate (not that i dont sketch in procreate sometimes but idk. smthn abt my notes app feels less serious so i conceptualize things more in there) and then drawing over it with my sketch/lineart brush- and frankly i dont really have the patience for lineart so mostly the things i draw are just cleaned-up sketches. never let anyone tell you that you have to do lineart. theyre lying. do whatever the fuck you want forever <3 here's the sketch and then just the cleaner kinda-lineart-kinda-sketch

and then i set the sketch layer to multiply- you can fiddle with other blend modes, sometimes linear burn matches the vibe better, or if youre the kinda person who Does like to do solid lineart obvs you can leave it normal- and slap down some like base colors on a layer under it for what i want the color scheme to be and like where i want the light a lil bit!

(the color scheme for this one was of course heavily referenced from this lovely picture from the wonderful nora, because it made me really emo and also had the perfect palette)

from there it's just a matter of me making a billion new layers to like refine the details & color (which also not that you cant paint all on the same layer but that scares me idk im always afraid to fuck up smthn i like so.) i definitely try to color like separate parts/people/objects on separate layers just in case. (though i always draw dnp on the same layer #donotseparate etc) oh i totally cheated dans shirt here by painting it on a layer and just turning that layer's opacity down til i was like yeah ok that looks transparent. work smarter not harder. also i do not name my layers and am a mess with them. that is okay.

and then i like to do a layer thats over the lineart where i can add little scribbles on top of the drawing- like little highlights and stuff, which is one of my favorite things to add to drawings :] (and also i put a clipping mask on the lineart to recolor it a little so i can lighten up areas of it and soften up the feel if needed!)

& then sometimes, like with this one, i like to add a veeeeryyyy slight chromatic aberration, just to add a bit of dimension, so i merged all the background color layers together separately from the body layers (with the exception of the confetti, which was on its own layer, & obvs my little highlights) and did likeeee i think a 2% chromatic aberration on the bodies and maybe 3% on the bg just to add a lil more color in there. i just like how it looks idk. i moved the center of it to dnp of course

can i admit something actually i always get scared of leaving effects i cant undo like chromatic aberration or blurs of any kind so i literally always undo them after i save the image to post. im insane like that bc im always like what if i wanna edit the image later. u never know. etc etc. <- i have FEARS what can i say. but ummm yeagh thats basically it hope u enjoyed this look into Amelia's Artistic Process!

also sidebar i do not always rawdog color schemes slash use photo refs sometimes if a color scheme is just not coming together the way i want it to i'll make use of a gradient map turned up to whatever percent feels right in the moment (usually honestly like 10% max unless the vibes want more, like, its just veeery slight to unify the color scheme a bit). genuinely i do like the default procreate gradient maps- i like warm colors a lot so im fond of blaze and venice- tho ive also made a couple of my own ^_^ i didn't use one with this here cause i liked the colors but yeah if i hate the colors just that slight correction always helps make it feel more cohesive <3 also there's always the option of making a layer on top of everything that's just a solid color and setting the blend mode to “color” and fiddling with the opacity until you get what you like, which is what i did with the redraw of the selfie with sarah so it was more nicely orangey :] literally i just do whatever half the time! which is maybe not the best tutorial or anything but well! what can i say

I hate westerners who make old (age wise) asian characters (whether they look young or old) look like some old boney british dude. Like no. This noble from imperial japan does not look like the critic from ratatoui (? Spelling?)

I swear if i see one more westerner draw an asian character with a huge arched nose, enormous brow bobe and generally sunken wrinkly features im gonna go ballistic.

And before the people who cant read try and comment something. I dont think theres anything inherently wrong with these features. BUT THOSE ARENT ASIAN FEATURES! I KNOW! IM ASIAN! ASIANS HAVE THEIR OWN BEAUTIFUL AGEING FEATURES DESPITE THE JOKES THAT WE DONT AGE! LEARN THEM!

and its worse because alot of people started doing it to show diversity or inclusiveness and love for "ugly" features. But if you care so much about it i think the least you would do is learn to put the right features on the right race. Seriously why are you making asians look european???? Our faces (generally) ARE NOT THAT SHARP or in that way. Alot of us have very soft rounded faces. Its not just a beauty standard its literally our bone structure.

honestly i don't think sqq (jiu) would have minded the accusations of preferential treatment from yqy if they'd felt true. like as children he guarded the title of being yue qi's Favorite with teeth and claws. why shouldn't he be given preferential treatment? everyone ought to know just who qi-ge likes and trusts over everyone else. and for good fucking reason--who else here is watching out for qi-ge? as peak lords he's literally 2nd in command and chief tactician, if yqy values his word over yours, then its both what makes most sense and also what he deserves.

the thing is that to sqq, being accused of being favoured by yqy over others now just feels like a sick joke, because obviously (to him) that's not the fucking case. if he actually gave him preferential treatment you'd think he'd listen to what he has to fucking say, instead of believing what anyone else tells him about sqq. you'd think, if he was yqy's favorite, he wouldn't have left him to rot.

so i think, in a setting where they reconcile after becoming peak lords, that sqq would very much slap yqy's love for him in everyones faces as a kind of power move. a kind of, "oh, you thought that was favouritism? you havent seen yet what it looks like when qi-ge lets himself favour someone."

We really don't talk about the fact that Koujaku was raised as the son of a fucking YAKUZA LEADER enough. You KNOW he was forced into doing the most insane shit, and you KNOW he's like that stereotypical dad that randomly drops some lore about the horrific thing that was done to him in childhood and never elaborates.

He plays shogi with Aoba for some reason, and he has a crazy winning streak, so Aoba obviously asks "Damn, how are you so good at this?" and Koujaku casually replies "I was forced to play shogi with my father's buisness partners for money and he'd hit me if I lost" in the most casual tone ever, like this is how everyone was taught.

And it never ends with him. He just randomly remembers insane things from his childhood when he talks to Aoba and says them. "When I was 15 I was goaded into snorting coke at my father's buisness party"; "My father took me to a brothel on my 18th birthday"; "I was forced to cut off the finger of one of our subordinates when I was 14". He never says anything more.

And Aoba is, of course, is mortified every time. He tells Koujaku that this is crazy and his father was evil and none of this should've happened, and that he's always there to talk about anything he wants, but Koujaku doesn't understand why Aoba is so worried for him- it's the past, it doesn't bother him at all now (so he thinks). To him, it's all small potatoes when it comes to what happened in that period of that life, which, after all, included him being branded and attacking/killing his mother.

So he downplays it all, because he thinks it shouldn't bother him anymore- and you know, it doesn't, it really doesn't. He gets paralyzed for a second when he remembers and feels dread festering in the pit of his stomach, like he's once again a kid with no way out for a second, but it's nothing. It's nothing.

I've noticed there is a distinct lack of vi x butch!reader and it's actually a bit upsetting. just bc vi is into women doesn't necessarily mean she's only into one type of women. cait has masc traits and yet I've noticed an alarming trend of those being glossed over. It feels like a different form of gender expectation but lesbian flavored. I'm a nerdy butch myself and it has the unintentional vibe of making me feel like vi is only attracted to hyper feminine women. it just. It hurts.

Honestly the funniest thing about TDP to me is that Rayla for some reason always thinks Callum isn't 100% ride-or-die with her on any given situation. Seriously, she could decide she's jumping off a cliff and he'd do it too--oh wait.

I get that half of it is 'protecting' him but like. Girl he has been ready to die and kill for you since the first snake chain incident. It has not lightened up since. In fact its gotten worse. She's his special little guy and if anything happens to her he will kill everyone in the room and then himself. She physically cannot ever sacrifice herself for anyone because Callum WILL be following her straight into the afterlife in no less than a minute. I'm fully convinced he can and would go even further than Claudia and he'd barely have to think on it for five seconds before shrugging like "damn this sucks, can't believe I have to turn evil" "you literally don't have to--" "no I'm gonna"

And honestly I think that's peak teenagers first girlfriend behavior.

TEAM8s is not a team that did nothing, but rather a team that suffered from unused potential

This is an analysis of Team8s in TPOT 1-2, and (most) characters on the team. This is what I believe to be how an arc for Team8s could've been portrayed if their team had something going on before the merge. This analysis takes into consideration their experiences in BFDIA and BFB, and how it could've affected TPOT and their team.

Team8s is a team that is full of potential, it was formed through Coiny wanting to have woah bunch reunited, and Saw and Gaty wanting to team with Barf Bag over having zig zags, it is also a team made up of close duos (+ Needle), and 5/8 of the members having leader qualities. This is a team that has so much potential because of how much conflict could have arisen, even before the team was officially formed, Coiny, Gaty and Pin were arguing over the team's name, over something so trivial too! This interaction shows how strong they are with their wants and beliefs, and rooted in why the team was formed, that it should be named after why they're in the team, instead of making something united together. The characters joined for different reasons and it's interesting seeing right off the bat how strong each of their presences are. For potential, I believe Pin and Coiny's conflict with their experiences in BFDIA could've made for something interesting, especially since two of the characters were dragged into the team because of that. BFDIA is something Coiny wishes to relive and want that experience to be ongoing, but it isn't and he cannot move on from the past, contrasting with Pin's distaste for the season because of her treatment, experiences, even becoming disabled in the season and nobody caring other than Coiny. They have extremely different views of the season that brought them together despite being so close, and with this team, I believe it would have given them the chance to show their frustrations about the season, and have the ability to communicate more in depth about why it left such an impact on both of them, and also how they can move on from it and enjoy the future outside of that season. That being said, the characters outside of that duo can push that potential arc forward, BFDIA being a season that some characters weren't there for, or didn't impact them overall. Donut being the first eliminated, the game itself wouldn't have much importance to him, and due to his early elimination, he grew as a character due to that. If his previous characterization was referenced by Coiny or any other character, either Barf Bag or pin could remarked that he isn't the same person, he still retains his irritable nature but he now is more considerate and thoughtful, a person who is a leader and rational. The past is not the present and he's very different from his beginnings. Speaking of leaders, Needle is able to speak her mind, if something like this did happen, she would be able to put him in his place and tell him to move on, similar to how she did in BFB with Firey and Leafys arguing, and same with Gaty! However, most of her interactions with him are negative, but arguably, most of them do have to do with BFDIA, she would be seeing this from an outside view and possibly confront Coiny about his attachment to that previous season (though narratively, Needle would be a better pick for that role considering their past, Gaty would be better to further the conflict and cause him to realize that there is an issue). There could be a rift between the characters in the team, similar to Bleh, but not as unattached from reality that book caused her team to be. The conflict could affect the teams overall performance, especially with so many characters who fit the leader role, it would cause no single direction that challenges go, many of the duos/groups splitting off to do their own thing. There's many ideas and directions, and nobody cooperating. Once Gaty, who was on a team with conflict previously, and possibly Donut, someone who is able to keep his team together, they realize they cannot function as a team if this keeps on going. They'd be the characters to cause the other characters to resolve the conflict and ultimately have the arc come to a close.... and this is just a single idea! The team overall has so much potential and wasn't used despite there being so much going on for all the characters! They aren't a team that did nothing, but a team that was forgotten about.

apparently it says that rauru DID have kids, multiple even, which yeah... is kinda necessary for zelda to even be connected to them so much so that sonia can SENSE a blood connection (which, even with all the excuses with magic, is just a little too far for me to suspend my disbelief bc its over, OVER, ten thousand years worth of generations that seperate her from them that one lil touch of the hand can sense that (feels more like an attempt to make you care about them or .. see them as zeldas "better" parents just bc they exchange a few nice words, i never got the feeling they were 'better' parents and its also kinda disrespectful to her actual parents, like sure rhoam wasnt the best but i wouldnt call rauru better just bc he was polite)- i could see maybe the light power of hylia or sth but since its the coolest dude that ever lived rauru now that had it which still doesnt make sense and makes me unreasonably annoyed and she can sense BOTH of their powers in her? nah) the fact theres NOTHING about them in the game itself is just so ... no way they planned any of this
