just returning here after 2 years of not being on this cursed app to say one thing and one thing only. i LEFT this app because of rampant antisemitism and dehumanization that i witnessed two years ago. my last post was about the death of sarah halimi z’l, which you were all silent about. today, six months after the most violent and deadly attack on jews since the Shoah, i return to see how the virulent and disgusting antisemitism that pushed me away from here is even worse than it ever was. i was on tumblr, with various accounts, for more than a decade. it was NEVER this bad but then again, the dehumanization of jews has become so normalized in the last five or six years, so idk why i’m surprised.

Do you ever stop and think about how lolis are now popular and kinda mainstream enough to see them a bit everywhere and nobody will make that big of a fuss about them anymore and do you also come to the conclusion that the reason why they're so widespread is because they're mainly created for and by men and put in straight relationships and at worst those get a scoff and a roll of the eyes and maybe a few diss comments but they're almost never at the center of some big fandom drama? Because shotas are a product created by and mostly aimed at women due to them being mostly used in yaoi and we all know yaoi is Big and Evil and Not Good Rep so if you're into shotas you're a Disgusting Freak who needs to receive death threats. One could argue that oneshota exists as well but their intended audience is once again men but a very Specific sort so its popularity is way inferior and it kinda lays low, once again flying under the radar because women aren't the ones drawing/reading it (mostly, people, I know women can like lolis and and het shotas ok, we're speaking generally).

Have you ever stopped to think that the reasons there are not that many shotas in games is that their main target would be women and everything in this society is meant for and made by men so of course lolis are the ones getting popularised instead. And have you ever considered that the reason why many won't include shotas in their works isn't limited to the fact they, as men, don't personally find them appealing, since they can still create hot male characters, but also includes the fact that they know deep down why men like lolis is the same why women like shotas and they have this rooted fear of being looked at like they look at women so they cannot bring themselves to create something so blatantly pandering towards women and against "their" (through the characters) sense of masculinity. Because even the frailest of femboys is still a few leagues better than a shota just like a cute girl isn't the same as a loli and they KNOW, they know even just at a subconscious level so they won't include shotas and this is why there are such few adorable babies in the world. Because it's a bit of a niche interest in women creators so they can't be the absolute menace of a machine that is the regular yaoi industry, and it's also extremely niche amongst het men creators and even more in gay men ones.

If you will forgive my somewhat clunky metaphor, being a Jew on the Left often feels like I'm in abusive relationship.

I'm most certainly not going to go to the Right not only because of my morals, ethics, and values, but because whether it be overt or covert their end goal is the death and destruction of me, my people, our culture, and everything we hold believe in. It is like the Right is someone who just all red flags and your gut tells you if enter into a relationship with them the only way it ends is with them killing you. But the Left, well the Left seems cool and you get along and have similar view points so you think okay this could work. But it turns out the have some strange friends who have some real not okay thoughts and the Left will say "I'm not really with them you know", but they will still do stuff with and invite to stuff and won't end the friendship when those friends say some real disgusting things. Then as things progress you are not allowed to have things from a different perspective made from the nuances of your history and experiences. Then Left is telling you can't have certain thoughts, feelings, or be hurt by things. The Left is telling you what think is not what you think, what you heard you didn't, what you saw you didn't see, you just don't get it, you don't understand. Suddenly the rules that you both agreed to are being changed on you, and you are being told that you liar and are in fact the one with power and abusive. Not just that antisemitism is not antisemitism and according to Left you call everything antisemitism to delegitimize and downplay and shutdown. Suddenly the Left knows your history better then you and is explaining your beliefs, history, just everything to you as if you don't know it all already and know it better and more in depth. You are alone with no one and the Left is saying you are cheating with the Right when you would never and you just want to make it work. And it all is mess.

That is basically how I feel right now about the Left and how it feels to be a leftist and Jewish.

I mean it has always been somewhat difficult. There has always been a pretty large amount of antisemitism there. But right now it is on a whole kind of level.

I mean there is the old joke about hating Jews being the one thing that can bring the left and right together.

I think a fair amount of what I'm describing other marginalized people's have felt to a degree as well on the left. I do not want to discount those experiences.

I think overall the left needs to do better, I think it needs to stop being so White TM like white focused in its leftism, I think also that using the USA understanding of Race and Racial politics is dangerous and plain unhelpful when applied to global scale.

I think the Left needs to stop viewing the amount of color in a persons skin to what they must be because it ignores so much history and nuance. This doesn't mean we ignore White Privilege because we can not. This means we need to start having nuance and dialectical thinking going on. Such as understanding Conditional Whiteness and White Privilege are not the same.

The Left also needs to take Colorism more seriously as a whole and do more to combat and end it.

The Left needs to learn and understand just how much of the world we live in now is built on so many systemic abuses. And that the very foundation of it, no material that the foundation is made of is Systemic Ableism, Systemic Anti-Blackness, Systemic Antisemitism, and Systemic Misogyny with everything really branching off and out from there.

So, a few days ago I wrote a post about my disgust at the rise in antisemitism in leftist spaces in light of recent events. It’s garnered more attention than my little blog usually gets, with a few reblog tags thanking me for my stance.

I can’t help but feel a bit weird at being thanked for what I believe is basic levels of human decency but it really solidifies to me just how far the discourse has fallen that the basic tenets of respect and decency now seem so unusual.

I’ve always known that there was an issue with antisemitism in certain leftist spaces, but I honestly never suspected that it was quite as insidiously ubiquitous as it is - and I realise that is a hugely privileged and naive thing to say.

But when a Hamas pogrom caused the greatest loss of Jewish life in a single day since the Holocaust; when 1,400 souls were brutalised and violated and hundreds taken hostage for the “crime” of daring to live in their homeland and the response from the side of the political spectrum that is supposedly for the freedom and dignity and safety of all human beings was largely a shrug of its shoulders or even worse, cheering on the perpetrators; when antisemitic hate crime, abuse and violence have skyrocketed all over the world since this horror and the Israeli response to it; when synagogues and Jewish owned businesses are being targeted and Jewish celebrities are being sent death threats or being discussed in the most appalling, dehumanising ways for daring to express grief and solidarity with their community and/or Israel, and so much of it is coming from the left, I realise that there is something fundamentally broken and it fills me with a sense of existential dread.

If I, in the extremely safe and privileged position of none of this affecting my day to day life or anyone I know personally, feels this way, I cannot begin to understand or imagine how Jewish people must feel seeing all this shit unfold. I hope this isn’t going to sound patronising as fuck, but I’m honestly in awe of the strength you all have to just live your lives.

You know what irritates me? Text about white privilege (No, it's not that I'm mad that it's said that white people get sympathy more often, because it's true, I can confirm that, yes, I'm white myself, but I've seen so much shit that I agree with that), specifically addressed in the fandom to underage characters, who are victims of their parents (Mean characters who are mean because of toxic relationships or abuse), it sounds weird, like writing off a child for being defenseless because he is white and has rich parents, WTF

I saw it often with Chloe from miracolous, but it also happened with Pacifica from GF, that their redemption or sympathy in the fandom was related to it, people are children, often victims of their parents' abuse (in Pactfika it is the father, in Chloe it is mother), saying that white privilege is disgusting by context, so what, that they come from rich families when violence occurs in them? Are we seriously going in this direction when we attack characters who are children because they do not want to burn them at the stake? (Although Chloe is an accident and the worst thing is that many people defend it, I remind you, she is fucking 14 years old)

Have we seriously gone in such a bad direction that we want children to be harmed because they are white and have rich parents? I wonder if if these nasty characters were non-white, would you feel the same way, because they are also privileged, because many non-white people are not wealthy, so if they are victims of abuse, you should ignore it, because they are too privileged…

Reader is a fellow lantern, cuz I fuckin love lanterns man. Guess who bought comics today? My collection grows.

You and Guy kind of have a reputation around the lantern corps. Its not strange to find the two lanterns from earth up against a wall making out like horny teenagers. Its honestly become a right of passage for new members to catch you two going at it or feeling each other up during missions.

In the beginning the others tried to discourage you two from being so open about it, and you did try to hide it for a while, which resulted in quickies in quickly made constructs or side rooms, but fate was never on your side and you two kept getting caught.

Both you and Guy have little shame at this point, and you just laugh when others look at you two in disgust or shock when they see you two grinding up against a wall. You’ll be polite and throw up a construct, but that’s about it.

Of course, you two never full out start going at it in public, or where there’s a chance for underage people to be around, but Oa tends to be free game.

You both might be dirty horny bastards, but you have some level of standards, and you are both outright insulted when anyone hints at you two being perverts and doing it to target others.

It’s resulted in some of your fellow lanterns having to hold both you and Guy back when you’ve gotten in pretty heated arguments with people.

If the situation calls for it, you two are completely serious too, so its not like it gets in the way of business or missions.

All in all, when Guy starts groping you from behind and grinding up against you, no one bats an eye. Now, to outsiders it looks like you two are switches, which you are, though it leans very heavily to you topping and Guy bottoming.

Guy likes the game of trying to win the privilege of being the one on top, so you don’t make it easy for him when he starts teasing you, groping him right back, or pulling him around the corner to make out with extra biting.

Your friends just roll their eyes when Guy kicks up his teasing, as they all know to some extent which way this is going, as last time this happened Guy was limping for a few days, though he looked very satisfied.

Cut to you two making out again after a mission, Guys been teasing you for days as he’s trying to rile you up. Its working to some extent, and when he feels how hard you are he looks a little too smug.

Of course, that can’t stand, so you flip your positions and shove him chest first into the wall, pressing yourself up against his back. Your physical bigger size makes it easier for you to cage him in.

Guy would half heartedly try to struggle out of your hold, but just end up grinding back against you with that shit eating grin of his, that challenging look in his eyes.

That grin is quickly wiped off his face when you start grinding against him hard enough to force his hips forwards into the wall in front of him.

The grip you have on his wrists keeps him from touching himself so all he can do is try to choke down his noises as you keep pushing him, biting at his neck, and grumbling about how much of a tease he is.

Of course, you can’t allow him to finish too easily, so you end up edging him a few times, slowly working him up with the grinding only to pull back at the last moment. You only allow him to finish after he’s grasping at the wall whimpering and whining for mercy.

You know that’s just him playing, as if he truly wanted it to end, he would safeword. But after he’s been so good, you finally reach down to touch him. Since Guy is already to keyed up, he comes very quickly, throwing his head back and yelling at the top of his lungs.

You finish quickly after that, and after making sure Guy is fine with some on the spot aftercare (some hugging, kissing, and cuddling), you two go back to do your lantern jobs.

The unamused looks you get from your fellow lanterns makes it clear you were nowhere near as quiet as you tried to be, but both you and Guy can only grin and wiggle your brows at them.

given how HB has structured most of its scenes I think it has the same attitude towards violence and abuse; most of the scenes in question don't read like slapstick at all

This was a new level of cruelty. It was one thing to avoid temptation when left alone; it was another thing entirely to maintain control when the blood was being held out in front of it like Tantalus and his punishment.

"Here you are, dear." His voice was more genuine now, a mix of pity and some other emotion it couldn't quite place. It wasn't any of the usual emotions it heard from owners: anger, disgust, or malicious glee.

"Please eat."

"You have my permission."

It hadn't done anything for him yet! It had only just arrived; why was he feeding it now, before it did anything to earn such privileges?

It hesitantly extended one crooked hand to the outstretched bag, expecting it to be taken out of reach at any moment. When it grasped the bag, it snuck a glance at the man's face once more, trying to see if this was truly allowed.

He gave a small nod.

With that encouragement, its control snapped. It snatched the bag out of the man's hands before he could change his mind. It raised the bag to its mouth and bit, savagely tearing it open and greedily gulping the contents.

The first taste was beyond description. It didn't matter that the blood was room-chilled rather than body-warmed, or that the taste of plastic and chemicals pervaded it. To the vampire, it was ambrosia, the finest thing it had ever tasted.

It wasn't just any blood— it was human blood. The best sustenance for a vampire, and the only kind that could fuel a vampire's preternatural healing. It had been denied the substance for longer than it cared to recall, subsisting off the animal blood it was given only rarely.

In moments, the contents of the bag were gone. All that was left was the gore it could feel coating its mouth and chin in messy smears.

Oh.

Oh, no.

No, no, no, it had made such a mistake.

How could it have been so careless, so disgusting as to make such a mess of itself? It could hear its trainer's voice echoing in the back of its mind, reminding it that if its owner was gracious enough to feed it, the very least it could do was be neat while eating.

Do you really want to remind your owner of what a disgusting parasite you are? If you act like a wild beast, you'll be treated like one.

As it tried in vain to wipe away the remnants of its meal (it could lick its hands clean later, but for now it needed to not anger its owner further), it made the mistake of glancing up to see the look the man wore. He was looking at it like a butcher looks at a lamb going to slaughter: dispassionate and assessing.

Like he was imagining where to make the first cut.

With that thought, it finally connected the pieces. The artist, his macabre art, giving it blood.

This was in preparation for a painting. It had to be. Its owner had decided after looking at it that it needed sustenance before he could start any project. It couldn't stop the shiver that ran down its spine at the thought.

To hide the mess it had made of itself, and to show proper gratitude and submission, it bent down. It was already kneeling, so it folded itself over its legs until its forehead touched the floor.

I am really not the target demographic for Red, White and Royal Blue and honestly, the entire premise sounds dumb af from where I'm sitting, but all the gifs that crossed my dash looked hilarious and that main actor is beyond gorgeous, so I am going to give it a shot tonight. good evening my most beloved gyns! you can call me zoroark on here… although my secret name is apollo ( @dykeulous ). i am a 20 year old transguy butchdyke attempting to navigate through life in this cisheteropatriarchal mud of society. i have found myself in-between the trans & radfem community, and although radfem circles generally have more nuance than mainstream trans spaces & allow more free-thought, a lot of radfems are very hateful, mock surgeons & make disgusting remarks about trans bodies & are one hundred percent anti-transition in all aspects. i want both communities to learn how to be more respectful of one another, stop hurling insults at each other & learn to allow for some nuance. we are all oppressed by the patriarchy, because we are all underclass according to its’ lethal function as a system meant to marginalize. as a pokegyns mod, i hope to preach intersectionality in its’ truest form: everyone is privileged and disadvantaged in some ways. we might all be harmed by the patriarchy, but not all of us are oppressed by it, and those who are will experience that oppression differently than others who also are. cis women, transmascs, transfems, detrans people, gay people– we are all considered to be of lower worth in our system’s eyes, so why do we shame each other? of course, not everything can be nice-milk-and-honey, even when doing activism; we must understand that the vital part of intersectionality lays in comprehending the factual reality that oppressed people are oppressed in different ways. oppression is not based on internal identity, and while dysphoria is a real struggle, male-passing trans women will not experience sexism. on the other hand, transmisogyny is a real axis of oppression, as is antitransmasculinity, and as is transphobia as a whole. i do not believe denying this is productive. and while i do believe we need to be able to understand pattern recognition & talk about the ways some transfems might weaponize the levels of male privilege they wield (even passing ones), i think it’s generally harmful & unproductive to spread the narrative that all transfems are agps, that all transfems are abusive sexual predators, or that transfems are “just dirty males who want to invade women’s spaces”. transphobia kills, the radfem tendency to claim that transphobia just hurts people on an interpersonal level is false. it marginalizes people on a systemic level, and often is intersected with other systems of oppression such as gncphobia & homophobia (& obviously misogyny). transphobia is the amalgamation of misogyny, gncphobia, homophobia & capitalist exploitation.

dysphoric people worldwide lack proper care. transition saves lives, but it can also destroy lives– non-affirming therapy is almost non-existent, and when it does exist, it is generally misogynistic (telling dysphoric female people that “they just need to reconnect with girly hobbies so they will feel more womanly”, etc.) & heavily flawed. affirming therapy also tends to be sexist & fails to consider socialization. sex/physical dysphoria is distinct from social/gender dysphoria. sometimes sex dysphoria is innate & neurological, some people might only be sex dysphoric while not being socially dysphoric, others might be both, some are only socially dysphoric (& i don’t think it’s fair to label them as “not truly trans”, although i do think they wouldn’t be post-gender). sex dysphoria isn’t always innate. sometimes it comes with social dysphoria, as the byproduct of it, not the other way around. trans/dysphoric healthcare should in every possible way be improved, as dysphoric people deserve the right to peacefully exist in society, whether their path be transitioning or not. radfems need to stop claiming that dysphoria doesn’t really exist, that all dysphoria is produced by misogyny & stereotypes (although it does influence & sometimes even produce it), and that choosing to transition makes you a terrible person. mainstream tras need to stop defending genuinely abusive trans women, defending transition in all cases, claiming oppression is based on internal identity & painting radfems as fascists. both sides need to learn nuance & oppression dynamics. some radfems have to understand that with their transphobic sentiments, they could end up harming gnc & detrans women as antitransmasculinity targets them too. transmisogyny harms gnc & detrans men. transphobia almost always comes in package with homophobia. mainstream tras have to stop living in echo-chambers & expand their worldview, they need to communicate with the people they don’t like & stop claiming everyone wants them dead. both sides need dialogue, both sides need the other!

this is not an invitation for any more bad faith discourse but after some reflection (and please know I am speaking in generalizations there are always exceptions)

the main reason i wanted language for "transandrophobia" is because of the oddly hostile, shitty, assumptive behavior people project out since post transition.

i've felt misogyny and this is not misogyny.

i got a nice reminder of what being percieved as woman was like the other day because i chose to go out in drag.

people asking where the organizer of the event was, then literally talking over me or acting like i didn't exist, ignoring requests. makeup & a feminine outfit, magical juice that makes your voice inaudible unless you yell. bullshit. Also, misogyny is serious, misogyny can lead to death and violence, transmisogyny multiplies that risk. I don't want that downplayed. trans men can experience misogyny in a way that de-genders us, or misdirected transmisogyny. but there's this other thing.

and it does impact you: being randomly treated like a threat, having bad intent assumed, putting up with hostility for no apparent reason, being expected to put up with put-downs and mean spirited jokes, having trauma projected onto you, being perceived as and told your body is gross, undesirable, being perceived as a creep, or weird and perverted for being or wanting to be pregnant, being assumed unsafe for kids or "sus" because of perceived masculinity.

this is not MISOGYNY. AND GET THIS! these are things trans women experience too /for being perceived or misgendered as masculine or male/ so hear me out:

what if there were a word that could encompass the transphobic demonization of masculinity that is experienced across the artificial trans binary divide? (because intersex people who do not identify as trans exist and can experience this) because both trans men and women also do experience particular flavors of misogyny if outed/clocked. but I really, really really really really need to dig into this:

n, that part of the reason white trans men don't get targeted for as much violence as white trans women is that often we get de-gendered into the category of "woman" which equals "harmless" while trans women are denied that category, and assigned into "male" which equals "dangerous" in TERF ideology but once passable as male, also occupy this territory and experience disgust, vitriol, and abuse. What i am trying badly to articulate is actually that trans people serves AS SCAPEGOATS FOR CIS MEN. PERIOD. like if you see masculinity in a trans person you can punish them for it on a level which people don't feel impunity to do to cis men. trans men can try to retain protection by identifying as women, which trans women are not afforded. so the privilege is not aligned with whom is seen as most woman-like and targeted by misogyny, but with whom can escape being the sacrificial lamb for the violence cis men are not being held accountable for. so this is all because cis men are an (invisibly) protected class - but also the first victims of other cis men, as boys. bell hooks dives into this in The Will to Change. TERF ideology is extremely slippery. it is actually patriarchal to play this "women are the ultimate victims" card even if you're doing so as an attempt to validate trans women. Being perceived as a woman and experiencing misogyny for that is different than the experience of being punished for perceived gender divergence, for violating the holy category of manhood. BUT YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO CALL IT THAT. Patriarchal men refuse first and foremost, to acknowledge they are /protected/ as a class, but this refusal, to equal the playing field, is invisible and creates a culture of intense abuse in the ranks of that class. Its not directly analogous but its like white people refusing to acknowledge they have white supremacist notions and live in a system that protects them, meanwhile tolerating and covering up extreme abuse within that system to ourselves because of this completely baseless assumption that the protection is meaningful.

Men are only protected so long as they play the game, and they get more chances to fuck up. But its more comfortable within patriarchy to treat women as the sacred protected class. To paint women as victims, plagued by eternal suffering. To do so obfuscates both the perpetrator of the violence - we don't have a problem with battered women, we actually have a problem with abusive men, who are equal human beings who can and should be held to task for acts of abuse. So women can appear to fight patriarchy all while continuing it by not perceiving the cisheteronormative, colonial gender binary as a tool of control. Flipping the script logically, that if women are inherently victims, men are inherently abusers. And then this gets weaponized against men of color, used to aggress trans women, and attempt to pass on the patriarchy-perpetuating victim complex to white trans men by getting us to see ourselves as wronged women. Not gonna lie, that got me for awhile. I am someone who was wronged by men (and women) due to misogynist perceptions. I am also someone who has experienced far more alienation, social pain, aggression, and psychological abuse since I began being perceived as a man. And not just from men. No, men actually, have started being much nicer to me comparatively, when I pass until I violate some presuppostion of how men are supposed to act (until becoming fag in their eyes or trannyboy hole or whatever, some are respectful but I do my best not to out myself to men for safety reasons). maybe nicer is not the word, they are kinda mean to eachother, but they treat me for awhile like I'm in on the joke. Of course, I'm not, don't know the material, and am usually hypervigiliant the entire time. no, what sucks is the loss of women's community, exclusion from it, if you really buy into manhood and try to integrate into Dudes World (or gay cis men's world even tbh), its like being alone and sent out to these people you've been taught your whole life are dangerous, and losing your support because now you are dangerous (even if you haven't yet assimilated into toxic masculinity). and then on top of that, people with beef against men, suddenly have a perfect practice target for accountability, punishment, etc. You start enjoying your masculinity and women come out of the woodwork to shit on men and maleness and masculinity and its not the worst thing ever to happen, but its difficult emotion terrain. Especially when they then revoke your right to speak about actual misogyny you did or do experience... Trans men get abused to fuck, y'all, especially Black trans men in America, and trans men have the highest suicide rate among identity divides in trans people. I genuinely hate the co-optation of transsexuality with cissexual gender non-conformity (like being cissexual and using they/them pronouns) because then trans men start getting thrown in with "theyfabs" WHO I MAY ADD, are the "acceptable targets" for people's gripes with women. Non-binary people perceived as male it seems experienced the same kind of things trans men who develop "male" traits like beer bellies, chin clefts, yada yada you know the body parts used to caricature trans women as well, do. I.e. get treated shitty within the community as a proxy for people's issues with men. Do you see? Because of cis men's protected status, masculinity in the trans community can make you the scapegoat. Like when people on here were on one accusing gender non-conforming cis butches of male privilege. Because its easier to hold Frankie accountable and process your daddy trauma on her psyche, than it is to go fight your actual fucking dad or get your rapist a guilty verdict. Its easier to mock the fuck out of trans men than it is to confront how abusive cis society is to trans people and how impossible it is to hold cis men or women accountable. Trans women can certainly recount how they get held responsible for everyone's mommy issues and problems with women, in the community.

One more caveat: I also don't know if I have been conflating my experiences being autistic, with being perceived as a trans man, as a lot of hostility I face confuses me and even my friends and may be due to flat affect, or missing social cues, or something. But it gets compounded with masculinity, instead of being an awkward girl, I am now a "creep" for awkward behavior. I actively intervene at bars sometimes when clearly autistic or DD men are missing social cues, making people uncomfortable, and everyone is being cruel about it, and go talk to them. Because they deserve to know how to interact safely & pro-socially if they want to, not just made into a scapegoat for conventionally attractive allistic cis men whom, we know, have a fucking vice grip on our psyches. I want some avenue of respect that isn't participating in toxic patriarchal culture (losing game), or becoming a lapdog who will beat itself up on command. What I've settled on is taking Mr. Rogers and LeVar Burton as models of masculinity internally while also toughening and hardening up externally to deal with shit, and keeping my emotions to myself in real life (which is why they come out all over the place online), but honestly....I'm a needy, hyper, silly fagboy inside. I hate feeling like the only avenue to become expressive is through femininity that gives me dysphoria sometimes, because people react so weirdly to seeing a tough lookin dude with gay wrists, prancing around. But I'm really fighting it now, tapping back into that spiritual philosophical gender fluidity that is the inherent being of my nature - being queer shouldn't be about sexuality or even gender so much as the right to be who the fuck you are, full stop, whole human being in all complex dimensions, and asserting the right to that for everyone. So idk maybe transandrophobia isn't it, but we need to have better discussions about power dynamics that aren't "woman good man bad" for the love of christ. That's something I wanted to articulated, and now I've stayed up all night doing so. Gnight!
