My thoughts below the cut! Spoilers galore. This is all from my first read through, so we’ll see what changes by the time I finish my second read. I’m still pretty jumbled up about the book (I am physically incapable of opening up goodreads and giving it a rating) and, frankly, I think my notes are going to reflect this! Also, this is thoughts for the WHOLE BOOK, so please don’t open the full post if you’re not done with the WHOLE BOOK.

I’m pasting my notes directly from the doc I took them on while reading , and adding extra post-read commentary when I feel the urge! Also this is your warning that I swear quite a bit in these! For they are candid.

ch1-10:

- i will say i thought the ch 2 epigraph was an inntinnsic clue but now im not so sure bc it’s not that rare it’s just that they kill everyone who has it ??? (commentary from future helena: this is about lilith…right?)

- VIOLETTTTTTTT I LOVE HER she’s so fucking back (CFFH: violets characterization was my favorite thing about this book. i was really scared about xaden leaving because frankly rebecca writes violet best with him, but she held her own so much better than she has in the other two books. i always love her, but she was incredible here.)

- the bits about vi being a good duchess i Knew that was him saying he wanted to marry her (CFFH: this is an example of what i like to call RY’s “gotcha ass foreshadowing”)

- also i have always characterized fen in my head as loving the movement more than xaden i know what’s up

- i’m soooo excited about him being the duke this is so embarassing im pumping my fists

- i am going to commit crimes against humanity your relationship did not just END SJEJEJEJENR R (CFFH: i’ve noticed miss yarros has begun to really lean on chapter cliffhangers, and frankly, it pisses me off. i understand she needs to get her bag with kindle unlimited and all, but it makes for a stressful reading experience imo. however, this one got me. this one got me SO bad i had to take a walk to calm down. i have been looking forward to professor riorson for MONTHS and i was convinced it was crashing and burning before my eyes. maybe this is why i shouldn’t read past 1 am. i know rebecca has given interviews and has said she needs there to be constant tension in their relationship or else there’s no story, and while i know what she means, THIS tension felt so manufactured to me. i also think she could pull off a war story with them just like …together. i believe in her. the story needs tension, but it doesn’t need to be between them like this, imho.)

I haven't seen GF in years but was abruptly reminded a while ago and found your blog and your Pinecest+Stancest posts while looking at the Pinecest tag so I gotta share this plot that's now trapped in my brain. If I got the details about canon wrong, blame the passage of time, not me lol.

Ok I'm sure I'm not the only one who came up with that but: Mutually Unrequited/Pining Stans that both never acted on their feelings and spent the entire separation depressed about it and blaming the way they were hiding their feelings partially for how things went down. Enter Pinecest, only just clocking that this is Not Normal Sibling Feelings.

Stan encourages it when he first realizes it because he never got to even try, but maybe Mabel and Dipper can be happy. So he bullies any boys Mabel brings home, shuts down Dipper's flirt attempts with Wendy & Pacifica - Dipper catches on to his feelings first and wants to prove to himself that he's NORMAL OKAY??? he is, in fact, super not normal, but he'll scream that he is at the top of his lungs - and then Ford returns.

Ford also immediately catches on to Dipper's crush. Because he gets Dipper, and of course, he'd love his twin. He can't see Mabel's feelings as easily because he's insta-transferencing her and Stanley and the idea of her liking Dipper back is unfathomable (read: heartbreaking) because then it means perhaps Stanley could've loved him too.

But he cares about Dipper, so Ford thinks the best he can do is maybe help cut off those feelings at the knees before there's no going back for him, at least Dipper might not totally lose Mabel the way he and Stan thought they had lost each other, might eventually lead a normal non-recluse full of regrets life unlike them. So Ford offers to let Dipper stay without letting on his real reason to do so, and Mabel FLIPS OUT.

The thoughts have been building in the back of her head for a while, and she's suddenly confronted with what she never thought possible. Losing Dipper. And it hurts so so much and then Weirdmageddon comes and things go completely off the rails and now she knows she loves him but he's her brother, the world is ending and maybe he doesn't actually like her at all.

It ends with Dipper admitting to Mabel why he was even contemplating separation and Ford is trying to stop him while Stan has been working for this for months, damnit, and Ford's attempts at shutting the confession down just kill him. Dipper says it anyway, and Mabel thinks she's dreaming, but yeah, dummy, I love you too. How could you even think otherwise?

And seeing their dramatic first kiss totally guts Ford. He's happy for them, clearly, but he wants this oh so much and he can't have it. Stanley is shocked at how much Ford's affected by this development and things just blow up from there, and before either of them know it they're kissing.

Meanwhile Mabel and Dipper finally remember where they are and who they're with and fuck this is going to be difficult to explain - wait wtf GRUNKLES WHAT ARE YOU DOING. Well nothing they weren't right before that.

The rest of summer is an insanely awkward transition period where both couples are trying to work out how to deal with this new dynamic and what it means for their lives, especially for when Dipper and Mabel go back home. But everyone is insanely happy and when Dipper and Mabel come back to GF it's together, to a married couple of Grunkles (in everything except the eyes of the law).

And perhaps someday a - but lbr it'll be two - Pinecest Baby crawls around the Mystery Shack to everyone's delight...

If you truly ignore Byler proof, there's a 50% chance. Because there is a 50% chance that a random guy in Arizona (with the last name Duffer) opened his laptop and typed out "boys kiss" and emailed it to a bunch of actors. For all the talk on how difficult it is to get a single shot, writing that is actually surprisingly simple and fast.

You're convinced that the people in your real life you believe are straight are, and honestly? That's what this is about. You can process that later, but do process it. Mike, however, is completely made up. Fictional. Doesn't exist. He is a puppet controlled by writers with free will. His relationship with a woman has 0 bearing on his queerness, (especially if he's bisexual, jesus christ guys, dating El doesn't disprove bisexuality).

At most baseline of a love triangle I'd say it's a coin flip.

People act like it's harder to write "Mike kisses Will instead" than to write, say "Nancy kisses Steve instead" because of their OWN mental block of him being queer. But there aren't actually any extra steps. All Mike has to do to have feelings for Will is say he does. All Finn has to do is act like it.

It is not as difficult to make a character queer as it is for you to accept them as queer, and that's what people are equating. It does not require any additional effort than any other situation in which one character is wanted by two characters. It is equally easy to put them with either one.

People act like just because Mike doesn't currently have overt feelings for Will that there are lots of steps on the road to that. There aren't.

The most planless, bullshit way of doing it they could do is to say "everything up until now - the I love you, all of it, was 100% true, but in this year and a half time jump, I have developed feelings for Will". A slightly better quality, equally as easy one would be "I believed everything I said and did was true, but I realized during this time jump that this whole time I actually had feelings for Will. I believed my actions but that doesn't make them true." Rewatchable, which we know they want.

Then, of course, the most commonly understood one, "I really believed I/was in love with you seasons 1-4 but learning that Will was the one behind the painting and that he knew me so well and made me feel so loved and felt that way made me realize I love him now." Cyrano, of course. We've seen it before, we know how it ends.

I, of course, prefer the more complicated, and therefore more accurate - and simply more interesting - versions, but this is on the assumption that they did not intend it and changed their minds when they sat down for season 5 or something.

Still easy as hell. So fucking easy. Tell Finn to look goofy at Will, don't even have to right lines about it, then have him talk to El and say any of the above lines. Written as bad as that, it doesn't totally matter. He will then, canonically and from the show's beginning when you rewatch it, be queer. Period, full stop. Tap Finn Wolfhard on the shoulder and whisper "be gay" and your job is done. It is very, very easy, actually.

People think that because represents him, they know everything about him automatically. But there are cases where you aren't him. You're the people around him. And just like them, you think he's straight. There are things I think about him that are projections of me, not analyses of the character. Yours is that he's straight. That came from you, not him.

People only act like it's hard because it's hard for them to wrap their heads around. But these aren't people who are magnetically repelled based on gender attraction. They're barbie dolls you're mashing together. You can pick whichever ones you want.

You may be Mike Wheeler. But the writers are 2x06 Erica Sinclair.

if a character canonically has a crush on another character (assuming it's legal), that means that the ship is a possibility. it's on the table. there's a chance of a relationship there. maybe if one of the characters is 100% canon confirmed not to be attracted to the gender of the other character, you could argue there's no chance, but unless they've outright stated so, it's on the table. it's an option. stop telling us byler isn't fucking possible. call it unlikely if you want - it's still an option now, whether you like it or not. get the fuck off my ass

The road back was quiet. Ellie tried to make some odd jokes, but you didn't laugh at them. You didn't look her in the eyes, either. It wasn't until you heard more WLF guards that you seemed responsive again.

"We should split up" You said, grabbing your bow. "But-" You looked at her, warning her with a glance. "I'll get those two, you take care of the others"

So, you split up. Ellie did as you told her. Before you could tell her she could come out, a man grabbed you from behind. You tried to get off of him, but he started choking you. Ellie screamed, but you couldn't hear her. The man looked up at her, confused. Breathing again, you took the opportunity to claw your nails right on his cheek. He seemed to leave you then. You swiftly grabbed your bow, aiming right between his eyes.

"Stop!" Ellie shouted your name, standing in front of the male. You frowned, bow still raised. Ellie ignored your defiance, and instead knelt down with the man. "She is with me, relax"

"What the fuck, Ellie?" The guy seemed to ignore you too, hugging the girl tight. She whispered something into his ear, and helped him to get up. "You have some claws, woman" Was all he said to you. Ellie then put her hands on your shoulder, caressing it softly. “He is good, I promise”

You still hesitated, but chose to believe her. You and Ellie followed the man to an abandoned theater. A woman opened the door, hugging Ellie tightly. She gasped when she saw you. Looking with almost… disgust at your scars. You look at her with repulse, too. “The fuck are you looking at?” She raised her eyebrows, astounded by your reaction.

“Hey” Ellie grumbled, not happy about your response. “I told you, they are good people. Stop acting weird”

But you weren’t acting weird. She was the one who suddenly was being an asshole. Why she didn’t seem to understand you weren’t going to act normal around them? You didn’t know them. You tried to hide behind the curtains of the scenery, where you found a beautiful floral dress. The next time you looked yourself in a mirror, you couldn't recognize yourself. The braids that tied your hair were now gone, alongside the old clothes. Now your hair rested free. You grabbed Ellie's jacket, the one the redhead gave you to cover yourself days before.

Ellie was talking with Tommy when you came back. Dina was deeply asleep. The grown man still looked at you with distrust. When Ellie saw his gaze look behind her, she turned too. She let out a whistle in disbelief. "Wow... you, you look good"

You laughed nervously at that, playing with the ends of your dress. "C'mon, sit down with us, Tommy made sandwiches"

By the time the storm stopped, Ellie taught you some chords on the guitar, and you showed her how to use the bow properly. The tension shifted, too, after Tommy and Dina understood your escape and earned your respect. Thanks to the radio, Dina discovered where Nora was hiding, and before you could think it twice, you were at the front door, waiting for Ellie to say goodbye.

The rain never seemed to leave Seattle, but you were used to by now. What you weren't familiar was how beautiful Ellie's freckled face was in front of the sun, how her green eyes appeared to be lighter with the natural light.

Before the sun disappeared, you already entered the hospital, where this Nora was. She was the last chance to discover Abby's hideout, because the blonde was completely gone from the map.

Ellie wouldn't admit it, but it was her mistake. Nora took her by surprise, her comment being thrown to her like a hard punch in her gut. "Do you hear his screams?" Ellie ignored your warnings, she was paralyzed, her gun shaking. Nora took profit of that, and ran away. More soldiers were coming after Ellie's failed shot, and Nora was out of sight. You blocked the door, and grabbed Ellie's cheeks, trying to make her listen. "You go after her, I'll keep the soldiers busy"

"I'm not leaving you, no, I-" She started rambling, the loud thuds on the door only making the whole situation way more stressing. "I can handle myself, you go after her, and we leave together, okay?"

It was easy for you to lie. You've been doing it your whole life. People always believed you. And at that moment, Ellie believed you too. She went after Nora, and you were left alone with a whole squad of WLF soldiers. They were strong, but you were smarter. You were aware of how easy it would be for them to enter and kill you. So you made it more complicated.

You found a tunnel that ended in the lower floor of the hospital. A floor plagued by spores. All of them succumbed with ease to the infection. You got closer to their pained expressions, smiling softly and kneeling in front of one of them.

"May she guide you through the storm. May she keep you calm." You whispered in an almost mocking way, grabbing his gun and leaving them there. You didn't bother to kill them, it was the easier way for them anyway. They needed to suffer to earn their rest in the afterlife.

Now you needed to find Ellie. You needed to climb up again to the building, and leave by her side. But destiny chose a different path for you. A stalker heard your steps, and appearing out of nowhere, it pushed you to the floor, ready to chew your soft skin - until a gunshot echoed, dropping it instantly.

Ellie’s voice called your name, shaking, frantic. She stood there, her gun falling from her trembling hands. Tears streamed down her face, thinking she’d been too late. It took you a minute to know what was happening right in front of your eyes. Ellie was breathing the spores, with panic and confusion flashing in her eyes as she looked at you. Neither of you choked. Neither of you gasped.

Confusion flashed between you, but there was no time to process. Clickers screeched nearby. Grabbing her hand, you whispered, “Run.”

You didn’t let go, not until hours later, when the danger had passed, and the weight of what just happened settled between you.

"Did you kill the girl?" Ellie nodded, worthless.

"You breathed spores" You closed your eyes, not answering. You then thought about her reaction, how she didn't look scared, but either calm about it. It was a different reaction from everybody who knew about your gift.

"You did too" was all you were capable of saying at that moment. Silence was welcomed again in the cold room, only lightened by the dim light of the moon. This changed... whatever you had together. Your bad thoughts disappeared when Ellie sat down in front of you, searching for your eyes to look at theirs. She extended her right forearm, where the chemical burn was.

"I was bitten six years ago, and still haven't turned" Tears escaped from your eyes when Ellie told you her story. From Riley to Joel. About the fireflies, the reason to go after Abby.

When she stopped, she tried to ask about your story, nervously. "You don't have to be afraid, I promise. You can tell me."

"Were you bitten?" She asked, breathless. You moved your hair, and showed your bite mark, right above the collarbone. It was faded, just like hers, despite it was hard to see the mark because of the long and deep scar that rested over it. A scar that was exactly like the ones that you had in your back. The scars that still haunted Ellie's dreams.

Ten summers ago

It was supposed to be another day of hunting with John and Ivory, but an ambush of soldiers from the WLF stopped your plan, and after figuring out who you were, you were hold prisoner in Isaac Dixon's cells, the leader of the wolves. He planned of using you as a bait for the prophet to surrender, knowing how loved you were by everyone there, especially for her, for your mother.

But days passed and no one came. Or maybe they tried, but infected were faster. They came out of nowhere, and the wolves left you alone in that cell to rot with them. You screamed for help - you were just a kid, after all - you were scared. And even if scars were already arriving, an infected found you first, and its teeth bit your neck. The infected died seconds later, from an arrow shot by your mother. You tried to hug her, happy she came to rescue you, to save you, but she cried. She cried and started praying. Two of your people grabbed you like an animal and put you inside a small carriage. Your mother told you behind those stretch walls how she promised to avenge you, and how you were going to be returned to the island, where you would be sacrificed. Sacrificed?

You begged for her mercy, for one last hug, for them to end the pain right then, and make it quick. But no pain was more agonizing than the one you felt in your heart. You stopped screaming an hour later. You remember falling asleep on the way back to Haven.

But when they opened the doors from the carriage and saw you, still half asleep, cheeks wet and shivering, they all cried. They all thanked the lord for giving you another opportunity, how you were the chosen one. The one who would stop this corruption and set them free. The one who survived the demon's bite. You weren't anymore the prophets' daughter, now you were their salvation.

You often wished the infection had taken you that day. You were just a kid, desperate for your mother’s love—a love she never bothered to give since then.

Yah so how the fuck did Remus manage to "forgive" Sirius? And why does everyone in the fandom always take The Prank as an opportunity to make Wolfstar angst... Like...no?

I'm sick of seeing posts that are like "Sirius going back to his house and having a breakdown" "Remus not talking to Sirius to Sirius sends him a letter about how sad and depressed he is because none of their friends are talking to him". Oh my gosh. ENOUGH OF THAT 😮‍💨

Oh no, the consequences to my own fucking actions--- No SHIT, Remus doesn't want to speak with you. WHY WOULD HE??? And people just completely shove Severus into the corner as if he wasn't also going through something. This fandom man...

Honestly, I’ve never been interested in Wolfstar, and not because I dislike the characters but because it doesn’t make sense to me. I mean, if I had to choose a pairing for Sirius among his friends, for me, it would clearly be James, because Sirius was literally obsessed with him. He wasn’t just his best friend; Sirius’ entire life revolved around James, and even 12 years after his death, he couldn’t move on, to the point of projecting James onto Harry and getting upset when he realized they were two different people. Look, Molly Weasley gives me the creeps, but she was absolutely right when she called him out, saying that sometimes it seemed like he wasn’t seeing Harry but James—because that’s exactly what was happening.

But beyond that, Sirius shows absolutely zero interest in Remus or at least zero empathy. It’s clear that if there was any glue holding the group together, it was James. James had more sense than the two ringleaders combined, or at least more common sense to know where the limits were. He was also the one who took care of Remus when he had nowhere to go after finishing school. My theory is basically that Sirius hung out with Remus and Peter because James tolerated them, and because having a werewolf friend gave him an excuse to act recklessly. If we look at SWM, Sirius remarks that he wishes it were a full moon because he’s bored. He couldn’t care less that for Remus it’s a traumatic moment each month, because for Sirius, it means going out, living dangerously, and messing around with his friends. What’s a trauma for Remus is an opportunity for fun for Sirius. He doesn’t consider what it represents for his friend; he doesn’t show that his reason for becoming an animagus is to provide moral support. Instead, he’s WISHING for the moment his supposed friend dreads most because, for him, it’s an exciting event. That’s not appreciating someone—it’s seeing them as a means to an end, a tool. That’s pure utilitarianism, not friendship.

Now, let’s move on to the facts. In “The Prank,” Sirius doesn’t care about the consequences. He thinks it’s funny and is totally thoughtless because that’s just who he is—someone who was never taught about morals or ethics and who basically chose a different “side” than his family’s just to spite them. He’s a rebellious and chaotic spirit who despises snobbery, and that’s about it. There’s no deeper philosophy, no deconstruction. Deep down, he behaves like any other Black, believing he has the right to control others—whether it’s ending someone’s life if they’re “stupid enough to fall for the trap” (Severus, in this case), which he justifies by saying they deserved it, or using others for his malicious ends (Remus). It’s James who has a modicum of conscience and who thinks about the consequences, stopping Severus because James was taught values and understands that certain lines shouldn’t be crossed. But also, I think James genuinely cared about Remus and probably understood what it might mean for him to end someone’s life.

Then there’s the post-Hogwarts relationship. Remus is always portrayed as being very close to the group when canonically, Peter was the one who was always trailing James and Sirius like a cheerleader. Ultimately, they chose Peter over Remus to be the Secret Keeper. This happened because CANONICALLY, Remus had distanced himself from the group, and CANONICALLY, it was Sirius who suggested Peter because he didn’t trust Remus—thinking he might have joined the dark side. This wasn’t something that came from Lily or James; it came from Sirius. Sirius was the one who considered that Remus might have betrayed them. Is that really what a true friend would think? How can people even consider there’s chemistry or a sexual subtext between them when canonically, Sirius repeatedly demonstrates that he doesn’t care about Remus at all? He only starts paying attention to him years later, after escaping Azkaban and realizing his best friend is dead, and his personal cheerleader turned out to be a traitor who ruined his life. Then, when only the two of them are left standing, Sirius starts giving him attention—but only because he’s the last one left. That’s it. Even Rowling herself described Remus ages ago as “the third wheel in a two-person relationship,” referring to Sirius and James. Seriously.

And let’s not forget that Remus never doubted that Sirius could be a traitor either—he always believed him guilty. It’s funny when they’re portrayed as missing each other, but missing each other from what? Remus thought Sirius was scum the whole time! And how could he not? He’d seen Sirius be cruel, even sadistic, and show zero remorse. It’s no wonder it fit for him to think Sirius had lost his mind.

As for how Remus handled all this, it’s no mystery: Remus is very similar to Severus in terms of his position. He was a vulnerable kid clinging to any lifeline to keep a low profile and feel safe. Sirius and James provided that safety—they made him feel protected and accepted. He never raised his voice or questioned their decisions because the mere thought of being rejected terrified him. Even as an adult, he keeps justifying their crap because he’s clearly incapable of going against those who gave him a place when he needed it. Remus is also a terribly cowardly man—he doesn’t have the guts to confront things. He has a super avoidant personality, which is crystal clear when he leaves a 13-years-younger pregnant woman because he can’t handle the pressure. A 17-year-old kid has to make him come back—is there anything more pathetic than that? At 38? Sirius clearly hurt him, but Remus knew that confronting Sirius meant confronting James, and if James had to choose between the two, he would always choose Sirius. So it wasn’t in Remus’ interest to speak up or express how he really felt because the idea of losing the protection that came with being their friend was far worse than feeling like crap over what Sirius did. That’s it, plain and simple.

Honestly, it’s such a shame and a total waste that everything gets reduced to couples and absurd adolescent dramas when the dynamics among those four “friends” are fascinating because they’re built on pure power relations and are deeply dysfunctional. But instead of exploring that, which I find genuinely interesting, it all gets thrown away, their personalities are rewritten, and it’s all turned into cheap teen soap operas. But whatever.

I have a few but they are always changing and are often contradictory... i mostly like 'em pining and desperate, dean either non-conning sam or suffering in silence without ever acting on his desires. But since you asked for wincest, i'll stick to dub/non-con ones <3

From the outside, it's their canon relationship. Except dean is forever pining for his little brother, every day harder than the last. Sam is blissfully oblivious to it all - until dean gets the mark of cain and can't control himself anymore.

He rapes sam, repeatedly, until sam's lost consciousness from the pain and blood loss. When sam's body goes limp, dean has a moment of clarity. He stands, head throbbing and body shivering. He checks sam's pulse, and when he's sure sam is alive he takes off, leaving sam's broken body lying on the bunker's floor.

Standing if front of Death, dean is ready to end it all. Sam, for some reason, is not.

In raping his brother, dean tore something in sam's body. He has a permanent limp now, a lifelong reminder of what dean had done to him.

Dean hates himself for it, hates that he remembers every second of it. He can still feel sam's shaking body under him, what it felt like, being inside him. He can still hear the pathetic sounds sam made, groaning, sobbing silently. Begging for him to stop. Dean hates how much he enjoyed it. Hates that he still gets aroused watching sam limp around in the bunker. Wants sam under him again, his body writhing -with pleasure or in pain, he doesn't know.

He tries multiple times to apologise, but sam shuts him down. He says it was the mark's doing and he forgives him, but his eyes don't quite meet his big brother's for a very long time after.

Dean never forgives himself.

It's more or less their canon relationship, with occasional fucking. It's unrequited for the most part. Dean is obsessed with sam, and while sam is nowhere near normal about dean, he doesn't want that kind of relationship.

He does however seek out comfort from dean when he's in pain -emotional or physical. Even then though, it's just watching tv together in dean's bed, and sam shifts his leg, just a little, so his ankle is pressed against dean's under the covers. Or lets dean rest his arm on the headboard behind his head and play with the hair at the nape or his neck. He leans into the touch, but pretends otherwise.

They have sex very rarely. Sam never initiates, except That One Time. It's their first time, in late season 3 before dean goes to hell. After that, it's always dean who makes the first move, but their next time doesn't happen until the end of season 5, before sam says yes to lucifer: dean is desperate, and sam could never deny him this one last wish.

When dean is gentle with him, sam reluctantly enjoys it. It makes him nauseous, but he likes the feeling of dean filling him up, his body's comforting weight and warmth, the light touches. Eyes intense, attention unwavering, focused only on him.

He can never finish when they have gentle sex though. But when dean is rough and he wants it to hurt, when he leaves bruises under his fingertips and calls sam a monster, an abomination, a freak, he comes so hard he nearly passes out from it.

Immediately after, he locks himself in the bathroom and throws up. Even after an hour-long, steaming hot shower, he feels unclean and disgusting. When he comes back out dean is already fast asleep, the angry lines of his face smoothed into a slight smile of satisfaction.

as a trans NSFW artist, the amount of NSFW image-sharing websites which are transphobic and intersexist is too fucking high.

rule34.xxx recently changed the tags of trans_man and trans_women to things like "male_with_vagina" or "female_with_dick"; or they will outright be replaced with derogatory terms/slurs used against intersex people.

their reasoning is that what the original source says, and that what the artist says is "unimportant". they're hiding under the guise that "the mere act of undergoing a sex change does not prove that a character feels that their gender conflicts with their sex."

meaning, even if the original story says that the character is trans- even if the ARTIST THEMSELF *TAGS* THE POST AS ONE OF THE CHARACTERS BEING TRANS- they are considered to be INCORRECT in rule34.xxx's eyes.

on rule34.xxx, no character is allowed to be trans. many, many, MANY NSFW image-sharing websites are the same. Trans Men and Trans Women are not taggable options. However, intersexist slurs are. If you try to tag a post as "trans_man" or "trans_woman", they will instead be changed to something transphobic or intersexist.

this shouldn't be a conversation we should be having. Just because dysphoria isn't needed to be trans doesn't mean NSFW art of trans people should have the transness removed.

Stop ignoring the artists. Stop ignoring canonical queerness. Let trans characters exist in porn. We are not a fetish. We are not a fictional concept for sexual fantasies. We are goddamn people who have fought for way too fucking long to be considered people. We are STILL fighting to be considered people. When we can't even tag our identities in NSFW art, HOW is that considered "trans-inclusive"?

jealousy really is the driving force of DamiTim as a ship. love that for them. love how Tim has the Robin mantle ripped away from him and he has to suffer the jealousy of watching Dick and Damian bond. how possessive over Dick Tim can be, to have him stolen by Dick.

even more so though, is the jealousy from Damian. how on earth do you cope when you finally get to be Robin, a role you've convinced is your birthright, and no one really likes you? every prefers the Robin who came before you? Dick regularly reminds you that he can always go and call Tim back when you act out? like the complex Damian has over Tim is unreal. Tim, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and had everything handed to him his whole life. he never had to struggle or fight for his place like Damian did. Damian has spent his whole life fighting and proving himself, and yet he can't ever seem to truly claw the mantle of Robin away from Tim. even when Tim lets it go, becomes Red Robin, they seem to share it. Tim can slip back into the role of Robin whenever someone like Dick or Bruce need him to, because *he's* the Robin who they need. he's the Robin who was able to find Bruce. he's the Robin that Ra's wants an heir out of. he's the Robin who even Jason respects. in Damian's eyes, everything Damian has fought tooth and nail for, was handed to Tim.

so of course he's going to react to Tim with violence and aggression, especially after finding out Tim has contingency plans for him. no matter how much Damian proves himself, he's never going to be enough, especially not to Tim. and so his deep refusal to see Tim as family, to acknowledge Tim's legacy is all driven by such an angry jealousy. Tim understands aspects of Bruce's legacy that Damian doesn't, like the need to sweet talk and play nice with the elites of Gotham, even if they're corrupt. they exemplify different aspects of Robin, and the aspects that Tim exemplifies are the aspects that Damian knows he'll never fully understand and therefore holds such a deep contempt for. he wants to fight criminals, not play nice with politicians. Tim understands the side of Gotham that's utterly foreign to Damian. if anything, he represents that side of Gotham, to Damian. a pretty little rich boy who's nothing but a know-it-all and not a real son of Bruce. he can't be a Wayne. he can't be Damian's family.

and all of that angry jealousy leading to unhealthy obsession turned a weird, angry crush from Damian is just my bread and butter. that is how DamiTim should be. to me. Damian obsessed over hating Tim Drake so much he accidentally ends up sort of in love with him and that only makes Damian angrier. because he can't prove everyone right by *also* liking Tim. he can't let Ra's win like that, because frankly why wouldn't Ra's be delighted by Damian and Tim getting together. and it builds and builds with angry passive aggression towards Tim that culminates in angry hate-fucking-that's-not-just-driven-by-hate. love and hate are always viewed as opposites in shipping and i think they're the same intense passion just in different directions. and for the best ships, they're very intertwined. what is DamiTim is not the peak of that. "i put so much of myself into hating you i had no choice but to fall in love with you somewhere along the way" core. love that bleeds into hate and hate that bleeds into love. "you make me so angry i regularly passively try to kill you but not with any real effort because who would i obsess over if you were actually gone" core. murder attempts as a form of courting. contingency plans to take each other out as a love language. they're unwell.
