maddie and hen’s relationship is so fascinating to think about, especially in all the ways it’s developed offscreen. like, that’s the sister of one of hen’s close friends, and her best friend’s partner.
they’ve always existed in each other’s circle. they’re aware of each other’s struggles. they definitely care about and sympathize with each other. but it feels like for the first six seasons, they never really had a lot of time to bond one on one (not just onscreen, but also off).
maybe I’m just over analyzing, but it feels like something shifted in between the end of s6 and the start of s7 following the henchim tension surrounding the madney engagement.
basically: maddiehen ftw

what if Danny give no fu-ks
Ok hear me out, Dannys obsession has never truest been confirmed by the show itself (that I remember) I've seen a lot of people say his obsession comes from wanting to help / protect people. But what if he feels as though that he is now doing more damage than good, after all there are a lot of people getting hurt as colateral damage from the chases he has to go on. Or simply when he has to run away from getting captured.
What if one night he was up late and saw a post about a tragedy that happened because he slipped up (it wasn't even his fault, but he still blames himself for everything). And then he starts looking at all the bad comments against him ignoring all the good ones saying how much Danny Phantom has helped Amity. Because Danny is still human and confirmation bias is real. Imagine how he felt the moment he realized that he was causing people to get hurt instead of keeping them save.
Image the desperation clawing at him with the realization that he has never been able to fully manage his obsession. it makes him sad, desperate, angry.
His entire self is filled with too many emotions at the sametime he isn't even able to identify them and catalogue them properly like Jazz taught him.
and then everything stops and he feels nothing.
Completely and utterly numb.
Like his whole reason to keep going suddenly disappears.
And it has.
He gave up on his obsession and now he has to make / get a new one.
But it's not that easy.
This drastic change could've ended any ghost as they run on (live off) emotions.
Luckily because he's a Halfa, so that has given him the upper hand. Unfortunately it makes it so that he is completely devoid of any emotion.
Months go by and people immediately notice changes, the more drastic one is that Phantom went missing, and eventually a lot of ghost that where coming in looking for him stop. Amity Park is no longer populated by ghosts, and slowly the GIW started to retreat from Amity going to another place following a lead that says there are more ghost activities up north.
But those changes aren't the only ones noticeable. Dannys classmates and teachers can vouch that Danny has changed. Most say he was always quite , and others say he looked down right depressed. Danny didn't do much in classes not that he paid attention before. Its just this time it seems that its not out of being sleepy or anxious about another ghost attacking the school instead Danny looks like he coundn't give less of a fu-k about anything.
He never smiles anymore not even when his favorite subjects (mechanics and space) are brought up. Not even a quirk of a smile. The school decided to contact his parents about Dannys new behaviors. That includes skipping classes, not handing in work, not doing the assigned work in class ect....
And its not like his parents havent noticed, they've had more time in their hands since they aren't using hours of the day/night going out hunting anymore. and they have witnessed their son become a shell of himself. They don't know what to do, and they don't want to worry Jazz about it because she's at collage and needs to focus on her studies.
So when the school contact them and told them that the behavior is the same in school they decided major changes needed to happen. Starting with a change of environment.
Maddie and Jack decided that Amity park was too big of a city with too many people. They could nearly see the stars at night because of the light pollution, hence they decided to move next door to Alicia, Maddie sister, home in SmallVille.
They decided it was the best choice, Danny would be surrounded by nature and he could do online classes that would go the pace he wanted. The move was immediate, the day off they packed everything sold the house and moved.
They only stopped to say goodbye to Danny's friends. A small bye and hug later they were on a 7 hour road trip to their new home.
When they got there the old resident handed them the keys of the home and told them to ignore the their neighbors 'The Kents' as they often made a lot of noice and had group gatherings every month.
The one thing Jack and Maddie forgot to double check was if the house was an actual house or a farm house. Sounds similar, but completely different as they now had 2 cows, 16 chickens, 1 rooster, and 3 pigs to take care off.
Danny was put on duty of taking care of the animals, such as feeding them on time and making sure they were healthy. Jack and Maddie made more of the heavy weight as to re building broken fences and fixing the questionable roof.
(The first thing Danny did when meeting all the animals was name them. After all this was about all the interaction he was going to do.)
Danny didn't have time to think about his lost obsession or his lack of emotions as he was now too busy making sure each animal was taken care off.
Marcy and linda (the cows) were danny's favorite they were very gentle and he felt that they could understand him when he spoke to them the stories of his vigilante past.
On the other hand The Chickens were a nightmare, Glinda was cool as she never chased him down. But Matilda and Bethany were a nightmarish duo spiteful too when he was seconds late to the finding time. Mark the rooster was chill he mainly acted as of he was part of the group that needed protection.
Marice, Betty, and Miss Piggy were the chillest of the bunch never gave Danny any trouble when feeding them and always made a point that they loved their new mudbath installation that Danny made for them on his first 2 days on the farm.
A month after arriving at the farm house Danny noticed that mark was missing. Danny looked everywhere around the property and saw him from afar, at the road. So Danny did the sensible thing anyone would do when spotting a run away pet, and that is call their name at the top of your lungs whilst running after them.
naturally Mark the escape artist run the opposite direction. By the time Danny caught up to him Danny didn't recognize the house he was infant off. So with Mark comfortably in his arms He swears he can see a smug look on marks face. Danny turned away from the house to start his walk back to the farm, but he was met with a kid his age looking at him with distrust.
"Ehhh look kid Im sorry to have crossed the properties border but Mark here" Danny made a point to acentuate Mark in his arms "Runaway from me this morning and I've been trying to catch him ever since, anyways I need to go feed the girls"
The kid starred at him for a second "OMG your from the new family in Mr.duncans farm right? in Aver ST.?" and wow the kid was like a ray of sunshine.
"Yea-" Danny could even finish his sentence before the kid cut him off by starting to talk a mile a minute about how he was so exited to meet people his age that lived near by and how farm chores were harder that normal house chores.
"Jon, give him time to respond. Im Damian this is Jon" Danny jumped he hadn't noticed the second kid at all
"Oh yeah... sorry about that what's your name?" The kid (Jon) slightly less enthusiasm, a bit embarrassed if his tone of voice was anything to get by.
"Danny, Im 15" he responded before he started walking away after all he did need to get in time to feed the chickens unless he wants to suffer their furry. Danny shuddered at the memory that popped up in his head.
"Wait!!! I just thought we could be friends cause we live close by u know" Jon said catching up with Dannys steps. Damian was following from behind.
"Sure kid I don't care" Dannys voice was monotone much like it had been for months.
"Hey were not kids for your information, Im 14 and Damians 16 soon to be 17, so if anything you night be the actual kid!" Danny chuckled slightly it was more similar to releasing air from his lips than a laugh.
Soon a quite and enjoyable science encompassed the group as they went to Dannys home.
"Hmm... you're hold on Mark is adequate and the your determination for getting home in time for feeding is acceptable" Damian spoke up after a while of the passive silence.
"yeah and what is It to you" Danny was slightly urked by Damians default setting speach. He told him as such.
Jon blanched before erupting into giggles that sent him to lay down on the grass uncontrollably laughing. Damians right eyebrow quirked up in what Danny assumed was amusement.
Thus a new friendship grew that day.
They often gathered at Dannys or Jons yard to have picnic in the weekends (as Damian and Jon has school in Metropolis on week days) and hangout with the animals. Danny found out that Damian was a vegetarian and that he had various animals at home. One time he brought his Great Dane Titus, who bodied Danny on sight to give him kisses.
Also Damian was Damian Wayne as in bruce Wayne, Batman sugar daddy. When he said that, Jons milk flew out of his nose and Damian choked on his cucumber wrap. Even Titus gave him a judgemental stare.
Slowly Danny started to smile more, laugh every so often. And things were feeling so much better after not being able to feel anything for a while.
Jazz, Aunt Alicia and especially Maddie and Jack felt so relived to see that Danny was slowly coming back to them.
Danny to this day backs the fact that Mark knew something and planned the whole thing.

i thought you would be happy with buck getting his oh moment and realizing his feelings for eddie but i guess you really were sucked into the bucktommy fanon created huh. Shame that you won't be able to enjoy canon buddie when it happens.
This is the only message I am going to answer about this specifically since I initially brought the topic up on my blog.
So, first of all, by definition, BuckTommy isn't fanon. Fanon is a ship or character that is completely generated by fandom. Buddie, for example, is fanon. Although they share a strong platonic bond, their relationship is not textually romantic. They do not kiss. They are not textually established romantic partners. Eddie said in the last episode that he is straight. So Buddie only exists within a fandom context. Conversely, BuckTommy is established as canon. Buck has touched mouths with that man on-screen. They were established as boyfriends and, now, ex-boyfriends. So it is, quite literally, impossible for BuckTommy to be fanon, even if fans do extrapolate, embellish, or reconstruct that relationship for their own pleasure. So, that's number one.
Number Two: According to this fandom, Buck and Eddie have had their oh moments a combined total of six times now at least (3x15, 3x03, 4x13, and 5x11, to name a few) and absolutely nothing concrete has come out of these events. The shooting is the closest we ever got, and that was four seasons ago. I don't begrudge anyone for reading that moment at the end of tonight's episode within a romantic Buddie context. Go absolutely nuts and have fun with it. But to me, that moment, such as it was, was more of the same - Buck or Eddie look at each other a certain way, or have evident (non-romantic) feelings related to the other, fandom loses their minds, they speculate, convince themselves they're right, nothing happens, rinse and repeat. I'm personally tired of the spin cycle.
I said I wanted strides toward Buddie canon to be made crystal clear and that's still true. You clearly see things differently (and that's alright), but outside the Buddie fanfiction hivemind, tonight's episode was not crystal clear. There was no discussion of Buck's feelings. He didn't vent them to Maddie or Bobby or Eddie himself. He didn't say, out loud, or indicate in any explicitly romantic way that he has feelings for Eddie. Buck having feelings about Eddie leaving is not the same as having feelings for him. They are best friends. They are family, actually. If Eddie leaves, Buck is losing the anchor to his support system and his (pseudo-)son. That's a big deal. That is an extraordinary weight to carry, especially on the heels of a significant breakup, and especially while dealing with abandonment issues. There was nothing romantic about that and, reducing that moment to a romantic reading, seems... odd. To me.
I'd like to think I'd still be able to enjoy Canon Buddie if it happens tbh. I actively write fic about those two in my spare time even though I keep my conversations about them to the DMs. But if I'm not able to enjoy it, it won't be because of the ship itself, it will be because I finally tired of the abject cruelty that's cropped up in this space. There's this unspoken rule in fandom that what happens during hiatus stays in hiatus, and we all just silently agree to move on from it when the show comes back. But I'm having a hard time with that this year because I've seen and experienced some absolutely insane things from this fandom the last few months that have stuck with me. So. Maybe I won't still enjoy it, but I hope I will.
I was really angry with the (non-Buddie related) content of this episode when you messaged me, so you probably thought or hoped I would bitch and curse you out, and we'd do this whole back and forth thing that would inevitably lead to you getting blocked. But I meant what I said - I have no interest in arguing with anyone about this show. We're not going to agree, and that's okay. I'm not your inspirational Buddie Warrior, and that's also okay. I have too much to deal with than to actively engage in internet beef. What is is what is, whether you or I or both or neither of us like it, and arguing about it isn't going to change it. So we might as will just learn to live with it and each other as best as we can.
I'm going to go watch TV now.

So I just saw a post about Eddie telling Buck about the change in his will in reference to how that ultimately will tie them together. It got me thinking about all the post-season complaints that he should've done more to show up for Eddie and Chris.
In 4x14, Eddie makes the comment to Evan about he thinks he's expendable. We all know this to be true, and it's something that really continued on with his character (imo) until the lightning strike really started changing things for him.
To that end, I think one of the biggest changes for Buck in s7 was the fact that we get to continue to see him really move into this space of not feeling expendable anymore. He's had his brush with death, and that can really fuck a person up (I speak from experience). I read something else today about how someone had expressed that they would've preferred to have seen other ways in which almost staying dead affected Buck. But the thing is, we are.
He's more assured in his decisions. He didn't just "fall into" this relationship like he did with Abby, Taylor, Natalia (I'm on the fence about Ali). He actively pursued Tommy, not once but twice. Further, when he doubled down on his personal life. For the first time in a long time, he chose himself. And the thing is, when you face death, things become super crystal clear about what you want and need. Being on the other side of that, it's clear for Buck what those things are. Which is why I can't not laugh when I see the "he's still on the hamster wheel" comments.
Honey, on the hamster wheel implies that he's repeating the same cycle. Except, he's the one who asked Tommy for a second date ("i want you to be my date to my sisters wedding"). He's the one choosing to pursue this relationship without the need for outside input ("because we haven't had to talk about it"). He's the one who decided that he wanted to let the people closest to him meet this man ("look who almost made it"). These are active personal choices made by someone who has faced a very scary situation and is now on the other side of it. I promise you, this man is not floundering in what his next steps are (that quite honestly, was his relationship with Natalia). A year(ish) out, he's settled what he knows is right for him. He knows what is and isn't right for him at that point, because facing down the barrel of death in a very real way makes you cut through the bullshit quick.
That doesn't mean he won't still show up for people. He shows up for Maddie, when Chimney had encephalitis. He shows up for Eddie and Chris, as he did in the finale. He shows up for Bobby. I expect he'll continue to show up for Hen as well. But also, at the end of the day, he shows up for himself, and for the man he's pursuing a relationship with. That should be noted as the biggest gain in his personal life, the fact that he has finally realized for himself, that he is not expendable. He's found someone who treats him right, meets him at his own pace, and makes him want to get home instead of needing to throw himself on the sword. and THAT my friends, is so important for personal growth.

Oh my god new fic option? Count me in!! Especially with angst and misery abounding around the holidays. 🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓
And then I’m always wanting more of Buck and Eddie and Shannon, and now we have little Jane!! Ugh, amazing story, love it. 🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼
And then because it’s me I’m also going to request some trans!Eddie if given the option! Honestly, of all of your current WIPs, I think I’m most excited to read this one in its entirety. 🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️.
- Sarah
Hi Sarah!!
Ah yay thank you! 60 for 🐓:
---
It sounds like maybe she actually does want to know. Well… What the hell?
“Uh, you remember Eddie?”
“Your friend?” She asks.
It feels reductive. His friend. But yeah. That’s exactly right. How would she know any differently?
“Yeah, him,” Buck says. “He, uh… He had some bad family circumstances come up and, uh… He had to move back to Texas.”
Margaret’s face twitches with a lack of comprehension. “And that’s what’s got you so down?”
Buck nods. “Yeah. He’s… He’s the best friend I’ve ever had. I miss him.”
“Well, cheer up, Evan,” she says. Not unkindly. Just, a little nonchalantly. “What’s that saying? You know people for a reason, a season, or a lifetime?”
Buck’s stomach twists. It was supposed to be a lifetime. Buck is in his damn will. He’s carved into every part of Buck. What kind of fucking reason or season is that?
“Yeah, maybe,” Buck says anyway. Because he doesn’t want to ruffle feathers today. Everyone else seems to be in a good enough mood. Even if Jee won’t be in approximately forty five minutes. “Thanks.”
“You’re welcome,” Margaret says, squeezing his shoulder. Like she’s solved everything.
⬅️
Whatever good feelings he had from his mother’s efforts earlier in the day are sort of obliterated. He decides to take a nap at the same time Maddie and Chim put Jee down for one, and when he wakes up around dinner time, he can overhear them all talking about him in the kitchen. And, just like when he was a kid, he sits on the top of the stairs and eavesdrops.
“-surprised that this is happening again with Evan,” he hears his mother say.
“What’s happening again?” Maddie asks.
“His moods, Maddie,” she explains. “It’s just like the last time you were pregnant and we visited.”
“I remember that visit being outright hostile, Mom. Today has been nice, I thought.”
“No, no. He’s being fine. Just… Sulking? Mopey?” His dad says.
“He’s had a hard few months,” Chim protests. “Eddie-”
“Is alive and well,” Margaret cuts him off. “I worry he uses things like these for attention, when the spotlight would otherwise be on you and your new baby.”
Buck feels cold. Frigid even.
---
45 for 🔼:
---
“I mean, it feels like I did something. I just have no clue what.”
Shannon gives him a long look. She seems sad. For a moment, it looks like she’s going to answer him honestly. Then her face shifts.
“Nothing. You didn’t do anything, Eddie,” she sighs. “I promise. I just need some space, okay?”
Eddie is worried. Really worried.
“Is something going on?”
“No,” she says. “Please. Just… Please.”
“Do you want me to take the baby?” Eddie asks. There’s enough breastmilk pre-pumped in the fridge because it’s Eddie’s night to wake up with her anyway. “Give you a night to yourself?”
Shannon considers this. Worry flashes across her face at the thought of being separated from her baby. But then she nods a little. “Is that okay?”
“Yeah,” Eddie nods. “Yeah, it will. And if you need me to bring her back, I will.”
Shannon crosses her arms. “Okay. Thank you.”
When Eddie leaves the house with the baby in the backseat later, he feels a pit in his stomach. He has no idea whether or not she’ll be there when he gets back. As unfair as that is to her, he can’t help but think it.
🔼
It’s sort of an unexpected delight to have Eddie and Jane show up after nothing but a brief call announcing their plans to spend the night. Or, it would be. If it were under better circumstances.
Buck sits on his couch, holding Jane in his arms. His thumb gently strokes the soft hair of her head. Eddie paces around on the floor in front of them.
“Something is wrong,” Eddie says. “Something is really wrong.”
“Maybe she just needs a full night’s sleep?” Buck suggests. He looks down at Jane. “You kind of prevent that, huh?”
---
51 for 🧜🏼‍♂️:
---
“I’m not the one being unreasonable!” Buck protests.
He feels bad. He’s putting a decent amount of stress on Eddie. Nearly dying twice. Ceaselessly having issues. Having to continually hide a pretty serious secret. Not that Eddie doesn’t also have secrets. Just… Well, Buck’s is a bit more unbelievable. Plus, because of all this, they never got a chance to tell anyone they’re dating. Even if Bobby definitely thinks they are.
“I know this is really frustrating-”
“Do you?” Buck asks. “Because I can’t be a firefighter. It’s agonizing to shift. I feel like I’m trapped and can’t be two of these huge parts of myself right now.”
Eddie sighs. “Yeah, I do understand that actually.”
Buck’s cheeks heat. Right. Fuck. Of course he does.
“I’m sorry,” Buck says, hanging his head. “That was stupid.”
“It’s fine. I know you’re frustrated.”
Eddie stands to hug him. Buck dips his head down against Eddie.
“I’m sorry,” Buck says again.
“Don’t be sorry,” Eddie says. “You just… You need to trust that this will get better.”
“Will it?” Buck asks.
“Yes,” Eddie insists. “You’ll get those pins out, and it’ll help, okay? I know it.”
“You know it?” Buck asks.
“Mhm,” Eddie says. “I watched you heal a crush wound, Buck. This won’t be the thing that stops you.”
Buck takes a deep breath. “I want to believe you.”
“How about this?” Eddie suggests. “Tomorrow is Saturday. I’m at work. Why don’t you take Chris out to do something fun? Something to get your mind off it?”

Just curious, what do you think about the season 8b speculation that Buck is going to be kidnapped in addition to or instead of Maddie? I'm semi conflicted personally because I so want to see a Maddie lead storyline but don't want to see a pregnant woman get kidnapped idk
I'm pretty conflicted about it as well, because I love a good Buck getting hurt story line and I love him as a character, so seeing him go through that (especially with those people theorizing no one notices he's missing) would be delicious angst.
And I do also think it would suck if it was Maddie, because not only has she been kidnapped before, she currently has a happy storyline going for her for a change, so I'd hate if they forced her into this again, especially if the focus isn't going to be on her and what it means for her, but reactions to it, specifically Buck's.
However, it's that last bit that has me kind of ugh about it, because ever since moving to ABC the show has gotten more Buck-centric. Now, I love Buck - gestures vaguely at all my fics about him - but what makes 9-1-1 so fun to me is that it's an ensemble cast show. I personally adore Hen and Athena (out of the uniform) and Eddie is actually my favorite character, and Chimney and Bobby are very fun. So, seeing them get pushed to the background for Buck doesn't sit right to me.
If they do go the Buck gets kidnapped route and it's going to mostly focus on Buck, I'm a little worried for the future of the show, because I don't want it to be the Buck & co. show, I want it to be the 118 show. However, I'm down for it if they handle it well. Like, if they want to start the buddie route and focus on Eddie's reaction specifically, then it would serve a purpose, or if it was to kick start Buck's no one will care about me spiral (though both can be achieved by kidnapping Maddie, since Eddie can be in Texas so hate to not be there for Buck this time to get his head on straight causing him to spiral, or it can be Buck losing it bc Chris is gone, Eddie will leave and now he might not get Maddie back, so...)
If they go the Maddie gets kidnapped route, it better have a focus on her and what it means for her character to get kidnapped again, while pregnant and a mother, when she specifically never had kids with Doug, because she didn't feel safe. As well as Chimney breaking down, because he went through hell to get Maddie back during her post-partum depression and they had this whole discussion about how scared he was to do it without her and now he might be losing her. Of course Buck is going to feature heavily in this too, because it's his sister and he already lost her to this very thing before, but I would want it to have space for all the emotional reactions, not just his.
I saw someone theorize that they get kidnapped together, which would be fun, since that person mentioned having Chimney's and Eddie's reactions to it parallel, which could be buddie arc start. And I think it could be fun to see with Buck wanting to sacrifice himself for Maddie, because she's pregnant and has a family at home, while he has nothing anymore, which ties into his spiral that will start that is being mentioned in interviews. Plus, you can have Maddie who will always be his protector first, suddenly have to deal with wanting to sacrifice herself, but now having so much to lose and can she do that to Jee-Yun? To Chimney? As well as having the team collectively lose their minds because their Buckleys have been taken.
Anyway, this is a large ramble that doesn't really answer much, but I think in the end, it can be interesting if it's Buck, but I would prefer it not to be unless well executed and a part of me doesn't see that arc getting executed well. Though I also don't like the fact that Maddie is getting kidnapped to begin with. However, I know the fics are gonna be great regardless in this fandom, so I'm clinging to that lmao

What fic tropes do you most want to see for bucktommy?
big fan of hurt/comfort and some angst, which i think we will get.
i want them to be settled in their relationship and be solid and be each other's home, and then comes the angst, but not in a way that threatens their relationship, more like: one of them gets hurt on the job for physical hurt/comfort - i would love to see tommy get hurt actually, and buck stays at his place to take care of him; proof that this capable brickhouse of a guy is not invincible. and he struggles to let himself be taken care of, and evan helps him realise that he has people who care about him - not just buck; maybe eddie visits! chim! hen! he's been on his own for so long he's quite self sufficient but buck isn't having it; this allows for some first fight potential, where tommy insists he can do it himself (bc he doesn't want to be a burden or seem weak) and buck being frustrated and a little hurt that tommy doesn't want him in his space or want his help, which makes buck feel like he's being too much and caring too much.. but they work it out! but maybe before they do we get chim/hen/eddie paying tommy a visit to check on him but moreover spend time with him and also talk things out a bit; tommy realising it's okay to let people in (chim would be perfect for this callback).
and tommy dealing with his asshole father for some emotional hurt/comfort - i just really want to see a less coolcalmcollected tommy, and i think buck seeing that and being there for him and tommy realising he has someone to lean on will strengthen their relationship.
and early season 8 with gerrard in charge is perfect for some emotional support and understanding: tommy being there for buck as he vents. and tommy confronting gerrard (not just about his treatment of evan and the 118 but about who he is and how he does not deserve to be a captain at all) which doesn't go well and brings up a lot of issues for tommy (his past self, his father and upbringing, etc) and results in him being riled and losing some of that cool calm composure buck is so used to - maybe we get buck finding tommy at the gym, or tommy and eddie doing muay thai because tommy needs the release. and eventually we get buck calming him down or tommy running out of steam and breaking down a little.
(this is all very tommy-centric i know, i just want more of him! more screentime! more emotional variation! more character and relationship growth!)
and as much as i want them to be a solid couple, i want there to be moments of uncertainty: jealous buck when he sees tommy is friendly with one of his exes or sees a guy flirting with tommy. tommy being so sure about a future with evan -has never been more sure of anyone in his life- but holding himself back because he doesn't want to move too fast for both their sakes - but he opens up by the end of the ep and it culminates in him asking evan to move in with him.
open and honest communication is integral to their relationship so i don't really want to see any secret keeping, but i could see one of them keeping a secret about the gerrard/ortiz drama to spare the other one worry or to keep them out of the crosshairs. but it won't be a lingering issue, preferably sorted in an ep or two.
also just: gimme friendship for tommy! gimme tommy and chim and hen and eddie hanging out (separately or together) because we know they're friends. gimme tommy and karen, tommy and maddie brunch dates - with jee! gimme tommy babysitting jee and the others! would also love to see some of tommy's coworkers and friends. basically let tommy have some platonic relationships because it's important to show he has a place in the 118 extended family even when evan isn't in the mix, and that he has a life outside the 118 too.
since tommy is a first responder i think it's a safe bet we'll see him working with the 118 at some point - lafd is linked from the streets to the skies - maybe buck doing a rope rescue out of the chopper or tommy rescuing buck and some civilians from a cliffside or highrise. maybe the 118 responding to a chopper crash. so many scenarios they could give us, and i want tommy working with the rest of the 118, too.

Being under the assumption that both Eddie’s and Bobby’s storylines will feature heavily in the last few episodes of the season with fallout and some consequences set up for season 8, I have some thoughts about what I want to see for the show since I’m procrastinating doing anything today…
Bobby – Having to actually physically face someone from the fire, I want that to be a big sign for Bobby to actually start working through his trauma and guilt in a way that doesn’t necessarily lead to a potential relapse story, but some tension with Athena because she can’t understand what he’s going through, how he feels really (similar to when he was helping that drunk driving woman after the pileup from Blindsided). Another thing I want is to see him taking more of an active role in his AA meetings—I want him to really start focusing on that so he can have friends outside of people he’s Captain of, plus it’ll help set up what his endgame should be: focusing on his meetings and helping people who have been at or are at rock bottom because he is someone who can really understand. And he doesn’t need to be a first responder to still help.
Athena – I literally just want her to interact more with Buck. (Though I literally want Buck to interact with everyone so much) If his apartment does burn down or he moves, maybe Athena offers him to stay at their place since Maddie and Chimney are dealing with their own stuff, Eddie’s off on his own, and it’s a bit too soon to fully move in with Tommy). But just imagine the talks they could have over tea late at night, both of them being night owls. They could talk about their careers, how to know when to keep trying for advancement or when it’s okay to be content where you’re at. Plus let’s say Athena gets drafted to help on a case of some sort, bringing home some files along with her notes, only to wake up in the morning to see Buck on his third cup of coffee and a full red string makeshift pinboard set up on the table going through all the potential theories. (Athena wants to be annoyed but also, maybe he’s on to something? And it’s not like he went out and started doing his own sleuthing and digging through someone’s trash so… )
Buck – Obviously next season I just want him and Tommy to still be together and their big storyline is working on continuing to build their relationship, especially allowing Buck to really be there for Tommy in a way that we’ve already seen Tommy do for Buck. I want their relationship to be settled and steady, even with the bumps and hiccups, but ultimately something that settles Buck so he can really focus on his career and what he wants outside of being a firefighter. (Obviously my endgame for Buck is being Captain at a different firehouse, or well on his way to actually being Captain). But there’s so much angst and humor to be had in the background where Buck/Tommy doesn’t have to take up too much space. Obviously the angst of if Tommy gets hurt or just learning about his past (which I have lots of thoughts about) and Buck learning to cope with that, still growing and getting better at direct communication. Which could lead into a funny runner in an episode where Buck goes around asking everyone (Bobby, Athena, Maddie, Chimney) how they handle it when their partner is hurt and how is the best way for him to comfort Tommy after a rough shift because he obviously wants to do it the best way possible because Tommy is the best and always seems to know what to do and Buck just wants to be the same for him—only for him to get his real answer from Karen (because I also want more Buck with Karen and Buck and Hen being siblings next season). Plus Buck could be in random scenes because he’s obviously getting kicked out of Bobby and Athena’s house at least twice a week for their roleplaying nights that Buck doesn’t want to really ask about but accidentally knows too much about, which also leads to him showing up at May’s one night when everyone else is at work or busy and they have that weird “do you know what I know about mom and dad” conversation about what their parents are getting up to. (Plus leaning into May and Buck developing a relationship could also show us a lot of both of those characters because it’d be in different roles than we’ve seen them—May as the younger sister, Buck as the older brother) Plus I absolutely need to see Buck and Carla being friends again.
Tommy – I absolutely want him to stick around and for them to start filling in the gaps of his life a bit more because he is a really friendly person and has buddies and people to hang out with, but he’s also really lonely and I think that’s why jumped all in with his friendship with Eddie and putting his best foot forward with Buck. Just want him around lol
HenRen – My most beloved ladies. I just want them to keep going and having them face outside challenges together, as a team. So next season could be them wanting to officially adopt Mara but it’s their first adoption (where the kid is not a baby) and they want to do this right, not making Mara feel pressured or like she has to accept this. Obviously them juggling Mara and their still complicated feelings about Denny reconnecting with Nathanial behind their backs is a really good story for them, and then what happens if they get more kids, or another case similar to Mara where it’s a slightly older child and it upsets the balance a bit more? I just love the idea of them as foster parents and want to keep exploring that, even if it is “repetitive” because it’s wonderful to see such amazing parents who are actively trying to be the best they can be and making sure to put their kids first. (Endgame for them, adopting a baby girl, which doesn’t make them love their other children less, but it’d be a really nice full circle moment of them with Denny and Nia, to this full-scale family) Would also love to see Karen interacting a bit more with people—I think at least starting with Chimney and Buck would be a really quick and easy way—Buck could be babysitting a bit, coming over for game nights, showing up randomly. Just a way to start getting Karen more featured because she is literally sunshine and I think it’d be really cool to see her talking about her job and Buck’s excitement and how he’d be super interested in it. (And maybe she’s starting to question if she wants to stay at her job, now with the kids and she’s not sure if she’s as excited about it anymore, or maybe she hasn’t fully been herself at work since the explosion… anything for Karen that’s not sad or too angsty because I can’t handle it. Or one of her brothers comes to stay for an undisclosed amount of time causing hijinx.)
Madney – Oh my god… These two need much less angst and just pure happiness forever. But obviously, that’s not going to happen. So what I would love to see is their storyline centered around the next steps for their family, namely whether or not they want more kids. Jee was a happy accident and they’d never not want her, but it does bring up the question of do they want more children? They both have some issues surrounding parental relationships, and while they’ve been working through them and are incredible parents themselves, would they feel ready or able to have another child or more children? Not to mention physically, for Maddie, would she be willing and able to put herself through that again? I don’t know. It’s something that could really give them a lot of meat in a story while not being needlessly overdramatic—Like my hopes for HenRen, I want them to face things as a couple and still support each other.
Eddie – I need him to be getting help. I want to see this story completely blow up in his face because he doesn’t really have a lot of storylines that deal with the fallout of his actions. And this will hopefully be something that is just him making the worst possible decisions ever and then seeing him lash out at people would be peak writing for this character, to watch him build himself back up and really allow him to have relationships outside of Chris and Buck. I know they’re all friends, but Eddie literally doesn’t really interact with anyone else. Would love to see him and Buck on the outs for a bit so they could both have scenes with some other people. Plus I’d love this story to lead to a happily single Eddie, realizing that he doesn’t need to have a partner just for Chris’s sake and that he’s not really interested in dating right now, despite the fact it feels like everyone in his life (his family) keeps pushing that on him. He honestly needs to do a lot of work on himself to be ready and able to be in a romantic relationship because Eddie is actually the worst in relationships—and whether that’s only because he’s still dealing with Shannon’s death and the way he’s clearly romanticized their past or because he genuinely doesn’t want to date or doesn’t know how to date, we can explore. I want to know more about Eddie because from the beginning he’s basically just been Single Dad Veteran and I don’t feel like they’ve really given him much else until this season. Let Eddie be alone so we can actually learn who he is more before he gets into another relationship—or crazier yet, allow for Single Representation Eddie where he ultimately decides he’s happier alone and doesn’t need anyone.
Josh – My endgame for Josh is obviously him taking over Sue’s position at the Call Center—which would obviously lead to Maddie officially taking over Josh’s spot. But like Buck, I want Josh to have a little more stability in his life so he has stuff outside the call center to help balance himself when he does take on that role. Could be a really great way to sort of mirror Buck and Josh—both of them knowing what they want to do and being really great at it but having no real idea of what to do if that’s taken away. Josh sort of stumbled into this job and excelled at it immensely, but sort of at the expense of his own personal life (plus the trauma of his last “official” experience with dating). Whereas Buck’s never really set aside his personal life for his job but hasn’t ever really found that balance of both with someone who really gets him. So there could be a lot to explore with them as an option. I just want to see a bit more of Josh and maybe he gets a boyfriend or at least starts to date again.
Ravi – I have no idea what I want for him other than for him to be around. In my ideal endgame, he’s obviously taking over Buck’s role at the 118, so maybe just keeping him involved in the crew more. Maybe he has a big dramatic storyline for season 8, dealing with his past or getting injured or showing how he withdraws very quickly. I don’t know he’s sort of a blank slate so they could really do anything with him. I just want to see him around more.
Basically I just have a lot of thoughts and wanted to write them all out here because why not.

911 ep 705 first watch reactions
Of course 911 would "punish" the "You are the boss of you!" guy with an alien hand that attacks him, and does what it wants. Pooor Buck and Eddie paying the price for that...
Okay, love the storyline with Hen and Karen possibly eventually adopting an older girl. Too many shows just find easy, unrealistic ways to give their same sex couples kids, and I am really glad that 911 shows the reality of it, and that it is a more complex struggle for many, that it's an act of continuously choosing to be parents. That's actually an amazing, difficult thing, and it should be faithfully depicted and respected, for all of its heartache, and the little moments of triumph.
Buck and Tommy on a date, and Eddie comes along with Marisol? Love how Buck's bisexual awakening and coming out continues to involve Eddie so much. Tell me they're end game, even if they're not gonna get together right now, without telling me they're...
I did not need to learn Marisol is moving in with Eddie like this, with any build up, or even any sort of insight into the relationship, and nope, that does not bode well for them. IDK how 911 managed to do it, but they have somehow managed to give Eddie a love interest the show is even less invested in than Ana.
And the funniest bit, is that Marisol and Eddie's big development is only there to further Buck's journey anyway.
"You can never have too much closet space" LMAO the way 911 both made me laugh, and feel sorry for poor, baby bi Buck. XD
Hmmm. Were parts of this scene cut out? We don't get to see Eddie on his own date with Marisol, but constantly looking over at Tommy and Buck? Boo. I'm glad we at least got the BTS photos, then. But seriously, why!? That was gonna be so delicious.
Oh, Tommy's breaking up with Buck. I mean, good for him, and he ain't wrong after Buck's "after this, we're gonna go out looking for chicks" reaction, but man do I feel sorry for Buck. Him and Tommy might not be my end game (Buddie forever will be), but I do think this relationship could be good for our baby bi. Tommy being in the same profession, knowing what it's like to have this gap between who you are and the image of guys in your line of work, plus he's got more experience than Buck, is sure of himself, can help our boy figure himself out, and also Buck obviously does like his vibe. He deserves to be with someone he actually likes, not just the first woman willing to be with him that the plot pushed in his way.
Oh, baby Buck. :( You didn't even tell Maddie about Tommy. You really aren't ready it. But also (and as a Buddie shipper, more importantly), Tommy broke things off with Buck, but what is eating him up, is that he lied to Eddie. XD Yeah, this gonna end with wedding bells, sooner or later. On screen, off screen after the show ends with canon Buddie, or only in my head if 911 never dares make Buddie canon, I don't care. That kind of emotional devotion is not something that my hopelessly romantic heart can ignore.
OMG, this is how Buck comes out to Maddie? XD Via random pronoun mention, and as a by product of trying to figure out how to tell Eddie the truth? This is hilarious. lol It really makes it clear that, after all, the issue for Buck really isn't people knowing he is also dating guys (or checking their asses), even when it's the other closest person in the world for him, it's Eddie. Specifically. Buck's ready, even if he doesn't have the exact clear words yet, he's just not ready to tell Eddie. Can't imagine why. XDDD
What was that awkward post-sex scene with Eddie and Marisol? And the issues with her moving in are popping up a second after she has. But yeah, we have no idea who this woman is as a person, she's been a cardboard cut out so far, and then one of the first things we do learn about her, is that she would call her stuff better than Eddie's? Once again, this is not the stuff great romance is made of. Or... even just the stuff any kind of romance is made of.
Wait, Marisol was a nun, and Eddie didn't even know!? This whole ep is telegraphing in the news of how weird and awkward and underdeveloped this r/s is, not just for us as viewers who know nothing about Marisol, but apparently for Eddie as well.
And of course his Catholic guilt is gonna kick in now. I'd care, except 911 has given me absolutely no reason to. Seriously, I care more about Buck and Tommy after just 2 eps, than Eddie and Marisol, even though this is technically her 2nd season on the show.
Of course Buck went to find Eddie, and spotted him at the gym. Forever 201 vibes, with Eddie being the focus of Buck's attention. ^u^
I couldn't care less about Eddie's Catholic guilt crisis, and how it's actually a projection of what his real issues are with Marisol, but it's nice to see that as always, Buck's the one who can tell when something's off, and offer Eddie exactly what he needs (even when that's to talk to someone else, but Buck figures out immediately who the right person to address is), and then they just very naturally switch, because Eddie can also tell when something's off with Buck, and he wants to tell him something. Soulmates. THAT is the stuff that great romance IS made of.
:/ The imagery of Catholic nuns has not been around for over 2,000 years, please stop being ignorant about your own religion, and the very different way it looked in its early days.
Bobby is forgiven, he does give good advice, and his "her ex, the Lord" bit, which prompted that reaction from Eddie, is hilarious. XD
So... when Eddie is having issues with Marisol, he already knows he has to figure out how he feels about her, but instead of doing so, he goes to his safe place... Buck's loft.
Man, Eddie being into Tommy's choice of avoidning relationships with women, and hanging out with boys, after in the past, Eddie had dealt with his Shannon issues by running away from her, and re-enlisting in the army, where he gets to hang out with boys, when we all (Buck included) know why Tommy's "hanging out with boys"... I do like that if they want to (and hopefully they do), this further lays the groundwork for Eddie's own queer realization.
Buck and Eddie helping each other with their respective romantic problems, without realizing they are each other's respective romantic solution is gonna make me chew on my own fists. Again. But I'm not even a little bit surprised that Eddie was totally fine and accepting of Buck being bi, or that the first thing he thought of is how this reflects on them. Because their friendship IS way deeper and closer than normal for platonic friends, and Eddie's little reassurance is also an admission of that.
Man, for a second I was worried they also cut out Eddie in the loft, once more putting his thumb on Buck's pulse point possessively, in a perfect parallel to 303. I would have sued for emotional damages. But yeah, it says so much that the peak of emotional meaningfulness for Buck when coming out is in relation to Eddie, and that the scene itself peaks with Eddie, instead of finishing rushing out to take care of his own romantic business, hurries back to Buck first, to hug him, place his hand on Buck and give him orders. "Sure, you're gonna be dating this guy, but I'm still your real husband."
Well, at least Eddie amitted to himself and Marisol that he doesn't actually know her. But... I have never seen two people being both being so happy about not moving in together, and I'm supposed to think this r/s has a chance? Okay. Suuuure.
The scene with Buck going to Tommy to set things straight ready for something was lovely, it was nice seeing him excited, and get to choose, and hear he's wanted. But since the note Tommy and Buck's storyline in this ep should have ended on, is Buck showing Tommy he's ready enough to let others know he's dating a guy by inviting Tommy to come with Buck to Madney's wedding, then why is the very next scene playing the romantic switch again, making us think Buck's car just arrived at the wedding with him and Tommy, only for Buck and Eddie to walk in together? I see what you did there, 911.
Thank you for reading! If you're looking for more, you can find my s7 reactions tag here, and more of my Buddie meta and content in my pinned post. xoxox

Hospital Beds Built For Two
Day 17 of flufftober and the prompt is Only One Bed. Hope you enjoy and you can read it here on Ao3.
“Maddie?” Evan Buckley tried to sit up, but his body protested the movement, and he slumped back down in the bed. His vision swam with the exhaustion that rushed through his body, but he blinked through it. His leg felt heavy and gave a dull throb under the drugs coursing through his system.
“Shhhhh,” Maddie shushed, looking over her shoulder. She crept into the dimly lit room, wheeling an IV pole along with her. “Scoot over.”
With a grunt, Buck shuffled his aching body to the edge of the bed. It was only the railing that stopped him from falling out as he lifted the covers for Maddie.
With her own hisses of pain, Maddie carefully perched on the edge of the bed and swung her legs up. A few whines slipped passed her clenched teeth as she moved, settling into the space beside Buck. She remained sitting upright and then she was gently moving Buck so that he was laying on her stomach, her fingers automatically going to his hair, massaging gently.
Both watched the door, waiting for a nurse to burst in. When none came, they both relaxed into the too small bed.
“There we go,” Maddie said softly. “I’ve got you.”
Two days ago, Buck had been leaving his current job at the garden centre when he had been hit. He had just been about to enter his jeep when a familiar voice, one that Buck hadn’t heard in over three years, had sounded in his ear.
“Hey Bro,” Doug Kendall had all but purred in his ear.
Buck had barely been able to turn when something heavy had collided on the back of his head, sending him crashing to the ground. When Buck had woken up, he had been stuffed into a trunk of car.
It had only gotten worse from there when Buck had been dragged from the trunk of the car only to find himself presented to a bruised and bloody-lipped Maddie staring at him in horror. It was the first time since Buck had seen her in over three years and it wasn’t the happy reunion he had been hoping for.
“If you don’t want me to kill him, you’ll do exactly as I say,” Doug had threatened. “And just to show you I’m not bluffing.” Doug had then stomped on Buck’s leg, breaking it.
Buck had screamed out with the pain and when Doug had thrown him back in the trunk, he had blacked out again. When Buck had come to again, he was being once again dragged out of the trunk and towards what he thought had been a cabin.
“I’m so sorry,” Maddie had sobbed as she helped Buck to the cabin. “I’m so sorry.”
“S’not your fault,” Buck had slurred. “That Doug’s a – a dick.”
Buck’s a little hazy on what happened next, the pain in his leg so bad he kept losing time as he sunk into it. He does remember seeing Maddie covered in blood, hovering over him telling him that it’s all over and Doug laying a few feet away dead in the snow.
Since being waking in a hospital in L.A, Maddie had been by his side in the one bed his hospital room had. The nurses had already kicked her out back to her own room several times, but Maddie kept coming back.
“I’m not leaving you again,” Maddie had promised the first time a nurse had taken her back to her room.
Buck shifted his casted leg into a more comfortable position, sinking into Maddie’s warmth. “You don’t have to keep coming back,” Buck said quietly, eyes getting heavy under his sisters’ ministrations.
“Until they have a room for us both, I’m not leaving you again,” Maddie said simply. “How are you feeling?”
Buck gave a soft hum. “I know you taught me that drugs were bad, but these ones are good.”
Maddie gave a soft giggle and Buck smiled at the sound. “I’m glad they are taking away your pain.”
Buck looked up at Maddie. This close, he could see the bruises marring her skin and the fat lip she now sported. She looked like hell, but they just showed how much she had fought against her ex-husband.
Buck had only learned that yesterday when Maddie had explained why Doug had come after him. How she had left him, fleeing to L.A because that is where she had last heard he had been working. How she had filed for divorce and had started a new life.
“I’m so sorry,” Maddie had sobbed. “I – I wanted to find you sooner, but I was so scared he would do something to you, and I was right! This is all my fault.”
“Mad’s,” Buck had said. “It’s not your fault. Doug was an asshole who deserved what he got. I’m sorry I never helped you.”
Maddie had held him tightly. “No. Never apologise for that. I’m glad you were safe.”
Buck yawned as Maddie’s fingers massaged through his hair. He wasn’t aware that he had drifted until he heard more voices in the room. He was too tired to open his eyes though and simply laid there as he listened.
“So, this is her brother?” asked a male voice.
“Evan Buckley,” said a female voice that sounded vaguely familiar. “Though, he did say I could call him Buck before he passed out again.”
Buck didn’t remember that.
“So, what’s he like? Is he nice?”
“Uh, Chim, I think he was probably more concerned for his sister and the fact that he had been kidnapped,” said another female voice.
“I don’t think that part mattered all that much. All he did was keep asking about Maddie.”
“He’s a good brother,” said another male voice, soft and gentle.
“And she’s a good sister. This is adorable.”
Buck thought he vaguely he heard a camera go off. His leg gave a painful throb and let out a soft groan. He pried open his eyes, blinking away the haze that coated them. He looked down at his leg, taking in the white cast that encased it. Still broken then. He looked up and his heart gave a hard throb as he saw a bunch of people standing around his bed.
“Hi, Buck. Do you remember me?”
The woman who had stepped forward, was looking at him with a soft expression. Buck searched her face for recognition. She had been there with him and Maddie at some point. She had been badass, but her name escaped him. Some kind of Goddess?
“Badass Goddess,” Buck rasped out.
There was choked laughter and sniggers from those standing around his bed, but the woman had only smirked.
“Close enough,” she said. “It’s Athena. Sargent Athena Grant. I was the one who found you and Maddie.”
“Oh,” Buck blinked. He lifted the arm that had an IV in it and showed it to Athena. “I – I didn’t want to do these drugs, but the hospital made me.”
Athena’s lips twitched as more sniggers came around his bed. “That’s okay. They’re allowed to. How are you feeling?”
Buck sighed. “High.”
Laughter spilled out of the other’s, loud and bright.
“Don’t tell Maddie,” Buck said, looking at Athena pleadingly. “S’not supposed to do drugs.”
Fingers moved through Buck’s hair. “I already know.”
Buck tilted his head and found a sleepy looking Maddie gazing down at him. “Oh. Am I hallucinating or are there really people here?”
Maddie chuckled. “They’re here. These are my friends. And, this is my boyfriend, Howie.”
An Asian man stepped forward, giving Buck a smile. “Hey. You can call me Chimney. It’s nice to finally meet you. Maddie’s told me so much about you.”
“Chimney?” Buck blinked. “That’s a cool name.”
Chimney’s smile grew. “Someday I’ll tell you how I got it.”
“Sweet,” Buck said. “They call me Buck at the Garden Centre. ‘coz there’s three Evan’s who work there.”
“Buck, it is then,” Chimney winked.
“I’m Hen,” the other female said, stepping forward and giving Buck a warm smile.
“I’m Bobby,” said a tall man. “I’m Chimney’s Captain and Athena’s husband. It’s nice to finally meet you.”
“I’m Eddie,” said the final man, stepping forward.
Buck eyes went wide. “Whoa.”
Eddie blinked. “Whoa?”
“Whoa,” Buck repeated with a nod.
Eddie glanced around at the others before looking back at Buck. “Is that a good thing?”
Buck nodded. “A very good thing.”
“Would you care to elaborate?” Chimney asked, a sly smirk on his lips.
“Howie,” Maddie admonished but she sounded amused.
“Eddie is hot but – but I’m high so I think I should keep that to myself for now,” Buck said, looking at Chimney.
Chimney nodded, a smile still on his face as laughter rang around the room. “Yeah. Probably a good idea. You could tell him later though, when you’re feeling better.”
Buck nodded and went to speak but another, firm voice cut him off.
“Miss. Buckley.”
Maddie flinched, sinking back into Buck’s hospital pillow.
A nurse pushed through the group, giving them a disapproving look. “Miss. Buckley, you have your own room.”
“I didn’t want him to be alone,” Maddie protested.
The nurses face softened. “Your brother needs rest. As do you. As soon as a room with two beds becomes available, we will move you in. In the meantime, I need you to return to your room.”
Buck pouted. “Can’t she stay?”
“I’m sorry,” the nurse said, looking apologetic. “Time to go, Miss. Buckley.”
Maddie kissed the top of Buck’s head. “I’ll just be down the hall if you need me.”
“I can keep him company,” Eddie offered. “For a bit.”
“Thank you, Eddie,” Maddie said.
Chimney helped her off the bed and Buck slipped into the warmth she had left behind, grunting as his body ached at the movement. Maddie pressed one last kiss to his birthmark before she was being led away, Athena and Hen following leaving Buck with Bobby and Eddie.
“I – I don’t think there enough room on the bed for both of you,” Buck said, looking between them both. “I’m sorry.”
“That’s okay,” Bobby chuckled. “We will just pull some chairs over.”
They did just that and Buck felt warmth pass through his chest as they settled down. “You’re stayin’?”
“We are,” Eddie said, a flush creeping across his cheeks as he smiled at Buck. “Hope that’s okay.”
“You’re whoa,” Buck said. “It’s very okay.”
Bobby chuckled as Eddie flush grew darker.
“You’re whoa too,” Eddie said, smiling shyly.
Buck preened but as a thought drifted across his mind, he frowned. “Oh.”
“Something wrong?” Bobby asked.
“I’m not a first responder,” Buck said. He looked at Eddie with a pout. “Maddie and Chim are first responders and are together. Bobby and Athena are first responders and are together. Could I date you if I just work at a garden centre?”
“Hen’s wife is a rocket scientist,” Eddie said with a chuckle. “It would be okay. And it’s okay with me.”
“Why don’t you tell us about the garden centre,” Bobby suggested.
Buck did so happily. And as he talked, he thought that while Doug had been a dick, he was really glad that Maddie had found a family that cared for her and loved her like she should be.
“Don’t worry, Buck,” Eddie said as Buck’s eyes started to drift close. “You’re part of that family too now.”
And as Buck fell asleep, it was with a feeling of warmth that he hadn’t felt in a long time.

911 8x07 Hotshots
This episode didn’t give me much to work with, so it’s not really a meta post but something in between with my personal opinion. Mostly about Buck.
First of all I want to say that Tim commenting fandom through FlashRob and Hotshots - nice move. Also Bobby storyline - awesome! Love it! So much fun!
BUCK: Too many baking scenes for my taste. 3 time reminder can be a little annoying, but… I thought about it in context to the lightning strike and Brad saying his character is in a coma. Buck knows calling Tommy is wrong, because deep down it’s not Tommy he misses but how comfortable in his own skin he felt and of course the rush of new relationship which allowed him to explore his sexuality. So yes, baking is about Buck not understanding what his next move should be in terms of being bi. The line about which pond to jump into is the quintessence of his dilemma, the core of falling into baking string.  Tommy didn’t teach him anything, didn’t show him queer spaces, didn’t introduce him to people who would make Buck feel more sure/comfortable about his sexuality. Buck didn’t seem to need it, because he felt comfortable with Tommy, and this is what is drawing him back. It can be scary to take that step alone, and while I have no doubt Buck wouldn’t have a problem flirting with guys, I believe he is stuck at the start line, meaning he doesn’t know which guys he can flirt with. It’s not rocket science, but when you’re sitting alone at home, thinking you want some intimacy with a male friend, you suddenly realize you have no idea what to do, where to look, so it’s natural you miss and seek familiarity.  Let’s circle back for a moment. Buck said he doesn’t know which pond to jump into… he didn’t say he doesn’t want to jump at all, or that he’s not ready. And this is why I think his obsessive baking has nothing to do with Tommy and everything to do with his sexuality and understanding himself. He followed an easy path - a guy kissed him (confusing him about his feelings by the way), they got into a relationship and he never analyzed it too deeply what it meant to him. Now he’s left to figure it out by himself. And here is where coma comes into play. Buck is stuck right now, unsure, a little lost. If you want to go further you can say his world has changed and he has to learn the rules anew (like in his dream). The key to waking up from a coma was to realize that being Buck is enough. Well, it’s still true in terms of his sexuality, and I think that calling himself ‘bisexual’ on screen would be a nice end to his struggle and a nice step forward.
It would be really funny if Buck would figure himself out in the same episode that Brad’s character would wake up from coma.
Another thing about Buck I want to mention is more sweet and Buddie related.  The scene in the firehouse, how Eddie steals Buck’s phone, playing hot potato with it. Come on, it’s basically a school puppy courting. If Buck had braids Eddie would be pulling them. And Buck even asked the teacher for help, and Bobby actually had to admonish/tap Eddie to give Buck his phone back. It’s a nice way to show that Buck is not alone, and his family, however savage sometimes, are there for him. It’s also a nice way to show goofy Eddie, the one who tries to be joyful (that little hop over the couch, awww), and it’s easy and natural with Buck. This scene also made me think about what Maddie said: “So does this boy-crush on Eddie mean you’re finally ready to move on from Abby?” I’m probably seeing too much into this, but it makes me happy so… who cares!
Now, I see a lot of people upset about Buck and Eddie being stuck, like there is no progress compared to the last episode. But I think it’s not that bad. These things, figuring yourself out, takes time, and I believe Tim is taking every opportunity to tell their individual stories right. It’s better to drop a few short scenes telling the audience “Buck is struggling, Eddie is choosing joy” than put something more significant into the episode with 2 other big plotlines. I know it feels like Buck and Eddie are on two different paths, parallel to each other, but those paths will meet eventually and we won’t be prepared for that.
We should watch our backs, because something is coming right at us. This is actually the theme of this episode…
Starting with Athena - at that sting operation, when she was told she’ll have a rookie and later when she shares her opinion about him. Gerrard and Bobby have Brad creeping behind them. Eddie get scared by the Chief, and of course his scene with Buck when he gives the phone back (and this one is the closest of them all).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now… I would ignore it, call it a comic relief if that would happen once or twice (Athena with the rookie, and Bobby with Brad), but seven times? Something’s up… And I have a feeling it's about next episode. Maybe someone's past will catch up to them, or someone will hear something they shouldn't, or not being aware of their surroundings will put them in danger... I don't know, there is something ominous about it. Or you know, I missed something deeper in this episode or this is a message for us, fans, like I said, to watch ourselves because we have no idea whats coming. Or maybe... someone is watching us...

“Hey Peach.”
Steve was still standing in the kitchen when he heard the brief interaction, “shit,” he muttered. Immediately abandoning the food he had been working on, heading toward the doorway where the three of you now stood.
He came up behind you moving the door wider to accommodate his protective presence, gently laying a hand to your lower back. "Munson." He nodded, lips set in a thin line and eyes boring into the other man.
"Harrington," he murmured but never breaking his gaze from you.
You eyed him, still unbelieving that he was here and not some phantom conjured up from your mind. You had enough sense left to realize you didn’t want Maddie to overhear anything not meant for little ears. You knelt to her level, gaining her attention as she turned around. "Hey baby, why don't you go with daddy so he can make you some breakfast?”
"Okay!" she gave in easily, as Steve took her small hand and examined you with worrying apprehension. You gave him a small nod and brief smile, letting him know you could handle it. Sighing to himself, he turned, leading them both back toward the kitchen. Maddie looked back with a wave at Eddie, "bye mister!"
Eddie smiled and gave her a sheepish wave and wiggle of his ringed fingers. "Bye!"
You watched as they rounded the corner, turning to him abruptly moving yourself out of earshot and onto to the porch, shutting the door behind you. Effectively crowding his space, he stepped back making room for you both.
“Uh, cute kid.” He half whispered.
"Eddie, what are you doing here?" you sighed, already sounded exasperated by his mere presence.
He started shuffling on his feet, fidgeting with his rings again, trying to put his swirling thoughts into words. “I… Uh…”
“Oh my God!” you suddenly gasped, your hand flying to cover your mouth. “What’s happened to Wayne?” thoughts immediately drifting to the worst possible situation as it seemed the only reasonable explanation as to why the metalhead was standing before you.
He raised his hands in protest and shook his head, curls swaying side to side. “No, no he’s fine.”
“Thank God!” moving your hand to your chest, trying to control the beating of your heart. It felt like it might leap out of your chest at any moment, not just from the thought of something happening to Wayne but Eddie’s sudden appearance shot your pulse into overdrive.
“Then… wh… why are you here?” defensively crossing your arms across your chest.
“I uh… just wanted to talk.” He stated flatly, breathing a heavy sigh.
You shook your head in disbelief. “Talk? You want to talk? It’s been almost 7 years since I’ve seen your face and you think you can just show up out of the blue? What on Earth could you possibly need to speak to me about? This is truly unbelievable, even for you Eddie!”
He shifted his gaze to the ground, unable to hold eye contact, feeling the embarrassment of how absurd it sounded, even to himself. Feeling cornered, your tone immediately making his mind shift into the defense.
“Well, Peach, I see this was clearly a mistake. You’ve got your hands full with your kid. You and Harrington still keeping it cozy. Look, I,” he started but you interrupted him once more before he could even begin with any sort of real explanation for his impromptu visit.
“No.” You spat, harsher than you had intended as your blood began to boil and you couldn’t keep the vitriol from spewing. Years of pent-up emotions seemingly fighting their way to the surface all at once. “You don’t get to do this Eddie.” Pushing your finger into his chest as you spoke, making him flinch with the abruptness.
“You don’t get to come here with some condescending attitude like you know anything about my life. In case you forgot, you left me! And you’re pissed because Steve’s here? News flash, he’s been here! He actually gave a shit about me when you didn’t.” You turned then, reaching for the knob.
He lightly gripped your forearm before your hand reached its target. The heat of his touch mixed with the cool of his rings sent a shiver through you.
“Wait, look, I’m sorry. You’re right, please. Just give me 5 minutes. I know it was wrong to just show up, but I just had to see you.” He wasn’t below groveling. Begging you to just hear him out. If only you’d give him the chance that he didn’t deserve.
“No Eddie! You can’t just expect me to sit here and listen to whatever shit reasoning you have for showing up unannounced. You don’t get to come back whenever you please and expect me to just fall at your feet. I’m not some star-struck groupie that’s head over heels for rockstar Eddie Munson. You’re not a rockstar here, you’re just some guy that broke my heart. Where were you when I needed to see you? Huh?” You looked right into his eyes when you spoke, making sure he heard you loud and clear.  His pleading gaze dashed further into despair. Eyes glossy from lack of sleep and nearly on the brink of tears.
You really regarded him then. Looking like he hadn’t slept in days, noting the dark circles beginning to form under his eyes, his cheeks looked more sunken than normal. He didn’t look at all like the Eddie you remembered, full of life. This person was someone entirely different. Even with all the history the two of you shared, this was a stranger before you now. Life had been good to him, but it wasn’t always kind. The last couple of months have pushed him to the brink of exhaustion in more ways than one.
He relinquished his grip, leaving you free to open the door, promptly making your way in and slamming it in his face. In this moment, he finally realized just how badly he had fucked up. He hadn’t expected what an impact seeing you would have on him. With one more desperate attempt, he used his fist to bang on the door.
“Please Peach!” he pleaded, his forehead leaning on the door.
“Leave Eddie, or I’ll call Hopper to come escort you off my property!” your stern voice muffled slightly through the door.
Tumblr media
Your palms and forehead rested on the coolness of wood, a stark contrast to the heat that seemed to radiate from you. Trying to collect yourself, your breathing became a little more ragged, as hot tears threatened to spill from your lashes. You were thankful you held your composure long enough that he hadn’t seen the cracks that were still there. You preferred him to see an indifferent, uncaring version of you. He had been your first love, first everything if you were being honest and that’s something that you can never truly just “get over.”
Steve approached you hesitantly, the way one would approach a wounded animal. Unsure how you would react. Not used to seeing you in such a state, he knew you hid your emotions well, and this was all too crushing. His heart broke instantly.
“Peach?” he spoke lowly, voice coming out a little hesitant.
At first you didn’t move, keeping your eyes shut, taking another deep breath before turning to your best friend, eyes already starting to rim red as you reached out to him seeking some semblance of refuge.
He immediately drew you into his arms, engulfing you with the comfort you so desperately craved. You pressed your face into his chest as you clawed at his shirt, fisting it in your hands trying to anchor yourself. Choked, muffled sobs reverberated through you as your tears soaked through his shirt.
“It’s ok, I’m here.” He whispered into your hair, as he started swaying, the same slow rhythm he would use while calming Maddie. Placing a chaste kiss to your temple, “You’re okay,” he started repeating.
You stayed like that for a few moments, letting Steve dote on you, trying to bring you back from the brink. You were only shaken from this trance when you heard Maddie’s gentle voice jolt you back to the present.
“Daddy? Aunt Peach?” You saw the worry etched on her small face when you pried yourself away from his embrace, trying to wipe the remnants of your tear-stained cheeks as he reluctantly released his arms that encircled your frame. Making your way over to the young girl, instantly pulling her to you and giving her a bone crushing hug.
“Hey baby! It’s okay,” you spoke in a low, hushed tone. Speaking the same words Steve had used to calm you.
She looked into your eyes and placed her small hands on your cheeks. She scowled, “why are you crying Aunt Peach? Was that boy mean?”
You couldn’t help but giggle, sniffling and willing the tears to stop.
“No baby, he wasn’t mean. It just made me sad to see him. Adults are just… complicated.”
She scowled once more, eyebrows knitted together seemingly trying to decipher what those words meant.
Steve came to the rescue, before she decided to start asking more questions. He took her from you, “alright my girl, let’s go finish your breakfast. You’ve got a big day with Aunt Robbie lined up!”
“Aunt Robbie!” she cheered, throwing her arms around his neck, and kissing his cheek with an overexaggerated smack.
You watched them walk away, seemingly carefree and laughing, leaving you where you stood suddenly feeling cold and empty. Arms now wrapping around yourself as if you were trying to shield what’s left of your heart.
Tumblr media
After Robin had been filled in on everything that had gone down that morning, she dropped what she was doing to pick up Maddie for a girl’s day to give the two of you time to spend alone. Everyone in your small group of friends had been privy to what happened between you and Eddie, so it was no surprise she didn’t try to pry. She simply hugged you as tightly as she could and whispered, “call me, if you need anything.” Kissing your cheek as she left.
Now huddled under your blanket, Steve joined you on the couch stealing some of the cover that you gladly shared.
“You ok?” his warm hazel orbs worrying over your form, his knee nudging yours, pressing himself closer to you.
“All honesty, I’m not sure how to feel right now.” You chewed your bottom lip thinking about your next words carefully. You sighed, looking up to the ceiling tears threatening to spill once again.
He reached for your hand, with a gentle squeeze. Ever patient, never pushy, waiting for you to talk when you were ready.
“I keep replaying this morning in my head. Why did he have to come back? It’s finally convenient for him to talk?” You shook your head, “I just don’t get it.”
“I don’t know why he chose to come back now Peach, but he’s here and there isn’t anything we can do about it, but I can see what’s going on in that brain of yours. I doubt he’s trying to torment you. That’s not Munson’s style. At least it wasn’t back then. The way you guys’ left things it was bound to happen one of these days. Not that anyone expected it to take him this long to come crawling back.”
You kissed his cheek and laid your head on his shoulder. “Stevie, I don’t want to talk to him. I don’t want to see him. I don’t want anything to do with him.”
He returned your kiss with one to the top of your head, as he spoke gently into your hair “and that’s ok. No one said you had to.”
“The funny thing is, he thought Maddie was our daughter. Got all defensive about it, like he has any right! Acting jealous like he used to about you when we were younger,” you laughed out. “I didn’t correct him though.”
Steve huffed a small laugh, but his voice held no humor when he spoke. “She’s basically yours, you know? Been here longer than her own mom now.”
“I know Stevie, but no one can ever replace her mom.”
He grabbed the remote, turning a movie on that you hadn’t finished from the night before, ending the conversation because he knew where it was headed. Efficiently distracting you from reality for the time being. Just you and Steve in this bubble you had made, that held only the two of you and the rest of the world faded away. He had a way of making you feel safe and loved that no one else had ever matched. Your Stevie that would give anything to save you from another heartbreak.

When Eddie had fallen asleep, your face was all he could picture, he dreamed of that day that tortured him repeatedly, always on replay when he let his guard down.
He woke up 3 hours after his head had hit the pillow and hadn’t been able to drift back off. He didn’t want to shut his eyes if all his mind could conjure were visions of the past. Mistakes and regrets rattled around his brain until he could lay there no longer.
Still slightly buzzed from the Jack he had finished off, he padded off to start some coffee, wild locks swaying with each step. Still in the wee hours of the early morning, the sun not yet ready to rise, the house was still and dark. He tiptoed past Wayne’s room trying his best not to disturb him.
He decided to drive out to Lover’s Lake, with coffee in hand sitting on the hood of the rental, he watched the sun rise above the glossy surface. Lighting everything around him, bathing the new day with the sun’s golden rays. It was peaceful. Nothing like the hustle and bustle of the big city, and exactly what he had been missing.
“Fuck it,” he said to himself.
It was a rash decision to go to your house. But it was as if his body was stuck on autopilot, with an overwhelming need to see you, acting as if he were hijacked by some unknown force watching it all unfold.
When you slammed the door in his face, and turned him away he stood there stunned, unable to move or think, until he heard the muffled sobs. He had done that to you. He had intruded into your life without any regard for how it would affect you.
“So stupid.” He muttered to himself and rubbed his face. “So fucking stupid, Munson!”
He wanted to be the one to shush your crying and wipe away the tears. But instead, knowing that Steve would come in to save the day, he did what he does best when he can’t face the things that make him uncomfortable. He turned heel and ran back to the waiting car. Driving out of your neighborhood like a bat out of hell seemingly trying to outrun all the feelings that came along with seeing you face to face.
He couldn’t go back to Wayne’s yet; he knew the old man would notice his demeaner and start asking a million questions. The truth would eventually find its way to him, and Eddie knew he would never hear the end of it. He wasn’t even sure if Wayne knew the whole story between you two, never mentioning it but he had a sinking suspicion that he did.
Hawkins was just beginning to wake up on a sleepy Sunday morning. With nowhere to go, he sat in the parking lot of the Hideout. It wouldn’t be open for another few hours, so he was stuck. Stuck in his feelings. Stuck reliving the past.
He should never have come back.

Just finished s7!!! Right on time✨
Now did I cry when Eddie said goodbye to Chris? Yes, yes I did.
But here's my thoughts about the last two episodes:
- Eddie Diaz : the whole thing with Kim was actually crazy of him, but her playing Shannon?? That man has a reason to act like a mad man but girl what are YOU doing?? That was a quick expedition out for Marisol too, Buck and him see to have a way to make girlfriends disappear this season.
- Chris Diaz : valid. I get why he thinks it's better for him to be away from his father for some time, it's probably a good thing actually for them to have space to breath and accept what happened. But the Diaz parents?? Ramon shit talking about Shannon every chances he's giving (he literally did it at her funeral that man has no shame), and Helena acting like she just won lottery, please at least ACT like you're not happy to take Chris from you son. Honestly if my own mom wasn't sitting right next to me I would have been insulting both of them so MUCH.
- Hen Wilson : I'm mad that they were all going to be happy and then that woman whose son hasn't been mentioned since like ep2? comes to take her revenge out of nowhere. When I saw Mara all closed on herself and quiet when Hen visited her that broke my heart😭 then at the end the emotional whiplash of Chris leaving, instantly followed by the Wilsons getting reunited with Mara, ouch (is it like 'a soul for a soul' but with family, like they CANNOT be happy at the same time??), also I know the plot was for Gerrard to come back, but I love Captain Wilson, and I wanted her to take after Bobby
- Chimney and Maddie: they're relatively absent from the final 2 eps so I don't have much to say, I loved Chimney calling Gerrard trash to his face, and I loved Maddie. I just love Maddie.
- Buck : such a good husband for his chaotic dating-the-doppelganger-of-his-deceased-ex husband... He was just so supportive and trying to help, gosh he's just so cute. But MORE IMPORTANTLY where's my angst?? You're telling me Bobby's in a coma, and all we got from Buck (who's basically his son) is one line of dialog AFTER we know Bobby's going to be alright? Sentence immediately followed by an awkward sex joke argh!! My favorite thing about 911 is Bobby and Buck's relationship and I don't know if it's just an impression but i feel like they barely had any interaction this season, I missed them, I need more of them!! Also all things considered Buck had quite a quiet and calm season, which does feel weird and not something that will stick
- Athena : she mentioned Emmett and I was just woop crying incoming! I'm not gonna dwell on the whole cartel thing, I'm sure people already express so many opinions on this, my real question is how many times can Athena break rules before getting a problem with the hierarchy? (ik she did in s1, but since then she's been pulling some sketchy moves from time to time with no problems afterwards). Also ik the house was going to burn but I hadn't thought of the implications, that they would loose all the memories and stuff and that's so sad, I totally get her panic about wanting to get everything that's on her phone to still have SOMETHING.
-Bobby : please bobby never leave the 118, maybe they could handle it but I couldn't, so please don't leave ever.
(-Tommy : whether you ship them or not, the last scene we got of them together (dinner at Buck's) should start an alarm in your brain about their future together, specially once you consider Gerrard's come back. Tommy literally says that Gerrard's the closest things he got to a father figure when he was in the 118, and that it didn't help him be a better person. (ik he's not saying he saw Gerrard the way Buck see Bobby but he still acknowledge that he saw him as a model of some sort), that's the online line 'acknowledging' Tommy's past actions, but also showing that he followed Gerrard's lead, and we know Buck is not going to appreciate Gerrard's way of leading and this definitely could be a big cause of conflict between Buck and Tommy...)
It feels weird to finally be up to date, and to know killer bees will attack LA in two days😭
I FORGOT RAVI!!
He was there for 3seconds but still, I was so happy seeing him, and ik so far it doesn't seem he'll be back in s8 for some time, so I'm devastated

Okay, so, I don't know if I'm typing this out to make myself feel better because I can't believe THIS is the thing I'm gonna be right about in this fucking show BUT back in May last year, I added some tags on a post about how Buck is in Eddie's season 5 arc, so he would break up with Natalia pretty early on and Eddie and Marisol would go off to build stuff together (It's the only post I can find that proves I had the thought before all this because I don't know if I put that in a meta or not, I think I did on a post talking about how Buck and Eddie mirror each other narratively, but I cannot find it) but the thing is, season 6 for Buck mirrors season 4 for Eddie, which would put them in season 5 but from Buck's side. It was the main reason I kept saying I believed Natalia would have the same treatment as Ana, and go away early on in the season to open space for Eddie's journey of self-discovery, which is what happened, Natalia went away to open space for Buck's self-discovery journey. I was betting on a Buck breakdown, but bi Buck works. Why did I had that thought the second Eddie called Marisol in the s6 finale? Well, Buck and Eddie are literally running parallel to each other but slightly misaligned. You have tiny things like the way the first loss on the job for both of them is someone falling to their death, but Devon didn't want to live and the gross dude did. Or the shaky relationship with their parents that runs opposite because Eddie had too much responsibility placed on him while Buck was literally treated like he was invisible. Or more aggressive things like the way the well mirrors the lightning (set on that if you need help visualizing), with the way both of them volunteer into the rescue, the well is in the middle of nowhere, Buck gets struck in the middle of the street, Buck is in the sky, Eddie is underground, the rain aspect, the 118 as audience, they are even on mirrored sides of the frame, and I think even the way Buck needs to choose to get out of the coma mirrors the way Eddie saves himself. There's also the breathing things since Eddie almost drowns and Buck's lungs stop working. The well mirroring the lighting put Buck in season 4 for 6b, the "'I'm fine' *narrator voice* he wasn't fine" era, which would put Buck in season 5 now, the "I'm dealing with what makes me who I am" era, which he is, go Buck.
Well, this works with love interests on a ridiculous level. We have the ABSOLUTE MADNESS of the way Shannon comes back, next episode Ali shows up, Shannon dies, next episode Ali is gone, Eddie meets Ana, Buck keeps complaining about the struggles of being single (while Maddie totally sets him up with Josh, because now that Buck is canonically bi, the fact that they are in blue and green is too on the nose for me to ignore), nothing comes of Eddie and Ana, they both stay single, Eddie asks Ana out, next episode Buck is dating and Taylor comes Back, Buck starts dating Natalia, Eddie starts dating Marisol. The only ones who are not aligned are the breakups with Ana and Taylor, because Buck chooses to hang on for too long. We also the way they have the first love who left them and never really gave them the closure they needed, we have the inconsequential girlfriend they only got because people kept telling them they had to move on. Shannon works for Eddie the same way Abby works for Buck. Ana works for Eddie the same way Ali and I guess Natalia do for Buck. That means Eddie needs a Taylor. Someone he meets on a call who comes back later on. Check. Someone he's supposed to work with in theory but never had a real fighting chance. (I say that because if Taylor were as intense about Buck as she is about the job, they could've been a very interesting installment of golden retriever boyfriend/black cat girlfriend, but they never try). Something about their personal journeys is that Buck tends to take longer to learn, while Eddie tends to need a stronger hit. Buck's takes more time and Eddie's tends to be more intense in a sense. Like the way Shannon dies and Abby just leaves, but they actually kinda paint Buck as hung up on Abby all through seasons 2 and 3. Or the way Taylor goes away for a whole season, just to come back and stay for 3 half seasons. So the Marisol of it all. Taylor had more dept in the helicopter than Marisol has right now, but sure, let's say the point here is to make Eddie do something stupid in the name of not being alone. Because that's what Taylor is. The whole time, Taylor is about Buck being scared of being alone, even hooking up with her the first time is about how he didn't have Abby to hang on to anymore. Taylor and Buck are also fundamentally incompatible.
Again, I know nothing about Marisol. They gave her no dept beyond being a glorified babysitter. Nothing in her relationship with Eddie so far has been about Eddie and her. Even their dates seem to be something that will be about watching other people. I don't wanna say buddie canon, because Lucy is her own category (I miss her) but, Eddie looking at Buck and Tommy and making the very harsh decision of asking her to move in "I'm gonna die alone" moment, I don't wanna say makes sense, but could work, even more considering that the Buck/Tommy/Eddie/Marisol date seems to be mirroring the colors of the Buckley-Diaz family + Taylor dinner in outside looking in, and the next episode is a madney episode. It's the same progression of events. I doubt Eddie is gonna cheat and panic ask Marisol to move in, but they are not so on the nose with the actual storyline parallels. I don't have the brainpower to come up with any theories about what he might do, but considering how rocky his relationship with Buck could be, considering the last episode, I can absolutely see Buck triggering that (that would make me accept I am right and Eddie is aware of his feelings and I won't give that up even if the show explicitly says he wasn't) because Eddie's abandonment issues make him overcorrect. And that's never a good thing. Do I think Marisol is going past the season finale? No. Eddie's understanding arcs are usually shorter than Buck's. How would she leave? No clue. The fact that Taylor hurt Buck's family, in a literal sense with Chim, and the focus on her relationship with Chris as someone taking care of him, also the ominous shots of Chris and the whole theory that Chris would get hurt last season makes me scared tho. It could be something that's not her fault that she doesn't reach Eddie instantly, like, Chris cuts himself or something and she doesn't call, that can even work to push Buck and Eddie closer, and put buddie explicitly in a parental role together. My brain keeps saying appendicitis for some reason, but no idea why, maybe I just don't want to believe the show would make someone purposefully endanger Chris. Eddie kind of snapping in a hospital makes sense? Let's say Chris gets sick while at school and someone calls the house trying to reach Eddie because he's not answering and he chews her off. But that's just like, the only thing I can come up with with the correct energy.
So, yeah, Marisol is Taylor. I'm too tired to keep typing, but I can't believe the one theory I don't fully type out is the one the universe is gonna give me oaksoaksoaksoaksokasa
If you read this I love you. I don't know how this made you feel, but I hope it makes sense.

Hello everyone, It's Vi! 💕 I had some 'Shoto vibes' today so I decided to write something about him. As always I hope you enjoy! Please comment, like or send me requests on my DMs (I don't know how it's called on Tumblr jajaja)
All characters reservations yo Horikoshi
Warnings: toxic relationship (not with Shoto) and swearing but fluff💕
~Always~ ShotoTodoroki
Tumblr media
• Shoto and y/n had been friends since they entered the UA. Well, actually that's not so true...it took time for Todoroki to get used to others but the more he knew her, the more the walls he had put around himself where trembling down. It was a slow process but Shoto realized his days were better when she's around and that he smiled more just at the thought of seeing s/o but those things had nothing to do with his growing feelings for her...right?! He indeed liked her as more that a friend but she wasn't supposed to know about this till it was too much for his heart to take
• One of the reasons He never made a move (a part from being a coward) was because she already had a relationship or more specifically a toxic relationship. For someone who wasn't given enough love and care as a child, he could see miles away how terribly it was. She was always the one who ended up hurt by the asshole's sharp and cruel words, the one who took to much space and time and that would never be enough for him not matter how much she tried. He treated her as something that belonged to him, something he could show off to his stupid friends. He had so much power over her when he laughed about her dreams of becoming a hero in front of everyone saying he'll let her play the heroine but they all know she'll be just his pretty wife. And everyone was laughing, except her and Shoto, who wanted to throw up.
• With all he might, Todoroki wished to take her out of that relationship (and burn that idiot alive but that wasn't too heroic, was it?). However, y/n, who had such a beautiful soul, too kind for this world and even more kinder for that man, always ended up forgiving him and justifying his actions after the promises that 'he'll change, he'll grow, he'll be better' (quoting Maddie here hehehe)
Shoto had witnessed how abusive behaviors and unhealthy relationships could take an amazing woman to madness and he'd known that even if that asshole didn't fiscally abuse her, his words caught deeper than a knife. She tried so much to hide her low self-esteem but Shoto knew her better than she knew herself. He could see behind that fake smile and those eyes filled with sadness, how much she struggled to save her soul. At first, he had tried to convince her about leaving him but the last few weeks he came up with the idea of showing her how she should be treated. Not only the material things but the acts of service like making her favorite tea when she was studying or heating her hand when she was cold and the attention her boyfriend lacks off giving like just listening what her worries were or how her day went and remembering all she'd said by heart. It actually was not much work, he already did that but he added more enfasis to the lingering touches that she seemed to reciprocate. Shoto was sure she noticed his longing stares when they were watching a movie or how his hand always found hers when they were in a crowd room (cause he knows she hates being surrounded by many people) or the blushing mess he became when she'd found staring for too long. Todoroki could tell something in their friendship was changing and he couldn't be happier if it werent for the fact that the dickhead was still present in her life...
• However, He had enough when one night in particular that idiot decided to visit at the doorms and ruin their weekly movie marathon (the one Shoto and y/n always did in the common area when everyone was already sleeping but her boyfriend didn't have to know that she cuddle him under the covers that they shared) Apparently, he had important news to deliver so he proceeds to enlighten the mood by saying that he was offered an amazing job abroad and that she didn't have to keep on attending to that worthless school with those wannabe heroes and that she needed to hurry cause their plane leaves in three hours. Y/n open her mouth to protest but he interrupted her like always. To that idiot surprise and Shoto's too, y/n took a few steps closer to him and shouted 'STOP FUCKING TALKING! I'M TIRED OF YOU AND YOUR TWISTED GAMES. STOP LAUGHING ABOUT MY DREAMS AND MAKING ME FEEL LIKE I'M THE PROBLEM WHEN I COMPLAIN. I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU! I'VE TOLERED TO MUCH OF YOUR BULLSHIT. I'M TIRED OF PRETENDING THAT I LOVE YOU CAUSE I DON'T. AND I WON'T GO ANYWHERE WITH YOU EVEN IF YOU WHERE THE LAST MAN OF EARTH. SOMEONE HAS ALREADY TOOK THE PLACE YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD IN MY HEART AND SHOWED ME THAT I'M WORTH LOVING SO FUCK YOU!'
The room was silent and Shoto took this opportunity to grabbed that asshole and take him out the residence. Y/n will never know as Shoto would take it to the grave, that he had frightened her ex so he'll never come closer or even breath the same air as her EVER again
When he entered, he saw her trembling figure and the tears rolling down her cheecks and all he could do was embrace her body in hope of giving some comfort. Her face was against his chest as he caressed her hair delicately. Suddenly, she looked up at him and said 'I know its bad...you don't need to save me but would you stay by my side even after the storm?'
And Shoto responded firmly without a pause and without a doubt but with his entire being 'Always' and hugged her even harder
• A few days later, after things had calmed down, he confronted her about what she'd said and she confessed to him even if she wasn't sure that he'll reciprocate, she was glad that she found someone as great as him to love.
Shoto's had enough time to figured out exactly what he felt towards her so he make it his life mission to show her every day why he was worth of her love. No one will ever hurt her ever again and God forgive who'll try...

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to guest blog!
I want to talk about authentic representation in literature - it’s something close to my heart and can be tricky to get right!
Funny enough, when I started writing my first book, I didn’t plan on including a love story. I had one in mind for the sequel, but it was for a totally different character. Annie, my main character Sarah’s love interest, was originally supposed to be her rival—someone to clash with. But as I kept writing Annie, I couldn’t help but fall in love with her character. So, I pivoted, and their romance ended up becoming a key focal point of the story.
When I started developing their relationship, I knew I didn’t want to rely on some of the usual tropes like “will they, won’t they,” “enemies to lovers,” or even a “slow burn.” I know, I know—those tropes are popular for a reason, but I wanted to explore something different. I’ve always been drawn to stories where the romance doesn’t end with the two characters getting together, but instead shows what happens after. Like, what does their love look like in the day-to-day? The growing pains, the quiet intimacy, the sweet moments—it’s the stuff we experience (or hope to) in real life, and I wanted to capture that. I always find myself wanting to know more (looking at you, Saff and Maddy).
And I know I’m not the only one! Most fan art and fan fiction depicts the ongoing relationship and how they wish for it/imagine it to be after the story has ended.

But wait—doesn’t that get boring? Where’s the drama?
Here’s the thing: I don’t love drama for drama’s sake. It feels forced, and honestly, it pulls me out of the story. For example, I was so excited about the sapphic relationship in the tv show Station 19. I even skipped ahead to the season where it starts because I couldn’t wait to see how Maya and Carina’s romance would unfold. I loved how Carina’s character helped Maya grow as a person. But then…(spoiler alert) they had Maya cheat. For no good reason! It soured the whole thing for me. I couldn’t keep watching, even though I knew they eventually got back together.
Forced drama like that doesn’t feel authentic. Fiction is fantasy, something we like to get lost in, and when authors/writers throw something in simply to get an emotional reaction, it pulls us out of the world instead of reeling us in deeper.
“Good writing doesn’t need to kill the dog to make the reader feel something.”
- Me, who will die on this sword.
Instead, it should make us feel deeply because it’s honest and relatable. Authentic writing makes your heart pound, your stomach swoop, your eyes well up, your pulse race, your temper flare, your fist pump into the air. That’s what I hope readers experience when they see Sarah and Annie’s relationship unfold in The Fleet Admiral’s Daughter.
Take a situation like this: What would you do if the person you love decided to move somewhere you didn’t want to go? Maybe not outer space (like Sarah and Annie), but it’s a real question. Do you follow them? Do you stay behind? Is your love strong enough to take the leap? These are real-world questions that I think a lot of readers can relate to, even if the story is set in a futuristic, sci-fi world.
I saw a meme recently that was humorous, but it got me thinking about how some people still have these wildly skewed ideas about what same-sex relationships are like.

To me, showing a sapphic couple as just a couple—full of ups, downs, twists, turns, and, most importantly, love—feels like a step in the right direction.
At the end of the day, I want The Fleet Admiral’s Daughter to show readers that love is love. It’s universal, whether it’s between two women or anyone else. And it’s not just about representation—it’s about crafting stories that feel authentic and human, even if they’re set in space.
My hope is that Sarah and Annie’s love story will resonate with readers as both extraordinary and relatable—an example of how love, in all its forms, can transcend the stars.
Hope to see you all in the Space Legion soon!

If you’d like to see how Sarah and Annie’s story unfolds—and experience a sapphic love story that’s grounded in authenticity and full of heart—you can check out my upcoming book, The Fleet Admiral’s Daughter, releasing on February 4, 2025.
But if you can’t wait until then and want a little taste, you can download Duty’s Edge, a free novella that introduces Sarah’s journey and her first meeting with Annie. It’s the perfect way to dive into their world before the adventure truly begins!
