Random Halt headcanon time:

Halt has Emetophobia (pretty sure thats what is called, but I'm too scared to search it up to check because I also have it and I don't wanna see photos), and also that snake phobia thing. I'm too lazy to search it up.

Part of the reason he gets seasick isn't just because of nerves, its also because of his emetophobia and he's worried other people are going to be sick, and that effects him. It takes his body a while to realise he's the only one.

His snake phobia thing started because since he grew up in Hibernia, he had no experiences with snakes, but the first time he did, it was traumatizing. Little Halt had gone to a different country with his family, asked to climb a tree while they were having a picnic somewhere, and while he was pulling himself up onto a branch there was a snake, Halt screamed let go of the branch, fell out of the tree and broke his arm.

Some of this I have mentioned before, the little Halt story I mentioned in a fanfic with Halt and Pritchard but I felt like making a bigger post.

Im developing trust issues from that AP math exam..

#i love math but somehow i always end up arguing with the math teacher abt the formulas and it stresses me out when i know something is wrong #yet everyone reassures me that nothing is wrong and maybe i was calculating it incorrectly #then i start to think maybe they're right #i tell my friend showing her why i was certain something isnt adding up and she pointed it out to the teacher #only then she realised some WAS ACTUALLY WRONG #and that was from a random class lesson months ago #during the exam today i found a question where there's oddly no answer #i checked double checked triple checked even drawing it to make sure that i was doing everything right #i asked the teacher supervising our exam if there was an answer to the question #he texted the math teacher and she said there was an answer and to recheck my calculations #at this point there was still half an hour left in the exam so i sat there redoing my calculations over and over again #started tweaking ngl #i asked my friend afterwards and she said that she got everything right #but what about that question without an answer???#she shows me how she did it and i realised the formula she was using was for clockwise rotations (the question was looking for counterclockw #idk whats going on but now i have trust issues everytime i do math in school #excuse my math vent

okay after a week of working on it i am kind of tempted to post my otherkin hrt comic

the only issue is it is.

a lot of pages.

i'm going to see an apartment i really really like on wednesday (it is SO BIG! right in the neighborhood i like best! outside building is beautiful, on a tree-lined street, hardwood floors, so many windows!!) but i like. am trying to keep myself from getting too attached ahead of time bc it's just like a littleeee too expensive and i really should be realistic and get something about 100-200 dollars cheaper. but i love it soooo much, i want it so bad lmao.

#liveblogging life #it's a two-bedroom but it just squeaked within my budget #but plus utilities parking and pet rent (?) it'll be about 100 dollars over what i want to pay #and even then it's still on the upper range #like i can afford it - i double checked - but it means i'll have to be more careful with spending cash #and i'll only be able to put so much away in savings #idk man i'm kind of waiting until after i see it bc maybe i'll actually hate it in person #but it's going to be a serious debate on if i want to spend that much more on rent for a bigger beautiful apt #or if i'd rather save my cash on a smaller less beautiful apt so that i can buy other stuff and save for a house faster #bc like. i'm probably not going to move again for a while so wherever i go i want to make sure i really like it #and like this apt i have now i do really like but i did have to choose it bc i didnt really have any other options #whereas now i am pretty much an ideal renter so i think i have my pick of the litter so it means i can really afford to be choosy #idk idk this is stressful lmao #i have like eight showings scheduled for next week im hoping one of them seems like the one so i can go ahead and apply #also like if im going to end up spending so much on an apt shouldnt it be for an apt with a ton of amenities? like a washer/dryer #or balcony or community rooms or s/t. arghhhhhhh.

got out of work at 2:30 today SLAY!!!!

#god I fucking love my job #I got so much shit done today too!!! send in a draft of my first ever court complaint! sent my first ever demand letter!#gave some great advice! and closed like 10 cases that I’ve been meaning to close #now I’m ALONE (!!!) at my boyfriends apartment and I can smoke and know peace and quiet #amazing Friday #and earlier in the week I got another good hearing decision and represented another client at 2 double header hearings last minute #(did have to continue the second one though smh)#I’m so happy I was able to help her she’s a really nice lady #feeling slay #also that demand letter I feel like I’ll end up going to trial for which will be cool. scary but cool!#but she is homeless I hope they just give her a fat settlement check so she can get back on her feet

considering making a post about how horatio is... used? accounted for? in the productions of r&g are dead that i've watched and listened to cause 3/4 (not counting the movie) have, as almost certainly unintentional consequences of their choices, gotten me thinking about that one post i made and frothing at the mouth a bit, in different ways

#not today cause i'm sleepy but. perhaps tomorrow (as a distraction from the work i actually have to do)#ragad #rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead #the ones i'm thinking of specifically are:#ntl (2017) having their horatio be double-cast as a silent extra in the background of some scenes with r&g talking to the king & queen #players' ring having the Player play horatio at the ending #and the 2007 radio drama having hamlet read out his letter to horatio during the pirate attack (to help explain what's happening)#but then cutting his lines at the end entirely #and ALSO cutting “he that thou knowest thine” from the letter. which... i'll save my thoughts for the post #UPDATE: i just looked on internet archive for the original radio play production from 1978 to see if it did the same as the 2007 one #and it basically does re: the letter #(including cutting ''he that thou knowest thine'' - though i think now i get why (why in the not brain-rotty sense that is))#but it does basically the whole ending bit of hamlet starting from some of the prince's last lines #so horatio does get to be the one who closes it out #i doubt he shows up any earlier - based on the credits he's not doubled with anyone - and i'm not checking to find out

hi i hate adobe premiere and adobe audition thats all

#no its not ur gonna read the tags and find out exactly why i hate them #because i get these for free because of my school or whatever right so i have to use them for my classes #and as a film major #i use these A LOT #and i am in THREE production courses this semester (two is the most ppl usually take at once but i decided to make my life hard)#so as u can imagine i have a LOT of projects to do that require premiere and audition (the video and audio editing suites from adobe)#AND EVERY FUCKING TIME #i always end up with half of my footage mysteriously disappearing EVEN THOUGH i triple save everything and make sure its all there-#-before i close the program SO LET ME KNOW HOW WHEN IM POSITIVE MY SHITS RIGHT HALF OF IT IS GONE THE NEXT DAY. HOW. HOW DOES IT HAPPEN.#it also just decides to like ruin al my projects right #so today for example #i wanted to add some reverb to an audio track right nothing major literally so simple #and i go to hit apply #AND AUDITION JUST ??? REMOVES ALL OF THE SOUND ALL TOGETHER???? WHAT????#i was so lost #i saved my project and went to submit it and ONCE AGAIN it is soundless but it says an audio is playing but theres nothing #so i go back to audition and everything fine!#i double check how i saved i looked up the proper save procedure just in case i did something to just not save the audio #which again- how can i possibly save a SILENT AUDIO FILE like thats literally just a file of nothing #so i decide fuck it its 3 am and im tired im just gonne record the finished audio file in my VOICE RECORDING APP ON MY PHONE just in case #if i have to whip out my phone during class to present this im actually gonna stand in front of a stampede of bulls

i just started a new puzzle magazine this afternoon of 'suguru' something i hadn't tried before

i'm 25% of the way done with this

i've done almost 40 puzzles this afternoon/evening

would recommend suguru

#it's really easy to pick up!! said as someone who's never done one before today #the only hard part is it's not so obvious if you've made a mistake #like in sudoku you can read the columns down quickly at the end and go yep that's good #but in this one my only method so far is actually checking the answers to make sure i did it right after i'm done #i could probably double check myself but that would take longer i imagine #...admittedly i am working with mild double vision so everything seems a bit harder to see today #i'm not sure if this magazine just doesn't scale #like easy to hard #they're not labelled or anything #but they've been really easy #i've gotten stuck on maybe 2 or 3? but only for a few minutes before i saw the way forward #also i saw nz puzzler does kakuro magazines which i did not know #i am going to keep an eye out for that

Tldr; small rant about the deli getting my order wrong+anxiety associated with similar situations.

How do I explain to someone that I feel like screaming and crying just because the guy at the deli cut my order incorrectly? And, that I'm willing to give it away/throw it out because my brain won't let me eat it if it looks wrong?

I was really looking forward to a nice oven roasted turkey sandwich, and now I just want to throw it all away.

#im just crying because i did everything right. i made sure to speak clearly and annunciate. and he cut it the exact opposite way i asked.#he's probably new and that makes it even worse because i cant be mad.#they usually ask or double-check if they aren't sure how people actually want it. he didnt so i assumed he knew what he was doing.#I HATE thick deli items. especially turkey. but i also HATE food waste. so this sucks twice as much!#i guess im mostly mad at myself. that i didnt go back and tell him to do it again. but i was already paying by the time i realized #plus. going back to hating food waste. sending food back was a huge “no-no” growing up #so my anxiety spikes whenever something is wrong with my food. because i feel i'll be forced to finish it regardless #ex:#(my mom found a thumbtack in her food once and just set it aside and continued eating.#she only mentioned something because the waitress noticed when she cleared our plates)#this anxiety is also why i eat my meals really fast. if i ordered something i ended up hating i would still be forced to eat it.#so i adapted by eating every meal very quickly. if i eat quickly i can trick my brain and stomach into “enjoying” a meal i would be #otherwise unable to eat #It's not healthy. and it definitely doesn't always work 😅 but it's the best solution i've come up with so far
