Suddenly realized that despite having the order of various events planned, I didn't actually have many adventures for the very very start of Runaway City AU. On trying to think of where Roxas could go with the Twilight Town teens, I some how ended up with the crack idea of Vanitas being *around* and just kinda trapped in one world for the past decade?
Anyway so Kirby is Vanitas' therapy dog now I guess!

Obey Me! Random Headcanon #7
The Brothers' Favorite Anime
Lucifer
Well-Known - SPY X FAMILY; he thinks it's cute and appreciates the sentiment of being able to live in a happy family despite the secrets hidden away. For obvious reasons, he relates to Loid the most.
More Obscure - THE CASE STUDY OF VANITAS; he likes the portrayal of vampires and likes to compare it to Bram Stoker's Dracula. His favorite character is Dominique de Sade, whom he refers to as "tragic and feisty."
Mammon
Well-Known - ONE PIECE; he's just one of those people that loves to scream "THE ONE PIECE IS REAAAALLLL" and likes the treasure-hunting aspect combined with the camaraderie.
More Obscure - BLUE EXORCIST; funny, right? He used to mock Satan every time his name popped up until the couch was destroyed. He thinks Rin is cool and argues with Lucifer all the time that he's better than Yukio.
Leviathan
Well-Known - SWORD ART ONLINE; Levi likes the concept more than the characters if he's honest, but he thinks Heathcliff is a total boss.
More Obscure - THE EMINENCE IN SHADOW; like many people who watch Isekai, Levi thinks the tropes start to get a little too copy-and-paste after a while, and he appreciates the parody. He loves Cid and goes into great detail to explain why the anime is genius.
Honorable mention - SAO ABRIDGED because Levi also loves it 10x more than the original even if it's fan-made.
Satan
Well-known - BLACK BUTLER; A revenge plot mixed up with detective stories and a cruel demon butler that loves cats? He vibes with Sebastian and would like him *just a little more* if Levi hadn't pointed out that he looks like Lucifer.
More Obscure - MORIARTY THE PATRIOT; it's Sherlock but anime; what more could he ask for? When asked who his favorite character is, he usually can't decide between the Moriarty's because he likes all of them for different reasons and usually says William by default.
Asmodeus
Well-Known - INUYASHA; Loves it for the romance and thinks Inuyasha and Kagome make a great couple. He even likes the "Inuyasha... Kagome... Inuyasha! ... Kagome!" moments.
More Obscure - KAGUYA-SAMA LOVE IS WAR; Wants to kiss half of the cast because they're beautiful and will sometimes yell at the screen when Shinomiya and Shirogane misunderstand each other (he ships it hard).
Beelzebub
Well-Known - VIOLET EVERGARDEN; he cries every single time, but he loves it because Violet reminds him of Lilith, and he likes how it has a hopeful ending.
More Obscure - FOOD WARS!; It's literally a cooking show, and he couldn't be happier. The fanservice often goes over his head until one of his brothers mumbles something about it, at which point he might feel embarrassed.
Belphegor
Well-Known - JUJUTSU KAISEN; he likes it because it's more on the dark side; his favorite character is Mahito and has remarked at least once that he thinks it would be fun to carry humans in his pocket like that (he said this specifically to scare you).
More Obscure - MAOU-JOU DE OYASUMI; he loves this series because it's all about his favorite past-time. He often writes down what Princess Suyaris says, muttering "wow, I never thought about doing that..."
Tumblr media
-- Caramel: I have watched a lot of anime. It was difficult to narrow down a list of more than 80 to 14, but I hope you enjoyed! --

Give me 2 seconds of your time, and let me talk about Vanitas from Kingdom Hearts.
I love this character, and not because "Oh he's this edgy goth lad" or something- No- I love his story, and I want to see more of it.
---SPOILERS---
This dude was one of the Original 13 Darknesses. They used to be physical beings before they shed them to being a darkness hive mind.
In the process of doing their EEEEEVIL plan in Union X he was the one set to take over Ventus, our pure light lad. Because of the events of Union X, the two end up becoming one being, equal parts light and dark.
Then Xehanort came along and went "Oh ho ho let me fix that-" (Kinda) but he originally wanted Ventus to tap into that darkness so he could take Ven's body. When Ven couldn't, he decided to change up the plan and make a being of Pure light and Pure darkness. Creating and Naming Vanitas.
Then Xehanort LITERALLY TORTURED Vanitas to make him "Stronger" making him believe the only way to make the pain stop is to fuse with Ventus and create the X-Blade.
Now KH3 does a funny, and those versions of the characters are literally 2 seconds before death YOINK to the future. So that's Vanitas before Ventus got them both. (I know it's confusing and not very clear) So like 3D said, Vanitas is still in Sora's heart during the event's of KH3, prob cringing at his past self.
Back on topic, in KH3, Vanitas states that he is his own person, and that Ventus and himself are brothers. While Ventus before was in denial and accepted they were the same person. Now in KH3, Ventus is still under that idea, that he needs to take Vanitas back to get rid of him.
So a little thing here. He went from his own person, to something of a hive mind with others and loosing his body to accidentally becoming someone's puppet and gaining a body once more, then to realizing he is his own person once more- WHILE THE GOOD GUYS TRY TO MAKE HIM GO BACK TO BEING VENTUS- (Like a HIVE MIND- BUT WITH ONLY 1 OTHER PERSON-)
AAAAHH- It's a circle of pain and rediscovery!
I hope Sora can break it! And I wonder who Vanitas was before getting rid of his physical form... (We know his eyes should be Red! But because of Xehanort they are Yellow!)
Idk, he's a really interesting character, and I hope we get to see more of him in KH4! :D

ROUND ONE: POLL #14
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ROUND 1 ALL POLLS [HERE]
PROPAGANDA BELOW
Noe Archiviste/Vanitas:
light spoilers for the main plot + the quotes are pretty meaningful so they count as spoilers too ig
they were made for each other, literally. When they first met, the first thing they did was fighting. hell, noe even said he didn't like vanitas as a person. they're a human and a vampire. they're almost always together, and their relationship grows gradually and in a very beautiful way, at least to me.
vanitas, who despises himself to the point of pushing away everybody, starts letting himself go with noe, who believes in him, and quite literally said he'll never leave him alone (as vanitas' concept of freedom is being alone). ah also they're doomed. since the first ever chapter, noe says that he will kill vanitas with his own hands, and the whole series is narrated by (future) noe's pov. in fact all the chapters are called "mémoire" and each have a title.
idk if it counts, but i'll leave here some quotes from both of them.
vanitas:
“I have absolutely no interest in the sort of person who would fall for me.” + "It’s revolting! The thought of someone falling for a person like me…”
“…Why… can’t I… kill… Why!? Wh… why…?” [referred to noe]
“If I— …get to choose how I die… If I can… wish, then… If I’m going to be killed I want Noé to do it.”
noe:
“That… was the beginning. This is… the tale of how I met Vanitas… and how we walked together… Of all we gained… and lost… And of how… at the end of that journey… I would kill him with my own two hands.”
“He’s bad-tempered. He always does whatever he wants, arbitrarily. He doesn’t care whether he gets hurt but he can’t abide others getting hurt for his sake. He tries to isolate himself by pushing everyone away. —I see. When he says ‘free’… does he mean ‘alone’?”
“My name is Noé!!! I am not ‘that Vampire’!!!! Listen to me, Vanitas. I refuse to be what you want me to be. I will never set you ‘free’!!!”
Elim Garak/Julian Bashir:
The actors both consider the ship to be canon and have actually preformed fanfiction with the characters as a couple before. It called "Little Achievements" and it's posted on Sid City's YouTube page.
Andrew Robinson (who played Garak) has straight up said that multiple of his lines were delivered with romantic intent.

AHHHHHH! NEW CASE STUDY OF VANITAS CHAPTER! ITS BACK!
Oh yeah that's right we were in the midst of this Dham arc.
Well time for some all too relatable pain as Dante and Johann have to deal with being questioned and assaulted by THE LITERAL CHURCH
The chapter was really good. Like, it fucking hurt to read, but it was so good. Having dealt with mostly just Roland the human Golden Retriever and Olivier his dog-handler, and of course everyone's favorite traumatized murder baby Astolfo, it was different to see these Chaseurs as the cold and calculating killers they are. It wasn't over the top, it was simple "We are gonna hurt you and maybe kill you cause we can, whether you tell us what we want to know is irrelevant. No one here will stop us, and as long as no one knows, we won't get in any trouble for it."
Like, "Oh yeah, these guys ARE terrifying assholes, I forgot."
But the dialogue about the Dhams really hits this chapter.
"They're a real eyesore"
"They dress like they're advertising themselves as Dhams"
"Dhams should make like Dhams and live in the shadows, holding their breath"
And then Dante's internal thoughts, the fleeting hope that someone will come to help,
"Who exactly is someone"
"Who'd show up for us?"
"This world treats us like it can't even see us."
And he goes for the gun in his jacket... God it fucking hits. I say it every time, but so much dialogue in this manga can just have the names of things and people swapped out and you could believe it applies to so many marginalized groups. It feels more authentic than a lot of manga and stories I read. Don't know why. That's just probably my queer ass reading too much into these chapters as my own experiences, but fuck. I won't lie that I felt the connection with Dante keeping his gun in the same inner jacket pocket I keep my knife in my jacket. The same jacket with pins that people say I'm "advertising as queer" with. Johann fucking pleading for Dante not to draw his gun cause he knows his partner is gonna die if he tries. That these church goons are looking for an excuse to pin them as the aggressors so they can execute them.
And right as shit is about to happen, Domi shows up. DOMI!!!!!!!
Perfect way for Domi to start making up for her casual prejudice against Dante and Johann earlier. Domi sticks her neck out for them, against 2 FUCKING CHASSEUR PALADINS OF THE CHURCH! Like, yeah Domi is fucking awesome and powerful and an influential vampire noble, but 2 Paladins? They could kill her if things go wrong. But my girl is still here sticking her neck out for Dante and Johann. Congrats Domi, you have a chance to use your Vampire noble privilege to finally be the Dham ally you thought you were.
I love it. I love this manga so much.

Knowledge in VNC : About Noé's eyes
So, we all remember that when Noé was very, very young he was injuried in one of his eye right ?
Tumblr media
While people wonder why his left eye specifically, I might have the answer to this.
In latin, left is said "sinister" but in french it gave the word "sinistre" which means omnious and therefore lead to countless surpestition of left briging you infortune, on why you should never eat with your left hand, or that the wrong decision is always to choose the thing in the left etc. This comes from the Greek since Roman saw the left/sinister as a sign of good fortune and since VNC is full of latin/french reference it might be why.
Anyway, that answered. I'd like to point out something. In the Opening 1 of VNC, 空と虚/The sky and the void, towards the end of the 1st chorus, those lines are mentionned :
その目に僕は見えるでしょう?But those eyes can see me, can’t they?
You migh wonder why there would be such a focus on vision. Well, for a long, long time vision is associated with knowdlege which is why the word "blind" can have the literal meaning of not seeing things and the figurative meaning of not seeing them in the sense that you are ignorant about it despite the answer being right under your nose.
So to explain this I'd like to use two mythological reference : Oedipus and Tiresias.
Oedipus is know very infamous for giving it's name to something Freud called Oedipus complex, but in Sophocleus's tragedy, Oedipus king, there is an interesting play between the vision and the knowledge thanks to the use of the verb σκοπέω/skopeo which both means to see/to observes and to judge/to think. Hence the play shows us an Oedipus that has the answer to the question he has at the begining reguarding Laios's murderer and the fact that his wife Jocaste is actually his biological mother, but he doesn't see it, he is figuratively blind which causes him to not see in the sense of him making terrible decision and when he finally begin to see the truth, he is crushed by reality which causes him to blind himself literaly, saying that he is now as blind as he used to be at the beginging of the play. I could go on with this due to how interesting this auto mutilation act is, however I am supposed to focus on VNC.
Following this logic, I think that Noé's "bad eyesight" is mainly symbolic to how he is blind to some things of the world. At the begining of the story, he is mainly a child at heart, an innocent and well intentioned young man. He is pretty much a white page, he doesn't know the reality of so many thing and concept such as love or salvation. His vision is cracked to shows how much of an unreliable narrator he can be. We already had many instance of Noé's vision on an event being portrayed differently. See when he met Vani for the first time :
Tumblr media Tumblr media
VS in chapter 52
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We may wonder why it changed right ? well, it's because Noé vision/perception of things is shaped by what he knows of it.
An example of this in the Ball masqué arc
Tumblr media
That's how Noé sees Vanitas. He is portrayed as radiant here, and the reason isn't just because he saved him from Naenia, but because Noé saw Vanitas saving several vampires using the Reverse operation, which gives him hope.
Tumblr media
Vanitas is seen as a saving figure because it restored Noé's hope. After all, he experienced the loss of his childhood friend due to Curse bearer degeneration and this happen right after Naenia made him remember that.
However, when Vanitas fails to save Catherine and kills her instead, the portrayal/way Noé's view him changes
Tumblr media
Vanitas's dialogue is in a dark bubble leading to understand the dialogue has a dark connotation which worries Noé creating a transition
Tumblr media
The panel where darkness seems to be growing and thus contrast with the light panel where Vani's hair shines brighter with the use of trame; replaced now by ink to signify darnkess as taken over, and here it's in Noé's vision.
When we are at the point where he will kill Catherine, Noé becomes more hesistant, the look on the panel showing his anxiety and then
Tumblr media
He remembered the face Vani made when he claimed to save all the Vampires but with the dialogue he said a bit earlier, and while many commented on how threatning this face is, the fact that Noé remember this face right as Vanitas is about to kill Catherine says a lot on how he ended up viewing him very differently from the moment Vanitas saved him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With this example, you can see that Noé's perception is limited to what he knows of the thing he see, modeling how he sees things.
By the time of chapter 52, Vanitas could have once again appears in his soft side, having saved Chloé and having Noé learn about his own insecurities. But in this chapter, Vanitas threaten to kill his childhood, friend, hence he doesn't view him anymore as the same and is unable to focus on him. An blatant example is how he failed to notice that Vanitas made this face when he tried to attack him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He will admits it himself, but it isn't before Jeanne, an objective watcher call hims out
Tumblr media
That he snaps out. And even then he doesn't understand
Tumblr media
Until he sees himself in the mirror
Tumblr media
The fact that Noé's vision of Vanitas is shaped by what Vanitas let him see of him, coupled by his blind self makes him an unreliable narrator, especially when it comes to what VNC is about : knowing who Vanitas is.
Tumblr media
Hence, I think Noé's eyesight is actually refering to this element, that he is figuratively blind. At least for now.
But it should also be noted that Noé and Vanitas don't view the same thing in the same way as they have different knowledge of it and I think nothing illustrates it better then their duet song, Le Formidable where the chorus goes as such :
I walk into this
useless (Vanitas)
wonderous (Noé)
world
The chorus and some of the verse are constantly showing the dichotomy of how these two sees the world, contrasting between Noé optimism view and Vanitas's pessimistiv view, and the two untertwining creates a sense of discontinuity within the lyrics as the song keeps switching between their 2 POV which is complete polar opposite and this is more notable when the song comes to the chorus where both voices finally sings together and seems to have finally meet, but to show that while they live in the same world and lives the same adventures, they don't view things in the same way.
Now talking about Tirésias. He was a mythic poet that was cursed with blindness but the gods granted him in compensation the gift to see the future and he became a famous fortune teller. This is actually linked to an old, old belief about blindness. That although they can't see, the are gifted with a knowledge unabling them to see what is invisible to the common man. And while blind people often have sharpended sense, this is also linked to the old belief that the poet as prophetic talents.
So how does it link with Noé ?
Noé is actually an entity that is double : with have past Noé, the character and present Noé, the narrator/writer of the story. Past Noé is blind, but present Noé, while a potentially unreliable narrator is the one that knows how the story ends. After all, the end of chapter 1 sounds like a premonition.
Tumblr media
And that's because it already happen. Like for Oedipus that couldn't escape his fate, the story Noé is telling is bound to end like that because it's what the narrator already experienced. There is that critic Jean Paul Sartre made about true stories not existing arguing that the moment you tell a story when you know the ending of it, it cease be authentic because we don't know how things are supposed to end. And indeed, no one but God can know what will happen in the future. It is what is name the occult, ot "what is hidden"... what people used to believe blind people could see as compensation for their defective eyesight.
That add up to the fact Noé was shown to be literaly defective within his eyesight due to his injury. But canonically Noé has the power to know something that others vampire in particular can't. As an Archiviste, he can knows the past of someone by drinking their blood and looking into their memories, which got him to have a lot of people looking down on him for that has it's allowing him to look on what is intimate, etymologitically, what is deep inside of them, that which they occult. And in the case of Vanitas in particular, it's something that 1/ Vanitas don't want him to know 2/Noé admits in chapter 52 to not know.
However, as I mentionned the narrator knows the ending of the story, which contrast with how Noé is ignorant of the events of VNC compared to his future self narrating the story. And in chapter 56, there is finally a hint of him learning his irremediable fate
Tumblr media
From the mouth of Vanitas, Noé learns what is future self already knew and told the audience.
This might be an indicator that Noé will manage to pass of his initial blindess as he tells the story and thus recover a proper eyesight, signifying be able to see things other then through a veil of ignorance/innocence/subjectivity.
And this can be seen as through VNC, there are clear instance of Vanitas moments focused when Noé was simply not here, and thus should not know about it, specially when Vanitas nevers tell him about it, such as his meeting with Jeanne at the ball, his discussion with her during the lunch Lucas invited them to partake, their meeting at the ball, their date in Paris or in the cabine.
There is also the fact that he relates his meeting with Ruthven in the meantime, when he should have forgotten about it. Or, the most obvious piece of evidence, the fact that he was able to convey how Vanitas felt when he attacked him even though the chapter made it clear Noé had no idea on how he looked like
Tumblr media
This for instance, shows that Noé/narrator was able to overcome his own biais and overcome the fact he would have remained an unreliable narrator had his vision not changed.
Long story short is that Noé/narrator knows and see what Noé/character doesn't know/see and shows us the ignorance he had at the time, while keeping in mind that Noé/character doesn't know while Noé/narrator is the one who knows everything. What is going to happen, how it is going to unfold.
Thus it is very important to remember that what Noé/character sees will constantly be challenged by what his future self saw and therefore knows.
And considering that VNC heavily deals with how Noé's vision of the world is constantly challenged throughout the story, I think it is possible that his character would evolve in such a way

This is for the two people (@mxs-space and @impishthing I love you both thank you for encouraging me sending confetti to your mailbox as we speak) that wanted my Beforan Ancestor lore I’m sticking it all under the cut. Long ass post guys watch out
Also this stuff is incomplete lmao just so we all know. ANYWAY
All decided names so far;
Karkat: The Nexus, Nexus Knight Vanitas
Aradia: The Elegist
Tavros: The Pagewright, The Emergent
Sollux: The Conductor
Nepeta: The Mighty Huntress
Kanaya: The Sunkissed Palliative
Terezi: TBD
Vriska: Conqueror Chelicerae Mindfang
Equius: The Neighcent
Gamzee: Jongleur
Eridan: The March Huntress, March
Feferi: Her Radiant Marina
Tumblr media
Rough timeline SO FAR
Aradia Megido - The Elegist
Elegist - the author of a mournful poem lamenting the dead
The Elegist is something of a bad omen, recorded to subtly appear only when a tragedy is coming. Manifesting quietly into your peripheral vision as whatever’s about to happen to you takes root in your history forever. While there are rumours, all modern appearances or accounts of her came to a halt, as if she disappeared as mysteriously as she initially came. There’s no record of anyone catching a conversation to her, nothing accessible to the public eye at least, but the stories say if you can’t see her, you’ll hear the whispers of her familiars ringing in your ears.
-
A very, very long time ago, long before Her Radiant Marina claimed the throne, there was a musician. She claimed the songs she wrote were shared to her by the voices of the dead. A recluse of sorts, but not by any means unfriendly. Despite her unusual disposition, she was regarded as kind and easy to get along with if you could overlook the weirder aspects of her. As a young adult, something transpired between herself and the current empress, and she disappeared. Angry and upset, our dear sweet musician took on a new calling. She swore to the empress that her face would be the last thing this planet ever sees. Billions of sweeps later, her tale and her warning is long forgotten.
Other notes:
-possibly made deals with spirits she shouldn’t have in order to live as long as she has.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tavros Nitram - The Pagewright, The Emergent
Emergent - in the process of coming into being or becoming prominent.
Pagewright - ‘Page’ being from his class, ‘wright’ coming from ‘playwright’, a reference to his nature as a storyteller, and to the Summoner’s story being turned into a work of fiction.
The Pagewright was an avid traveller. He was a friend of the people, travelling from town to town, city to city, taking up tasks for others as he went. These tasks would often decide the direction of his journey, basing his trip on a parcel he was asked to deliver, or a recipe that was suggested to him only found in a certain place. His direction changes as flippantly as the wind, always treading from place to place on a whim. He developed a popular reputation as a nomad of sorts, and a lover of animals. His old logs of his travels far and wild are occasionally used as reference points for zoological study on now extinct forms of lusii, due to his mission to befriend literally any creature he came across. Despite his long travels, the truth was that the Pagewright had a home and a matesprite, both of which he always returned to. The gaps in his ventures were filled with love and home made cheer.
Modernly, the Pagewright is known for his stories. The traveller had a known soft spot for fiction of a fantastical kind, and would share and trade stories with many of the people from the towns he visited. After circulating and being retold for years and years, many of these indulgent fictional stories became the crutch for modern day fairy tales. His most famous story, however, was one he claimed was rooted in truth. He told the story of the day he lost his legs, and almost his life. The Pagewright, with an expression lost in thought, claimed he looked into the piercing eyes of Death herself. Despite the bizarre nature of the story, it developed into the interpretation of the Grim Reaper that many people know today.
Other notes:
-his matesprit is The Neighcent, the same gentleman responsible for crafting his legs.
-underneath his clothing he also wears a thin brace of sorts. His posture is insanely out of whack from spine damage and carrying his stupid god damn horns around
Tumblr media
Karkat Vantas - Nexus Knight Vanitas, The Nexus
Nexus - a connection or series of connections linking two or more things.
Knight - Comes from his class.
Vanitas - Art term, the concept of human life and happiness as fleeting, short-lived.
The Nexus was a peacekeeper. When Her Radiant Marina was settling into her role as a ruler, he stood nobly by her side as both a personal guard and a dear friend. He stuck to her side, making sure she attended all her meetings and did all her Empress-ly duties, all that important royal junk. More importantly, The Nexus was a friend to the people. While his dialogue could often be less than professional, he was loved for his kindness and affection underneath. It wasn’t uncommon for him to resolve disputes between others, keep younger people occupied, or lend a hand wherever he was needed. The Nexus was incredibly popular with his people, and he loved them more than he ever could have imagined.
Sadly, all good things must come to an end. As Marina got older, she began to bring in the new culling laws. For the better, she said. To take care of them, she said. Like in many other cases, the people made into playtoys or coddled pets by these laws were angry, and began to push back. Then came the division, then the violence. While Marina scrambled to repair the damage from a distance, The Nexus tried to speak to her subjects face to face. Gathering small groups of her people together to speak to, condemning the senseless violence and encouraging them to come together. But the more he talked, the more he realised that they were right. In truth, would these laws not affect him too? In the end, is he not a traitor to himself to stand by her? Even now, while he tried to put her kingdom back together, she hid up in her palace, whilst he drew further and further from her. The Nexus was furious. Hand in hand with his people, he pushed back. He tried to negotiate with her, talk to her as one friend to another, but she wouldn’t budge. She insisted she knew best. The followers grew weary, the warmongerers grew impatient. It was one life for the freedom of hundreds more, they said. They used him as a symbol of their own. For the more peaceful, a symbol of mourning and revolt. For the others, a symbol of sacrifice and example. A gruesome display of rebellion. It was then that Marina stepped out into the light to make a move. She strapped the laws tight, herded the people in. And as history moved forward, her peace returned by force, she wiped the entire incident from the books, The Nexus and his sacrifice included.
Other notes:
-the symbol they ended up using to represent him was the symbol of infinity. ♾️
Tumblr media
Eridan Ampora - The March Huntress
March - March is considered one of the best months to fish in, March Eridan
Huntress - Referencing their post scratch work hunting for Feferi’s lusus.
The March Huntress was,,,, a character. In the beginning, she was running fishing expeditions and dabbling in science on the side. It’s not really known when, exactly, she became so infatuated with the concept of magic, only when she started letting it seep into everything she did. It didn’t take long for her to abandon her fishing exports and scientific studies in favour of uncovering this magic she was so, so very sure existed. Tragically she was regarded as a nutcase and, frankly, a bit of a tool for being arrogant and dramatic about her claims. From studying, to actively seeking out magical items for herself, her fascination only grew with each step she took towards some true discovery. Slowly, her friends grew lost on her. She withdrew, disappearing from the public eye, being seen less and less until she was lost altogether. Lost in her work, lost in her spiralling out of isolation. A very long time later, however, she kind of just… popped into the public eye again. So long, that most of her reputation was now going unknown, save for those with longer life spans who lived to see her step into the light of day again.
Modernly, still living even in present day, she goes solely as March. A business owner, with a less than professional attitude but probably making more than enough money to give a shit. Running several small establishments that she often checks in on and helps out with, she remains highly regarded with her staff and regular customers. Despite her olden grievances, her fascination with magic isn’t lost. Many of her supposed ‘magical items’ are still kept tucked in her sylladex, these items she treasures greatly. Unfortunately these items are definitely cursed, and March is also definitely cursed as a result. It’s unbelievable how cursed she probably is. Held close to her heart is an ‘amulet’, a beautiful stone planchette rimmed in gold, hung on a rope chain. Always in her mind she hears the whispers. Always in her mind she hears them talking. And yet, till the day the world ended, she could not bring herself to let it go.
Other notes:
-March’s entire story was completely bullshitted on the spot because Cronus gave me so little to work with. It started with a ‘she owns a hot girl car wash’ joke and expanded from there
-It’s not actually a hot girl car wash though. Just a normal car wash. Cronus brings cars there to get them cleaned while she rambles to him about how magic is real and she can prove it. Then they go out to a field and she blows up his car
Tumblr media
Feferi Peixes - Her Radiant Marina
Radiant - Reference to her jewellery and brighter colours, glistening
Marina - a specially designed harbour with moorings for pleasure yachts and small boats, ‘marine’

Haven’t written out a full thing for her that I’m happy with yet, but HRM is our empress.
Tumblr media
Sollux Captor - The Conductor
Conductor - the materials or substances which allow electricity to flow through them, a train crew member responsible for operational and safety duties, a person who collects fares and sells tickets on a bus.
My guy created public transport and we’re so proud of him
Other notes:
-he is almost entirely based on that One line of dialogue from pesterquest about being jazzed about public transport.
-he just fucking loves public transport
Alright that’s all gang thanks

Naenia lowkey need better methods. Idk if they can shapeshift but if they’d approach Noé looking like Louis, could’ve convinced him a long time ago shit. Talking about some “I’ve tried over and over” YOU AINT TRIED SMART ENOUGH
Let tell what to do Naenia ok. I know in Bal Masque you tried to convince him by saying he’d be with Louis. Literally that alone almost got him but Vanitas saved him. Approach him in a dream. Which I assume you’ve been cuz wtf you mean you’ve tried repeatedly to have his name. Come in the form of Louis. Better, adult Louis. So Noé thinks in that moment he’s alive. Have Louis call his name softly and pull Noé to roll around in the grass like they’re kids again.
Have Louis ask if Noé missed him. Have him ask if they can be together forever. Just like Noé promised they’d be all those years ago. Noe can’t break his promise right? Have Louis hold his face as if it were glass and plead with lovesick eyes to make a wish. Any wish in the world, all he has to do is give up his true name. And Noé’s a deep sleeper too YOU GOT IT IN THE BAG. You can’t take it by force okay….manipulation is an option bestie what are we doing I need curse-bearer Noé ASAP (yes this was an excuse to write louinoe bc why not)

Magical Disposition
And the little rambles and side notes we made along the way
All casters have specific magical dispositions, beginning with their leanings toward Light or Darkness. This leaning often has an effect on the elemental magic that they gravitate towards; Light casters showing considerable aptitude in Air, Water, or Ice spells, whilst Dark casters are more inclined to be proficient in Fire, Earth, or Lightning spells.
In this way, Light-leaning casters are unlikely to have a natural aptitude in Dark-leaning elements, though such aptitudes are not impossible. Apprentices are encouraged to learn the base level of all elemental spells, in order to identify where their natural aptitudes lie.
As an apprentice becomes more skilled with elements they share a natural aptitude for, the more likely they are to exhibit this aptitude in accidental ways. This accidental magic is most often tied to emotional distress; an example of such being an apprentice with an aptitude of fire, who, overwhelmed by the seemingly unending piles of books their master ordered them to read, set fire to the entire stack.
Magical disposition can also affect the appearance of magic being cast, though this rarely affects the potency of the intended spell. Drawing from the previous example, the apprentice mentioned often cast Fire tainted with the color of Darkness, the result being purple flames that were no less potent due to the visual discrepancy.
~~~
How's this look on the cast then? Ignoring canon, letting it be a free-for-all….
Ventus and Aqua are never going to master fire and earth skills, such as firaga. Their strength is obvious (like, in the names, man), though Aqua will probably have that Stop magic to a fucking T. Ventus again, obvious- wind is his forte and Salvation exists.
Terra and Axel would never master ice skills (tbf Axel will probably have nothing to do with Ice or Water ever), and probably never master healing spells either. Both their strengths are obvious.
Riku is balanced enough that he could master everything. Like, literally everything he’s probs the only motherfucker that popped out of the womb who can say “yeah I got everything but Wish”. Roxas and Xion got him beat tho they probably can learn everything and the couch too.
Vanitas will never learn healing spells. Ever. He's got his Darkness and his big ol' orbs of purple fire, he's good. That said, I like the idea that he is gonna learn a lot of very…protective spells. Eventually. And be insanely good at them. (because protective spells are wiiiiiiind and he can deny his origins if he likes but THEY’RE THERE, TOUGH SHIT)
Sora won’t learn gravity magic and won’t master time magic. I’m actually unsure if he’ll master anything beyond healing and protection spells because he’s just more of a “but what if I just stab it” kind of guy. KH's everyman, the equivalent of FFXIV's Meteor/White Bread Man. Considering Roxas and Xion, he could be more. He just doesn’t want to. Also his “Wish” is kind of off the charts so does he need anything else probs not??? He’s “competent” with most magics but hitting shit is what he excels at.
Kairi and Namine will probably never learn literally anything Dark leaning (outside of corridors for Nams) but considering their “Wish” magic is also off the fucking charts that’s probably for the best.
Donald lol. So he has a super leaning to fire (and lightning he spams this AoE like it's going out of fashion in KH2) and I’m keeping it because Vanitas will never let that go. Mickey is very much like… the taught student, so Light stuff, time stuff, press X to spam Holy. Goofy is legit just like, an AoE buff spammer, and nothing else. His aptitude for magic is super low.
~~~
Fire Magic is the most obvious difference between two people casting at the same level, because it’s very visual. Light wielders will generally create a fire that looks more “natural”, whereas Dark wielders actively have to work to prevent the Darkness from distorting the coloration and effect, since Darkness is ironically more predisposed to heat. Which means Axel summoning a literal room full of naturally coloured fire is a big fucking deal.
Another obvious difference I’m gonna whack in here is that people with elemental learnings are way more liable to affect their magic via emotions, particularly when they’re untrained. So when Ventus is stupid mad he accidentally summons tornados. Aqua freezes shit she’s touching Elsa-style, and the temperature around her drops. Terra makes the ground quake. Vanitas makes the area around him darker, on top of… you know. Spawning Unversed.

even if servamp were to get an anime reboot, id still feel like it cant really animate the true beauty and masterpiece of the manga
like yeah i mean some fight scenes would be animated, scenes would be voiceovered, but when you get to how tanaka strike just beautifully layouts the pages, the wording, and all the symbolism and meaning you can just get from that, i feel like it takes away that experience for anime-onlys and also the art in general
id still recommend reading the manga to anyone whos getting into servamp
servamp's main charm for me is the paneling
take this scene from chapter 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
mahiru's deteriorating mental health as he struggles to pretend everything is okay after losing his mother is depicted with the panels getting wonkier and wonkier, as if unable to handle its own weight
Tumblr media
notice how in this sequence, the first panel depicting tooru is standing straight, but after he sees mahiru crying on the floor, tooru's panel is swaying too
but then
Tumblr media
they hug. and the panels are all standing straight again. they become each other's pillar of support.
and i think like... when animated without any special gimmick to it, it won't hit as hard as the manga pages
and there are many, many scenes where tanaka strike plays with the fact that servamp is a book
look at this page from chapter 62
Tumblr media
now look at the next page
Tumblr media
noticed something?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and considering how a lot of adaptations tend to focus on action scenes to sell the anime at the expense of important monologues like this
frankly speaking the only successful anime adaptation i've seen is mp100, and even then, studio bones fucked up literally every other adaptations they handled, like bsd and vanitas to name a few

I love the enthusiasm for the mobile games I love that people enjoy them and that there's this constant influx of new lore and excitement that crosses my dash practically every day but, and I say this with all the love in my heart--
KH1 came out in September of 2002 and I had my grubby little hands on it that December. It was the reason I begged my parents for a ps2 and not a gamecube. I sat there watching the fandom freak out for six months when Roxas' reveal was literally the back of his head and the bottom of his face and we called him BHK and debated exactly how he was tied to Sora (the running theory was that he was Sora and everyone was right, but also the shipping back then? Wild. I think he had about twenty names from fanfic authors and I promise none of them were Roxas).
I remember finding CoM, the gameboy advance game, entirely by accident because the advertising for it didn't exist in my country. I remember spending months watching Day 1 to 5 on youtube with ten minute long videos that took an hour to fully load on dial up so I'd watch like a minute at a time before rewinding back to the start and praying it didn't decide to reload the entire thing. I skipped a day of my last year of highschool to go to every gaming store in Sydney to find a copy of BBS collectors edition up for grabs.
I bought several consoles. I have the BBS novels on my shelf, I don't know Japanese. There's a Roxas figurine in my closet that's worth $800 these days and I will probably never sell it. One of my most precious items is two little pieces of cardboard that have the words Vanitas and Ventus painted on them in english and japanese from a convention I went to in 2011.
Kingdom Hearts has legitimately been part of my life for as long as I can remember. It took up half my life and now it's taken up a third of my life and I lived and breathed the fandom from 2002 to 2012 and I'll be honest, I can't keep up.
So I'mma keep it simple and clean for myself and continue to be giddy about pre-mobile canon because man, there is so much there. There's so many experiences and great things there that I miss the fandom interacting and playing with and when you're a fanfic writer, sometimes you gotta do that yourself.

Hi, please excuse how this is formatted, this is my first time trying to do one of these partner finders on Tumblr.
A couple of things about me; ❦
My name is Joey, I am currently 26, unfortunately life is quite a big thing and therefore I am quite busy most days. Because of this I am not a fast responder, my responses to role-plays tend to be extremely slow. I consider myself literate responses tend to vary from 600-1000 words per character, since I respond slowly I try my best to make the response as engaging as possible and can sometimes go up to about 2500+ words per character.
I don’t have any triggers and because of this I am actually looking for nsfw role-plays, for more specific topics please ask when we’re chatting and planning. Just because I don’t have any triggers please please let me know what yours are, I don’t want my partners to be uncomfortable when writing with me, although I am looking for more intense topics I would like for my partners to be comfortable and enjoy the role-play as much as I do.
What I am looking for is specifically OC x CC doubles, that means I play a canon character for you and you play your OC and you play a canon character for me and I play my OC. If you’re looking for someone to just play a canon character for you and not give the same back then I am not your person. It only seems fair that I scratch your back and you do the same for me.
The method I prefer to role-play is over Discord, e-mail, or google docs form which I will share once reaching out. I am on a couple of forum sites so if that is something that you’d prefer then we can also role-play on there. I am being a little bit selective with partners just because I have so much free time that I want to enjoy this hobby rather than being pressured into writing out replies and them being half-assed.
I have a few fandoms I am currently interested in, I’ll list them in alphabetical order and underneath them I’ll list the characters I am looking for

Can i request vampire reader sucking sub vanitas blood while jerking him off 😛
Tumblr media
Vanitas + vampire kink reader
Vanitas hissed through his teeth as [Y/N]’s thumb ran over the top of his penis. Their feather light touches teasing it to erection, in an almost torturous way that made his mind go numb.
“Ney, ney, don’t tense up on me.” They cooed. Making him do just that as their index and thumb squeezed the tip. “It’s no fun for me if you’re tense.”
“Then knock it off!” Vanitas clipped at them. His voice about as strained as his dick. His eyes twisted shut behind his arm draped over them; he never liked to watch when they fooled around like this. “Just do it and get it over with, and let me cum!”
“So bossy…” They were clearly enjoying this.
[Y/N] leaned up closer beside him. Their breath by his ear now. “I’ve told you, you’re blood is better when you get riled up. Spicy, yet sweet. Plus, I know you like it when you cum while I feed on you.”
His teeth set in a firm line. He hated when they brought that up. He knew deep down it was true, but he didn’t need to be reminded of it. This perverse kink of his that filled him up with shame. “Just do it.”
A deep chuckle bubbled out of [Y/N]’s chest, and they placed a soft kiss by his ear. Their hand then gripped him firmly to jerk him off. Vanitas gasped in relief, but obviously not enough to cum. Just something close to strong enough to get him there was a relief at this point. Their movements were firm and practiced. Despite his kink shame, they had done this many times before.
“Does that feel good baby?” He nodded. His eyes still covered by his arm. “Good.”
Their head ducked down again and he felt the sudden jolt of their teeth on his sink. Vanitas cried out. His hips naturally bucking into their hand at the feeling of pain. The dance between it and pleasure flooding his mind.
“[Y-Y]…[Y/N]…..” He gasped out their name as he felt his blood pool out of his neck and into their mouth. Feeling his life slip away as everything faded to him & them.
The hand on his cock never stopped and suddenly he was cumming in buckets. His life energy literally pouring out from both ends now. Darkness coming to the fridge of his vision in his minds eye over the blackness of just having his eyes closed. He didn’t pass out though, and instead laid their spent and panting until [Y/N] finally let him go.
“See, what did I tell you. Spicy, yet sweet.”
Vanitas grimaced a little as they licked their lips. Finding it distasteful, even if he comes to them from time to time. “Please don’t talk about my blood like that.”
“Would you prefer I comment on your cum?”
Vanitas stomach quivered when the leaned down to lick it off his hip. “Quit it!”
[Y/N] chuckled again and got off the bed. “Relax. It’s a compliment.”
“I just don’t like to be referred to as a meal.”
“Why not? You’re certainly a snack.” He seemed to have enough blood left to fill his cheeks when they winked at him. “Are you going stay here?”
“I think if I stand up right now I’ll faint.”
“You don’t have to put on pretenses.” They quipped. Then curled back into bed beside him after they had rinsed out their mouth, and gotten him a cool rag to clean off.
He supposed they were right.
Vanitas always tried to fight it. To act like he wasn’t enjoying this as much as they were. That he didn’t enjoy them as much as they did him. If he believed in psychoanalysis, he would deduce that it probably had something to do with his childhood. But he doesn’t like to think on that.
In any case, he was too tired to think of anything at all and drifted off to sleep beside his vampire sometimes-lover for the night. This was good as it was, and was all it ever needed to be. Two people, just getting a fix from each other

Can I ask your top 5 (or top 3) favorite characters from Vanitas no Carte? And why you loved them? And your top 5 favorite moments from the series? Thanks if you want to answer....
I literally adore all the characters it's so hard to choose just 5 or 3 because to me they are all so well written and have so much depth to them. They all interwine so wonderfully that I can come up with a million reasons on why I like or am interested in each character!
My obvious choice of favorite [obvious meaning apart of the main character group] is Noe, for multipul reasons and mainly because I relate to him far too much for my own good on some of the things he says or does.
But out of the not obvious choices and main characters I would have to go with, Johann, simply because he is definetly keeping secrets of his own and gives off antagonists vibes and I'm excited to see where his character goes, and why he has such a strong dislike for Noe in the recent chapters. We could assume its just because he was oblivious and nieve and that's why Johann doesn't like him but it's definetly not just that. Johann almost seems to hold a- personal, vendetta agaisnt Noe. Or at least people like Noe. From how he gave him such a suspiciously timed look in Orlocks office. To how he almost always refers to him as- the other one. And never his name when not around him. I'm fascinated by his character.
My favorite moments however are alott easier to pick out: in no particular order.
1. The bell tower scene, I think everyone agrees that it's an amazing scene, and honestly everytime I re-read the manga I find myself so hyper focused on it that I just stare at Noes mysterious little smile for awhile, I really think that's when Vanitas finally started seeing Noe as someone he could open up to one day. That Noe gave him this hope of someone actually believing in him. And also the odd little moment at the end where Noe appoligies genuinely makes me think that never happend. That it's just something Noe wished he said back then and is just adding it in now, now that Vanitas is dead.
2. Little Louis when Noe was Introduced, when he pulled Noe In and said he felt bad for hom because his grandfather took an Interest in him. This is small moment but one that always gives me that- "OOOOH SHITTT" vibewhen I read it. I think that's wuen the manga was really leaning Into- the teacher is sus. And it also shows us that even before Louis found out he was a curse bearer that he knew his grandfather was never up to any good. It makes me wonder if their were other kids, before Noe. That didn't quite meet the teachers expectations and what was done with them.
3. The entire fight scene between Vanitas and Noe with Domi on the ferris wheel. Everything about that entire chapter is everything to me. And Vanitas' "why can't I kill you-" will always get to me. Because ot shows how much Vanitas has changed. How much he has developed enough to of actually let someone in.
4. The moment where Jeanne gets all flustered because vanitas said "I'm telling you. You're lovely" because I'm a multishipper and that oannel was just too adorable , Jeanne looked way to cute.
5. Noe lifted his hand up to talk in count orlocks office. Its small, but compares to hoe he acted the first time he was in orlocls office. It shows he has grown. That he has a better grip on his emotions and even learned to communicate better. First time he was in orlocls office he wouldn't hear anyone out and was determined to prove that the book heals people, while now. He raised his hand. And asked why no one calls Dante and his group by their names. Even though he truely detests people beigrefurred to anything but their name. Which names me wonder. Is their something else in Noes past that he has forgotten. Some point in his life where he wasn't referred to as Noe. Or even by a name at all. First he gets mad for Vanitas abiut vanitas being referred to as a number. Then mad at vanitas for only ever calling him that vampire, and then confused on why Dante and squad are only referred to as Dhams. Which would be curious concidering his teacher mainly uses a nickname for him and not his actual name most of the time.
And finally of course. The iconic "I'm glad you are the person you are now vanitas" scene on the roof.
Honestly their is definetly more. But it's late and my brains slowing down so for noe just the ones that i can remember, I could probually make a top 5 moments list for every character at this point if I'm Honest

Have they ever actually explained what the whole anti-sora form thing is all about? I always assumed it was a weird side effect from him being a heartless for a bit
Is anti-form originated from when Sora got turned into a Heartless? Nomura: Story-wise, yes. Drives are very strong so anti-form exists as a side-effect of using too much power. System-wise, I wanted to create something strong but troublesome.
...is what Nomura said in a 2006 interview.
iirc the fandom speculation is that since Anti-form happens if you use other drives too much. It might be that Sora "uses up" too much light at once and thus the darkness in him takes over for a moment, something along those lines. It's almost like Sora is more easily susceptible to the darkness after being turned into a heartless, and even Kairi's POH power couldn't remedy that.
With the appearance of Anti-Aqua in KH3 it also has the implication that Sora loses hope/succumbs to the darkness during a tough fight. And while we are on the KH3 topic:
There's a form that appears called "Rage Form," which reminds us of the "Anti Form" from KH2. What is the setup behind that? Nomura: The forms in this title are very different from that of KH2, so we decided to change all the names. Rage does indeed have characteristics that are reminiscent of Anti, but it's basically a separate thing setup wise. Anti is based on Sora getting completely stained in darkness, but Rage doesn't go quite that far. It's based on him going into a rampage state, controlled by feelings of anger.
from a 2019 interview.
Interesting that even though Sora has a shorter fuse and is angrier in KH2 (idr if it has been confirmed or if it's fanon speculation that it's due to Roxas in his heart influencing him and his heart remembering the pain and anger of CoM), it is only in KH3 where he is shouldering so much he snaps into a literal rage, specifically if he is damaged enough. He doesn't lose hope (yet), he gets pissed.
Considering the implications that there could be a part of Vanitas still in Sora it is currently hard to say if that rage stems purely from him or if Vanitas is feeding into it in some way.
It is actually one of the things I am hoping for the most in KH4. The build up has been going on for a long time, both through these forms and through his companions saying hurtful things to Sora repeatedly (it's often in a playful manner but that doesn't mean...it isn't mean. And KH3 really hammers this home.) and Sora's "Without my friends, I am nothing." may have scratched the surface but there's so much more to it.
Sora has a lot of pent up hurt inside him, Aqua being a direct parallel ingame. Aqua eventually succumbed to it because she was alone for so long. And now... Sora is alone, possibly missing memories or heart connections he needs to hold himself together. Yeah Strelitzia is there but that might not be enough. But let's stop here I could go on for hours.
