when the stunningly talented and generous @lilyoffandoms offered to gift me some art to celebrate my beating cancer, (first, I just sat there like 🥺 because how are you so sweet??), but second, I jumped at the chance to see Gabriel in a flower crown!

Marigold: joy, warmth, energy, prosperity Cosmos: harmony, peace, determination, resilience

Gabriel's story is one of pain and healing, so seeing him at peace means so freaking much to me. His contentment is my contentment, his joy is my joy.

Coincidentally, we also share a birth month! Marigolds and Cosmos are the October birth flowers, and they have a multitude of meanings that just felt so fitting for this kind of celebration 🌸

Thank you for your generosity, love. This art is truly a gift of the greatest kind, and I'll cherish it. You never fail to make me smile 🌻

Lol he looks like at least ten years younger in the bottom one. Are we just gonna say that the glasses age him like crazy? I guess maybe it just be like that sometimes. Here are some other pictures of him from the past.

I guess he just went gray early so in between dyes he starts to drastically look older. At the beginning of the series he looks blonde too. But then starts to look more gray as time goes on, prob got sick of dyeing it, especially since he's in his house all the time and gotta be akuma ready 🤣.

made a 16-slide presentation for gabriel jha, i spent three days back to back on this (and planning out the fic that takes place before, during, and after tdpi that's centric around his and dave's brotherly bond, alenoah, noah and dave's friendship, and alejandro and carlos's brotherly bond)

no going back now. while i finalize the slides (idek if i should post it here, it's a full-on oc form for a character only i care abt 😭 but it would be good background info), have some before/after racing accident that had dave auditioning for total drama picrews of gabriel! (so in other words, pre and post tdpi gabriel)

Gabriel… may have made a horrible mistake.

Resisting the urge to look behind them, they weaved through the trees as inhuman and staticy roars rang from not far enough away to be comfortable.

The lieutenant hadn’t even known that the alternate was in the building they were investigating, only noticing it by the growl that came from it when it saw them. 

Of course, despite their hunt for knowledge on these wretched things, Gabriel knew when they should get the fuck out of a situation. And, as a claw almost snagged onto their hair, this was definitely one of those times.

Looking around frantically, they spotted a ledge they could climb, and they swerved to the right, wincing as the feedback of a radio screeched from behind them. Come on, come on.

Barely stumbling, Gabriel managed to get purchase and climb over the concrete wall, panting with exertion. 

Looking down at the imitation of a once good man, the lieutenant's expression twisted into anger as they watched it claw desperately at the ledge, trying to get a grip and failing miserably with its mangled fingernails.

Its teeth clicked as it screamed random static conversations, and Gabriel froze slightly when they heard their own voice in the cacophony coming from Thatcher Davis’ visage. “̸S̵h̴o̶w̸ ̸y̵o̵u̴r̸s̸e̵l̸f̷.”

Backing away slightly, Gabriel stood for a few seconds in fascination before leaving in the closest direction to the station with an aggravated sigh. They had to report this…

Bringing a hand to their ponytail they grimaced when they remembered that the thing had touched it. Scratch the report for now, they needed a shower.

I was thinking about it, and I find it particularly interesting that in both of Nathalie's "magical" ( for lack of a better term ) forms that she takes where we can actually see it, her hair is short. Even Catalyst, while not showing any hair, does give a similar silhoutte to her short hair 'variants.'

We know through just general evidence that the Miraculous ( and, by extension, akumatizations ) adapt their appearances to their holders. That's why the ladybug suit looks different on Ladybug, Mister Bug, and Scarabella. It changes to best suit the person holding it.

With that in mind, I've come to an interesting conclusion about Nathalie: she wants short hair.

So why keep her hair long enough to put up in a bun every day? She's a no-nonsense kind of a woman, it stands to reason that if she desperately wants to change something -- so much so that her subconcious will remove her long hair should it have an opportunity -- that she would just... cut her hair off, right?

Well.

There's one reason I can think that she might keep her hair long.

I think, in a way, she's emulating her friend. Holding on to a piece of her that is completely within her control. Every other aspect of Emilie is so controlled by Gabriel: her image, her things, her fucking body. Even the few videos that she has of Emilie were meant to be destroyed. This is something to hold onto her.

Something that cannot be taken away from her.
