#and i encourage you to do the same#find your truth#don’t buy into anything#and don’t trust people on the internet#not even me#social media#tiktok#ig reels#also ‘desecrating’ as if they’d ever been sacred#but you catch my drift

Something I’m so excited for with Sunrise on The Reaping is that we will finally be freed from the shackles of mainstream Hayffie domination. Probably.
(This is lighthearted please take it as such)
#like with the way people latched onto Corio and Lucy Gray…you can’t tell me the fandom hive won’t shift into Haymitch/‘his girl’#or Haymitch/Maysilee#Or the new mlm ships we will get (Im sorry I am like 98% sure that there will be a section of the fandom that latches onto Haymitch/Oddsman#silly goofy post#I don’t dislike Hayffie!! I mean…not that much#i have thoughts#and the problem is that my thoughts are in flux often#I truly think we will see a new Haymitch ship take the world by storm.#Like Hayffie might still be equally revered but I can already TELL the kinds of TikTok/Instagram posts we’re going to get#I don’t even want to textually put it into words rn but I have a sixth sense for this kinda thing trust#<- watch me be dead wrong LMFAO#the hunger games#sunrise on the reaping#I do really want to go into this from a meta speculative sense#because this is so interesting to me (social behaviors within internet niches)#anyway#posting this under the radar#hopefully

the thing is that unlike providing bombs to the state of Israel, protecting Jews who are us citizens from being attacked by other U.S. citizens is in fact definitely Joe Biden’s job (and something the us gov had a rather checkered history of, considering the continuing prevalence of antisemitic hate crimes) and so while I have no trust in his gov to do a good job with online monitoring or to “fight antisemitism” in a way that doesn’t disproportionately shut down Muslim and Arab voices, I also think there’s a lottttt of people who need to think real hard about posting in favor of blanket violence against an entire ethnic group on social media, something many people take a shockingly dim view of. this wasn’t necessarily a domestic issue but people have worked hard to make it a domestic issues when they started calling for violence against Jews in the diaspora and turned that violence into a reality! Now it unambiguously IS the us, French, British, German, Canadian gov’s job to deal with on a domestic level and you’ve given pro-surveillance islamaphobes the ultimate fascism card by clearly and unambiguously supporting ethnic violence and terror oh my gd
#*well no one’s supporting h AMAs* trust me when I say plenty of people#Pretty unambiguously decided to support h AMAs on the internet#I don’t think anyone realized how fucking fucking DUMB that is#Just politically suicidal oh my gd

Neuralink methods are unsafe at this stage given the animal deaths and shouldn’t be greenlit for human clinical trials. Calling it eugenics because of that is a bit much though.
There are other research projects doing similar, but safer, methods to help paralyzed people though. I hope people try to get on these research lists and don’t turn to musk out of desperation
It isn’t really a reach to call a procedure with over 60% mortality rate being marketed as a miracle cure to the disabled an example of eugenics. Frankly, there is a stronger word I’m tempted to use for it.
I don’t believe Elon Musk is unaware of the dangers. I don’t think any of the high profile scientists he hired are either.
At absolute best faith I can see Musk simply not caring about the risk and just using this as a desperate attempt at making back some money since he lost so much with twitter and SpaceX.
That’s giving him the most benefit of the doubt imaginable.
However, I would not call it overly cynical to suspect that this may be intentional. Is Musk really stupid enough to just think it’ll be fine because he’s the main character? Yeah, that’s plausible. It’s not any less plausible to say there’s an ulterior motive. Not when he rubs elbows with far-right figures often. Not when he’s a billionaire rich on his parents’ bloodied slave money.
I don’t trust a white man who grew up reaping the benefits of apartheid to be a friend to the disabled. I think the goal in this project has less to do with improving quality of life for the disabled and more for making the disabled less inconvenient to their abled caretakers. It’s very much giving 21st century lobotomy.
#Neuralink#eugenics#there is a long history of far-right monsters luring specific demographics to their horrible deaths by promising improved QoL#just saying#I don’t trust that at all#a brain implant attached to the temporal lobe is frightfully dangerous#and I don’t only mean because of the incompetence of the butcher shop surgeons either#if you can control the chip and it’s connected to the internet#then other people can use that chip to control you#again assuming it ever worked

israelis get more upset over people pointing out that being a non-Palestinian citizen of israel means being a settler and often an active participant in apartheid, than they do over the fact that there’s an apartheid and genocide happening.
like sorry not sorry, but whenever I see an Israeli whining about how “we’re not our government” or “Israelis are ppl too” it’s like cool. so anyways they discovered another mass grave of Palestinians today.
#🌌when the stars align ; reigns rambles🌌#if ur an israeli over the age of 18 and you’re not orthodox or an abstentor then you’ve served in the IOF#and claiming active pride in an identity entirely constructed around apartheid does not exactly inspire trust#like im not talking about simply being born there. but when you grow up in an active apartheid state#as part of the group favored by said apartheid#and you don’t actively fight against it and reject it materially#then sorry not sorry people have a right to be angry with you#like do you not understand that in every ‘israeli’ university there is active apartheid being carried out#and that you taking advantage of that apartheid whil not standing with Palestinians at the same university#then you are part of the problem#if there was brutal occupation and constant murder happening 20 miles away from me I would do something about it#but instead you’re complaining about being disliked on the internet and think that’s peak oppression???

#one thing about Taylor Swift is that she fucking hates when the internet asks her to use her platform about something#when the tumblr users all begged Taylor to speak about blm??? guess who never used tumblr again#so yeah Taylor not posting her Madrid thanks on Twitter doesn’t surprise me at all because she clearly hates being told what to do with her#huge platform and I get it in terms of people begging for things they don’t deserve like rep tv but when it comes to stuff like this that#actually fucking matters and makes a big impact… idk maybe she should just bite the bullet because she’s losing trust with fans who she#used to have such a unique relationship with and now it feels like she doesn’t value what we have to say at all#anyway xx I hope this is coherent I struggle with posts like this but this is just how I’m feeling#very disappointed but not surprised… and just remember she did post about blm eventually… very curious to see if she gives in and posts#this time around

I kind of hate the discussion on privacy/data selling because there will always be people who are like “I can’t believe all of you plebs let the apps know your data I use Linux so I’m safe 😌” and it’s like well no. I think people care but you can’t really do anything about it. Even you using your duckduckgo and having all your accounts separate from one another is not fooling the government . Like obviously that’s bad but no amount of protecting yourself as an individual will change how pervasive this stuff is in the US
#like I think people want internet privacy but don’t believe there’s any actual way to have that#I still don’t trust facial recognition and finger print stuff for phones but tbh thays a personal thing#I understand no matter how many steps I take the government and advertisers know my every step just by using the internet#even just using Google it will use your location to find results more catered to you. so.#gwon#idk I just hate this mind set . let’s focus on the big stuff as a collective

every single “yes except for” reply is absolutely terrifying and i’m worried for so many people’s safety
#*#parasocial relationships are all fun and games when you’re joking around#but please don’t trust random men with your drinks just because they seem funny and kind on the internet#some of the worst people you’ll ever meet adopt this exact persona exactly so they’ll be trusted and can take advantage of that trust

QUICK PSA!
If you get a message from someone claiming to be in Gaza telling you a sob story and asking for a donation they are 100% actually a Scammer. Report them immediately. If you really want to help the victims of this genocide do some research and find reputable organizations to donate to, and of course listen to reputable sources about other ways you can help.

??? Someone was selling a skull they didn’t know what it was. I politely told them what it was.
Apparently 9 other people told them the same thing but they don’t trust people on the internet.
So they don’t know what it is.
???????? Ok??
???
#if a person on the internet says so then it must not be right#how should we trust you selling to internet people if you don’t trust internet people#you are the people on the internet you know#what#mp

my toxic trait is every time i post a news article screenshot i don’t link the source despite knowing my news article screenshot posts can and sometimes even will blow up because i am trying to subtly nudge people who use this website to use their search engines when they see an unsourced post and perhaps even get in the habit of doing so. this doesn’t work and i know it doesn’t work but i keep doing it anyway
#and also because i use apple news and i don’t feel like jumping through hoops to link the web version of the article when google is free#but anyway what ACTUALLY happens is people are like ‘don’t trust anything without a source! anything without a source is fake!#which is literally just as bad as blindly believing anything you see on the internet.#and then if there is a source you don’t even click on it. you’re just like ‘oh ok this has a source so it’s real’#even if the source is. for example. a fake post on a different website#i just think more people need to actually read/watch/keep up with the news. like for realsies not via social media posts#like it’s just really REALLY obvious who does and who doesn’t. and i think if you don’t then you probably shouldn’t be proud of that#and you should probably keep it to yourself instead of bragging about how uninformed you are on tumblr.com

Singlets stop talking about systems as if you’re an expert because you follow some on tumblr challenge (also warning the tags here are a huge rant so feel free to ignore that)
#first off I think most syscourse is stupid#at the end of the day you’re just arguing with strangers on the internet who probably aren’t going to change their opinion on anything#you’re not going to do anything but make yourself upset and waste you’re time#if someone’s spreading misinfo and they refuse to listen when corrected (assuming you’re actually trying to be helpful instead of just#yelling at them for being wrong because if someone did that to me I wouldn’t listen either) just block and move on#anyway to get the point of this post#I’m in a discord server with this one person and I can’t even remember why or how the topic of syscourse came up (it’s a fandom server)#and this person (a singlet) starts going on a rant about how having x belief about systems is inherently ableist and you shouldn’t trust#anyone who believes that#and it’s like you don’t even have the disorder you don’t have the lives experience to be able to talk on these things#like I guess have an opinion sure but don’t go around telling people (mostly other singlets) what is and isn’t right about a disorder that#your only info on is from people on tumblr#and I didn’t say anything about it because this server is really good for finding places to watch/listen to hard to find or expensive media#and I just didn’t want to fucking deal with it but like if you’re a singlet don’t go around telling people what they should believe about#systems or how cdds work especially when you’re not an expert and you haven’t done actual research into the subject#(also I’m purposely not saying the specifics of what was being said because I don’t want to deal with anyone seeing this and wanting to#argue about those specifics because as I’ve said before arguing about system stuff on the internet is largely pointless)#system#syscourse

This is not a new or unique thought, but the existence of carrds throws me for a loop every single day. I’m a person who grew up in the early internet days where we were constantly (RIGHTLY!) told not to share our personal info with strangers, and now I can spend 2 seconds on a stranger’s profile and find out their name and age and pronouns and location and disabilities and kinks and triggers and who knows what else Y’ALL. STOP THAT. That shouldn’t be normal!!
Like I’m now comfortable saying I’m in my 30s pretty openly but that’s just about all the personal information I’ll share on my profile. No stranger on here who just happens to head to my blog is entitled to any other information about me! And that should be the norm!
#ESPECIALLY when minors do this like wtf#do NOT put ‘i’m a minor’ ANYWHERE on your public profile!!#PLEASE#FROM AN INTERNET OLD PLEASE TRUST ME ON THIS#‘I just don’t want older people to interact with a minor without knowing it’ THAT’S NOT YOUR ISSUE TO DEAL WITH BUD#PLEASE STAY SAFE INSTEAD#anyway sorry for the rant#carrd stuff#carrds#internet safety

see my problem is that if I pray for long enough I actually start to believe I’m somehow going to have the random chance to talk to a celebrity I’m thinking might enjoy the conversation about faith and religion. and I’m like to myself ‘prob not but never say never’ but like. my brain fully believes it and starts preparing for it and I’m just like. sitting here like idk what to do or how to stop this process happening in my head and like. focus on something else
#I don’t know what to call this someone help#I feel like there’s a bit of possible psychosis but I don’t wanna use that too freely? like I know stats in my logical brain that’s still#there. low likelihood or whatever but also if I make myself a platform it increases said likelihood and if it’s important to me I’ll do it#but mostly just adhd and executive function and thinking I can read people through the internet (but learning to trust my intuition too)#personal mental health tag

i never realized you were getting those rude comments I'm so sorry, ao3 has a newer feature that makes you able to block certain accounts from commenting, so if you're getting multiple comments from the same person you can block them
awwww I promise I’m just being sensitive & over dramatic because they really aren’t that bad! Im sure people get much worse & I truly get so many positive compliments I shouldn’t dwell on the handful I have gotten that I deem to be rude.
I did learn about that new feature on ao3!! It’s pretty cool they let you do that!
Thanks anon <3
#I don’t get that many#if I got 1000 comments I’d say 10 have been ‘rude’#it’s more like… one person tries to be helpful#like give me some advice#even though I didn’t ask for it lol#which is fine!#then another person will add their advice#& then sometimes another person will add theirs#which it’s just#who wants to read that?? ya know??#it’s me just sensitive#but I also think we live in a world where everyone on the internet has an opinion#& everyone wants to be heard#so they’re screaming in spaces not designed for that#from what I understand#ao3 authors don’t want feedback unless they specifically ask for it#& I do ask for feedback!! from people I trust and people I send my doc to before posting#I don’t ask stranger anon commenter on ao3 they didn’t like this or that or this was weird#anyway it’s really not a big deal#it just happened the last like two chapters in a row & idk I am moody sometimes and I took them too hard#I’m not perfect I KNOW THIS#but jeez I’ve been writing for two ish three idk years only leave me the fuck alone#just posting my shitty stories on ao3#for the handful of people who wanna read them#anyway thanks anon#I don’t really wanna keep talking about this#because I really get HUNDREDS of kind comments and asks and I have a beauitful following#but idk this irked me lately and I know it’s made me less confident#& less enthusiastic to post new chapter#(but not less enthusiastic to write them haha)

in the midst of getting all of our news and opinions and information in general from social media so many people online have forgotten that it’s the wild fucking west and literally anyone can just lie and say they’re a doctor and that drinking bleach is good for you. I’ve been seeing so fucking many warning posts along the lines of “sometimes people online lie!! reminder that people online can pretend to be someone else and spread false information!!” like yeah I thought this was common knowledge. we as a society need to realize that the internet is not always a reliable source of information, and that the people on here hide behind a shroud of anonymity, allowing them to genuinely be anyone. do not trust xxboyslutxx on TikTok with how to treat your crippling acid reflux or lose 10 pounds or whatever. check your sources or read a book at your local library
#actual sugar post#not trying to sound bigoted or weird or anything because a lot of valuable information has gotten more accessible through the internet#but good god it is depressing to see that people need to be REMINDED that people online are capable of telling lies#this is the telling lies hub. the telling lies capital of the world#reactionary mindsets on here have just destroyed peoples ability to see when someone’s shitting you and when you should back up#don’t get too comfortable or trusting on here#I could absolutely be a middle aged man. you guys would never know#anyways. start teaching internet safety again it’s so important now more than ever#rambles#blabbering#internet safety#izzy.txt#text post
