actually sorry dav reads like a game that was written by people who think da2 is about found family. in every other game my ending feels earned and my choices are my own and then veilguard asks the bold question what if we could bring the hr mandatory team bonding experience into a video game?

Imagine being on the verge of death, your mind being ripped apart by the very gods. You beg and you pray and none of the gods you know and worship show up for you. They all leave you to die. Except one person. They come for you at your time of need and they save you when they didn't have to. In fact, they had more reason to kill you, but they risked their own life to save you anyway.

You travel around with them and watch all the things that they do. You question them, try to understand them, because they intrigue you. They are extraordinary. They are powerful. They are exquisite! They see the world in the same way you do, value the same things that you do. They are willing to stand before the very gods themselves and defy them, challenge them, and destroy them. And you accept them for everything that they are. You appreciate them for everything that they are. And you wouldn't want to change a single thing about them because you think they are marvelous just the way that they are! You love them with everything that you have, because they exist in the way that they do. You are loyal to them, devoted to them. You want to go where they go, do what they do, see what they see, because you can't imagine a life without them.

And then they turn around and look at you and say you are broken. That you need to be fixed. To be changed to be "better". You realize that they do not accept you in the same way you accept them. You realize that they didn't take a single moment to try to understand you. That the only parts of you that they like are what is convenient for them. And whatever they do not like, they want to scrape out of you and replace it with what they think would make you "better". They have spent this entire time, harshly judging you despite not spending a single second to get to know you. They want you to change, not for your sake, but to appease them. To them, you were only worth it because they thought they could change you, remold you into something that would make them feel better about being in your presence. Because your presence disturbs them. And when you make it clear that you will live as you are and you will not compromise for the approval of others, they throw you away and discard you. Calling you cruel, and evil, and a genocidal lunatic, when all you have ever done is just try to survive whatever situation you found yourself in.

Minthara accepts you and loves you for who you are and will NEVER ask you to change a single thing about yourself, and especially not for her sake. She wants you to just be... you. She likes you just the way that you are. She doesn't always agree with every single thing that you do, but by the gods, she will still love you anyway. No matter what choice you make, good or evil, she will still love you and accept you and go along with whatever you want to do.

Why won't you show her the same courtesy? Why do you only love companions when you think you can change them into what you want them to be? Why do you look at companions and only see their flaws and see it as something that immediately needs to be fixed into something you like? Why do you abandon companions when you realize that you can't change them into something you want? Why does she have to be the one to change? Are you willing to change for her?

Do you ever spend a single second asking yourself why Minthara is the way that she is? Cause if you did, you'd realize that she shouldn't be changed, and she can't. This isn't to say that Minthara can't change at all, she just can't and won't in the way that you want her to be. Minthara is very confident in herself and has been through many tribulations in her long life and has prevailed above them all, because she is the way that she is. She is proud, strong, loyal, and a survivor. And you are telling her that all of that is wrong.

i can't believe so many people hate certain disco elysium NPCs because they're mean to harry. as the player you control him, sure, but at the end of the day he's a cop. he's an eccentric and erratic man in a position of power. whatever gripes i personally have with the game, it's very aware of its politics. even the friendliest cops can turn on a dime, they're tools of fascism and the narrative doesn't try to hide that. i'm surprised by how quickly people forget that they're not playing as themself, they're playing as a man with his own history and place in the world, however much his behavior and values might shift to match the player's.

i posted about it last night, but there's really not more to it than what's in that chaotic paragraph. nothing is written and i don't even have any scenes plotted out other than that oscar/carlos one. but in summary: oscar thinks lando and carlos are dating and keeping it a secret very poorly. and oscar is really okay with that. and totally not jealous of carlos. at all.

i think the trouble with ctlf is that it basically has to be set during the 2023 season, which i did not watch and which has a different vibe to it than the landoscar of 2024, where oscar's a bit more confident with his personality and lando is a bit more settled in their dynamic. so it might end up ooc, bc i'm not confident in my ability to write that version of them...

i tried to brainstorm a list of random vibes/ideas about it for you since there's nothing much to share:

obligatory oscar trying to chill out in his driver's room during [insert random f1 season downtime here] and hearing carlos and lando giggling through the wall. probably some thumping. maybe "carlos, stop, he's going to hear!" oscar smushing his pillow over his head and hating his life soooo mf bad.

it's not that oscar's homophobic. he's really not homophobic. like so not homophobic that he sometimes even pictures guys, like, when he's getting off in the shower or before bed. he doesn't care that lando probably has a boyfriend. he cares that they're making it his problem. he cares that he has to meet lando in the hallway after overhearing that shit and see his flushed cheeks and his lip between his teeth and his hands twisted together sheepishly and think of lando's lip between other teeth and his hands in other hands. and he hates that halfway through the loop of trying so hard not to think about lando and carlos that he's just picturing them more, the white white teeth behind the pouty lips black stubble strong jaw become. other teeth. like... longer teeth. smaller hands around lando's hands. he needs to stop thinking about guys in the shower, probably.

(this is giving carcar on the homosocial spectrum on accident........ like this could so easily be a carcar fic too if i fw that. anyway.)

also-obligatory close-call scene where oscar awkwardly fumbles through a "hey, i've been meaning to tell you... i like. i don't care if. i like... also? guys. sometimes." and lando blinking man like "...... i caught none of that, mate." and oscar like "i mean. if you. theoretically. liked people other than women. that wouldn't matter to me. because i also. sometimes." and lando looks so hopeful for a second and is like "wait, are you saying-" and then carlos/zak/their engineers/literally anyone calls for one of them, ending convo before it gets anywhere.

drunk lando in the club half on carlos' lap, carlos' arm around him but lando's chin on oscar's shoulder. oscar's not sure how in the world the conversation got where it is, but suddenly lando's looking up at him with red red lips and glazed eyes and saying, "loads of people have fucked their teammates in f1 before. it's like, tradition. everyone talks about it. it's not that weird." and oscar is just so not sure what he's even supposed to say to that.

landoscar getting close but lando still goes to carlos when he's upset. maybe oscar's a little hurt about that. because he hasn't got a partner to rub his back and pet his hair about finishing outside the points, obviously, and not because he wants to be the one to do those things to lando. obviously.

anyway. it's nothing very cohesive. it's not high on the priority list. good chance even if i DO write it that none of this would be included anyway, but. that's the general vibe. thanks for the ask friend!!!!!

i do love canon amy & rory but god, does some part of me wish they really had gone with the idea of the doctor picking up a child as a companion (and then later, that child’s best friend with a huge crush on her.) with the rest of the season really not changing at all, except now it’s amelia pond with an angel in her head killing her and lost alone in the woods. it’s little rory who dies and is forgotten and becomes a toy soldier. if this is going to be a fairy tale, then let it be one. children have never been safe in fairy tales.

if dorian didn't show up, do you think louis would have shot minnie?

I do. I know some people think either he wouldn't have or he would've missed so that's why the writers had him shoot Dorian instead, but mmmmmm no, I don't personally think so. I like to think that if he had taken the shot, his shaky hands would've caused him to shoot her fatally.

Mostly because I'm already so normal about the fact that of the Ericson crew, Marlon and Louis are the only ones with a body count. Well, that we know of, but shown to us in the game, at least. Plus, we know it's Louis' first kill.

Like yeah, Clementine and AJ become part of the crew and they have bigger body counts, and if we're counting indirect kills caused by actions, then Tenn has a count... and I guess everyone has blood on their hands for blowing up the boat... but I'm talking about killed directly with a weapon like....... I lied, I'm not normal about that at all, Louis and Marlon are the ones who have killed someone in Louis' route. I'm also not normal about the fact that Louis kills Dorian and then even as he's clearly in shock, he tries to go with Clementine to get AJ, and then later on when they talk about it, he says it feels like bile but not quite and he's glad he has it in him to do it.... listen, listen, listen... I'm obsessed with that.

Anyway, so if Louis shot Minerva, I think he would've accidentally killed her and can you imagine? He's already enough of a mess after killing the woman who pinned him down and tried to cut his finger off [or succeeded] but he knew Minerva, they were friends before the twins were taken. Even Violet couldn't kill her even though that would've been the smarter thing to do, and we know thanks to meta knowledge that killing her would've saved lives, but Violet couldn't, and I don't think Louis would intentionally either.

Speaking of Violet, if Louis killed Minerva, I hate to think about what that would've done to Vi. I think she might've actually left at that point, like what was planned before it got changed to her being burned. I don't think she would've attacked Louis over it, though, like yeah she attacked Clementine in the cell but Louis? I don't know, but I don't think so just because it's Louis and he'd be a mess about it anyway.

Though if he did kill her, it would be a neat parallel to draw... y'know, because Louis forgave AJ for killing Marlon even though he was pissed and heartbroken, and Violet was annoyed with him the entire time... but could she ever forgive Louis for killing Minerva? Y'know? We already have a similar parallel with AJ shooting Tenn, but still.

If Clementine killed Minerva in that moment, though, then I could see Violet attacking her since in her eyes, Clem proved her right.

So yeah, I get why they added the Dorian kill to his route. It adds another compelling element to Louis as a character, but we also need Minerva alive for episode 4; Louis can't kill her, he can't miss, and he's not going to stay with her because we need Violet to stay on the boat and him to be on shore for all routes.

By the way, High Elves aren't the only ones insulted in the first meeting of ACT 1 Minthara, (and in fact it tells me exactly what your Tav is if you talk about which insult is thrown at you), every single race gets insulted and called inept and worthless to her until proven otherwise. The only ones that don't get insulted are female drow, and the bias for that is obvious.

BODY

— 5-10K steps a day.

— 7-8 hours of sleep.

— workout everyday for 1 hr atleast- yoga/stretching/pilates/cardio/lifting weights. a workout may take one hour, but your mood will be boosted for the next 12 hours.

— posture training.

— sunlight exposure after waking up for at least 10 minutes.

NUTRITION

— 2-3 liters of water every day.

— limit your caffeine intake.

— avoid sugars as much as you can.

— high protein diet, pre and probiotics.

— more fruits and veggies (+ green smoothies if you like).

— no junk/processed food/trans fat.

— no eating after 8 pm.

SKINCARE

— be clear on your skin type (oily, dry, combination, sensitive).
