The Gaunt family in the Harry Potter universe canonically married their cousins for generations. Unfortunately, it’s painted in a negative way, at least for the Gaunts because they became very unstable and fanatical.
In Hogwarts Legacy, we do meet a lovely Gaunt named Ominis. It’s never explicitly stated who his parents are, but I think they likely are cousins because the Gaunt family tradition of, well, keeping it in the family. It’s revealed they’re very cruel, including to Ominis, unfortunately.
Almost all the “pure blood” families are marrying cousins one way or the other. I doubt it’s the cousin-marrying that killed off the Gaunts though, and more likely genetic mental illness, extreme poverty in the early 1900s, plus the negative family culture they fostered by being obsessed with dark magic and blood status for centuries.
I don’t believe the cousinbanging was inherently bad. Ginny and Harry are 3rd cousins through the House of Black, meaning Harry is also related to Draco, Sirius, Bellatrix, Narcissa, Voldy’s daughter Delphini (though I pretend the Cursed Child doesn’t exist lol), Tonks, and probably half of Hogwarts. They’re all just cousins. 😂 The muggleborns really are in the minority. Like who ISNT related to Harry? 😆 All of Slytherin House is probably related to each other because their families are usually purebloods or halfbloods. The least related are probably in Hufflepuff. 😂
I'm glad the Gaunt character in Hogwarts Legacy isn't awful. It sounds like there might have been a lot of factors that brought the family down, especially black magic. I don't remember too much about them.
I didn't realize Harry and Ginny were 3rd cousins. I'm so glad that's not common knowledge because you just know there would be some antis who would be dramatic about it. I remember the books go into Sirius and Tonks being related, but it's fun to parse out the other connections, too.
That's a good point about Slytherin.

man i hope this isnt weird and i know its a little weird but ive followed you for a while and feel a deep kindred spirit with you. i know its only parasocial and we arent mutuals so its all good but like some of the things you post resonate with me so deeply and you articulate things abt yourself that i also feel abt my self but you articulate them better than i ever could. also we have very similar hair but i usually weird mine buzzed but when it grows out it looks a lot like yours and you rock it in ways i never feel confident enough to do. idk i just saw your post abt being a bad person but not in the ways ppl think you are and thats like something i think to myself all the time like i wish ppl who think im good knew i was bad and ppl who think im bad knew how wrong they were abt the ways im bad. and things youve posted abt being a stupid person and having ppl be like "youre not" resonate too bcuz its like im painfully PAINfully aware of my own stupidity and bumbling thru like but my loved ones dont want me to think that way or acknowledge it but i think there is something truly liberating in knowing i am inherently dumb in a lot of ways and to a lot of things and i have to work harder to live a good life bcuz of it. idk. im doing a bad job of explaining myself here. but anyways. i just wanna say thanks for putting your thoughts on this website for me to follow and keep doing you, bcuz youre doing it great.
Well I hope it's not weird for me to post this, I suppose it is anonymous after all; it feels kind of private to me but also I am also having a freakishly difficult couple of weeks and it was meaningful to hear someone say "I know what you're talking about." (I think you are speaking very clearly btw) I feel like a lot of the rhetoric society uses to address people who have depression is devised by people who don't suffer from it, like there's a lot of language about how "you're not alone" and a lot of idealizing talk about how great the self-denigrating sufferer appears to others, and that's nice and all but it kind of dismisses the individual's own personal experience of themselves. A person is more complex than their need for extra hugs or attention or something, and a person's perception of themselves/experience of having to be with themselves is not contingent on the perceptions of others even if the external impressions are positive. I don't know, I hate to shit on supportive behaviors but a lot of them are basically dismissive of a person's status as the de facto expert on themselves; I don't really think it's ultimately helpful to make people feel like they don't know what they're talking about, about their own selves. It can be maddening actually, and idealizing talk in particular has a way of suggesting that things have to be great for them to be at all acceptable. Which is really oppressive to tell the truth.
Interlude: In grade school my best friend's class had to do this exercise where they made acronyms of of their first names using various personal qualities, and the teachers gave her shit because for the letter A she used Adequate, and they thought this was, like...bad and had to be corrected.
Anyway I have always written very obsessively and I think it's related to wanting to be understood. Which is not the same thing as wanting to be appreciated, or wanting to feel not-alone. I think I just want someone to say they know what I'm talking about, instead of telling flattering lies or suggesting that something is wrong to say or dismissable just because it seems negative or painful. As if discomfort is automatically invalidating. Someone asked me recently if I journal and I laughed because I've done it all my life, and also because I actually have a SACK of journals under my bed, one regular one, one for dreams, one that's about my dysfunctional relationship with money and materials, etc. And then there's my various blogs of course. I have a couple of semi-pro writing projects going too that I hope I get to announce soon. But it's really all about just the fantasy of articulating something so carefully, preferably in ink (or "ink"), that no one can possibly pretend that they don't know what I'm talking about ever again.
It's funny that we wear our hair the same. I used to wear it half-shaved but my hair grows so fast, it gave me a lot of anxiety. But on that note I must say that whatever pictures of me you see are like 1/1000, I find it very hard to take a picture I'm satisfied with and I often just wind up feeling embarrassed, but ultimately I think I'm just trying to fix some positive mental image of myself even though I know we're all different people at different hours of each day. I dunno. Actually it becomes problematic because a couple of people are always telling me how "photogenic" I am and then I'm like WHY DID IT TAKE ME THREE HOURS TO GET THIS ONE SHOT THEN, and they refuse to believe me when I explain how many pictures I throw out. They think they're doing me a big favor by pretending everything is effortless for me. I have especial problems with my hair, probably every picture you see of me was anxiously snapped at some exact moment when it was behaving! So don't worry, I'm having a really hard time with my appearance basically always. Pictures other people take of me are mortifying, and I'm always like FUCK, that's what they think is a good, representative photo of me? Uh oh. Pictures I take of myself are usually taken in an emergency in fleeting, ephemeral moments where I suddenly look ok to myself.
This morning I went to the church where I've been going since February, a beautiful place full of eccentric older people I have fallen a little in love with. Sometimes I'm tempted to actually convert to Catholicism, like maybe that would be the gothest thing I could do, but I know that I will always believe in abortion and the right to suicide and I'm not too sure about hell or the historical Jesus or papal authority. I just really like it in this specific church. This morning one of the oldest ladies who goes on the weekdays like me introduced herself, she was very sweet and she was wearing hoops that were styled like chains, I don't think she realized they were bad bitch earrings, they just looked nice on her. She said it was nice to see "young people" getting involved with the church, and I wanted to tell her I turned 42 last week, but I might still be the youngest person there! When I met some of the other folks last month they told my husband that he looked like Geraldo Rivera, and then remarked that they thought we were too young to be aware of Geraldo. I told them we're old enough, we're just packed in our own oil. Anyway this is my big excuse to post selfies I was struggling with, I feel more conflicted about them these days, but I guess I'm still compelled. Thanks so much for your understanding, and have a good night!

In the context of supply and narc rage, do you have any thoughts on “narc highs”/“narc crashes”? Is there maybe a better way to phrase those? Are highs/lows/crashes just better off being described rather than used with short hand, regardless of whether or not we tack on the word “narc(issist)”. Actually, another addition - is there an aspd/bpd equivalent to the phenomena of emotion-specific buzzwords that don’t actually Help the person? So far, it seems like people latch onto emotion-buzzwords the most when it comes to npd. (I mean, maybe aspd/bpd rage but supply is almost always associated with npd.). I like reading your takes on this stuff
i think high/low/crash/spiral are still all fairly useful words, their meanings are used in many contexts and stay consistent across the board and do describe their specific emotional circumstances well. it's definitely always good to expand further on that for ur own sake, what kind of spiral, is it shame, embarrassment, failure, ect. but at least in my experience those havent had the same kind of negative or dehumanizing connotations that words like supply do. probably because they are used by so many other disorders as well, so it's harder to isolate and pigenhole them like that. but i do think adding "narc/narcissist" to them does kind of pathologize it a bit but thats a minor gripe and really moreso depends on the context of how its being used
i havent seen quiet as many buzzwords for aspd and bpd, but i think thats because most of the npd buzzwords were ones that got a lot of traction in narc abuse spaces and got popularized that way, and there isnt really the same kind of organized cult surrounding hating aspd and bpd. while narc abuse truthers do definitly go after people with aspd as well and rant on and on about "psychopaths" and "sociopaths" their language isnt as targeted towards aspd the way it is npd. there isnt quiet the same obsession with pathologizing and demonizing every single emotion and thought that ppl have, which is how u get so many buzzwords i feel like
cause i think that's really what differentiates something from being a useful new term to describe a unique experience, and a negative term that pathologizes every emotion and others/dehumanizes ppl. like, for example the word splitting for bpd is a much more universally accepted (at least from my understanding) term within the bpd community, and thats mostly because it originated with borderlines trying to describe their extreme emotional state. it's rooted in an emotion anyone can have, suddenly having ur emotions or feelings for someone change drastically, but the way it manifests and the intensity of it is unique for ppl with bpd and linked to their disordered and dysregulated emotions, and thus is a useful term. it describes what their emotions are doing, as opposed to describing some inherent negative need that only they have
whereas with something like supply, that isnt rooted in a human emotion or experience, and it forcefully dehumanizes the other non-npd person in the conversation which demonizes the narcissist. it has a negative connotation that says that what we are experiencing in that moment isnt a disordered or dysregulated emotion or an interpersonal dysfunction, but is instead a harmful need that cannot be fulfilled in a healthy way because the need itself is wrong. because "supply" as its defined is inherently harmful to the non-npd person, therefore ppl with npd should be denied it. but saying "actually supply is a human need that everyone has" doesnt really work, because it isnt. because the understood definition of supply is inherently disordered. it describes the shallow and often maladaptive attention and validation that we seek out in negative nad harmful ways out of desperation because we dont yet understand how to ask for, receive, and give ourselves, healthy validation and attention. supply as its understood is inherently harmful to the people its being taken from. and so u cant really disentangle it well in order to use it positively or in a way that promotes healthy growth and healing for ppl with npd. it's not a word that actually helps us describe our experience
and so to me i think thats why u dont see as many of these kinds of words surrounding other disorders, because for npd specifically, these words are being created with the intention to negatively pathologize and demonize all of our emotions and motivations in a way that dehumanizes us

[parasocial bestie] idk about oumasai but i def know about the former and for the billionth time im so grateful ur not on twt if tumblr has already shown that side of the Treatment for them bestie 💀💀 like genuinely me too i dont in any way wanna take out the enjoyment ppl have on that particular pair but I DO (and leave me tf alone) WANT TO EXPRESS HOW ITS JUST. not for me bruv. for so many reasons so many personal views cus its not just some first impression i been there since the pairing even Happened and ive thought through So Hard of all facts and scenes to conclude it (and also keeping them at a good r/s but not in the pair type of way?? imo i dont even see these two as closely familial either im also mixed abt the misconception and misuse of found family as one who LOVES found family) o(-( SO LIKE YEA.... exhaustion
"i wanna be /neg in the comfort of my own home" is the truest ever just scream into a wall of complaining but also accepting things wont go your way anyway,, and its not like im in the mindset im down bad hard Desperate for my own pairs 2 be official too. like idk?? this thing abt canonicity do be sumn that messes the fanbase up fr im just gonna be out there playing with my dolls and roll around in my delirium leaving everyone else alone 😭🤙
naur bc i will NEVER understand the obsession w/ wanting pairings to become canon??????? a) i love love Love when few to no pairings are canon just bc that leaves so much more room for imagining various pairings and how they would work in canon without there being a direct contradition, b) im gonna be so fr. most of my own pairings i do NOT trust the original source to do correctly
like,,, rwby ships for example bc there are SO many of those. freezerburn is never going to be canon, it never was, EVERYTHING about yang and blakes designs and development point to bmblb in every way. i fully trust rwby to make bmblb happen and to make it Work and Happen Well. same with renora. but freezerburn or renorarc? I Do Not Trust Them. i am SO much happier with neither of those being canon and me having free reign to imagine them happening or developing however i like and see best than i ever would be with either of them becoming canon and having a much more set-in-stone way of going down. crwby once said freezerburn would be divorced like THEY DON'T GET IT !!!!!!!! fools. cowards. they do not understand Not Like I Do. and thats how i feel about most of my own ships.
idk its just. imo so much more fun to have hundreds or thousands of fans with hundreds or thousands of different interpretations coming up with their own ideas and concepts than it is to see the One canon thing being canon. even if canon is done super well !!! thats part of why aus are so fun, why rewrites and re-imaginings are so fun !! i actively Do Not Want the vast majority of my ships to become canon how the FUCK r so many people out here arguing over which ship is or isnt :sob: and also who cares ??? whether or not smth is canon doesnt make it like. right or wrong that it exists. canon isnt inherently better or more valid it's just. canon. does that make sense. idk if any of this makes any sense god help me

Yeah the tale is pretty sad and unfair, but you know how myths can be one thing and evve into something else through time and repetition. I think what people may pull from it is that narcissus was so obsessed with himself that he never considered others, but you're right that it's sad and he needed help. Alas people tend not to think that way, whatever is easiest you know? People dont like helping if there isnt a clear benefit to them.
Anyways I think that your point of "people should know better" doesnt apply as much in this situation because a lot people dont actually know about narcissistic personality disorder and even fewer can separate narcissism (the trait) from narcissistic personality disorder.
Using psychopath is an interesting case because the word was applied to the personality disorder during a time where psychology was pretty new, ergo a great way of describing something "wrong". Plus used for movies and stuff to describe murderers.thats why it falls into Antisocial Personality Disorder now instead of being called psychotic. Evolving the name to be more accurate and distancing it from the negative word associated to it helps turn it from a demonized diagnosis to a mental medical condition.
Not to say that I think people should never change, but I think there comes a point where if people associate the word far more with the negatives rather than evolving to meet a new definition, it might be best just to come up with a new word.
It would be a clean slate, separation from negative stereotypes and help make it a mental medical condition and not be something demonized.
Like I get not wanting to change it, it is unfair, but I think that a lot of the unfairness came from how it was named. It wasnt a name thought up out of no where, the condition was given a name that was already viewed poorly. It was given a bad name right from the get go.
That's just how I think of it though. It's a ton harder to change the definition of a word based in mythology (which means it has been around for hundreds or even thousands of years) to something that only a very small section of the english speaking population knows about. Like if someone wasnt studying psychology or wasnt in a certain online hemisphere they may never run into the definition of narcissistic personality disorder.
But yeah hopefully that wasnt confusing. Also I dont wanna sound blamey like it's your fault for the disorder having such a poor and stigmatized name. It sucks and I sympathize and hope people dont trest you badly
It's kind of ironic. A person was hurting himself but was punished for this, instead of being helped or left alone. With the tale at least.
With all the information being so easily available it shouldn't be THAT hard to learn more. Or at least listen to people. Because even in the healthcare the condition is demonized. So I guess we need to change THEM first, then give some good rep in media and easily accessable not demonizing articles. Yeah I guess I can see how it's harder to figure out the truth. But still in our era where people are much more mindful, somehow 'Evil Person' disorder shouldn't sound very... real or fair.
Phsycopath is still used. The change of the disorder didn't make the insult dissappear. Just because it's not an official name anymore doesn't mean people don't use it to still describe people with ASPD. If there is a villian in media, he will be claimed to be psycopath or narcissist, still holding those disorders in mind. Because that's the description of the word.
I am not sure what to think about the word change. It feels too close to 'queer was used as a slur so we must drop it'. Bigots will use a different word for slur, that's their goal. So NPD will be changed, there is a high chance people will just adjust their vocabulary since they openly claim to people with NPD to be inherently abusive. Not just people who have narcissist traits.
Shouldn't it be easier to just... not use this one word?

Hello, cow loving nerd here- prefacing this with just. I'm not trying to be rude, in case I come off that way. Cause I'm very overenthusiastic and sometimes that comes off wrong! I just love cattle and talking about cattle and cattle welfare, and I get way too excited whenever cattle are mentioned, even passingly. So. Just wanted to share a bit of info about cattle welfare!
Even tho the treatment of cattle is often viewed as the worst thing ever, the cattle industry is actually one of the best (if not the best- I'm not sure if any niche industry is regulated better) regulated livestock industry! I highly recommend looking up Temple Grandin- she's an autistic woman, and she has done a ton to improve welfare for cattle! It's really cool- she even developed humane methods of slaughtering cattle! She also viewed cattle as living individuals, rather than simply property! I'm always quite sad when people assume that the cattle industry is bad for the animals, cause it also means that not enough people have heard about her and her accomplishments- which isnt anyone's fault ofc, she's just really cool and I wish more people knew about her!
(Again, I hope this doesnt sound condescending or anything- I just always like chattering when people mention the cattle industry, cause it's so interesting that it's gotten such a bad reputation to the non-cow obsessed public, when in reality chicken and pig industries are far more unethical- unfortunately, no one has quite stood up for them in the same way that Temple Grandin stood up for cattle.)
(Also, every industry does need pressure to do better, so pressure should keep being put on them! But I know that worrying about things can be mentally draining, so I always find it nice to know when animals arent being treated horribly.) (Btw, note, I'm not a professional or associated with the industry by any means, I just love cows a lot vhdjcjdncjf)
Anyways, infodumping ramble over! Btw, may I ask why the lettuce industry is bad? I'm not as good at keeping up with plant agriculture (or, well, any non bovine agriculture) as I am with cattle, but I do like to know about the ethics of food, if you wouldnt mind dropping a link?
Also, happy new year! - cowlos-reyes
(Quick little fun fact: feed for dairy cows is sometimes supplemented with bakery waste! So sometimes they get chocolate, caramel, breads, cookies, etc! It's not stuff that would be fed to humans- just stuff that would be tossed!)
oh! my! goodness! anon, your ask is not condescending or rude at all, it’s actually brought me so much joy!! i love hearing about people’s niche interests, and i love opening up nuanced conversation! i will absolutely look up temple grandin!! thank you for letting me know about her!!
as for my cattle industry take being bad, i truly do not think that the industry is as inherently bad for the cattle as it is for the environment, but even then, the cattle industry only makes up four percent of the greenhouse gases polluting the atmosphere. most of it comes from architecture and industrialization, but that’s a whole other can of worms!
i just figured since you mentioned that the cattle industry gets a bad wrap, i would like to deflect some of that negative energy (towards the cattle industry) to my arch nemesis: lettuce:
lettuce is 99% water. i feel like we know this, but the rest of lettuce basically has no nutritional value, and it’s truly a waste of fresh water to produce. in fact, according to water calculator.org, a single salad has a water footprint of about twenty-one gallons of fresh water! that is twenty one gallons of fresh water going into something that will not fill you or give you energy!
don’t get me wrong! i love healthy foods, but lettuce being 98% water means at minimum that water has to go into it just for it to exist, plus extra water for it to grow! for literally nothing!! even if people struggle to comprehend the ethics of the cattle industry (at least from an environmentalist standpoint), the nutritional value speaks for itself!
an average cow will drink 10-15 gallons of water a day. the lifetime of that cow will result in them drinking somewhere in the ballpark of 75,000 gallons of water in their lifetime.
now, according to the university of arizona, it generally takes about 40-50 inches of water per acre to grow a good, desirable head of lettuce, or, to generate a good harvest of lettuce crop.
one inch of water over one acre equals about 27,000 gallons of water. AN INCH. OVER AN ACRE. THIS MEANS AT 40 INCHES OF WATER (the low end of water recommended for lettuce growth) THAT IS 1.08 MILLION FUCKING GALLONS
FOR AN ACRE OF LETTUCE
there are still people in the US and all around the world that can’t get access to clean, fresh water. it’s a resource that is running out and quite literally is THE resource that fosters life, and we are letting people go thirsty, and letting the planet heat up and dry out, so we can eat CRUNCHY WATER??????
about 15-20 cows can be kept alive for THEIR ENTIRE LIFESPAN with enough water it takes to grow A SINGLE ACRE OF LETTUCE.
not to mention beef is high in iron and protein and vitamins and tastes a hell of a lot better than crunchy plant water.
anyway, tldr: fuck the lettuce industry, don’t get mad at cattle farmers for trying to make a living. the climate is changing due to corporations cutting corners and polluting the environment just so they can use cheaper materials. the cattle industry is not bad, and i very very much loved this anon ask.
ps: GIVE THE COWS COOKIES ALL DAY EVERY DAY OR I WILL SOB ARE U KIDDING ME that’s SO CUTE I BET THEYRE SO HAPPY

personally i love how leahs investigation pans out because she is wrong. she knows something is up and assumes it is shelby because of her disappearing act, which instantly robs her of credibility from the other girls. i as a viewer knew it wasn't shelby because itd be too easy for her to be the operative because shes the one who always found the bags, and i knew it was nora the second that jumped her during her screaming match on the beach. ( i had suspected bc of her apologizing to rachel for seemingly nothing and keeping a meticulous log, however.) leah sees this as nora being nora because her deescalating situations and keeping unnecessary information are both very in character and have been shown throughout the season. plus, leah was the only one to hear the phone ring, as well as the one to drop the decoy phone in the ocean which was meant to give credence to the assumption that the ju lin would say she didnt have her phone on her.
the agents try to manipulate leah by saying that her overcuriostity gave her trouble, and that it was inherently a fault that needed fixing. which is half true, because it made her convince herself her best friend sent her old ass boyfriend the birth certificate (which may or may not be true). her true fault isnt her curiosity, but her predisposition to jumping to conclusions and impulsivity, ie breaking off her friendship pre island, fighting with fatin, and accusing shelby. with fatin its not that the other girls think that leah is wrong (in fact i think they agree that fatin is being a bad teammate in all this) its that she escalates the sitution to such a degree that she could have gotten fatin killed. with shelby, her disappearing act would seem shady to an already suspicious leah, who jumps the gun out of impulse and accuses her, which doesn’t check out to the other girls because its know shelby disappears off when she gets overwhelmed (oyster scene, pill scene, kiss scene, accusation scene, alcohol scene) in order to come back and act unbothered. in addition to her alibi of dentures, leah is seen as once again being explosive and unstable.  when she fights with rachel in the forest about fatin, and refuses to give up looking for her, it is shown how stubborn she is and that once she gets attached to an idea she cannot let it go (her boyfriend, best friend betrayal, something being up, fighting over the water, finding fatin, trying to drown herself) her fixations can be her strength, too, because it leads to them finding fatin alive and is what keeps her investigating past what others are willing to.
she isnt the only one suspicious, namely fatin, but is the only one who fixates to this degree. fatin believes somthing is up but knows leah is acting erratically, and fatin is much more methodical and calculated then that. dot is busy organising everything and keeping eveyone alive and doesnt want to give leah credibility beacuse she might do something crazy if her ideas are validated. shelby by the point of the bunker is OBVIOUSLY suspicious (you were right note) but a) leah accused her b) she is having her own crisis and c) always pushes down the negative to retain her camp counselor-esque pagentry persona. nora is a) the mole and b) protecting her sister, so she tries to be the peacekeeper to dispell any further questions. marty tries to see the good in everything and everyone despite being proven otherwise and would be in denial of being taken advantage of. toni is explosive but not obsessive and lives more in the short term then thinking in any long term conspiracies. rachel is just as obsessive and explosive, maybe even more so then anyone else, but she is obsessed with diving and athletics, and doesnt have time or energy to think about anything or anyone else. as each character explores these traits and weaknesses, they learn more about themselves and thereby open up the opportunity for them to realistically start to question their environment to the extent leah has, which is the perfect point to start off season two.
so the TLDR is that leah is obsessive and compulsive to a fault therefore both losing credibility in her ideas and being the only one to take a conpiracy that far. however character growth from all the characters lends itself to the idea that by season two they will have to use their newfound bonds and work together, because all of their character flaws are complimented by others’ strengths perfectly to the point of them becoming dramatic foils for eachother.
and yes this is why leah is my favorite character closely followed by the other 7 lol thx bye

THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE; Mun & Muse - Meme.
fill out & repost ♥ This meme definitely favors canons more, but I hope OC’s still can make it somehow work with their own lore, and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. Multi-Muses pick the muse you are the most invested in atm. tagged by: @forseenclade thank you ! man i am so bad at doing memes.  tagging: @blossomingbeelzebug @zhrets @lupichorous @dansiere yayayayayayayaya
My muse is:   canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless / complicated [ z/iggy stardust is DEFINITELY not my original character, but 683 is, and every single part of how i rp ziggy from his backstory to his personality was made up by me. that being said, ziggy is still a character that exists in media. ]
Is your character popular in the fandom?  YES / NO. [ im pretty sure ziggy is tied with the thin white duke as one of b*wie’s most famous fictional personas? ]
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES ? / NO / IDK.
Is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK.
Are they underrated?  YES / NO / IDK. [ maybe a little overrated ]
Were they relevant for the main story?  YES / NO.
Were they relevant for the main character?  YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG.
Are they widely known in their world?  YES / NO.
How’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL. [ celebrity rock god of limitless talent vs inevitable overrated washup. most celebrities are polarizing anyways ]
How strictly do you follow canon?  — there isnt much canon to go off of i think? the album barely even states if ziggy is an alien and b*wie himself got really wishy washy about it (sometimes saying z is a human who was contacted by aliens, he was an alien himself, etc). i dont think we know anything about him besides what he looks like (red hair / weird eyes / pale / “well hung” lmao) and he has a band called the spiders from mars, he plays the guitar left handed, he’s bisexual + androgynous, and he’s charming and popular with the teens but inevitably is a victim of his own ego. and he dies.  that too.  but that’s literally it! we know Nothing else about him.  so i filled in all the gaps because my brain has worms.  theres a little bit of the story that verges on fantasy (that he’s some sort of messiah messenger for “the infinites,” whatever the fuck THAT means, david) so i nix that because i prefer hard scifi.  and theres one BIG part that i just ... deleted out of his canon, in that the world is ending in 5 years in his timeline, and he’s like ... aware of this ?  but that’s dumb and confusing.  i legit dont care anymore. my OC now.
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.  —  im so embarrassed i know i could be genuine and actually try but i have brain blockajjolajlakala33lak33klak333ak3jka3akjj323j3 i guess it’s like ... ziggy is truly the ultimate expression OF humanity because he reveals everything both wrong and right about the human condition, he literally embodies the best of humanity and the worst at the same time, he’s a really interesting critique on the idea of genuineness/earnestness vs commercalism in art, the perils of fame, and also how humans are so inherently corrupting?  a lot of thematic stuff i like exploring is like what is innate to humans vs what is learned behavior, what are things that humans do naturally that ziggy mimics out of his desire to be like us?  i think he has a really good story arc -- he went from being a literal nameless CLONE in a society full of pragmatic forward thinking science-oriented people to a sell out rockstar celebrity in a society of people that value individualism and self expression and art, but in the process completely lost his mind and himself and gave into the worst that humanity has to offer like rampant selfishness, drug abuse, self destructive tendencies, etc. characters changing is always interesting and ziggy truly changes for the worse -- but he is never just black and white, he was never good and then suddenly evil, he just was always the same person putting on different facades and trying to be himself by constructing an identity that maybe was who he wanted to be versus who he actually is.  i dont know what im talking about. hes just an alien trying to be too hard to be human in all the wrong ways.   i just like how “gray” ziggy is. he isnt good or bad, he can be very nice and he can be very mean, he’s overtly showboating confident but at the same time deeply afflicted with self-consciousness (why tf else would anyone be So obsessed with how they present themselves?).  hes an icon of individualism but also commercialism.  he’s freakishly alien but is almost more human than humans themselves.  he struggles as lot in his head -- which makes for interesting writing, i guess !!  Im so emabrrased im not going to go back and read what i wrote so if i typoed dont look at me
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  —  i think ziggy comes across as really mean and nothing else.  his horrible bitchy rudeness comes across as hee hee hoo hoo sassy isnt he a rascal when it’s supposed to be more like ... he’s so far gone into the celebrity delusion he’s conflated aggressive rudeness with charmingness because no one told him otherwise and everyone worships him to the point where he’s just given into the delusion that he can do no wrong.  i think theres the general simplification problem that happens with a lot of fictional characters, it’s easy to see him as just a whacky sassy glittery quirky rockstar when i guess it avoids the inherent tragedy of like ... everything else about him. his totally fake and false sense of identity built up from superficial things like fame and labels and stardom.  maybe my version of ziggy is just too weirdly depressing and sad when i know his original iteration wasn’t quite so ... grim.  im not very sure tbh.
What inspired you to rp your muse?  —  hmmm ... a lot of things! i just really got into b*wie stuff in early 2019, i’ve ALWAYS loved aliens and sci-fi, and i was really shocked that db sets up such great visual storytelling potential but does it through music.  i just really liked ziggys “story” and i like any chance to think about aliens so i just got invested into piecing together a little backstory for him using, like, the cumulative knowledge of literally every other piece of science fiction ive ever consumed in my life.  this was summer 2019 when i was making initial pitches for my thesis film, and so i just randomly decided to pitch “animated version of ziggy stardust” as one of the potential ideas.  shockingly everyone liked it a lot and so did my professor who thought it was really cool, and then i just ended up sticking with the character and working on him for an entire year.  ziggy became my hobby but also my homework.  he was such a fun character because everything about him was interesting to me and i had just enough source material to have a starting point but so much room to take him in any direction i wanted to.
What keeps your inspiration going?  —  honestly, yooooou guyssssss. i have some really amazing fwends that ive met thru here .... and some of our dumb stupid stories have literally become NOVEL length. it just self generates inspiration because you realize the limitless amount of stories you could tell with this one single character when your character enters his story or he enters their story and etc. etc.  ive drawn endless amounts of comics and stuff for him ... ziggy is just so endlessly interesting ...   cringe be cringed bro but recently (i know this sounds dumb bear with me or die.) ive kind of realized a lot of how i rp z comes as some metaphor for the experience of being an asian immigrant/being asian in the US -- his home “culture” is a lot stricter than the rampant selfish individualism of the usa (he only lives in the uk and usa, so he thinks the whole planet is like this), he’s dissuaded from standing out from his community and his selfishness becomes a community burden rather than a personal flaw, and when he does come to earth, he goes through such awful culture shock, literally nothing makes sense to him and everything is Different.  and while some things are different in a Nice way, something things are different in an Awful way, and he’s given the option between losing his true personal identity as an atominan and giving it up to be a human.  the allure of being a human is a little too much but losing yourself like this is traumatic, in a way.  obvs like ... a little silly and definitely not something that i actively intended to put into his story arc, its just something that fell into place cuz i guess i worked so closely with my own personal experiences and feelings of “alienation” (pun intended) to try to understand how he would feel being a literal alien an shid. its cathartic to write about him. but he also has a lot of my own personal interests just thrown in -- 70s fashion, scifi, science, tryhard implications about human nature, art history, whatever dumb nonsense i get into
Some more personal questions for the mun.
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you give your character justice?  YES / NO / SOMETIMES?
Do you frequently write headcanons?  YES / NO  [ i would prefer information to spring up organically in the story but cuz threads always get dropped i end up just telling people outright. i didnt want anyone to know his home planet/his old name but barely anyone writes enough with ziggy to get to that point to reveal it (i legit managed to do it organically Once) so i just had to write it in a post lmao orz ]
Do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES / NO [ wrote a ton of drabbles ! drew a ton of comics! ]
Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day? YES / NO
Are you confident in your portrayal?   YES / NO / I DUNNO?
Are you confident in your writing?  YES / HAHA NO.
Are you a sensitive person?  YES  / NO. / IDK ?
Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?  —  definitely!  like i said ... my version of ziggy ended up being the protag of my thesis film and for 1 yr straight his characterization, backstory, design, and even how i wanted to animate his fucking movements (ziggy stardust timing charts.) were beaten to death in a classroom environment, torn apart and rebuilt into something better.  had i stayed with what i originally wanted to go with, ziggy would be so different than how i write him 2day. amazingly my pre production professor is a literal two time emmy award winning storyboard artist and animator so he definitely helped me design him (my version of ziggy is meant for ... a cartoon, obviously, not real life) and give him a better backstory?  and my post production professor is a retired disney animator who worked on hercules and a bunch of old disney channel shows?  had i gone wah wah wah i dont want to hear ur critiques i wouldnt have made him better.  if you ever think ziggy seems inconsistent or poorly written ... tell me !! i literally major in ... animation. cartoons. entertainment.  my job is to entertain you. if you are not entertained, there is a problem.  ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED ????
Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?  —  I LOVE QUESTIONS? i love ... answering questions ... if you ask me something ill come kiss you.
If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?  —  sure! i dont know why that would happen, though, because i mean ... he’s an OC. but i gues someone could be like “i feel like this is incongruous to things you’ve previously established in his character” or somethin
If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?  —  i feel like a lot of b*wie stans would find my version of ziggy weird but i mean thats fine!  i guess my goal is to have a well written character, not necessarily an accurate version of ziggy
If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?  —  if you hate MY version of ziggy thats fine but if u hate ziggy stardust in general (like the bowie concept) then u need some taste what the fuck is cooler than a egomaniac genderless bisexual rockstar alien with red hair? nothing. go back to watching your CW shows you dirty filthy normie
Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?  —  yes! dm me though. dont clown me on the dash like that.  i usually write your replies 12 AM - 4 AM so it’s expected.
Do you think you are easy going as a mun?   —  hmmm ... maybe! i do like to talk to people and i am VERY nice, trust me, if youre ever sad ill do everything i can to make you feel better. but im quiet! i dont really reach out to people and i tend to just keep to myself.  im not very social or extroverted at all haha i barely can make ooc posts without feeling like god’s coming to beat my head in with a brick. im sitting here at 5:30 AM with this meme feeling like if i post it i will die (BUT I MUST)

7 Reasons The Nun (2018) Is The Best Feminist Horror Film Ever.
As we steadily approach Halloween, we often tend to stumble across a mess of films that make up the horror genre.
Amongst most of the trash churned up by production companies is a tangle of tropes designed to make you turn your back on films with sense, and instead eat your own body weight in popcorn.
And it was the changing of the leaves that reminded me of a film that unfortunately got caught up in these horrors of the horror film industry:
Last year, The Nun was released as a sequel to the iconic Conjuring series, tracing a demonic tale that runs through the films. And lord, she was panned.
Tumblr media
Horror film junkies didn’t show up to screenings, and if they did, they didn’t rate it highly.
Sure, it got mixed reviews.
Sure, it was haunted by its endless use of jumpscares.
And sure, it wasn’t the best clergyman in the congregation.
(Even though it somehow ended up as the film which made the most money out of the series…)
But something about it just clicked with me.
I liked how it was a small offshoot of my favourite set of flicks. And I loved how it weaved together the intricate stories that created the hula-hoop of horror plots.
But there was still something I just couldn’t quite work out!
It felt fresh, it felt different…
And it was only the other day that I worked it out, that the pieces clicked together, that I finally could finally yell ‘Eureka!’ at my dad over dinner.
I came to the realisation that The Nun is the feminist film we all need this October.
In fact, it jumpscared its way into the #MeToo movement, and fundamentally represented a takedown of the traditional portrayals of women in the genre of horror.
No, I take that back – every goddamn genre.
That’s why I’m here to stand in defense of The Nun.
Tumblr media
That’s why I’m here to contribute to the #MeToo movement, and take down the patriarchy one trope at a time.
Today’s post is going to take you through a rundown of women in the horror genre, how women have figured in the paranormal theories inspiring these films, and how The Nun is the feminist icon we should all stan this Halloween.
So, grab a crucifix, burn some popcorn in the microwave, and chuck on a white-purple-n-green sash.
Let’s get spooky.
How did horror films portray women before The Nun?
As made evident by recent allegations, convictions, and cases – or just, like, watching a film – you can see that most of the film industry has been stuck in the wrong century.
And it’s not difficult to decipher that horror films have featured prominent tropes that support this.
Their distressed and weak women are the fundamental building blocks to misogyny.
It’s even been traced to specific horror film genres, styles, and characters!
Tumblr media
Take slasher films:
From The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to fellow horror icon Carrie, these films have been traced back to the good ol’ American Dream. The middle-class aspirations reflected across society and into the films that furthered the negative – but mainly weak – images of women.
And these images became some of the most striking tropes in horror films.
The first of these tropes is the Final Girl.
She’s pure, and she’s untouched.
She doesn’t smoke, doesn’t drink, and most definitely doesn’t die.
The female virgin is the first character to see that things aren’t quite right, and she’s the only one to see us through the plot and finally kill that monster.
Tumblr media
(And yes, that vague plot works for basically every horror film ever…)
The Final Girl gets her name by taking on male characteristics, ditching her femininity and finally taking on the monster!
With her new-found masculinity, she can survive, and live up to her name.
But it’s only when she conquers the monster by turning her back on femininity that she embodies the next trope on our list:
The Female Monster.
One of the main factors reinforcing misogyny is the sexualisation of the female body.
And in case you hadn’t noticed, the oversexualisation of women is central to most horror films.
From awkward sex scenes, to the troubling portrayals of high school girls, women’s bodies have undergone their maximum objectification in the horror industry.
But what I want to talk about here is the female monster.
Tumblr media
Her body is not used for a picture-perfect DVD-cover shot, and it’s not put in slow-mo for a cringey running shot. Instead, horror films consider the female monster’s body as abject.
By bringing together the physical processes associated with women – which include menstruation and giving birth – the monster is constructed.
Just think of the obsession with the ‘hysterical woman’! The horror film industry has spent most of its years evoking the image of the ‘triggered woman.’
Thus, the female monster is based on physical disgust as well as the masochism she seeks – this is what drives a wedge between male and female villains:
Male monsters commit sadistic acts in the aim of self-mutilation. Female monsters on the other hand commit such acts to avenge the abuse carried by those around them.
Take I Spit On Your Grave or Carrie.
Both iconic horror flicks, both iconic examples of the female monster:
Carrie avenges her high school class and spends most of the plot covered in pigs’ blood, echoing her original menstrual difficulties; and Jennifer is sported on the film posters as wearing little clothing and smeared in a sexy array of mud from which she seeks revenge on her rapists.
Tumblr media
Evidently this fulfils the role of the ‘male gaze’ which never falls short of most genres, unfortunately.
But within this, we have to consider the key role of menstruation.
Think back to the opening scene of Carrie.
No, not the weird soapy boob bit, the bit where she starts bleeding from the vagina.
(Which BTW isnt how periods work in the shower.)
It is actually believed that the female monster can be traced to the bleeding vagina thing.
Basically, when a girl hits puberty, she immediately becomes a monstrous being, and follows another step to becoming the ‘female monster’.
Following on from this obsession with disgusting things and women, we come to the perverted mix of sex and violence that has contaminated the genre.
Take The Chase scene:
Think of the ripped clothes, the dim-yet-sultry lighting, and the dewy skin; it’s a live pop performance away from a Victoria’s Secret Runway!
Female victims are believed to be captured in this confused state of a sexualised body image and violence-infused distressed 5 times longer than their male-colleagues.
And once again we return to the Final Girl, and her survival of The Chase.
The final major trope we need to consider is that of the possessed young girl.
Affirming its role as a major horror theme, the innocent young girl is often laden with creepy vibes as the dangerous and demonic spirits take control of the events of the film through her.
Tumblr media
And it’s possibly because an all-powerful demon strikes such a contrast with the innocent young girl.
Consider one of the most famous horror films to grace the industry - The Exorcist.
The all-swearing, sexually-harassing, self-mutilating, all-knowing possessed Reagan challenges every component of being a ‘young girl’.
And this is the mirror image of the role of women within paranormal theories.
What’s the role of women in paranormal theories?
Theories regarding the paranormal obviously are entrenched in past beliefs regarding the societal roles of the sexes.
The supernatural was their science, and their religion their law!
But I’m not here to list all the supernatural theories that specify the differences between the genders.
I’m going to focus on one key piece of theory that echoes out into the horror movie industry:
And it’s how women and young girls in particular were deemed more likely to be possessed by spirits.
To skip out the confusing bits, this is what you have to know: as women and young girls are considered weaker, they are more ‘open’ to allowing in spirits and demons, and thus being possessed.
Obviously, this has made its way into pop culture.
But beyond the creepy possessed girl is the gender roles entrenched within the theory of possession.
If we compare European and African sentiments regarding possessed women, we can see that each specific country upholds a specific focus on women.
For example, several African countries focused upon how possessed women were more likely to leverage their condition in order to gain luxury items.
Some belief systems even classified that certain spirits could possess only women!
Clearly, women’s relationship with the paranormal has been painful to say the least.
And this is what makes The Nun the feminist icon that it is; it breaks down both the horror film-specific misogyny, and the misogyny inherent in paranormal theories.
Here’s how.
Why we should stan The Nun. Like, right now.
Upon The Nun’s release, it was branded a basic-bitch horror film.
It had endless jump-scares, a silly monster, and a forced plot used to duct-tape the films together. But underneath that surface we see a feminist icon disguised as a basic-bitch horror film.
Tumblr media
*I am about to discuss key plot points from The Nun - this is your spoiler alert!*
The film starts with the Vatican responding to claims of strange activity in an abbey (that just so happens to house the demonic Nun, Valak). A group of priests and other clergymen dictate the situation, and seemingly control the narrative.
And it’s this masculine and priest-based control that sticks to traditional films.
So, when the dream-team sent to investigate Valak is finalised, the move against the traditional tide surges.
We see the emergence of a new dynamic between the main characters – Frenchie, Sister Irene, and the Priest.
And it’s all down to the young soon-to-be-nun, Irene, who join forces with the priest to seek out the activity, and complete god’s mission on earth. Clearly – as she is a virgin and embodies the purity we expect from the trope – she is the Final Girl.
Tumblr media
But she doesn’t swan around being cute and dorky. She doesn’t even end the film with a succinct rescue!
She expresses her own agency by placing power in her faith, and in her desire to be a Nun, which is the thing that fulfils her identity as the Final Girl.
Indeed, it is her visions that lead them to victory over the demon, Valak.
Her own faith which celebrates her virginity is what saves them!
She also demonstrates her own agency by going against the church’s teaching on dinosaurs, and when they embark on the journey to the abbey and deal with the problems there, she isn’t just a sidekick.
Irene stands together with the priest, and brings her own set of knowledge to the table. Sure, the priest embodies his own set of wisdom from his previous experience of exorcisms and his position in the church.
But it’s the collaboration between the two - rather than a well-timed rescue - that really emphasises her power.
To complete this, upon meeting Frenchie – who immediately smells of a love interest the second we see the curly mop of hair and hear that accent – he makes a pass at Irene. He is quickly shot down, and from there we see no forced love story set to entice the female audience.
Sister Irene is a new wave of ideas and spirituality that manifest even more promisingly in her visions. She represents feminism - this is key to my next point.
Now, I’m gonna be honest – I get confused here.
A key premise of the film is that Irene has visions. And one of these is when her and a group of nuns are praying to seal Valak in the abbey, and keep the demon at bay.
I’m not sure if all of the nuns we see throughout the film that were at the Abbey were real or just a part of these visions.
But we do know that at least one of these nuns existed - Victoria.
She was the nun that committed suicide at the beginning of the film.
It is later confirmed in the film that Victoria committed suicide to prevent Valak from possessing her body and escaping out of the Abbey. And alongside this, we see the constant battle and bravery of the nuns in keeping Valak at bay!
Just before Victoria commits suicide, another nun takes on the challenge of facing Valak, and attempts to seal the demon using the relic that we later find out is the blood of Christ.
Consistently we see nuns be badass.
Tumblr media
We see meek and mild women, drenched in Final Girl tropes throwing off the shackles of patriarchy and reclaiming not just their right to their sexuality and womanhood, but also to defending their faith and what they believe in!
What defines them is no longer their bodies, it’s their beliefs.
This is made dually effective by the comparison between their consistent efforts to keep Valak at bay and the initial efforts of the crusaders. The nuns mirror the efforts of actual knights, and use their agency and power of being nuns to do so.
We then come to the Nun - Valak - herself.
The monster titling the film ties together the tropes of the female monster and the possessed girl, evoking the role of women in horror films for the last 100 years.
Nuns often fulfill a mothering image.
So – just like the innocent young girls that figures so prominently in films such as The Exorcist or The Exorcism of Emily Rose - the mocking of such an image by a demon incites the traditional approach we see in traditional horror films.
This is accentuated by her appearance.
Not far off the female monster, Valak is hag-like, stretching the perverted image of a woman by mocking a nun.
And Valak’s demise – which is brought about by the most badass scene ever – involves Irene spitting the blood of Christ in it’s face.
It is a true act of guts, grossness, and power.
It once again evokes the obsession with blood and the female monster splattered across previous horror films.
It truly brings together the main image I have concluded is core to this film:
The new, badass anti-patriarchy nuns who defy all Final Girl tropes and represent feminism defeat Valak who symbolises the past, misogynistic horror film tropes.
(Okay, fine, I doubt James Wan and the rest of the people working on this film had this message in mind.)
This is solidified by the final 2 scenes that end the flick:
We think that Valak is defeated and sealed away in the hellish crevice from whence it came.
But it is not.
Instead, it has possessed Frenchie, and this is who the Warrens find and exorcise. Footage of this then draws us back to the first film.
Tumblr media
See, what matters here is that a man is possessed.
From the dozens of films I have sat through, I can think of few that actually involve men being possessed.
And that’s why I fucking love this movie:
The film ends by overturning misogyny, and it’s this ground-breaking male possession that kickstarts the whole Conjuring series!
They may not have defeated Valak, but they defeated the misogyny inherent in horror films.
***
This film will go down in the reviews section as a trope-filled-jumpscare-ridden-basic-bible-bitch- film.
But it’ll go down in history as a feminist icon.
(Well, to me, anyway.)
Now it’s time to hear what you think:
Do you think The Nun is the feminist icon we all need?
And are there any other feminist horror films that we gotta know about?

btw got this ask on my classpecting blog (which is basically super dead because i rarely ever have the time/energy to get around to posting on it) but since its cb related and were on a spree here, i wanted to put some info here because well... you know me :3c
Tumblr media
yes i made the base of the characters personalities with their classpects in mind. obviously they still developed past that point (quite a few of the characters ended up completely different from how they were when i originally wrote them (rivian, crylus, vergas) because of the original writing being more based around classpects)
also ill write some real quick classpect descriptions for all of them under the cut since i dont want this post to get too long. i dont really want to say exactly why the puzzle pieces fit together because i think its fun to hear about other peoples opinions and also show w/o telling but i also really love classpecting and just some baselines doesnt really count as spoilers i dont think
rivian: witch of void, typically witches are quite a bit more fun and optimistic and generally just all around more Expressive than rivian is but like... youll understand when we get to it. witches are also just Incredibly Stubborn and i think thats quite a rivian thing.
witches have their aspects permeate throughout their life, and manipulate their aspects actively; they bend their aspects to their will, either by going totally against the notions and boundaries of their aspect or by simply modifying it to suit their needs. they thrive in environments where theyre able to go along with their own organized chaos and sense of structure.
void is about secrets, irrelevance, the enigmatic the mysterious et cetera. i think void is also about hidden interpersonal knowledge. its working on the sidelines and in the background. void players always seem to do the hard work, but are in someone/something elses shadow.
lyreni: sylph of time, honestly lyreni is still basically The Definition Of A Sylph. shes caring, very aware of her surroundings, acts according to what she deems is important, shes patient shes exacting... but she can be a bit meddle-y and pedantic and pushy due to her own anxieties.
sylphs analyze and heal their aspect. they find where people and where their session is lacking in it and essentially poke and prod and go about whichever way they possibly can to fix the lack of their aspect. theyre very opinionated about their aspect and what it means to them and what it should mean to others, and therefore sylphs need to learn to wield these ideas and use them to help others.
time is about time itself and the flow of it, death, progression, etc. not only that, but its about order and structure, singleminded focus, all of which selfimposed. time is more like a chain of events that needs to be kept in order than it is about inevitable events that are out of your control.
kapreo: rogue of rage, i usually say rogues follow two different archetypes (1. they either start with an abundance of their aspect and need to find a comfortable balance, or 2. they start with a percieved lack of their aspect and need to accept it into their life. either way, once both of them grow into those second stages they then redistribute their aspect to others). kapreo is a v2 rogue. rogues also as a whole are very friendly and generous, passionate, determined. though on the other hand, rogues can sometimes have the tendency to isolate themselves from others when they face stress and other struggles.
although both types of rogues have different types of deeprooted insecurity when it comes to their aspect, v2 rogues in particular lack in confidence comes from the fact that they could never handle their own aspect. therefore, they might have difficulties ever allowing themselves indulge in their aspect even when worse comes to worse. as stated above v2 rogues need to learn to accept that their aspect CAN be a part of who they are, and that they CAN handle it.
rage is about skepticality, defiance, boundaries, intense feelings, adrenaline, its putting your foot down and not taking anymore bullshit. its about putting yourself first. rage is also just a very like... sensory aspect. its the burning feeling in your chest that you get when youre in those states of passionate, unrestricted emotion.
sebran: knight of space, You Know Why Lets Be Real Do I Even Have To Say It. knights are boundlessly loyal, committed, reliable and nuturing people, however obviously they have a tendency towards the Emotional Constipation and are constantly concerned with their own sense of usefulness and competence.
knights essentially have to unlearn their obsessive facades and sort of... perfectionism when it comes to the way they come off and the way they interact with their aspect so that they can exploit and wield their aspect. basically knights have to put the metaphorical shield down and take out their sword instead. their facades usually tend to reflect their opposite aspect due to their insecurity with their actual aspect.
space is about creation, lack of bounds, infinite possibilities, the universe, isolation, loneliness. making something out of nothing. everything is at the universes whims, its unable to be contained. theres kind of a lack of any sort of structure or stability when it comes to space.
crylus: prince of doom, now hold your fucking horses before you say anything okay i know a lot of the times princes make everyone go “Oh god oh fuck” but i can promise you that crylus is a GOOD prince. princes can be incredibly capable and confident, goal oriented, helpful players. on the other hand though YES they can be a bit impulsive, arrogant. princes also tend to be a bit hypercritical as they hold people to high standards but they hold themselves to even higher ones (see dirk) a lot of the time.
princes ghost their opposite aspect and either just straight up destroy or destroy WITH their ACTUAL aspect, as they have strong internal brewing anger and hatred for their aspect and what it stands for. for the most part, princes need to learn how to channel this energy towards only flushing out the genuinely NEGATIVE parts of their aspect, as destruction sometimes isnt inherently a bad thing. in fact, sometimes tearing things down to make new ones is necessary and part of the process. but princes are REALLY high risk/high reward.
doom is about order thats outside of your control. its pre-established rules, guidelines, fate and futility and inevitability. similar to the death card in tarot though, even if doom is about the unavoidable end of a cycle, its also about the beginning of a new one.
vergas: bard of blood, i think its pretty easy to understand Why. originally he was going to be a bard of light which youll still see some remnants of that when his land comes up. bards are faithful in their beliefs and can be very committed to those ideas... but due to that faith they can be at their best just kind of annoying and stubborn to at their worst, antagonistic, unaccomodating, and dogmatic.
its kind of hard to explain, but bards ghost their opposite while destroying THROUGH their aspect. i usually say that to mean that bards use their own aspect as a sort of vessel of destruction. theyre also incredibly unpredictable players, as if their convictions ever waver theyre likely to go totally off the shits. i usually call that their Bardly Revelation aka when a bards world views and ideas about their aspect are finally challenged. a bards challenge then is to figure out how to take these challenges in stride and become open to new perspectives rather than letting it consume them whole. (hint: a lot of bards have a very hard time doing this. you can kind of figure what im getting at here).
blood is about bonds, strength, unity, responsibility, society, norms. i relate blood also to expectations, and relationships but more like… in the sense of working together as a team. commitment.
hopefully thats vague but informative enough for you to get why i picked their classpects out. as always im really excited to get deeper into the story and actually really Show like Why they fit rather than just give some overly wordy explanations

I have some more thoughts on this, hot take incoming. As always, this is not meant to take away your enjoyment of this flag or to say you are bad if you enjoy it.
So I didnt realize until recently that this is called the "Progressive Pride Flag." And like. I dont appreciate the implications of the name. Are other versions of the LGBTQ Pride Flag not progressive? If you dont like this flag, are you not progressive? I will talk more about this later, but suffice it to say that naming this flag the Progressive flag inherently creates these problems and retroactively casts other flags in a negative light that is, I think, undeserved. This flag is not more progressive than the LGBTQ Pride flag, even if it claims to be.
One other issue I have with it that I realized today: the black and brown stripes are meant to symbolize POC, right? In that case, its doing a pretty sucky job of that because it is only really representing black and brown folks, and ignoring all the many other POC groups out there. One could maybe argue that the black and brown stripes are the common symbol for POC, though I dont know if that is the case. If thats the argument they would use though, I stand by saying that its a poor symbol for the struggles of POC as a whole. Alternatively you could argue that these stripes are meant to only represent the struggles of Black and Brown people, and that sucks because it leaves out the struggles of other POC. So like. I dunno, I feel like either way it isnt actually inclusive, and does a bad job of highlighting POC. POC is not equivalent to black and brown. And I think that if you were to add other skin tones to the flag to represent other POC folks, you would immediately run into problems.
The real issue, for me, is that the Progressive flag is indicative of a problem with the left broadly, and that is an obsession with the aesthetics of progressivism as opposed to actual progressivism. Instead of focusing on the actual issues, leftists often virtue signal by adding more and more symbols in an attempt to appear more aesthetically inclusive, while doing little to actually make those spaces more inclusive, and when the initial symbols associated with it are fine. Instead of doing progressive things, you can signal how progressive you are with the correct flag.
For example, theres a new version of the progressive pride flag:
Tumblr media
Besides being an eyesore (two clashing shades of purple and yellow on the same flag), I know for a fact that even this flag will be replaced by another, even more "progressive" flag, filled with more symbols down the line. For example, this flag doesnt highlight the struggles of aroace folks, or nonbinary folks, or polyamorous folks, for instance. The issue though, is that the original six stripe LGBTQ flag already included all these groups. In adding more symbols meant to highlight specific groups, you leave out others, and retroactively imply that they werent included to begin with. And so on.When they were. The six stripe flag already represents the entire LGBTQ community. And these additions actually are less effective than the original.
Yes, the LGBTQ flag doesnt highlight specific groups within the LGBTQ community. Thats because it isnt supposed to. It is meant to be a focal point, a rallying cry that affirms that we are a community, first and foremost. There are times when we need to focus on individual groups who have been left out of discussions, such as how trans folks, intersex folks, and POC have been marginalized within the LGBTQ community. In my opinion, the LGBTQ flag is not the best place to have that conversation.
But besides being a less effective symbol for rallying around, this flag has one major problem. Since it is primarily about the aesthetic of progressivism as opposed to any actual progressive stance, it allows people to say shit like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is, of course, ridiculous. Im trans. Am I a transphobe because I hate this flag? No, obviously not. But that isnt because I am trans myself, thats because my reasons for not liking it arent transphobic. My identity is unimportant in determining the validity of this flag. Whereas this person is using their identity to shame others into agreeing with them. Because you do not like this flag, the logic goes, you are therefore racist and transphobic. Instead of bringing people together in solidarity, the progressive flag is used as a weapon to shame people for not being progressive in the aesthetically appropriate way, and to divide people.
And so, at the end of the day, I like the six color Pride flag. It is elegant, concise, and all encompassing, and emphasizes our unity in our differences. Which I think is a much better message than the one the progressive pride flag has.
Hot take: this flag
Tumblr media
Is better than this flag
Tumblr media
Thats for a couple reasons. First, the second one implies that POC and trans folks were left out of the first flag, which they werent. The rainbow flag is the LGBTQ+ flag, not just the gay flag. Second, Im not the biggest fan of how it looks. Ive seen people make it work sometimes, but I feel like the second flag is almost... Less inclusive than the first? Does that make sense? Like, implying that you need a separate flag for trans and POC folks, somehow implies that people didnt care before? Idk if Im explaining this well. Long story short, flag one good, flag two bad.

20 reasons why i think self dx is dangerous (as a nd/mentally ill person who’s spent a decade researching psych)
this was made purely to highlight the dangers of self diagnosis and the importance of necessary medical treatment
important disclaimers:
self dx =/= self advocacy, i.e. researching symptoms that you think you might have and trying to compare them to your own behavior without actually dxing yourself, regardless whether you are going to seek medical help. i believe this is extremely important: it can provide you w/a sense of validation to know you’re not alone, and it can put you in touch with your feelings a little more once you realize there actually may be something going on with you.
this post is not made for the intention of judging the character of people who self dx- there are many other posts out there about the ableism factors,  the trivialization of mental illness, or the way tumblr communities handle mental illness, etc.
tl;dr: .it’s not a fucking joke, please go get checked out by a professional medical practitioner, or don’t (but pls do), but whatever you do please don’t self dx
i often see the phrase “no one knows you better than yourself” as a justification for self dx and while you’re the only one who has access to your emotions and thoughts, no one is objective about their health, thoughts, and emotions. it’s impossible to truly dx yourself with any mental disorder because you subconsciously bring different types of cognitive biases into the process – this is why “medical intern syndrome” is such a prevalent phenomenon. you might know your emotions and thoughts, but this fails to address the fact that your perception of your feelings are grossly affected by your true mental illness (which says something ab your mental illness in and of itself).
not having access to mental health care doesn’t mean you should dx yourself with a mental illness, its not black or white. i often see teenagers saying they don’t want to get a prof dx because they don’t want their parents involved and i totally understand that, ableism is so terrible and i’ve experienced it for so long, trust me. luckily, there are ways to access mental health care at little to no cost, insurance or not, without getting your parents involved, but im not here to judge those who struggle w/resources to care.
untreated mental illness does not go away & a pro dx is crucial for access to treatment, disability benefits or other types of care or services. this could literally mean life or death. the prognoses for untreated mental illnesses are across the board terrible and may have devastating effects on your life: the longer they’re left untreated because you decided to not seek treatment, the more disabling they’re going to become. like one argument for self dx is that not everyone can access mental health care/resources…so instead they do something that literally prevents them from accessing resources….. uhhhhhh ??
you could put yourself in grave danger because symptoms of mental disorders may actually be life threatening symptoms of serious physical issues requiring medical care: thyroid issues, liver damage, vitamin deficiencies, blood/bone/brain infections, neurological disorders, many types of cancer, autoimmune disorders, brain tumors, epilepsy, diabetes, etc
you could put yourself in grave danger because you may be dealing with early symptoms of a more serious mental illness, such as schizophrenia, DID, etc. there are many early symptoms that mask other disorders. obv all mental illnesses are very serious but if you self dx with depression because you’re experiencing the “negative” symptoms of schizophrenia: lethargy, lack of affect, etc. you may not think a pro dx is necessary and early treatment is crucial for successful long term treatment of schizophrenia.
there is so much misinformation about what symptoms look & a psychiatrist is able to determine the degree and direction of the symptoms. there is a huge spectrum within each symptom and it honestly takes a trained medical professional to determine the severity. for ex: mood swings are common in both bipolar disorder & BPD but they look and feel totally different for each disorder. people justify this with: “well i fit the literal dsm diagnosis” except,,,, you probably dont. the dsm was NOT designed for people who are not medical professionals to interpret- there are nuances of specific symptoms that determine a dx
just because you experience several behaviors doesn’t necessarily mean you have a mental illness at all, diagnoses are based on the specific combination of symptoms. you may look at mood swings, anxiety and issues w/interpersonal relationships, and think you def have bpd; however it’s important to factor in that mood swings/anxiety are associated with hormones, eating patterns, stress, situational conditions etc but since you’re in the lens of looking for a diagnosis you might point to that and think it fits within that diagnostic criteria. im not saying you’re faking or don’t have a mental illness, im saying one or more of your symptoms may not be accounted for mental illness.
if you self dx and then don’t get treatment and/or medication you’re generally at a HIGH risk for self medication which may or may not include self-harm and substance abuse. since mental illnesses generally do not get better over time, so the longer you wait, the higher your chances of engaging in self destructive behaviors. there are some mental disorders that are literally inherent chemical imbalances that can really only be treated with medication, no matter how much self care you engage in.
i often see the argument that “psychiatrists just go down a checklist to diagnose you and that’s it!”, as well as, “My psychiatrist googled ‘x disorder quiz’ and printed the first one that came up!! i was in and out in five minutes!!!” as justifications for self dx: like either your psychiatrist needs to get their fucking license revoked or that’s just not true. the testing process generally takes an hour and involves diff types of observations of behavior as well as a very long list of questions- it’s not a fucking list printed from the internet from a random site.
additionally i see, “psychiatrists make mistakes too!!” right, true but the chances of a psychiatrist making a mistake vs the chances of you making a mistake are very slim in relation to each other due to the reasons listed here, i.e. decades of research on a phd level
just because some people go to the psychiatrist post-self dx and learn they were correct about their self dx doesnt mean that it applies to everyone and REGARDLESS it doesnt mean you shouldnt get professionally diagnosed anyway. these are a few experiences out of a million. it literally doesn’t mean that you are definitely right in yours.
quizzes taken on the internet aren’t fucking diagnosis (and neither is 6 months of research)??? like i don’t care if you’ve taken ten of them. if they’re designed with the proper controls they could def help SCREEN for mental illness symptoms, but even then it requires a lot of second party consulting, it’s something you’re literally not qualified for, for the reasons listed above.. if i took diff quizzes or tried to research my symptoms i could def try and self dx with so many diff disorders that aren’t even comorbid. they need to be interpreted by a medical professional and are usually designed to help guide ppl towards treatment
“all psychiatrists are neurotypical and dont understand my mental illness!” how do you know they’re neurotypical? they wouldn’t tell you even if they were??? also what does being neurotypical have to do with their ability to correctly do their job???? would you expect an oncologist to have gone through cancer in order to do their job?
the concept of self fulfilling prophesy is hard at work with self diagnosis; if you attach a label of depression to yourself it’s going to influence your behavior and self perception whether or not you’re aware of it. you might end up seriously damaging yourself because youre trying to fit the diagnosis. when i obsessively tell myself i feel very depressed, after awhile i actually prevent myself from feeling better because i keep telling myself i’m depressed, for example.
one phrase i see a lot: “well people self dx with a cold, why is this any different?” well, for one thing, the physical ramifications of a cold and a chronic mental illness ie a literal chemical imbalance in your brain are miles apart. they’re not even medically comparable in terms of immediate and long-term effects. additionally, it really highlights the fact that many people treat mental illness as a personalized experience whereas they treat their physical health w/objective opinions from medical professionals. this analogy is not only inaccurate but it’s dangerous as fuck.
people might not be aware symptoms they’re experiencing are abnormal because that’s their normal state based on their actual mental illnesses. for ex someone who suffers from an anxiety dx might just be used to adapting to it their whole life when they actually have a serious disorder and not even think about getting help for it. your baseline cannot be assessed objectively.
sometimes the self dx community is enabling in a bad way- the lack of treatment for disorders real or otherwise make them more susceptible to encouraging/justIfying unhealthy coping habits. its kind of like the blind leading the blind. like it’s just not a good idea.
just because it might take a couple diff psychiatrists to get an accurate diagnosis isnt a good justification for self dx. this can be due to a million different reasons- maybe you were diff ages when you saw each one, maybe you were exhibiting signs of something else at the time- i was originally diagnosed with depression before bipolar disorder because my mental health hadn’t stabilized so my mania wasn’t present.
using the excuse of “ask someone close to you what they think about you possibly having [x] dx” as a legitimate step towards self diagnosis is as bad as saying you don’t have a personal bias… like the answer from your friend/family member is based on so many factors: the nature of the relationship, how honest the person is, their emotional state at the time, their own ability to analyze the people around them, how aware of psychological symptoms they are, their bias towards mental illness, the way the symptom description is presented,   the setting the discussion took place, etc etc
last but not least, i see the phrase: “well mental illness didn’t suddenly appear as soon as i got a diagnosis!” obviously it was always there but you may have mislabeled it before your diagnosis if you self dx’d first, thats it. no one is pretending mental illnesses suddenly appear when a professional diagnosis is assigned
your best “research” on the internet is not equal to ten years of medical school, its just not, and it’s concerning to me that self diagnosis is such a prevalent trend on here. please seek treatment, even if it’s in the form of your high school or college counseling center; the links i’ve provided in number 3 may be helpful in locating mental health care, whether it’s a community mental health care center, or a therapist close to you who offers reduced cost treatment.
you owe it to yourself, it’s 10000% worth it.

get ready to rrrrrumble
jesus christ this is a long ass submission so uh puts it in a read more also puts my txt in bold so its easier to read 👍
Right, so I’ve just read everything that happened in the last few asks you got and I’m just gonna sit down and tell you this right now. You better strap the fuck in because this is long and if you’re not gonna read it, shame on you, because all of this is specifically about YOU and the problems people have with you (the people Blu mentioned). First off, I’m not Blu, so don’t go and start calling him names in your server because you’re finally, FINALLY, being called out on all the bullshit you do. I used to be your friend, I left on semi-good terms, and this entire thing is going to explain WHY I left + why you need to square the fuck up.
sounds like fun whoever u are
You need to get your shit together and seriously change yourself, but of course you’re not gonna do that, because you’re an incompetent piece of shit who has your head so far up your ass you can’t see all the things you do wrong. You act like you’re the person who suffers the most, and that anytime anyone is rude to you it’s THEIR fault, not the fact that you did something terrible to someone or that you started some drama. I’ve been fed up with this shit for months, and have been hesitant to say anything directly to your face, because you don’t even know me that well and we hardly talked. We did interact a few times, but those few times were absolute hell to me, because I must have literally retracted some kind of disease just from being near you. You are the fucking EMBODIMENT of tumblrina, and it’s so fucking sad because you weren’t like this before (based on what a few others have told me).
the use of tumblrina here is jus makin me laugh ur a funny guy buddy but i feel like my past self is worse thn my current self like past me participated in cringe culture so like ew
The way you talk? Absolutely fucking horrid. Sit the fuck up and talk like a normal goddamn human being. I’m here to talk to you, not to decipher some 57 commas and abhorrid shortening of words. Jesus fucking Christ Sombre, I can understand Internet slang and cutting some words up, but you fucking butcher the English language so bad it literally sounds like a toddler having a stroke while mashing at their keyboard. It’s “that” not “tht”, it’s “thing” not “thng”, it’s “something” not “smth”, and for GOD FUCKING SAKES IT’S “THE” NOT “TH”. ARE YOU LITERALLY SO FUCKING LAZY THAT YOU CAN’T EVEN TYPE “THE”, A THREE LETTER WORD. I don’t give a shit if you’re talking like this to sound like an anxious uwu tumblr piece of SHIT, it sounds fucking IDIOTIC and it’s an ABSO-FUCKING-LUTE PAIN TO READ.
language is fake and is mostly just sounds we give meaning, im very sorry if you have trouble reading the way i type and id be more than happy to try and not speak to you like i usually do to everyone else if you just asked politely and talked it out with me (tho the idiotic part is accurate im not very smart lmao)
SPEAKING OF YOUR TUMBLR, LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR UPSET.TXT TAG. If you think anyone is gonna pity you, SPOILER ALERT! THEY’RE FUCKING NOT. Unless they’re your shitty “friends”, NOBODY fucking gives a shit, alrighty? Speaking from my perspective and a few others, nobody’s gonna see this venting on their dashboard and give two shits. Unless they’re your mutuals, they won’t care and it just leaves a bad impression. It’s pathetic how when ANYTHING negative happens to you, you decide to take to Tumblr to boo hoo crypost about it. You wanna vent? You wanna cry yourself to sleep? Cool, talk about it on your server, NOT FUCKING TUMBLR, WHERE LITERALLY ANYONE CAN SEE IT. This is just like how Facebook used to be, you see these posts of people posting personal shit and getting bit in the ass for it later, YEAH WELL THAT’S WHAT’S HAPPENING TO YOU RIGHT NOW BUDDY. DON’T LIKE IT? DON’T FUCKING VENT ON TUMBLR.
i rarely vent on here dude like?? do you see the time gaps between the posts in my vent tag? its also my blog so i can post whatever i like as long as im not hurting anyone yo, plus the point of venting for me at least isnt to like get attention or sympathy its to let off some steam not to mention most to all of my vent posts are vague as hell so like…. why do you even care though?? if i get bit in the ass then thats my problem not yours
Right, so let’s talk about your “im gay” tag too! You identify as male, correct? That’s cool! Congrats. But you’re not gay if you clearly show an interest in girls. Doesn’t matter if they’re fictional or not. Your “im gay” tag is filled with girls (Bismuth, some anime girl, pinup girls). NEWSFLASH ASSHOLE! You’re male, those are females! Opposite genders! That means you’re NOT GAY! WOAAAAAH! So who are you to be reblogging and posting all this shit about how hetero people are the devil, hetero people are the worst wah wah, when you yourself identify as a guy and clearly seem to be interested in girls, even if just a little?
dude i used to identify as nonbinary i only recently started identifying as male, hell i used to identify as female ages back so like? the posts in that tag are most to all old and i do realize my attraction to girls isnt gay, hence why ive only been referring to my attraction to dudes as me being gay post-male identification i guess
Speaking of all the heterophobic shit you reblog, have you not considered it could make some of your followers feel absolutely terrible? I’m bi myself, I like both guys and girls, but holy FUCK when I see that shit on your blog it makes me feel guilty for liking guys at all! Is that how you want people to feel? Whether they’re pan, bi, or straight, that shit’s literally so fucking damaging and it sure as hell hurts to see! And don’t throw that “some of those posts are jokes” bullshit at me, because guess the fuck what! They may be jokes to people who aren’t hetero, but they sure as hell don’t seem like jokes to those who are! How would you feel if I made a joke that was even SLIGHTLY negative towards homosexuals? Wait, no, don’t answer that, because I already know how you’d feel. You’d get pissy, you’d stomp your little baby feet over to Tumblr, and then crypost about it, saying you’re facing homophobia and being harassed blah blah blah.
HETEROPHOBIC IM LAUGHING…. buddy…. pal…. heterophobia is fake and im very sorry if those post make you feel bad as a bisexual person (im also bi so) but heterophobia isnt actually a thing, comparing jokes directed at straight people to lgbtphobia is inherently lgbtphobic as it compares little jokes most to all directed at bigoted/ignorant straights to something that can often result in the actual literal death of hundreds of people for their gender/orientation- that doesnt happen to straight people dude
Also: you don’t have autism. Were you officially diagnosed? Because I’m gonna be real fuckin’ honest, it doesn’t sound like you have autism. You sure have something, hoh yeah, but it’s sure as hell not autism. You put your “autism” up on a pedestal and act like it’s one of the only things about you, like no hunty, your mental illness doesn’t define you. Nobody gives a shit, okay? Your mental illness isn’t an excuse to act like a literal fuckface, it’s not an excuse to treat people like shit, and it sure as hell isn’t an excuse to blame everything on others and make yourself out to be the good guy because “my autism made me anxious or forget things ;w;”. This is the exact kind of tumblrina thing I’m talking about, people on this goddamn website act like their mental illness is the only quality about them and that not being neurotypical makes them special. NEWS-FUCKIN-FLASH, it doesn’t. It really doesn’t. You don’t see me using my mental illness as an excuse for my actions, because I actually step the fuck up and take responsibility for shit I’ve caused. My mental illness does not define me. There’s more to me than that. You need to realize that your fake-ass autism isn’t an excuse for you to be a fucking asshole to the people around you, and that your actions do have consequences. Stop blaming others for shit you’ve caused, stop calling people jackasses when it’s YOU who’s insulting people and twisting the truth, and for the love of God tell your white knights of friends to shut the FUCK up if they don’t know all the details of a situation.
i was technically diagnosed albeit in a nontraditional fashion (a psych at our middleschool was the one who diagnosed me) and i have never defined myself solely by my autism nor have i used it as an excuse for my fuck ups, ive literally apologized and stopped doing the things i did since the blu incident, i recognize i fucked up there and i apologized and i havent done the whole lying out of anxiety thing since, also my white knights of friends??? YOURE the one coming into MY inbox to tell me how shit i am after i blocked blu i literally just want this to be over leave me alone dude
Alright, so now that we’re done talking about YOU, let’s talk about your fandoms. You like Osomatsu-San. Okay, that’s fine. What’s not fine is how FUCKING obsessive you are about it. There’s nothing wrong with liking something and being attached to characters, making art of it, having a blog, reblogging it, talking about it, that’s okay. That’s okay! But you? You fucking hold the characters so close and act like they’re your own characters. You get upset when something doesn’t go your way in the show. This was evidenced by how many times you’ve complained about episodes (guess where? upset.txt) after they’ve come out. That anon about the straight joke? You got so heated over that, didn’t you? Saying Chibita was “out of character”, BITCH, what do you fucking know? He’s not your goddamn character! The writers will write him however the fuck they want. It’s THEIR fucking show, it’s THEIR fucking characters, and it’s THEIR decision of who does what and who acts like what. There’s a VERY thick line between canon and fanon, and you can’t seem to distinguish that AT ALL. You merge your shitty headcanons with the canon universe, and when something doesn’t go your way, you FREAK THE FUCK OUT and go crying about it in your server or on your tags.
youre blowing that ONE FUCKING POST so out of proportion ive never complained abt ososan in upset.txt outside of MAYBE episode 4 and that would be because of the NONCONSENSUAL SEX SCENE i KNOW my headcanons arent canon i KNOW that the chibita/snowtoko complaint was MINOR and i fucking LIKED THAT EPISODE A LOT!! i didnt cry i just felt that based on how the staff have characterized chibita up until that point it was a little jarring to see him react like he did THAT IS ALL! what the fuck!! how would you even know what i talk about in my servers!! youre obviously misinformed my guy!!!
Lemme tell you something, Sombre: Karabita isn’t canon. OH SHIT! I SAID IT BOYS! THAT’S A FUCKING CURSE ISN’T IT!! No, sorry, sit the fuck down and suck those tears up, because it’s true. It’s not canon. It isn’t. You grasp at straws to say it is, but it isn’t. Chibita wore somehing blue? Oh shit, it’s Karamatsu! He’s clearly in love with him! No, sorry honey, that’s not how it works. Of course Chibita would feel pity on him and let him stay with him (ep 24), because who wouldn’t? That doesn’t mean they’re dating. Karamatsu may be the most bisexual person ever, but he sure as hell isn’t dating Chibita (at least, not canonly). Speaking of Chibita, you need to stop acting like any other Matsu x Chibita ship is literal hell. They’re not. There are some decent ones out there, and although they’re rarepairs by now, they’re a lot better quality than the Karabita bullshit you spew out.
me saying karabita is canon is a joke, and my disdain for non karabita matsubita ships is based half in coping reasons and half in chibita has literally no chemistry with the other matsus and seems to not like any of the other bros at all whereas hes actually shown some level of tolerance or interest in karamatsu
While we’re on the subject of non-canon ships, Atsutodo isn’t canon either. Fuck’s sake, they were on screen together for 10 damn seconds. Yes, I’m aware there’s card art of Atsushi and Todomatsu having a meal together, but they’re very clearly not dating if Todomatsu is still going out with girls and holding their hands etc. Oh, speaking of Todomatsu: Your trans hc of him? Generic as fuck. He’s not trans. Call me a transphobe, I don’t give a shit, but he’s not trans. Look at the -kun animes. He’s a guy. Where in his life would he have magically been a girl and then go right back to a guy? The time span between a 12 year old and a 21 year old isn’t long enough to allow you time to transition. In that day and age, it wasn’t even acceptable to be transgender. So none of the Matsus are trans, get that out of your head. Get those “autism hcs” out of your head too, because I KNOW you hc Kara and Jyushi as autistic (and I’m aware you used to headcanon Ichimatsu as autistic too, but we’ll get to that later).
i know atsutodo isnt canon i never said it was all the “x ship is canon” jokes are about karabita and theyre jokes dude, i just think atsutodo would be cute. why the fuck do you even care about my trans hcs?? theyre HEADCANONS they dont HURT ANYONE and like dude there are trans children out there….. stop being a fuckface about simple headcanons what the fuck.
Lemme tell ya something. Karamatsu sure as hell isn’t autistic. Literally the only reason you headcanon him as such is because you yourself claim to be autistic and because “uwu he’s m fav,,,, i relate to him,,,”. Also, I realize “jyushi is autistic xD” headcanons are common, but JESUS FUCK it’s time for them to die. Jyushimatsu is just bizarre in and out, it’s his personality and his way of life. If you’re gonna hc him as autistic for his personality, you’re obviously ignoring his physical abilities. What about that time he cloned himself? Grew different sizes? What about how he seemingly has no bones (tentacle arms)? But oh, let’s ignore that, because he’s always got a smile on his face and he has a childish personality so DURR HE’S OBVIOUSLY AUTISTIC. Also, you used to headcanon Ichimatsu as autistic, but as soon as you started hating him you threw that headcanon out the window. This is PROOF you only headcanon your favorite characters as autistic, and that’s some of the STUPIDEST shit ever.
literally just let people headcanon what they want if it doesnt hurt anyone, im sure in canon theyre not autistic but this is HEADCANON. and is this also to imply that just because a character can do bizarre thing with theyre body they cant also be autistic?? what the fuck does that have to do with anything??? and i didnt throw my autistic ichi hc out the window because “i hate him” i dont even hate him im indifferent to him i hate his fanon incarnation because its stupidly out of character and one note, i also didnt even drop the autism hc for him i feel like he definitely 100% could be autistic but i just dont think about it as much because i think about other characters more than i think about him
Oh yeah, I’d love to hear why you hate Ichimatsu so much? Shut up, I know it’s because “hhhh he abuses kara” but that’s fucking wrong. Listen, Ichimatsu isn’t exactly my favorite either but at least I don’t make him out to be a fucking asshole to Karamatsu. All of the brothers have treated Karamatsu like shit at one point or another. They’ve thrown things at him, ditched him, called him names, ignored him, it’s a fucking trope in the anime that Karamatsu was the one to get hurt. Sure, season 2 has kinda turned that around, but the whole “Ichimatsu is bitter to Karamatsu” thing is the dynamic between them. They DO have moments where they’re not onto each other, though. See how Ichimatsu followed Karamatsu into the woods? Remember the episode where they switched clothes? They didn’t kill each other neither of those times, did they? And yes, I’m aware Ichimatsu has hurt Karamatsu at times (the bazooka, I think smacking?) but he doesn’t LITERALLY ABUSE HIM. You don’t see him kicking him around, PUNCHING HIM, HITTING HIM, EVERY SECOND OF HIS LIFE. Yes, he calls him names. Yes, he’s threatened to hurt him (“I’ll kill you, Shittymatsu.”) but he’s been stopped or HAS stopped every time. If he really was so intent on hurting Karamatsu, don’t you think he wouldn’t ignore his brothers and hurt Karamatsu anyway? But no, he didn’t, and he stopped each time he grabbed Kara. That’s because the entire “Ichimatsu despises Karamatsu” thing is a GAG in the show. It’s meant to be funny. It’s not meant for your negative ass to label it as abuse and then boohoo about it every time Ichimatsu is mentioned. That’s not a valid reason to hate a character, hell, even Karamatsu’s seiyuu said in a Doramatsu CD that Karamatsu was just comic relief. And if you’re gonna look for a reason why Ichimatsu dislikes Karamatsu, consider the hinted and well-supported reason: Ichimatsu “hates” Karamatsu because of how confident he is and how he can always be himself. Ichi is insecure. Ichi is antisocial. Kara, on the other hand, can express himself and show how “cool” he is. Consider that Ichimatsu wants to be more like him, hence why he said he’s the “number one Karamatsu boy” in that one episode.
okay this is just ridiculous i DONT HATE ICHIMATSU and i KNOW its a GAG, i KNOW they get along sometimes i KNOW all the brothers have shat on kara I KNOW THIS abuse takes many forms though and in a more serious anime the way the bros treat kara would probably be depicted as abusive, but it isnt a serious anime so its a gag and i understand that thats FINE, did you even watch the ichimatsu incident? ichimatsu got plenty fucking pissed off at karamatsu and stuff and the “number one karamatsu boy” nonsense was him being concerned about how karamatsu might think of him as such not him calling himself a karamatsu boy, and yes i know the whole ichi wants to be cool and confident like kara thing i understand that but even so that wouldnt logically excuse his bitterness toward kara but again, its a gag anime so its whatever, youre also ignoring the facet of his disdain towards kara being in part because kara is also vain and ichi finds this annoying and thinks kara is fake as hell because of it there was something in i think a magazine where the bros are all asked what they think of eachother i think and i THINK ichi said something along the lines of him not liking kara because he fakes being nice for the sake of his own ego or something (which is likely ichi just having a negative image of kara rather than that actually being the case because i dont think karas that smart but who knows i dont!!) so like y’know
In conclusion, I would like to say you need to shut the fuck up and chill with your fandoms and headcanons, realize headcanons aren’t canon, and also get your head out of your ass. You’ve done so many wrong things and need to stop blaming them on others. You’ve lied, insulted, and put the blame on so many of your old friends, you’ve avoided people who you deem “toxic” (simply because they have different opinions than you), you think people can’t form their own opinions, and you don’t back up your friends when they’re getting shittalked. You act like an assoholic brat and cannot, for the life of you, open up your eyes and see this. You’re lucky the dicktwats on your server are there for you, because if they weren’t, you’d be all alone, and honestly? That seems pretty good at this point. Fits you perfectly.
i know headcanons arent canon, i know ive lied (though ive really only insulted people who were dicks to my friends and maybe blu which probably not a good thing but i mean hes also insulted me so?? even i guess??) and i regret that, im more honest now and try my best to show kindness to people who have done me and my friends no wrong, ive only ever put blame on blu i literally dont blame anyone else for anything, i dont avoid people i deem “toxic” i avoid people i dont get along with because if i dont get along with them then theres no reason to talk to them im gonna let them live their lives, of course i think people can form their own opinions what on earth are you talking about???? when did i not back up a friend when they got shit talked?? i dont remember that but id like to deeply apologize if i ever did, unless youre talking about when someone in my server insults blu over ykno… him not leaving me alone and harassing me when ive done nothing but mind my own business since the incident, then while it was kind of uncomfortable for me because i felt it was the wrong thing to do i couldnt exactly muster the words to protest it. im very sorry you feel that way im always trying to improve and i like to think that im making some level of progress in being more sensitive and kind to those around me. but also dont insult my friends they didnt do shit weve been minding our own goddamn business this entire time blu is the one who started it back up again.
Now, go back to crying in your server and soaking in self-deprication, fuckass.
yknow i get the feeling i know who this is but i dont want to jump to any conclusions so, uh, okay! see ya my dude :0c

(post from 2020) who wants some fucked up reverse fears
ft contributions from @\white-rabbit-project, @\archival-assistant, and @\arklie it’s long as fuck
The Beholding -> The Blinded, I Know That I Know Nothing, Blissful Ignorance
While associated with blindness, rather than just becoming a 1:1 duplicate of The Dark, it focuses more on The Eye’s whole knowledge thing. Being unable to get info and being left unaware and confused and lost. You don’t understand and you can’t understand. The Blinded is both associated with being unable to get info from or understand anything AND intentionally turning away from it, hence the name.
The Dark -> The Radiant
Light to the point of blinding, it overlaps a bit with The Blinded’s associations but leans more into following without thought and becoming a cog in a metaphorical machine, and being so blinded by something you cant possibly see around it. Very prone to having cults centered around it form.
The Vast -> The Anchored, Restriction
Not quite Buried, but being trapped is definitely a theme, albeit not in a claustrophobic way. You’re stuck somewhere that you cant get away from and you just might never leave! The feeling of being trapped somewhere because you just can’t go anywhere regardless if anything truly stopping you. Trade out The Buried’s crushing themes with the feeling of being bound to the earth rather than buried below it.
Tumblr media
The Spiral -> The Monotony, Ad Nauseam
You’re far too aware of what’s around you and it’s boring you to death. Heavy association with repetition and cousin to The Anchored. Imagine instead of an unpredictable labyrinth, you’re trapped in some kind of path that you cant leave, and it just loops back around over and over and you pass the same things over and over ad infinitum. One manifestation is likely still doors, maybe, but also it manifests as things like alleyways, and if you go through ‘em, well you’re in for a lot of the same stuff over and over and over and over, most likely with the exception of no exit until it decides ok fuck you. Hotel hallways get affected a lot.
The End -> The Genesis, The Beginning, Creation
creation in a negative light, things are brought into the world, one way or another, but it’s either not enough, and leads to obsession, or it’s too much, and you hate it so, so much. You cant bear it, creation isn’t inherently good and may very well lead to worse things, and it’s compounded by how it still relates to canon end in that creation is still balanced out by destruction. life always comes to an end, but this time, you’re on the opposite end of the process
The Desolation -> The Wasting, The Cold Embrace, Frostbite
still desolation, but we’re cold now. freezing is the central theme of this one, frostbite contrasting with charring. it’s still about fear, pain, and loss, but it’s slow, it creeps up on you, compounds itself until it all comes crashing down and you’re left out in the cold. no longer all the worst parts of fire, it’s now the dead of winter, when everything’s been snuffed out and frozen over
The Slaughter -> The Callous
still keeps the idea of unpredictable violence, but now with motive. it’s premeditated, and when it isnt, it still wont always be immediately visible on the outside, it’s behind the scenes, whether metaphorically or actually being covered up. reverse slaughter is arguably worse than canon, being strongly associated with abuse of all different kinds, whether it be in a relationship, or something more like patient abuse, switching out the spontaneous hit and run violence with more of a long con tl;dr fuck the callous
The Buried -> The Unrest, Ceaseless Journey
The Web ->  The Volatile, It’s Out Of Your Hands, Butterfly Effect, Unforseen Circumstances,
The Corruption ->  The White Room,
The Stranger -> The Fallacy, Do I Know You?, Déjà vu, Haze
Familiar made unfamiliar turned inwards and fucking with your memory. You’ve been here before haven’t you? You don’t remember, you can’t remember. You know things that you shouldn’t and are forgetting things you should know. Commonly associated with dreams and dreamlike states, and loss of self
The Hunt -> The Hollow, Apathy
Centered around aimlessness to contrast the drive The Hunt has, The Hollow is all about not having a purpose, and wandering from place to place aimlessly. While The Unrest is more driven, being forced to keep moving for one reason or another, The Hollow tends to be more drifting. The Hunt is tied to obsession and a clear goal, so The Hollow is the direct opposite
The Flesh -> The Machine
Rather than being a fear born from meat animals, it stems from the fear of technological advancement, the feeling of replaceability, and uncertainty in the future and in the security of the tech we have now. Victims tend to be older adults, while avatars typically have a common theme of being transhumanists, embracing it rather than rejecting it.
The Lonely -> fuck

persona verse rambles///
morgana and karters magicae, nox nugget, would be such little bastards together. but also probably a powerhouse??? and karter and akira are in for it. but its also adorable thinking about how they would get along.
akira would love nox nugget bc oh sicK thats a cat straight out of the VOID and it doesnT abide to this dimENSION AND THATS RAD. nox can communicate with karter telepathically, and once akira has maxed out his bond with karter, (also bc of his weird powers as a wildcard) nox can talk to him too. its a little different than how karter talks to him. its through mental suggestion. like impulsive thought. just a nagging, vague little voice of notion. also through Vibe and body language more than anything.
and karter would adore morgana, and spoil him, much to akiras chagrin. but karter will also not put up with any of morganas whining. half the time, karter treats him like he treats all his regular old foster cats. cooing and baby talking him and playing with him. and it makes morgana so mad. (bc half the time he really actually loves the attention. he loves,, being loved and appreciated) karter really just cant help it. all cats are baby.
also every time morgana is mean to ryuji, karter picks him up and dangles him and says things like "stinky boy. brat cat. bastard man. grumpy butt. dont be mean. i love you. " and gives him a kiss on his lil baby cat head and morgana just Dies
as for the relationship of the two “Cats” morgana is literally made out of human hope, and nox, while hes not a demon, hes not unlike one. nox’s powers can bring the opposite to human beings if he so wills it. negative feelings. but he doesnt. not intentionally anyway. thats not what hes about. but would be able to tell that morgana is literally made of the light of human hope. and its,,, so alluring to him.
hed call morgana hope, or hope being and morgana is like ????????? bc what is this things DEal its ominouS and i dONT truST LIKE THAT. where nox is like :3 i love you. youre so bright and shiny and everything important. youre something my partner has had little of throughout his life and that only serves to raise your importance. id go against my contract with karter to protect you. even i, a being of darkness, am in your hands. you are the light that casts my shadow. you precious, beautifully dangerous thing.
the funny thing about nox is that he is a preternatural entity, a being born of the darkness that brought eldritch horrorterrors to life, that is perfectly okay with being Baby Cat, unlike morgana. he is also a trickster, like akira. a complete little bastard. he will literally manipulate humans into what he wants by voiding out their minds. but 8/10 times its all harmless. he will wholeheartedly try to bend others to his will just so they will not stop giving him attention. but he doesnt do it often, because a part of their deal was that nox wouldnt use their void-out power unless it was a life or death situation (due to some trauma on karters end)
nugget also, isnt unlike a persona, in a sense that he, in a way, reflects a part of karter that he had to repress or has trouble being in touch with. just,,, all his feelings of wanting and needing love and not being able to get or even accept it because of the state of his circumstances. nugget is confident and powerful and in control. and hes cute and he can look as harmless as he wants. people will just be like. oh what a cute cat! i want 20.
where karter,,, is just. a mess. hes cocky and aggressive to mask how insecure and afraid he is. he was deceived by his upbringing into believing he is inherently Bad and Unlovable
nox: i exist, therefore i deserve all the love. im a powerful being and capable of anything :3 karter: i exist, and its a waste. i am never going to be good enough to make it in this world.
karter bonding with Nox is really is like,, karter finding himself again.
karters rebellion is him literally choosing to love himself and take control in a world that has convinced him hes helpless and a scourge. and also saying FUCK YOU DAD. slick has done nothing but hold karter under his thumb and only help to convince his son he is unsafe and without strength to survive. the “all your power comes from me” attitude (due to the nature of karters hereditary magic) but there is a price to pay for a legacy. slick has to lose all his power for karter to succeed him. and for the longest time, karter lived in such fear that even when he and his father were nearly matched in power, he was in no better position than he was as a young child.
he never dared to challenge his father. not until after nox bonded with him.
karter would need to face that part of himself. the shadow of himself filling his fathers shoes in every way, looming over him. of what will become of him if he doesnt Take What Belongs to him by force and makes his own way and his own justice. because the only person he could have trusted or relied on to give him what he needs is so distorted and obsessed with the idea that he needs to be Strong enough to survive and protect whats important. at the cost of,,, so much of his sons wellbeing, and his own.
