I like when people make the most of a small house and these owners did their best to make this little 1946 Cape in Cleveland, OH, colorful and interesting. 3bds, 2ba, 1,131 sq ft, $285,089. (One of my favorite series of children's books to read in story time is the classic "The Stupids," by Harry Allard. The Stupid family lives in Cleveland and the funniest book is "The Stupids Die." Somehow, the Stupid family thinks they died and marvel at how Heaven looks just like Cleveland. Their dog is smart, he always comes to their rescue.)
Enter directly into the living room. The floor is perfect and look at how neatly they did the designs on the walls and ceiling. I would remove the curtains, though
Cute 3pc. bath in the hall.
Not sure which bedroom is the primary. This one is smallish and has mirrored walls to give the illusion of more space.
This bedroom looks larger. There they go again, people removing the closet doors. Don't care too much for the wallpaper.
Pink & green kitchen. Nice white Shaker cabinets, but who laid the floor? Is it supposed to be in square sheets like that? I don't know why they didn't cover the whole backsplash with tile, either. Sliders open to a nice deck, though.
The large finished attic is the 3rd bd. I don't know if someone painted the clouds or if it's wallpaper, but they're beautifully done.
Finished basement. There's a bedroom area down here in the corner.
And, this is where the 2nd bath is located.
The laundry room has a nice new aluminum sink.
Very large covered deck on the back of the house.
Plus a patio with a little garden.
Interesting yard with a trampoline that looks like it conveys.
This yard could be lovely.
Path to a very large driveway and 3 car garage, plus a nice shed. I bet a pool would fit in the back yard. I think that this house is a good value for the price. 9,374 sq ft lot

Horror | 0.5
She couldn't breathe. It was the first thing her mind registered as she came to consciousness. Her body felt lethargic and stiff limbed from being an awkward positioning for who knows how long. She blinked away the crusty edges of her eyes, feeling grains of dirt shift down in her hair and grimy clothes uncomfortably rubbing against her damp skin.
'It's cold.' She thought.
Encasing in strong sap like chrysalis made from secreted goop those things produce after ingesting organic materials, more preferably human remains, stuck to her body and other harvested corpses hung from the ceiling like a meat packing plant. She could literally taste the metallic iron of the rotten old blood.
'So disgusting.'
The female gripped the edge of her confining hardened goop, muscles in her arms and back burned like summer's sunrays. After several attempts she broke out, peeling away her hair and clothes from the other corpses, strings of undried fluids dripped down to the semi slippery tiled floors. She didn't have much energy to dwell on the fact she was absolutely filthy and in dire need of several washes.
'Vacations are overrat- shoot my nail is broken.'
She fleeting noticed as she tiptoed around the area, tentatively using her hands to feel around the place that is nearly pitch black. A very faint breeze of a broken air conditioning until brushed over her skin, briefly making her heart and spine become filled with ice. Swallowing back her nerves and increasingly permanent fear of the dark, the female noticed a dimly flickering light in the room across the hallway and swinging set of double doors separating the kitchen and dining area of the restaurant.
Just as she took a step in the direction of the light, she sensed it before it could she herself processed the swift action of jumping over the long industrial sized preparation table and crouching so low behind it, she might've been on all fours.
The trilling hallow clicks followed up by a rumbling growl and nearly nonaudible footfalls made the tiniest cracking noises as it's weight weakened the secreted hard goop on the floors.
She didn't dare breathe in it's looming presence. Taking small mercies and a vague sense of comfort in the fact most of the equipment here was aluminum or having an alloy of that same material. Or she would've gone the second she jumped over the table.
It steadily moved to the back areas of the restaurant in a practiced cautious manner that showed it's restraint and discipline in that moment. If she wasn't too much concerned about living, she might've found his physique to be...appealing.
The female inched her way forward to her previous designation, the flickering yellowed light that emitted low buzzing hum. Testing to make sure the swinging double doors didn't squeak or whine, she slipped through the opening. Moving in a half crouch she reached the light and found the dining areas of the restaurant to be in complete disarray of carnage and flies swirling in the air. The urge to vomit came to mind though there was nothing to regurgitate.
The remaining working streetlights of the main street spilled in an orangish yellow. Ceiling high windows were broken and it's glass fragments littered the floor like tiny diamonds. Sticking to the walls of the establishment, she carefully maneuvered around the glass, stepping on carcasses, not chancing they wouldn't hear the smallest noise.
'If there was an Olympics for 'A Quiet Place', I'd be reigning champion.'
A slow process that made her cheeks burn out of supposed embarrassment of an invisible audience and being caught unawares for making her escape too long. She swallowed thickly, she couldn't make mistakes, not one. Once she reached the door, she gently shifted the lower half of broken glass off then placed it on the ground before she quickly crawled out onto the sidewalk.
She shivered, rubbing her hands and forearms though wincing at the amount of mud she felt crusting and sticking to her skin. Lines of cars were crashed or abandoned in the main streets of the town. Looking around she waited a moment before she went over to the many vehicles, doing a quick cursory inside to look for anything she can use. Some of the vehicles were still on, a few emitting the silent broadcast of radio stations.
Seconds went by as the time ticked on burrowed minutes that stretched on for hours. On her knees in the passenger seat, she leaned towards the back as she found some water bottles and day old groceries. Just as her fingertips touched the cap of the water bottle, she felt the thin hairs of her arms raise up. Her eyes flicked up to see them, a black mass that sneered out a hiss.
'Oh shit.'
She didn't move but she couldn't stay with the passenger door open and being in a position that served her demise rather her survival. An echoing thump on the sidewalk behind her and on the rooftop of the car she was in made her cheeks blush and her ears hot out of anxiety. Most importantly they were sniffing or letting out raspy chuffs while they stood perched on the vehicles.
'I'm so screwed-'
The sudden wail of a car alarm shattered the silence, making the creatures screech then give chase to something. The panicked footsteps and labored breathing of a person sprinted by, they didn't see her as they shoved pass the open passenger door, sending her tumbling towards the back and her leg ache from getting hit by the door.
Their screams drew several more creatures from the shadows, the sheer volume of it giving ample time for her to get into the back seat of the car to sit among the groceries. Their shadows passed over head, their movements carelessly bashing into the side of the vehicles as their excitement for prey overruled their situational awareness.
'This is a nice car.'
She opened up the backseat, pulling it forward as she slid through the narrow opening of the back and pulled herself into the trunk. It was warmer in there, giving her a moment of solace and reprieve to let her body rest so her mind wouldn't be affected by lack of sleep tomorrow.

Imagine your f/o saving up for years to buy a tiny apartment in New York. Imagine them knocking out the windows on both sides and constructing a frame using galvanized square steel, and screws borrowed from their aunt to secure the frame firmly to the wall. Imagine them covering that framework with eco friendly wood veneer, and using the same veneers for the surrounding walls and ceiling. Imagine them installing aluminum alloy windows to seal it effectively.
Imagine them building a large wardrobe on the right side of the door. Imagine them using that to store out of season quilts and clothing.
Imagine them borrowing some mattresses to create a comfortable bed, making sure it’s spacious enough for both of you, and storing it in a space under the wardrobe when not in use.
Imagine them placing a folding table in the middle area to serve as both a workspace and a dining table. Imagine them storing it folded up against the wall when not in use.
Imagine them applying ceramic tiles to the corner walls and water water retaining strips on the ground, along with non slip tiles. Imagine them embedding a wall mounted toilet into that area, and installing a shower head above it.

AFTER-SHOCK
I thought I had seen everything and then I saw photos of Casa Portuale, a facility for Naples dockworkers designed by Aldo Rossi between 1968 and 1980. The immense poured concrete structure is ungainly, even by Brutalist standards, without a governing center, image, or profile. More surprisingly, it lacks the pictorial and narrative charm one associates with Rossi's iconic postmodern work. Even its drawings seem muddled.
Nonetheless it possesses an incrededible, animalistic charisma. Abandoned for decades, left open to air and rain, it's in bad shape today. Photos of the interior show bare concrete ceiling slabs, crumbling linoleum floor tile, dulled aluminum frame ribbon windows, distressed vertical blinds, toppled schoolroom chairs, and carefully framed views of the sea that hold it at a distance. But the building's appeal is something different from ruin porn -- the romance of nature overtaking the man-made. There are in Casa's massing, structure and planning complexities that approach absurdities, and this gives it a kind of battered anti-modern heroism.
The Casa fills a slender lot parallel to the water, between a low warehouse and train tracks. The entire ground floor is given over to parking. Above it hovers, on massive pilotis, a flat one-storey slab. Through this rises, from one end, a giant saucer enclosing a grand events room. Growing from it is a fifteen-story block from which smaller rooms burst through. The building reminds one of a parking garage, a spaceship, and a cruise ship, all lit up with a touch of the kooky expressionism Frank Lloyd Wright exercised in the 1950's. What other building looks like this?
At a moment when high-profile architecture projects are mostly taken over by branding, value-engineering and parametrics, Casa Portuale provokes. This gorgeous old beast asserts itself; it has the kind of authority that ancient buildings possess.

The Art of Adding Metallic Elegance to Your Kitchen
The kitchen is often considered the heart of the home, and adding metallic finishes is a brilliant way to introduce a modern, luxurious, and timeless appeal to this essential space. At WeDezine Studio, we’ve noticed a growing trend among homeowners in Bangalore who are blending contemporary interior design with the warmth of functionality. Metallic finishes, when incorporated thoughtfully, can elevate your kitchen into a stunning and sophisticated area. Here’s how to achieve this effortlessly.
1. Start Small with Subtle Metallic Accents
For those new to metallics, begin by adding subtle touches. Metallic hardware such as cabinet handles, knobs, or bar stools can bring a refined elegance without overwhelming the overall design.
Pro Tip: Pair metallic accents with neutral or pastel cabinet colors to create a harmonious look that feels both fresh and balanced.
2. Select Statement Lighting
Lighting is a powerful tool in interior design, and metallic fixtures can serve as eye-catching focal points. Install pendant lights or chandeliers in finishes like brushed nickel, copper, or brass to enhance functionality and aesthetics.
Popular Choice in Bangalore: Sleek brass pendant lights paired with warm LED bulbs are highly favored for their ability to create an inviting and cozy atmosphere.
3. Incorporate Metallic Backsplashes
A metallic backsplash is a bold yet practical design choice that adds depth and texture to your kitchen. Stainless steel, copper tiles, or mirrored glass are not only visually striking but also durable and easy to maintain.
Design Tip: Choose a stainless-steel backsplash for a contemporary look or opt for copper tiles to complement rustic or industrial-style kitchens.
4. Opt for Metallic Appliances
Stainless steel appliances have been a mainstay in modern kitchen designs for their timeless and sleek appearance. However, newer finishes like black stainless steel or bronze can add a unique twist to your space.
WeDezine Recommendation: Pair metallic appliances with matte-finished cabinets to achieve a sophisticated contrast.
5. Explore Metallic Countertops
Although less common, metallic countertops—crafted from materials like brushed aluminum or hammered metal—can make a bold design statement. They reflect light beautifully, creating the illusion of a larger, brighter kitchen.
Maintenance Note: Metallic countertops are durable but require regular cleaning to maintain their shine and pristine appearance.
6. Add Decorative Metallic Touches
Incorporate metallics through decorative elements such as copper pots, gold vases, or stainless-steel fruit bowls. These small additions can tie the design together while adding character to the space.
Quick Fix: Use metallic trays or utensil holders to add subtle glamour without committing to large-scale changes.
7. Master the Art of Mixing Metals
Mixing metals in interior design is no longer a faux pas. The key is to achieve balance. Blend warm metals like gold or brass with cooler tones like chrome or silver for a cohesive look.
Trending in Bangalore: Matte black accents combined with gold finishes are becoming a popular choice for contemporary urban homes.
8. Think Beyond with Metallic Flooring and Ceilings
For those who love bold interior design, consider extending metallic finishes to the flooring or ceiling. Metallic epoxy flooring offers a seamless, glossy surface that reflects light and enhances the room’s aesthetic appeal.
WeDezine Insight: A metallic-finished ceiling with recessed lighting can give your kitchen an ultra-modern, high-end vibe.
Final Thoughts
Metallic finishes are incredibly versatile and complement a variety of kitchen styles, from modern minimalism to classic rustic charm. The key lies in balancing the metallic elements to enhance both functionality and design.
At WeDezine Studio, we specialize in creating personalized interiors tailored to your vision. Whether you’re designing or remodeling your dream kitchen in Bangalore, our experts can help transform your space into a masterpiece that’s stylish, practical, and timeless.

Sun or Shade, Rain or Shine: Choosing the Perfect Roof for Your Covered Patio
Transform your ordinary patio into an outdoor oasis with the magical touch of a covered roof. But with so many options available, choosing the perfect covering can feel like navigating a jungle of materials and styles. Fear not, patio enthusiasts! This guide will equip you with the knowledge to confidently select a roof that seamlessly blends form and function, creating a haven you'll cherish year-round.
Consider Your Climate:
Before diving into materials, understand your local climate's quirks. Does the sun scorch your backyard for most of the year? Or do you battle frequent downpours? Choosing a roof that can withstand the elements is crucial.
Sun-drenched Climates: Opt for materials like shade sails, pergolas, or retractable awnings for adjustable sun control. Consider slatted roofs or louvered panels for dappled light and ventilation.
Rainy Climates: Choose waterproof materials like metal, polycarbonate, or acrylic sheeting. Ensure proper drainage to prevent water pooling. Consider a pitched roof for efficient rainwater runoff.
Style and Material Matters:
Aesthetics play a vital role in blending your roof with your home's existing style. Here are some popular options:
Natural Beauty: Wood pergolas offer a rustic charm, while bamboo or woven palm thatch adds a tropical vibe.
Modern Appeal: Metal roofs in sleek finishes like aluminum or corrugated steel create a contemporary look. Consider retractable fabric canopies for maximum style flexibility.
Classic Elegance: Clay tiles or slate offer a timeless European touch, while translucent polycarbonate panels provide a light and airy feel.
Budgeting for Bliss:
Cost plays a significant role in your decision. Consider the price of materials, installation, and potential maintenance needs.
Budget-Friendly: Fabric awnings and shade sails are generally affordable, while wood pergolas can be built DIY-style.
Mid-Range: Metal roofs offer good value for their durability, while polycarbonate panels provide a cost-effective alternative to traditional roofing materials.
Luxury Options: Clay tiles and slate offer a premium look but come with a higher price tag. Retractable awnings and motorized louvered roofs also fall into this category.
Don't Forget the Details:
Once you've chosen your material, consider additional elements like:
Lighting: String lights, pendant lamps, or recessed downlights can create a magical ambiance.
Ceiling Fans: Keep the air circulating and combat summer heat with ceiling fans.
Plants and Vines: Let nature take center stage by adding climbing plants or hanging greenery.
Remember:
Choosing the perfect covered patio roof is an exciting journey. By considering your climate, style preferences, and budget, you can create an outdoor haven that extends your living space and enhances your quality of life. So, grab your iced tea, envision your dream patio, and let the roof-selecting adventure begin!

Doors, Windows & Interiors: Transforming Houston Homes with Style and Functionality
In Houston, Texas, the right choice of doors, windows, and interior designs can do wonders for your home’s appeal, energy efficiency, and overall comfort. Whether you're renovating or building new, each component plays an essential role in shaping your space. Here’s how choosing quality doors, windows, and interior features can transform your Houston home, adding value and style that will last.
Why Doors Matter More Than You Think
Doors are more than just entryways; they create first impressions and set the tone for the style inside your home. From front doors to bedroom doors, they contribute to your home's security, energy efficiency, and visual appeal. When choosing doors for a Houston home, here’s what to consider:
Front Doors: The main entrance is the focal point for any home’s curb appeal. Solid wood, fiberglass, or steel doors are popular in Houston because they offer durability and security, along with style options that fit any home aesthetic.
Interior Doors: Interior doors bring privacy and function to each room. Options like panel doors, sliding barn doors, or French doors can define each space uniquely, enhancing the overall design theme.
Sliding and Patio Doors: With Houston’s warm climate, patio doors bring the outdoors in and provide ample natural light. Sliding glass doors, French doors, and bi-fold doors allow you to connect your indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly.
Choosing Energy-Efficient Windows in Houston
Houston's hot summers and variable climate make energy-efficient windows a priority. Well-insulated windows keep your home cool in summer, warm in winter, and help cut down on energy bills. Here’s a look at what to consider when choosing windows for your Houston home:
Double or Triple Glazing: Double or triple-pane windows provide extra insulation, keeping your home comfortable year-round. Insulated glass reduces heat transfer, helping maintain an optimal indoor temperature.
Low-E Coatings: Windows with low-emissivity (Low-E) coatings minimize UV and infrared rays that pass through the glass, while still allowing visible light in. This technology keeps interiors cooler and reduces fading of furniture and flooring.
Vinyl, Wood, or Aluminum Frames: Each material offers unique benefits. Vinyl is affordable and energy-efficient, while wood provides a classic look but requires maintenance. Aluminum is durable and modern, ideal for Houston’s hot climate.
Interior Design Elements that Add Value to Your Houston Home
Beyond doors and windows, interior design choices like trim, molding, and cabinetry bring personality and elegance to your home. Adding these details can completely transform the look and feel of your spaces.
Crown Molding and Baseboards: These classic additions add a polished look to any room, drawing attention to high ceilings and adding visual interest. White trim is a popular choice in Houston homes as it contrasts beautifully with colored walls.
Built-In Shelving and Cabinets: Custom cabinetry and built-in shelves add functionality and style to living rooms, kitchens, and bedrooms. Not only do they maximize storage space, but they can also become stylish focal points.
Flooring Choices: Hardwood, tile, and luxury vinyl are popular flooring options for Houston homes. Hardwood offers a timeless, elegant look, while tile is ideal for hot weather, keeping floors cool underfoot.
Tips for Choosing the Right Doors, Windows, and Interior Elements
Prioritize Energy Efficiency: In Houston, energy-efficient doors and windows can greatly reduce utility costs and improve comfort.
Choose Quality Materials: Durable materials last longer and save money on future replacements. Look for materials like fiberglass for doors and double-pane glass for windows.
Match Your Home's Style: Whether you prefer a modern, traditional, or rustic look, choosing cohesive elements can elevate your home's interior and exterior design.
Consider Maintenance Needs: Certain materials, like wood, may require regular upkeep in Houston’s humid climate, while vinyl or fiberglass options often offer low-maintenance durability.
The Impact of Professional Installation
Even the highest-quality doors, windows, and interior features require expert installation to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Improper installation can lead to air leaks, decreased energy efficiency, and security issues. Professional installers have the experience needed to fit each element perfectly and ensure that your home meets Houston’s building standards.
Final Thoughts: Elevating Houston Homes with Quality Doors, Windows & Interiors
The right doors, windows, and interior features can make a lasting impression and increase the value of your Houston home. From enhancing curb appeal to boosting energy efficiency and improving comfort, each choice matters. Whether you're building new or renovating, carefully selected elements and expert installation can make a world of difference in your home’s appearance, functionality, and resale value.

The kitchen is often called the heart of the home, and for a modern kitchen, functionality and style go hand in hand. One key feature that enhances both aspects is a well-designed chimney. In today’s world of evolving home décor trends, the concept of a modular kitchen chimney design has gained significant attention. Modular chimneys not only serve a practical purpose but also add a sophisticated, aesthetic touch to your kitchen.
At Dynamic Electric World, we understand the importance of blending design with efficiency. In this guide, we'll walk you through the key factors to consider while selecting a modular kitchen chimney that meets both your design aspirations and practical needs.
What Is a Modular Kitchen Chimney?
A modular kitchen chimney is an advanced version of a traditional chimney. It’s specifically designed to meet the demands of modern kitchens where space utilization, style, and functionality are of utmost importance. Unlike the basic chimneys of the past, modular kitchen chimneys are built to effectively manage smoke, fumes, and grease while adding a touch of elegance to the kitchen’s look.
Why You Need a Kitchen Chimney
If you’re wondering whether a chimney is necessary, here’s why it’s indispensable for a modern kitchen:
Eliminates Smoke and Odors: Cooking generates a lot of smoke, especially when frying or grilling. A chimney efficiently absorbs the smoke, preventing it from spreading through your home.
Maintains Cleanliness: Chimneys help remove grease particles from the air, keeping your kitchen cabinets, tiles, and ceiling clean and free from sticky residues.
Improves Air Quality: Constant exposure to smoke and fumes can affect the indoor air quality, leading to respiratory issues. A good chimney helps maintain a healthy atmosphere in the kitchen.
Enhances Aesthetic Appeal: Modern chimneys come in a variety of designs that can complement the overall décor of your kitchen.
Key Factors to Consider for Modular Kitchen Chimney Design
Choosing the right modular kitchen chimney design can be a daunting task with so many options available. Here are some essential factors to consider:
1. Size of the Chimney
The size of the chimney should match the size of your kitchen and stovetop. A chimney that is too small will be ineffective, while an oversized chimney could overwhelm the space. Typically, chimneys come in two standard sizes – 60 cm and 90 cm. A 60 cm chimney is ideal for a small to medium-sized kitchen, while a 90 cm chimney is perfect for larger spaces.
2. Suction Power
Suction power determines how effectively the chimney can remove smoke, fumes, and grease. Measured in cubic meters per hour (m³/hr), the suction capacity of a chimney should match the size of your kitchen. For a small kitchen, a chimney with suction power between 700-1000 m³/hr is sufficient, while for a larger kitchen, opt for one with higher suction power, around 1200-1500 m³/hr.
3. Types of Chimneys
There are two main types of modular kitchen chimneys:
Ducted Chimneys: These chimneys expel the smoke and fumes outside through a duct or pipe. They are highly efficient and recommended for homes with sufficient space for ducting.
Ductless Chimneys: These chimneys use filters to purify the air and recirculate it back into the kitchen. They are suitable for kitchens where installing ducts is not possible.
4. Filter Type
Filters are an essential component of any kitchen chimney. They trap grease, oil, and smoke, ensuring clean air. There are three main types of filters to choose from:
Mesh Filters: Made of multiple layers of aluminum mesh, these filters require regular cleaning to prevent clogging.
Baffle Filters: More efficient than mesh filters, baffle filters are suitable for Indian kitchens where frying and heavy cooking are common. They are also easier to clean.
Charcoal Filters: Used mainly in ductless chimneys, charcoal filters are excellent for removing odors. However, they need frequent replacement.
5. Noise Levels
The noise generated by a kitchen chimney is another important factor to consider. Modern chimneys are designed to operate quietly, but it’s always a good idea to check the noise level (measured in decibels) before purchasing. A chimney with a noise level between 50-60 dB is considered comfortable for most homes.
6. Design and Style
The aesthetic appeal of the chimney should align with the overall design of your kitchen. Modular chimneys come in a variety of designs, including:
Wall-mounted: Installed against the wall, these chimneys are perfect for kitchens where the stovetop is placed along a wall.
Island Chimneys: Ideal for kitchens with a central cooking area, these chimneys are installed on the ceiling above the island counter.
Built-in Chimneys: These chimneys are integrated into kitchen cabinets for a seamless look.
At Dynamic Electric World, we offer a wide range of modular kitchen chimney designs to suit every kitchen layout and style.
Maintenance Tips for Modular Kitchen Chimneys
To ensure the longevity and efficiency of your chimney, regular maintenance is crucial. Here are some simple tips to keep your chimney in top condition:
Clean the Filters Regularly: Mesh and baffle filters should be cleaned every 2-3 weeks, depending on how frequently you cook. Charcoal filters, on the other hand, need to be replaced every 3-6 months.
Wipe the Exterior: Grease and grime can accumulate on the exterior of the chimney. Wipe it down with a soft cloth and mild detergent to maintain its shine.
Annual Servicing: Schedule professional servicing at least once a year to ensure that the chimney functions efficiently. This helps identify any issues early on and keeps your chimney in top shape.
Why Choose Dynamic Electric World?

Our products are tailored to meet the unique needs of every kitchen, ensuring that you get both functionality and style. Conclusion
A modular kitchen chimney is more than just a necessity; it’s a design element that adds value to your home. At Dynamic Electric World, we are committed to helping you make the right choice with our diverse range of modular kitchen chimneys that meet the highest standards of performance and aesthetics.

Punto y Coma Bookstore / Verduzco + Guerra
A bookstore and cultural centre that seeks to spark spontaneous interactions, fostering a network of collaborative knowledge exchange.
Leverages the existing architectural structure of the old condominium, developing a fluid, doorless layout. The design is characterized by curved walls, inviting users to explore and freely discover every corner of the space, thus creating a dynamic and welcoming experience.
With a simple linear gesture, a long display table unifies the layout and creates a circuit that promotes a continuous discovery experience. The space includes various corners adapted to different needs: from open areas for rest and socializing to intimate spaces ideal for reading and reflection. For example, the Reflective Space is an area with undefined use that creates an intimate atmosphere for the various activities of the cultural center. At the back of the premises, there is a collaborative area offering three distinct work modes: a central blue table, a booth with individual tables, and a long desk with views of a small courtyard.
Materials and fixed furniture: The intervention of the premises consisted of understanding the potential of the space and selecting materials that highlight its qualities. The pre-existing tile, which was part of the initial construction, was removed to reveal the original slab from the 1980s construction. This resulted in a polished and rough concrete finish on the floors. On the walls and ceilings, fine lime stucco by Nanocal was applied, providing a smooth and continuous surface, and homogenizing the different spaces.
The natural wood blends with the tone of the walls, simplifying the spatial composition and leaving a neutral canvas to appropriately display the books and objects arranged on the shelves.
The prefabricated shelf system, based on brackets and natural aluminum strips by JM Villegas, offers remarkable flexibility to adapt the modules according to size and height needs. Meanwhile, natural steel accents, such as the central cylindrical light fixture, underscore the uniqueness and functionality of the space. The combination of materials and furniture contributes to the playful character of the space, inviting the user to feel, touch, and experience the elements that make up the project.

Explore Innovative New Ceiling Designs: Transform Your Space with Modern Elegance and Functionality
New ceiling designs are redefining interior aesthetics, offering a fresh perspective on how we perceive and utilize overhead spaces. From sleek modern styles to intricate architectural features, contemporary ceiling designs enhance the functionality and visual appeal of any room. By integrating innovative materials, shapes, and lighting solutions, these designs can transform a standard ceiling into a striking focal point.
Innovative Materials and Textures
Modern ceiling designs leverage a variety of materials to achieve unique textures and effects. For a clean and minimalist look, consider using stretch ceilings, which are made from flexible vinyl or fabric stretched over a lightweight frame. This material allows for seamless installations and can incorporate custom prints or reflective finishes to enhance light and space perception.
For a touch of natural elegance, wood panels or reclaimed timber can add warmth and character. Wood ceilings can be installed in various patterns, such as slatted or coffered designs, creating a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere. Additionally, incorporating metal elements, such as brushed aluminum or copper, introduces a contemporary edge and can be combined with other materials for a multi-dimensional effect.
Architectural Features and Shapes
New ceiling designs also explore innovative shapes and architectural features that break away from traditional flat surfaces. One popular trend is the use of geometric patterns, including hexagonal or triangular tiles, which can create a dynamic visual impact. These shapes can be arranged in various configurations to add depth and interest to the ceiling.
Another captivating option is the integration of sculptural elements, such as curved or wave-like forms. These designs can introduce a sense of movement and fluidity to a room, making the ceiling an active component of the overall interior design. Additionally, recessed and dropped ceilings allow for the creation of layered effects, adding both visual intrigue and the opportunity for built-in lighting.
Lighting Integration
Lighting plays a crucial role in new ceiling designs, enhancing both functionality and ambiance. Modern ceiling designs often incorporate integrated lighting solutions, such as LED strips or recessed downlights, to provide subtle, ambient illumination. These lighting elements can be positioned to highlight architectural features or create a soft, diffuse light that enhances the room’s overall atmosphere.
For a more dramatic effect, consider incorporating a statement chandelier or pendant lights. These fixtures can serve as a focal point and complement the ceiling design, adding a touch of luxury and elegance. Additionally, smart lighting systems allow for customizable color and intensity, enabling you to adjust the mood of the room according to your preferences.
Design Considerations and Tips
When exploring new ceiling designs, consider the room’s purpose and architectural style. For example, in a modern living room or dining area, sleek, high-gloss finishes and minimalist designs can complement contemporary furnishings. In contrast, a coffered or textured ceiling might be more suitable for traditional or rustic interiors, adding depth and character.
It’s also important to consider acoustics when choosing a ceiling design. Materials such as acoustic panels or drop ceilings can help manage sound and improve the overall acoustic quality of a room, particularly in spaces like home theaters or offices.
In Summary
New ceiling designs offer a multitude of possibilities for transforming overhead spaces into captivating elements of interior design. By incorporating innovative materials, shapes, and lighting solutions, you can create ceilings that are not only functional but also visually stunning. Whether you prefer a minimalist look, a natural touch, or an architectural statement, modern ceiling designs provide the tools to enhance and elevate your living or working environment.
