Luffy
Uses the pokeballs that he finds the coolest looking, usually fastballs.
Tumblr media
Chimchar just seems like the best starter option for Luffy, other being Grookey but I went with a fire type. There is several monkey pokemon that could be on his team, maybe he has them in the box.
Scizor and Heracross because Luffy loves collecting bugs, plus Scizor, Clobbopus and Breloom all fight using punches. Also Breloom has a hat and a shiny version is red.
Fighting type is also fitting for Luffy.
Talonflame as a reference to red hawk move.
Zoro
Doesn't care about pokeball types so uses plain npokeballs, with the exception of cherishball that holds Kuina's Gallade. Only has 3 pokemon, cause, you know.
Tumblr media
All three pokemon seem selfexplanatory why I picked them for Zoro? Gallade's story was here.
He easily went through rock and grass gyms with Treecko and Charcadet but got stuck at fighting gym because of Kuina.
Nami
Uses luxuryballs, probably stollen.
Tumblr media
Found shiny Purrloin in a trash as a kid and took it home. Has a team of sneaky cats with Meowth being a lucky charm in their heist.
Castform and Wingul as a reference to her navigation skills/role in canon.
Nickit could be on the team but I thought it'd fit Karina more with the whole cat and fox dynamic. Done it here.
Usopp
Bug collector and uses netballs, probably has every bug pokemon and a few shinies in the box.
Tumblr media
His Heracross often spars with Luffy's.
Doesn't collect badges but somehow ended up earning one in a ghost gym.
Probably has Smeargle and Kecleon in the box.
Sanji
Is a sea cook so he fishes a lot, uses lureballs, diveballs and netballs, which is funny because I forgot to give him a water type on the team let's just say he has them in a box. He feeds wild pokemon.
Tumblr media
Blaziken is just a pokemon version of Sanji pretty much and Tsareena seems right for his team… for several reasons.
Alcremie is just one of the many food related pokemon that Sanji probbaly has.
Ninetails and Zorua mainly because Sanji assosiates with a fox for me, been thinking of Alolan Vulpix line and Hisuian Zorua line as options too, but went with fire type because of Sanji's moves and a dark type for how sneaky he usually is during story arcs.
Gardevoir as a counterpart to Zoro's Gallade.
Been thinking of giving him Skiddo because of Oda's words that Sanji's animal self would be a goat and grass types just seemed fitting with all the ingredients that grow on themselves? Maybe a flying type too.

Nia references Trubbish and Garboder in one of the earlier chapters when counterin Tobias' argument about the oddities of the human world…
How could such a species even exist if humans never naturally came to be in this Pokemon world of Seekers?
One of Trubbish' Pokedex entries says, "... was created when garbage and industrial waste mixed, causing a reaction that generated Trubbish."
Unless you may have an entirely different origin in mind for them, lmao.
Same goes for both forms of Muk and Grimer.
… Do Kantonian Voltorb and Electrode exist in Seekers? I can't remember if either have ever appeared...
And I guess the regional forms directly affected by humankind's actions (i.e. Alolan Ratata and Raticate, Alolan Meowth and Persian, Galarian Weezing, Galarian Meowth and Perrserker, Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark) could technically have unique ways of comin to existence due to certain historical or cultural events in the past.
Apparently the Vanillish and Klink lines came first and are what inspired the creation of ice cream and gears…
What about Golett and Golurk and Baltoy and Claydoll? Both lines were created by ancient civilizations… Same POSSIBLY goes for Bronzong and Bronzor.
And I can see Rotom existin... they jus can't inhabit appliances because those jus don't exist in Seekers' pokeworld.
And what of the Magnemite line? Castform? Castform was shockinly actually artificially created in Hoenn to help predict weather! I could see them existin somehow through natural means (clouds that became sentient through mystical means).
What about Deoxys? Deoxys simply came from space when its virus inside a meteorite mutates in the planet's atmosphere… Not from any manmade means.
Does Spiritomb exist and would it be comprised of 108 Pokemon spirits?
The ones I can def rule out from previous asks and convos are Mewtwo, Porygon line, Genesect, Megearna, Type: Null/Silvally, the Galarian fossilmon, Future Paradox Pokemon… And that would also go for Past Parodox Pokemon as well.
I'm also guessin that rules out Meltan and Melmetal as well (can't remember if you mentioned that).
And ya said Ultrabeasts don't exist purely because of no Ultra Wormholes, so no Lunala, Necrozma, Solgaleo, Cosmog, nor Cosmeon. (Though someone made a point in the server about that tombstone possibly havin a depiction of Lunala on it…) I do like the idea that Lunala and Solgaleo have existed once in this world, but someday jus... vanished.
Eternatus is said to be from another world as well… I'm guessin it doesn't exist, or maybe it does to some compacity? Do Zacian and Zamazenta exist in some shape or form?
And since gimmicks like Z-Moves, Dynamax, Gigantamax, and Mega Evolution also don't exist, it'd only make sense the Terrastalization phenomenon also doesn't exist, so no Teragapos either… (Maybe they did at one time but have all vanished or gone extinct).
Could the Treasures of Ruin (Chien-Pao, Wo-Chien, Chi-Yu, and Ting-Lu) also exist in some capacity? It could've been some long forgotten or scarcely known Legendary crafted the items they possess and planted them as precious artifacts across rhe world that intrepid explorers or passersby found and the resultin avarice of whomever owned the treasures caused their curses to bring them to life and take on their corporeal forms as a form of punishment or some sick pleasure from that Legendary? I dunno, I jus really love this quartet! They're so fascinatin and I myself have actually found a way to incorporate them into my PMD EOS AU lore!!
I know this is an enormously long ask, but thanks tons if ya take the time to comb through this and offer some answers! I know a lot of this is reachin and not really pertinant to Seekers' main plot, but it'd be really cool supplementary material! Sorta like what ya guessed for Zekrom and Reshiram.
Oh dang, this is a beefy ask, haha! Here we go.
The Pokemon in Seekers still create waste, even if most of it isn't nearly as manufactured and toxic as the human world's! Plus, the runoff from natural poison types like the gulpin and clodsire lines contributes to the natural poison waste in the environment. I will say that poison types like trubbish and grimer are much less common in Seekers than in the mainline Pokemon worlds, though!
Kantonian voltorb and electrode exist as a natural steel-type offshoot of the Hisuian variant! They just happen to look a lot like the pokeballs of other Pokemon worlds. :]
Hm...I'm going to say the golett/baltoy/bronzor lines just came from ancient Pokemon civilizations' artifacts, rather than human ones!
Magnemite aren't artificially created, so they're present in the Seekers world! I agree that castform could exist through different means, but it's likely a rare occurrence since they would have to come together through a sort of "freak accident" of weather phenomena.
Deoxys isn't currently present in Seekers, but they would have the potential to show up at some point if the space virus made its way to the planet!
Spiritomb does exist, but it's Pokemon spirits instead of human ones as is usually implied in Pokemon's canon.
The meltan/melmetal line exists, though they're rare! They're not manmade and are born from natural steel components.
Whoops. Forgot that I mentioned Lunala on the crobat's tombstone, haha!!! 😅 Let's say that Lunala and Solgaleo are largely considered legends, then, even more so than other Legendary Pokemon. They were thought to exist once, but have long since returned to their own dimensions and are no longer present in the Seekers canon.
Similar to Deoxys, Eternatus isn't currently present in the Seekers world, but could potentially show up if the meteorite it was born from in canon showed up in the world!
Zacian and Zamazenta exist, just without the same lore from Sword and Shield (so no Darkest Day). Instead, they simply guard their territory from threats. I don't think they'll be considered Legendary in Seekers, though. They feel more like regular (albeit powerful) Pokemon to me. I don't have an area in mind for where they dwell, though!
Terapagos probably exists, but its ambient power isn't enough to cause terrastalization in other Pokemon. No game gimmicks here.
The Treasures of Ruin might exist, but that's another quartet that I wouldn't really consider "Legendaries" in Seekers canon! I'd say they're lying dormant in their shrines throughout the Seekers world, but I don't have any lore currently on who sealed them away. They were sealed away due to being dangerous, though, since they were created from negative emotions! Not that that nixes the possibility for redemption down the line. 👀
Hope that satisfies some of your curiosity!

I need everyone to know that I have a whole MDZS Pokémon au. That I’ve have drawn pictures for, which I will share with you over a few posts.
(‘Drawn’ is a strong word I think, because I did just trace over the official artwork and just make them ‘Pokémon-y’ lol)
A couple of things about my au- 1) Everyone has a team of three Pokémon, because giving them a full six is exhausting to keep straight. 2) their starter Pokémon are the ones with names, and the names are the sword names. If they have a named second weapon, such as the flute or the guqin, then the corresponding Pokémon is named with that name. This has created a kinda funny happening where WWX and LWG have two out of three Pokémon named, but the third one just gets to be the Pokémon name. Isn’t that a little sad?
First up, because as far as I have right now they are mostly irrelevant because they are post-plot, are the Juniors!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I tried to give a lot of Lans ‘bunny’ Pokémon. So LSZ and LJY share Plusel and Minon, since they are a pair! The two are very good at double battles.
LSZ tells people that his Scorbunny is his started, and he does kinda think that’s true to his memory. I gave him that because ‘bunny’ and I gave Wens a lot of fire type Pokémon, so I felt that it fit. His actual first start is his Phantump, which started following him as a very small child. It’s Pokédex entry states that, according to legend, they are stumps possessed by the spirits of children, so I thought that fit him lol. His backstory isn’t as sad here, and Yiling is simply the graveyard town that many Pokémon regions have. I’m still debating how bad the Wens fate is, so we’ll come back to this.
LJY has an Alolan Vulpix because its something I gave to many Lans. It was supposed to be his starter because many Lan children start with them, but he ended up finding a Magikarp in the cold pond first. He begged to keep it, and so that became his starter. It only knows tackle. (So LJY claims, as the tackle in question looks a lot like the move splash, and only hits the opponent some of the time. If it’s not 100% accurate then it’s only 50% accurate lol)
Why did I give him a Magikarp? Because the thought of LJY with a Gyarados is hilarious.
Tumblr media
And then there’s Jin Ling!
I had to think very hard about his Pokémon. I tried to give the Jin’s Pokémon that have the red dot on their forehead, and that includes Persian for a few. So I thought if it would be funny if Jin Ling had the Alolan version, since Meowth looks so sassy but Persian would look so dumb.
His Herdier is Fairy. I was really debating what dog Pokémon to give him here, and honestly, I just really like that line of Pokémon. It’s strong, and useful. I’ve used them on many gen 5 teams. And of course, this Pokémon was given to him by JGY, so he needs a Pokémon from his other uncle! Mareep was given to him as an egg from JC.
Most trainers in this universe get one Pokémon as a starter, and then slowly over their journey get two more that they carefully chose, since the teams are so small and they are more like life companions. Jin Ling over here got all his Pokémon within a month, between the classic Jin starter (Meowth) and the presents from his uncles. Because of this, and other factors, he comes off incredibly spoiled and disconnected from everyone else.
Not pictured here is the Pokémon he ‘inherited’ from his father. It will be shown when we get to that character profile, but it’s so high level, that it won’t listen to Jin Ling no matter what. JZX wanted Jing Ling to be safe, but his Pokémon tends to get knocked out doing stupid shit more often than not lol
Sidenote here, but while I don’t love the outfits I gave the Lan babies, I really do like Jin Ling’s design. I think he looks the most like a Pokémon protagonist!
I do also want to SVSSS au like this, but I don’t have good traceable images like this lol. Maybe one day.

Because it's been rolling around in my head for a while thanks to the Indigo Disk DLC release...
Bells Hells Pokémon Teams!
These are all vibe based, limited to the six Pokémon teams, and everyone gets at least one Legendary and Shiny. Some will be evolutionary lines because I could see them coming into the campaign unevolved.
Chetney
Stoutland- received as a Lillipup when Chet was a kid, this majestic old dog is his oldest companion. I think Stoutland speaks nicely to Chetney having a pretty normal life before he became a werewolf. Aslo, Chet can ride his Stoutland around, which is fun
Phantump- met as Chet trained in the Bramblewood, this spirit of a child in a tree stump/wood fell in love with Chetney's toy carving. Chet loves the joy this Pokémon feels with every project
Snover/Abamasnow- this tree Pokémon was caught during the Icelost years that Chet was present for in Tal'Dorei
Banette- Chetney is worried about his toycraft becoming obsolete, and this Pokémon is an abandoned toy. Also Chet talked about letting his grudges stew before werewolfdom
Lycanroc (Midnight Form, Shiny)- it's a Pokémon with something like the classical wolfman-werewolf shape, so werewolf vibes, baby! Caught after Chet got lycanthropy, shiny because it matches Chet's original color scheme
Zacian- look, it's a wolf that's set to shank a bitch. Tell me that doesn't vibe with Chetney
Orym
Sirfetch'd- Flying-type with a sword and shield, obviously meant for Mr Sword and Shield of the Air Ashari
Honedge/Doublade/Aegislash- Orym's memento of his husband that always travels with him is Will's sword, so the ghost sword(and later sword/shield combo) makes sense for Oym
Comfey- friendly cute flowers for Mr Druidcraft gifts
Pidgey/Pidgeotto/Pidgeot- the normal-est bird for the normal-est guy. Yet capable and more striking the further down the line they get
Appletun (Shiny)- got it in Byroden as a reminder to enjoy life and pie. Also, little guy solidarity. Shiny because green apple for Orym who wears green
Shaymin- more friendly flowers for Orym, and the Sky Form is a little fighter like him
Fearne
Darumaka- Fearne needs a fire monkey to mirror Little Mister and this is the round fire monkey shaped like the Little Mister plush
Braixen/Delphox- fire Pokémon with a bit of a witch aesthetic for the fire girl of the Witchy Bitches
Impidimp- a Fairy-type with a mischievous streak for our mischievous fey
Skiddo/Gogoat- for the goat-ness of being a faun and a little druidic Grass-type
Gloom/Vileplume (Shiny)- for Fearne's love of poisonous flowers. And shiny because it's green and orange, which are Fearne's colors
Moltres- a burning phoenix Pokémon that Fearne worries will take on the Galarian Form that her Bad Future Self had
Imogen
Mudsdale- workhorse for the farmgirl who loves horses
Ponyta (Galarian)- cute unicorn pony with Psychic typing (not Galarian Rapidash because I think it's ugly)
Blitzle/Zebstrika (Shiny)- the Electric-type "horse" (zebras are close, okay?) Pokémon for our storming electrical Horse Girl. And shiny because Zebstrika is purple when shiny
Hattrem/Hatterene- Imogen's witch Pokémon. It's Psychic-type and sensitive to emotions, making it sort of like her mindreading
Elgyem/Beheeyem- Psychic-type and kind of alien-ish and said to mess with people's heads, this Pokémon showed up to Imogen after her Exaltant powers awakened
Spectrier- Legendary horse that comes in Imogen's two colors: purple and red
Laudna
Rattata (Alolan)- to mirror Pâté. Potentially shiny as the deep red and black are Laudna's colors
Mimikyu (Shiny)- a broken doll-like Pokémon for a person who feels like a broken doll. And shiny makes it a pale black and white like Laudna
Mismagius- Laudna's witch Pokémon, and ghostly of course (Also collar gems like Delilah?)
Leavanny- a bit of a crafter Pokémon and protective of kids
Meowth (Galarian)- the Alolan Meowth and Kantonian Persian are the kind of Pokémon I could see noble ladies having, so Laudna decided to catch her own Meowth... and ended up with a scrungly Galarian one. But she loves them anyways
Marshadow- it's shadow theme matches Laudna's Shadow Sorcerery. And Laudna does spend time trying to copy the Ladies of Whitestone...
FCG
Togepi/Togetic/Togekiss- Pokémon that are about bestowing happiness, because that's all FCG wants for their friends. Possibly not enthused by Togekiss being so bird-like, while Togetic is definitely on the edge of comfortable
Happiny/Chansey/Blissey- classic Pokémon Center helper and healers line for the cleric
Porygon/Porygon 2/Porygon-Z- artificial Pokémon for the artificially made person. The bird-ish shape might weird FCG out a bit
Fidough/Dachsbund- obtained after they got their oven installed, this Pokémon helps FCG with his baking endeavors
Iron Thorns- secret Aeorian rage-mode Pokémon since Future Paradox Pokémon look like robots and Tyranitar, which Iron Thorns is based off of, is known for raging around (also reflects Ashton having a Tyranitar a bit)
Magearna- a man-made clockwork Legendary for the Aeormaton
Ashton
Golett/Golurk (Shiny)- a rock person Pokémon for an actual rock person. And they're also powered by mysterious energies. Probably Ashton's original Pokémon. Shiny for green glow lines
Tyranitar- acquired as a Larvitar in Bassuras and a point of pride to have fully evolved given the reputation of such a Pokémon in that city
Tinkaton- also caught in Bassuras as a Tinkatink. It's a Pokémon with a big hammer and the evolutionary line would probably be semi-common in the scrap heaps of Bassuras (Also the Corviknight hunting as a get rid of birds that FCG fears/hates)
Growlithe/Arcanine(Hisuian)- for Ashton's strong loyalties. Possibly acquired after attempting to absorb the Spark of Rau'shan for the Fire/Rock typing, or just had since a kid from Hishari
Cosmog- suddenly appeared after Ashton got galaxy-brained because it's a little galaxy guy from another (higher?) dimension. It's Ashton's innocent baby who doesn't know how to stay in the damn pokéball and not reveal his soft side
Regigigas- this is the big titan Pokémon, hauling continents and shit. Not to mention that the Slow Start ability reflects how Ashton had a titan shard for twenty years before they really got it to do anything spectacular

What pokemon do you think the miraculous kids would have? :o
---
Oh, this is a good question! I love thinking about what Pokémon Types would suit different characters the best.
Frankly, I think Marinette’s thing would really be Pokémon Contests, which would mean that she wouldn’t be too likely to settle on a single Type. She definitely would have the required planning and dedication required to obtain her own Feebas and evolve it to Milotic to function as the star of her Contest team. My experience says Rapidash is also an excellent Contest Pokémon for Beauty Category Contests.
If Marinette was a battle trainer, though, she’d be obsessed with finding a Type/Pokémon with no weaknesses. So she’d have stuff like Spiritomb, Dragapult, Aggron or Aegislash. The thing about Marinette is that, even as a gym leader, she’d try to minmax her team to try to remove any weaknesses, so expect weird stuff like Fire Types with Grass Knot to take out Water Types. The type she’s most likely to specialize in is Steel Types, I think, due to their absolutely absurd amount of resistances. Once again, we come to Aggron or Aegislash as possible Pokémon for her. I also see Mawile, Empoleon or Lucario suiting her. The Lucario would have started as a Riolu, and would be the Tikki equivalent.
Adrien is so very, very likely to gravitate towards Dark Types due to how they often get misunderstood as evil omens. I absolutely see him having an Absol and an Incineroar, the two go-to misunderstood Dark Types. A Zorua or Zoroark would also be thematically a perfect match for him, due to his own ability to change himself to try to please those around him. The Impidimp line would also suit him, because Adrien likes little imps (in a Pokémon setting, I’d see Plagg as an Impidimp rather than a cat Pokémon). He would have very likely started with an Eevee he then lovingly raised into an Umbreon.
Alya is a seeker of truth and she loves discovering new knowledge, so I see her with Psychic Type Pokémon that are associated with knowledge and intelligence, like Alakazam, Orbeetle and Musharna. The Musharna would be the Trixx, since it has the ability to create illusions. I would also give her a Starmie due to its ability to emit radio waves (haha, Lady Wifi reference). Alya also gets an Exeggutor because its theme is “getting along with your siblings”, but we’ll break the pattern a bit and give her the Alolan Exeggutor, because I have other plans for the regular one.
Nino is the character most likely to remain calm in any situation, and the Psychic Type has a move literally called Calm Mind, so he’s another one I’d match with the Psychic Type. He’d have both a Gardevoir and a Gallade to work in tandem to match his balanced but protective personality. In addition he’d have the skateboard buddy Pokémon Alolan Raichu. I also see Nino with a Slowpoke/Slowbro due to his transformation from an unmotivated person to someone who really wants to help others, which is something the Slowbro transformation does for Slowpoke too. Nino also gets the regular Exeggutor for the “getting along with your siblings” theming. Slowbro would be the Wayzz equivalent.
Chloé gets Steel Types like Marinette for those parallels. The Steel Type comes with some really fitting picks, like the Pawniard line that goes with her obsession over status, and Tinkatink, whose hammer keeps getting bigger like the writers keep hammering the point about Chloé. Chloé’s partner Pokémon is Togedemaru, who’s cute but prickly and gets into territory disputes over electricity. It’s perfect for the Pollen equivalent. I’d also give her a Copperajah because that Pokémon treats looks as a reason to boast. Meowth is a good match for that Pokémon's association with wealth, though, I’d pick specifically the Galarian variant both for the typing and its more aggressive temperament.
Kagami gets Dragon Types, not because of her Miraculous, but because Dragon Type trainers are often really classy and rather prideful, much like Kagami herself. There’s a kind of legacy factor to how many Dragon Type users present themselves, using Dragon Types is basically the Pokémon equivalent of the family trade. Much like with her fencing legacy, Kagami would train Dragon Types with dedication and she’d be incredibly good at it and proud of her accomplishments. A Kommo-o is my number one pick for all of these reasons, since it’s a Dragon/Fighting Type. Garchomp is another strong pick. Salamence and Dragapult are the perfect fit color scheme-wise, while Haxorus is a very classic Dragon. Kommo-o would be the Longg equivalent.
Luka is well matched with Normal Types, because the Normal Type is usually matched with people who have their life figured out, or people who are into cute things. Both of these descriptions are pretty apt for Luka. For the party makeup, a Loudred would be great for its resemblance to an amp. An Ambipom would be fun because it looks like the Pokémon most likely to be able to play an instrument. The Jigglypuff line is great for its pronounced cuteness and connection with the Sing move. I’d love to give him a Drampa for how helpful he is a person, and I think a Drampa would fit the Sass role. An Obstagoon would also be a fun pick, because it’s the punk rock Pokémon and Luka’s style is rather Punk Rock.
Rose would have Fairy Types because this girl has an aesthetic and she’s committed to it. Clefairy is definitely a given, it’s the go-to Fairy Type Pokémon and would serve as Daizzi’s equivalent. Granbull is also a good pick to match her hobby as a member of a punk band. Considering the lyrics of the song she sings in the band, Galarian Rapidash is another way too fitting pick. A Mawile isn’t quite her style but would suit how she’s also not all she seems, how she’s tougher than she looks. The final member of her team would be a Mimikyu because I’m giving Juleka Ghost Types and a Mimikyu is a fun Pokémon to share between the two.
Speaking of Juleka and Ghost Types, the match is obvious; Juleka loves creepy things, so creepy Pokémon would be perfect for her. As I stated in Rose’s segment, Juleka would have a Mimikyu. Mismagius would suit her aesthetic the best, with Sableye being another good aesthetic pick. Sableye would also be good for the Roarr role. Gourgeist would be a fun pick with their similar hairstyles, while Sandygast would be a fun pick for the environmental horror it represents.
For Alix, I’d pick the fiery Fire Type because it works both for her own spunky attitude as well as design-wise. She also has an attitude well-suited for a Fighting Type trainer, so we’ll split the difference with one of my favorite Fire-Fighters, Blaziken. She would also have a Cinderace, because I still remember that interview about Scorbunny’s sporty personality type and that’s just perfect. It would also be a good stand-in for Fluff. I’d also give her a Coalossal because it’s huge but peaceful, so it’s the perfect balance to Alix, who’s small but spunky. Considering her role as the last resort Miraculous user, a Volcarona would also be a good match for her, since Volcarona’s mythology is that it can serve as a substitute sun during extremely cold conditions, a type of savior. Lastly, she’d have a Charizard, because of course she would.
Max would have a Rotom, because Rotom Dex reminds me a bit of Markov in how it looks. Electrode and Magneton are really iconic device Pokémon, so those are good picks for him too and a stoic Magneton would also be haughty enough to fit the Kaalki role. A Heliosk would be a good pick for its compatibility with machines, since it can generate usable electricity. I’d also like to give him a Dracozolt or Artozolt for that “what has science wrought?” factor. Pawmot would be a fitting fighter gamer-like Pokémon for him to have due to its Fighting Typing.
Kim would have Fighting Types. He’s a meathead whose interests include dares and all forms of physical exercise. He’d definitely prefer Pokémon that can keep up with him. He’d have a Hitmon, and I’m tempted to pick Hitmontop for how insane the stat balancing is to get one, which would show off his dedication to his training. He’d also have a Pangoro, which would signify his tendency of falling in with the wrong crowd earlier in the series. Riolu, in turn, would show off his hidden depths of kindness, and Riolu evolving into Lucario would coincide with his development into a kinder person. This duality of his character is also why Scrafty suits him, since it’s a ruffian who’s also protective of its friends and territory. This temperamental Pokémon would also serve as Xuppu. Heracross is the beetle fighting Pokémon, it’s a Pokémon directly tied into a hobby, so it’s a fun pick for Kim.
A fun fact about Ivan: before Luka’s introduction, he was the show’s go-to music guy. He tried to sing his love confession to Mylène. So we need a music-themed Pokémon with the Type to match Ivan. It’s actually the Grass Type that has a lot of music-themed Pokémon, so stuff like Ludicolo, Rillaboom and Maractus would be great. You have big and strong-looking Pokémon and cute Pokémon, since I do also think Ivan would like cute things (like Mylène). I think his team would also fit stuff like Abomasnow, Whimsicott and Dhelmise, with Dhelmise’s surprising strength being the Stompp equivalent.
Mylène is easy: the cutest, tiniest stuff you can find, with something big and scary that’s actually a huge sweetheart. Mylène is also the type to raise Pokémon from an egg/baby, so picking a type with a lot of baby Pokémon makes sense, which is Fairy Type. So, Mylène will have raised a Cleffa, Igglybuff, Togepi, Azurill and Mime Jr. from a baby, with Granbull as the Ivan reference and a Tinkaton as a reference to her own surprising strength.
Nathaniel is a bit on the harder side, since the only real artist Pokémon for the longest time was Smeargle, so I guess we’ll just build a team around Smeargle, aka Normal Types. Snorlax or Ursaring is a go-to tough-looking Normal Type that Nathaniel would pick in order to get taken more seriously as a trainer. A Furfrou might be fun for him to style, along with Cinccino. Finally, Dubwool would be a good reference to Ziggy because of the color scheme.
I’d give Sabrina a Type that compliments Chloé’s steel, due to her basing so much of herself around supporting Chloé. As such, Water and Ground Types would work best to cover the weaknesses of the team I gave to Chloé. I decided to go with Water Type, due to there being some thematically appropriate Pokémon in that Type. Seismitoad is likely to be her ace, due to the powerful dual typing it shares. It’s also extra appropriate cause it kinda looks like it’s wearing a police uniform like her dad. Another thematic pick is Simipour, which is modeled after one of the three wise monkeys, who guide someone on a path to avoiding evil thoughts and deeds. The opposite of this would be a Crawdaunt, who’s a bit of a bully Pokémon, and Sharpedo, who is literally called “The Bully of the Sea”. A Wimpod that evolves into Golisopod, meanwhile, would be a good match for her path of self-discovery and finding her own worth outside of Chloé.
It was hard to settle on a main type for Lila, since I feel she’s too duplicitous to make herself predictable like that. However, she’s also kinda lazy, so she’d go for the easiest options. As such Malamar would suit, as it’s a common Pokémon abused for nefarious deeds. However, considering the effort needed to evolve one, she’d most likely have stolen it instead of training it herself from an Inkay. Both of Malamar’s Types also make sense with Lila’s character, the Dark Type matched Gabriel, who she’s modeling herself after, and Adrien, whose “dark mirror” she appeared to be in her first appearances, while the Psychic Type matched Alya, who many fans noticed parallels with. Then I remembered that Lila has been connected to scorpions on this blog before and thought: “which Type has more dual types with Poison?” and so Dark Type it was. Of course, she gets Drapion, the big mean scorpion in the flesh, but I’ll also match her with an Alolan Muk that she uses to wow people with stories about her “travels”. I also want to give her Scrafty and Houndoom for type coverage against Marinette’s Steel Types, symbolizing how Marinette doesn’t really know how to match Lila in many situations. A Zorua or a Zoroark would be a good a good addition too, to keep the illusion/fox allusions with her character.
I also had a lot of ideas for Gabriel, even though he isn’t a kid, so I'll cover him too. Gabriel would have a Hydreigon, because I associate that Pokémon with absolute scum of the earth abusive dads. He’s very likely to utilize Dark Types in general because he’s an edgelord who calls out “Dark Wings Rise,” as his super transformation tagline. Said Hydreigon would be his ace and it would have a maximum powered Frustration Move, and it would be the Nooroo. Other Pokémon to accompany his Hydreigon ace could include Houndoom (a literal attack dog to match his attack dog parenting), an Obstagoon (because he’s such an obstruction, am I right?) and Morpeko for its two-facedness. A Drapion would also suit his team, due to its intimidating nature, though a Honchkrow would also suit in this role.
Another possible Type for Gabriel to specialize in is Dragons, due to their perceived power and prestige, but I attached those to the Tsurugis and, while I don’t mind the more numerous heroes overlapping, the few villains should have more variety.

No one asked for this but it's living in my head rent free and I'll never have the time to do it so I'm gonna tell all of you about it.
Warrior cats + Pokémon mystery dungeon. I want to call it Warrior Skitties except it they wouldn't all be Skitty, there are plenty of feline Pokémon to go around. Not sure if the different species would be split up into clans or if it would be mixed up; there are some obvious choices for some clans (like Purrloin and Alolan Meowth for shadow clan) but not so much for others (there's no water type cats for river clan unless you count Vaporeon), and I don't know if the starter cats should be allowed. I think only leaders, medicine cats, and the occasional senior warrior would evolve, something about their closeness to star clan. I'd love to play with the way the Pokémon's powers would add to the traditions and rankings within the clan. The fabled tiger and lion clans of ancient history would be the Shinx and Litleo lines even though they are both sort of lions.
The mystery dungeon aspect comes in with pretty much the entire territory outside of their camps being mystery dungeons, having to make your way through them on border and hunting patrols. Bigger dungeons are at the edges of each territory, which discourages trespassing, but your character would get a bonus for being inside your own territory to make it a little easier. The big final dungeon would be taking on an epic journey, like when the cats had to travel long distances to hear messages from star clan or save their clan. There are other Pokémon in the world but most of them are enemies or prey. It would be a little more morbid than your typical mystery dungeon game because instead of recruiting members from the dungeons, you'd be bringing them back as prey for the clan. Instead, you would recruit members within your clan and occasionally at gatherings or after a battle between clans if you're lucky. (Edit: you could recruit members of enemy species in the post game or during special episodes. They would be like Midnight the badger; rare occurrences who aren't hostile. Also in the post-post game, you cold become the leader of your clan, which would open it up further.)
The beginning would involve a quiz that sorts you into your clan and helps you pick your character and partner. Through the tutorial, you would be an apprentice who is being assessed before you receive your warrior name. I'd like to add a social stat that would allow you to build relationships with your clan mates and recruit them to your team in the form of your/your partner's apprentice and warriors who believe in you and like to take patrols with you.

Pokemon Card of the Day #3066: Alolan Meowth (Lost Thunder)
Tumblr media
Another day, another evolving Basic. This one only worked if going second, and only on the first turn, but getting solid damage in for no Energy on the first turn was nothing to take lightly. It could potentially set up for an important KO down the line if paired with the right Pokemon. There were also a lot of games where this wasn't so useful, and if you didn't go second it was pretty useless, meaning not every deck was going to want it. It was certainly a role that wasn't going to see much competition, so Alolan Meowth was guaranteed to have some sort of value.
60 HP was low, and it was pretty common to give up a Prize when using this after getting the hit off. The did need to be planned for when building with this, as making sure it didn't help the opponent's Prize route too often was important. A Fighting Weakness could occasionally matter since Buzzwole existed, but otherwise wasn't the biggest deal due to the low HP. This also meant that the Psychic Resistance rarely changed much. The Retreat Cost was 1 here, so it could be switched out, with the note that its attack didn't require any and you'd therefore only use the Energy for retreating.
Spoil the Fun cost no Energy, but only did 10 damage... most of the time. If you did go second and this was your first turn, the attack did 60 more, and 70 damage while also being able to use an Energy to attach to something for attacking later was quite cool. If using Alolan Persian, this was the Meowth to go for as sometimes you could get a free hit in. Otherwise, it probably wasn't enough unless you really wanted to go second anyway, which most didn't really go for. There was also an argument for using this late in the UPR-On format, as even if you didn't get the hit off you could use this to fill the Bench to power up Eternatus VMAX.
Alolan Meowth was capable of setting up for a later KO sometimes. The fact that it was only available when going second, along with usually giving up a Prize in response, left it generally to decks that could find other uses for it like evolving or powering up another Pokemon. If the math looked good enough for your deck, you could really use it anywhere since it needed no Energy. This meant that options were always there for some interesting deck building, even if it only occasionally made the cut.

I've basically just had the idea of making different Eurovision artists Pokémon teams but I can't draw and I'm putting my idea out there incase anyone would like to draw this. I will also give a bit of my thought process for each team. I may end up adding more later on as I think of more teams for people. You will be able to see which ones I put the most thought into.
Nemo:
Milotic, oricorio pa,u style, plusle, whismur, delcatty, mew.
For oricorio it reminded me of their outfit at Eurovision. I couldn't think of any clownfish Pokémon so I picked milotic because in gen 3 you you need to max out it's beauty stat for contests to evolve feebas into milotic and that somehow reminds me of how Nemo dresses how they want to. Plusle pairs with someone else. Whismur is a sound based Pokémon. I tried giving everyone a mythical which suited them and I thought mew suited Nemo the best.
Silvester:
Togekiss, servine, sylveon, ribombee, minun, jirachi
I got the idea for servine from the music video for tyliai, tyliai. I just thought a bunch of fairy types suited him. Mínum pairs with plusle. Jirachi was the mythical I thought suited him best.
Bambie:
Absol, alteria, duskull, grimmsnarl, gothitelle, marshadow
Absol is a misunderstood Pokémon, people believe to causes disasters but it actually earns them of the incoming disasters. Grimmsnarl is just here because of it's typing of dark/fairy which I think suits Bambie well, they are a sweet person but people view them differently because of their music and the way they dress. That is also the reason for a mix of cute Pokémon and I don't know how describe the rest. I think gothitelle suits their vibe. I'm just going to stop with explaining the mythicals, I just thought it was the best mythical for them.
Luke:
Crawdaunt, greavard, rotom, hypno, musharna, shaymin
These were much simpler thought processes. Crawdaunt=lobster. Greavard because small cute dog that fits his vibe and I don't think there are any pug Pokémon. Rotom because of his song glitch. Hypno and musharna because they are to do with sleep.
Baby lasagna:
Luxray, meowscarada, litten, meowstic (male), meowstic (female), toxtricity.
Cats and cool Pokémon that uses it's chest as a guitar. It is as simple as that. That's the thought process. Later thought, other Pokémon that could fit are miltank, tauros, the mareep line and mudsdale.
Jure maček:
Skitty, espurr, liepard, Persian, glameow, rilaboom.
Cats and a drummer. I don't think my thought process could be simpler here.
(First update)
Nace Jordan:
Gengar, lilligant, noivern, dachsbun, chikorita, sandshrew.
He likes gengar. Dachsbun reminds me of his dog, I'm sorry I can't remember the name. There aren't any Pokémon that play bass so he got a different music based Pokémon. All of joker out have a Pokémon linked to what they do in the band except nace. Lilligant pairs with a Pokémon I gave to someone else. Yes I will keep giving people 2 Pokémon that are eachothers counterparts. I don't know why I picked sandshrew, it kind fits his vibe.
Kaarija:
Bulbasaur, zorua, riolu, buizel, spheal, bagon
I don't think bulbasaur needs to be explained. These are all Pokémon I think are cute and evolve into Pokémon that are cool and rather strong. I got the idea for the rest of the team from bulbasaur.
Filip Baloš:
Alolan meowth, smeargle, grafaiai, kickitune, leavanny, arboliva
Meowth is here because he has a cat. Smeargle is a painter like him. Grafaiai is the only other art related Pokémon. Kickitune, arboliva and leavanny are all Pokémon that artist characters use within the games.

Note
could we potentially split up the regional variants that change the whole line from the regular forms of Pokémon? like separating the alolan, Galarian, and kantonian meowth lines
I considered it, but ultimately decided that it would be redundant, especially for a line like Meowth where I would be posting 3 polls for the same Pokemon.
I also felt like it would be unfair to do it for regional forms and not for some of the more standard forms (eg. Unown A-!) or for those that only have one stage that’s different (Raichu or Mr. Mime).

SHIT I forgot I should do one of those pinned posts explaining who I am. i mean probably i kinda like the mystery but eh whatever.
im Basil. unovan. she/her. Hex Maniac "curse fanatic" by circumstance.
blog title source - personal curse tracker
I've got Toothpaste, he's a shiny Obstagoon and my baby boy; Thyme, that Dusknoir, my uncle; Jupetta, a Banette, Thyme's Pokemon before he turned into a Dusknoir.
There's also Skorna, the bone Runerigus. She's just a pest.
Deckard, a white-furred Zorua (NOT HISUIAN) i found in my backyard. He's baby
Mint, a Sneasel I got as a gift from a friend of mine 💜 she's very bity
I've also got a new Poryphone named Porypory. it speaks in pink, is very polite.
oh and the 19 shuppet from the halloween party
... And Bluebell! An Alolan Meowth I found in the dumpster in Alola. She's a million years old and the sweetest cat in the world
image of thyme here
image of skorna here
image of toothpaste here (also me)
image of jupetta (mostly toothpaste tho)
image of deckard (and also me)
image of mint (and my arm)
this weird breloom someone let loose outside my house??
Tumblr media
> ooc notes under the cut
9/15/23 updated her 'main' image to be more in line with how i draw her
subscribed blogs only dash (I'm really just putting this here for myself but if y'all need it idm)
my other pokeirl blogs are @crossbones-n-skull and @nifuunbakufuun!
join the hex maniac discord server! more info (kinda) in linked tumblr post. if the link is dead lmk ill fix it (discord added a thirty day link cap)
basil's cousin, sage, is over at @sage-the-exorcist (run by my friend, statik!) she currently has him blocked (its not working)
additional facts for my own reference:
skorna speaks in orange.
thyme speaks in green.
porypory speaks in pink.
jupetta, toothpaste, and deckard don't speak through the blog. (however, if given voice through an event, their text will be colored as seen.)
two voice claims that i'm debating (but i take suggestions)
family bibliography (books)
loose timeline
view the blog in chronological order here! (bear in mind there is quite a lot. lol)
Basil is 26 (as of nov 1st 2024). I'm (the mod) 20.
she lives in the woods around icirrus city, in an old house that she just... took. it was abandoned so what about it its hers now
thyme the dusknoir is her uncle. he did not die naturally.
jupetta the banette was her uncle's, but technically is hers now. she inexplicably knows Teleport.
skorna the runerigus isn't kept to a Pokeball, as she and Basil are literally bound to each other through possession bullshit.
back when thyme was alive, they did a LOT of travelling. she's primarily been to galar and kalos, but have stopped in every region at least once. only place they haven't been to is paldea, and that's because thyme isn't allowed in because he tried to go in the crater
thyme had a TV show.
mun is aromantic, but Basil is bisexual with a female lean

if anyone ever wants to plot anything, feel free to dm me! I'm always down, could be fun. I just don't do "in-person" RP on Tumblr- this is strictly a social media site for the character. update- i will rarely do off-rotumblr RP, but it is not going to be frequent. all threads will be completely under readmores
note that, while Basil most likely won't be super active in high-stakes plotlines, i might have her react to some, especially if i find them interesting. she's no main character.
if you want your character to know basil out-of-rotumblr, feel free to DM me here on tumblr! my PMs, unless specified are an ooc-only zone and im always happy to chat about rp.
(however, please keep in mind that i'm really not one for small talk that doesn't have to do with rp; i have too many bad experiences with people befriending me in my PMs and then just offloading trauma. i don't shut the fuck up in discord servers where other people are though lmao.)
on that note, i do have a discord! if you wanna invite me to any servers feel free to pm me about that too!

What kinds of pokemon do the grunts of each past and present Yonko crew have?
I want to see the pokemon of people besides the big players 😅
For the Yonko's crews, the grunts have their own individual teams based on preference. Generally the higher up you are, the better Pokemon you have. Of course each crew has some Pokemon that are popular among the crews. Some mimicking their higher up idols.
Big Mom: Well you've got the food based Pokemon of course. You'll commonly see these Pokemon and their evolutions. Combee, Exeggcute, Swirlix, the elemental monkeys, Pumpkaboo, Milcery, Fidough, Smoliv and Nacli. Pokemon good at finding food are popular too like Swinub, Skovet, Lillipup and Lechonk lines.
Kaido: This crews aim is to get dragon types and fossil Pokemon. Obtaining one of these can lead to a promotion. Cyclizar and Tatsugiri are the two dragons types commonly found amongst grunt level. Kaido ate the Gyarados fruit so you get a lot of cred if raise a Magikarp into a mighty, trained Gyarados. Horned Pokemon are popular too to fit the fashion such as - Nidorans, Rhyhorn, Gastrodon (west), Venipede and Skiddo. Black Maria fans has Spinarak's. Who's Who fans have cats like Meowth and Skitty.
Whitebeard Pirates: Much more varied on Pokemon than the previous two crews. Rare Pokemon weren't taken and given to higher ups. Catch it, it's yours. They liked to catch Pokemon with moustaches to tease Whitebeard. They would have annual contests for Pokemon with the best moustache. Common entries - Alolan Rattata, Kadabra/ Alakazam, Alolan Golem, Sealo, Kricketune, Herdier/Stoutland, Mienshao, Jillicent, Drampa, Thievul, Mr. Rime and Mabosstiff.
Red-Haired Pirates: Shanks encourages his crew to have at least one Pokemon good with water. Seems sensible for a pirate right? Most common are - Seaking, Floatzel, Wishiwashi, Lanturn, Azumarill, Swanna and Mantine.
Buggy: Pokemon with red noses or feature a red ball shape are common to celebrate their dashing Captain's glorious nose. Such as - Diglett, Ampharos, Nosepass, Spoink, Bidoof, Mime Jr. and Minior (red core.) Plusle and Minun are also popular to cheer on their Captain.
Blackbeard: He wants rare and powerful. For grunts to get anywhere they need Pokemon that can steal and kill. Such as - Arbok, Persserker, Skuntank, Tentacruel, Paldean Tauros, Houndoom, Sharpedo, Liepard, Excadrill, Basculin, Galarian Stunfisk, Honedge, Thievul and Barraskewda. Slugma are bred to burn down ships. Grunts will often leave them to drown.

i am going insane. woe my hyperfixation amalgamation be upon ye now and forever (yes. pokemon team posts part 1)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
now. ive explained norton before but i wanna revise it and sound more legit/put together than i did when i flung this at mach speeds to my friend gold BUT
first off. the toxtricity. as i've said sooo many times norton's born and raised in spikemuth, and he takes pride in it. despite the rundown/dilipadated appearance, the locals are still upbeat and lively, and piers keeps it all kicking. norton has a lot of respect for piers as well-- despite how he's a gym leader, he's in the same situation as the rest of spikemuth, and he's super fair about everything he does. i think while norton was younger he'd help out in the ways he fan. maybe he babysat marnie from time to time! but basically, he holds a lot of pride in his hometown and he has an equal amount of respect for piers despite being older than him (i see piers as about 25 to nortons 28), and he likes showing off what he takes pride in! toxtricities appear to charge attacks by strumming the chords on their chest, resembling the motion one would make playing a guitar :] i decided on the high-amp form since norton is fairly competitive during the battles themself (though he recovers from losses with a lot of grace. its pretty much a hobby to him so he doesnt get too worked up) and also, toxtricity tend to be somewhat arrogant as norton can be :]
ok. okay so. meowth/perrserker. i know the fandom didnt recieve this line very well (i wasnt too fond of it either) but. listen okay. meowth are generally known for collecting coins. the galarian meowth are specifically tougher due to being seafaring companions, and kantonian meowth dont get along with thwm. alolan meowths, who are used to luxurious lifestyles, also don't get along with their galarian counterparts, despite being the same species with little differences. perrserkers also enjoy battles and are competitive :]
corviknight is. kind of a stretch but bear with me. i gave him a rookidee originally for the sake of the new fool's gold accessory for this season, the broken cage, since rookidees have yellow feathers similar to canaries. also as an offhand reference to leave the mines. the corviknight itself symbolizes wanting a change of pace/scenery/environment for similar reasons, since in galar, corviknights are a means of transportation (one of the only ones other than trains or bikes if you dont want to walk) and they can go wherever its desired to.
barboach are cavefish that are local to the galar mines! overall the line just felt fitting </3 ive not much to say on it
the wimpod...... the wimpod is so very dear to me. little bug that scurries around his feet. they're cowardly and also native to galar mines, and i imagine he shooed away some other pokemon that were harrassing it (stunfisk perhaps) and afterwards the wimpod kind of just. followed him around the rest of the day so he caught it. he hypes it up so much and is very encouraging towards it, and it becomes his ace pokemon once it evolved to a golisopod :3
as for the boldore, he's had it since he was a kid. as a roggenrola, it was one of the only things his dad had gotten norton before his death, and norton bonded with it quite easily. despite not wanting to be a rock type specialist like the other workers, he's very attached to it!! overall, he cares a lot about his pokemon and you can really tell how much he loves them and how proud of them he is. he's one of the (arguably) few people who fully realizes how important pokemon are, and how much they've helped shape society since he'd never been someone to take anything for granted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
orpheus deross..... thw only person who could rival bede's bastardness.......
honestly, i wasn't sure what to do with him. i just knew he should be a dragon type trainer because it'd be funny for frederick's fairy type ass to mop the floor wjth him immediately. however! there is reasoning for some of them. actually really just the appletun. norton gives him an applin and he decided to keep it with him + evolve it. also, i think noivern's personality is somewhat like norton's so it'd be funny if orpheus told norton he reminded him of his pokemon once or twice
