Tim Drake is canonly bi and he has a boyfriend. People ship him with his ex girlfriend. Both of those ships are completely fine, I think timbern is cute and I don't ship timsteph but I get they were together a while and people like them.

That being said I made a poll to see which Tim ship is most popular (I enjoy seeing what people think yk, it's entertaining) and Steph was one of the options but so was Bernard and someone rebloged it saying if timsteph didn't win it would be misogyny?

Neither of them are winning btw lol, connor is which is its own weirdly controversial thing

The thing is-

Timsteph isn't a bad ship. They were together a while, they were cute. Lots of people grew up with timsteph and like them.

Timbern isn't a bad ship. Just because Tim's dating a guy now doesn't mean he hates Steph or anything, he just moved on (and so did Steph!) and he's bisexual, he isn't just suddenly gay. They're cute too, and it's nice to see representation.

Timkon also isn't a bad ship. They're close friends which is the base to a good relationship, if they got together it'd also be good.

You know what is a bad ship? Tim and Jason. Or Damian, or Dick, or Bruce. And yet I see more people mad about shipping Tim with his boyfriend or his ex girlfriend or his best friend than I see people mad about shipping him with his siblings and his dad.

hi lmao. Thanks xD. I usually try to keep all my negativity off of the internet, but last night I was going the anti Tim drake tag bc my frustration was flaring up. At first i was collecting posts by liking them instead of rb, then I was replying, and then at some point... “Fuck it. I want this on my blog.”

(This is gonna be a ramble btw, I don’t care abt making a good post rn.)

I used to be fine with Tim! I think the whole thing was a lot less prominent in the dpxdc fandom bc DANNY was the fan favorite/community elected woobie, but then I kinda moved out and... well. It still took awhile for this issue to seep in bc those Tim fans (you know the ones) are certainly a minority, but I just don’t think you can be a Damian fan for longer than a few months without getting frustrated.

Nowadays I refuse to read anything tagged with any variation of “Tim Drake angst” that features the batfam. Timkon fics are usually just fine though.

Actually— recently? Shit’s been bothering me so bad that I don’t wanna risk reading fics that have Tim in the first relationship tag at all. He’s gotta at most be in the second one. Ship fics are again an exception, but I don’t tend to seek out ship fics much anyway.

But, like I said, I usually keep it to myself. Every time i catch myself venting in the tags I either screenshot the tags and delete, or I delete and retype them. I put them into a private notes document. I also journal in there a lot instead of posting it.

That document is pretty long.

I do wanna say that there’s nothing wrong with what tim fans are doing. It is fun to woobify your fave. It’s fun to prop them up and tear others down and make everything about your blorbo and it is harmless. I do it too (usually in my daydreams). It’s a fantasy, and that’s what fanfiction is for. People who act like it’s “problematic” are wrong. That doesn’t mean it’s not annoying. Because it is. It’s annoying as all fuck.

Also wanna mention that I once read a damian fic that like... started off with some delicious whump, but then it turned into a whole Damian pity party and it guilt tripped all his friends and family. Damian IS my blorbo and I couldn’t read that. I didn’t even know who Maps was at the time but it seemed so bizarre to throw her under the bus. Anyway I feel like that’s what a quite large portion of Tim fic is like except a bit less extreme.

I used to tell myself that “ohhh it’s just a rivalry. I’m sure Tim fans get the same shit in reverse all the time” but I literally NEVER see it in the other direction and spend the most of my time in Damian circles. The only time I see tim hate from damian fans is frustration at those particular fans in response to it or in response to favoritism of authors.

I mean i saw a good chunk of it last night, but what else can I expect from the anti tim drake tag?

It’s actually funny how most of the stuff in anti tags is polarized hate shitting on the character with a lot of bad takes, but in tims anti tag it was almost exclusively frustration from Damian and Jason fans, and usually pretty mild takes. Also people calling Tim boring.

Ngl, Idk much about Jason. I’m familiar with his fanon, but the only comic i’ve read that featured him in a major way was Gotham War. I don’t know him well, and I don’t have too much interest in him. However, I hate “Jason falls over in guilt and kisses Tim’s fingers begging for forgiveness” type posts in solidarity. It’s yucky.

ooohhh this is gonna be a mess because i love him so much i have an inability to verbalize my thoughts on him but lets go

first impression: it wasnt...great? i havent been seriously into comics for as long as you might think so regrettably my first introduction to him was that robins mini-series that came out a couple years ago. i liked him a very surface level amount but that comic really doesnt do anyone justice so lmao

impression now: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH /pos. he has his issues. im aware he has his issues. hes the object of many peoples hate and fair enough. but i feel like what a lot of people do is go "oh he has some pretty sexist plotlines actually" and dont read deeper into him (which. i totally get that) but he has some really good content outside of...well. dixon. (not to say dixons tim stuff is all bad. theres some real gems! and he was pretty influential to tims character! but hes also...dixon)

favorite moment: ohhh thats hard. im a big fan of his red robin depression spiral because i can...regrettably see myself in a lot of those kinds of actions. a more lighthearted answer would be the scene where he finds out steph is pregnant and thinks its his despite having not slept together because...he doesnt know how pregnancy works idk. it was funny

idea for a story: his relationship with death should be explored more i think. there were a couple really good stories about this pre-flashpoint but since then i havent seen any that explore it up to my (admittedly high) standards. tim exists because of death. on the brighter side holy shit let him explore his queerness in more depth. his coming out was underwhelming but cute. i enjoyed it. i love bernard. but what i think is going to happen is that theyre going to keep tim and bernard together for much longer than they should. timber is adorable and ill definitely be sad when they break up but i want tim to be able to explore his queerness much deeper than...ill call it the heartstopper treatment (NOT HATING ON HEARTSTOPPER BTW. i love heartstoppers...happiness. its just not something i want to see from tim, famed haver of messy romances)

unpopular opinion: oh boy. uh. the tim fandom in general pisses me off. i think he would shotgun a bang not coffee. also hes a lot less tech savvy than everyone thinks he is. yeah hes good with tech but a lot of the time fandom likes to portray him as on par with babs which is just not true

favorite relationship: romantically? timsteph! theyre super interesting to me. im also a fan of timkon but not as fiercely as a lot of other tim fans lmao. i also think his relationship with his dad vs bruce is very interesting but the fandom overexagerates it a lot. oh and also him force inserting himself as helenas weird little brother during cry of huntress

So I wrote this excerpt:

Disclaimer: I'm not proud of it. Or at myself for even caring for such a trashy offensive show as Gotham. But here I am.

City renovations. Important meetings. A lot of papperwork. Murder plans. All things considered, and by that Oswald meant the stupid bitch who had bewiched Ed, the day was going pretty normal. So of course something had to happen.

This time "something" came in the form of the random teenager he found inside his officer. Sitting in the mayor chair. His chair. He was going to make sure his security team paid in blood for such a pathetic mistake. How his numerous enemys hadn't tried to murder him - or worse tried to weaken him by attacking Ed - when his security was commiting such a pathetic and amateur mistake was a wonder.

"Good afternoon, Mister Mayor, enjoyed your lunch break?"

The audacity.

"Who the fuck are you and why do you think that you can't just wonder around with no repercurssions?"

Not his best attempt of intimidation, but he didn't need to make a good job, surely the boy must know he is a dangerous man.

"Oh. Forgive my manners." The kid looked genuinaly embarrassed, worse he extended his hand. Was these a vivid hallucination? He was having some of those after Arkham, but they usually made nightmarish sense, these was just ridiculous. "My name is Tim Drake, it's a pleasure to meet you."

He sounded genuine? Who the fuck was these kid? Tim Drake. Tim Drake. The name didn't ring a bell. If it even was his true name. Should he kill the boy now? No, much negative media. Maybe he could entertain him, try to gatter some usefull information.

"Oswald Coobleppot" He shaked the boys hand. Maybe-Tim beamed. "Can't exactly say the same."

"I understand." The boy, Tim, said suddently serius. "If it's worth something my original plan was to simply schedule a meeting."

It really didn't. But he noded as if it did.

"Oh?"

"But I was afraid you woudn't listen to me or that it would take too long and it really coudn't wait. Besides with all due respect your security sucks."

That is it. He wasn't going to murder his chief of security anymore, he was going to make the man wish he was dead instead.

"Don't you say?"

"Yeah. I basically just observed their morning pattern, lied a bit and that was it. The woman on the front dest was the worse, she basically just let me in. Worse secretary ever."

Oh? The secretary was going to be the first to go. Not a single person would ever be able to find the body.

"Why exactly are you here, child?"

"It's about Ms. Dupont"

"Who?"

"Issabella Dupont, the librarian?"

Of course! Of course it was about thay stupid thorn on his side. Was the woman truly a spy send to destroy him? Was the kid really just a hallucination and that was the nightmare turn?

"And what about the librarian exactally made such a important subject that you decided to do these little impronptu visit?"

"Why, because you are planning on killing her of course."

On one hand there was no reason anyone, including his enemies, would find about his assassination plans. For all they knew the woman was just a nobody. So points for the hallucination theory, though why would his mind be conjuring a whole person stop the act was beyond him. On the other hand maybe his infatuacion with Nygma was not as secret as he though and someone had connected the dots way to well. Either way it was bad news.

"Now, now, boy, are you aware that you are entering in a very dangerous territory rigth now?"

That was a treat! Way better than the first one.

"I'm aware. But I think is worth the risk. Will you listen to me?"

He doesn't think his answer will matter much to Possibly-Tim. If he wans to keep his position he cannot kill the child and he has the impression that if he sends the boy away he will just trick his security again. Besides he isn't sure that the kid is real and that is a can of worms he is not ready to open rigth now. Still he is very tempeted in saying "no", curious to see how exactally will the Maybe-Real-Tim will react to the negative. But alas he nods. Tilting his head expectantly.

The boy takes something of his coat and for a terrifing second Oswald thinks he calculated wrong and the kid is truly there to kill him. But it isn't a gun. No the boy has a folder. A big folder. He raises a eyebrown. The boy flushes. The ridiculousness of the situacion is closing on them again.

"I made a folder." Suposidly-Tim sounds really young and really happy with himself.  "With all my arguments, including a very detailed ten page list of all the reasons killing her would be counterproductive to you in particular."

The ridiculouness of everything is way to close.

"Why do you even care if I kill her?"

He shoud've asked before. Honestly that seems like a big point in favor of whoever the hell Tim is.  The boy open his mouth to answer. Stops as if rethinking what he was going to say.

"She is a good librarian."

"I'm sure she isn't the only good librarian in Gotham."

"Yes. But..." He stops. Shakes his head. "Fuck it." It's a murmur. A resolution under his breath. "I'll be honest here. I'm doing that because I can. Because I see inocent people die all the time and there is nothing I can do to stop it. So if I can do something, if I can stop even one death, even if it's just a maybe, a risky gamble, why shoudn't I?"

It's absurd. Ridiculous to a point that brings it all back to reality because no fiction could ever match. Everything the kid said sounds childish, foolish beyond comprehesion and he has no choice but to believe Tim is being honest.  Gordon would have loved the boy. He isn't Gordon. He wants to laugh, to pretend he cares and send the kid alway, a small absurd part of him even thinks about killing the kid and by it preserving this stupid inocence that will for sure fade with age. Listen to him is the last thing he should do, the last thing he wants to do. But there's something about the kid, something in the look in his eyes and the stupid fucking file on his hands that stops him. He barely registers his own comand for Tim to keep going. To try and change his mind. That's a dare somewhere in these encounter  but it doesn't even matter, deep down he knows he already lost. It doesn't anger him as much as it should.

Stupid fanfic idea:

Gotham TV Show, except for some reason there is these seven strange people there changing cannon events.

We have the misterious young neighboor to the Waynes, ten yeara old, Damian Al Ghurl.

Harvey Dent new junior aprendice, fifteen years old Tim Drake.

These troubled minor who should not be working as a bartender, sixteen years old Stephanie Brown.

The newbie cop that Loeb hoped would help make Gordon quit but just turned up to be more troube, tweenty five years old Dick Grayson.

Urban legend, murderous vigilant with a Robin Hoodeske carrear, Jason Todd.

And a kid who helped other metahuman orphan childrem escape a metahuman trafic ring and it's trying to end metahuman traffic in Gotham by himself, fourteen years old Duke Thomas.

All of these people feel that it's something weird about them, something wrong with their memories and that they should be somewhere else, be someone else, but they can't escape Gotham and it's games and the conections they made. So they play their parts. All of them feel like they should know each other even before they knew each other but they didn't. And the only other thing they have in common: all of them are connected with the case of a missing girl called Cassandra Cain.

In another dimension, a bat tries to find and rescue his missing children.

I just gotta ask who you ship for Tim if you love Timber and Konbart. I mean absolutely no disrespect or shade for any of those ships but Timkon is so popular and weighty it's one of those things where if you don't ship it you either are homophobic (I know your not) or you just don't like one or both of the characters so I am just curious. :) btw I started shipping Konbart so I really mean no hate.

Hi and thanks for the ask and welcome to this small-ish corner. First off, I do ship Timkon and that is something I know I have stated many times here. I have been shipping them for about 15 years. It's a dream ship and I love it dearly.

But you're right, I do ship Tim with multiple other people and like to imagine multiple scenarios and alternative universes where Tim is thriving and happy (sometimes not happy, I'll get to that with one ship here in a moment). It never just has to be one person forever. I feel it's boring and restrictive to only ship one pairing when there are so many great options. Tim has a lot of great options. Some with actual contextual canon evidence and some... not.

I ship him with;

Bernard, Kon, Bart (also in a polycule with some or all), Steph, Tam, Jaime (sometimes), and Slo-Bo primarily.

Lately I have been really digging him and Slo-Bo. It's tragic and Slo-Bo checks off some of the boxes for how I perceive Tim's tastes and compatibility in people.

They have to have a mix of;

Chaos Irreverence and Dumbass

If they have at least two of these traits then Tim is going to have a good match. 'Bo has all of those traits and there are some very mild moments in the comics that show that they could work well together, even if it would be doomed.

Finally I don't feel like you need to be homophobic or have an extreme disliking of characters in order to not ship them - yes there are some people out there like that but sometimes people just don't vibe with a ship. Even canon ones. It's okay to just not like a ship and not have a reason. To just assume someone is homophobic because they are not a fan of a MLM or WLW ship is very toxic behavior.

Tim Drake's Robin Costume Rant

Okay. Like I know this has been happening for a long time now but can we talk about Tim Drake's Black and Red Robin Costume? The kid made it specifically to honour his best friend Kon(Superboy) after he died.

But I keep seeing Dick Grayson and Jason Todd wearing it in movies even though it's specifically made for Tim. I'm actually pretty pissed. Like that costume has meaning and a story behind it and they decide to give it to the previous Robins?! Oh my gosh! It's like that one thing that I'm peeved about when I see the Young Justice Cartoon(which btw I'm also pretty peeved about cause it doesn't even feature the beautiful relationship that is the Core Four but it's still a good show) and Under the Red Hood(also very good) movie. I can't help it like does anyone think this as well? Does anyone feel me? Or am I just being picky?

Cause they were able to give Damian a Robin costume that has pants and is still the original colour scheme of the Robins and I'm pretty sure Tim has a Robin costume as well that follows the original colour scheme.

Why can't the animators do the same for Dick and Jason if they were so ashamed of putting them in a Leotard. The comics had no problems and yeah the Red and Black Robin costume is iconic but it's still made for Tim. It's still Superboy's colours!

This is NOT all about everyone but I have seen 3 types of Tim/Steph fan, 1- those people who hate Tim but still shipping them and saying Tim's team and friends should be all Steph's and then she should treat him bad. 2- People who wants to date Tim and saying he is hot so they relate to Steph(these are mostly grown ass women btw) and 3- the people who are calling everyone misogynistic and hating on mlm ships because of their het ship, and making shit posts about other ships and characters

I’ve also seen people say that because Tim isn’t gay in every ship that it’s homophobia.

I’ve also seen people fetishize how Tim would be a twink by turning him into what looks like a little girl.

There’s also been people I seen who turns Tim into a stereotypical nagging girl personality who constantly needs saved and simply needs a banging to feel better.

So before too many people get pissed. I wanna say that just because there’s annoying people in a shipping fandom. You shouldn’t be too worked up and feel bad for your ship, because there’s toxic people in every ship.

I mostly just described JayTim shippers there, which I think most people agree is pretty nasty despite being popular,

but you get the idea.

You aren’t the fandom at large, and you shouldn’t feel bad because worse people are making your ship seem bad.

It just so happens the TimSteph toxic people are shining their bright light into people’s eyes to spread the message of the ship for some reason.

I’m tired of people lying about them to make them seem better, I mean mostly just to glorify Steph but still.

Midnight Circus by Erin Morgenstern! It mashes a lot of stuff that I really love and don’t get enough of together. History, real magic being hidden in plain sight, ofc the tragic love story, and there’s also some gay shit in there as a bonus~ Each character is written super individualistic too.

The Book of Lost Things by John Conolly is really good too! It mixes up old-syle fairy tales (the real, gruesome kind) all together, along with history and was very interesting!
