“whats today” asked Leah’s strong Milton Keynes accent behind a digital film camera. You looked up and smiled at her camera.

“It’s media day!” You softly said, voice still horse, still half asleep and leaning at the kitchen bench with your girlfriend, she was going to put a bunch of captured videos from every six months on a video for her instagram. It was a new goal of hers. The idea made your heart melt.

Some days she would just set it up as you two spent time together. If you were travelling and watching the sunset on the beach with Leah as an example, she would set the camera up behind the two of you cuddling and looking out.

Other times she would film you and your friends being silly in the gym, or videos of you and your dogs.

Later, Leah drove the two of you to the training grounds. Both with hair neat and light makeup on, ready to film some media.

Most of you girls didn’t mind these days, some hated, but you found it so much fun. Leah filmed you as you skipped through the entrance and down the hauls, the blonde chuckling behind you. You turned around and winked for the camera before you ran into Beth and Steph coming up the other way,

“Hello!” Beth said hugging you. You hugged her tightly before doing the same to Steph.

“You’re after Caitlin and Jen. You have to do another game for a video this one is more fun than the last one trust me” Beth said to you two, letting you know what the first media duty was, also reminding you at how bad you were at the last challenge you filmed was.

When you stepped into the area with many cameras and back drops for shoots set up, you girlfriend was immediately peeled away from you to go take some photos in the new training tracksuit set. Claiming they didn’t have enough content for the particular set.

You were sitting on one of the lounges scrolling through instagram as you noticed Jen come up to you with a microphone “y/n!” The tall brunette exclaimed. “Mind if I sit?” She asked pointing to the spot on the couch next to you.

“Of course Jenny” you smiled moving your legs that were laying there, before putting them back on top of Jen’s lap so they could lay there once again.

“Oh ok” Jen and you giggled as you relaxed back into the couch with you legs resting over her lap. “Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?”

“Hit me” you said smiling at the camera

“I went over to grab a cookie from the snack table. And Caitlin foord had informed me that you had eaten the entire bowl of cookies? Can you confirm or deny?” She asked you

“What!” You laughed. “Caitlin not fair!” You yelled across the indoor area as the girl poked her tongue at you. “Deny. She ate most of them I had two!” You said looking into the camera, getting louder at the last part so the brunette across the room could hear.

“Rumour confirmed. Now who do you think looks the best in the new home kit?” Jen said smirking, motioning towards her chest as she was wearing the said kit.

“I think it really suits me im not gonna lie…..” you grinned “But best might have to be Jen Beattie” you shrugged, you high-fived her before you noticed a blonde with her arms folded glaring at both of you.

“I didn’t see you come through the door” you smiled at Leah, patting the spot next to you so she could sit.

“Jen best dressed in home kit?” She questioned towards the camera.

“Yes-“ Jen said proudly

“No! It’s a tie!” You grinned

“Mm sure” Leah said

“Ok one final question and Leah you can answer this too. Any pre game traditions you have together? Like as a couple?”

“Well Leah Can’t cook so I end up cooking pasta. I feel like when you ask a footballer their night-before meal they all say this. But it’s seriously you know, good carbs for the following game day” you said into your microphone to Jen and the Camera

“I can cook some things” Leah said

“Let’s be real here Leah, I don’t even live with you and I know this” Jen laughed, making Leah pout cutely at the camera

“You make great weetabix darling” you said rubbing her shoulder in sympathy causing her to upside-down smile at you.

“And there you have it let’s find our next guest” Jen’s voice trailed off, leaving the couch as the camera man followed her and the mic.

Leah pulled you into her embrace on the couch, you now completely collapsed on top of her. “I’m already tired” your girlfriend huffed below you.

“let’s get you a coffee I was about to get one” you said getting up to head towards the snack table containing a coffee machine just to your luck.

“Yuck no thanks” said the non-coffee drinker.

“Um Martinelli, Tomiyaso, Saka!” You clapped after quickly finishing “did I have to say full names?” You asked the people behind the camera who shook their heads.

“Dang that was quick good job sweets. Okay my turn now I’m gonna beat your time” Leah said.

“Oh god good luck. Three countries that speak Spanish off you go” you read as her 5 seconds started

“Shit um Spain, El Salvador and”

“1..��� you counted down

“Mexico” she smiled proudly finishing her answer in less than a second. “That was an easier question than you think”

“I’m shit at Geography” you shrugged to the camera

“Ok y/l/n your second is name three shades of red” she smiled reading, knowing you most likely wouldn’t get this.

“Is red one-“ you questioned

“Time starts go!”

“I don’t know any! Um plain red and… oh pink is one right” you exclaimed

“Bowbow! Times up. And I don’t think Plain red counts, nor pink” she laughed

“Surely” you mumbled crossing you arms. The camera started recording as you were given the next card. “For your final question Leah, three fake blondes on the Arsenal team” you giggled reading out your card.

“Oh my god that’s funny um shit Beth, Laura and also oh wait no she’s not…and Chloe!”

“Time! You didn’t get the last one in time!” You argued

“I so did!” She exclaimed

“Nope”

“I did but whatever then you just cannot handle losing” she said, receiving a glare from you. “Ok for the final question of today for lucky y/n here. Name three country songs starting with L”

“What! Not fair”

“Ready?”

“Absolutely not!

“Okay three two one start!” She exclaimed, studying your face as your face scrunched up in thought.

“Love you anyway Luke combs, lovin on you and like a wrecking ball by Eric Church” you yelled jumping up as you got them “yes! Got em!” You yelled excitedly you and Leah both laughed as you settled behind Leah’s back arms around her neck in a hug, with Leah bringing her hands up to your arms as you recorded the outro.

“I think we have a clear winner-“

“It was a tie missy” you said slightly whacking her head. “Anyways tune into our sold out game this weekend against Manchester United at Arsenal.com and Sky News sports. Check out our socials for further details” you smiled.

Media days isn’t just snapping a few cute pics and playing a fun game. It was a little bit more effort and just loads of hours and hours of sitting and waiting to be called up to take pictures or film something for social media.

“What does selling out the emirates mean to me? Um it just feels surreal. As a child I remember coming to the emirates to watch Chelsea and Arsenal play, as a child when your in places like that with just tens of thousands of people it doesn’t feel real and it’s just so overwhelming. All of those people there to watch one game of silly football I would think” you laughed “but just wow 60,000 what a number I guess and it will never hit me that me and the girls have achieved this, if you told me this was happening 12 months ago I would have probably laughed. Especially telling little me sitting there at a sold out emirates in 2005, that I would be on that pitch with the same scenario just blows my mind” you smiled as you put down the phone you were asked to share your thoughts on the sold out game on.

“Sorry that was a bit of a ramble there” you said shyly, handing the phone back to the media manager.

“How long did I sleep for” she asked looking around slightly.

“No idea. Not too long I don’t think”

“Sorry about that” she said snuggling into your legs

“Don’t apologise. We should be able to leave soon. Actually I’m just gonna ask. I can’t wait any longer seriously” you said before getting up to find one of the media girls Ryhanna who was sitting down editing something on a computer. She said it was supposed to finish at 2, but we should be find to leave now.

“I’ll check hang on” she said getting up to ask someone

“Thank you” you said gratefully before walking over to the small drinking tap, filling up your water bottle which was next to it so you could give some to Leah.

“Yep you and Leah are all good to go!” She yelled from a bit away “see you guys tomorrow”

“Thank you so much. See you then!” You said, now happily skipping back. “We can go now!” You hummed, reaching your hands out to Leah so you can pull her up.

She smiled contently and happily letting you pull her up from the ground. You hugged some of the girls goodbye, who were now curious and jealous as to when they could leave.

“After you” Leah said holding the door open which led to the parking lot out the front. You gave her a sweet look and reached for her hand as you walked to the car together.

“Let’s get some sleep” she said leaning on your shoulder as you walked.

“It’s barely five” you laughed at your tired girlfriend. “It’s all that piano practise you stay up to do”

“Yeah yeah” she said walking to the drivers seat

“No missy your gonna fall asleep on the road let me drive. You took her hand in yours, pulling her away from the handle and also grabbing the keys from her hand.

“Off you go my passenger princess” you tapped her butt to shoo her away to the passenger seat

“No you’re my passenger princess” she said with warm cheeks when you both buckled your seat belts. Your reached for her hand once you made it onto the main road, interlocking fingers as you gently kissed hers.

“Smile your on camera” she exclaimed as you slowly turned your head to her and the camera, your girlfriend filming the entire sweet moment, lightly pulling your tongue out at it before facing back at the road in front of you, pecking all of her fingers again as she giggled like a small girl next to you.

Okay so the moon rules the fourth house which is the house of comfort, mother and the home. So looking at people's moon signs is a great way to grasp what their bedroom may look like or what they feel comfortable in. Disclaimer: aspects other fourth house placements and what house ur moon is can affect this.

Moon in Aries: neat and organized or veryyy chaotic, they may have a little corner of their room dedicated to an interest of theirs. Some friends have dumbbells in their rooms as well. Do you guys know those pretty minimal rooms on Pinterest (not the beige) thats what this placement reminds me of and also very chaotic rooms where there are collage walls.

Moon in Taurus: they payyy attention to the little things, they know what they like a value being comfortable, some of my friends with this placement spend a little more on their rooms to make sure everything is up to their standards. Usually have nice bedsheets too. Think nice fabrics. Most likely to have a mini fridge in their room. Their rooms always have a luxurious undertone even if that's not their aesthetic.

Moon in Gemini: techy room three friends of mine have an Alexa in their room and two have a record player. May spend money on gadgets for their room. Naomi Campbell has this placement and her house is literally the shape of an eye. Most likely to focus on lighting in their rooms (led, sunlight lamps, fairy lights). Lot of kpop fans with this placement. Could have multiple journals or sketchbooks all around their room. Tall windows.

Moon in cancer: they like being cozy, literally every single person I know with this placement has a veil hanging from above their bed. Ambient lighting and the starlight projectors. Appealing to all the senses to feel comfortable is important to them. May use candles, diffusers, or incense. Stashes food in their room. Weighted blankets. May have a specific area in their room they get ready in. May have framed photos of their loved ones or Polaroids. If they get flowers from somebody they may incorporate them into their room decor by putting them in a vase or drying them. Libra is ruled by Venus so their rooms always like pretty and almost refreshing.

Moon in Scorpio: every single person I know with this placement is metal/goth 😭 really living up to the stereotype. But Scorpio rules the 8th house and 8th house is about secrets, occult and obsession. Many of my friends with this moon placement when they have it they reallyyy lean into their aesthetic. All five of my friends have their walls covered with things and a typically goth aesthetic they really lean into. Something though I feel like is not talked about with Scorpio is their lighter side. Scorpios sister sign is Taurus and Taurus is very light. Both of these signs can embody one another. A girl on tiktok has a Scorpio moon and Venus and her room is very coquette but her walls are still covered with all sorts of things and she really leans into her style.

Moon in Sagittarius: might have a lot of funny things in their room or just plain out strange things. A friend with this placement has road signs all over his room, a random urinal(don't ask me how he got it idk), life size Bigfoot cutout, and a singular poster of the movie white chicks. Another friend with this placement is really well traveled and she has all the cool souvenirs from all over the world and collects them, she also has a few of those educational posters that are pretty.

Moon in Capricorn: antique but not antique in the way Pisces can be. Lots of nice wood furniture, maybe a bit of a masculine undertone with neutral colors. Moody style and coloring. Capricorn is the sister sign to cancer so their rooms are also very cozy. Whimsigoth or academic. Neutral colors or colors that are darker in shades. Knit blankets remind me of this placement. Leather reminds me of this placement as well. Think of retro made new.

Moon in aquarius: do you guys know those blue/white futuristic technological themed rooms people have on tiktok. That's what this placement reminds me of. People I know with this placement tend to have nice ass pc set ups. You may like to sleep in the cold so they can be extra warm in their blankets. Rooms may be more minimal. Nice wallpaper with celebrities who have this placement.

Moon in Pisces: Antiques but in that almost magical way. Women on tiktok with this placement have these beautiful gold gilded mirrors. My friend has this gorgeous antique wardrobe. One of my friends is Christian and her room is filled with beautiful antique crosses. Another friend is Hindu and she has a nice altar in her room. 💬 Jennie starts her days opening her curtains so the natural light shines in. Then she starts cleaning and organizing her room, you can do this the night before if you have to leave early in the morning, this is for once you get home you can rest in a neat and organized space. You can listen to music while doing it so it isn't too boring!

Next step is to get ready! Start with your skincare, double cleanse your face (only if you wake up with super greasy skin!) Use a toner, moisturizer and sunscreen!

Then do your makeup, jennie usually does her brows, pink-ish eyeshadow, cat eyeliner, curl her lashes and wear mascara, contour her nose and wear a nude lipstick!

Get dressed, she often wears crop tops with slightly baggy pants and top them with accessories like bucket hats, beanies or sunglasses!

Finally pack your bag with everything you need, don't forget about your phone, earphones, scrunchies or hair clips and a pouch with makeup for retouches.

🐈‍⬛ After a busy day our energies are probably too low to have a whole study session, so make it quick! Do a little review over all the contents and make a summary, if it's a math based subject like physics, do a little summary with all the formulas and their use.

After your study session, eat a snack or drink a smoothie to gain energy for the rest of the day!

💭 Even on busy days it's important to have a little time for working out! Jennie is known for doing pilates, you can follow a Blackpink inspired workout like this one. Or you can check the diet part of this blog to see jennie’s short pilates workout!

If you're too tired you can try and do yoga. Jennie and Jisoo do aerial yoga but if you don't want to enroll in a class, search for a follow along video on youtube.

Whether you choose one of these workouts or another more impactful one, it's important to stretch after a workout to cool down our muscles and prevent lesions!

🔭 First massage your scalp using a massager or your hands, jennie also puts aromatic oils in her hair before so she can relax easier, choose your favorite scent!

For shower feel free to choose whether to have a long bath with bathbombs and everything or a quick shower, but remember to wash your body and use a body scrub.

After shower, moisture your body with body lotion and change into pajamas.

After our shower dry your hair and head to the kitchen to prepare your dinner, one of Jennie’s hobbies is cooking and baking so have fun preparing your meal!

🩹 After eating dinner, wash both your teeth and face, double cleanse with a cleansing oil (dry skin only!) and a foam cleanser, then use a toner, Jennie uses a sheet mask after! Make sure to use the mask serum on your neck, arms or legs, after using cream to set the moisture.

You can also use a lip scrub if you struggle with dry lips or use a wet toothbrush, just make sure to apply lip balm or a lip mask after to wake up with perfect lips.

After all this pampering, get comfortable in your bed and watch a movie until you fall asleep

That Girl Makeup Tips💋🤍🍒🕊️

Here are all my makeup tips and tricks that I have gotten from many years of bingeing makeup videos and wandering around Sephora.

Always follow makeup gurus who have similar skin types, aesthetic, and coloring so you can pick out the best products for you.

Create a Pinterest board of girls with similar features to yours and try to mimic the placement of the makeup.

Never fight your natural features it’ll just read really weird in real life and it’s way more attractive to have unique features that are enhanced with makeup.

Use two different blushes. One that is darker/cooler and can be placed towards the edges and contours of the face. Then one that is brighter/lighter to be placed near the highlight for a natural flushed look. (Don’t put too much on blush blindness is so real)

Always apply your makeup in thin layers or you will get creases and cakeyness. Also spray setting spray in between layers to really lock in your makeup.

Always blend your cream/liquid product in with a damp sponge/brush and your powder products with a dry sponge/brush.

Never put liquid over a powder!!!

Skin prep should never be skipped always do your skin care and let it sit for a bit before makeup.

When doing rush makeup always think it is best to add contrast to your face. This means when you don’t have a lot of time you should focus on filling in your brows putting on mascara and adding some color to lips and cheeks. No need for foundation and you’ll still look put together.

If your mascara always transfers to your eyelid put some powder on your lid because it is often the oils on your skin that causes the transfer.

Understand that while you make look amazing in a full beat if you wear it every day the one day you skip the full beat everyone is going to think you are ill. It’s best to do full glams on special occasions unless you are just the type of girl that will not skip a day if so more power to you.

Find the right red lip for your coloring. A red lip is so powerful and beautiful. But you have to find the right color.

A bright blush on top of bronzer gives that beautiful sun kissed look. Especially when places on the high points of the face.

Keep your eyebrows neat and natural. Don’t do too much trust me you’ll look back and thank yourself for not following all the weird eyebrow trends.

Glowy skin around the mouth and nose does not read as glow but as sweat so make sure you powder those areas.

Once you find a routine that works keep with it and eventually it will be very automatic and easy.

Half lashes on the outer counter make your eyes looks bigger and don’t weigh your eye down like a full strip.

For a more natural look don’t put concealer right under your eye or use a really bright concealer

Put mascara and a little eyeshadow on your bottom lashes. Just a bit don’t go crazy but it looks weird if you have a full eye look and nothing on the bottom lash line

The perfect shade of blush is also your perfect lip color and creates a beautiful roses look (I also use it as eyeshadow)

Contour is cool toned while bronzer is warm toned.

Never sleep in makeup and use an oil cleanser to remove it.

Most of my photos were from 2012 to 2016. I have learned a lot since then. My photo restoration hobby has improved my image editing skills in general. And I was curious if I tried editing one of my photos from scratch if I could improve upon my original edit from years ago.

This is just a direct output of the original RAW file. RAW files are typically flat by nature so you have more latitude when processing and editing.

This is my original finished edit from 2016.

I actually made a pretty big lighting mistake when shooting this photo. A beauty dish can cause harsh reflections on makeup and so Nicole's forehead bounced all that light directly into my camera. I was still learning back then and didn't know anything about makeup. All that was required was angling the dish a few degrees up or down, which feels like a pretty silly mistake all these years later.

And here is my 2023 edit. I did not reference the 2016 image until after I finished.

The main priority was the glare on the forehead, but I think this is much more balanced overall as well. I also tried to fix the weird neck shadow and the lack of light in the eyes. I probably should have used a reflector originally, but thankfully Photoshop has a solution to almost any photography blunder. I removed some vellus hairs on the edge of the face, as that is not something you would notice in real life, but the camera and lights can exaggerate them. I'd also like to say I love the new remove tool. Getting rid of flyaway hairs was such a monotonous pain in the ass before and that thing just zaps them with a click.

I am also trying to learn new editing techniques I was never good at. There is a retouching technique called "dodging & burning" that I had trouble with back in the day. Mostly because finding advanced tutorials can be difficult. Much of the content on YouTube focuses on beginner techniques.

Dodging & burning was originally innovated by Ansel Adams back in the days of film. He would block portions of his negatives for a second or two so those areas would develop darker. Or he would let sections expose longer so they would be brighter. It was basically analog Photoshop. You can see a neat video of his darkroom here.

While Ansel mostly did landscapes, portrait photographers of the digital age utilize dodging & burning to help bring out dimension in the face. It's quite similar to makeup contouring, actually. It is very hard to perfectly light every nook and cranny on a face and many portrait lenses are slightly telephoto. Longer lenses compress faces to remove distortion, but you end up losing three-dimensionality as a tradeoff.

My first attempt dodging and burning did not go well but I played with this photo for a few hours trying many different approaches and I think I landed on something I like. But I have been staring at it for way too long, so it is hard for me to look at it objectively.

I do wish we could all look at this on the same display. Green is notoriously difficult to keep consistent from screen to screen.

In any case, there are a dozen subtle things I did with my upgraded knowledge that may not be noticeable individually, but I'm hoping it all adds up to a better finished result.

And I guess we'll see if there is a consensus regarding the dodging & burning. Either good, bad, or just... different.

You didn’t have to wait long to set your plan into action. Namor had sent word that there would be a seven day recess, so he’d be home by evening. You took the time to doll yourself up and wear the night gown he likes the most. It’s blue and adorned with Jade, a testament to how he loves to spoil you. You cover yourself with a long, flowy robe, the same blue color as your night gown, and tie the robe together with the matching belt with a neat little bow. Like a present to unwrap on Christmas morning.

While you wait for your lover to return home, you also prepare one of Namor’s favorite dishes to eat. It’s a simple dish — fish and rice, but you prepare it in the way his mother did and it reminds him of her. Namor strolls into the room, shoulders tense and his eyes tinged with annoyance. His eyes light up into appreciation at the sight of you.

He trails his eyes down your body, coming back up to stop at the necklace that rests just in between your breasts. It’s a small intricate gold and silver necklace that ties into a knot where the two metals meet. He gifted that necklace to you when you got engaged. For many, it’s a symbol of your union. That your fate is tied to his for as long as you both live. You shudder at his lingering gaze and try to ignore the tingle that spreads from your core.

Today is not about you, you scold yourself. You should at least feed the man before you jump his bones. You were so busy chastising yourself that you missed the way his gaze darkened, his eyes full of desire and want. You did however notice the tenseness in his shoulders, and the way his mouth was set into a thin straight line.

August Week 3: Using Your Senses

This week we’re going to be talking about our senses and how they can help us relate to our craft, our practice, magic, and well, life in general. Sometimes we take for granted the simple magic that is our senses. It is these senses that help us connect to the world around us, literally, while also spiritually, emotionally and even magically connecting us to it. We’re going to focus on our regular senses this week and delve into those extra sensory topics next week. For now, let’s focus on taste, touch, sight, sound, and hearing.

Monday - Touch

Introspection/ Research - Think about your sense of touch. What does it have to do with your craft, literally and metaphorically? When you touch the tools you use, the ingredients you use, the space you work in, what does that sense tell you about those things and about your craft in general? How does touch help you connect to your practice?

Practical/ Journal - in order to do the above prompt, pick a few items in your witchy collection and just… touch them. If you have a ritual blade, touch the metal (carefully) and write in your journal what the sense of touch tells you about it. Same with a crystal, a plant, a candle and so on. Make a list of the items and describe their physical feeling in your journal and what it tells you about that item in both a practical sense and magical sense.

Research/ New Page - herbal research - pick an herb from your list and look into everything about it! History and myth, associations and culinary uses, magical uses and mundane! How does it grow? Where does it grow? Everything!

Tuesday - Taste

*Disclaimer* I don’t recommend and will not recommend tasting anything that you don’t know the chemical makeup of. Do not ingest plants or crystals or anything without knowing how it will affect you and if you are allergic.

Introspection/ Research - With the above disclaimer in mind, think about how taste can aid you in your magical practice. If you brew tea or do kitchen witchery especially, what is it about the flavors that influence those aspects of your craft? Do you preferences in taste influence the herbs and spices and ingredients you use when brewing or cooking for magical or ritual purposes? Does the flavor itself have associations for you? How else can taste help to determine what you do and use in your craft?

Practical/ Journal - Make a cup of herbal tea, or bake bread or make a meal that has magical connections or connotations. Why did you choose the ingredients you chose? Again, how does the taste of it influence your magic and craft? How does it serve you magically?

Wednesday - Sight

Introspection/ Research - Think about how your practice looks. To you. Recently with the upsurge of popularity of witchcraft in online spaces, there is a debate of the validity of what our craft looks like in private versus what we publicly share. That’s not to say that what everyone shows publicly isn’t true to their practice, but sometimes it isn’t. Is your craft as clean and neat as what you share (if you share pictures or videos)? What sights are important to you in your craft? Does it have to be a certain look? Do your tools and materials have to have a certain aesthetic? Or is it more about the practicality of things?

Practical/ Journal - if you have an altar or workspace, take a long look at it and describe what it looks like. How important is the style to you? What things look most important? Is there anything central to it? Is it a hodgepodge? What things draw your eye most? What things compete for the attention of your sight? If you can, and have the means, go out and find something for your workspace that catches your eye.

Research/ New Page - gem research - pick a crystal from your list, or whatever else you may be researching and learn as much as you can about it! Chemical makeup, where it’s found, what it’s used for? History and myths, everything!

Thursday - Sound

Introspection/ Research - close your eyes and listen. It’s perhaps the hardest and the easiest thing to do. But truly hearing, allowing yourself to hear the world around you, can take time. What sounds do you associate with your craft and practice? What sounds make magic real for you? Do you listen to certain music? Is it a certain animal sound? A sound from nature? Maybe just a specific note or instrument like a bell. How can you utilize sound for your practice? Listening to music during your spells and rituals, connecting with the power of the wind through its sound in the leaves. What and how does sound perform magic?

Practical/ Journal - if you have a bell or flute or other instrument at your altar or workspace, find out what note(s) it plays! Is that not specifically something you chose or did you choose the instrument itself? Do you hum or sing for your practice? Figure out what sounds help you feel magical and journal about them. What emotions do they stir, what thoughts?

Friday - Smell

Introspection/ Research - Think about the candles and incense and herbs you use and what they smell like. Are there certain smells that make you feel magical or think of your craft? How does smell influence your craft? When you perform magic, spells or rituals, generally things smell good, yeah? What connotations would bad smells have in your practice and craft? Think hard about ways that smell is influenced by your craft and how smell influences your craft!

Practical/ Journal - if you’re able, take some herbs whose smells your like, figure out their associations, and dress a candle with them! Why did you choose those scents? Were they sharp? Sweet? Savory? Sour? And what about the candle, what scent did it have, if any?

This week had a strange few prompts, but connecting even the basics of life to our craft can help us better understand it, as well as ourselves. The basics and fundamentals are important to remember and review. Use all of your senses to connect to your craft.

CZsworld, a horror themed channel that focuses on the intricate histories, theories, characters and stories of many horror movies, books, and sometimes tv shows. He also talks about people/figures from real life in more parody-esque horror history videos. He’s extremely cool and an amazing channel to watch to get into the Halloween mood during October, but watching him at any other time is enjoyable as well

glamourdaze, a collection of different videos from the 20th century, such as beauty and healthcare videos, or just videos of people from different decades in this century living out their lives. What makes this channel one of my favs is that they revive the clips of people from decades such as the 1920s to color them and slow them down (to make it look less choppy and more realistic in how the people move) and it really gives a whole new different perspective on these eras and makes us realize that this wasn’t too long ago.

Erin Parsons Makeup, a very talented makeup artist and vintage collector who’s really cool and someone I love seeing talking about makeup and fashion from history. She’s very similar to glamourdaze except she mainly focuses on vintage/antique fashion and recreates retro looking styles in her looks and it’s just really neat :>

Schafrillas Productions… yeah he’s just very neat and I like watching his movie/tv show reviews. Though his content where he’s passionate and excited about a piece of media is enjoyable, watching him rip apart something he genuinely despises with an infinite amount of rage is funny as all hell

Micarah Tewers, a very talented, artistic, and funny seamstress who makes different types of dresses and outfits in her videos. I love how much dedication and detail she puts into her work to make it stand out and look amazing whenever she wears it, and I also really enjoyed her prom dress videos. She’s also really funny and I love all the extra hijinks she shows herself getting into in between making her project and the video itself lol

Nylijah Myeesah, aka the channel of @/lovesickbrat is a really great coquette channel, and she also has some very good points on different parts of the coquette community and how some aesthetics (such as traumacore or doelet) need to be criticized more because of what they promote.

Colin LooksBack, a Disney based channel that focuses on the characters and movies/other media from Disney, as well as the behind the scenes details of how classic Disney films were made, especially the animated movies made during Walt Disney’s life/career

Karolina Żebrowska, a history fashion themed channel that you probably have heard of. She makes a lot of historical videos as fashion videos and she’s just very talented and intelligent and you should check her out.

Finally, Lavendertowne, the channel I have the fondest YouTube memories of as she was the one who inspired me to start art. I used to love her creepydrawstas and her videos where she drew different stuff as people, as well as her art tutorials. I wouldn’t have gotten to my point in my art journey if it weren’t for her, and overall she’s very cool and sweet.

Update

Hi hi, everyone. I know it's been a long time. I was actually typing up a message to @prince-infidel because of an ask they sent me, but I realized I should probably just make it a post. So I guess this is an update. Okay, short version: The end of 2022 and the entirety of 2023 was horrible for me. A lot happened, and 97% of it was not good. Now to get into a bit more specifics. While all of this crazy stuff was going on, a friend of mine really needed help with their company. They were just going through a ton, and I jumped on to help them while they were trying to figure that stuff out. Turns out that I was a good fit. So I've completely changed careers currently. Also, with all of this crazy shit going on, I stopped drawing entirely. That's a first for me. No matter what was going on, I always had my drawing as an outlet. It was very new for it to be gone. I actually only recently started drawing again, and when I say recently, I mean last week. I haven't even finished anything and my progress comes in very small doses. Baby steps I guess. Now the stuff you're actually probably interested in. Even though I haven't been drawing, I have been making art. - I've been putting crazy amounts of effort into making costumes. It's really fun and I've level grinded a lot with sewing and fabrics. I made an entire Victorian costume on my own. It was cool. - I weirdly started working on dolls? I have no idea why I started doing that. I hate dolls. - I started making weird... sculptures? I don't know how to describe them. It's basically recycling and turning materials into monstrosities for my own entertainment and to scare random people. - And I've delved more into my hobby of SFX makeup.

I have been being creative, it's just a bunch of stuff that no one cares about. It makes me happy and that's all there is to it really. Which brings me to the long version, because I have no idea how to continue this without going into details. I can only assume all of this answers anyone questions who might be curious. Time to get a bit more specific.

I don't know how to start this, so I guess I'll just say that my interests have completely moved. I think everything above should make that clear, but when I'm referring to interests, I mostly mean the things that inspire me. This is actually typical for me. I love fiction and am a fan of many, many things. I get really involved in a fandom for a while, get bored, then move on to one that is piquing my interest more. Eventually I come back and the cycle starts over. I always keep up with all of my interests simultaneously, it's just that one usually dominates the others. The thing is, comic books have completely lost my interest currently.

There's a lot of factors. I'm not going to repeat stuff that you've probably heard a thousand times from other people about the current state of the comic industry, comic writing, the movies, the video games blah blah blah whine whine whine. I think one of the big things though is that this last year has really changed me. I'm just a really different person now. I'm not that happy-go-lucky nerd I was before. I think my major concern is that I honestly think it would be fucked up if I continued to post here.

People started following me here because of my art and my posts. It would be fucked up to switch that around on them and just show back up as this different person with different art, different interests etc. I've thought about making an update on here a bunch of different times, but I never did because of stuff like that. However, in a way, it's been really nice. It's been nice to just do whatever stupid art project comes into my head, and to do it just for the sake of making something. I think dropping drawing all together (not by choice, mind you) turned out to be good for me. I think I got in tune with a creative side of myself that I'd lost a long time ago. It's been pretty neat.

I've thought about just leaving this tumblr to history. I honestly think that I should. It can be a weird time capsule of this specific fandom in this specific time period. I've thought about just making different social media accounts so that people who want to see any of my new, awful creations could if they wanted to. I don't know though. I'm just all up in the air all the time now lol

I get this isn't an "all questions answered" kinda post. Not that most people needed them, but I know that there are people who just liked my art in general and I knew they must be curious. So I hope I at least answered some stuff and gave some clarity.
