i have been procrastinating making one of these for a while now so here you go.

I don't know how people can post their names on here, or their ages. Like what :0 I could not do that. (So if you need to refer to me, you can do so by my username) I do feel comfortable telling you this stuff:

The labels I use to identify my gender identity are genderfluid, nonbinary, transgender, genderflux, xenogender, fluidflux, and specifically genderspirit. At least that's the basics.

When it comes to sexuality/romantic attraction I consider myself frayromantic and neptunic, I am also aceflux. And also objectum.

tv shows: adventure time & scavengers reign

not being able to pick between these two shows is the reason i'm doing two for each category. adventure time is my all-time favorite show hands down, but scavengers reign took second place (overtaking russian doll, which previously held that rank) when it absolutely blew me away earlier this year. i've watched it twice now and definitely plan on giving it a third watch sometime soon.

movies: i saw the tv glow (2024) & suspiria (2018)

as someone who repressed my gender really hard throughout most of college after flirting with transitioning in high school, this movie really spoke to me. i've seen it twice now and found a lot of value in the rewatch. i definitely want to watch it again at least one more time. this is an incredibly profound movie that has changed me as a person.

on the other hand, suspiria (2018) is an enduring favorite of mine for a very silly reason. it is a straight up good movie, but the actual reason it's my second pick for this post is that for like a year after first watching it, i kept seeing the mangled bodies of characters from it as sleep paralysis hallucinations. it was terrifying at the time but i find it incredibly funny to look back on, and think very fondly of this film in general. i got to rewatch parts of it for free irl! thanks, sleep paralysis demons!

albums: feather river canyon blues by pigeon pit & kudzu, devour everything! by levees

for two years now, feather river canyon blues has very unambiguously been my favorite album of all time. it's lomes oleander's bold, dense, imagery-filled lyricism at its best, backed by the full band that her voice deserves playing alt-country sounds that strike the perfect balance between gentle and energetic. it's simultaneously desperate and hopeful, joyous and melancholy, and at every moment filled to the brim with emotion and beauty. this album feels like watching every sunset at once surrounded by your best friends and loved ones. transgender folk music will save us. if you have to pick one song from this album to listen to, make it milk crates:

kudzu, devour everything! is the reason i started playing banjo. levees is a friend of a friend, and i was introduced to their music because said friend was praising this album in our friend group's discord server. i find levees' idiosyncratic manner of clawhammer playing--often very fast and full of non-traditional rhythms--to be absolutely magical. their songwriting is also excellent, full of vivid stories and characters sung about in prose that weaves effortlessly between the elegantly straightforward and beautifully dense. i also recommend listening to their album vultures, as well as quarantipilation volumes 1 & 2. it's actually not one of the songs that contains banjo, but if you have to pick one to listen to from this album, i recommend her/hymn/their, which won't embed for some reason but hey here's the link

(also, honorable mention to drink the sea by the glitch mob, which is the first album i ever really fell in love with, and which inspired little 13-year-old elise to grab a copy of ableton and learn how to make music myself. until feather river canyon blues came along, i would have probably picked drink the sea for this post.)

video games: signalis & mice tea

first off, i cried at the end of signalis! while streaming! it was really, really good!!! it has a delightfully dreadful atmosphere, great story, very interesting worldbuilding, phenomenal art style, and excellent character design. plus, it was great for practicing my german. i strongly recommend signalis to anyone who likes survival horror.

second off, yes, i am choosing mice tea, a transformation fetish visual novel, as my second pick here. judge me all you like. i stand by my choice. its story is fun! the characters are excellent! its humor and conceptual ridiculousness disarm you and make way for genuinely emotionally impactful storylines! it has a lot of interesting commentary on gender! it almost single-handedly turned me into furry! also, it's hot! go play mice tea!

she hasn’t read them or anything LOL but we jus talked abt how i use writing fanfics to help me process what i’m going thru as well as mapping out different perspectives… we’ve never discussed it in detail but she thinks it’s a healthy hobby for me. to be fair, she knows i’m delusional and aspire to marry yoongi so 😀

because of the relationships i’ve grown up around,, i struggled a lot with communicating and dependency. also think that because of my anxiety and depression,, i’ve always found art in different mediums to be a great way to express and cope with the trauma or triggers i have. writing, as cliché as it sounds, has always been the greatest form of escape for me. it’s ironic cos as much as i use it to escape, i’ve also never been more found when i write 😍🤞🏽

also,, i’ve been writing fanfics for a while (but i only got decent at it now) since i was 12 actually…

then on wattpad for 5sos… i wrote a fanfic called 50 reasons why i won’t go out with you and my username was like cth-bluez or smt LOL

i stopped writing from 2016-2021 and then picked it up again when i got into bts and it was covid times! (my writing was HORRIBLE btw…) so its been 4ish years back in it and it’s been……. funny

we’re the same age btw! so we’ve lived the same amount of years and therefore i don’t have much to say about it.. except for the fact that i understand and see you. regardless if it’s burnout or not having enough time; writing is hard. getting back into it is hard !!! so to me,, to even think about writing again,,, is enough and i can’t wait for whatever stories you have to share with the world 🌟

not to be all sentimental but HAHAA i think my writing speaks for itself in terms of passion and growth. i’ve stressed abt updates, i’ve hated my own characters, i’ve had sleepless nights for writing concepts that got like 13 notes … i’ve had seasons of silence where it felt like i was jus writing to an empty crowd (which i truly was),,, but things change and before you know it you have strangers asking you about your writing journey 😹 don’t get me wrong,, there are definitely things that i’ve posted and absolutely hate atm,, and there are things that i think are my pride and joy… but that’s jus what it is. writing and its complexity of being everything and nothing to you all at once 🫶🏻

i have been part of iamp for fiiiiiiiifteeeeeeeen yeeeeeears (screech), I did art and voice acting for IAMP Back In The Day and I've at least gotten better at one of those; I also run @project-canada which was an attempted reboot I helped out with but now it's just kind of a general repository for fanworks so I try to check the tags once in a while so people can see others who still make stuff in the fandom.

There are a lot of headcanon type posts on my main blog @allbeendonebefore since I've been around for a long time. If I remember to tag them its usually under iamp headcanon on there. Again, grain of salt, etc. that not everything about IAMP aged well, there are things I've changed my mind about as I've grown as a person and travelled and listened, and there are things that I like to focus on that aren't everyone's cup of tea and that's fine.

going to ramble a little bit, so headcanons fall into one of the following:

1. based on lived experience (i have lived in 3 provinces and 1 territory and have family who have spent time in those places at different times; I have travelled to/through four more provinces on top of that). I am happy to contribute info to those places and explain my perspectives and biases with those because I'm One of the Idiots Who Lives There.

2. based on history (I am not a capital H Historian but my degrees come out of the history and classics department and I am currently doing local history as my Job, I was the person who made the rough timelines of characters' histories when the Project Canada reboot was active because I felt like the only person who had the stamina to do that for every character.

3. based on things that make me angry (or things that are funny!) on the news (some people find it hard to distinguish what is and isn't stereotypes/satire if they're not keeping up with me so the usual disclaimer that I Don't Make Characters Reflect My Actual Views All The Time and there's a difference between "this is how the character is in my mind" and "this is me using blorbo as shorthand for taking out my frustration at the State of Things because i live in a province where the governing party thinks starting Literal Actual Tire Fires is good policy." It's one of those things of "if you are unsure just ask" and I will explain, but I think its usually obvious when I am doing salty political comics vs "this is how I legitimately think the characters would interact", its just striking that balance gets hard sometimes.

4. stuff I hear from other people based on their own experiences or just like. reading and listening a lot.

oh and stuff that other people tell me and i go sure that tracks why not.

Yeah, I'm down to talk about whatever/more specific things whenever, I'm just also very particular about some things and I like it when headcanons are based on something a little bit tangible before I fold them into whatever the hell I'm doing at the time. I also tend to disappoint people because I tend not to approach things from the lens of shipping so... even if it appears its usually in a weird and Stupid way that is for max comedy and not max romance so there's that.

I do also do a lot of side stuff with my own city ocs on @battle-of-alberta because i like the granularity and nuance of municipal stuff to sort of poke holes in the whole flattening national/provincial stereotypes thing. yeah.

It's always fascinating finding out people have us blocked that we have never interacted with. Overall, I like to think we've never been antagonistic towards anyone in tags. Never attacked anyone. Never harassed. We've been very civil, even in our disagreements (that I recall at least). We have a few side blogs, and not many people have the main account blocked, so I always find out only after I go to make a comment and then see what accounts are greyed out. Silly little bonus feature of side blogs.

Is it because we sometimes have syscourse?

Is it because we are endogenic or identity as mixed origin?

Is it because we support all forms of plurality?

It's an amusing game. People may block for so many reasons, but those are the three main things we can think of. It's particularly amusing when people love or agree with things on our side blog but apparently hate this account. Extra funny.

If it's because people think we are toxic or out to get systems and corrupt singlets and poison traumagenic systems, then I feel quite awful for someone living in such a fearful and distorted outlook on life and others. Well, if that was the case, then why is our popular side blog not blocked? That blog is all of those things and very loud about it. But also, my partner is a DID system. I am very, very aware that multiplicity is not a silly little game. To say I spread misinformation and am bad for CDD systems blows my mind when I spend every day supporting one. What happens on Tumblr is pointless at the end of the day because what *really* matters is the support and understanding I give to them. We are a living example of how STUPID syscourse is between endogenic and traumagenic systems. Get the fuck off of social media and actually spend time supporting eachother instead of fighting.

Oh! Mayhaps it's our age. It's always interesting when it's our age. I promise we are not creeps and are quite safe to be around. Siblings, work, friends, and online communities have made me very aware of what is appropriate and how to coexist amongst a wide age range of people. I wanted to be a teacher once, and still would love to be an elementary art teacher. I promise I don't bite.

Maybe it's our fictives. I know some people cannot stand their sources or them as individuals. Which again is quite sad. Ashe and Alastor are both amazing people. I dont think I've met a single person who didn't like Ashe once they got talking with her (minus like two assholes that were ultimately voted as assholes by the entire server lol). I point her out because she's been here the longest and I owe her a lot so yeah I kinda play favorites a bit. Because I honestly love her. I say this with all the love for Al and the newest member. They aren't hurt by me saying that. They get it. Honestly, I don't think Al cares enough to be offended.

Maybe it's because I'm a furry. People always hate on furries. But that's okay. People hate on anyone who is different from them. Its why the furry, queer, and alterhuman community are so tight-knit. I'm just a silly fox in the end.

I'm not mad at being blocked. The internet hates and blocks people for so many reasons. I block a specific group of people every time we see them in the tags. I do it because I TRY to live by the motto if I have nothing nice to say I shouldn't say it at all. I also apply this to thoughts. If I see posts that constantly make me think shitty things about people and they aren't actively harming me or the people I care for, I block them. Because placing that into the universe is kinda fucked, even if they never would know about it.

I don't NEED people to like me. But I'll admit it's been a HUGE hurdle in my life. Trying to not care about what others think about me has always been a major issue growing up. I think everyone and anyone can relate to that. There's a saying I try and keep to and its how I'm going to end this post. UM!!! don't know where to start i could talk for HOURS probably but ok. maybe i'll start with the backstory. my idea for it is that basically he got into the constant via an antique voxola radio he found on a garage sale somewhere. it had a tag with an adress on it and being a teen he was like hey. hey let me go there that'd be funny. i think she originally planned to go with someone but ended up going alone, the other person got sick whatever. enter the nightmare hands and she's never seen again. (<i'm not superrr happy with that backstory but i can't think of anything better so. blehhh XP) before that kit was just a highschooler, her family was alright, life was okay etc etc. nothing special but also nothing bad. although kit was probably more like. shy and more of a loner. forgot to mention but he's also more "modern", i don't know if it would actually work in-game lore-wise but it probably got send to the constant like, 2018 the latest (which i should probably utilize more in my art tbh). he's also polish. i probably haven't mentioned that anywhere either. onto other things after getting to the constant it probably wanders around alone for a bit before finding the other survivors. top 10 happiest moments of its life etc etc. kind of interrupting the current flow but it also has the ability to turn into a werething, which is unique because it is by that affiliated with both the moon and the shadows but also both sides kind of hate her anyways lol. being werething doesn't give it any super like. powers it can just turn into a wolf-bear creature during full moons and where it is in grave danger. that's also why it has those funny features like animal ears, a tail and horns (speaking of! i always thought of the horns as something like a non-newtonian fluid in a sense that if you don't use force when interacting with them your hand would go through or they would bend out of shape before returning to how they were before, but if it were to ram into someone it would probably hurt, not like walenty would do that). its eyesight is still dogshit without glasses BUT it can probably hear and smell a bit better. ok now maybe onto relationships. i haven't thought about ALL the survivors in detail but i imagine she gets along pretty well with everyone. she used to be pissed off at maxwell for a bit but she got better now maxwell is like his lame ass uncle or whatever. it also has a father-son like relationship with wilson and they probably talk about science together, they're into different fields i imagine (walenty is more of an astronomy guy but he'll try to remember what he learnt in physics for higgsbury if he asks). either way they're silly together they make me very happy :]. she also feels like an older sibling figure to the other kids since she's like 16 and #responsible. also friends with woodie they go ice fishing together and they're both were(insert animal here). AND WITH WOLFGANG. he's also friends with him i think they're slavic besties :3. ok now that we have friendships out of the way he and WX fight all the fucking time. they hate eachother sooo much <not really they just get on eachother's nerves and who's there to stop them from throwing rocks at eachother. walenty probably pushed wx into a lake once and then felt genuinely bad until they threw her in the lake back and oh buddy it's on. <they both refuse to be the bigger person basically. the only instance in which they'll work together is if webber asks them. i would say more but i hit the character limit </3

I love the way you draw skin and fat, your drawing of ysayle (i forget if it was her or someone else but the point still stands) with acne almost made me cry with happiness when I first saw it. oh yar it was pretty common in both my fanfiction and art to get told that but admittedly i do think i wasnt really drawing anything of substance besides vague sad thoughts and emotions i was having in highschool LOL

like looking back on it i cant blame people for extrapolating the Bad Emotions from the stuff i made even when the piece wasnt about that cause i was in like, a really bad spot constantly but it being the only thing i heard was definitely something people could've lighten up about cause i was also just trying to draw fanart and live in peace but even my friends from back then told me such and its like GOT DAMN (ITS REALLY FUNNY NOW)

but i am really happy to know that im at least a little more well enough that that has stopped being prominant in my art and that people get good fuzzy emotions AND IM HAPPY that i can finally make ''the art'' i want..... i can never really describe how i felt held back in a way i didnt know of back then but i really do think it was because the artists around me just never Talked or Made an effort to draw things in their art like acne and such, and since i had no way of learning about art besides by listening to big artists back then i never Thought i could do that, or i thought people wouldn't like my art if i did that that i even refused to draw features I Had (i even remember once trying to hide that i started forming acne as a teen because i was so hyperaware of being seen as unsightly on the internet for it after having smooth skin and that was rough. ROUGH) so the fact that now what i once feared of ''what if people are rude about the way i draw people'' is entirely flipped upside down to ''people really love the way i draw characters'' i think also helped me get out of my shell of insecurity with my own art and actually Enjoy drawing because i feel like i can really express something

Well everyone, we did it. As of Friday evening, "First Impact" has reached its conclusion. And I actually... have mixed feelings about that? On the one hand, I'm thinking to myself: "I did it! I'm FREE! I can work on whatever I want now! I can finally start the sequel (there were so many times that I wished I was writing the sequel fic instead that it's not even funny. I have so many ideas for it and I just wanted to get started)! I can work on other things!" But at the same time, I also got a little sad about it after I uploaded the last chapter. And I'm not fully sure as to why. I'm going to write other things for "Collision Course" (which is a good thing, because working on "First Impact" caused me to get emotionally attached to a certain trio of little robot men (of whom I gave daddy issues). I did not sign up for that, y'all. But by no means am I complaining), so it's not like I'm saying goodbye to the characters or anything. I'm still going to be active in the fandom and on this blog while "Collision Course" is on hiatus, so that's not the problem either. Maybe it's because I was writing this particular story for so long? Or maybe it's because I was searching for quotes related to the concept of "saying goodbye" that I could put in the beginning and end author's notes for Chapter 40, and I started getting emotional. Which brings me to my next point: the last "fun fact" I have to share about the development of "First Impact" is about how I picked quotes for each chapter. And this is the secret:

I Googled them. That's right. The same person who kept screwing up character designs because she couldn't be bothered to look up a picture of whatever character she was writing about managed to scrape together enough wherewithal to spend upwards of thirty minutes looking for the ideal quotes to use for author's notes for each chapter. Funny how life works out like that sometimes. What I would do is look up whatever "theme" was applicable for the chapter I needed quotes for (i.e. "forgiveness", "fighting with friends", "family", etc.), and then scroll through Google images until something clicked (while I could've used an actual website, I've found that some quote-based websites are really sketchy... for some reason). Then I would look into the history of the person who said it. This would help me understand the context behind the quote in some cases, while also helping me make sure I didn't unironically quote a terrible person.

Now then: I didn't always have to look a quote up. Occasionally I would remember something that was part of a piece of media that I engaged with in the past, and use that as a quote instead. The quote I used from the webseries Lucids (2020) at the end of Chapter 4 is an example of this.

That is all I have to say on the topic of quotes, so I guess I'll use the rest of this post to explain the future of this blog moving forward. Since I won't be working on "Collision Course" for a little while, I will be using this blog for reblogging, to post more memes and essays, and maybe some art every now and then. I also plan to post snippets of the sequel to "First Impact" once I start making decent progress on it. And as always, my inbox will be open, so I will continue answering questions.

AW NOHR ITS OKAY 💕 I saw a while ago you mentioned you aren’t really on discord much, and I’ve been busy in my own little world lately and haven’t been on here much to say hi myself. 😔💕 Don’t worry about it mwah!

Hhmmm 5 things that make me happy right now are:

1. My brother and my sister in law are visiting! I usually see them once a year, since they live in another part of the country, and that time for 2024 has come. My mom has also made some incredible baked goods for their visit, which I am also enjoying LMAO. Last night my brother, who has a fancy business boy job but is also in a couple bands, one of his friends who is also in those bands, and a family friend who is a folk musician played music together. It’s been lovely so far!

2. Makin’ stuff! I got some new brushes and textures to use in Procreate, and I’ve been having a lot of fun experimenting with them. I’ve also been working on the Dimension 20 Zine Jam again this July, and it’ll be coming out soon in early August! And in between all this, I’ve been making little sketches for AU ideas with friends. I was in a funk for a while, and everything I was making felt like torture. But I’m getting back into the swing of things! Here’s one of the things I drew last night. :3

3. Speaking of D20: I finished The Unsleeping City’s second season! If anyone is unfamiliar, it’s a D&D actual play on Dropout (and some seasons are free on YouTube!) TUC is about a magical, dream-fueled secret borough of New York City and the people who can see and interact with it. I think it’s my favourite D20 series. The first season (which is up on YouTube) had some elements I didn’t love, there was some Iron Fist stuff in there. But the second season rectifies some of that, which I appreciated. Really hoping they bring the second season to YouTube, too. Both seasons have some truly incredible improv in them. Lou and Brennan going at each other as a divorced couple, Brennan’s “You know that kindness is incredibly real. And the realness of that kindness makes it hurt even more that these people are not going to lie down in bed with you to keep you warm at night for the rest of your life.” KILLS MEEEE. It’s also so stupidly funny. In season 2 they get shrunk down so they can go to a monastery inside a hot dog cart that’s run by cockroach monks. They have to fight an army of centurion ants with ballista mustard and ketchup bottles. The absurd creativity of the seasons is so good, and being helmed by Brennan Lee Mulligan who was born and raised in NYC, it does make the place sound and feel magical.

4. Just good ol art in general! For one of the zines I worked on for the jam, I was looking into a bunch of different artists for inspiration.
