one of the biggest shifting tips i could ever give someone is actually a question — what is shifting to you?

what does it mean?

no, seriously. put down the phone. turn down the music. forget everything. the countless advice and terms you read on tumblr. now, begin to tear shifting apart, get to its very core.

what is shifting to you? how do you perceive it? what do you believe in? these are all questions you should be able to answer by yourself.

we can get so lost in the vast sea of information available on the internet that we forget to think by ourselves. there are many useful posts, of course, but it's a lot of info that we try to process all at once.

speaking from experience, when i tried to shift after endlessly scrolling on tumblr, a bunch of new information had just been barely processed into my brain, things would get messy. during the attempt i'd think about so many things at once, trying my absolute best to remember all the good advice i had just read, resulting in my brain overworking — when shifting is supposed to be easy.

so, take a moment, maybe write it down if it helps, get a clear image of your beliefs, what you've learned and what works for you.

right, this might shock you, or go against what you naturally believe, but when it comes to shifting, there's no right or wrong. everyone's journey is different.

many shifters believe in the multiverse, while others don't, for example, and both get the same results. it's more of a matter of what works for you. no one's opinion should be held to the highest standards.

STOP RELYING ON OTHERS. you know enough.

this is also why you should think for yourself, there are so many different perspectives online, take time to create one of your own. for your own journey.

— but if there's no right or wrong, how do i know shifting is even real? won't that just give me more doubts?

that's why it's called a shifting journey. it's up to you to take your time exploring, researching, experimenting, be curious and build your own answers. my beliefs as to why shifting is real might be completely different than yours. but, if you must know — it's a practice that has been done years before the internet even existed. actually, to build such a big community on the internet, there had to be an immense background of previous information. that's what i believe in.

now, i'm not saying you need to know everything! absolutely not! shifters don't have the answers to every question in the book and that's natural, we are human. but i still believe you should have something solid of your own to trust and to guide you.

keep searching, keep learning, your beliefs aren't set in stone and can be changed any moment, but give yourself some clarity! what is shifting to you?

being a reality shifter who is an adult in my desired realities and a teenager here means constantly having my wit, emotion, patience, intelligence, and more constantly tested and thrown around. I enrolled into college early, skipped high school, and talk to college students, and a lot of the time they have a tendency to treat me as if i'm a child when i'm just fifteen. yet, they always ask me one thing-- how am i so mature?

why am i not petty, whiny, rebellious, impatient, or as needy as some teenagers can be?

so, how'd i get this way? ׅ  ೀ

not to butter myself up-- but i believe that i have my moments of maturity. does this mean im always mature? no.. i have moments of fucking up.. as all people do, big or small. however, it feels like people think because i'm a kid, i haveeee to be dumb.. or i haveee to be immature. i can't tell everyone "oh yeah ive experienced an alternate reality where im a 20 year old woman who lives alone and has her own career." because that would make me sound crazy. maybe not if i explain it all, but who has time for that? be honest. in the end, i feel like people forget that it's possible for me to forgive and forget.. or its possible for me to be okay with not getting my way. i meet many people, even people over 19, who decide to try to engage me in petty drama-- like calling me fat or ugly, or prioritizing insults in situations where we are simply disagreeing with each other. maybe it's common sense for some that this is plain immaturity, and maybe for others, it's less clear. i still run into the occasional "(ex best friends username) liked your post" or the occasional message of "hey, your ex bsf just posted a really shady story, and there's a high chance it's about you!" but it's like.. i do care, but i don't. yesss, i get mad. as one does. like, get the fuck off my page, weirdo. but also it's like, i was as respectful to you as possible as we drifted apart, and if you don't like that, that's okay. i won't hold it against you. we are both kids. but please let me go!!!! :(

don't let yourself be underestimated by the expectation that all teenagers are immature. you are still figuring out what emotions you feel the most comfort being in. i find comfort in sadness. i hate feeling lonely. some people like feeling lonely, but hate feeling sad. while we all have our own thoughts, feelings, emotions, grief, and more-- at the end of the day, there's always going to be that chance to show that you aren't who people think you are, and you've lived more lives than one might think. you'll never deserve to be held to a low expectation when your experiences are so versatile.

Hi, I'm pretty new to shifting. I have had that "tugging" feeling in my brain a couple of times where everything around me blurred but never actually shifted. Do you have any tips about what I should do doing these times? Like close my eyes, think of a certain things, etc.

I am very bad at visualization, so I was wondering if you have any tips for that?

And also I was wondering if a script is necessary to shift? Are there any more important parts in a script?

When you start feeling symptoms, which are too strong to be premature, than it means that your 3D (physicality) is shifting, as you have already shifted in your 4D (thoughts).

The first step is to remain calm, detach yourself from the shifting process, like affirming. Its best to not get excited, but if you're feeling excitement which you can let go of, make it so your DR self is feeling excited for any reason, so you're channeling your emotional energy towards your DR as well. Its important to act like your DR self from that point onwards.

My first method doesn't involve visualising, read my pinned post.

A physical script is not important, but a general idea of what you want is important. People who are experienced in shifting (doesn't matter if they shifted or not) stop physical shifting after they've created at least one script.

This is important because you could have general multiversal laws (it really is lawless out there) safety rules and regulations established first, so you can save yourself in trouble later on.

If you don't feel like it, sit down, brainstorm everything you need and will need in your DR, the script will be stored in your subconscious, regardless.

But anyways, your subconscious knows what you want, but it's best to decide consciously so that your human brain doesn't interfere during it.

Important parts of a script:

On top of your script, write a safe word. It's could be a phrase as well, and it's better to keep a single one for all DRs. You should script that no matter what happens, you'll never forget it, this safeword will instantly shift you back to this CR, or another "safe" reality which you've decided, this could be a waiting room.

Safety rules; general stuff like not getting hurt, others which ensure you're a master shifter and manifestor, so nothing unpredictable can happen to you. Also script a LIFA app, which is like a setting app for the multiverse.

Script that everything around you perceive you as a normal human being (or whatever species you are) so that even astral beings aren't able to figure you're a shifter.

Other details regarding your DR, this doesn't have to be detailed, it's perfectly fine to leave out information, because your subconscious will fill in perfectly for you, just provide a framework.

Got really into Spy x Family recently...my mind's been working.

Hear is my take on Sterek Spy x Family au:

Option A: Spy Stiles x Assassin Derek

"Stiles Jankowski", code name: Void, the FBI's (or some other organization's) best spy/agent, always gets his missions done and has never been caught. Man of many faces/disguises, a silent and deadly enemy to his assigned targets (for the purpose of being able to disguise him scent and hide his heartbeat, Stiles is at least a little magic in all of these). Stiles has lots of experience with dealing with the supernatural, like were's, darach's and many others . Nothing and no one has ever gotten the jump on him, until…

Derek Hale, code name: The Wolf, a born werewolf that later became trained as an assassin in order to take care of his little sister after their family died. If any of his targets were ever found, they'd be found with claw marks and more often than not, their throats ripped out, but...his victims are never found. Derek was never interested in romantic relationships, but Cora keeps telling him to "get a life," and he does, when he suddenly crosses paths with Stiles...

Option B: Assassin Stiles x Spy Derek

Derek Hale, code name: Alpha, born wolf whose whole family was murdered and then later on he became a spy. Because of his training and werewolf abilities, Derek's the best spy the organization has got. He's always able to find and get the jump on his targets once he's locked in on their scent/heartbeat, it's game over for them. The same reason, no one's able to get the jump on him, until there's one person he doesn't immediately catch a scent or heartbeat...

Mieczyslaw Stiles Stilinski, code name: Little Red, took up the career path of an assassin as a way to inadvertently help his Sheriff father with the bad guys that get away. In his training, he learned how to hide his scent and heartbeat in case any of his targets were shifters, and sometimes he forgets to turn off his "ilusion." Despite how much his boss nags at him, to quit "playing with his food" he's never gotten caught, scratched and bruised sure, but it's worth it in order to cause his victims a little mischief. Everyone in his life is bothering him about finding someone, and he firmly believes he'll never find someone. That is until he runs into one Derek Hale, who promptly asks him to marry him...

Option C: My thoughts - Spy Stiles w/Yor's personality x Assassin Derek w/Loid's personality

If you watched the anime, you might agree with me. Yor's personality as a civilian fits Stiles', meanwhile Loid's fits Derek more. However, in their jobs, I think Stiles would be better suited for what Loid does for his job as a spy, especially with how it seems his spy identity as "Twilight" is kinda treated the same way as how some fics I've read treat "Void" as being another identity Stiles can take. It's hard to try to think of how Derek works better as an assassin rather than a spy, seeing as, in either job, he'd be offing people, but also, the acrobatics, feats of incredible strengths AND reflexes that Yor does as a civilian and assassin are definitely things I could see Derek doing, probably because that's how he was in the show.

Now I have like basic ideas for how Eli would be included in any of these options, in terms of how Sterek come across him and go into choosing him. But, remembering the "OG" purpose of Anya having been adopted, (infiltrating the school to get closer to a target), that's where my brain hasn't worked much ideas and plot for him. But if yall want to know how I think Eli is introduced in any of the options, let me know.

‘ as someone who got into shifting at the time of it being a trend somewhere around mid-2020; there's a lot of stuff i had to learn (and also unlearn).

but something i'd like to say is that even after 5 years i still don't know it all. this post isn't really to tell everyone the secret to shifting, or if there even is one. i mostly just want to share what i've learned (even if it's been said again and again on this site), and maybe it can help someone else too!

but then i remember that, there really is no secret, all you need is you.

everyone has the ability to shift, and the process is mostly the same for everyone, but just like how everyone is different— the way everyone shifts is different too; so there's no ‘one size fits all’ solution to shifting.

it's okay to compare advice and tips to see what truly works best for you, but i think constantly seeking out info then not applying it feels like progress, but if you don't actually use that advice then nothing changes.

and i know some of you may find a post that makes you think "omg wait.. i think i got it!" only to go back to reddit, tumblr, or whatever website trying to find more info. (i would know because i've also fallen victim to this...)

i also think there's a thing of having too much information, especially because a lot of it is conflicting (ex. the argument of whether shifting is shifting your awareness to your desired reality vs shifting your subconscious to another reality, if that makes sense.)

so instead of seeking endless advice, it’s more beneficial to apply only what truly resonates with you!

is posting about your dr bad? no! Σ(･o･;). i, like many others, like posting and sharing things about my dr, and i also love seeing other peoples drs!

but i think it really gets to a point, where some people are more concerned about posting about their dr and fantasizing about it, rather than actually wanting or trying to shift there.

so if you find yourself burnt out because you keep trying to find things to post, please take a step back from your socials (〇o〇；)

Beginner’s Guide to Reality Shifting... 

Reality shifting is the practice of moving one's consciousness to another reality. That can be a place where your favourite piece of fiction is reality, or one with a few simple tweaks to here.

 

Origins 

Contrary to popular belief, shifting has existed for decades, possibly even centuries, but was recently repopularised by fandom culture. The idea of astral projection, spiritual meditation and pure consciousness traces back to many ancient cultures, but was officially made mainstream in the 19th century by theologists. Theology was the idea that humans had several bodies, one of which being a spiritual body. This is basically what we call pure consciousness today. Meanwhile shifting or quantum jumping was intronduced by Maxwell in the late 1800s, and was further expanded on in the evolution of quantum physics as a whole.  

So where do you start? 

Shifting can be confusing for somebody who’s getting thrown into the middle of modern shifting, as on most platforms (read; tiktok) the shifting community is a mess, people throwing around misinformation and entitled claims of morality like they Kant or Socrates. But if you’re on tumblr that’s already a good start. In my humble opinion, tumblr has an amazing community of shifters, and it’s easy to find friends and learn about other’s journey and yours by extension. But moving on from there, I think a good place to start is either learning the law of assumption, or the basics of the multiverse theory depending on your ratio of spirituality to scientific belief. Shifting can be explained using both. After that, I’d recommend learning to see shifting as a natural belief, like the sky being blue or brushing your teeth being good for you.  

The modern reality shifting community has developed its own set of terms and concepts that help practitioners communicate their experiences and techniques. Here are some key terms and details: 

Core Terms & Concepts 

DR (Desired Reality) – The reality you aim to shift to, whether fictional, an alternate version of your current life, or something entirely new. 

CR (Current Reality) – The reality you are currently in. 

WR (Waiting Room) – The same as a DR, but is used specifically for being a gateway to other DRs.  

Shifting Techniques & Methods 

Personally, I think methods are overated, i don’t know how contravertial that is, but it creates the illution that shifting requires anything, which it doesn’t. But there are a couple I enjoy. 

@Hrrtshape ‘s Anti-method- THIS IS AMAZING. In my opinion one of the best methods. Along with getting me ridiculously close, it has also reaffirmed my belief to the point that it’s impenetrable. 

That’s it. This is the only method. 

Community Slang & Social Aspects 

“Permashifting”- A term some use for permanently shifting to a DR and not returning to CR (a controversial concept). 

"Respawning" – Permashifting and scripting you forget your cr life. (correct me if I’m wrong) 

“S/O”- Your significant other in your DR.

The Hug

“You're tense,” she says. “What is it?”

We're lying on the sofa, side by side. She's really good at reading me like this.

“Don't freak out,” I say. “I, uh, I want to turn fluid, flow all over you, and envelop you. Like a whole-body hug. It's something we do to show how much we care about each other.”

She’s silent. I'm used to this. Sometimes our differences take a while to process. “Isn't that scary?” she says after a while.

“Maybe if you're human,” I say. “I… don't know.”

She turns to look at me. “It's also the best position for absorbing someone, isn't it?”

“...yes,” I say, quietly. Already fluid, fully enveloping, no way for them to escape. “But I want to make you feel good, not… eat you. I've had other shifters do it for me. It feels good.”

“I'm not a shifter,” she says. I can hear the regret.

“And if we figure out how to change that, you'll be the first to know. You know that.”

She's silent again.

“OK, let's try,” she says. “I trust you.”

Those three words fill me with warmth. So many humans can't get over the absorption thing, even though it's our biggest taboo. We do not absorb people. But we can, and they never forget it.

Yet she trusts me. It's more than I deserve, more than I ever hoped for. I want to give her what I can. I'm smiling.

“I'll go slowly,” I say. “If it's too much, tell me, OK?”

She nods.

I turn my hand fluid first, and flow over hers. We've done this much before – she wanted to know how it felt. Then more – her arm, the whole side where we're touching. I stay in partly-human form, so I can watch for any sign of discomfort – though I'd feel as much through her muscles and skin. I make myself as warm and gentle as I can.

“Keep going,” she says, quietly.

I let go of my form altogether, and keep flowing till I'm covering every part of her body. Except the awkwardly-sensitive parts (human bodies are weird). I have to leave gaps for her to breathe. I keep only the thinnest layer on her face, and when she closes her eyes, I cover those, too.

She lets out the breath she was holding, and gradually relaxes. We can't mindspeak – humans can't do that – but silence is just as good. I hold her tight like she's one of the most precious things in the world. Because in my world, she is.

Does this work? It's straying closer to uncomfortable territory (i.e. anything romantic or sexual) than I'd usually go. But I can't stay in my comfort zone all the time.

And I've experienced this in dreams - where I'm a shifter - and it does feel good. It makes me feel warm, comfortable and safe. Being among my own kind always does.

Uzi: [[Frustration.MP3]] “Ugh, there’s GOT to be something in these rooms!”

N: “Well, J said things like this take time. Sometimes what you’re looking for is doing its best at hiding.”

Uzi: “N, this isn’t hunting— how does that relate to what we’re doing now!?”

N: “Quite a bit. Sure, what we’re looking for isn’t running for their lives… …but whatever was up with your mom was probably something Jenson didn’t want anyone finding out about.” 

J: “Are you two done talking? Your conversation is so unprofessional it makes me want to download malware.”

Uzi: “BITE ME!” *steps into J’s face, pointing at her* “You’re not helping!” 

J: “Because I know how unproductive your wild goose chase is.” 

N: “J! We barely defeated Doll at prom, and she almost killed V! What if she shows up again!?”

J: *skeptical* “And you think the answers to that can be found here?”

Uzi: “Well it’s the only place that’s come up that could have them, you brainwa–!”

Bee: *from inside another room* “Uh, guys? I might have found something…”

*The three follow the yellow HD’s voice into the room, where they find a skeleton dressed in a black garment that, much like most of the furnishings in this bunker, looked like it came right out of the Victorian era. On the wall next to what was likely a teenage girl was a recharging bay.

*And laying on the floor next to both was an inactive Disassembly Drone. 

It looked… older than whatever model N and J were. It had the “stilt” legs indicative of being a female model, but they were more… boxy than conical in shape. Ditto with the forearms, though they were more like rectangular prisms. Its hair was black and styled into twintails, each secured with a hair band at the lower end. And it was clothed in the uniform of a JCJenson technician, though the name tag was missing.*

Bee: “Uh, guys, girls. That’s not what I was talking about.”

*The three drones then looked to see Bumblebee standing by and gesturing to a computer terminal built into the wall. It was smaller than him, though that was expected given that this place was built for human habitation specifically, and it was on a password screen. A bunch of post-it notes were plastered on the wall next to the monitor.*

Bee: “The password’s on the post-it note. I-I think whoever owned this was forgetful, or very secluded.”

Uzi: *groans* “Finally!” *walks over* “Let’s get to the bottom of whatever the heck is up with this place.”

*The purple-haired shifter typed in the password, which was just “1235711” which she found a little amusing (at least it wasn’t “1111”). Once she hit the enter key, the computer screen displayed the message “Welcome, JamesElliott” above a buffering symbol.*

J: “You realize this person likely wasn’t part of the company stru–?”

Uzi: “Shut.” 

*The monitor screen immediately went to this “James’” desktop screen.

*…And it was an absolute mess, cluttered with all sorts of files and programs.*

J: *eyelights hollow* “Uh…” *inhales while cringing* “Sweet corporate…”

Uzi: *eyelights also hollow, moreso in surprise* “Holy shi– WE’VE HIT THE JACKPOT!”

*As Uzi starts cackling like a maniac at this and doing her best to shake the taller Bumblebee in excitement, N moves over to the offline Murder Drone on the floor. He rolled it/her over so it/she was laying on their/her back.*

N: *to J* “Looks like an Alpha-1 model… You think we can use this one for spare parts, boss?”

*The pigtailed disassembler looked over to her younger sibling, only to freeze up upon laying eyelights on the inactive, older drone. 

*The drone looked familiar to J.

*Too familiar.*

“I'm fine,” Theo groans.

“Do you know the story of the boy who cried wolf? You're like the opposite. You say I'm fine and I immediately start to worry,” Liam says with a bit of sass as he bites his nails and taps his foot on the clinic's floor.

Even Deaton grins at Liam's joke because he has to admit, it's not unjustified.

Theo rolls his eyes. “You got hit by the powder too. Why aren't you getting checked out?” he throws at Liam who's standing way too close to Deaton as he checks Theo's vitals.

At that, the vet stops and turns to frown at the beta.

“Well... I was gonna. I'm just waiting for my turn.” Liam blushes under both Theo's and Deaton's unconvinced looks. “And you hit your head pretty bad, what if you got a concussion or something!”

“I'm an invincible supernatural creature,” Theo reminds them with a groan, growing more grumpy and annoyed every second he stays on the examination table.

Deaton looks into the chimera’s eyes and raising three fingers. “How many fingers am I holding?”

“Six,” Theo answers, bored.

Deaton and Liam share a look.

“I'm joking!” Theo exclaims like that was obvious.

“Try and get his scent,” Stiles urges him. “Get anything?”

“Well, it's a mix of honey with a bit of sweat but it's not bad, it's actually-”

Stiles punches Theo's arm a bit harsher than necessary. “Not his actual scent! His emotional state. Chemosignals!”

“Oh,” Theo says, now a bit embarrassed.

Well, Theo hasn't been around Liam all that long but there's always some kind of low rage to his scent. Even when he's happy and smiling. So he disregards that, thinking that it must be more his scent than an actual emotion that he drags everywhere.

“He's sad.”

“Wow, in a cemetery? No way,” Stiles tells him sarcastically, still so impatient. “Don't tell me. It's grief.”

“It's not grief,” Theo tells him, not fazed by Stiles' attitude. “It's uh…” Theo is puzzled for a few seconds. He's not that bad at chemosignals usually. It's one of the only shifter things where he's pretty average. Which is a good thing. “It's resentment.”

Before he can add something else, he smells the rage in Liam's scent suddenly flare up and explode into the air. Theo is shocked by it even at this distance.

Liam starts kicking the dirt furiously in front of the tombstone. Both Stiles and Theo stay silent, speechless. Even from a distance, they can hear Liam sniffing and it's clear that he's crying, passing a sleeve over his face often.

A bit more controlled, Liam takes the flowers that were on the tombstone and puts them on the one next to it, not really caring as long as they're not for this particular person anymore. And then he leaves.

They wait until Liam is fully out of the cemetery before they approach the tombstone.

Theo does the math in his mind. He died the year Liam first left town. Where there is bright and luscious grass everywhere else, Liam's father's tombstone is barely more than dirt with pathetic patches of dry grass. Liam must come here often to make sure there's never any green here.

“Alright, just one final thing! No matter what… we can't let Stiles know that we're going out!” Liam says quickly as he takes his backpack, ready to go.  

“Obviously.”

“Obviously,” Liam says again, nodding at Theo with relief. “Great!”

“Are you sure?” Mason stops their “exactlyyy” moment to ask. “Maybe it would be better to come forward and-”

“No!” Both Liam and Theo exclaim at the same time.

Mason isn’t the angry type. At best, he gets annoyed and then, a few minutes later, he somehow forgets about it. Liam has always been envious of that quality. That being said, it also means that, when Mason looks at him with that peeved look, Liam knows something is definitely bugging him. That light squinting is probably the equivalent of Liam getting his claws out and growling. So he thinks about it for a few seconds. 

“Maybe after the pack meeting,” Liam suggests, trying to find a compromise.

“Yeah, like in ten years,” Theo adds with a snort. 

Liam slaps his arm but, based on Theo’s puzzled “what?”, it seems the chimera didn’t spot Mason putting his foot down. 

Mason’s intense look lands on Theo and Liam knows he’s about to get it. 

“Didn’t take you for a romantic, Raeken, but ten years? Wow, you must love Liam a whole lot to picture yourself still with him in a decade.” 

Theo doesn’t move but his face gains just enough blush for Mason to be satisfied as he turns on his heels and heads for the door.

So I feel like talking about my current DnD character tonight.

This is him. His name is Alvar (everyone say "hi, Alvar!")

Anyway, Alvar is a Beasthide Shifter, Order of the Lycan Bloodhunter. Meaning he has a tendency to turn into this:

See, Alvar is mega-cursed. Backstory is that he was part of a party of adventurers, out on a heroic quest to slay the dragon and save the realm. What could go wrong? Well he finds a gold coin, emblazoned with the image of a dragon curled on a horde of gold, and promptly wakes up to find his party dead and the forest burning around him.

Turns out, this dragon was uber-powerful, and placed a curse on the coin to turn Alvar into a weredragon. The curse can go off at pretty much any time, but it manifests most often when Alvar believes that someone is trying to take this coin away from him. Think "dragon sickness" on steroids, but just for this one specific coin.

Anyway, I took the Haunted One background for him, naturally, and he has spent the five years prior to this current campaign hunting zombies. Basically, his master who taught him to control the curse also instilled in him the idea that "you don't get to die to atone for your sins. It's your responsibility to stay alive until you've saved more people than you've killed." Now, Alvar does tend to take this to the extreme, counting even those that he failed to save as having died by his hand. But all that aside.

The Haunted One background has a feature that basically says "common people are wary of you, but they trust that you've seen some crap, so they're going to do what they can to help you on your way." The way we've basically been playing this is the reputation that Aragorn has in Bree in the Lord of the Rings. The people are super unsettled around him, but they know that he means them no harm.

This manifests in some pretty funny rp moments, as I tend to forget that the image of the character I'm playing is a haggard ranger who looks like he hasn't slept under a roof in the past month. This results in me, while trying to subtly intimidate hostile NPC's into cooperating, inadvertently convincing them that Alvar is going to just...

Eat Them.

Like this has happened at least twice now. Which is honestly quite fun to play with. -1 CHA character tries desperately to come across as kind and helpful, but the best he can muster is "I'm not the monster you need to be afraid of" lol. Anyway, my DM and I have come to the collective conclusion that, though he's gaining a positive reputation among the common folk of the campaign, the following is essentially how his enemies view him:

For today's propaganda, I shall give a detailed explanation of how Sky's species works. Because I might have been thinking about it, in the not so normal amount. It's detailed for sure :v

Anyway, like I said, Sky is a shape-shifter demon (tho her parents are humans, but that's a different can of worms...)

They can change their appearance, but can't change into animals completely, so if Sky wanted to change into them, he would still have to learn the 72 transformations.

They can however change into an animal-like demon forms, and that gives them perks of said species. She likes the lynx and monkey forms the best, because they give more agility. 

Shape-shifting wings is possible, but harder than changing hair colour, or even a tail, since humans have a tail bone, and so do demons since some of them do have actual tails. Sky likes having a tail, and will sometimes forget to shape-shift it out. And her tail actually gets broken and doesn't heal properly (that's why it's bent) in season 3, making them unable to shape-shift it out completely any more. They can only make it change shape, and become shorter or longer. 

Changing colour of her hair and skin is also a more advanced technique, since it needs the decrease or increase in melanin, while the other transformations just require the re-arrangement of his cells. Unnatural colours however are almost impossible to achieve without the aid of additional magic. Tho, Sky does tend to get a bit more pale when changing into a more animal-like form, but that's just a side effect of him not being fully in control of her powers.

The true form of a shape-shifter demon of their species is the one they're born with. So yes, despite their form being fluent, they do have one set original appearance. But, Sky has also something kind of a 'true' true form. It can manifest if their powers go unstable, her body gaining a monster-like gas-like appearance. It's very hard to land a hit on him while in this form, because your punch might just phase through their body. But, the mind of a demon in that state becomes just as scattered as their body, making it near impossible to reason with.

But even when Sky's form is stable, their cells aren't as neatly connected as human's to accommodate for the shape-shifting and make it easier. But that also causes them to be more prone to injuries and other physical issues, such as asthma and poor sight. And any injuries/scars are permanent, no changing that

Roleplay Ramblings: New Elements part 3

Character Options

So I’ve talked at length about what the new elemental planes are and what they mean, but now it’s time to get to the nitty-gritty and actually apply them to 1st edition, starting with the character options that players will actually be playing as in either the modern Lost Omens setting minus the edition change or in your own setting where you include these elements.

The first we have to focus on is new ancestries. While they are heritages in 2e, that doesn’t change the fact that we have two new geniekin planar scions running around, either being super rare individuals that lived before the re-emergence, members of bloodlines that spontaneously awakened to their ancestral heritage when the planes came back, or those that were born afterwards in the normal ways that planar scions typically gain their heritages.

These two ancestries are the ardande and talos, for wood and metal respectively, and since they were never mentioned in 1st edition you will have to homebrew them (or, you know, use the homebrew I made of them if you like). Thankfully pretty much every planar scion ancestry follows a similar sort of template for what abilities they get, with room for variant heritages and alternate traits, so you’ll have a decent starting position to work from. Additionally, consider that suli might also start drawing from those elements as well, though likely this will be more of a vibe thing as metal probably best evokes electricity or sonic if you can get away with it, while wood’s best energy type comparison is probably acid as a stand-in for poison.

Classes may have to be updated as well. However, there is a lot of ground already covered here , with wizards, oracles, and shamans all getting schools, mysteries, and spirits respectively centered around these aspects. Meanwhile, sorcerers and bloodragers could easily have the elemental bloodlines updated with metal and wood as options, as well as genie bloodlines for Zhura and Khizidar genies as well.

On a more minor note, having four new elemental lords means four new deities for your divine casters to play around with, requiring homebrewing for their domain, subdomain, and even potentially obedience lists.

Additionally, you may consider tweaking the kineticist to have a separate metal element like I did, as well as maybe slightly rework certain talents or talent lists. And for that matter don’t forget to tweak various other minor elemental options with other classes, such as the elementalist shifter, elemental rager, and so on.

Of course, we would be remiss to not talk about the various new elemental spells in Rage of the Elements, many of which explore the applications of the new elements, all of which makes for lovely conversion fodder. Of course, Rage of the Elements was the first hardback that uses the new Remastered paradigm for spellcasting. (And even then, original 2e had a slightly different interpretation of what spells belonged to which schools, but as long as you have a good understanding of what each First Edition school is meant to cover, you should have any trouble deciding which spell goes where. Also, while the elemental wizard schools do exist, they might need an update or trimming based on what each element represents in the new paradigm if you wanna go that far.

Even with such a brief summary as this, we can see the work that has been done and the work left to do for bringing these new elements into play in First Edition. However, tomorrow we’ll look into the more GM-side of things with new elemental monsters these planes provide, as well as more generally how elementals work between editions. Look forward to it!

Hi all. We're the Foxglove Garden, or just Foxgloves. We're a plural system made up mostly of introjects from our own creative works and roleplays.

We write, roleplay, play vidya games and TTRPGs, art, code, make music, and various other things. Not all of our creations are good, but we do our best. Our frequent fronters as of 4/30/25 are Kori, Alecto, the Continuum, and Aspen. Kori, (It/They), writes fantasy and sci-fi, draws, and pixel arts. Alecto (He/They) is practicing his chain stitch. the Continuum usually just vibe and sometimes help do chores. Aspen (any pronouns) codes. Jeongguk nods, a slight jerk of his head to acknowledge the statement. He sinks back when Alpha accepts it and extracts the boy from his chest to wake him further. Regardless of what Alpha wants, he knows Soojin gave him that name for a reason, used the last of her breath to do so. Jeongguk is going to find Kim Taehyung.

HELLO! Ive been meaning to make a general post so here it is!!

This is my shifting page where I main post about my recent shifts or cool things I discover in my journey, please dont expect anything philosophical from my page, I shift for shits and giggles and sometimes like to share my experience.

Ive shifted a couple times but I recently took a long break and only shifted a few times since then. I mainly shift to horror realities but I have a lot of other silly realities.

MY REALITIES…

ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE (TLOU / RES EVIL COMBO) - This is one of my main realities. I’ve been to this one A LOT but I found that I cant really stay here for too long. It’s really strange because I don’t feel how absolutely dreadful and draining it is to be there until I come to this reality, I NEED to make a post about this strange ass feeling bc I never heard anyone else talk about it.

ANYWAYS REALITY BREAK DOWN - Im a 19 year old student who was studying med in Iraq (IRAQ REP), during summer break i went to go visit my friend (GROUP SHIFT WOOPWOOP) who was in Japan, after like twoish weeks of being in japan, the outbreak happens. Im immune in this reality, and though I didnt script a solid plot it still follows the same flow; trying to find out where the viris came from and how other people react to contracting the virus. VERY science heavy IR, lots of up and down. currently, I am no where near finding out a cure or anything about the virus (BC WE KEEP GETTING SIDE TRACKED. WE ARE FORGETTING THE PLOT HERE!!!)

HERO ENGINEER IR - Basically I’m tony stark. I have a cool house in both Iraq and japan and I live with my best friend (who I’ve known since birth, original cuh). This reality is my MAIN MAIN, its kinda my waiting room mash up, its really chill and all my close friends are there. Really fun and cute :)

MHA IR - HAVEN’T BEEN HERE YET BUT IM REALLY EXCITED, my hero engineer IR is basically a mha IR but I’m grown (and I was in the support course). Im excited to use my quirk and stuff ILL MAKE A POST ABOUT IT IF U GUYS WANT HEHEH. I plan on making this a silly reality where I go every now and again, so it wont really be a main dr. UA is also more like a college instead of a high school since I do NOT wanna go through high school again.

FL-IR - I’m gatekeeping this one HAHA. Its horror and an overthrowing the government. There are ‘fates’ (kinda like angles) and ‘cursed’ (kinda like demons) and its this whole round a round of trying to over through the people who corrupted the fates land. ITS COOLER THEN IT SOUNDS I PROMISE, I have wrings and can fly in that IR so ofc its cool to me but you just have to stick with me.

AGHAST IR - A BOOK IM WRITING HEHE, its about this girl trying to get her sister back by entering this weird realm, but this realm is alive and trying to trap her in the world- lots of trippy things and A LOT OF CIRCUS HORROR. Im in the works of this book and I wanna shift here so I can maybe write better (I just wanna go and I’m making excuses) (I LOVE CIRCUS HORROR). Very vague about this one, mainly because Im still working on it and also because I’m gatekeeping (FOR NOW…).

I WILL KEEP YOU GUYS UPDATED ON ANY NEW IR I COME ACROSS OR ANYTHING I NEED TO UPDATE, i plan on visiting my zombie apocalypse reality VERY SOON, if i feel like it ill give you guys a silly run down on what happened.

- shifting comes naturally to everyone, don’t worry if you haven’t shifted YET or haven’t reached your goals YET. It will happen, so dont stress so much :)
