140 days of productivity: day 21/140
damn how can someone be productive and still drink the recommended amount of water per day? i'm struggling a lot with this. today i was very productive, very creative and very hardworking, but i drank maybe 1 L of water and thought about work during my entire outdoor walk (which was supposed to be a break to recharge). i'm surprised that even with little sleep, i haven't felt sleepy during the day. i'm in a good mood and happy most of the time. today I basically worked until my eyes hurt (I forgot to turn on the light) and also packed some candle orders.
needless to say i'm absolutely obsessed with baekhyun (sorry sehun... maybe i have a new utt? my inner teenager is screaming) and that i'll only be cured when he releases hello, world. sorry moots, you'll still see me talking about baekhyun — aka king of kpop — for a while...
💥: day 15/29 (probably ovulating since I'm feeling so energetic and alive 👀)
💧: 1 L (which is nothing since it was 36 degrees today)

🏃🏻♀️: walking (2,35 km)

caffeine addiction ❃ at first sight ❃ chapter 1
Bakugou Katsuki x Reader / Coffee Shop! AU
directory/m.list
next chapter ⇨
words: ~2.1k
It was love at first sight.
Bakugou remembers his first encounter with his first love like it was yesterday. He met her at a local café; it was small but quiet and cozy. The string lights in the small space were what caught his eye at first, meticulously placed to create ambient lighting. It was as if someone took the stars out of the sky and placed them around the café. But that was before he met her.
It’s weird for Bakugou to admit it, but she smelled so good.
Better than anything he’d ever smelled before. He was intoxicated. It was an aroma he’d experienced before, but it was so much more intense here. It was such a sweet smell that was warm and slightly bitter, with notes of roasted beans that carried a subtle hint of caramel. It was earthy and comforting with a touch of sweetness that lingered, wrapping the room in its cozy, familiar embrace. The scent was also both energizing and calming, a blend of warmth and depth that made the café feel even more intimate.
He knew he’d never love another after experiencing his first love.
Though, he was only four years old.
The name of his first love was coffee.
Bakugou had never been to this café before this. He knew either his mom or his dad would always visit this place before a particularly busy day–- especially days before a show. He explicitly noticed the way his dad would have two or three of these empty cups by his desk while sketching out his ideas or spending hours at his sewing table.
He saw the brown stains where the seam of the cup met the lid, and it was unlike anything he’d seen before. Bakugou likened it to how he’d imagine gasoline to look; he’d seen it recently, and it was clear. Highly disappointing. He lost his interest in cars after that fiasco.
It looked different from the milk he’d drink with his breakfast in the morning (for strong bones, his mom would repeat) and from the orange juice he drank with his lunch (for vitamin C, his dad would insist). He didn’t even know what vitamin C was. All he knew was that it was good for you. In what way? He had no clue.
As a kid, when Bakugou first smelled the dark concoction, he was in love. He asked his mom if he could take a sip, seeing this strange black liquid in the paper takeout cups his mom grabbed for herself and his dad.
His mom had agreed, but only let him have a little bit, knowing that it would make him become an even more of the irritating gremlin that he already was; his spiky tufts of blonde hair and red eyes that looked like they were ready to take over the world at his tender age. She didn’t think he’d like it– the brew she ordered was black. No sugar, no cream, nothing. Nothing that a typical kid would enjoy.
But when he took a sip of the coffee after his mother uttered a “Careful, it’s hot,” his eyes lit up like Newton realizing that gravity exists.
The apple that dropped onto the ground became a mild obsession for the four-year-old. The taste was unlike anything he’d ever had! The taste was bitter but acidic, and the smell of it alone was so beautiful–so aromatic, so relaxing.
When he asked his mom for more and she responded, “No, this is an adult drink. it’ll make you bounce off the walls too much,” he pouted for the rest of the day, sitting on the stool next to his dad with his cheeks puffed and tiny little arms crossed in a baby rebellion. His mom furrowed her brows, thinking about how weird it is for a kid to like coffee. When she’d ask her friends about it, they’d be like, “Ha! I let my daughter try some coffee, and her face wrinkled up like when she tried a lemon for the first time!”
But she just excused it to Bakugou being a weird kid. She wasn’t wrong– he was a weird child.
As he grew older, he was allowed to drink more and more coffee. His mom held the ability to drink coffee over his head like a hostage. He’d relent to taking more photos in the cute children’s version of designer clothes just for another tiny sip. However, his parents had to pay the price later when he was bouncing off the walls, ceilings, and every nearby human being.
Thus, he knew he’d be here today. In a café, brewing cups of coffee for random people. In his words, he’d say, “None of these shit cafés do it right. If I don’t do it, all the coffee ‘round here would be shit.” When hearing this answer, his friends laughed in his face and exposed his real reason to open a café. In reality, he put his time and effort into opening a coffee shop because he wanted to see people’s faces light up after taking their first sip of coffee– just like his face did.
-
Bakuou Katsuki had early, early mornings, waking up at 4 am to go to the gym before taking a quick shower and opening up his café on one of the less busy streets in the town. The place always opened up at 6:00 am sharp with his pride depending on it.
Today was a cold November weekday morning, a day like usual. His regulars came in asking for their usual order, but with coats sprinkled with melting snow and with slightly red noses. Rudolph would be proud. This morning, he was the only one working. It wasn’t a problem– not like it’s gonna be too busy, anyway. (It was going to be very busy. Bakugou is just insanely competent.)
He sat at his stool with a black beanie sat atop his head, a black ribbed sweater turtleneck stretched across his chest and muscled arms. He wore this under his café apron along with a pair of well-fitted slacks that spanned across his legs perfectly. The way he looked was a huge selling point in the café. Men and women would come just to flirt with him and grab a cup of coffee. Great for business. He waited for people to start waking up and coming in for a cup-- around 8 AM.
Bakugou scrubbed through the photos of coat designs his dad sent to his family group chat, putting a thumbs-up reaction to the ones that caught his eye. Recently, it seemed like his dad was getting new inspiration from Finding Dory. He wondered how a movie about a confused blue fish inspired his father, but he learned not to question the fashion industry too much as a child. Artists are insane.
Even as he thought this, his father responded to one of his messages in the chat, apparently confused by one of his suggestions as a change to one of the designs. He sighed and grabbed his sketchbook that was placed conveniently under the register along with a pencil and quickly sketched out the changes to the design with a practiced and experienced hand. He took a photo and sent it to the group chat, admiring his drawing before turning his phone off and slipping his sketchbook into its rightful place. He’d drawn it next to multiple other sketches of suggestions he had for his parents, pages and pages filled with sketches of croquis.
Artists are insane, indeed. But Bakugou was one of them, himself.
As soon as the ‘sent!’ notification noise of the sketch photo hit his ears, so did the ring of the door. In walked a woman who looked like she’d been through some shit.
She pushed down her mask, further revealing deep dark circles and teeth that were definitely chattering because of the cold. “Triple shot espresso over ice,” came out her voice, which also sounded like she’d been through it. Bakugou likened it to the grating of a skin's garbage disposal. A thin line of snot slowly dripped down her nose, and she quickly pulled up her mask in embarrassment.
Bakugou’s eyes avoided her face in politeness (and also because it was gross) and thus were drawn to her ears instead. Her earrings were a distinct design from one of Gucci’s lines–one of the more subtle ones. But he noticed it right away, seeing the long thread design with a pearl dropped at the bottom. Her open cream-colored trench coat also looked very familiar, but Bakugou couldn’t place his finger on it. He subtly raked his eyes over the coat to find a logo anywhere. He couldn’t find one. Her turtleneck looked nearly identical to his own.
But why the heck did she buy an espresso over ice if she was already freezing? He did it anyway. He’s seen weirder orders.
He didn’t let his analysis of her and her clothing interrupt his work, however. “Can I get a name for this order?” He asked, unnecessarily. There was nobody else in the café. He asked to satisfy his own curiosity.
She told him, shuffling through her book bag to grab her wallet. Her brows slightly raised in surprise upon hearing the price, and she handed him her credit card. This was when he saw the logo on her coat. Kindeki.
He immediately got to brewing her espresso.
In the corner of his eye, Bakugou saw you place all of your items on a window-side table. You brushed your fingers through your hair a little before twisting it and securing it into a claw clip. You’d taken off the mask completely, and he fully took in how tired you looked.
You placed your laptop on the table, but took a moment to bury your face in your hands. You took in and let out a deep breath before opening up your laptop to get ready to work.
Bakugou could almost feel your pain from the counter. The espresso was finished after a couple seconds, and he poured the hot liquid over some ice and placed it into a mug for you. He called your name, grabbing your attention. When you went to the counter to grab your coffee, Bakugou felt your hands slightly brush up against his. There was one thought in his mind: “Her hands are dry as fuck.”
Apart from your put-together outfit, the rest of you was visibly going through the wringer. In his mind, it looked like you drank one too many shots of vodka last night because one of your favorite characters in a TV show died, and you had a test the next day. Your tiredness was palpable. It made him feel like he was tired even though he had a full eight hours of sleep.
He watched you out of the corner of his eye for the next six hours you sat and worked in his café. He watched as you typed up a storm on your laptop, and sighed loudly before reading over your work. It was cute how you tapped your foot on the ground while thinking, lips tucked under your teeth whilst thinking. Or was it annoying? Bakugou couldn’t choose. At least it was in rhythm to the quiet lofi playing in the café.
About midway through your long stay in the café, Bakugou was in the current daily rush. People were coming in fast, and he was the only worker. Somehow, he was still able to give people their coffee in less than five minutes each. He definitely did not time himself and mentally shit on big coffee chains every time he finished working through an entire crowd by himself. And he absolutely did not gloat about his prowess and ability each time. Fuck you, Starbucks.
A couple minutes after the rush hour, as if it were planned (it was– you didn’t want to bother him even more during his rush hour), you went up to the counter to return the mug and ask for a cup of water. At this time, you also looked different. Bakugou’s eyes visibly widened and his eyebrows shot up his forehead.
Your hair was different, and you’d put on makeup that concealed your very dark under eyes. You even had the eyeshadow? highlighter? or something (Bakugou forgot what it was called) in the corner of your eyes. Your hair–did it always have those red streaks? Maybe he was just imagining it. It’s impossible for you to have dyed your hair in his café. Did you put in extensions or something? His mind flooded with questions as his eyes scanned your figure.
He didn’t verbally question it. He just gave you your cup of water and basked in his confusion. Where the fuck did you do your hair? When were you doing your makeup? He’s pretty sure he checked up on you every ten minutes or so, even during rush hour.
This woman’s efficiency is insane. She’s also pretty cute.

Lemon Ginger Infused Honey | Clover’s Cookbook
Hey everyone, it’s Clover here and this is the Lemon Ginger Honey Infusion!
Originally, this recipe was passed down to me through my mom who learned it from my paternal grandmother. We found around the time I was in third or fourth grade that over the counter medicine was starting to lose effect on me, so my grandma told my mom this recipe to see if it helps. And, to everyone’s relief, it did!
(Although, Mini Clover was not a fan of the taste originally—it’s grown on me immensely.)
My mom needed to tell me that it was “Magic Tea” to get me to drink it. And, after trying Theraflu a year or two later, I agreed that: “yes, it was magic because it was medicine that tasted better than anything else”. Now this infusion is my go-to cold cure.
(I also drank almost half of my batch that I made almost a year and a half ago when I was laid up in bed with the flu in March. That thing is very shelf-stable.)
Without any more preamble, here’s the recipe!
What you will need:
An airtight container
Fresh Lemons, I usually use three or four but it depends on the size of the container.
Fresh Ginger, I usually use a handful of ginger root but it depends on the size of the container.
Honey
How to make it:
1. Rinse and slice the lemons and ginger
You can shred the ginger if you like, but I usually slice it up whenever I use it. Shredding ginger takes a lot of time that I personally do not have—and our grater is a pain to wash.
2. Layer the sliced ginger and lemon on top of each other in the airtight container, getting as close to the top as possible.
I use an empty instant coffee container, if you want ideas for it. It is a bit larger than I need, since I’m the only one in the house that drinks this infusion when I’m sick, but the trade off is that I know it’s airtight and there will be enough for at least a year. You can use mason jars or any other airtight containers you have on hand. The old instant coffee jar is just my suggestion.
3. After layering the lemon and ginger in the airtight container, add the honey. You want to fill the honey all the way to the top of the container if possible. If you can’t, at least so it covers the top layer of the lemon-ginger tower.
You will probably be using all the honey in the bottle, just so you know. When I first did this myself, I was unaware how much honey I needed and had to go out and buy another bottle because the container was bigger than expected. So just a heads up.
4. Seal the airtight container and let sit out overnight then place it in the fridge a month before use.
So I was unaware until recently that, for max potency and a proper infusion of the ingredients, you want your honey infusions to sit for a month before use. I just ended up getting super lucky the past few times I made it because I replenish my infusion when the house runs out, not when I need it right away. So my suggestion is make it in late July or Early August, that way it sits the month and you have it for cold and flu season.
5. Add to your preferred tea when sick and drink it throughout the day. For me, doing this kicks whatever is brewing in my system—and usually works in about a day for the few people I’ve given the infusion to. But take it as long as you think you need it, you’re the only one who knows your body.
Why this works:
Lemon:
Lemon is high in vitamin C which helps boost the immune system and shorten the duration of colds.
Vitamin C is also helpful to lower your risk of heart disease and stroke (healthline.com), which aren’t important to this cold cure, but good to know anyway.
Hot Lemon Water is also good for sore throats and congestion in a 2008 study, as per medicalnewstoday.
Ginger:
Ginger is good for the gut as it helps settle stomachs, and the bitterness of the root kicks your digestive system into overdrive to clear out what the body considers to be possibly poison due to the taste (any Holistic Herbalism podcast episode where Ginger is involved).
Ginger’s anti inflammatory properties also help reduce pain and inflammation with a sore throat you usually get with a cold, as per this medicalnewstoday article (link here).
Ginger is also antiviral and antibacterial just like lemons are. So it helps get rid of any unwanted viruses or bacteria building up because of the cold, flu, etc.
Important note about ginger—if you or a loved one is on blood thinners don’t take ginger. Ginger’s chemical compounds will have a reaction with your blood thinners and make the blood super thin. This will cause excessive bleeding that is potentially life threatening.
Honey:
Honey is a natural cough suppressant and throat-soother. It is also antimicrobial. A Harvard Health article (link here) indicated that honey works well for upper respiratory viruses (such as a cold) and some studies observed that taking honey shortened the duration of the cold in some participants.
Conclusion:
Well that’s it! That’s my Lemon Ginger Honey Infusion that I have with my tea when I’m sick. My preference as a tea pairing with this concoction is usually Moroccan Mint, Peace of Mind Tea, or just normal green tea.
It depends on what we have in the house.
I usually pour it into the tea with the intent of helping me feel better soon as well. Just to add a boost of magick to an already great cold cure.
Have any of you tried this before? Do you have alternatives for this cold cure? If so, tell me!
Thank you all for reading and have a wonderful day!

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7
September 25
You tried to sleep but you couldn’t. You moved to your side and another but you still felt uncomfortable. You were around 22 weeks pregnant now and your belly was starting to protrude.
“Joel, baby..” You shook Joel gently trying to wake him up.
“Hmm? What’s wrong, baby?” Joel answered you with a sluggish voice.
“I can’t sleep.” You moved closer to him.
“C’mere.” His arms reached you and pulled you to his chest.
“Tomorrow’s your birthday and I haven’t got you any presents. Do you have something you want?”
“Nothin’, baby. Just want you and our baby healthy.” He was half asleep.
“Okay.”
September 26 - Morning
“Sarah, sweetie, can you wake your dad up, please?” You asked Sarah while cooking breakfast.
“Dad! Alarm! Wake up!” Sarah knocked on the door.
“Morning, birthday boy.” You looked over to your shoulder while Joel walked down the stairs as he buttoned his pants.
“Morning, baby.” He gave you a kiss and rubbed your protruding belly.
“Happy birthday, Joel.” You cupped his cheeks.
“Happy birthday, dad.” Sarah poured a glass of orange juice into three glasses and put them on the dining table.
“Thank you, babygirl.” Joel kissed Sarah’s head and poured himself a cup of coffee.
“I was gonna make birthday pancakes for you but I forgot to buy them. Pregnancy brain.” You scoffed as you put the plates of eggs and bacon on the table.
“You know I don’t really like pancakes.” Joel ate his breakfast.
“I know you don’t like them.” You smirked to Sarah.
“Yeah, it was for my benefit.” Sarah added.
“Dad, vitamin C.” Sarah pushed a glass of orange juice to Joel.
Joel rolled his eyes and drank his juice. You laughed at Sarah's controlling behavior.
“You get your, uh, homework done? Fractions?” Joel tried to make a conversation with his daughter.
Sarah shrugged and chuckled.
“How old are you again?” Sarah asked.
“36.” Joel chewed his bacon.
“Gonna have to wear diapers soon.” Sarah joked.
“Who says he doesn’t already?” You teased Joel.
He gave you a side eye and took something from his mouth.
“Shell.”
“Oh my God. I’m sorry.” You covered your face in embarrassment.
“Calcium.” Sarah’s answer made you feel better.
“Thanks, Sarah.” You chuckled.
“I got you, mom.” Sarah pointed at you.
“You two really are gangin’ up on me. Please let it be a boy.” Joel extended his arms to rub your belly.
“No! I want a sister!” Sarah insisted.
You and Joel laughed.
“Is there enough for Tommy?” Joel asked.
“I can make another plate.” You stood up but Joel stopped you.
“No, no. Eat your breakfast. He can grab somethin’ on the road.”
The three of you looked to the door as you heard someone was coming in.
“Ay! You’re still alive, you old fucker.” Tommy came in and patted Joel on the back.
Tommy made his way to the kitchen and looked around.
“I thought we was havin’ pancakes.”
“Sorry, Tommy.” You apologized for your mommy brain.
“We’ll pick you somethin’ up on the road. Concrete guys gonna be there?”
“Yeah, they said maybe.” Tommy opened the fridge to find something he could eat.
“Maybe? We can’t frame until we pour. We’re not gettin’ paid until we frame.”
“Well, we could bring someone else on, get the job done faster.”
“No, no. I’m not splittin’ this job. I barely wanna split it with you. We could work a double.” Joel insisted.
“Literally? Today?” Sarah was getting upset.
“Joel..” You were upset too but you couldn't stop him from working hard because with the baby coming, you would need more money for the living expenses.
“I know. I’d be done by nine. By nine, right?” He tried to get assurance from Tommy.
“Yeah.” Tommy shrugged.
“I’ll bring back a cake. I promise.” Joel promised.
*On the radio*… continued disturbances in Jakarta, but are advising U.S. citizens…
“Jakarta. Where is that, Middle East?” Joel asked.
“Doesn’t ring a bell. It’s definitely a country.” Tommy was also not sure.
“Or maybe part of Asia?” You added.
“Jakarta isn’t a country. Being a part of Asia isn’t mutually exclusive with being a country, and in fact, it’s the capital of Indonesia.” Sarah proudly answered.
“Shit. Hope for us yet.” Tommy drank his coffee.
“Language.” You glared at Tommy and he chuckled.
“Finish up quick, your mom has an appointment at the hospital. We’ll drop you off. You got seven minutes.”
You got up and put the dishes in the sink.
“Your T-shirt’s inside out.” Sarah finished her last bite.
“Shit.” Joel rolled his eyes.
“Joel, language.” You gave him the evil eye. You didn’t want your baby to hear curse words even before it was born so you always got sensitive when anyone cursed.
“He’s losin’ it.” Tommy shook his head.
You walked them out and stood behind the car as Joel moved his stuff to the truck.
“Hey, baby. I’m sorry I can’t go with you today. Call me if you need anythin’ alright?” He kissed your forehead and rubbed the sides of your belly.
“Okay.” You nodded and smiled.
“I’ll see you tonight.” He walked to open the door for Sarah.
“See you, mom.” You kissed Sarah’s cheek.
You continued your morning routine and got ready to the hospital. You were excited because it was the day to know the baby’s gender. After you got everything ready and finished all the housework, you got into your car and drove to the hospital.
“Congratulations! It’s a boy!” The doctor pointed at the monitor showing you your baby’s genitals.
“A boy? My husband wants a boy.” You cried in happiness.
“Well, I guess God answered his prayers.”
You couldn’t believe you were having a boy. You talked with Joel and the two of you had been wanting a boy. You were so excited and decided to go shopping for baby products at the mall. You bought some blue baby clothes, socks, and other things. Then an idea came to your mind.
“I haven’t bought anything for my husband’s birthday. Maybe this is his birthday present.” You thought to yourself.
So you decided to buy a gift box and put the blue baby shoes inside it. You were going to give him this as a birthday present.
September 26 - Night
You and Sarah watch TV in the living room waiting for Joel to come home. It was 10 pm and he hadn’t come home. You were getting sleepy but you forced your eyes open until you heard the sound of keys jingling.
“You locked the door for once. Good job.” Joel was finally home.
“Yeah, I guess the mommy brain is working today.” Your drowsiness was suddenly gone.
“You’re home.” Sarah turned the TV off.
Joel groaned and sat beside you on the sofa. He rubbed his eyes. He looked really tired and you felt really bad towards him. You didn’t like seeing him tired and working too hard to make ends meet for you and your family. But you couldn’t do anything. You had offered him to help but he didn’t want you to work. He knew how hard it was being pregnant so he didn’t want you to suffer more.
“It’s 10.” Sarah sounded disappointed.
“I know. They gave us the wrong size of the headers. That doesn’t mean anything to ya. I’m sorry.” Joel apologized.
“Where’s the cake?” Sarah had been looking forward to celebrating her dad’s birthday.
“Shit.” Joel forgot to buy the birthday cake.
“Joel.” You glared at him as you put your hand on your belly protectively.
“Sorry, baby. Daddy didn’t mean that.” He rubbed your belly and talked to the baby.
“I’ll get us one tomorrow.” Joel promised Sarah again.
“Swear, or you don’t get your present.”
“You got your dad a present?” You raised your eyebrows.
“You got me a present?” Joel was surprised too.
“Swear.” Sarah repeated.
“On my life.” Joel swore.
“Wow.” Sarah gave Joel a box with his fixed watch inside.
“Fixed it for you.”
“Did you?” Joel raised his watch near his ear to check.
“What?”
“I don’t hear anything.” His face was confused. Then he laughed.
“That was lame.” You laughed and slapped Joel at his joke.
“You’re lame.” Joel got Sarah for a second.
“Yeah, I know.” Joel laughed at his own joke.
Then the three of you watched the DVD that Sarah borrowed from the Adlers, your neighbor. Joel put his arms around you and you leaned on him. Sarah didn’t want to be left out so she leaned on you and you put your arms around her. Sarah promised not to fall asleep but she fell asleep not long after the movie started.
“Sarah’s asleep.” You told Joel.
“I’ll put her to bed.” Joel carried Sarah to her bedroom and tucked her in.
He kissed her forehead and went downstairs to find you massaging your legs.
“You okay?” Joel looked concerned.
“Hmm.” You kept massaging your calves.
Since you got pregnant, you often felt pain on your legs but today the pain was worse. You thought it might be because you spent a lot of time walking at the mall shopping for baby products.
He sat beside you and took your legs to his lap to massage them.
“Think I walked too much today. It hurts.” You rubbed his upper arm.
“Don’t force yourself too much, baby. Anyway, what did the doctor say? Everythin’ great?” He asked.
“About that.. I got you a present too.” You took out the box and gave it to him.
“Really? I told you, you don't have to get me anythin’.”
“Come on. Here.” You gave Joel a navy blue box tied with sky blue ribbon on top of it.
“Open it.” Your heart was beating faster.
“Thank you.” Joel kissed you and opened the box.
“Baby socks?” He looked confused for a moment. Then he realized something.
“Wait. It's blue. We’re having a boy?” His face lightened up.
You nodded and opened your arms for him. He hugged you tightly and kissed your temple.
“Hey peanut, it’s daddy. You’re daddy’s best birthday gift ever. Can’t wait to meet you. Be good to your mama, okay?” Joel came closer to your belly and talked to his baby boy.
“Oh!” You gasped.
“What’s wrong?” Joel got worried.
“He kicked.” You giggled.
“You can’t wait to meet daddy too, don’t you?” Joel chuckled and rubbed your belly where the baby kicked.

National Lemonade Day
National Lemonade Day is dedicated to the refreshing summer drink. Lemons and sugarcane are both native to India, so it is likely that the modern drink is derived from a drink Indians drank called nimbu pani. Traditional or cloudy lemonade is popular in the United States, and consists of lemons and a sweetener, usually sugar. Pink lemonade adds flavors such as raspberry, strawberry, or other fruits to the mix, and it is rumored it was invented by a man who accidentally dropped cinnamon candies into his lemonade. Another form of lemonade is clear lemonade, which is popular in the United Kingdom, and it is more like a soft drink. It is many times used with beer to make shandy, and as a base for mixed drinks. While lemonade can be healthy because of its vitamin C content, the high level of sweeteners that are used to make it tends to negate its health benefits.
How to Observe
Sit back, relax, and have some lemonade. There are various ways to make your own lemonade, and here is one idea. You could also check around your neighborhood for lemonade stands, as there is a pretty good chance that there will be many set up to celebrate the day. If you have children or grandchildren you could help them set up their own stand. Lemonade Day is a group not directly connected with National Lemonade Day, but they help to get kids involved in starting lemonade stands, with the goal of fostering an entrepreneurial spirit and teaching business acumen. This may be a good day to look into getting your community involved with their programs.

Went to bed at 1, woke up at noon, went back to bed at 3 and slept until 7. Also drank an entire 1.5 liter bottle of orange juice. Hope that the overdose of fluids, vitamin C, and sleep lets this sickness dispel as quickly as possible.

CLAMP Herbal Tea Diary January 1998
[Rosemary]: So, my next job will be with CLAMP.
Marigold: CLAMP? Isn't that supposed to mean "fastener" or something? That's weird.
[Rosemary]: It's not "fastener", it actually means "pile of potatoes".
Marigold: Either way, it's still weird.
[Rosemary]: Marigold, don't speak about our employers like that.
[Marigold]: Even if they're our "employers", they're just those 3-inch tall figures, right?
[Rosemary]: Whether they're 3 inches or 1 inch tall, they're still our employers.
[Rosemary]: Alright, let's get to work. We need to check on CLAMP's living conditions… oh dear, this won't do. This could make them sick.
[Marigold]: Lack of sleep, lack of exercise, and lack of happiness.
[Rosemary]: We need to help them feel better… I know, let's make herbal tea.
[Marigold]: It looks like they only have black tea, coffee, and Japanese tea here.
[Rosemary]: Of course, those are all good options with caffeine, but drinking too much of them can upset your stomach.
[Marigold]: Well, the four girls here have already upset their stomachs from drinking too much.
[Rosemary]: They're our employers, dear. Now, let's make that herbal tea.
[Marigold]: Alright, let's get started on our first task.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rosemary's Recipe
2 parts Peppermint
1 part Rosemary
1 part Rose Hips
1 part Fennel
This is a herbal tea to drink before work. It's meant to be consumed after eating a proper breakfast. Peppermint refreshes the mind and body and also helps regulate the digestive system. Rosemary is called the "tea of rejuvenation". Additionally, rosehip has ten times more vitamin C than lemon, which helps purify the blood, and fennel helps with indigestion and obesity. Fennel can be a bit difficult to drink for some people, so I added a little extra peppermint. How does it taste?
Satsuki Igarashi: "I can drink it. I don't dislike it, but having more Rosemary may not be good. It has a refreshing aftertaste."
Nanase Ohkawa: "I like it. It's delicious. I usually don't like peppermint, but I like this one."
Tsubaki Nekoi: "The smell of fennel might bother some people. Does it smell like curry? But it's delicious when it's warm."
Mokona: "I can drink it. I like it. But I would like it even more if there was a little less fennel in it."
Rosemary's Diary: As I suspected, it seems like the Fennel is a bit hard to drink. Maybe I should reduce it a bit more. But I'm glad they drank it all. Let's do our best again next time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Marigold's Recipe
2 part Eucalyptus
1 part Yerba Mate
"I haven't tried this blend before, but I added eucalyptus and yerba mate to it to stay healthy, since it's been cold lately. Eucalyptus has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects and is said to be effective against influenza… As for yerba mate, it's said to be good for physical fatigue and reduced concentration according to a book I read…
Satsuki Igarashi: "Bitter!! But if you put a ton of honey in it, it's somehow drinkable… But still, it's bitter!"
Nanase Ohkawa: "I can't drink it, the smell is really strong. I'm sorry."
Tsubaki Nekoi: "I feel like I'm going to die, it's so awful. It's like there are burnt leaves in it."
Mokona: "It's so bitter that I feel like I'm going to die! It's like being killed."
Marigold's Diary: What's this?! I worked hard to make this! Well, I know eucalyptus and mate have a bit of a unique smell and taste, but still! . . . sigh. . . Let me try drinking it. . . gulp Ugh, it's bitter. . . Next time, I'll make something even more delicious!

Drinking tea can lower the risk of cardiovascular disease
People often say that drinking tea is good for your health and can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease because of the beneficial effects of tea polyphenols on the body. But is there scientific evidence to support this claim? Tian Ying, Chief Physician of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Beijing's Tiantan Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University, will provide insight on this topic.
Does drinking tea really help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease?
Yes, it has scientific basis. A study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association (JAHA) found that drinking tea can help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
The study analyzed the relationship between changes in high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels in the blood of over 80,000 Chinese people and tea consumption over a six-year follow-up period.
The results showed that people who regularly drank tea had a slower decline in HDL-C levels and an 8% lower risk of cardiovascular disease. HDL-C is a "good cholesterol" that corresponds to "bad cholesterol" - LDL-C. LDL-C is easily deposited on the walls of blood vessels, causing atherosclerosis, while HDL-C has a protective effect on blood vessels.
In fact, this is all due to the action of tea polyphenols. Tea polyphenols are antioxidants that can be anti-inflammatory, change the viscosity of blood, reduce blood lipids, make blood vessels more elastic, prevent microvascular rupture, and long-term consumption can make the heart and blood vessels healthier, reducing blood lipids and preventing cardiovascular disease.
How to drink tea for cardiovascular health?
Green tea: Green tea has a higher content of tea polyphenols and can slightly lower the risk of cardiovascular disease in women.
Oolong tea: Oolong tea can lower the risk of cardiovascular disease in men more, and older people who drink tea regularly can greatly reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease mortality.
To achieve the preventive effect of cardiovascular disease, you should drink at least 3-4 cups per day, with each cup being 220-230 milliliters, and drink at least 4-5 times a week. Do not drink too much at one time, but drink tea continuously in small amounts every day.
Note: Drinking tea cannot replace the role of medication. It is only a method to assist in making our body healthier. If you have cardiovascular disease, you should still seek treatment from a specialized doctor in a hospital.
8 types of tea that should not be consumed:
1.Strong tea: Overly strong tea can cause discomfort to the heart because tea leaves contain caffeine, theophylline, and other substances. Also, if you drink a lot of strong tea, the tannic acid in it will react with the iron in food to form insoluble substances that will hinder iron absorption.
2.Moldy tea: Tea leaves become moldy due to contamination by microorganisms such as Aspergillus and Penicillium. The tea brewed from moldy tea leaves has no tea aroma and can cause harm to the human body, such as causing dizziness and diarrhea. Moldy tea leaves generally have white mold spots on the surface and smell damp and musty, especially when brewing. Tea leaves should be stored in a dry place to prevent mold.
3.Tea with odors: Tea leaves contain terpenes, which are porous and easily absorb odors from other things. Some odors may contain toxins, such as the odor of paint and camphor, which can harm the human body. Tea leaves should be stored separately from odorous foods.
4.Over-brewed tea: Brewing tea for too long not only gives tea a dark color and poor taste but also reduces the nutritional value of the tea due to the oxidation of vitamins and amino acids in the tea leaves. In addition, tea that has been left for too long is easily contaminated by microorganisms in the environment, making it unhygienic.
5.Raw tea: Raw tea refers to unrolled green tea leaves that are dried directly after withering. This type of tea has the same components as fresh leaves and has a strong raw green flavor. Elderly people who drink this type of tea are very likely to experience stomach pain due to its strong irritation to the stomach mucosa. Young people may also feel discomfort in the stomach after drinking it, commonly known as "stomach scraping." Raw tea should not be brewed directly. Instead, it can be put in an oil-free iron pan and slowly roasted over low heat to remove the raw green flavor. It can be consumed after a slight roast fragrance is produced.
6.Overheated tea: Tea is generally brewed with boiling water, but it should not be consumed when it is too hot. Otherwise, it may burn the mucous membranes of the mouth and esophagus, causing ulcers. Over time, it may induce oral or esophageal cancer.
7.Burnt tea: If tea leaves are over-roasted during the production process, they will produce a burnt flavor. This type of tea has fewer effective nutrients and the components that determine the taste of the tea are destroyed to a greater extent. It may also contain certain carcinogens.
8.Overnight tea: Overnight tea contains trace amounts of amino acids, sugars, and other nutrients that become nutrients for bacteria and mold to grow. In addition, various nutrients such as tea polyphenols and vitamins inthe tea will be oxidized and decomposed, reducing the nutritional value of the tea. Drinking overnight tea is not recommended because it may cause gastrointestinal discomfort and increase the risk of bacterial infections. It is best to prepare fresh tea each time you want to drink it.
Tips for drinking tea:
1.Long-term tea consumption can help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
2.Drink at least 3-4 cups of tea per day, with each cup being 220-230 milliliters, and drink at least 4-5 times a week.
3.Drinking tea cannot replace the role of medication.
4.These 8 types of tea are best avoided: strong tea, moldy tea, tea with odors, over-brewed tea, raw tea, overheated tea, burnt tea, and overnight tea.

Tips to Prepare for Labral Repair & Hip Impingement Surgery
Hey Guys!
I wanted to share my tips for preparing for labral repair and hip impingement correction surgery. If you've read some of my prior posts you may have seen that when the surgeon went into my hip he actually did not find a tear; my tissue was perfectly intact.
So even though I didn't get the labral repair, my prepping for surgery tips remain the same because that is the surgery I was preparing for. Also, as far as recovery, I'm still following the same protocol as someone who did get a labral repair because I still underwent a surgery and I still got the extra bone growth shaved down to address the hip impingement.
Okay so here are my Surgery Prep Tips:
Enjoy Life :) I decided to get my surgery before the start of summer because that worked best with my work schedule, but I was sad about having to miss out on many summer activities. I love the summer. So I did as many fun things as I wanted to do before the surgery so I wouldn't feel as sad about what I would be having to miss during recovery.
WORKOUT! Surgeons call this pre-hab. Strengthening the muscles surrounding your hips and legs as best you can will only help you during recovery. The muscle memory will still be there when you start physical therapy and start walking properly be there. During my first two weeks of PT, my PT asked if I was athletic because I was able to do the exercises better than she expected I guess lol
Eat Healthy. A few months prior to surgery I tried to kick my health stuff up a notch. I've already been trying to be more intentional about what I am eating over the past few years anyway, but 2-3 months prior to surgery I was trying to revv up my Vitamin C and Vitamin D. I drank green juices a few times a week, took a multivitamin each day, tried to eat a proper serving of vegetables each day, lowered my alcohol intake (probably a month before surgery), and tried to drink enough water each day to make sure my body was hydrated going into surgery.
Create a Peaceful Recovery Space. I knew I was going to be in my room majority of the day for a few months. So I decluttered my space and re-organized and/or added things that would be peaceful to look at (ex. my plants & candles)
Put Important Things within Reach. All of the things I would need, I tried my best to put within reach of my bed. I received a "grabber" in my hip kit from the hospital to help me grab things within reach since I wasn't able to bend or twist much.
Consider a Mini-fridge & Microwave in Room. I live in a 2-story apartment with the kitchen on a different floor than my bedroom so a mini-fridge in my room was essential. In there I had a brita water pitcher, fruits, and other things I wanted to snack on.
Consider a Removable Shower Head. I had got one, but didn't use it because I tried to install it the night before and I couldn't get the old shower head off. And then when I went to shower after surgery I was able to do so with help from my mom so I just let the removable shower head go, but install it if you can because it would be really helpful.
Ask Surgical Team about Hip Kit. So the social work team at the hospital handled ordering items to help me with recovery such as a shower chair and a raised toilet seat. They also told me that I would receive a Hip Kit from the hospital the day of surgery. This Hip Kit is VERY important because it includes items to help you reach for things and put on your clothes and shoes since you aren't supposed to bend much. BUT when I was done with surgery they were saying goobye and I was like "wait where is my hip kit?" They were looking at me like HIP KIT?!?! So apparently someone didn't communicate with the OT department who was responsible for putting the kit together and they had to put it together last minute because I wasn't leaving without one. If they don't provide one, you can order one online.
Stock up on Gatorade and Meal Prep. The gatorade has a lot of electrolytes to help w/ recovery (they even had me drink one the morning of surgery). I had my mom to cook for me, but even she got tired of cooking lol. It would have been nice if I cooked as much as I could and froze the meals to have them ready to go.
Get Ice Packs. I had a small ice pack, but needed to order a bigger one during my first week of surgery to cover my thigh and hip at the same time.
Have Things to Do. You may get REALLY BORED. I definitely did. So I made sure to have things ready to keep me busy. Books to read, shows/movies to watch, games to play, etc etc.
I hope this is helpful and if you have anything to include from your experience or have any questions feel free to comment 😊😊😊

I know I'm old but.. is 39 really old enough to have to take half a pharmacy every day? This isn't even all of them, and on top of this I take multi-vitamins, biotin, and additional vitamin C and D per doctor's orders. I have to spend all day meticulously taking pills at different times so they don't interact with other pills that I have to take as well. I was always really healthy when I was younger, or so I thought. I was very slim and athletic. Extremely active. Ran 1 mile per day, went hiking at least twice a week, even during colder weather. In fact I really enjoyed hiking in snow. I didn't smoke, I drank lots of water, had a healthy diet. I did have some struggles with other vices but that's long past. If turns out that I was dealing with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, in addition to permanent liver damage caused by a near fatal car accident at age 9.
I got diagnosed with EDS in 2018, when I was pregnant with my 3rd child. I had never even heard of it before that. I was crushed when I discovered all of my kids have it too.
I also dealt with a cancer scare in 2015. The doctor was able to remove the cancerous cells and kept monitoring me. As of now it seems the cancer has returned and i will likely have a full hysterectomy in my near future.
This one came out of left field; severe hypothyroidism. I was getting routine blood work done and next thing I know I'm on levothyroxine for life.
Then there's these lovely seizures! At the beginning of March this year, I was settling into bed to go to sleep for the night when I started feeling.. strange. Like i was sinking into some kind of nothingness. I don't really know how else to explain it. I called for my husband, and the next thing i know I'm in a hospital room and two days have passed. I was in the midst of status epilepticus and had to be taken to hospital via ambulance. Apparently I would sometimes mutter things, asking about my family. My kids, husband, and cat.
Month later I had to be hospitalized again and they increased the seizure medication I have to take. I still have seizures, ALL the time.. but no more status epilepticus at least. But I'm now on a very high dose of Keppra (at least my neurologist says it's a high dose.) Still aren't sure why I started having seizures. I have to go to an epilepsy center at the Mayo Clinic and get admitted for a week while they run a bunch of tests. I can't stand the thought of being away from home and my loves for that long.
And of course, I have mental health struggles. I'm doing the best I ever have mentally these days, but I was a real mess when I was younger. Diagnosed with anxiety disorder at age 7, depression at age 17, and PTSD a couple years later. I used to be prescribed benzos for my anxiety, and they worked, but I decided it was best to stop taking them due to their potential for mental and physical dependence. Having my body be addicted to something and suffering withdrawal symptoms if i don't have it is one of my biggest fears. I switched to something else after a gradual taper and I'm so glad I did. It made me realize how much they were turning me into a zombie. I think I would rather have panic attacks than be in that situation again.
i dunno why I typed this out. It's not really something I'm intentionally putting out into the world in hopes people read it. I guess it's more like just a diary entry, kinda summarizing how quickly my life changed out of nowhere.

I am so glad people are finally studying and publishing about this. I had an awful time in my first three months of long COVID and it included brain fog among many other symptoms.
In my case, my brain fog mostly cleared up and I got back to normal. A lot of other ppl I was interacting with in online support groups seemed to struggle more and for longer.
I am not 100% sure what I did that helped me recover, vs. if I just got lucky, but I did try a number of things:
I ate a lot of fatty fish, mainly sprats, which I chose because they were tiny and I had little appetite so I could eat them one at a time, and they were canned so I didn't need to prepare them. Fatty fish are high in omega 3 which is important both for brain health and immune system function.
I drank a lot of fenugreek tea, which acts as a blood thinner and also helps to regulate blood sugar, in addition to having a high antioxidant capacity.
I drank tulsi (holy basil) and common sage (Salvia officinalis) tea, both of which have been shown to have cognitive benefits including protecting against cognitive decline and having anti-anxiety effects.
I drank hibiscus tea, which acts as an ACE inhibitor, helping to reduce inflammation and lower blood pressure, acting on the same system associated with the receptors COVID attaches to, a system that often gets dysregulated during and/or following a COVID infection.
I avoided carbs, especially refined carbs, because they seemed to make my symptoms worse. The one carb I did eat daily was fresh fruit, I mainly ate oranges which I ate slice-by-slice because it was a way to consume a small amount of food and get all my vitamin C for the day.
I drank black tea every day, which I usually do, and tried to drink the same amounts at the same times of day so as to stabilize my caffeine intake. Caffeine may have some neuroprotective effects but it can be destabilizing if you have an erratic caffeine consumption. Tea also has other benefits including a high antioxidant capacity and may protect cardiovascular health.
Other things I ate included sheep/goat cheese, usually that Bulgarian white cheese in tubs or similar Greek or Turkish cheeses. These cheeses also act as an ACE inhibitor. And I also ate nuts and seeds. I ate these because I had little appetite and these foods were both calorie-dense and micronutrient-dense, and so I wanted to get as much energy and nutrition as I could even when I wasn't able to eat much.
I don't know for sure that these things I did helped me, but I'm pretty good at listening to my body. I would pay attention to how I felt after eating / drinking certain things and only continue with things that made me feel better, and stop things that made me feel worse.
The above things also stood out because I found I was craving them and I found I often don't want all of them when healthy. For example when healthy, I find Hibiscus tea makes me feel bad and I am averse to it. I also am normally able to eat carbs just fine. And although I normally like fenugreek tea, I usually find I only want a little bit of it, and when I was sick with long COVID I drank about twice as much and felt like it was making me feel even better.
I also have been validated by discovering some mechanisms in my research, connecting the above foods and herbal teas, to mechanisms that have been used successfully to treat people with COVID or long COVID, like the blood thinners and ACE inhibitors.
Researchers have discovered that leaky blood vessels, together with a hyperactive immune system may be the underlying cause of brain fog in people with long covid. They suggest their discovery is important for the understanding of brain fog and cognitive decline – difficulty with thinking, memory or concentration – seen in some people with the condition. It is hoped the findings will help with the development of treatments in the future.
To Summarize:
Long Covid sufferers experience symptoms like forgetfulness and concentration issues due to leakiness in brain blood vessels, according to research findings.
Scientists from Trinity College Dublin and FutureNeuro confirm that Long Covid patients with brain fog have disrupted blood vessels in their brains, making the neurological symptoms measurable.
Blood vessel leakage in the brain, along with an overactive immune system, may be the key drivers of brain fog in Long Covid patients, leading to potential changes in understanding and treating post-viral conditions.
I can't find a single right-wing news source covering this.

Glow-Up & Weight Journal:
TW: Please do not read this if you're struggling with an ED or any sort of mental health issue. This is not an ED account, this is my personal weight and glow up journal.
Day # 4
Weight - 213.4 lbs.
"It's time to write a new story."
Hello tumblr!
So I went to the store and accidently bought 2 bottles of vitamin D lols.. It happens I guess? I don't mind it for now but I'll buy some other vitamins and supplements.
I drank so much water today (unintentionally). Like I have this bottle that holds 2000ML and I drank the whole thing before 8PM which is insane to me. I don't think I've ever drank this much water? I had a sandwich and then some food my mom made today but that's all I've had so far. I'm not entirely hungry today but that might've been because my period is coming in a few days. Sometimes I get worried about sharing stuff on this but it's literally my blog so ,,,, if you hate it please leave.
I have,, pissed so much today. After I got off work (which btw was horrid) I cleaned up a bit and did some yoga. I've been thinking of getting a Vogue Magazine subscription but also I need to save so I can't really waste money like that. Really hoping this melatonin hits soon because gosh I cannot stand one more night with falling asleep at 1-3AM. I literally woke up late today and had like 5 mins to get my computer set up for work. Forever thankful that I don't work on Monday because I plan to do my hair over the weekend.
C has been on my ass lately about my coping skills and low key he did not need to go that hard on me but it's ok because this is his job. K and S (the girls I'm going on my trip with) have been super supportive though! They're my main motivation on this whole glow up journey because I don't want to disappoint them with my looks. My whole life I've never been attractive so this is a new step for me.
My last pay from my old job hit today and I barely have $100 left from it,, my gosh (originally $680). My new job pay hits this Tuesday I think? I don't know actually I should check that with my agent.
Anyway I think that's it for now, aside from being obsessed with finding my style of course. (I've been looking at Lemon8 and Pinterest like a freak omg).
Bbbbyyyyeeeeee~

Ive been so depressed lately its insane.
I feel bad, i was so much smaller when me and my bf got together and ive let myself go. Its unfair to him. If im not gonna get smaller for myself i need to get smaller for him.
Also my mom has been accidentally making me feel worse. The last 2 times ive seen her shes talked about how my little sisters have lost weight. I cant help but feel like shes trying to make me feel like shit. I refuse to be the biggest in my family.
I cleaned my room so im feeling alot more motivated in life. Unfortunately yesterday i fucked my sleep schedule is just fixed and woke up today at like 1am. Its ok tho rn ive only drank water so its a good way to start. Im gonna pop my vitamins and begin my f@st.
Since my binge 3d has been back im gonna just try to make it to 12 hours, eat maybe like 300-400 cxls and then f@st for 24 hours.
I need to finish off my chai tmmrw tho so i can go back to strictly green tea.
Im so exhausted and tired of binging. Ive lost almost all progress ive made. I need to find a way to distract myself. I need melatonin so i can just sleep. Im gonna make a post ab things to do instead of eat. At this point my binge 3d is back to how it was years ago before i fixed it. Ive overcame my bul1m1@ so ive been just digesting all the insane amounts of c@ls.
Ive always had the idea to make a fitness page known either tiktok or YouTube, issue is id have to pretend to be healthy while r3str1ct1ng.. itd keep me busy and id be forced to stick to it. Itd also be a great way to deter my family and friends from suspecting @n@ to be back. The absolute dream wld be some clout and get the brand deals for the diet tea and shit haha. Idk i probably wont as that would include showing my body off to the internet and im terrified of that.. also id probably get canceled 💀 especially if my 3d were to be found out. Idk i managed to hide my 3d from everyone before 😭😭.
Im feeling alot better after thping on here, im gonna maybe make some more posts, scroll thru my tags and then read idk.
