What if They were Dads?
SUMMARY: Headcanons of what I think they would be like as fathers to your child. And what if his dormmates were like honorary uncles to the child?
CHARACTERS: OB Students (Riddle Rosehearts / Leona Kingscholar / Azul Ashengrotto / Jamil Viper / Vil Schoenheit / Idia Shroud / Malleus Draconia)
TAGS: Headcanon; Fem!Reader (AFAB) (I never really know what tags to use but I hope you know what I mean)
WORD COUNT: An average of 690 words per character.
COMMENTS: I would have liked to have made a headcanon about the relationship with the boys' parents and siblings, but since we don't know them that well or at all on the Eng Server like Vil's father, I think I'll leave that for a possible post that complements this one. If you want.
Since I didn't want each character to have a big chunk of text, I put them as paragraphs instead of bullet points.
I hope you enjoy 🩵
CONTEXT: This was written with a cisgender female reader in mind. Reader is Yuu. But if you want (and can) read it in any other way, feel free to.
By the way, this is one of those moments when I wish English had a second person plural, instead of the singular and plural being the same. Whenever I write “your child” I mean it in the plural (you, the reader, and his)
Riddle’s child(ren) call him: Father
Riddle has the same demands and standards for his child that he has for himself. But he doesn't want to make the same mistakes as his mother, so in comparison he can be more permissive. Because of this he will ALWAYS listen to you if you tell him he is being too harsh.
In terms of studies, etiquette and behaviour he is quite strict as you would expect. But when it comes to play he lets his child do almost anything they want.
He doesn't know how to play with his child, but he will always make an effort to learn how to and do it with them. He almost seems to regress to the childhood he never had and wants to give to his child. Whenever the child learns a new game, they will show it and teach it to Riddle and he will be delighted with it.
Although he is strict, he is also relatively protective, especially if your child is a girl. He tries not to be overly protective, but he can't help but worry about your child. If there was a right way to raise a child, is he doing his job well enough? You will have several conversations at first to reassure him that he is doing a good job.
He will study any and all parenting books that experts in child behaviour and education recommend. This kind of knowledge is never too much. Which often leads you to try to convince him to relax and just trust his instincts and what he feels is right. The child is his, not all those authors and experts. Sometimes there are things that a parent simply knows.
Lawful and calm Uncle Trey. They love uncle Trey's sweets! Sometimes Riddle asks him if he's not giving them too much sweets and Trey always assures him that it's okay because he knows how to make healthier sweets and the limit for a child to eat. If they weren't already Riddle's child, the whole thing about always brushing their teeth could be scary.
Chaotic Uncle Che'nya. The crazy and fun Uncle! Your child and Che'nya join forces (maybe even with you) to play pranks on Riddle. Never anything that could get the child into trouble with their father, just enough for everyone, Riddle included, to have fun.
Uncle Ace and Uncle Deuce are more from your side than Riddle's honestly. Ace is a bit like Che'nya in the case of being one of the chaotic pranksters uncles. But he is also the uncle of magic tricks who is always deceiving, but also entertaining your child with them.
Deuce is the rad uncle with a cool moto and/or even cooler blastcycle, who offers to take your child for a ride in it with him. Your child also finds it funny to see the two of them arguing amicably. But it’s even funnier to see them imitating their father trying to order them to stop arguing.
Uncle Cater doesn't show up very often, but they like him. He's not chaotic like Ace and Che'nya, but he's also fun. Your child enjoys receiving compliments from him and taking pictures with him.
Your child imitates their father scolding Grim too. Just like Riddle (and probably because they're still little) they have a very bad temper. Riddle gets embarrassed whenever you say that someone takes after their father.
Leona’s child(ren) call him: Dad
Leona still doesn't like kids... your child(ren) is/are just an exception.
Yes, Leona would treat a daughter slightly differently than he would treat a son. In the same way that he treats men and women a little differently. But the only difference is that he would be tougher on a son than a daughter, but will still be affectionate regardless.
No matter what gender his child is, he wants the same for them: be strong both physically and mentally. To outsiders like some servants or citizens who don't know him, they may get to the point of thinking Leona is a harsh father who doesn't deserve all that love from his child, and he will tell both you and your child not to mind that. But the truth is that he is just like he was with you at school: a tough guy who hides a caring heart.
Leona continues to show himself to be a person who doesn't want anyone to upset him and who would growl at anyone who bothers him. The only people who can get close to him even when he's angry and remain safe and sound are you and your child. He'll still growl at you and your child quietly, but there will be a volume that is the line, like if his growl is louder than that limit it's because he's getting really angry, until then it's just him being him.
Your child will already have the best private teachers and tutors (one of them being Kifaji/Neji if he’s still alive), but even so, Leona will want to make them study and learn more. But in that discreet way that he knows. He will not force them to study more, he will find a way to convince them to want to learn more on their own.
You end up being the most affectionate parent and the one they trust for emotional comfort. Leona is the tough love, you are the soft love (at least in comparison). Leona will always tease you, insinuating that you are too soft and only spoil your child. Although he enjoys when you spoil him too.
He is 100% the ‘Go ask your mom’ kind of dad.
He lets his child take naps with him. And you too.
If he has more than one child, he will police himself not to favor any of them. He may have a tendency to favor the younger ones because of what he went through as the youngest himself, but none of his children will be treated in any special/different way based on their birth order. Neither the youngest nor the oldest.
He will try to convince his child not to be too close (emotionally) to their uncle or cousin, but won't stop them from playing with Cheka. When your child is old enough not to tell others what is said in your home, Leona and them will talk badly about Falena and Cheka behind their backs.
Leona will prefer your child to play with Ruggie and/or his children. On the one hand, he wants to keep them away from his family, but on the other hand, he also wants his child to know what the real world is like, to see both wealth and poverty, to know royalty as they knows their people and only then create their own judgement.
They don't call anyone uncle or aunt other than Falena and his wife. In the same way, Leona also doesn't give cute titles to anyone without being sarcastically. Even when he calls you “love”, “darling”, “honey” or something like that, it's to tease you.
Whenever you go to Shaftlands, whether for democratic reasons or on holiday, you always try to find a way to meet with Jack. Leona pretends that he only helps you with this because you want to see your friend and he wants to get rid of his family. Both you and Jack know that he just doesn't want to admit that he wants to see him too. Jack is the cool parent's friend who taught your child how to snowboard. While they are little they like to hug his tail because it’s fluffy.
Despite everything, he doesn't want his child to have the same lack of hope that he has, and despite trying to hide it, he always feels extremely guilty and bad whenever your child says something like that. At these times he relies on you to be the ray hope in that house, they will both need you for that.
Both Leona and your child are afraid of you when you get really serious or angry.
Do you know that scene from The Lion King where Mufasa uses Zazu to give Simba an pouncing lesson? Leona often does something similar, but instead of the target being a blue bird, it's a magical creature called Grim.
Azul’s child(ren) call him: Daddy (when little) Dad (when older)
Azul is an extremely emotional father, despite trying to hide it. There's going to be a lot of moments like: “HE/SHE IS THE CUTEST LITTLE THING IN THE WHOLE- *clears throat* I mean, he/she is such a charming little child.” He will most likely cry at your baby's first words, steps, anything.
Azul is overprotective! If any living creature even thinks about harming your child, he will tortu- that is, find a completely legal way to ensure that it never happens again. Now, if you'll excuse him, he suddenly felt like talking to Jade and Floyd. (The same protectiveness applies to you.)
Although he is very (secretly) emotional and loves to spoil his child, he is also relatively strict about their studies. He likes to spoil them (and you) when it's deserved, but he will not raise a spoiled child! This ends up balancing things out a bit.
He will hide the whole mafia-like part of his life from his child. Dad is just doing business, boring adult stuff. Maybe when your child is older he will start to reveal a little of that side of his life, if they later want to join their father it will be their choice. But until then, let them be innocent children, they are cuter and happier that way, there is time for everything.
He will always hold back his emotional side so as not to be overly affectionate. Unless his child starts crying. At that point his mask falls completely and he becomes the most affectionate and comforting father there can be, that is his weakness.
And if one day the child realizes this and starts using crying to get what they want from him, he won't know whether to be angry that he is being emotionally manipulated by his own child, or proud that they learned so quickly.
You will be the only one immune to the fake crying.
From the beginning, Azul has been wary and suspicious of letting Jade and Floyd be like uncles to your child. However, you two ended up letting this happen, but Azul will always keep an eye open.
Both Jade and Floyd will definitely use the child to play pranks on Azul. Mostly Floyd, Jade prefers to watch and assist. Azul will always be upset with the twins, never with his child. And depending on the severity of the prank, he will turn on his overprotective side and threaten Jade and Floyd that if that happens again they will never see your child again. They never go beyond that limit.
Every now and then when Floyd plays with your child, he will do that joke where he playfully tells them he's going to catch them and bite them. Actually in his playful voice, he doesn't want to scare them. And they will run to Azul and hide behind his legs asking for help while laughing. Or tentacles if they are in their merfolk form.
If you ask them Jade is the scary uncle (only sometimes) but they themselves don't even know why. It's just his vibe or something. However, they are not afraid to ask any of them for something, it being to play or for help.
Azul loves cooking for you and your child, and they love their father's cooking.
You know those little plastic cashiers where kids pretend to have a little shop and try to sell things to people at home? Usually parents or sibling. Azul loves to play this with his child because it is a great and fun way to pass on his knowledge. Both about sales and about taking care of your money. Usually using the Grim as a guinea pig. Grim also likes to play because he always ends up with food in exchange for toy money.
Jamil’s child(ren) call him: Dad (in informal moments) and Father (at formal events)
Jamil needed to learn to express himself more and better emotionally so as not to end up being a cold father without meaning to. He needs your help to teach your child when to hold back and when to know when they are in a safe space to let go.
The only thing that will follow Jamil forever is an inevitable feeling of guilt for your child having the same fate as him, simply for being his child: serving the Al-Asim family with no other choice. But you can be assured that if there is a way to stop this and give his child freedom of choice, whatever that method may be, he will not give up until he finds it and do it! Normally parents want to give their children what they always wanted and could never have, in Jamil's case it’s freedom.
There was something Jamil wanted to do, but he didn't have the courage to ask the Al-Asim for some kind of vacation. But you had! Using your great friendship with Kalim, you managed to get him to allow you to take a vacation long enough for you to travel as a family, as Jmail wanted. Jamil has always wanted to travel alone, but now with you and your child he would like to travel as a family and give his child the experiences he would have liked to have had himself.
He is quite demanding with his child's education and training. However, his attitude towards this is always calm and collected, and he is attentive to his child's limitations and needs. He is a great and responsible tutor, who knows how to distinguish between being a teacher and being a father.
He is usually quite serious, so you and your child are the ones who start messing with him to have fun and make him laugh. It's always nice when he reminds you two that he can also be a tease. Normal or biggest target of your joint teasing ends up being Grim at some point.
During his work as Kalim's servant, Jamil always had to cook a lot and he's not that big a fan of cooking, so so he can rest at home you're the one who cooks most of the time. He will teach you everything you want to learn and at first you will cook together a lot until you feel comfortable cooking alone. But even then he will continue to offer to help you. Your child will continue to say that Jamil's food is tastier, but yours is prettier. And the food you make together is the best because it’s tasty and pretty. Jamil will also encourage his child to cook with you two so that they can learn from a young age.
His child knows that there is only one thing in this world that can make their father scream in fear: Bugs! If your child is also afraid of insects, you're screwed, because you will be the insect killer in that house. However, if it is just the two of them, Jamil's protective instinct will be stronger and despite his fear he will protect his child. If your child is not afraid of insects, then Jamil will have two protectors. “Can you do dad a favor?”; “Where is it?”; “Living room, south wall last time I saw.”; “Does it fly?”; “...Yes.”
Kalim will treat your child almost like one of his own children, for loving you both so much. He got emotional when he found out you were pregnant, he wanted to help pay for your doctor's appointments if necessary (never was), and he got emotional again when your child was born. He loves buying toys for your child too and give them gifts. He would love for Jamil to let them call him Uncle Kalim. And he loves it when your kids play together.
Vil’s child(ren) call him: Father
Vil wants to have a family that is at its best as he likes to be at his best himself. He wants you and your child to be as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside, just as he strives to be as well. However, he would treat a daughter slightly differently than a son because of the different pressures of societal beauty standards.
With a son he would be as strict with him as he is with himself. But with a daughter, he knows she's more likely to suffer from these kinds of things. So although he continues to be relatively strict and wants her to be the best she can be, he ends up being softer with criticism and stronger with praise and soft love than he would be with a son.
He would hire a specialist, like as a child psychologist or something like that, to always know the best ways to rise and protect your child. Children of famous people like him, especially in the digital and social media age, may need more protection from their parents in this regard, in addition to the toxic pressure of comparison that exists. However, because Vil cares so much about your child's personal development as their happiness, he may end up putting enormous pressure on himself to be a perfect parent too.
Both Vil and your child will need you to be the person who brings them both back to the real world and the life of a loving family with flaws like any human being. Vil will always listen to you if you feel he may be being too harsh and demanding with your child, or with himself in terms of parenting.
If you are the type of person who likes to tease Vil by letting yourself be sloppy from time to time, (always at home) then your child will also like to tease their father like that. “You have your mother’s cheekiness, I see.” Vil sighs but laughs. The teasing includes eating sweets and food that Vil would not approve of. You are the parent they ask for things from and who best comforts and pampers them. You two probably team up to make Vil relax and have fun with you.
His child will have the best teachers and tutors, go to the best schools and best establishments for any extracurricular activity they want to have. Vil will probably force them to have an extracurricular activity but they will be free to choose which one.
Rook is OBSESSED with your child! In a respectful way of course, he is just already a huge fan. The result of combining your DNA with Vil's? MERVEILLEUX! He won't hold back the tears when he sees the baby for the first time. He will LOVE playing with your child. He will babysit for free and will be happy to do so if you ever need. It will be a long time before he stops getting so emotional whenever your child calls him "Uncle Rook."
Uncle Epel is the rad uncle, when Vil is not around. He is that person who will help your child do cool activities that Vil may not allow. Like taking a blastcycle ride with him, eat grilled meats, playing with things that make the child very dirty or other things that Vil didn't like Epel to do when they were at NRC. But if at least one parent allows it (you), then there is no problem. Right? All this, of course, when Vil is not around.
When he is there, both Epel and your child behave like little angels. You and Epel have to be very careful that the child doesn't get careless and say something in Epel's dialect in front of Vil. They love Uncle Epel because it is fun to do cool things without their father knowing and with your help.
Your child likes to use Grim as a doll to dress up in cute clothes. The funny thing is that Grim likes it too because your child eventually realizes that if they tell him he looks cool instead of cute, he'll let them keep dressing him up.
Idia’s child(ren) call him: Daddy (when little) Dad (when older)
Idia doesn't believe he can be a good father. A shut-it and antisocial otaku like him? Are you crazy? That's a disaster! He can't take care of himself, how is he going to help you raise a child? However, and especially with you, he also has that overly cocky side that believes that even being an antisocial nerd he would be 1000 times better than a lot of parents out there. So basically he has a tendency to oscillate between these two moods.
In comparison, you are the strict parent, he is the parent who spoils the child. They are both afraid of you when you get upset. He's a ‘Don't tell your mother’ type of dad. He can't say no to his child, but, oddly enough, he can't be emotionally manipulated either. He may even let his child do a lot of things, but even he has limits to what he knows is good or bad for them.
Because he's the permissive father, he's also the scariest when he gets serious. He can never get really mad at his child, but he can say a firm and assertive “No” if necessary. However, if they are still very young and start crying, he will panic and call you immediately. You will then have to comfort Idia and tell him that no, he did not make a decision that put him on the path to the traumatic and apocalyptic ending. What he probably did was the opposite.
If it depends on him, his child will be a nerd/otaku just like his father. However, he doesn't want them to be socially anxious like him and will always encourage them to go for walks with you outside even if it's without him. That doesn't mean there aren't times you drag him outside with you.
Besides occasionally questioning whether he is being a good father, there is something else that haunts him... He still carries and will probably always carry the feeling of guilt for what happened to Ortho, so he is absolutely TERRIFIED that something like that may happen again.
Idia has always tried to keep your child as far away as possible from all areas that are dangerous or even remotely similar to the hallway where that happened. But if your child ever happens to even enter an area that their father did not allow, they will get to know a side of Idia that sometimes you yourself don’t even remember exists: The overprotective, traumatized side that isn't afraid to scare his child if it means keeping them away from the danger. And probably the only way they'll see his red hair. But it will probably be after that, that the two of you will have an open heart conversation and Idia will apologize.
Now, about Uncle Ortho, they LOVE uncle Ortho! He's the one who goes for a walk with you and your child when you and he can't convince Idia to go too. He is a cheerful uncle who loves to play with your child. You three made up stories to explain why uncle Ortho was a humanoid. You always make up different and crazy stories to jest with them and make them change the subject. The day will come when they will be old enough to know the truth.
Idia may even talk badly about himself a lot of the times, but no matter what his child do, they are talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular and everything good. “Of course that's because they inherited it from you, not me.” He will say with a smile.
Both Idia and your child treat Grim like a pet cat and find it funny to see him getting grumpy.
Idia spoke to his child in that baby voice when they themselves were also babies. And maybe also when they are children to the point where they tell him to stop treating them like babies.
Malleus’s child(ren) call him: Daddy (when little) Dad (when older) Father (at formal events)
The day Malleus found out you were pregnant was already a happy day, but the day your child was born was the happiest day of his life! And every moment with them is the happiest moment of his day. And of course with you too. He totally and completely loves his family!
Anyone who dares to speak ill of the child of Malleus Draconia, especially about the fact that they are half-human, will suffer the consequences! Anyone who spoke openly about the child being something of a disgrace, shame or an abomination was either killed or imprisoned. (Depending on how opposed you really are to Malleus killing or ordering someone to be killed.) and of course, the same applies to talking bad about you.
The problem is that this is doing the same thing to your child that was done to him. He's scaring everyone and making them afraid to come near your child for fear of saying or doing something that might upset them or Malleus. He listens to you and agrees with you, showing concern and thoughtfulness about what should be done. He hates people being disrespectful to the ones he loves, but he also doesn't want his child to go through what he went through.
What ends up happening is that, on Malleus's part, he realizes that he has to start learning ways for people to respect his child without using fear, but to do that he also has to start letting certain insults slide. He doesn't like it, but if it's what's best for his child, he'll do the best he can. Although the same applies if they disrespect you. He hates it so much!
In the case of your child, you are helped by Lilia (if he’s still alive), Silver, Sebek and their families. Perhaps trying to spend more time among their people and with other fae, humans, and half-fae might be beneficial to a child's social development.
Lilia would treat the child as if they were his own grandchild. Even if Silver also has children, they are ALL Lilia's grandchildren! “There's no denying it any longer... I am... officially... an old man... For the best possible reasons!” Everyone will rescue your child from Lilia's food. “Never eat anything that Grandpa Lilia cooks, you hear?”
Silver is the calm uncle who, despite not being the most fun to play with, is the one they turn to when they want to rest and simply have a good chill time. Or take a nap. Probably who they turn to to run away and hide from Sebek when he's being annoying. He ends up being the adult (than is not their parents) that they trust most and feel most comfortable with. Silver is very happy when they ask him for help to get closer to an animal to see it better, and even more so if they and the animals end up interacting and playing with each other.
Now about Uncle Sebek... If there is anyone more protective and flattering of that child than Malleus, it is Sebek. He cried when the child was born, for sure. And cried even more when the child said his name, or whenever they at least tried to. The day they called him "Uncle Sebek" he was about to have a heart attack. The problem is that he ends up being one of those type of person who adores children (although in his case the only ones he likes would be Malleus's and his own children) to the point that the child finds them annoying and clingy. “But don't tell Uncle Sebek that, he'll be sad.”
Whenever the child throws a tantrum that ends up causing their powers to manifest in storms or uncontrolled magic, Malleus will take care of it while you stay away and safe. To him, any attack would be mere tickling, but he always made sure that your child knows that the same does not apply to you. They may end up thinking that you are very fragile while they are little, but it is better this way to ensure that they do not hurt you unintentionally.
This also means that whenever you need to say ‘No’ to your child, Malleus will do it if there is a possibility that they would start throwing tantrums. At least while they are young and cannot control their powers well.
Malleus also runs the risk of being a father who spoils his children.
Your child and Grim probably burn a lot of things around the castle because they play together and they both have fire powers.

This is a great idea but also, if you get to the point where you discover your alternate dimension selves are all beetles, how do you even know they're alternate you's at all? Surely they can't have the same soul/consciousness as you, because you're together in the same dimension and thinking and feeling separately. Living separate lives, separate perspectives. If you die, you're gone; the existence of your alternate self doesn't mean you continue living in a literal sense, at least not in a way that is experience by you. Their brains and body-chemistry-influenced emotions/thoughts must be totally different. I'm assuming sentient beetles here, but they come from totally different evolutionary (or lab-made or whatever) lineages than the human one. Their eyes are probably so different from yours that if you could see our of theirs (or the beetle could see out of yours) you wouldn't even be able to interpret the data into an image; it'd just be chaotic and confusing. Especially if these are beetles with lots of eyes, who see colors we don't, or maybe they have an ability to detect really minute pressure changes in air in order to pick up motion around them without looking, and that wouldn't make sense to your brain either. Certainly not immediately. You don't have any of the same memories. I mean, I'd assume there are lynchpin simularities between your lives and personalities, but that these can vary wildly between each different version (as in Spider-man: Across the Spiderverse, for comparison). But like. What makes them an alternate version of you, specifically, vs. an entirely unrelated and separate being that happens to share a set of notable similarities with you? In an infinite universe, such similarities must exist infinitely often, no? Is the beetle you? I think maybe the beetle just occupies a more-or-less analogous role/position (or appearance, or set of lived experiences, or whatever) in life as you do by pure coincidence.
imagine if you teleported to a big multiversal hub of every version of you from every parallel universe and like 99.99% were just minor variations of some weird beetle alien and it turned out being a human made you one of the zany gimmick versions

I've been seeing your post about the podcast on Octavia Butler going around and I've been wondering, why do you think people only seem to react that way too problematic relationships? I've heard an English major, book reviewer say that they should've made the girl of legal age if they wanted to write about her stepfather attempting to prey on her because it's "gross" and also acted like it was an oversight. Another one, thought a book that is famously about a predator and the author is a victim of predation and the book is marketed about predation, romanticized predation and abuse and described it as an attempt at writing romance and failing? I don't know, I've just never seen anyone get that way about murder. Anyway, hi sex witch! 🧙♀️
I think there are like. complex and innumerable reasons for this, but re: the murder comparisons I think for many people it's worryingly easy to imagine that someone might actually act on or want to act on #problematic sexual behaviors depicted in fiction. like, the amount of murder that most people are doing IRL is absolutely zero, so I think it's kind of easy for most folks to sequester that away in a little fantasy bubble where someone who enjoys reading about murder is as likely to actually be partaking in that interest as someone who enjoys reading about riding dragons or traveling through space. whereas, statistically, most people have sex at some point, or at least could be having sex, so it feels like a much more reasonable concern to assume that their fictional tastes might be directly reflected in their actual behavior.
which is tied to another huge issue here, which is that I think a lot of people just... never learn to engage in a healthy manner with things that yuck them out or make them uncomfortable? so they get in a headspace where it's impossible to imagine that anyone willingly engages with fiction that they don't personally 100% condone. which extends to critiques of authors like you're mentioning, where some readers can't seem to ken that there's an intention and artistry to showing something vile beyond that depiction either being the author's personal fetish or their attempt to be an edgelord. a booktuber who I otherwise like quite a lot once downgraded their review of Akwaeke Emezi's novel The Death of Vivek Oji because it features a queer sexual relationship between cousins and the reviewer found the inclusion of incest to be unnecessary, which seems to be rather missing the point of a novel that's entirely about a family being drowned by its own secrets.
and also idk many people, especially my fellow USAmericans who have a bad tendency of skewing very prudish whether they recognize it or not, are just very very very scared of any sex that falls outside of Gayle Rubin's charmed circle
and will kind of immediately start getting nervous when exposed to it without ever once interrogating why. I absolutely guarantee you someone is going to sent me an angry anon about at least one aspect of this circle asking why I'm trying to justify it, which is going to illustrate the point very nicely.

Oh I actually love Angelshade as a name for that grim sibling, it invokes a sort of angelic facade for something darker underneath to me, y'know?
While we're on the Snowtuft subject- is there a Snowtuft-kin motif? I feel like there's already a lot of focus on how being related to Snowtuft affects his descendants, so it'd check out. Is Snowtuft channeled by anyone once he goes to the Dark Forest?
I figured it was best to start with Snowtuft himself, so I did some sketches trying to find something for him to pass down through the generations. Most folks tend to give him a "poof" of fur on the top of the head, but I like manes so much that I kinda wanted to avoid "defaulting" to them, y'know?
A bundle of sketches later, I did some ear tufts in a way I think would be fun to play with. So, for now, the official "Family Trait" the Snowkin Lineage carries is these distinctive "ear puffs."
I might revise these, though. Blackstar has the iconic black hood and points which would also make for a great family trait, but I couldn't think of how to work that back into a line of cats who's pure white. Maybe I'll put colors on their paws and muzzles, and the "ear tufts" will sort of split away from the line that leads to Blackstar.
(Since Blackstar doesn't have the tufts, which is kind of the point.)
Design and extra stuff;
Lilyfur's ear fluffs are actually based on the yellow center of a lilypad flower, and I couldn't help but give her little lilypad eyebrows.
Even though they look like pacmans <3
If I go with the idea of points, she'll be having pale yellow paws and a tail.
The family's fur is extremely thick and oily. Most of them are very smooth and well-groomed, Snowtuft's kind of unkempt in comparison.
I've seen Silk/Angel described as "The Chad Cat from Rise of Scourge" so I felt like it was a crime to leave out his ridiculous jawbones.
I also made his eyes super light to match canon. If I ever did alter his colors, I'd want to make those pale orange.
EDIT: Oh, and, lastly, Snowtuft is actually not channeled very often. He is the sort of spirit who would massively disappoint the one who went through the trouble and blasphemy to do so, because he doesn't remember the parts of his life he wanted to forget.
You can remind him of those parts of his life, but the more that comes back to him, the more upset he will get until he's just kind of crying about it. It's extremely uncomfortable for someone who's definitely trying to get in touch with him because they think killing babies is cool.

The answer to legend’s eye color would be ‘yes’ (four conspiracy theorized too much and completely missed the obvious answer)
I heard the argument about legend's eye color
But that gave me a hilarious idea
Fanfic prompt :
Legend's eye color changes depending on magic circumstances
It is red if there is prominent dark magic actually surrounding him (lorule , dark world , twilight realm , etc)
It is blue when he is in an area with a lot of light magic because it is strong enough to nullify or repress the effects of dark magic (sacred realm, fairy fountain near a light guardian)
And violet when both magic sources are around but prone to changing depending on how much of what magic is around ( Hyrule kingdom by default)
And green when he is near a water source or actually wet because the mermaid curse is pretty green looking in the oracle game and even more prone to changing
And depending upon who he is close to it also gets influenced (like with Hyrule he has blue eyes or violet, with twilight because of the twilight shard red eyes or violet , with sky blue eyes again, with warriors, time and wind violet eyes and if it is raining he has green eyes)
So image what sort of reaction four would have if he sees legend's eye colors rotate that way (green, red , violet and blue)
He freaked the hell out because legend mentioned that he retrieved the four sword once
And he very inconspicuously (it was not inconspicuous no matter how much Vio is in denial about it) tries to conspiracy theorist through it
But it is barely noticeable that they stay consistent because how the chain is close together anyway if you don’t search for it
Like he will have violet eyes then twilight would run up and they go red and sky and hyrule join as well so now they are blue and then he takes a sip of water and they go green then twilight moves away a bit and they go back to violet or blue
And if they fight monsters they are usually red or violet
This made four think that legend's colors are different from his in temperament
Legend's red obviously seems more like a fighter than four's (that kinda annoyed blue that his color rarely shows up in battle but when Hyrule and legend are being cuddly guess what , blue is there )
Legend's violet is way to social in comparison to four's (and much more snarky as well but that is just because he always has violet eyes when he and warriors interact , hyrule and sky tend to leave them to their teasing)
And legend's green seems to badly be around for anything but a meal or a break (soup is their only kind off meals so obviously his eyes turn green over water heavy stuff and also them messing around in rivers)
And how fast legend seem to change from one to another color is really worrying to four because that must be exhausting and confusing to pass around control this often without stopping once for an actual duration of time
And he tries to teach legend how to use the four sword but he having heavy trauma keeps pushing away lessons (I still decades later never recovered from the fight against the dark colors it is genuinely harder to beat then ganon )
So four tries to even harder
(While completely missing the fact that legend in fact cannot use the four sword (as it is pretty much useless in link to the past) nor has he ever used it)
Four tries so aggressively to bond with his probably successor that it makes twilight’s desperate attempts to connect with time look like nothing
He wants to fix this mess of a four sword user as soon as he can but legend actually has to trust him with the four sword stuff (which legend obviously wants to take to his grave for entirely different reasons because damn he killed the little guy and four seems to know that and it makes him feel horrible that four actually is such a nice person , why must he be so insistent on knowing what happened to the four sword)
So they dance around each other so aggressively that even wild and twilight find it impossible (a real pot , kettle situation they are totally not Better)
#linked universe#lu legend#lu wind#lu time#lu warriors#lu four#lu sky#lu wild#lu hyrule#lu twilight#lu colors#lu red#lu blue#lu green#lu vio#four swords palace#palace of the four sword#link to the past#four is definitely going to have an aneurysm#over the truth#but for entirely different reasons than getting killed#four is more afraid that the blade split legend improperly because it is in horrendous condition#then the getting murdered part#misunderstandings

Okay, this is taking transfeminism at a pretty bad faith level of criticism, but i’ll bite anyway.
The problem that transfeminists have with afab trans women is that your assigned gender at birth does fundamentally play a role in how you are oppressed. You are coerced into playing the role of your agab, and breaking out of that plays into how you are oppressed.
if i was taking your argument in complete good faith, i would ask you to consider how people who are amab trans people are oppressed. you are aware of transmisogny so you do know its fundamentally different than how afab trans people are oppressed. if we were in a perfect, gender abolished society, i would have very little problem with afab trans women, categorically, it might have little material effect, but unfortunately, agab is relevant to our material world, so terms like transfem are categorically necessary for understanding intersectional oppression. afab trans women are not consistently affected by trans misogyny, and stay with me here, but even if they experienced it in the past, it is not a fundamental truth about who they are that they will experience it consistently, when this is true for amab trans people.
Let’s say that this terminology is allowed, then the terms TMA and TME became categorically necessary instead(some might argue that they are right now), except there is also pushback against these terms as recreating the binary. Unfortunately, the binary does exist in our world, materially, and so binary terms are necessary until the binary is destroyed. This is similar to anti-racist activism still using terms such as BIPOC despite understanding that race is a concept in our society that needs to be abolished- we do not live in a post racism society, and we didn’t get out of being a racist society by pretending we did not live in a racist society. This concept of necessary acknowledgment of the forces of oppression while attempting to dismantle them still applies to trans activism, and even further, transfeminism.
We cannot undefine oppression away in this instance.
As well as all of this, intersex people are oppressed in a different context than trans people, and it would be intersexist for a trans person to claim connection to being intersex because taking hrt has given them “both male and female characteristics”, for the same reason it is transmisognistic the other way around. To return to my earlier comparison, it would also be racist if a white person would claim to be a poc.
The reason we do not participate in the “what is a woman” debate is because it is a bad faith debate topic- because fundamentally we understand the answer, and they understand what our answer is going to be, right? a woman is anyone who defines themselves as a woman. It is not because we refuse giving womanhood a definition- it’s that womanhood has a definition, a very simple one that includes many categories of women. We do not participate in that debate not because it is bad to define womanhood as such, it is because they aren’t asking us what is a woman, they are asking us for a platform. The transfeminist argument concerning afab trans women does not involve giving ground to conservatives, and we’d hope to be taken in good faith by fellow queer people.
Posting this with the excerpt you have defies your purposes, because this is not what the theorist is talking about and this is made clear within the exact excerpt you have posted.“Replacing woman-as-housewife with woman-as-supermom(or earth mother or super professional) is no advance.” The theorist is arguing there are no actions you can take to become a woman, no path you can follow to become a woman, because womanhood is simply something that you choose for yourself. in fact, this is an argument within post-structural feminism, that the image of a woman is created by men, and should be dismantled through mimesis and create the idea of a woman created by a woman. to use the concepts of judith butler here, “trans woman” is not a gender separate from womanhood, it exists within womanhood, ostensibly the gender trans women are performing is that fo a woman, therefore you cannot perform the gender of a trans woman. there is a specific experience that trans women go through that afab intersex women might relate to, but relating to the experience does not include you within it. that is what a transfeminist would mean by saying that only trans women can perform the gender of a trans woman. it is not baseless misogyny, and claiming that it is, is transmisognyistic for the reasons i have outlined throughout this post. if you argue here that saying “men can’t define what a woman is for women” is somehow transmisogynistic, im sorry, but it seems like you think trans women are men, because trans women are women, and you are not a post-structuralist feminist as the excerpt you included would suggest.
to conclude, i would like to say, if an afab intersex woman feels a connection to transfemme people, that is what solidarity is for. you can enjoy the aesthetics but we are not just aesthetics, in the same way that term intersex is not just about aesthetic. there is a reason the term transmisogny was coined, and we all know it has nothing to do with aesthetics, but with how trans women are oppressed. thank you for your time, i hope i have explained well enough why transfeminists are opposed to this idea.
It's always super funny to see transfeminists refusing to take part in the debate on 'what a woman is' - understanding that it's fundamentally a reactionary endeavor, a site of reproduction of misogynistic and transphobic dynamics and that the refusal of a definition is the most viable, politically useful decision - imposing the same kind of transphobic debate about what a 'trans woman' and 'AFAB trans woman' is, thus betraying their allegeance to anti-cissexist/misogynyst logics and feueling the very transmisogyny they claim to be against! ''What a trans woman or afab trans woman is'' is the transfem equivalent of the terf ''what a woman is'', and a lot of of them aren't self-aware enough to realize it because transphobia obstructs their thinking.
Refusing to define these concepts is the path to feminist political organizing. In fact, this tactical move has already been adopted by some feminists as a means to avoid the reproduction of misogynist dynamics:
I want these transfeminists to answer or reflect on this question: why do you think debating what it is to be a woman is misogynistic/transphobic/reactionary/should be avoided ? And how does that logic you use doesn't extend to trans womanhood and afab trans womanhood ?

Regarding your addition to the pistachio post:
I don't understand the significance of straight lines on maps. Some of it is apparent from context, but I'd like to learn more about it. Could you explain further or point me towards resources on the topic?
Thank you!
Who draws Maps?
If you look at maps made by those whose eyes see the world through the lens of Science, you will find curved, jagged lines, tracing mountain ridge lines and river course ways, drawn with an attempt to accurately represent Nature and its fractal detail.
When people are rulers of their own Polities, they draw political boundaries that make sense according to local realities. These mountains and rivers that naturally congregate and separate populations are considered, and you have winding, jagged boundaries, like those found in Europe, or in the vicinity of Washington.
Cartographer is a trade name for one who draws maps, but even those who draw the maps are not typically those who set the borders. When Texas sought to enter the Union in 1845 as a slave state, federal law in the United States, based on the Missouri Compromise, prohibited slavery north of 36°30' north latitude. Under the Compromise of 1850, Texas surrendered its lands north of 36°30', rather than have a portion of the state as "free" territory. The 170-mile strip of land, a "neutral strip", was left with no state or territorial ownership from 1850 until 1890. It was officially called the "Public Land Strip" and was commonly referred to as "No Man's Land."
In Tordesillas, Spain, on 7 June 1494, a handful of men would sign a piece of paper, and in so doing recognize that half of the world belonged to Hispaniola, and half to Portugal. None of the hundreds of millions of Human Beings living and breathing and working and dying on those continents would be consulted in this matter.
If you mirrored California on the East coast of the US, it would stretch from New Hampshire to the Carolinas, and as far inland as Kentucky. I will freely confess that the autoImperialism we experience here Out West might pale in comparison to what is enforced upon, say, Africa and the rest of the Global South, but that does not make it not Imperialism.
Straight lines on maps are NOT drawn by the people who do the living and breathing and working and dying in a region. They are drawn by distant Powers, with no regard for Local Reality.
A straight line for a political border is something created for the convenience and expediency of an Imperial Administrator. Straight lines on maps are drawn by Outsiders; by people whose sole interest in a territory lies in what Natural Resources can be extracted from it.
The original post was about how a great many California farmers are wasting water trying to outcompete the Iranian Pistachio trade, instead of any number of other, better-suited-to-the-local-ecosystem crops. A choice not informed by Market Demand, or by Local Necessity, but by the political machinations of distant Washington.
This simple observation has profoundly altered the way I look at geopolitics. Once I understood who decides where the lines go; once i could see on the chart who gets to Rule Themselves and who does not, so much became clear.
I hope my words, and perspective, will also clarify things for you. Stay safe out there.

DimiClaude gets married and by some magical means or another, they have a child with both of their DNA and whatnot.
What kind of parents would DimiClaude be like with their child/children? I'm sure Dimitri would want to raise their kid(s) the same wat/similar to how Lambert raised him. Though I'm not necessarily sure if Claude would raise their kid(s) the same way his parents raised him. Like, when Claude says one of his punishments was being dragged around by a horse.
Oh, okay baby, we asking the real questions here, huh? Love it, love you <3
Under a read more cuz I've been ruminating this for a long time--
( hits both dmcl with trans-o-nator beam )
Now! Let's address something first and foremost! Mostly concerning Dimitri if we are talking about canon being applied here -- due to his trauma, there is a high possible chance that many of Dimitri's memories of his father probably would have been warped or even suppressed after what Lambert had become to him after the events of the Tragedy, which is a vengeful ghost ( in comparison to the real Lambert, who probably wouldn't want his son to live a life with vengeance as a means to keep going ) -- so Dimitri would not be able to even recall much of what kind of father Lambert was at some point during his own experience with parenthood.
Dimitri had lost his only good example of what a parent should be ( I would argue Rodrigue be counted as well but at the end of the day, he's not Dimitri's father, but I'm sure Dimitri would also draw on him for example all the same.)
Still! With what he could remember, Dimitri knew that he would have to approach parenthood with patience, understanding, and above all; love. Like his own father had to when he had to raise Dimitri alone for those first seven years of Dimitri's life. Even with what little we see of Lambert in canon, you can tell he was a good father -- he loved Dimitri very much and had so much faith in him. He also made sure to emphasize humility in his son, which is why Dimitri himself isn't your typical spoiled prince trope. Dimitri himself is a reflection of his father's love -- he's compassionate and kind and when allowed to, loving, because he had that example from Lambert. Dimitri was loved very much, so it's no surprise he ended up so vengeful and sorrowful because that love was ripped away from him.
In Claude's case -- while he is the only lord to have both parents alive and well -- from what he's said and what we can kinda see -- he's not as close to his parents as Dimitri was to Lambert.
Claude of course, does love his parents and his parents love him, Tiana loved him enough and had faith in him to let Claude go to Fodlan and make his own path in life -- and Claude seemed to be his father's favorite child among his many siblings -- his parents to me kinda felt like that, "tough love" kind of parents, if a bit emotionally neglectful ( given how distant Claude is, trust me, from one Leo to another with an emotionally neglectful parent whom I also love deeply at the same time-- you keep that shit IN )
So I definitely feel like Claude would not want to raise his child the way his parents did but he's going to struggle the most out of the two of them because he didn't learn how to be emotionally available when needed, just like how his parents probably were to him. He keeps a lot of shit in and it takes a lot of trust for Claude to be able to be so open and honest with people -- with a child that's hard to do, because a child learns from example and if he shows them that you have to earn that affection or being disciplined like he was is how a parent should love their child -- the kid is gonna end up presenting him and then they're both just gonna be at odds with each other as the kid grows up.
Which is why Dimitri is a good counterbalance for Claude -- he helps Claude be more emotionally open with their kid and Claude, in turn, helps Dimitri not become too over-bearing and let their child be independent.
Both of them together, learn to show their child love, warmth and understanding -- giving them a childhood that both of them didn't get to have. One who had that childhood innocence ripped from him with tragedy and the other living each day in survival mode. Because above all, their child's happiness is what is important.
#and that as they say is that#they're not gonna be perfect parents#but they're gonna be the best they can be for their children#:: koko speaking!#hcs#fe3h#fire emblem three houses#fire emblem#dimitri alexandre blaiddyd#claude von riegan#dimiclaude#lambert egitte blaiddyd#rodrigue achille fraldarius#they're mentioned so they get included lmao

What I find interesting about the rite and gwynriel is that we have Cassian’s reaction right there to make a direct comparison to Azriel’s reaction. Cassian is going out of his mind. He knows he’s not allowed to go help Nesta yet he still pleads to anyone who would listen to tell him he can go. If Az was romantically interested in Gwyn, he would’ve had a similar reaction but he didn’t. Whereas he was insistent to go save Elain from the Hybern camp even though he was warned that he will die. It’s quite obvious who SJM is writing to be a couple yet gwynriels keep pushing against it
@ater-love just made this post and I find it so interesting.
When it comes to the troves, both Azriel and Cassian show the same level of concern, not wanting their girls to go and scry. Their reactions are mirrored and we know Cassian is Nesta’s LI, can’t be a coincidence that Mass chose to have Az copy Cassian worrying over Nesta - with Elain. Another confirmation, like when both men stilled at the sight of the two sisters and when she had Az and Cass on one page & Elain and Nesta on the other so when the book closed, Nessian and elriel landed on top of each other, that just like Nessian, elriel are also endgame LIs.
anyways, then you have another scene set up similarly where Mass could have had Az show and share Cassians’ same level of panic and distress over Nesta being taken with Gwyn being taken. Does Sjm do this? No. Cassian is there at unease whereas Az is calm and more focused on the task at hand which was saving Eris.
When you compare those two scenes: Az showing concern over Elain scrying and him not worrying like Cass when Gwyn is taken - it becomes so clear which woman is written as Azriels endgame partner and which isn’t.
And thats not taking into context how he was literally prepared to die for Elain, just like Nesta ready to die for Cass.
It cannot be more obvious then that.

The reason those C3 fans shit the bricks over the Charity stream was because they viewed the charity stream as a win for them and bells hells. Not like you know, an actual good thing to help people in need. Because when it was announced they were in the qrts and on twt yelling that the cast closing to play as Bells Hells was cause they loved them above all. That BH were "winning" because MN didn't get one shots while airing. No1 expected anyone BUT BH to be played so they were fighting air tbh.
[Cont. So when Laudna got yeeted and Beau joined it, it's like they suddenly hit with the fact that the cast like all the times. All character sheets were available and BH was being played by default of the one shot happening during c3. But they hung their entire world view on BH being extra special that they broke. Saw them also being PISSED at Ashley and Liam for getting MN members to the top before everyone else and especially the gate was "showing up BH".]
Here is what gets me, as a person who does not follow sports in any form: The Mighty Nein are a juggernaut of popularity within the fandom. I think this is for the most part deserved and I also think a lot of fans of C1 who never vibed with any later campaigns are simply not active in fandom any more since it's been 7 years, and Critical Role had more recognition with Campaign 2, so like, numbers within active social media fandom are not a perfect indicator of quality, itself a subjective measure.
HOWEVER. If you want your team to win, the most efficient way to do that is to start rooting for the winning team. I get that this is considered treasonous to genuine fans of sports. But like, if your biggest priority is Number Is Bigger then there is an obvious solution and it's called jumping on the bandwagon. Otherwise, perhaps you should consider a different metric, such as "did I have fun at this game? Were the snacks good? Were there some cool plays?" (from this you can see my priorities re: live sports namely are my friends here and did I get some nachos and a beer but you get my point). Honestly, this is how I and a lot of other people have been approaching Bells Hells week to week for some time now: were there some cool scenes? Did the character they liked most at the time say something funny? Did NPCs do anything? Were the fight mechanics interesting?
I have a post that I am saving for next week about specific elements of C3 that goes into more depth but I feel like Campaign 3's fandom in particular fell to a certain attitude that feels very specific to a younger (to me, an ancient crone, so like, mid-20s) crowd, of obsessing over numbers: how many fics. how many notes. how much screentime. can you believe that Episode 100 didn't even have Bells Hells in it????? And it's like. who the fuck cares. Is it good? Is it satisfying? Because right now we're watching you guys all admit it hasn't been and 120 episodes in you were waiting for the campaign to REALLY begin.
I don't think the cast dislikes Bells Hells! I think they all like all of their characters, and frankly when the cast gets asked directly a lot of them go with a "you never forget your first" and give their VM character anyway so like, the vitriol at the Mighty Nein really is a petty popularity contest in the end. But Bells Hells are the party that the cast happened to be playing during the Moon Plot Campaign and the party that the cast happened to be playing at the time of the livestream. None of the three main parties are uniquely special. They are special to their individual fans.
I made the Elon Musk comparison for C3 fans earlier this week and I don't want to go too hard since like, he is truly horrible, and I do think that a lot of C3 fans, while currently shitty self-absorbed people, are also quite young and it is my hope that a sharp but ultimately harmless disappointment like this campaign might shock them into fixing their hearts, but the final lines of this post came to mind while writing up a lot of my responses: "And in fact I would argue that seeking to put yourself above other people is inherently going to leave you empty, because egotistical as you may be, you've adopted a values system where your sense of self worth intrinsically depends on other people. Congratulations, you played yourself."
If your day can be ruined because your blorbo wasn't present for 100% of a live stream for charity and the cast likes all of their characters? You should work on that! I'm not saying it's easy or fun but it really is a thing you should work on because right now, the worst thing that's going to happen to you is people laughing at your misfortune on social media. But if you keep up this behavior, you're going to be bitter and miserable forever, and it will be your own fault because you're getting mad that something that was never about you continues to not be about you. Learn to accept that you had a good time (if you had a good time, anyway) and it's over and that's okay.

The often stated goal of people in the crit community is for Lily to lose her platform. This would result not only in her facing some consequences for her behavior, but will also make it harder for her to prey on and influence vulnerable people. While it's certainly reasonable for those personally victimized by Lily to want to see some legal consequences as well, those goals aren't going to be reached by discussing her on social media, with a few exceptions.
For instance, using social media to present and archive evidence and as a way to make others aware. If a victim is actively in the community and close to people in it, it wouldn't be unusual for them to post updates on whatever is happening on the legal front. Maybe just to vent now and then. Legal action is always long and frustrating and very often expensive. Venting about that, at least, would be reasonable.
There would be little reason for the rest of us to continue talking about Lily, I'd imagine.
People may bring up something now and then. You'll see the occasional post that says something like: Remember when Lily Orchard compared a Jewish woman to a disease and got to keep her youtube channel? That shit was wild, huh? They'll be comparisons between her and other people who are being discussed. Sometimes more accurately, sometimes not.
I know there is a pervasive idea in Lily's base and in those critical of the crit community that we're all obsessed with her and using her for content as a way to make money or get clout. That we'd actually be secretly upset if she never made another video or blog post.
I'm pretty confident in saying, for most of us, that's not true. I don't think people outside of this understand how frustrating it can actually be. In my case, at least, there are any number of videos or post that I could comment on, that have factual errors that can easily be corrected, but I don't because they don't matter as far as that ultimate goal. I will sometimes, if I feel it might be interesting to discuss, especially since it was my original goal for my blog to discuss media criticism. Usually, it's not worth it though.
Because even when I do make a post with the express purpose of calling out Lily's racism, ablism, sexism, her victimizing people, or to show a pattern of behavior, my reward is being called a transphobe, a misogynist or having my motivations for doing so questioned. I can't tell you how lovely it feels to make what I think is a well documented and easily provable argument and have it dismissed because I chose to use one of her media takes as my starting point. You think I want to do this? That I enjoy that?
I'm not sure those of us without a "real world" connection to Lily would even be able to move the goal post past de-platforming. Like how? That's the only spot that goal post can be. There's this big immovable wall just past that with the words "no admittance through social media" scrawled on it.
We can't get to the other side of that from here.
So, yeah, I see most of us moving on. @spacefrog1984 will post more frog gifs. @thetepes will discuss tea and post more cultural food videos. @agramuglia will cover other media and media critics, which he is already doing. Sai may close @purpledemonlilyposting or she may use it to argue with people like you on here.
Me? I'll make more youtube recommendations, discuss indoctrination tactics and debunk things like pseudoscience. Mostly, I'll likely go back to vanilla media discourse and talking about bad media takes that don't involve Lily, which is what I started the blog to do originally. Maybe I'll do some more in depth analysis of The Owl House.
What are you going to be doing, Starry? Still, posting about Sai and everyone whose ever had an exchange with her all day?
Does a channel termination mean everyone can move on? Or does it just mean the goalpost gets moved?
#Lily Orchard#my responses to Starry are always long#this is intentional#Trolls and drama mongers are easily bored

I'm just sayin', Starstruck and Kirby would be adorable. But also Starstruck and Meta-Knight might be the funniest thing you could possibly do. :)
hear me out: peter pan (2003) window scene
been staunchly avoiding typing too much on most of these but i have some thoughts about this one!
you know... i had actually never even considered kirby for the shipaganza. mostly because i think of him as holding such a strong and unique position in the hearts of everyone who knows him, in a way that is devout but also seems fairly romance-free. and i'm actually very interested in the complex relationships that he has with his friends! but i wonder if not considering him was maybe a disservice, because if anyone has an abundance of the capacity for love, it's him, right?
i think that kirby could eventually occupy a similar heart-space for starstruck as bandee, though it would take longer. i strongly suspect that bandee's love of kirby would rub off on her, if nothing else.
i'm not sure either of them... really understand the premise of romance or dating, so it might not be a typical sort of thing. but i think they could giggle and laugh together and shoot each other slightly smitten looks when the other one isn't paying attention, and be very invested in each others happiness.
he adds a pass by her window to his early morning flight, on the off chance she might be up to join him. she's always thinking of him when he's off saving the world, and distinguishes his star from all the others in the sky with ease. the irresistible allure of adventure vs someone who has never seen any of the wonders of your planet before. someone who finds as much unrestrained joy and delight in the mundane as you do. eating paper cups you find on the ground together as a love language.
you know i could see it.
#my art#kirby#starstruck dee#🎀💖#gravitational collapse#you know the scene where she's hesitating in the window and the music starts and he shoots her The Most infectious smile of all time#that one!!!#does anyone remember this movie?#i think if kirby showed up in the window offering a whimsical adventure and a charming smile nobody would think twice.#when i made this comparison i could NOT stop thinking about it. peter and wendy are a little too romo coded for my tastes in general#but there's a beautiful feeling of choosing freedom and delight in that scene. and i think kirby COULD be a little cheeky!!#the part where he blows the fairy dust all over her? you know i considered it. considered drawing the whole thing. barely resisted.#is this one canon to her? yes. i think so but not romantically. and this visit might be a special circumstance.#he's a busy little guy; he doesn't take her as often as he might like. certainly not as much as SHE would like. but i think... yes.#at least once. as a treat.#you know what i think could also be cute? kirby/bandee/starstruck triad. drop a braincell haver (bandee) in there.#three circles who are absolutely insane about each other in a surprisingly similar way. i think it could work? yes? no? thoughts?#<- prompt it if you wanna see it i guess!#also... starstruck and meta knight..... we'll come back to that! we'll circle right around. boy howdy will we circle back to *that*.#*laughs nervously*

OH BOY MEET "THE CLEANER"
A Finding Frankie OC of mine that I've been brainstorming over for the past few days.
I really don't think I have the right style to draw this, but HAVE IT ANYWAYS
Character lore under the cut. IT'S A LOT AND IM PROUD OF IT
To not get murdered by the monsters, needs to look non-human as ordered by the "HUs"
Frankie = Frankie
TOFrankie = The Other Frankie
TFrankie = Toon Frankie
Henry = Henry Hotline
HUs = Higher-ups
PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES:
*Human
*Age somewhere in late 40s
*Digigrade stilts, visible parts painted red.
*Body modified for 2 extra limbs that stretch coming out of back, but 1 is torn off and missing
*Original arms had been ripped off as some point and replaced with mechanical stretchy ones. Helps with cleaning.
*Red 3-clawed hands with strong grip strength
ROLE:
*Cleaner
*Cannot leave the complex
PERSONALITY:
*Unaffected by gore
*Oddly strong will to live
*Loves all living things looked down upon. Especially the rats.
*Values loyalty highly even if to a shitty company
CLOTHES:
*Full face mask, fastened with elastic straps
*Head covered with a black balaclava
*Dark green, baggy, boilersuit, heavily stained with dirt and blood, many rips that have been repaired with rough stitch work, the odd few holes patched with materials from contestants uniforms
MASK:
*Inspiration from Bumblebee Millipedes
*Mask completely covers up the cleaners voice by making fuzzy hissing sounds instead like a broken voice changer. Occasionally, some words can be understood
*Looks clean and well looked after, spare a few scuffs and scratches. Any cracks are glued back together
EXTRAS:
*Smells like bleach, rust, and blood
*Gait is stiff and awkward
*Loud metal squeaking, clicking, and thumping steps while walking due to the stilts.
*Voice is quiet, rough, slightly slurred, masculin, and with no defined accent
*Almost no response to pain
*No edible food on the premises, so has to make do with other means
*Main area of residence is around the incinerator
*The cleaning cupboards are the only places that feel safe enough to take off the mask and stilts and not be seen by anyone
RELATIONSHIPS
*Frankie is fond of the cleaner who is extremely wary of him despite this
*Frankie will occasionally "gift" the cleaner with kills and objects
*Hates the Noobnoobs because they make mess
*Only takes orders from TOFrankie and HUs
*Has no sadness over the deaths of many contestants, viewing it as a consequence of recklessness and stupidity
*Refuses to interact with the winning contestant for a long time, assuming they will die soon like the rest
*Keeps interactions with Henry at a minimum to reduce any negative response from TOFrankie
HISTORY
*Got the job back when the park was open and functional to the general public, a year or two before the private live streaming
*Bound by soul to the complex through a contract they signed just before the live streaming started

presented without comment
(chapters 280 + 344)
#unordinary#unordinary webtoon#cw blood#i fucking lied i have so many comments#FIRST AND FOREMOST. i originally had the images in the opposite order (meaning john’s on the left and rei’s on the right)#when i was drafting this post. but then i was like. ‘oh i should put them in chapter/chronological order instead’ and it oh my god#uru you bastard that’s so much worse#(and then ofc i had to rewrite my tags accordingly)#but anyways#like literally almost everything about these scenes is mirrored/opposite#obviously they are facing different directions (and thus. each other)#they are also looking at different places in the second panel - rei is looking up and john is looking down#rei is looking up directly at kuyo. yes. but his raised head also makes him look a bit defiant. his kind of smirk also adds to that feel#he’s obviously not… happy. he’s been through a lot (is literally about to die) but his spirit remains.#there’s still light in his eyes. hope.#and he still finds the time to tell kuyo to call it quits and give him well wishes#then we have john’s half which is. ough.#and uhh cw suicidal ideation from this point on i guess?#looking down! no light in his eyes! defeated and dragging himself to the finish line!#alone.#he’s still fighting but he’s TIRED. absolutely nothing to look forward to here.#keep going because there’s no turning back now#he is doing this for the people he’s already lost (jane william sera). not for people who are here now (blyke remi isen)#rei didn’t go into this thinking he would die but ended up choosing to sacrifice himself anyways#john went in with the intention of sacrificing himself and survived anyways#i could be reading too far into it but i think you can kind of see that in their expressions in the first image set#rei looks like he’s realizing he’s about to die but john just looks like he’s fighting#he’s already made his choice#that’s about all i got (and i’m at the tag limit) so.#to everybody who hated my john-william comparison post this one’s for YOU 🫵
