TMAGP Theory Board (Episode 8-9)

Hi guys sorry about the missed week of theory crafting my schoolwork has been extra demanding and I haven't been able to get around to updating the board until now so here's the updated board

Episode 8 especially was insane so I'm gonna break the episode breakdown into two sections.

What Happened in Episode 8: Running On Empty

New Norris Statement! it's been a while since we heard from our buddy and he did not disappoint. though there's not much to say story-wise this was just a cool incident report I loved the way they described the Lonely as a constantly hungry entity. I also noticed that the pattern of Norris's statements having to do with lost love continues to be true. it's much more subtle than his previous two incidents but the statement giver does mention losing his wife because of divorce. which I believe still follows the pattern I've theorized is taking place. 

Something up with Alice. She seems more depressed and serious than she usually is in this episode. (through episode 9 I think I know why but I'll get to that later. I don't believe she is completely in the dark like some of the newer employees and after hearing about Gwen's promotion she is getting suspicious. we have yet to know if Alice knows what's happening. but her behavior in this episode might give us a hint about how naive she actually is.

Colin is Absent. After his freakout in EP 7, Colin is MIA. according to Lena, he's on a mental health break but I would not be surprised if that is a lie.

Gerry and Gertrude are Alive!! Probably the most exciting development in this episode was meeting an alive Gerry Keay and Gertrude Robison. Sam is on the hunt for info about the Magnus Institute after the emails Jon has been sending him and he and Celia end up meeting Gerry who in this universe is considerably more happy and lives with Gertrude. I'm interested to know what role Gertrude plays in this universe is she at all connected to the Institute? I definitely think something is up with her because of the way she tries to deflect Sam's question to Gerry.

Celia Lore. after the meeting with Gerry leads to a dead end for Sam, Celia asks him to help her with her mystery. "I'm trying to look into... Weird physics stuff: time travel, other dimensions, teleportation" More proof for this Celia being from from Archives. why else would she be looking into other dimensions specifically if she wasn't trying to figure out what happened at the Panopticon. (Remember as far as we know Celia before the change in Archives was just a normal person she had no connection to the entities or the Institute.) when Sam asks, she says it's for her friend's podcast but I think she's lying. or not telling the full truth.

Georgie Barker Perhaps? speaking of the friend. our last reveal of the episode is Georgie in protocol. I don't think she is from Archives because Georgie appears after Jons's sacrifice in MAG 200. 

And thats it for episode 8 so im gonna move on to Episode 9

What happened in Episode 9: Rolling With It

Sam is back to filling out onboarding paperwork but the questions on it are strange. asking about past traumas, how many dead things you've seen recently, and the infamous question why? similar types of questions that appear in TMA job interviews.

A Magnus Statement!?! After Celia tells Sam she can't find anything at the Magnus Institute Sam considers cutting his losses and letting it go. But then Chester without any prompting begins reading a Magnus statement incident to Sam. I still believe Chester is Jon and he acts as a mentor to Sam trying to keep him safe by providing him with bits of the answers he's looking for. (this way Sam won't be in danger of looking for answers elsewhere and maybe he won't be targeted by this unknown force that had killed RedCanary and driven Colin to extreme paranoia.) the statement reveals that the institute collected and stored artifacts much like the Institute in Archives. 

What's the deal with the Institute? the statement Chester shares this episode is pretty standard Magnus stuff, magic fear dice is just another Thursday for TMAG enjoyers. but what I found most interesting was the pre-statement info. What does this viability survey mean? viable for what? I and my roommate have a kind of joke theory that the Institute in this universe is a hub for training and creating new avatars but now I'm starting to think this might actually be the case. I think they are looking for people who have the potential to become avatars as subjects. for the agents, they might be employing avatars to work for the institute and the catalyst has to be finding an avatar that can complete the ritual and bring the Change. The unknown statement giver in this episode can't be a subject because they are already claimed by a power from the dice (still unsure what power it is ) they have low potential to become an agent because based on the end of the statement they now want nothing to do with the dice stepping away from their identity as a fear avatar and then dying. and for some reason, the institute must see some potential that this individual can serve as a catalyst for the ritual. I'm hopeful we'll get another avatar statement and maybe we can revisit this Viability survey again 

Gwen's First assignment. Gwen gets her first Liason assignment and it has brought up a major player from the protocol ARG. Mr Bonzo is this weird mascot character that showed up multiple times in the ARG that was launched back in the fall of 2023. Gwen is tasked with delivering an envelope with a name and address to Nigel Dickerson someone who according to Gwen is known for Mr. Bonzo. Basically, I have no idea where this is going but I definitely think it must be important. 

Poor Alice. Alice meets with Teddy to catch up. Nothing story significant happens here but we do learn that maybe Alice still harbors some romantic feelings towards Sam.

The Ruins. After her conversation with Teddy Alice is approached by Sam with a request. He wants to go to the old Magnus Institute ruins and wants Alice to come with him. This is definitely a bad idea but she agrees and that's where we leave off

and thats it for now. The story is getting so good and I'm already attached to all the characters so im terrified to see what Sam and alice dig up at the ruins (Sam clearly didn't heed the warning of the RedCanary)

this is a great question! great question that is tough to answer (half lie). umm i would say that my favorite is miles bc that's literally my son. he goes through a LOT and i feel for him bc it was never something he asked for, it just happened. but he took it like a champ in my opinion bc if it was me i would have ****** ******. so he is probably my number one favorite. but my LEAST favorite has to be miguel. the cliffhanger had me gagged! woahhhhhh. i actually went in blind bc i watched atsv first with my friend, then i went back and watched the first movie and had to lay out all the lore for myself (which you can read here if you'd like). safe to say, im very (im)patiently waiting for the third movie shameik please stfu bc i think there’s a lot that can be done with that whole storyline. plus i thought it was really cool (and sad) to see how miles g's world was so different from our miles. it was different different bless it. seeing who he became with the loss of his dad was really interesting. plus miles g cool as hell don’t even joke. the cliffhanger actully led me to one of my fav fics (which you should totally read if you haven't). um this is a hard question, but for nostalgia's sake imma say the second one, just because i watched it with my friend in the theatres and that was a really special experience bc she was answering all my questions and we both love love spiderman. New Marvel Legends Figures!

So I had been even more quieter than usual because my home country is a shit show and I am losing my mind- so I decided to comment/make fun of the new revealed legends Figures because this is how I chose to keep myself sane.

These are action figures for kids, at the end of the day. Had you ever gone to a kid and be like "Hey remember that super hero who appeared for five minutes and then died tragically?...Want to play with him?"

...Damn, Gwendy didn't you go a bit crazy with the hair there?

For those who don't know, these are marketed as Across the Spider-verse toys, not beyond, which means that this isn't about some future look she is going to have in the next movie.

No idea why give her Lyla instead of Miguel, but to be honest having her as an extra isn't as weird as making Gwen look like she came from a cyber punk movie.

Speaking of Cyber Punk-

...Did they know, that they couldn't white wash this one, so they decided to give him the pinkish hue he had in like one scene?

I do think this is one of the best looking ones, but I am also a Hobie stan so idk man. I still don't like the colour choice, but I guess is a tad better than trying to make him lighter; because at this point I don't trust shit.

Speaking of not trusting-

....Well, I don't think he is white-washed, but damn, what did they do to his hair? And is just me or that expression looks like he is scared shitless?

Did they just decide to do weird hairdos for Gwen and Miles? I am not the biggest fan of Gwen with purple hair and blue highlights, but this one isn't much better.

And since we are on the topic of Miles-

I am sorry I couldn't stop myself, look I know this dude is built like a toothpick (SPECIALLY in comparison to our Miles,) but DAMN, in this it looks like you can snap him, and not just because this is a cheap plastic at the end of the day.

Well, his expression is kind of weird but not a complete loss, hard to say from here but I don't think they fucked his braids which I am glad because I love his hair style.

Now, even if I was complaining about this, I am not that much of an asshole to say you can't want them, if you want, or give them to a kid you know I don't know.

So I just saw one of yours umbrella academy post. Imagine if Umbrella academy familly met cursed princess club, how do you think it would go?

(Sorry I just woke up; so my thoughts might be a bit jumbled)

Umbrella Academy x Cursed Princess? Now that a crossover I haven’t seen! But!!!

Now I feel like if the umbrella gang from season 1 meet the princess; it would probably be chaos.

- for one thing; if the UA somehow got transported to the Princess world; they’d be so so confused? (“Five you can travel to different dimensions??” “No??? Idk how this happened”)

- s1 Luther and Lorena would get along. Maybe Diego too…All three of them are very strong and they all want to protect their family.

- Alison would probably try to remember as much detail about this world because she absolutely going to tell this story to Claria. She probably hang out with Maria

- once she find out the princess are actually teenagers she probably get a bit worried for them.

- Klaus and Jamie would hang out. But Jamie would definitely get uncomfortable around Klaus since S1 Klaus is an addicts and idk if the pastel kids like, know what addict are.

-Jamie’s would forcefully try to talk to Five. Because one he thinks he’s a kid (oh thank god there a another kid here around my age) and two he wants to talk to fashion with him. And three, Jamie probably wants to help five because he could tell something was off.

- also??? Victor and Gwen??? Oh my god those 2 are super similar. But Victor would like low-key be uncomfortable with how happy and positive the Pastel kids are and how they have healthy (at first glance) relationship.

-if S1 gang meet the Curse princess club? They would probably fight. But after the fight they probably stay and try to figure out how to get home with their help (the UA gang are reluctant but they don’t have any other choice)

- Prez would try to help them, with different levels of success. (Luther, Klaus, and Allison I can see Prez being successful). But with the others; it take a longer time to help.

- the UA gang once again feels weird that an actual 25 year old has better communication with her emotions then them….

-They have mixed feels on the Plaid Princes and King Leland. (That dude is totally suspicious.” “Ew plaid?? With pastel?? That a horrible look” “why does he keep wanting to have them be married?”

- five is so so stressed. First he in the body of a 14 year old, then his siblings don’t believe him about the apocalypse THEN he’s transported to a new colorful world. That boy is so angry and anxious; he just wait for the commission to strike. (He half believes that he’s in a situation or he’s having a weird dream)

If the S2 UA gang meet the Princess? Nothing super major would change.But there would be more talking and less “fuck around and do whatever type of plan”

-S2 Allison would immediately try to adopt all the pastel kids. (Were is you dad? Wait he leaves for super long trip? You don’t know what he does for work???)

- s2 Diego would be like 100% more suspicious of King Leland. (He would also definitely teach the kids how to throw a knife)

-s2 Klaus would actually try to talk to the kids and try to figure out what is happening. But in like a odd semi cryptic way? He would go from place to place gathering info and making enemies.

-s2 Luther and five are just…exploring and learning about the world. Probably end up helping Klaus.

-s2 victor lose his memory so he like super confused about what’s going on. But he like, help take care of the palace and kids and teaches them how to play the violin.

-s2 gang meeting the cursed princess? They still try to fight; but less so. They actually try to work with them; but not try to communicate on what their feelings.

S3 gang? Oh there so fucking tired of dealing with the apocalypse and whatever that this might as well happen!

-S3 Allison is so so angry and bitter but she try not to take it out on the kids. (Jamie forcefully try to talk to her)

S3 Luther and Diego are just vibing. They talk and question Leland and his motivation because why the hell not? What gonna happen? Another apocalypse yeah, whatever.

-s3 victor would try to talk to Gwen because damn; the little girl is so painful like him. He would also probably get along better with Prez too.

-S3 Klaus and Five also try to find out what going on; but this time they would actively go to the plaid kingdom place and search for clues.

As for how the family would get home? Not a clue? Maybe either a magic object or thought the power of love?? Idk

Oh my goddd I forgot about Ben!! Ok so like he’s a ghost? So there like a 50% change that ghost can be seen in the pastel world; so depending on witch season goes to the Pastel world, there different reasons.

S1 gang is shocked and upset that Ben was here the whole time!!

S2 gang are still upset that he’s here but yay! He’s here!!

S3 ???? :( no ghost!ben in season 3

(Ughhh hope this rambles was to you’re satisfaction! Sorry that not like a whole lot of characters analyzing…But this was pretty fun to do?)

I have my own little version of this if anyone is willing to hear me out.

I feel like Merlin would hide the pain and try to figure out how to undo it himself but also stubbornly stay closer to Arthur then ever before believing this spell to be a plot to get him away from Arthur so they can finally have a chance to kill him without him around as protection.

Meanwhile the bad guys watching from the sidelines are freaking out thinking the spell failed. Merlin by this point has monster levels of pain tolerance and although he feels the pain he has become quite good at hiding his reaction to it with his secret and life on the line it's a skill he's worked hard at developing.

Arthur probably only feels a less severe version of the spell as Merlin subconsciously protected him from the worst of it. Que him asking Gaius why his heart hurts whenever Merlin is around, meanwhile Morgana who had original been worried and followed him into his check up snickers at her poor oblivious brother. Gwen is gonna love it when she tells her later.

Gaius having not been updated on the magic attack on the prince du jour makes a wrong assumption and refuses to answer the prince's delima and instead gets him to consult everyone he's known to have a crush on Merlin in the past and leaves it at that.

He's to old for the drama that will unfold from this, he just hopes Merlin comes out of it okay. (Meanwhile Arthur learns that basically all of Camelot is in love with his servant and hears that they all gave up because it was obvious Merlin either wasn't interested in love or was already devoted to another)

You both get the angstiest episode whenever Merlin's pov is on screen, then when it's Arthur's you get the sweetest purest episodes about realizing his feelings for Merlin and coming to the realization that Merlin is his world.

Maybe this could go on for a couple episode where other things happen and Arthur slowly realizes that he's been treating the love of his life like crap and tries to learn as much about Merlin as he can to make up for it. He slowly realizes how little he knows about hims and eventually he learns all of Merlin's favourite things, his mannerisms, but he also realizes that whenever Arthur is around Merlin tends to perform. Not quite lie but overreact or make himself seem dimwitted on purpose.

Whenever Arthur throws something at Merlin he reacts to pain strongly which had in the past lead him to believe Merlin to be a bit of a wimp. He know better now since the day he saw him burn his whole hand on a pot when he thought he was alone and barely reacts. Later on he asks him about the bandages and Merlin makes a story about his clumsiness leading him to get a small scratch. Arthur knows that Merlin definitely should no be able to do his chores let alone hold anything right now especially while being this calm about it.

This leads Arthur to more closely observe him when Merlin thinks he is alone or how he acts when around others. Thankfully Merlin seams to perform in front of other's too except Lancelot.

Btw this would not be rushed and be a weird fusion of angst, humour, fluff, romance and character development galore that goes on for a long time as other stories happen the curse would still be there.

Eventually would maybe overhear a version of his rant to Gaius about how much stress he's under + the spell.

The main reason Merlin hasn't fixed the curse is because he's been toi afraid to leave Arthur's side so Arthur decides to tell him he knows and that they can go look for answers together!

Except he messes up and confesses instead. He also lets Merlin know he knows about the spell but in the moment he forgets to also reveal that he knows about Merlin's magic.

So now Arthur has a secret of his own and struggles to reveal that he knows as him and Merlin get closer and closer then ever before.

In the end the reveal goes a little like this.

Arthur: "Merlin I have something to tell you. I'm sorry I've kept to myself for so long."

Merlin: Merlin having been so happy lately has totally forgotten about his own secret and assumes that Arthur is finally ready to say the words I Love You.

Merlin: "Arthur you know that whatever it is you have to say that I'll accept it and still be here, I'm not going anywhere 😌💙"

Arthur: "I really should have told you this long ago, I know that me not telling you has hurt you and I am so sorry"

Arthur: "I just want you to know that you are safe with me I will always protect you."

Merlin: 🥰

Arthur: Arthur trying to get this over with rushes his words "Merlin-you-are-a-sorcerer-and-I-still-love-you"

Merlin: "I love you t... Wait WHAT!? 😱"

Merlin: I'm a what now!?

Imagine this

Arthur and Merlin get cursed by a sorcerer/sorceress to feel pain when they get too close to each other. The opposite of the forced proximity trope.

When they finally figure out how the curse works, they don’t seem that worried about it. Arthur jokes about how Merlin was annoying him recently and Merlin mentions getting some time off for once.

However, it’s so hard for them to stay away from each other. They keep accidentally getting too close to one another. It gets so bad that they have to be dragged to Gauis by some knights that found them passed out in the hallway.

Arthur and Merlin are more bothered by the curse than they would care to admit. They make a silent promise that they won’t leave the other alone for at least a week when it’s done.

I rewatched Queen of Hearts again. I couldn't help myself. It's perfect until Dragoon shows up.

I just think it's unfair that Gwen was nearly banished and sentenced to die, but after she was arrested the episode became all about Merlin and Gwen only reappeared at the very end. It's To Kill the King all over again. That episode also appeared to be about Gwen at first, but, after her father was killed, became all about Morgana. Both episodes are important - Queen of Hearts was the first time we saw Emrys, and To Kill the King was the first time Morgana tried to kill Uther - but what of Gwen? She went through something traumatic in both episodes just so other characters could have their moment. She became a mere footnote in the end, totally forgotten by the writers.

At least we saw Gwen again in the end, but her brush with death wasn't even mentioned. The writers were always doing that to Gwen. In With All My Heart, Gwen's trauma wasn't addressed either.

Imo, the parts with Dragoon dragged, and I didn't like how Arthur went from being serious and concerned for Gwen to an idiot. He was even defending his father from Dragoon's remarks, after Uther had sentenced Gwen to die. Honestly, the Dragoon and Arthur scenes felt disrespectful to her. The comedy in light of Gwen's plight was jarring. The tone of the episode shifted so much after Gwen was arrested... Like I said in a previous post, I dislike that we didn't see Arthur try to rescue Gwen, though there's a scene of him speaking to his guards. Also, before Gwen was arrested, we saw Arthur place something in a bag, presumably getting ready to run away with Gwen.

I truly don't get Merlin's plan. I love how far he was willing to go for Gwen, and I love their friendship a lot in this episode, but if he had only intended for Arthur, and not the guards, to catch him placing the poultice in Arthur's room , how would that have helped Gwen? Uther wouldn't have believed that Arthur saw a sorcerer in his room without proof. Without seeing the sorcerer for himself, I doubt Uther would've trusted Arthur, who, according to him, had been enchanted.

When Dragoon told the King that Gwen had been enchanted too, there was a moment where Arthur clearly processed his words before deciding to ignore them. It's a bit weird that neither Arthur nor Gwen believed Dragoon, since he'd had no reason to lie, but they might've figured that even if Dragoon had enchanted them, they were already in love so the spell would've made no difference to them. Also, Arthur had already been under a love spell once, in Sweet Dreams, and knew what they felt like. Ironically, it was Gwen who had broken that spell, because their love was true, so had someone enchanted them, their kiss of true love would've broken the spell immediately...

Imo, Arthur should've looked far more distressed about Gwen dying, so I think Bradley's acting left a bit to be desired there. But Arthur did well. He chose Gwen over his father and was willing to do so again. It was funny when Arthur told Uther he would relinquish his right to the throne, because Merlin's face was like "Hoe, don't do it... Ah, he did it now. We're fucked." And Arthur missed Uther slapping Gwen across the face. Wonder how he would have reacted to that?

But Morgana's face when Arthur said he would leave with Gwen - she was truly surprised and lowkey looked at him like he was an idiot. What kind of outcome had she expected or hoped for? Perhaps she had believed that Gwen and Arthur needed to be separated forever to truly prevent her vision from coming true? Also, Katie's acting in this episode wasn't great... That evil smirk...

Extra: Hunter and King are partners in crime, constantly working together to compensate their individual weaknesses

Gwen first discovered Eda had a kid a few months after she kidnapped adopted him and Hunter hid like an angry cat under the couch, which is where Eda was fine to let him stay, until he accidentally gave himself away and Gwen discovered him. Gwen's first thought was "oh Eda you have a gremlin in your house. dont worry, i'll take care of it" and Eda is scrambling to grab tiney Hunter into her arms like "NO NO HES MY KID" and Gwen is going through Many Emotions upon hearing that shes whirling around like "YOU HAD A KID?? AND YOU DIDNT TELL ME?" meanwhile Eda is still holding Hunter like "well i mean hes not mine mine but kinda?" and Gwen is a mix between "omg im a grandma" & "i cant let her keep the kid can i?? i mean shes still Suffering from the Curse is it Safe?" which wouldn't work out well because 11yo Hunter has had 0 proper ways to express emotions up until now and finally has a nice adult in his life. Gwen will have to drag him kicking and screaming all while risking getting a finger bitten off. she doesnt, obviously, because Eda puts her right in her place when she voices her concerns, but Hunter was Prepared to do it.

Gwen sees him as her grandson even if Eda and Hunter dance around actively calling each other family. her general opinion on him is "hes weird and hisses at me a lot and i feel very bad for him but hes my grandson and i love him". she learned very quickly that Hunter has no magic at all, and for a little bit was convinced it was proof Eda's curse was contagious until Eda shot that down. after figuring that out she dedicated her time to helping BOTH Eda and Hunter 'cure' themselves. Eda is her main objective, but she adds in a good amount of research to try and cure Hunter, too. something neither of them want. its because of Gwen's insistence on curing Hunter in the thought that theres something Wrong with him that caused Hunter to have the same opinion towards Gwen as Eda, but without the years of history Before she was like that. so whenever Gwen shows up he's hissing at her for getting close and ducking behind Eda all while insisting hes not hiding, he is just sacrificing Eda to whatever 'cure' she has this time first so he has a chance to run. he also especially isn't a big fan of her because of how she pities him for being unable to use magic, and he feels she thinks hes weaker for it and needs to be babied, and oh how Fragile he is in a world like this, just Look at those scars. it gets better after Gwen realizes her errors and apologizes to her two daughters, and later offers an apology to Hunter. takes him a little longer to be civil with her, hes Hunter after all this kid doesn't trust just Anyone, but they get there.

and god, yeah, Hunter and King would be PEAK crime partners. King was like 3 when Hunter arrived at the Owl House, so he only really remembers a life that had Eda and Hunter in it. it took tiney Hunter a little bit to figure out what hes supposed to do with the demon kid but the two manage to get along and do Crimes together rather effectively in spite of their shortcomings. King didn't know Eda's past, so I doubt he'd know any of Hunter's. I'm tempted to make another post detailing the relationship between King and Hunter and how they lived w each other

It is they, the bisexual girlfriends 💗 These two were fun to make because I've been wanting to try out some other body styles to test myself, and these two both had different styles for me to work with. I hope you guys like them, and Charmcaster and Mike will be up next in the redesign/rewrite.

-Kai Green-

Kai Green be eating her greens, because this girl is ready to wreck something. I always figured she'd have a strong build due to her work and lifestyle, plus I wanted more muscle girls in Ben 10 lol. Now, a lot of us take issue with Kai due to some problematic character traits, and strange introduction timing in Omniverse, so I hope to due her some justice since she does have an interesting idea about her that could work, just not as Ben's "love interest" in my eyes...But if you still ship it, I hope you enjoy it! But I'll be keeping with my KaiXEster ship here.

Kai knew about the Plumbers and aliens growing up, due to her Grandfather being a Plumber, and while her parents weren't, none were too weirded out by the idea of aliens due to growing up with such knowledge. Thus when Ben goes through that whole wolf stuff, she never really batted at eye at this. Now she does a lot of work related to alien stuff, mostly related to culture and history, searching tombs and temples to learn more about the past of different races, including alien influence on earth before the world knew about aliens.

She wields excalibur since pulling it from the stone where it laid, and it was later discovered that excalibur was an early prototype for ascalon in Ledgerdomain.

While Ben and her have broke off, they remain on friendly terms, and now their banter is a lot more friendly without the pressure of a romantic relationship over them. Ben even goes to her for help on certain missions sometimes.

When she had been dating Ben, her and Kevin met and became good friends, and have this dynamic where they can swear and call each other names in playful banter, and will give a blunt talking to the other when they need it.

Kai knows a variety of combat styles she's learnt while travelling, and a lot of techniques that help keep her calm in stressful situations.

She's loves it when people ask her questions related to her knowledge of history and myths, and will gush on about a topic for hours if you let her.

Never one to back down from a challenge.

Has been known to dive head first into danger if it means saving someone's life, or even an artifact from breaking (may or may not be a daredevil).

-Ester-

Ester's colour pallet was a lot of fun to work with, and making her a thin twig under all that fluff was nice to play around with too. It's a shame what the writing pulled with her for her last few episodes, but she was a fun character to have when she was around. I think I'd make the kraaho like her in being long and thin, though very tall compared to her, because I kind of got tired of seeing so many buff/gorilla shaped aliens, and just wanted something a little different. But that's just me, hope you enjoy her.

Since kraaho live in magma and volcanic chambers, they tend to wear volcanic glass as jewelry and pieces on their outfit. It's common fashion for them, and Ester has made friendship bracelets for others with them.

Ester has met and befriended most of the Plumber kids, and is closest with Alan, which she originally meet when needing warmth from him, but the two get along great.

She eventually stepped down from leading her group for sometime, due to wanting to travel earth more and spend time enjoying her youth better, knowing she's not ready just yet to lead, but will do so again one day.

Ben, her and the 'Kineceleran Kids' still love to play hockey against each other, and sometimes get their other friends to join. There was once a match involving Rook, Ben, Ester, Plumber Kids, Kevin, Gwen, Julie and Kai, that was brutal but hilarious.

She lovesssssss spicy food, and will drown a lot of her food in hot sauce.

Has a bit of a soft spot for cheesy romantic films. She knows they're unrealistic, but something about them is nice to watch.

Due to her elastic like body, whenever she stretches it looks ungodly due to her being able to twist and bend in ways that don't look possible. She also once tried to copy Kevin cracking his knuckles, but this didn't work, much to her annoyance.

Both her parents died when she was young, trying to protect her group during an attack. When they were gone, the majority of her group raised her, and she calls a fair few of them her aunts and uncles. Seebik use to be her closest uncle, but it hasn't been the same since he turned to a life of crime.

-Shipping Notes-

Both Ester and Kai don't like the cold, and will both openingly complain when temperatures dip. They both like to cuddle because of this, especially Ester, and there have been many nights they fall asleep against each other.

Ester likes to follow Kai around earth during missions, and will often help her out, the two having explored many ruins and temples together during dangerous adventures.

When Ben and Julie got back together, both Kai and Ester had hooked up around the same time, and the two couples bumped into each other. Now they often go on double dates, and have great fun together.

Kai is mostly the protective one out of the two, and will go ham on someone who dares even look at Ester wrong. But that being said, Ester can get scarily protective too if you push her or Kai far enough...

Ester often has to patch Kai up from some kind of damage whenever and adventure happens, and as she stitches up a wound she gives Kai a good lecture on being careful next time, and Kai thinks it's adorable seeing her get fussy and worried.

While Ester could stretch to be tall when the two kiss, she likes to make Kai bend down to give a smooch to tease her.

Sup! I'm back with another ask!!! How about... Lost In The Woods and Uniquely Normal? (P.S. It's funny that you did the "they're still aliens" in your Modern AU because I actually did that in one of my AUs too!!!!)

Lost In The Woods takes place about two months after Echo’s “death” in the citadel arc. Fives has been trying to process the whole thing, but Rex can tell that he isn’t at 100% yet

This is also around the time when Tup and Dogma join the 501st, so everyone’s been adjusting to the newbies

Rex can tell that Dogma’s having a harder time than everyone else—the kid doesn’t talk to anyone except Tup, spends most of his time in the barracks cleaning his armor, and really hasn’t bonded with anyone

So Rex comes up with The Idea

Shortly after landing on a forest-y planet, Rex instructs Fives to go scout the area. The captain also instructs Dogma to tag along

Neither of the two are happy with the arrangement—Fives doesn’t want to hang out with shinies, and Dogma doesn’t want to hang out with grumpy ARC troopers

But it’s not like they can argue with Rex, can they?

Fives and Dogma walk for a while—the whole situation is very tense and awkward—until a storm catches them by surprise and they’re forced to take shelter in a small cave

…they’re forced to stay there until the storm calms down

…which takes about 2 days

SO during that time, the awkwardness slowly leaves the scene, and Dogma and Fives actually bond a little bit! They don’t become besties or anything (have you seen how those two interact in the Umbara arc???) but they definitely understand each other a little bit better by the end of those two days

AS FOR UNIQUELY NORMAL EEEEEEEEK

This is a novel I’m working on—not a one-shot like a lot of my ideas—in which Hardcase is accidentally left behind on a planet and befriends an awkward lady named Merilyn

Merilyn is… okay, awkward is an understatement. She stutters when she’s nervous (which is pretty much all the time) says “um” way too much, blushes uncontrollably…

So basically me whenever I socialize-

Hardcase is about as opposite as he can get. He’s comfortable in any situation, talks loud, makes terrible jokes, sees the fun in every situation, and is really just weird—which fascinates Merilyn greatly. She’s never met anyone like him before

The two end up running into each other—no literally, they run into each other. She’d been too stressed out to notice and he’d been too busy trying not to step on any sidewalk cracks

Merilyn doesn’t know what clones look like, and Hardcase doesn’t bother to explain who he is… so Merilyn is left to assume that Hardcase is homeless

Here’s part of their first conversation :D

"Um, Hardcase?"

"Yeah?"

"Are you... okay? What-what I mean by that is, y'know," Merilyn asks, nervously tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Do you have any credits, or somewhere to sleep, or-"

"Nope."

"Pardon? You-"

"I just got here. My brothers abandoned me in the woods." He says it so casually, as if he's merely commenting on the weather.

"Your brothers abandoned you in the woods?!" Merilyn squeaks, heart pounding in her ears.

"Well, they didn't know they did. See, I snuck onto their ship, right? And then once we landed, I ran off and climbed a tree, then I fell off the tree, blacked out, y'know, and-"

"You BLACKED OUT?!" Merilyn cries.

That… that’s their relationship in a nutshell, honestly

Merilyn decides to buy Hardcase a coffee (which he’s never tried before. He puts about a bazillion creamer thingies into it) and once he says, “Oh yeah I’m like 11 by the way” Merilyn freaks out and drags him to a doctor

The doctor then reveals that Hardcase is not, in fact, a psychopath—he’s just a clone XD

After that, Merilyn figures that Hardcase should have somewhere to stay until his brothers pick him up, so she takes him to her apartment building and gets the sweet-but-also-terrifying owner, Gwen, to let Hardcase stay for a bit

As time goes on, Merilyn and Hardcase end up becoming friends—Hardcase thinks that Meri is the coolest person ever, and Meri thinks that Hardcase is funny and great to be around

As even more time goes on, they end up becoming… more than friends asfsbjdkfkfl

This is a book I’ve been writing for well over a year, and I’m still not even halfway through just argggg

I might start posting chapters on A03 soon, but I’m not too sure…

Been thinking about what Mordred's life in Camelot would've been like if Merlin didn't hate him and then thought about how if Morgana was around she would probably always give him her favor at every tournament (until he married) and the other knights would tease him for that so have a broad outline for a Beloved Characters Dont Turn Evil AU

Morgana discovers her magic and Merlin swears to her that he'll protect her. He comforts her when she's scared and Merlin begs Gaius to share his knowledge and suspicions about Morgana to Morgana herself. One night Morgana bursts into their quarters in hysterics, waking them up, screaming and sobbing, and it feels like Merlin's hug is the only thing holding her together but its not enough. Glass starts shattering, candles flare, chandeliers fall to the ground. Gaius decides at this point not telling her will do considerable more harm than not, to both herself and others. They stay up through the night. Gaius speaking and Morgana asking questions, Merlin with a supportive hand on Morgana's shoulder. At one point Morgana tearfully asks the question Merlin asked Gaius long ago, "am i a monster?". They all fall asleep at the table, and that morning when Gwen arrives to wake Morgana only to find her absent with her blankets thrown over the bed and several things knocked over she runs and alerts the guards. The guards initiate lockdown and the commotion reaches Uther and wakes Arthur (Merlin is once again late), and they proceed to fear she was kidnapped right under their noses without anyone knowing. Arthur runs down to get Merlin so he can prepare him for the day only to open the door to find the three of them asleep on the table.

Later Merlin organizes for Morgana to learn more than Gaius can tell her from the Druids, but she intends to stay the night at least, if not then significantly longer (anywhere from a week to several months), and they have no good excuse for her to use that would allow her to leave without Gwen and guards. They come up with some very convoluted plan, which does not end up in the raid that occurred in canon, and when Gwen catches her sneaking back she lies and says she wanted to check up on Mordred (who she did run into), to see if he was with the Druid encampment that was rumored to be nearby (which he was). She didn't learn nearly as much as she hoped in those few hours, but they at least pointed her in a direction.

Morgause comes to town, and leaves Morgana her bracelet. After discovering it stops her visions Morgana takes it to Gaius, who reveals it was enchanted and looks similar to the one Lady Vivienne used to wear. Morgana states Morgause got it from her mother, but that Lady Vivienne was Morgana's mother and wonders how the bracelet ever got to Morgause. Gaius says there was a rumor that Lady Vivienne had a baby that displayed a affinity for magic, but Gorlois told Uther their baby had died before they even named her. Gaius reveals that the baby was smuggled out of Camelot and given to the High Priestesses, and Morgause might very well be that baby. Morgana begins to long for a connection with Morgause, to meet the sister she never knew of and recover something of her dead parents. When she begins secretly meeting Morgause, she tells Merlin and then asks him to come with her when she begins receiving lessons from her. Morgause tries to convince them that killing Uther is the right thing to do, but Merlin keeps reassuring Morgana that all they need to do is convince Arthur to change the law for when he is king, and he's not ready to do that now so theres no use in killing Uther before he's ready, and that she does love Uther and Uther does love her and would try to "fix" her well before he ordered her death. Morgause still wants him dead, to rush the prophecy of magic's return. Them sneaking out every few nights cements the idea that Morgana and Merlin are secretly dating in castle gossip.

Im not sure what happens with Morgause, but i think she would still take Camelot at some point and she would spare Morgana and by extension Merlin. Morgana and Merlin make sure to get Arthur out (and Merlin probably goes with him) because they dont trust Morgause to not kill him. Morgause reveals her heritage (and makes Morgana a Princess and her Heir) despite claiming the throne for people of magic and not the House of Gorlois, and the knowledge that Vivienne and one of her daughters were sorceresses leads Uther to believe he can not save Morgana from magic that is likely in her blood and THAT is what breaks his mental state. Morgana's real heritage is revealed soon after, with Uther informing Gaius that Morgana being a Princess is actually within her birth rights. Morgause continues Morgana's training because at some point Morgana has to become a High Priestess because canon. That or Morgause switches sides (this is a Beloved Characters Dont Go Evil AU might as well make it No Beloved Characters Are Evil AU) and she trains Morgana later after Arthur is a established King.

Morgause is overthrown and the Round Table formed. Arthur as well as several people in the castle know of or suspect Morgana of being a sorceress but he refuses to banish her, first believing it to have been out of her control (forced by Morgause) and later learning that her nightmares had been magic all along (how could he punish her for something he knows she had tried to get rid of for over a decade?). Perhaps he lets her keep the title of Princess, having always seen her as a sister (and someone who is compassionate for the people in a way royalty should be) and armed with the new knowledge of her being his actual sister. Everyone expects Regent Arthur to crack down on magic, its what Uther would have done and what the people want, so he does. Morgana becomes a advocate for magic, as she had been for Arthur in private as a Prince, and it scares people in the castle. They believe her to be working with Morgause, despite her arguments being for individuals' wellbeing and how punishments fuels hatred for Camelot. Several attempts are made on her life, many stopped by Merlin and Gwen and sometimes Lancelot. Arthur often "asks" Merlin for his opinion on magic and with Morgana's voice being public he feels okay with being straight with Arthur on what he thinks. Uther dies same as he did in canon: protecting Arthur from a assassination.

Mordred becomes a Knight because canon. Morgana is ecstatic to see him again and acts like a mother who hasn't seen her child in ages when she first sees him. Merlin has learned you often make the enemies that are destined to kill you (ex. trying to stop Morgana's visions from coming true) so he ignores Kilgharrah and doesn't hate Mordred (he is always wary though). Mordred alternates between childlike eagerness around the knights and following Merlin around while hero worshiping him (no one can figure out why. Their best guess is that Morgana is a mutual friend). In the beginning he kept messing up his name (calling him "Merlin" is just weird) and they often talk in their heads and therefore just stare at each other which has led to two conflicting rumors: theyre in love or they hate each other. Morgana often invites him to dinner, and when they dine with Arthur they easily slip into mind-talking (because chewing) and Arthur is convinced that they're making fun of him every time they do it. He protects Arthur when Merlin can't, often runs off to do side quests Merlin needs to do but cant get away to do, and often tags along with Merlin on his quests. Being able to share the knowledge of his destiny since Lancelot died (if he dies in this AU) relaxes Merlin's caution and allows him to be emotionally closer to him. Mordred enjoys being around Merlin and Morgana not just because he's Emrys and she's Morgana, but because they are the closest thing to home he has: they know what he is, they understand (bits) of his culture and make it possible for Mordred to share it with them, their individual magic sings strong enough to remind him of when he lived surrounded by it. He quickly grows to love them so very much and no one understands WHY. The knights tease him about it, and Morgana forcing Arthur to take Mordred on certain missions he isnt qualified for "so he can learn" does not help. Gwaine and Percival were planning to convince him that he couldnt compete in a tournament without a lady's favor because he's the rookie and his panicked look greatly amuses them only to find Morgana giving him her's before kissing his cheek. They were relentless after that, alternating between "lady's favors dont count if they're from your mom," "Mordred has a girlfriend," and whatever the medieval version of affectionately calling him "Bambi" is. Morgana sits in the stand's throne (since Arthur is competing) or besides it if Gwen is queen, and she flashes a smile at him when he comes out (Gwen too. He's a sweet kid with a baby face, of course he's one of her favorites. He also reminds her of Merlin when she first met him: kind, awkward, cute). This settles Mordred's nerves but has the unfortunate side effect of increased teasing. Merlin doesn't let it go to far, he never does, and gives them a distraction before running back to Arthur.

And then magic is brought back to the land and Morgana continues the work of the High Priestesses and helps the rebuilding efforts and they're still adventures and problems, but everyone Lives Happily Ever After

So I think you’ve talked about your Doc Ock a bit on here... but have you ever encountered any other Ocks in other dimensions? How do they match up to yours?

Yes, I have. Doctor Octopus might not be exactly a universal constant, but it's certainly a common enough title that I've crossed paths with a fair number of them. I'm going to give a short little rundown of each of them, and why they should go to hell. This is gonna be a salty list. If you didn't want that, you should've come to someone else.

The Otto Octavius of Earth-1512 was the first alternate Ock I ever encountered. Unlike most of the Ocks on this list, I don't know or care what his deal is--I just spent an hour in my first ever alternate universe before I saw a man in armored green and yellow throwing cars around with mechanical tentacles. He was also working with the Green Goblin and holding civilians hostage at the time, which in my opinion is reason enough to put him in the ICU like I did. I've never been back to this universe and never will, but presumably he's just doing the same shit every month or so.

The Otto Octavius of Earth-8363, colloquially called God Ock because I guess we can't fucking help but stroke his ego, was the Ock I met during my first outing with what'd eventually be the Cluster. He's a weird edge case. First we fought a robotic duplicate of him, then his actual self after he'd done the dumbest thing I've ever seen an Ock do and integrated an extradimensional energy source into his fucking body in a bid for omnipotence. I suspect he was already basically dead when Gwen ripped the Shard out, but he had a backup personality on a secret hard drive and so we've met his AI self. He agrees it wasn't his smartest move. Still, fuck this guy. He apparently stabbed my alternate self in the back so he deserves what he got.

Oliver Octavius, of Earth-42711a, isn't a doctor. I refuse to call him Doctor Octopus, but he's calling himself that because he claims to be the son of Otto Octavius. Knowing Otto, I'm more than a little skeptical of that claim, but that doesn't change the fact that in a bid to be just like Daddy he dropped out of college to become a supervillain. When Melly noted that this plan was less than stellar he interpreted that as a personal betrayal and has sworn revenge on her. He's temperamental, idolizing of a man he's never met, and has an ego more fragile than sugar glass--and he's not even good at villainy. I walked into his lair, kicked his ass, and walked out again in less than five minutes. Oliver's pathetic. And he knows it, because he's scrambling to compensate with a desperation that anyone with half a brain can see is going to kill him very, very soon.

The Otto Octavius of Earth-22701 needs to fucking leave Morgan alone. The Peter Parker of that universe died like a century ago, and that Otto's engineered a way to stop aging so he doesn't even need to fight superheroes anymore. But no, he reads about a kid in New Orleans with my powers and decides that that's obviously his dead enemy having, I dunno, reincarnated or something. Instead of being the result of the spider-related experiments that he funded. I don't have a lot of respect for this Otto's intelligence. I've only met him in-person once, when I was going on the warpath and beating up everyone who's ever tried to kill Morgan, but for some reason having an actual Peter Parker knock two of his teeth out wasn't enough to deter him from his theory about Morgan being me. I'll try again as soon as I get a chance.

Odyssia Octavius, the Ock of Earth-777, is probably the least scientist and most mad of all the mad scientists here. Also the one who leans the hardest into the Octopus aesthetic, because alone among the Ocks she's a marine biologist. Now, unlike certain counterparts of mine I could mention, I actually don't give a fuck about her decision to serve an eldritch sea monster for power. Nor am I opposed to her overall goal--obviously we gotta save the environment, and obviously we're gonna have to fuck up some industries to make that happen. That's fine. My problems with her are more related to her habit of painfully twisting people she's got a grudge on into horrific monsters and then siccing said monsters on the populace. Even if that wasn't fucking abominable and evil beyond all recompense, it doesn't exactly convey the green message she's trying to go for. Maybe the Writhing One is modifying her logic to suit its own ends, using her as a puppet to get what it wants. Maybe she just fucking sucks. I've only ever spoken to her through the Internet, but if we ever meet face to face I'll be sure to ask which one it is right after I kick her ass and rip off big handfuls of that magic tattoo.

October Otto, the Doctor Octopus of Earth-2, is the only person in this list who I'm not inclined to attack on sight. It took me a little while to get to that point--when the me of Earth-2, Pax, introduced us I was pretty suspicious. But out of all the Ocks I've ever met, this is the only one who's not...nefarious. They're a little eccentric, more than a little shy, but overall a very well-meaning and selfless biologist. I'm glad I met them, even if their tentacles make me a little nauseous to think about. They and I still communicate occasionally, and after what happened to Pax I've been checking in with them to ask about their progress on a cure. This is one of the few people with whom I've ever felt the need to share my files on the Oz virus. I hope it does them good.

With the exception of October, all of these people are fucking awful. But none of them are as dangerous or as detestable as the Otto Octavius of Earth-61610.

The Otto I know is an unrivalled genius. His entire existence is devoted to biorobotics, and over the years he's integrated man and machine on a level that makes the Iron Man armor look like a remote-controlled action figure. He's modified his tentacles to counter my super speed, he's designed and redesigned a zillion different personal helpers, he's made himself the center of a technological superpower controlled solely by his mind. And unlike a lot of Ocks, he's not being manipulated by his tentacles. Nor was he driven insane by the accident that fused them to his body. No, this is a perfectly sane, rational prosthesis engineer who got so frustrated with the bounds of the law that he decided he had the right to start snapping necks.

He's a futurist, is the thing. A man with a grand vision of the technological utopia he could turn the world into, who thinks without a shadow of doubt that he knows what's best for the world and everyone in it, and who's decided that if you try to stop him from realizing that vision that the best thing to do is Remove you from the equation. Worse, he's written off massive swaths of the human race off as expendable--as little people whose lives are a perfectly acceptable sacrifice to bring about his future, who maybe even should be thanking him for the chance to finally mean something.

Every Octobot contains at least a few pieces of human brain. He kidnaps people, lobotomizes them, and integrates parts of their central nervous system into his systems to make his robots more adaptable and independent than purely mechanical systems could be. He's seeded mass-produced medicine with nanotech that hijacked the nervous system of the people who took it and turned them into unconscious parts of a worldwide neural network. On more than one occasion, he's tried to turn entire cities into his own personal laboratories, and everyone inside into lab rats.

Otto Octavius is a monster. No other Ock I've ever met even comes close.

“So, let me get this straight” Peter nodded for you to continue “You want to fake date?” He nodded again. You gave him a questioning look. “Care to explain or no?”.

“Right, right. So, Aunt May is starting to catch on. The other day, I came home all dirty from helping people and she looked at me like I just killed someone. So, you know about the spiderman thing so that's not a problem. And since your my best friend” He gave a sweet smile “i figure, when she finds out we've been ‘dating’ she’ll think thats why Ive been acting strange.” He explained like it made absolute sense. It didn't. You were contemplating throwing him off of the roof you where stood on.

“righttttt...” You looked at him strangely. “How do you know it'll work?” you had a feeling this was gonna go very wrong.

“well, you know- you know, she's aunt May, shell believe it” There was also another problem.

“You know if my dad gets wind of this he will literally kill you right? Like he will 100 percent get all the avengers to murder you, and then he’ll bring you back to life, then re-kill you himself” You stated dramatically. He paled then gave you a look. That look. The look that he had given you for the last 5 years. The ‘im right just trust me on this one’ look. 9 times out of ten he wasn't right. But for the sake of both of you, you hoped this was the one time he was right.

“Fine fine, ill be your fake girlfriend or whatever” You groaned leaning into his shoulder.

“Wow, (Y/N) act more believable” He joked.

“Ah, Peter Parker, of course ill be your fake girlfriend!” You laughed loudly, shoving him.

“Shh, she might hear you!” He joined in, throwing his head back in laughter. After the laughter died down, you lay your head on Peters shoulder. You looked out into the sunset. It made you feel weird. Peter Parker's girlfriend. No. Peter Parker's fake girlfriend.

As the night was getting late, you decided to make your walk home, not before making your ‘relationship’ very clear to Aunt May. She was sat in the living room as Peter walked you to the door. As he opened the door for you, May looked your way, so you stood on your tiptoes and pressed a quick kiss to Peters lips before scurrying out the door. He lifted a finger to his lips and blushed. Obviously Aunt May, who’d known you for 5 years and had never seen you kiss Peter, had some questions.

“Peter? What was that about?” Her question pulled him out of his romantic state. Its just because she's your best friend, He told himself.

“uh-h” He awkwardly laughed. Why was he so hopeless. “She's my girlfriend, now, actually” He mumbled tentatively. Before he knew it, Aunt May had gotten up and swooped him into a hug.

“I always knew you two had something going on!” She cheered. He furrowed his brows but hugged back nonetheless. Why would she think that? He shrugged of the thought and told Aunt May he was going to bed.

“Hey Parker! Hows ‘the plan’ going?” You jogged up to him as he made is way through the school corridors, clutching his camera. “She believe it?”

“y-yeah she did” He noted as you fist pumped the air. He thought you looked amazingly beautiful today. As you two stepped outside, he spotted a cleared bench, he longed to take a photo of you.

“(Y/N)?” He asked getting your attention. “Stand righttttt there” He pointed towards the clear bench as you happily jogged over and stood on it. Peter had always taken photos of you, but today it felt different. For him at least.

“Like this?” You giggled as you struck a pose.

“Yeah yeah, exactly like that” he threw his head back in laughter as he snapped plenty of photos at your ridiculous poses.

“(Y/N)! Parker!” Your photography fun was immediately stopped by the dreaded voice of Flash Thompson, making his way over.

“uh oh” You whispered to Peter as he helped you jump from the bench.

“I hear she's your new girlfriend” Flash nodded towards you, grinning devilishly. You and Peter looked at each other.

“Yeah- Yeah she is” He was trying to be brave. It wasn't working very well.

“Lay off, Flash” You both turned your heads your Gwen Stacey, the girl Peter had been crushing on for a few weeks. Although, he didn't feel like that any more.

“Come on, Gwen. You cant seriously believe this can you. Little Peter Parker dating famous Tony Stark’s beautiful, intelligent daughter?” You felt disgusted at his comment, so did Gwen. “Does Daddy even know? Nah, he couldn't, Parker would be dead by now. Or has Daddy just lost his game? Not as strong as he used to be. You could feel that Peter was about to say something out of anger, so you quickly moved your hand to hold his, even though anger was coursing through your veins

“Listen, Flash Thompson” The group of students surrounding the scene got slowly bigger. “im not dating ‘little Peter Parker’ im dating Peter Parker, a guy who is 10 times more smart and intelligent and handsome as you'll ever be. So why don't you go listen to Mommy’ nodding towards Gwen. “And lay off. Oh wait! You don't have a Mommy” You made a mock sad face then giggled. The entire group was in shock, even Peter. Okay maybe it was a bit uncalled for, but he shouldn't have insulted your dad.

Flashs’ face turned magenta as he balled his fist and tried to throw a punch. You ducked under his fist. Your dad had taught you to fight once you could walk.

“Wow! You just tried to hit a girl” You smiled incredulously, while Flash was still bright red. “Thats fine, im all for feminism, ya know, equal rights equal fights” You said nonchalantly. “You shouldn't have punched Tony Starks daughter though” You added, right as your fist connected with his jaw and our foot connected with his nether regions. You grabbed his arm and twisted it behind his back as the ever expanding group cheered. Just as you were about to stand on top him, Peter grabbed you and pulled you away.

“Okay, enough fighting, avengers style” He dragged you inside the hallway.

“He deserved it for what he was saying” You grumbled.

“Im sure he did but-” Peter paused as he saw the principle and two concerned looking teachers, making their way down the hallway. “Rain check?” He whispered.

“Yep!” You whispered back as you jumped onto his back and he sped of, out of the school.

“You have to admit, it was pretty cool” You grinned at Peter as he fixed up the cuts on your knuckles.

“It was cool. You knocked out Flash Thompson. ‘The’ Flash Thompson. But you got yourself hurt in the process” He whined.

“Wow, Mr ‘im-spiderman-and-i-risk-my-life-everyday Is telling me about danger, okay I see how it is” You joked.

“You know what I mean” He grinned. As he finished wrapping your hands, you heard footsteps coming upstairs. “Its Aunt May. What do we do?” Before you could think of anything, you instinctively brought his lips to yours and your hand fell into his hair. He kissed back passionately, like his entire life had been leading up to this moment. It sent a flurry of butterflies into your stomach. He felt the same thing. His lips tingled and his hand lay on your waist. You had officially caught feelings. And so had he. You heard the door open and kept your eyes tightly shut and lips moving.

“You got into a fi-” You furrowed your brows, that didn't sound like Aunt May. You moved away from Peters loving kiss to face the door. The second you saw who it was your face turned bright red, you were done for.

“Dad?!” You shrieked. Peter was drawn from his daze, dreaming of you beautiful lips, by your loud voice.

“Mr. Stark” He almost fell out of his chair at the sight of Tony Stark, Happy and Aunt May, all stood in the door in shock.

“Alright, Spiderling, hands off my daughter” Your dad hurried over and grasped your hand, gently shoving you out the room. Of course Tony Stark knew about him.

“s-see you later, Parker” You muttered. After Tony left, Aunt May shut the door awkwardly, returning to living room. And once, he was left alone with his thoughts. His thoughts about you.

04 - Stained Glass

Bright "Dork" Penny is actually from a few /tg/ threads in late 2018, in which we had the fun idea of an adorkable dragon, and steadily built a town around her. This is from pretty early in her introduction to the town, before most of the suggested campaign plot hooks.

Length: 2100 words Rating: E (though contains brief mentions of violence) Summary: A dragon is enamored by a stained-glass window, and wants some of her own.

Clearwater was a fairly average port town; according to the fishermen, it was even idyllic. When the wind blew just right, the smell of fresh fish and bread filled several streets. When it blew just wrong, of course, the farms managed to be perfectly upwind, but such were the risks. It was situated on the coast of the Great Crystal Lake, a veritable sea full of water so fair it sparkled like an enormous, polished sapphire when the sun found a good angle. In years past, several traveling poets had said of Clearwater, “it was exactly the sort of town an epic tale would begin in, only to have an unfortunate encounter with a dragon to start things off.”

And, well, they weren’t exactly wrong. But neither were they right.

The morning sun fell on the town, and in particular an old barn kept apart from the rest of the farmed plots of land. The front of the building was missing, and for several reasons, never replaced. One such reason poked her red, scaly head out into the outside air, with the rest of her soon to follow. Dorakathen Azurakluzzelenark Nur Zulauknagh, or “Bright Penny,” looked around, noted that someone had dug up her latest attempt at planting a sheep again, and gave her wings a nice, big stretch and flap. A soft groan from within the barn caught her attention, so she turned around to face the slowly-rousing woman within.

“Oh, Gwendolyn, did I wake you? I guess it is kinda early, still.”

The young woman sat up and waved her off. “No, no,” she said, “I’m used to being up with the sun. Do dragons usually sleep later?”

“Well... I do. My mother would always head out before the sun rose, said something about making sure she’s back before humans usually tried to steal from her.” The dragoness drew in and let out a big breath, taking care to keep the fire out of it, this time. “I never knew what she meant by that. You guys are pretty friendly, and with how often the ones around her lair seemed to gift her their old, claw-marked armors, I can’t imagine any human trying to take something from her lair.”

Gwendolyn thought for a few seconds on that, opened her mouth to speak, thought better of it, and instead asked, “so, Dork, how long is this happening, again?”

Bright Penny’s mouth curled into a smile. “Oh, the kidnapping? Just a week, same as how Mom would do it.”

“The, uh, the same?” the human said, paling. While the young dragoness seemed friendly, if a bit misguided and, well, inexperienced, her mother, Bloodstained Ruby, was an entirely separate matter. If any tale of life under her claw managed to escape her grasp, it was always one of terror and bloodshed. Her lair was filled with glittering, shining treasures and adorned with colored glass as red as her scales, all gained through pillaging, extortion, or both. While nobody knew for sure, any fool would guess that, if a ransom wasn’t paid, the hostage would serve as the main course for her dinner. Gwendolyn’s mouth went dry as she looked at the cheerful dragoness with her sharp claws and sharper fangs. “How... how would Bloody Ruby...?”

The red dragon sat back on her haunches and put a paw to her chin. “Well, sometimes humans would visit her with a big pile of gold and stuff for her hoard - and now that I’ve seen how much you guys usually have on yourselves, they must’ve really liked her! - and she’d go get her kidnap-ee, and then the humans would all leave together and Mom would have a nice smile for a while. Um, and then other times, humans wouldn’t come, or they would but I guess they weren’t the ones the kidnapped human knew, because Mom would shoo them away, or claw them if they went crazy and tried to stab her. I always thought that was too strict, since her claws are half the length of their bodies while their swords were pretty small to her.”

Gwendolyn glanced around the barn, looking for an exit that the dragon would have trouble following her through. “And, what about the kidnapped human after a week of... no visitors?”

“Oh, she’d ask whether they’d like to leave or get eaten - I guess she didn’t really have patience for long-term visitors, especially seeing as how she kinda did technically kick me out of her lair eventually.” She furrowed her brow. “It was weird, though, humans could definitely go up and down that mountain, but they always seemed to get eaten. ...is that a human thing? Because I don’t think I’m up for it with you. I hope that’s not rude.”

The woman’s brain fizzled for a moment. “Um... okay, I’ll... we’ll talk later, but as long as leaving after a week is one of those options, I’m fine.”

“Of course!” The dragon nodded vigorously, then got to her feet again and made her way out of the barn before looking back. “I’m gonna go see around the town for a while. I know I don’t really have all the actual kidnapping stuff like a fancy dress for you and a pole to lean against, but I’m trying my hardest, so please don’t escape?”

Bright Penny took a few steps away, then froze, spun, and stuck her head back under the barn roof. “I mean, unless it’s an emergency, of course.”

Her fears momentarily assuaged, Gwendolyn let out a laugh. “Of course. Have fun, Dork, I’ll be right here when you get back.”

“Great! Okay, see you, Gwen!” Bright Penny trotted away - this time, without turning back - and wasn’t able to see Gwendolyn put her head in her hands, trying to process what the dragon had oh-so casually said about her mother. Instead, the dragoness hummed a wandering tune and let her feet carry her to a rather interesting-looking building.

As she approached, she was drawn to the beautiful stained-glass windows in each wall. One showed a sheaf of wheat, its opposite showed a few fish hanging by lines, and the third had a woman in a plain dress, holding a sickle in one hand and a net in the other. Bright Penny circled the building a couple of times, then took a seat in front of the fish one and stared at it, admiring the way the sun pierced through the glass, giving a strange sort of energy to the art. She moved her head back and forth, playing with her shadow on the glass.

After a few minutes, a man exited the door on the unadorned side, and peeked around the corner. “Uh, excuse me, dragon? You’re the one who’s been staying at Brown’s old barn, right?”

Bright Penny turned towards the voice, looked around for a couple of seconds, then smiled when she saw the face. “Yes, that’s me. I’m Dorakathen Azurakluzzelenark Nur Zulauknagh, nice to meet you.”

“Dora Kathen Ashoora... er, pardon me.”

“Oh! Sorry, I’m still not used to being around people who don’t speak Draconic. It means Bright Penny, but some helpful adventurers said I could be called Dork for short!”

The man looked unconvinced, but slowly stepped out from behind “cover.” He was dressed similar to many of the Clearwater residents Bright Penny had seen, though his body was less toned or worn, so she guessed he did something that didn’t require much heavy lifting. “Well, Dorakathe- uh, Dork, what brings you to our town’s temple?”

“I just thought, if I’m going to go about figuring out how to be a proper dragon, I should know more about the town I’ll be- what was that word Mom used? Not terrorizing, uh... monitoring?” She shook her head. “Anyway, I kinda got distracted, and seeing these really pretty jewels made me remember that a dragon should have a hoard, and I don’t. So, may I please have one of these?”

One helpful thing about outlandish requests is that they are superb at making one forget that the one who asked was a dragon. As a prime example, the man replied, “what? No, they’ve been part of this temple for generations,” before his brain finally caught up to the rest of her words, so he quickly added, “uh, t-terrorizing? Where does your mom do that?”

“I’m pretty good with my claws; I’m sure I could help patch up the hole,” the red dragon cheerfully replied, then caught herself. “Oh, you mean ‘part of’ as in ownership. That’s alright, then. Where can I get one, then? ...also, what’s your name? I don’t remember if you said.”

“Abraham, I’m sort of this place’s priest. I’m not sure where you’d get something that big or intricate - again, it’s been generations - but you could ask the smithy. I know he can do regular windows.” Abraham said, then took a step back. “Also, what was that thing about terrorizing?”

“Oh, yeah, my mom’s Bloodstained Ruby. I think she’s just dramatic with that, though; it’s hard to believe she causes terror, with how many presents people keep giving her. Kept. But she probably still gets them after kicking me out, too.” With a destination in mind, Bright Penny unfurled her wings and crouched, preparing to take off. “I’ll go check the smithy out, then. Thanks, Abe!”

The words “Bloodstained Ruby” and “mom” were still sinking into Abraham’s head while he watched her go. He fell back against the temple wall, breathing heavily, then ran inside to begin praying to more gods than usual.

A peaceful stroll down an empty street and one abandoned-and-therefore-free fish later, and Dork found herself at her destination. Luckily for her, a red, fire-breathing dragon was not enough to scare away the blacksmith, who insisted that he’d weathered a lot worse - and she agreed, seeing as she was going to be pretty good at dragon things and therefore easy to be worse than. Although initially dismayed that she had nothing to pay for glass with, her enthusiasm soon swayed him to teach her how to make some, herself.

“Look, I’m sure it’ll wear down eventually, and until then, having a solid boulder of glass IN the beach is a bit of a novelty,” he said, “but I must admit, that may have been the most effective way I’ve ever seen to teach someone to make sure molten glass should only exist in something that can hold it.”

Bright Penny nodded and tried again, breathing fire around a large, metal cup filled with sand. Once its contents got nice and soft, she carefully dumped it into a mold she’d carried from his workshop. It was slow to spread out, so she reached out...

“No! Don’t!” the blacksmith shouted in a panic. When she looked at him, worried, he remembered that she wasn’t just another foolish human apprentice, but rather a foolish dragon. Waving his hand, he said, “nah, you’re fine. I’d burn myself doing that, is all.”

As they waited for it to cool, the dragoness looked down at her shadow, then up to the sky. “Oh! I’ve been out awhile, I should head home soon, after a quick stop by the bakery for Gwendolyn.”

“Gwen? The baker’s daughter? Whatever for?” A tough old smith like him, he could see hanging out with a dragon. But Gwendolyn? She was closer to a proper lady - in her mannerisms, if not by her upbringing and hobbies - than near anyone else in the town. “Also, take yer glass. It’s still hot, so don’t go touching it to anything, but it oughta keep its shape, or near abouts. Wouldn’t use it for a window, but it’ll look fine.”

“Oh, I kidnapped her, so her dad’s helping me make sure she can eat right.” The dragoness lets out a rumbling laugh. “You should’ve seen her reaction to him cutting shapes into her sandwich.”

In his mind, the blacksmith went over the locations of several swords, spears, and other weaponry that might prove useful in a rescue. “Kidnapped, eh?”

“Well, I did ask her first. Then I made sure to carry her and fly away, so I’m pretty sure it still counts as a real dragon kidnapping.” Bright Penny picked up her glass in one scaly paw and looked at it. “By the way, how do I get it to be all colored like the temple has?”

The man put his weapon-finding thoughts on hold until after he talks to the baker. “Hm. Well, tell you what. I’m busy tomorrow, but come by the day after and I’ll show you.” Either way, that would give him time to organize a few good men if need be. “I’ll get the mold back, myself.”

“Okay! Thanks so much for the help. My hoard’s gonna be so pretty...” With a leap and flap of her wings, Bright Penny was airborne again, thoughts of stained-glass dragons in her mind.

I know it's not the Christmas season but I'm obsessing over Arthur Christmas again and I have to point this out

Steve giving his place as next in line to Arthur really touched something in my heart. It was a shift in his mentality and it showed his character development.

You have to realize something about Steve Claus.

In the movie we learn these things:

Steve was refused something he really wanted from his own father, (who is SANTA) because he didn't touch Malcolm's ego with being santa. (When Steve was 8 he wanted a pool table but Malcom, his father, didn't give it to him because he didn't sit on his lap and ask)

in mortal terms, it's like your parent was a candy factory CEO and they would not give you, their child, candy unless you pay them

Because of this the magic and love of Christmas kind of dulled in Steven's eyes. He assumed it doesn't matter how a child feels, because that's how Malcom made him feel.

So he grew up being more technical in his role as next-in-line. He knew he was gonna be Santa. He was raised to be santa. He was grateful to know that was his destiny and that it was something Malcom would give him.

When he creates the North Pole to be efficient and manageable he felt proud of himself. He had something he could work with and get thanked for!

Or did he?

As we saw in the movie. It was the 'most accomplished Christmas ever' and that was all Steve. He choreographed the elves, he MADE the S-1 that made them deliver presents quickly, and ,from his knowledge, they delivered all the presents! He was happy he could do that!

Then Malcom went and claimed that it was his mission so it was mainly him. He DISVALUED his own sons accomplishment just to get a little confidence boost because, as we saw, he felt insecure about his role as santa.

This made Steve a bit frustrated but he brushed it off because it was supposed to be his father's last night and now it was HIS TURN!! He could get recognition.

That all changed when Malcom declared he would continue being santa.

HE DENIED HIS OWN SON THE DUTIES HE WAS PROMISED BECAUSE MALCOM DIDN'T KNOW WHO HE WAS WITHOUT BEING SANTA

I know some of you are thinking 'yeah but steve is being insensitive' if his accomplishments being disvalued was just the one time thing then I would agree. But it wasn't.

We are hinted at during the dinner that Steve continued getting overshadowed by both his grandfather and his father since he began the north Pole operations. Grandsanta continuously picks at him while Malcom focuses on his place as santa. Maybe his mother cares? Margaret obviously loves both her children. But when you're the children of SANTA you kind of have a weird place in the family.

To me I think both Arthur and Steve get pushed around too much by their family. They are two sides to the same coin. Arthur didn't let getting pushed back hinder his view of Christmas. While Steve saw how he was treated and pushed back to try to get noticed.

Anyways, back to the point.

When the child was missed we see more evidence of Malcolm's AND Steve's insecurities.

While Arthur was worries about the child, Steve tried to cover it up. When Malcom heard a child was missed he IMMEDIATELY shifted the blame.

'oh Steven how could you do that?'

Steve pushed back with, 'me? I thought it was YOUR mission!'

'but it was your department'

Things go on and peter points out that they had the best delivery that year. Steve repeated that to his father by saying

'my DEPARTMENT...' basically mirroring his own father's words.

Then you know what Malcom said? 'well done US'

That's not even the end of it!

Toward the end, when the other elves realized the missed child they went to Malcom and asked him.

Being faced by this, he says 'go to Steve. He can explain'

An elf points out, 'but aren't you in charge, sir?'

When they get to the HQ

Steve gets frustrated by all the questions because, to him, why DOES one child matter?? That goes back to his childhood. He HONESTLY thought one child didn't matter because back when he was 8 HE didn't matter. HE didn't get a toy under the tree. If you think he did, I want to point you to the fact that usually Santa only gives ONE TOY to each child. The other presents are usually from the parents. Since the North Pole can't give a lot of presents it's possible that they only give their children one toy each so they save material.

STEVE DID NOT GET A TOY WHEN HE WAS 8. That is WHY he was frustrated at everyone freaking out over this random child.

He LITERALLY SAYS IT 'who cares about one single tiny child?'

I'm not apologizing for Steve but I'm just pointing out why it's justified in HIS eyes.

Steve looks and sees Malcom staring at him and immediately his mind goes to 'oh no. I might never get the role if I don't rephrase that and says that he cares. (Which is a lie but go off)

Malcom starts saying how he's worried about Arthur and says

Malcom literally blamed Steve?

STEVE WASN'T EVEN THERE!!! HE WAS IN BED! Steve left Arthur at HQ WITH MALCOM BESIDE HIM

Malcom claiming it was Steve's responsibility to watch Arthur when Arthur is 20-something is proof of how much Steve gets pushed around and expected to take all responsibility of the negative things.

THEN MALCOM SAID THAT FORGETTING THE CHILD WAS STEVE'S DECISION!!! IN FRONT OF ALL THE ELVES!!! Sure Steve said it more but MALCOM AGREED!! also you don't just push your son under the bus just to look good.

This makes Steve crack a bit. 'i don't care anymore. Here's the location of all the important stuff. You take care of it all. Good night SANTA'

He doesn't even say 'dad' he is finished.

Further on Steve runs to the S-1 because it's getting dented and when he sees it's his parents going to deliver the present he gets even more frustrated.

He gets on. Malcom claims that the s-1 is his (even though Steven BUILT the thing)

Then Steve says this:

That's a face of a man tired of being the after thought of his own dad.

He EXPLODES!! He realizes that he will never get anything he was promised.

You can FEEL the emotion and let me just say that when I first watched this movie. This was the moment I realized BOTH Arthur and Steve played second fiddle. When the movie began I thought Steve was going to be the 'perfect oldest sibling' cliche. (Which as an eldest sibling, I think it puts us in a bad light) and seeing the insecurities of Steve here i nearly cried.

Back to the esssy

Steve gets to drive the s-1 and offhandedly comments how the delivery is the only thing that matters to everyone.

All the Santa's get there and Steve says 'it's so not fair' I'm not quite sure why he said that but I assume it's because he wanted to do something that will be looked positively on him. And at the moment Arthur was nearly in the house.

The bike gets delivered (by Arthur) and they end up in the closet to escape. Arthur asks to watch the kids open it from the closet.

Malcom finally realizes just how blinded he was over wanting to stay santa that he never was a dad. He pats both of their backs and says 'back in my day a pat on the back and a walnut went a long way.'

We get this image:

From the look of Arthur and Steve's face (especially Steve's) we can assume they never had any kind of positive touch by Malcom (No hug or anything???) and it surprised Steve!

Gwen (the child) opens the present and says 'santa brought me the bike I wanted'

Malcom examines Arthur and Steve's faces and tells steve

'you deserve to be santa' (because technically he does. He's the eldest and he was trained for it. But he doesn't have the heart for it)

Getting this recognition from his father, Steve gasps and reacts

Lip pursed like he's biting it, and eyes showing that he was about to cry.

He was acknowledged by his dad. He was told he deserves the role and that surprises Steve! Because before that he was only told that by his assistant, peter the elf, and his brother.

Peter is peter. Arthur is Arthur. They both love him and tell him that. But it doesn't faze him because they have no control over the matter.

Malcom then says 'but I wonder if Gwen was right' (meaning: he wonders if Arthur should be santa because of his heart and love for children)

At this point Steve notices Arthur is still watching the child play and realizes that Gwen would not have had a good Christmas if Arthur hadn't have cared so much about one single child. I think he puts himself in Gwen's place and imagines if his father cared about his Christmas like how Arthur did the child's.

He realizes that what Arthur did was more Santa-like then anything he had done that night. He makes a hard decision and gives the figure of Santa he had in his pocket to Arthur.

This is the part that really REALLY touched me. Imagine being promised something and believing that what you were promised was the only way to be acknowledged and loved by others. Then realizing someone else deserved the role more and giving it to them.

You can see that he's unsure about giving it but he knew it was best for the children. So no one would feel like he did when he was a child.

Malcom tells them that they are both good men and they leave.

That is why I honestly feel like Steve is a wonderful character and why the scene where Steve gave his future to his brother really warmed my heart.

And don't worry

He's happy in the end. I believe Arthur gives all the recognition after the missions to his brother because Arthur is kind and generous like that.
