I know the show runners of MAWS want to focus on the superman mythos (and I agree) but if i were to choose one hero to make a cameo it'd be the flash only because i think the superman v flash race is the kind of silly fun this series has going for it

Heroes & Villains The DC Animated Universe - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles
Elseworlds Addendum - The Flash (Barry Allen)
Barry Allen was a forensic scientist who worked for the Central City Police Department.  Late one night when he was at his lab, a freak lightning bolt struck a nearby shelf dousing Allen with a strange concoction of unnamed chemicals.  In some bizarre fashion, the result was that Allen could connect to ‘The Speed Force.’
As such, he could now run at supersonic speed, had matching reflexes and could heal rapidly from injury.  Furthermore, this Speed Force also protected Allen from the frictional velocity of moving at such extreme speeds.  With these newfound powers, Allen donned a crimson bodysuit sporting a lightning bolt and dubbed himself ‘The Flash’ becoming a crimefighter patrolling the streets of Central City.
The Flash would go on to help form the first iteration of The Justice League and also married his longterm girlfriend Iris West.  Allen perished in a valiant effort to save the multiverse during the Crisis of Infinite Earths; at which point his former sidekick, Wally West, stepped in to become the new Flash.  Allen returned from the dead several years later thanks to some complex machination of The Speed Force.  Reassuming the mantle of The Flash, Allen returned to protecting his city and serving on The Justice League.
Wally West was the main Flash of DC Comics at the time that the Justice League animated series debuted.  As such, Wally became The Flash of the DCAU continuity (with elements of Barry Allen’s backstory incorporated into Wally’s character).  Although a colleague of Wally’s at the Central City Police Department who resembled Barry did make a cameo in the Justice League Unlimited episode, ‘Flash and Substance.’
The Barry Allen version of The Flash first appeared in the pages of Showcase #4 (1956).

Ok this is based on my surface level understanding of the Particle Accelerator that gave Barry Allen his powers. I’ve also only watched the show and it’s been a really long time since I’ve read the comics.
Dani is traveling through central city in order to help Danny with a favor. He suspects that theymight have some ectoplasm that they found near a crime scene (one of his ghost fights got out of hand, by the time he realized, he found got back with getting caught by his parents)
So Dani helps. She breaks into the forensics labs where they’re storing the ecto. She’s goes in her human form to not make anyone think she’s a supervillain.
There’s a scientist in the lab. Barry Allen.
She waits until hes looking away to grab the ecto.
She’s spotted before she can escape.
After a couple of awkward moments of silence, it’s broken by the lightning bolt.
From what I can find, the reason Barry’s the flash is because he was standing next to forensics equipment and chemicals. By logic, Dani is also standing next to said equipment and chemicals. One thing is different.
She’s holding the ecto.
-
Barry was found in a coma like state, and another girl, around 13 was found next to him. The officers who found them say that she was melting and resolidifying into green goo. She looked completely normal when she and Barry were loaded into the ambulance.
Dani didn’t have paper of a birth certificate, she’s a clone. Any DNA tests crashes the computer. Shes labeled as a Jane Doe.
She and Barry are kept in close proximity at the hospital because of their similar conditions.
(Danny and Jazz don’t know what happened to Dani. To them, she’s disappeared, dead most likely. They think she’s been taken by the GIW)
Barry wakes up after 9 months but Dani’s still in the coma. The Flash team monitors her progress from the lab, ready to help her if she develops the same powers as Barry.
Then, 3 month later, on the one year anniversary of the accident. Jane Doe awakes.
Cisco forges documents that says the Caitlin is the girl aunt, and Caitlin takes her to STAR labs for testing.
They ask her if she remembers what happened on the day of the accident. Dani does, but she’s not about to land in jail, so she pretends she doesn’t.
Dani didn’t turn into more or less of a ghost, that lightning strike gave her the powers but that ecto made her DNA less stable, although she didn’t know it at the time. It also gave her a power boost.
Flash gets a partner, named Flare, who’s almost as fast as he is.
Things are good.
Until Dani starts destabilizing mid-run.
Things are grim. Nobody knows how to help, and Dani isn’t coherent enough to help.
Jazz and Danny are visiting through central city, looking for schools for the both of them. Amity is too dangerous for Danny with the GIW and Jazz is looking to transfer away from Metropolis University (the Alien attacks are very annoying, at least in central she doesn’t have to deal with city wide destruction threats)
Barry runs into a teen that looks exactly like Dani, and kidnaps him.
It wasn’t his best thought, but the teen recognizes Dani.
They vanish in a burst of light. Dani is no where to be found.
Barry is devastated that he got his partner kidnapped. Until she returns, completely healthy.

WAITERR MORE OF THE "Superdaddies issues" FRIENDSHIP AU PLEASE
Who are all the kids? And whose kids are they?? :3
I actually explained it a bit here, but I'll gladly elaborate a bit more 💕
Basically, this is an extension of my Yandere! Batfam x Neglected! Reader au, also known as the Tales of Bats and Wolves, only that it features neglected kids from the other JL members as well. Because while I love the, this dynamic is fun to explore and I believe not all of them would be fit to be good parents in certain situations. Not with their lives. The comics have proved that a few times.
The kids are: Oliver Queen's son, Hunter. Bruce Wayne's daughter, Aracne. Hal Jordan's daughter, Red Fury. Barry Allen's daughter, Velocity. Arthur Curry aka Aquaman's son, Nerion. Zatanna's younger brother, Kaos. Diana Prince's son, Punisher. And of course, Clark Kent's daughter, Power Girl. These are all codenames assigned to them to which they're referred to when they're "working", since their civilian identities are to remain secret (and also because you're free to self-insert in any of them so not giving names is easier).
Hunter was the result of an affair Oliver had with a woman he met during a mission, who turned out to be a mercenary undercover. Things got complicated between her, Oliver and Dinah, since the three of them were having a passionate but also borderline unhealthy relationship, with jealousy and other emotional conflicts. After getting pregnant, Hunter's mother cut things off with them to raise her boy alone because she didn't want to be shackled to those two, which she knows it's what would've happen if they knew of her son's existence. They were doing fine, until her past came banging at her door and she was killed. Hunter was picked up by Oliver himself, who revealed the kid he was his father, that his mum reached out to him not long before her death, and that he was taking him home. Buuut you know how that goes, both Oliver and Dinah are very busy and even when they aren't, they don't know how to approach the kid they didn't know about and who has his mother's eyes. Hunter is essentially cared for by babysitters, Roy and his mum's side of the family, who are the responsibles for teaching a lot of stuff he really shouldn't at that age. When his little brother Connor is born, he's suddenly his primary caretaker and expected to take care of him when their parents aren't around, which it's often. His skill with the bow and impeccable aim is what draws unwanted attention from certain invidivuals...
Velocity was conceived by Barry having a one-night stand with a co-worker, another forensic scientist, before going back with Iris. Her mother wasn't confident about raising her alone, so she told Barry from the beginning and asked him to at least pay child support to help her, but he ultimately decided to do the right thing and be present in his child's life, not just for the money. He was a good dad and they had a sweet bond, to the point he had arguments with the mom to keep Velocity with him more time than they originally agreed on. They co parented well enough and got along, since they still had to see each other every day at work. Barry was also mostly attentive that his daughter might've inherited his speedster powers, but she never showed signs. Velocity's mother is actually Leonard Snart's, aka Captain Cold, niece that ocassionally works as his ally, so Velocity has a certain anti-Flash sentiment in her house, which contrasts heavily with how everyone else she knows loves The Flash. Things started to go from bad to worse when Barry rekindled with Iris and focused more on her, spending less time with his daughter in the process. Then Wally came into the picture and Barry's time got even more divided, prioritising Iris and training Wally to his child, trusting the mother to handle it because, well, at least she was a normal kid. He and Iris got married, and then surprise, Iris gave birth eventually to their twins. That was the moment Velocity no longer was a priority in her father's life. It was all about his new family, his growing duties, and he stopped making time for her althoether. She still was expected to visit her dad and stay with him for a while, but she just felt like a ghost in that house, an outside spectator to his perfect little family, watching him being a loving husband and father. The only one who never failed her is Wally, but still, it wasn't enough to keep her in the good path. To fill the void, she stuck more to her maternal family, following her mother's foosteps to become a scientist and help uncle Snart's criminal bussiness. She was smart and quick on her feet, growing up used to run errands for him and sneak into places others couldn't. Unfortunately, her luck ran out while during a particularly tricky errand involving a chemical lab, she got caught and, trying to get rid of the attention, she crashed an experiment that exploded, emiting an electric force that sent them all flying and crashing to the ground. Velocity was the only survivor for some reason, but she didn't know it came with consequences. Not until she was running away again from guns, and suddenly her feet weren't touching the ground. When she stopped running, she found herself in another city entirely...Ops.
Power Girl is Clark Kent's daughter, with Jon being the second child instead. I still can't decide for the life of mine if I want her mother to be a nameless Darling, for the sake of this being both a platonic and romantic yandere au, or have her mom be Lois Lane because I adore this woman and can't imagine Clark with any other woman lmao. But it won't really change Power Girl's story much because her crux starts with the simple fact that she doesn't present kryptonian superpowers like Jon does, leading everyone to believe she doesn't have them at all. This pushes both her parents to focus more on Jon and the rest of siblings because they DO have kryptonian powers and therefore Clark has to teach them. Unfortunately, this makes them accidentally neglect the oldest daughter while at the same time expecting her to carry on responsabilities just for being "the oldest." She has to behave and be understanding. Her younger siblings are special and just need more attention, she should feel lucky for being normal and not having to deal with those problems. She has to look out for them because they're still kids, nevermind she's technically one too. Oldest daughter syndrome to the maximum. She's not "special" enough to spend as much as time with her dad as she wishes to, but she is to take care of the house when he's not around. I only gets more humiliating when she hears him tell Jon that it's his job as the stronger one to protect his sister and make sure she doesn't get hurt. She's also not allowed to do certain stuff because she's treated like a piece of glass. It's suffocating. Drives her insane, and deep down all she wants is to stop being good and break shit for once, to let out her anger. This wish eventually becomes true when she storms out of the house after a fight with her dad, punching a tree in frustration, only for it split in half by the impact...turns out she's a late bloomer kryptonian. And in a fit of rebellion, she decides not to tell anyone. Where were this powers when she needed them? When felt forgotten and insignificant because she didn't have them? Why now that she's finally used to her position?
Red Fury is Hal's daughter with a Yellow Lantern with whom he had an off-and-on tense relationship, which mostly consisted in fighting and hate fucking. Pure enemies to lovers here, except the enemies part never stopped. Finding out she's pregnant, she decides to fake her death and try start anew at Earth to give her child a normal life, away from the mess of the Lantern corps and the intergalactic wars. But deep down, the woman was never completely happy with being just a mother. She craved for the power of the ring, the freedom and thrill of flying around the cosmos, of the battle. So when Sinestro reached out again for her to join, she accepted, but he let her know she couldn't bring her daughter along. That's how Red Fury ended up at Hal's doorstep with a note claiming he was the father. Before leaving, Fury's mom made her promise she wouldn't tell anyone who her mother is, for her own good, so Hal assumes the child is the result of some drunk one-night stand he had. He tries to be a good dad, he really does, but he has no idea what to do or how to feel with a whole ass child he never planned for and now is his responsability, along with balancing his duties as green lantern and pilot. It's too much for him sometimes, so he mostly leaves her at his brother's place when he's out on lantern duties, but in reality he's also relieved to do so. So she grows up with an emotionally unavailable father that switches from trying to spend time with her to avoid her, seeing him be more affectionate with his niece than herself. The only person Fury feels that gives a damn about her is little Helen Jordan, her cousin. She learns to disguise her pain and resentment with anger, getting into trouble a lot and defying everyone to feel better, holding unto her anger like a lifesaver, because being angry is better than being scared or sad. Anger makes her strong, makes her forget. She doesn't trust people as a norm, thinking everyone is going to just dissapoint her as well. However, she couldn't have imagined her anger would literally become her source of strenght, when it ends up attracting a certain red ring to her fingers, stained in other's blood...
Punisher is Diana's stepson, but she's been in his life since he was an infant, so he's always referred to her as Mum. His other mum, Diana's partner, is an Egyptian archeologist and a treasure hunter in her free time, but she put that slightly illegal hobby away when she got with Diana. They three of them travel a lot, so he doesn't have real friends and he doesn't know long-term relationships outside his family. He avoids getting attached to people due to this. He's heavily influenced by Diana's firm sense of justice and disappointed at the system, who lets too many people get away with their crimes and, in his opinion, profit of the victims' suffering. He wants to create a world ruled by pure, ruthless justice that doesn't forgive anyone. His vision is very "black and white". Things are right or they aren't. There's no middle ground. And he believes punishments are a form of justice as much as mercy can be. Its the reason he wants to study Law, to become a judge and actually make people pay for what they do. He looks down on those who have power and do nothing to create change, to make things better. Sees them as cowards and unworthy of compassion. He has numerous conflicts when he's first working with the team because he's forced to face a deeper perspective and rethink what he stands up for. He's also the first male to reside and be trained in Themyscira, where his presence is only tolerated because of Diana. He had to bleed as a child just to prove to the Amazons that he was worthy of basic respect. On the other hand, his experience in Themysicira and with Amazon culture in general has shaped him to be a low-key men hater, despising his own sex as a norm. The good thing is that he's also the perfect gentleman, because he refuses to be like those men who disgust him and are the reason Amazons do what they do. Both his mothers are proud of him and his family is easily the most functional out of the group, but he still feels lonely often because of their jobs and a deep, growing resentment for the world for being the way it is, eager to change it but also to take out on this same resentment on those who get away with their actions. He thinks society has gotten soft on bad people, including the JL, which is what makes him an easy target for a certain organization to groom him into the perfect warrior, who use his morals against him...
Nerion was born from an old romance between Arthur and a human woman he knew since childhood. They met again as adults after he dissapeared for years and came back as Aquaman, and one thing leading to another..well, it happened. They were happy for a while but he had to return to the Sea and she belonged to the land, so they eventually broke things off. She had no idea she was pregnant until he left, but couldn't tell him anyway. Arthur found out when he went back to Amnesty Bay and saw her with a little boy in her arms. Despite being already with Mera, he still cared for Nerion's mother, and offered them protection back at Atlantis, which she refused because she knew neither of them would fit in that kingdon. She being human, and Nerion being too different. Arthur still made a point to check on them every now and then, sending them gifts and making sure his son was safe. Nerion's mother is also a native Mohawk woman, so Nerion's birth name is a mix of mohawk and atlantean's dialect. He was raised with the mohawk language and their culture by his mum, as a way to keep her family's tradition alive. She encouraged him to choose his own path, but never forget his roots. Due to him being only a quarter Atlantean, he's weaker than his half-siblings, but still has the same basic abilities, like breathing under water and controlling it. He showed signs of his connection to the sea from an early age, which worried his mother a lot, afraid that he would leave her for the sea one day and never come back, like Arthur did. Nerion's relationship with him is weird. He knows his dad cares in his own way, but never sees him and he's also the cause of his mum's heartbreak, while simultanously looking after them from afar. He doesn't know how to feel about him. Sometimes he's angry, others sad. It depends of the day. The first time he travelled out of Amnesty Bay, he came across an excentric but friendly boy with magic on his veins, and they inmediately became friends after accidentally causing an accident with their combined powers. Not knowing they were closely observed by someone...
Kaos is Giovanni Zatara's son from his second marriage and Zatanna's younger brother. From an early age, his father introduced him to the mystic arts and magic, but the boy was sickly and, for some reason, magic seemed to hurt him. Due to his poor health, he was mostly in his room while his mum and sister took care of him. His inability to properly learn magic led Giovanni to neglect him and focus more on Zatanna, who was a prodigy. Kaos' situation with magic wasn't only that he couldn't use it, but that it only made him worse. There were times when Zatanna was practising that just being near of her spells hurt him. Growing up, he felt like something was constantly crawling inside his ribs, trying to rip him open and get out. Whenever the pain of magic came, this crawling felt more intense. It pulses inside him when he's near certain parts of the house. There's also the fact that when his emotions run high, sometimes windows are shattered and furniture broken around him. He gets told its because of the remnants of magic his family leaves behind that respond to emotions, that it has nothing to do with him personally. But for some reason, it's usually after those incidents when he falls sick and isn't allowed to get out of bed. He was constantly bedridden and had little to no friends because he was homeschooled a lot, practically isolated. Still, he was treasured by both his mother and Zatanna, who saw him as her precious baby brother made of glass that had to be shielded from the world. He was overprotected and neglected at the same time. Torn between wanting attention and desesperately wishing to be free of it. He grows up feeling lonely and frustrated with his own body for being wrong, because he can feel something wrong. It's only years later, with secret research on his own and reaching out to certain people, that he finds out the truth. About why he can't fit with his dad and sister, why he can't do magic the way they do and why he's in pain a lot at convenient times: He's a wizard of chaos, like Klarion. And someone put a block on his powers "to protect him". Now, he's just determined to prove not all wizards of chaos are inherently bad (and maybe prove to himself that he can be as good as his family if not better)
Aracne's backstory I already explained her here, but in this au it will be slightly adapted.

So Jon went into space when he was 11 and came back 6 years later, when he was 17, yes?
And then he hung out with the Legion for a bit, but since Bendis is the king of decompression, it doesn't seem like he was there for more than maybe a few days before the book was canceled.
And then in Superman: Son of Kal-El, he decided to enroll in college. Which made me raise an eyebrow, because he's only 17, but fine, some people start a year early. Or maybe he had a birthday somewhere in there. But more importantly, he never finished high school. So...what's the plan there, Jonno?
Anyway, Jon literally doesn't even make it into the administration before he blows his (temporary) secret identity and has to leave. And since that comic, which was published nearly four years ago, Jon has not attempted to go back to college. Or finish high school. Or get a job. All of which are valid choices, but like...what does he do all day?
Also, where does he live? Because Clark and Lois adopted two kids and I doubt their apartment had three or more bedrooms. Did they move? Did Bruce buy them a penthouse? Is Jon sleeping on the couch?
Meanwhile, Jay - who last we saw is a college undergrad, probably a freshman - shows up as the head of communications for Steelworks. Which...no! Not only is he hilariously, insanely unqualified for that job, but from everything we know about radical leftist anarchist Jay Nakamura, the last thing he would ever want to do is become the mouthpiece for a corporation!!!
And then Jon decides he wants to move to San Francisco.* Um...with what money, baby? You don't have a job. Are you going to live on your boyfriend's VP salary? How is he supposed to finish his second semester of college from the other side of the country?
And this week Jay declared that they are "twentysomethings." NO! NO YOU ARE NOT!!! YOU ARE NINETEEN AT MOST!!!!!**
Anyway this is mostly a petty rant, but here's the reason it matters. Even though I would love to know how Jon spends his time and where he sleeps, it's not all that important for me as a reader to know. The issue is that I'm very certain that DC doesn't know. I'm sure if you asked all the writers and editors who have worked on Jon in the past five years, they'd have different answers.
And that matters, because how a character chooses to spend their time when they aren't punching Doomsday tells us something about them. Clark Kent being a reporter tells us what he values. Same with Barry Allen being a forensic scientist, or Hal Jordan being a test pilot. Even Bruce Wayne having a civilian life that is mostly for show.
If Jon is [insert vague age here] and lives [somewhere] and puts his energy into [file not found], he isn't a character. He's a cardboard cutout with the words "Good Representation" written on it. (Which, on that note, I feel like if you asked those same writers and editors to describe Jon, they'd say "He's Superman's son and he's bi" and...that's it.***)
Anyway. If you're wondering why Jon seems so much less vibrant now than he did when he was ten, it's worth noting that when he was ten, we knew where he lived and who his friends were and how he felt about his pets and his parents and his cultural heritage. And now we don't even know how old he is.
*Well, actually, I'm not convinced that Jon does want to move to San Francisco, but he's convinced himself that he does, which is pretty much the only interesting thing they've done with him in half a decade.
**Do not tell me that time passed and they've been dating for years, because a) that has not been demonstrated in the comics in the slightest, and b) Damian is still 14. So unless Jon and Jay went back to that volcano, they've known each other for maybe six months.
***Possibly excepting Nicole Maines, who seems to be doing something interestingly messy (see above re: San Francisco), and Sina Grace, whose issue of Shazam! this week was the first time in five years a writer has acknowledged that Jon probably has trauma. But I'm still mad at him over "twentysomethings."

Hello Barry Allen: Arrow 2x08 Review (The Scientist)
It is bittersweet to remember how much I loved Barry Allen, before The Flash made me hate him with the fiery intensity of a thousand suns, but that’s a topic for another time. Let’s just enjoy this precious golden retriever who comes to Starling City to be the third point in an Olicity love triangle.
Tumblr media
And y’all – I love me a good love triangle. Let’s dig in…
Olicity and Barry Allen
Full disclosure I did not know Barry Allen was The Flash when Grant Gustin guest starred on Arrow. I missed every foreshadowing moment of the forthcoming spinoff because I barely knew who The Flash was and really didn’t care.
The husband, of course, filled me in and oddly enough it didn’t tick off in my brain that they were pairing FELICITY SMOAK with one of the most famous comic book characters – a character even more popular than the Green Arrow. This is not something you do if the female character is simply comic relief. (No, I am never letting that Katie Cassidy comment go. Should I move on? Yes. Will I? No.) Season 2 Jen wasn’t that smart y’all. Bottom line, if Season 2 is a chess game, then Felicity Smoak’s pawn will become a queen.
There is a break in a Queen Consolidated warehouse and this is where Oliver, Diggle, Captain Lance and Felicity first meet Barry Allen.
Lance: Who the hell are you?
Tumblr media
This is one of Oliver’s all-time best comedic lines. Stephen Amell is bringing humor to Oliver’s blinding jealously, which is a lot of fun. It also offsets Oliver’s egomaniacal hypocrisy and makes him far more tolerable. Good choice, Mr. Amell!
Barry: I’m Barry Allen. I’m from the Central City Police Department. I’m with the Crime Scene Investigation unit. We’re working on a case with some similar unexplained elements to Central City. So, when the report of your robbery came over the wire, my captain sent me up here.
I bought his story. Oliver does not.
Barry is convinced it’s one guy who broke down a door of reinforced titanium and the security footage seems to support his theory. Also, the bruising pattern on the dead guard’s neck suggests someone used one hand to break it.
Barry: I’m guessing you don’t know how hard it is to break someone’s nec.
Oliver: Hmm? No. No idea.
Barry also figures out what was stolen – an industrial centrifuge (it separates liquid), which is a very big and heavy machine the thief ripped out of the ground.  Felicity offers some explanations, and Barry adds his two cents and soon these two adorable nerds are sparking off all the science.
Felicity: What did you say your name was?
Barry: Barry. Allen.
Felicity: Felicity. Smoak.
Tumblr media
Source: @buffysummers
Barry looks at Felicity for about 1.2 seconds too long and Oliver gives him THE LOOK. Let’s keep those eyes on the centrifuge, Mr. Allen. I’m cackling. Jealous Oliver is one of the best Olivers.
The thing is Barry’s theories are based on evidence and Oliver is taking them very seriously because he knows exactly what can produce that kind of strength in one man.
Both Diggle and Felicity find additional evidence (and video footage!) that proves Barry Allen is dead on. The pup has some smarts! He arrives at Queen Consolidated at Felicity’s invitation. I just love that this young buck is popping up on Oliver’s turf and annoying the crap out of him.
Tumblr media
Source: @oliver-and-felicity
Barry makes Felicity laugh and Oliver finds this puzzling. Felicity enjoys laughter and not a simmering pile of brooding man pain??!!
Tumblr media
Felicity is socializing with another male. This cannot be born. Oliver gently pulls Felicity toward him, and more precisely away from Barry Allen, to ask a very important question.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source: @kurtweller
The way Stephen’s voice rises to a full soprano is flat out hilarious. I accept no other interpretations.
Felicity accurately points out that forensic science is not really her thing, and she could genuinely use Barry’s help to figure out this latest mystery. Oliver agrees, and boy he is not happy about it, but all he can do is make sad puppy eyes as Felicity flounces off with her new “friend.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Felicity and Barry gather evidence, and this is the first time Emily Bett Rickards has an equal sparring partner to banter with. The reason Barry and Felicity click so much is because they are basically the same person.  That said, inviting Barry into the home office is putting him precariously close to Oliver and team’s nighttime activities and, just like Felicity, Barry is no dummy. He’s done his research on The Vigilante, and it is safe to say that Barry Allen is a fanboy.
Tumblr media
Source: @lyricalarrow
Barry: Green. That’s interesting, right? I mean, why green? Black would be better for stealth and urban camouflage, but personally I think that he trained in some sort of forest or jungle environment and the green is a nod to that.
I love Grant’s reading of this line because no detail is too small for Barry – he’s fascinated by Felicity’s attempt at monosyllabic. But more worrisome for Felicity is Barry, once again, is dead on.
Felicity: I don’t give the vigilante much thought.
Oh girl. You are so bad at lying.
Tumblr media
Barry: Police reports show that he uses carbon arrows, but if he switched to an aluminum carbon composite, he would have far better penetration.
Tumblr media
Source: @eddiethawne
This inadvertent sexual innuendo is almost as bad as “It feels really good having you inside me.”
Barry is also convinced that the vigilante has partners. Ok, so let’s just give the kid a job and call it a day. I do like that the writers acknowledge all the obvious things the police should figure out about the vigilante through Barry Allen’s obsessive fanboy investigation. In this way, I feel a kinship to him.
Felicity is curious as to why Barry is so curious, which gives us his character’s back story. His mother was murdered. They never caught the guy who did it and maybe the vigilante would. Barry Allen is looking for a hero. (SAD PANDA)
Barry and Felicity found the truck that stole the centrifuge, and it was just used to rob a blood bank. Oliver pressures Barry for more information about his “similar case” in Central City, but Barry is equally as bad of a liar as Felicity. Actually, he’s worse. Oliver is done with the close proximity to Felicity and the lies.
Oliver: I want you to look into this Allen kid. There’s more to him than he’s letting on.
Diggle: His intentions seem pretty clear to me.
This is why I love Diggle, and he will forever be the number one Olicity shipper. He will nudge Oliver about Felicity when necessary. This teasing remark is also a direct message to Oliver, without flatly calling him out. Barry is being clear about his feelings for Felicity and Oliver is not. Diggle lets Oliver know he has some competition and it’s time to get in the game. But Oliver, no matter how much he knows Diggle is right, is nowhere near ready to do that. Hence, his absolute dejection.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source: @oliver-and-felicity
This is why Barry Allen is so necessary. It’s been quite a run of Olicity episodes thus far. First, we have the Russia debacle, with Oliver sleeping with Isabel and Felicity was hurt and jealous. Oliver also takes the opportunity to tell Felicity that even though he feels something for her he will never be with her. It’s a pretty definitive slamming of the door on any potential relationship between these two, except these feelings keep brimming to the surface.
Oliver heroically saves Felicity from the Count like a scene straight out of a romance novel. Nothing bonds two people like shared trauma. Oliver also tells Felicity that he will always choose her because nothing is more important to him. I mean honestly this man set the swoon standards.
But these are also some very frustrating episodes – for both Felicity and the viewers. He clearly has feelings for her, will die for her, will kill for her, betray his code for her, but refuses to be with her. So… where the hell does that put them? Oliver and Felicity are in a very murky gray zone.
Oliver knows Felicity wants to be with him. Even if she was trying to hide it (like she is in this episode).

The pain of the Russia debacle made Felicity’s feelings clear.  Even Oliver isn’t that stupid, which is what prompted the “I have feelings for you, but I’m going to let you down easy because I’m a selfless hero who is also the dumbest of pine trees to ever exist.” Of course, Oliver likes all Felicity’s attention and concern (because he’s in love with her even if he won’t freaking admit it). Whether they want to admit it or not, there is a serious power imbalance between the two of them. Oliver is calling all the shots.
But it's Felicity's life too. Felicity is asserting her independence with Barry. She is taking Oliver at his word. Ok, you don’t want to be with me? Fine. I will move on. Felicity isn’t trying to make Oliver jealous. In fact, I don’t think she notices he’s jealous at all. I think there’s a large part of her still feels, despite all the moments she’s shared with Oliver and the things he’s said, that he will never feel for her what she feels for him.
Felicity’s feelings for Barry are genuine, which is why it’s driving Oliver crazy. He’s been able to enjoy all the emotional benefits of a relationship with Felicity, without actually being with her. Barry Allen a big bucket of cold water on all the warm fuzzy feelings.  He’s also a flashing red warning sign. Oliver needs to understand there is a shelf life to all this “I must suffer because I am undeserving of love.” His trauma will cost him Felicity.  She will not wait forever for him.
And there was some part of Oliver, deep down, that thought Felicity would wait forever for him. This is where the egotistical hypocrisy comes in. It’s okay for Oliver to have girlfriends and sleep with whoever he wants when he wants, but Felicity so much as looks at another man, and Oliver is ready to break his neck with his bare hands.
Tumblr media
Felicity is a hot ticket. Some guy will absolutely cut in front of you to be with her. This is so Dawson Leary. Yuck. Take it away Pacey Witter.
Pacey: Look at that girl, Dawson. Just take a good look. She's a freaking goddess, man. How long did you think it was gonna be before some guy comes along and is interested in her? I mean, really, dude! And when that happens, what are you gonna do?
Dawson: I'm just gonna take it all as it comes.
Pacey: You're gonna take it as it comes. Oh great, well perhaps you should start figuring out right now because the guy that comes along is not gonna be your best friend and he's not gonna ask for your permission. The guy that comes along is gonna take one look at that woman and just cut right in on ya.
So, am I that bothered that Oliver gets the crap beaten out of him a couple times? Nah. Not really. He had it coming. Maybe the Mirakuru soldier can knock some sense into his concrete head.
Tumblr media

This was so overly dramatic. Oliver is an enormous man child with muscles. He’s not upset Felicity was a little rough with the medical tape. Didn’t this man use to suture his own bullet wounds, but he can’t handle Felicity’s soft womanly hands against a little scrape? Boy, please. He can’t yell at her about Barry, so he yells about her nursing skills.
Tumblr media
Oliver decides to come clean with what he knows about the super strength thief. He tells Felicity and Diggle about the serum on Lian Yu designed to create human weapons. Oliver assures them that Ivo and anyone injected with the serum are dead (spoiler alert Oliver, jeez) and he burned the last of it on the island.
Oliver asks Felicity to analyze the blood on the bent arrowhead.
Felicity: Barry and I will get right on it.
Diggle: I think our Miss Smoak is smitten.
Both statements cause Oliver physical pain. The man can barely breathe. Alright, I’m starting to feel a little sorry for him.
Diggle confirms that Oliver’s suspicions are right about Barry. He’s not being honest about who he is. A very pissy Oliver comes in hot, pumped up on jealousy, testosterone filled overprotection and raging hypocrisy, to confront Barry for lying about who he is – in front of Felicity. Naturally.
Barry immediately confesses the real reason he’s in Starling City. His father is in prison for his mother’s murder. Barry knows his father is innocent because he witnessed the crime. A blur with a person inside killed Barry Allen’s mother. Nobody believes him because that’s crazy. So, he seeks out the crazy cases like a super strength thief in the hopes it will lead to his mother’s real killer and freeing his father. He’s so damn earnest and hopeful, it’s like watching Oliver beat the crap out of a fluffy bunny. This is not a good look when trying to show your not-wife what a douchebag her new boyfriend is. Barry leaves town, which also costs Felicity her date to Moira’s welcome home party Oliver randomly decided to throw.
Instead of immediately apologizing to both Barry and Felicity, Oliver doubles down and defends what he did. Apologizing is not really his forte, so this is not unexpected.
Tumblr media

I love my unproblematic queen who can acknowledge the mountain of hypocrisy Oliver is standing on. YEAH, BIG GUY. YOU LIE ABOUT YOUR IDENTITY EVERY DAY AND USED TO KILL PEOPLE ON THE REGULAR. TAKE SEVERAL SEATS.
The party for Moira is a disaster. Shockingly nobody shows up to celebrate the freedom of the woman who helped kill hundreds of people in Glades. What a shocker. I love you Oliver, but you are so out of touch sometimes with normal people. Also, the elitist rich of Starling City don’t want to be tainted by associating with the Queen family.
Oliver has thought about his actions and acknowledges he overreacted about Barry.
Tumblr media
Source: @dianaclairmonts
I love that she doesn’t let him off the hook right away. Felicity is mad and she has every right to be. Barry shouldn’t have lied. I agree with Oliver on this one small point. But both he and Felicity know it wasn’t all nobility, like he’s some standard bearer for the truth, that made Oliver confront Barry like he did. Oliver was trying to obliterate any potential “something” growing between Felicity and Barry – and they both know it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source: @o-rigamii
My kingdom for these two to dance. Let us not speak of how long we had to wait for it to happen. YEARS, people. YEARS.
Oliver: I know. That’s why I called him. They will card him at the bar.
Awww. He called Barry. Oliver is trying to make it right. I’m even going to allow the snark because it was hilarious. Did you notice Oliver immediately racing to the bar and downing a shot with Isabel to avoid watching Felicity dance with this kid? I did.
Oliver’s acknowledges he has no right to interfere in any relationship Felicity wants with Barry, primarily because he refuses to give her one with him. Oliver is trying to be the better man, to stand back and allow Felicity the happiness he feels he cannot give her. But all I want is for Oliver to cut in. Diggle is right. He needs to get in the game!
Whatever may be happening with Barry – it’s going to be long distance because he needs to go back to Central City, or he’ll be fired. He leaves without kissing Felicity. They are both wistfully hesitant. Interesting.
Is it too soon for a kiss? Yes, especially in the land of television. I like Barry, but I don’t actually want Felicity to end up with him. He’s the third point in the love triangle and that’s all. He’s a mechanism to get Oliver’s ass in gear. I don’t need to see them make out. Also, Barry Allen has always been a little asexual to me.
For Felicity, it’s one thing to say you’re moving on. It is another thing to actually do it. Maybe it’s not so easy for Miss Smoak to put Oliver behind her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source: @oliverqueenz
Barry and Felicity determine the sedative in the thief’s blood is Ketamine. (Isn’t that shit for horses?) The only place that has enough for the centrifuge is an ARGUS disaster bunker. It’s time for Oliver to suit up, but Felicity is not sure he should go.  The simple fact is the thief’s muscle mass is the same as concrete. Oliver is going to be punching a literal brick wall.
Tumblr media
Source: @oliverqueenz
Oliver is a little taken aback. It’s not like Felicity not to believe in him. But this is not lack of belief, it’s a legitimate concern when faced with a scientific reality. Sure, Malcolm Merlyn was bad, but he wasn’t made out of concreate. You can push those romantic feelings as far down as possible, but they will always rise to the surface when the person you love is about to face mortal danger.
Like it or not, Oliver Queen is the Arrow. It is his responsibility to stop guys like this, so he faces off with the super soldier – and gets his ass handed to him on a platter. This guy bounces Oliver around like a ping pong ball. Oliver was also injected with an unknown substance during the fight.
Tumblr media
Source: @mrsmaudlin
Diggle and Felicity find him unconscious, but don’t know how to save him because they don’t know what substance he’s poisoned with. Diggle is ready to call 911 and blow the whole vigilante cover to smithereens, but Felicity has another idea. One that can save Oliver and protect his identity – if this person will keep his secret.
Tumblr media
Source: @bifelicitys
One second Barry Allen is waiting at the train station and the next he’s waking up in the Arrow cave, with Felicity begging him to save Oliver.
Tumblr media
And Oliver is not going to be happy with this turn of events.
Slade and Shado
Slade is in serious trouble. He’s burned half to hell and fading fast. So, is it a little odd that Shado chooses NOW to question Oliver about his romantic life? Yes, but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.
Shado: How do you know that girl?
The girl in question is Sara. ISN’T THAT SUCH AN INTERESTING QUESTION OLIVER? Yes, please do explain to Shado how you know Sara.
Oliver: Sara was on my father’s boat… with me.
Shado: What about the girl in the picture? Laurel. The girl you told me you were in love with.
Oliver: Sara is her sister.
Shado is disgusted, which is the natural and appropriate reaction to anyone finding out about Oliver cheating on Laurel with her sister. This is a canon event, Shado. We can’t interfere. You must realize for yourself why it is impossible to ship Oliver with either Laurel or Sara. I bet Slade isn’t looking so bad right now.
Sara: I guess a lot happened in the last year.
Shado finding out about Sara. Sara is finding out about Shado. Oh, what a tangled web Ollie weaved. Honestly, he was just so slutty.
Just imagine you are Sara. I’m choosing Sara since she’s known Oliver longer, but Shado has every right to be angry too. But imagine you are Sara, and you betrayed your only sister for a guy who hooked up with someone else after you’ve been barely “dead” a year. We know Oliver didn’t forget about Sara, but that’s exactly what it feels like. Such a mess. I can’t imagine Sara loving the choices she made right now.
Did you notice Shado said, “The girl you WERE [Laurel] in love with.” That’s past tense my friends and Oliver doesn’t correct her. Now, Shado might believe Oliver is in love with her (although neither has said these words in a year). Oliver might not want to correct Shado in front of Sara. There could be lots of reasons. It’s difficult to juggle three love interests at the same time. But I don’t think this past tense reference is a small thing.
Team Flashback is on the run and looking for a way to save Slade. Eventually they find the serum and must decide if Slade should take it. They don’t have all the necessary ingredients for a successful super soldier, however.
Oliver: What happens if we give it to Slade without the sedative?
Sara: He’ll die for sure.
Shado: He’s going to die anyway.
That was dark Shado. Dark but true. Ultimately, it’s Slade’s call and he tells Oliver to inject him with the serum. But before he does, Slade uses his last moments to apologize to Shado.
Slade: I’m sorry. For not telling you how I really feel.
Then he touches her hair. SOB. I know some people think this storyline with Slade and Shado came out of nowhere, but I don’t agree. They built this relationship since Season 1, and it makes absolute sense that Slade fell in love with Shado. And it makes absolutely sense why he hid his feelings for so long.
Oliver is SHOCKED by Slade’s confession. At least he is consistently clueless about love in all timelines. What I love more than anything else is Shado doesn’t give two shits about Oliver’s reaction. Her focus is on Slade and only Slade. See? She’s making better choices too.
Slade’s reaction to the serum is violent, complete with bleeding eyes, and then he dies which was slightly anticlimactic to be honest. Oliver and Shado have barely begun to mourn him when Ivo shows up and kidnaps all three. This guy is like a bad case of herpes. He just won’t go away.
Moira and Malcolm
Malcolm is back and he wants Moira to tell Thea who her biological father is.
Moira: You killed Tommy. You killed your son. You cannot have my daughter.
Murdering your child should disqualify you from ever parenting again – I feel like that should be a law. We need to ask why Malcolm cares about Thea now when he never did before? Well, he’s a sociopath so there’s that. Malcolm is all about his “legacy” and now that Tommy is gone – Thea is it. Not that he was ever happy with Tommy in the legacy department, but Thea isn’t replacement Tommy. You don’t swap one child for the other. Doesn’t work that way.
But this isn’t the Moira of Season 1. She’s done fearing Malcolm. When his villain monologue reveals he trained in Nanda Parbat, Moira makes a couple calls. She notifies Rha’s Al Ghul that Malcolm is in Starling City.  Since he’s alive, this allows Rha’s AL Ghul the pleasure of killing Malcolm for the Undertaking betraying their code.  Is this the first Rha’s Al Ghul mention? The Batman fan in me is geeking out.
Moira: So, my advice to you, Malcolm… run.
I am here for bad ass Moira not taking any more shit. She still doesn’t tell Thea about Malcolm and quite frankly I’m fine with it. I don’t want Thea to know.  Can the Queen family just be happy for five minutes?
Stray Thoughts
Tumblr media
If you are wondering where the pink in my blog comes from – it’s this dress. I think the only dress I love more than this one is the 3x01 red dress.
Oliver and Felicity looked so good this episode. Oliver in suspenders is a lot. I am amazed at their self control.
Felicity: Is it ok to laugh because I was ordered to say anything about you being in prison just to avoid any awkward exchanges.
Oliver: Like that one.
I would die for her.
“Why couldn’t you be marooned in Aruba?” Felicity is so real for this. I’ve been to Aruba. I would love to be marooned there.
“Oliver is a good son, if not the best judge of character.” SHOTS FIRED!! Moira vs Isabel is the Bitch Off I’ve been waiting for.
Put the purse down, Felicity. You aren’t going to get ripped off while dancing with Barry at the Queen mansion.
Sara learned all the science last year. I guess she didn’t have cable tv, so I’ve chosen to find this believable.
Roy is getting a little too close to this Max/super soldier thing and Oliver wants him to back off for his safety– especially since Thea is involved. When Roy refuses, because he’s Roy, the Arrow shoots him. I love Oliver’s Season 2 problem solving skills.

(@ftl-faster-than-life HI THIS TOOK A HOT MINUTE WEH Also thanks Tumblr for eating my asks again smh) oH BOY, WHERE DO I START Oh Barry, Barry, Barry, my sweet babygirl, how you've been so incredibly villainized by this fandom I'm going to take this opportunity to address and debunk as many misconceptions about Barry's character that I can remember, in the case if someone who doesn't really know Barry all that well is reading this or to hopefully change some people's minds~
* "Barry is boring": Well, yes but actually no. That's the beauty of Barry--he is designed to be your average, unassuming everyday kind of guy. Problem is, a lot of people think that's all there is to him, but that's really only just the surface.
He has flaws. He's prone to making decisions without consulting his family if he thinks it's for the greater good. You need to explicitly tell this man if you wanna be his lover because he absolutely can NOT read romantic cues to save his own life, he's a guilt sponge, he's weird, he LOVES science and comics and is a huge nerd!! He gets jealous!
Guys-Guys?? He's aN ELDRITCH HORROR??? HELLO????? He is CONSTANTLY living in sheer and utter denial and is desperately grasping his extremely thin veneer of being human, and yet, because of this, he actually puts his family in more jeopardy. Do you even realize how fascinating that is
Barry is a character who also deeply craves companionship/people. He struggles with depression and suicidal tendencies ever since being resurrected. He tries so hard to be what everyone else wants him to be and meet their expectations while failing to take care of himself in the process. He's so much more complex than just "Wally's nice father figure who died in Crisis". People also tend to equate "boring" with "being good/kind" which, you know...I very much disagree with but that's just my opinion * "Barry is racist!" LOL This one is just so wildly incorrect. The origin of this misconception comes from an out-of-context panel Justice League of America #173) of Barry being angry about Black Lightning joining the JL. If you read the whole page the panel comes from, you'd see that in actuality Barry is NOT angry about a black man joining the League but rather, he's angry that that seems to be the only reason Oliver wants him and Barry is (rightfully) calling Oliver out on that. There has been no other time where Barry has a problem with people of color
* "Barry is a Republican" I don't even know where this fanon came from. I think this may have originated from Wally's run where Wally was a conservative and he just assumed?? Barry was the same??? Which is SO laughably wrong (Wally bby, stop projecting on your uncle challenge) For the major part of Barry's original run (and honestly, the majority of the Flash runs after that), he remained largely apolitical . People see a white guy from the 60s and automatically assume he's right leaning /shrug * "Barry's a cop!" Yeahhh, not quite actually. He's a CSI, a forensic scientist, not a blue collar badge sporting cop. He's the behind-the-scenes guy, the one who studies the crime scene and tries to piece together the evidence and bring the culprit to justice. There IS a difference. But people don't really care about the technicalities, tho, they just want to hate Barry and him being "basically" a cop is a fast and easy excuse to do so. And DC certainly isn't helping matters with them constantly pushing the cop agenda for him (thanks a lot DC) * "Barry is sexually-repressed": This is a headcanon I seen a fair amount of and--okay, I get it. Barry is shy and reserved and blushes up a mad storm when someone compliments him. I can see how that might lead people to interpret that as him being sexually repressed/being a prude. But like....Buddy. Homie. Amigo.
This man had more canon sex than Hal Jordan. He and Iris were getting it on FREQUENTLY in the Silver Age and that's not me exaggerating. Just look at Flash #197 where it was Barry's birthday and he and Iris made out and stayed in bed practically the whole day together. Maybe you could say they just did that in the morning and they did other things later buuuut I don't believe that for a minute lol. Or! In Flash #195 where Barry was late to a ceremony of a submarine departure because (you guessed it!) he was too busy exploring his wife's mouth. Just because Barry doesn't make sexually-charged remarks or cop a feel from Iris constantly doesn't mean he's opposed to sex. I see it more as him just being way more private and reserved about it, but he IS very much down to fuck as she is (or Hal! Whichever your ship may be~)
While we're kinda on the subject, I'm really not a fan of the whole Barry being "shojo-fied/uwu-fied" thing, if I'm being honest?? Like, yes, if you give him any kind of compliment, he will blush furiously and stutter. But that's different from him being totally ignorant on what sex is/being a weak, delicate little flower who needs a "Big, Strong man" like Hal to save him (also, like...can we stop treating Barry as the "girl" of the ship just because he's skinnier and smaller than Hal pls and thank you). He is an mid-20-30 year old adult man. And a forensic scientist who probably seen a lot of sex-related crimes in his line of work. I'm pretty sure he knows what sex is, guys (in fact, he would be the guy who actually hosts Sex Ed classes bc the misinformation out there is staggering lol)
"Barry is weak/one of the weaker superheroes": Ok, I've never seen anyone say this persay, but it is very evident in how people portray him a lot of the time. They see his smaller frame and the fact that he runs fast to mean he's a glass cannon (Honestly they do this to a lot of the other speedsters as well) which hi! Wrong again! Speedsters are actually INSANELY durable little dudes. He could tank a punch from Darkseid. He can drag MASSIVE SHIPS behind him!! Wally once punched Eobard with the equivalent force of a dwarf star. Yeah. Now I get whump, I personally love it, I do, but I also enjoy seeing Barry being the absolute powerhouse he is. He can vibrate through solid matter, he can manipulate frequencies, and he's incredibly smart with how to use his powers, always thinking up on the spot improv strategies and techniques! Please stop nerfing him, guys, speedsters get too much of that from the writers OTL * "He's conservative because of his buzzcut!" Ok this one actually had like, a whole article?? On it?? And it truly is so wild lmao. When the only thing people can find to hate a character on is his haircut, you know they have no basis for their argument lol * "Barry is abusive!" Nope. Not even close. People love to pull this as a "gotcha" to Barry fans, regarding the panels of "Barry" beating up Wally and verbally abusing him (The Return of Barry Allen). Except....that wasn't Barry, that was Eobard disguised as him. You know...if you read the full run, you would know that lol You literally couldn't find a more least abusive person than Barry lol. Which actually leads me into the next one... * "Barry was an example of toxic masculinity!" AH yes, of course, with how he's so openly kind and compassionate, how he loves kids and animals, how he openly cries and shows emotion, how he's super respectful of people regardless, how he chugs Respect Women juice all day everyday, how he's contributing to fundraisers to help impoverished people and further medical progress, how he's so concerned about the state of the environment and is firmly against consumption of fossil fuels, how he constantly tells his son nephew he's so proud of him and that he's his hero, how he runs home after work bc he's genuinely so excited to see his wife, how he loves her SO much and smothers her with kisses every chance he gets UGH. How does Iris stand him /s And since we're talking about Barry and how the fandom treats him, I can't not talk about the elephant in the room--Flashpoint To start off, lemme preface this real quick:
FLASHPOINT WAS NOT BARRY'S FAULT
He DID NOT intend to trade the lives of his family for his mom He DID NOT run back in time because he was jealous of Wally (uhh lmao what???? Yeah, I can't even begin to explain how wack that is) He DID NOT run back in time because he was "selfish" and "wanted his mommy back" (unfriendly reminder that Nora is a separate character and shouldn't be treated as just an appendage of a male character <333) Some actual context for non-comic readers: Eobard killing his mom is actually an aberration of the true timeline. It was PERFECTLY REASONABLE to assume that it would restore itself to its original version!! Barry had also traveled in time before in the comics without any repercussions or ill effects, so there was NO CONCEIVABLE REASON FOR HIM TO THINK ANYTHING OF THE SCALE OF FLASHPOINT WOULD EVEN HAPPEN If people had read the issues preceding Flashpoint, they'd see Barry did all of that for Nora!! Because he despised the fact that she had to pay with her life because of a villain of his!! That it wasn't right for her to die for his sake!!
Tumblr media
"But Eobard said Flashpoint was Barry's fault-!" EOBARD is A BITCH ASS LIAR who purposely twists the truth to hurt Barry as much as he can!! Of COURSE he would say that!! What ACTUALLY happened is that Eobard is the one who somehow made Nora's death such a critical and important fixture in time to the point of just tempering with that can cause a catastrophic domino effect. Flashpoint is EOBARD'S FAULT and HIS ALONE (and Idk, Doctor Manhattan's too ig if you wanna include him)
Barry loves his family and cares so, so, SO EXTREMELY MUCH. He could literally not be any prouder of Wally if he actually tried!! Everything he does is for his family, even sacrificing his own mental health and happiness for them and it makes me SO sad to see everyone cling to this butchered version of him in their minds (though it's not entirely their fault, DC is also definitely to blame)

"What are you, a cop?" and "Now you see me now you don't" both sound interesting
For "What are you, a cop?"
Billy is deaged (actually deaged. He goes from 15 to 10 or something and doesnt remeber the league) during a mission. He suddenly woke up in the middle of a battle so he's freaked out. the Justice League take down the threat then try to calm the boy down, explaining that theyre heros and here to help.
Billy takes a moment to take that in... then bolts.
It takes a bit to catch the kid, he's surprisingly agile for his concerningly small size, but they manage to get him into the jet and hes pouting in the corner looking angrier than the league has ever seen him.
They try to ask questions. Are you okay? Are you hurt? Why are you so thin? Is there anyone we should call? But Billy stays silent and his glares stay intense until he finally speaks.
"I don't talk to pigs." he spits out, giving them the nastiest look as if his glare alone could poison and kill them.
They stare at him for a moment, processing that.
"We're not cops???" Clark says, unconvincingly. Hes never been more confused in his life and has definitely never been confused for a cop.
"Whats wrong with being a cop?" Barry, the forensic scientist, pouts.
They knew that Marvel had a bit of a weird relationship with cops but they didn't realize he hated them, and especially not with such a passion!
The league spends the whole jet ride back to the tower trying to convince Billy that not only are they not cops, but that cops shouldn't be something to be afraid of anyway.
Billy spends the whole trip explaining ACAB to them and that yes, they are in fact cops, and here's all the things that the police system has done wrong that the league have probably also done or been complicit in..
I just want to write Billy radicalizing the Justice League and the league helping to reform the police system.
---
For "Now you see me, now you dont"
In the original comics Billy can and will transform in front of anyone at anytime and they wont realize that it was a transformation. Why?because plot armor. They will just think that the boy ran away right as Captain Marvel appeared or something, and when Billy reappears they don't question it either.
In the fic, its a magic perk that came with the whole Champion of Magic package and its a perk he uses often and irresponsibly. He takes it to the extremes by transforming in front of large crowds (no one questions it), while being recorded (The camera shorts out and stops working completely), and even in front of villains (they curse when the captains escapes yet again, completely ignoring the little boy standing in the middle of their secret base)
The last one is how he figured out that even if he is very much Not supposed to be somewhere, he wont be questioned as long as the only people who see him there also saw Marvel transform in that area. If someone who didn't witness the transformation were to see him, they would realize he wasn't meant to be there and call him out which would cause the witnesses to notice it as well. Leaving the room and then returning would also snap them out of it and he would be questioned.
Its a pretty overpowered ability for a child to have access to and when your a street kid without any video games to play who gets chased out of public parks for being too 'dirty' and can't afford any toys, you have to get creative with your entertainment.
Billy wants to see just how far he can take this power, and decides to transform in front of as many people in one day as possible while on the most highly secure facility in earths orbit- the Watchtower.
Follow Billy as he stretches his powers to their limits by transforming in front of the Justice League while praying he doesn't get caught and see what pranks he's able to pull off in that time!
I really like both of these ideas and I definitely want to write them someday. I already have lots of ideas for ways Billy can abuse that particular power! For now I am focusing on a few other fics but these ones are somewhere in the queue.

✧✦ 𝐀𝐍 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎 𝐓𝐎 𝐌𝐘 (𝐓𝐇𝐄) 𝐅𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐇 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My name is Victoria Verona Valencia. I grew up in Gotham City. My parents, Arturo and Eva Valencia, were wealthy and a part of the elite society. They were also friends with the Wayne family. One night, when my parents and the Wayne family went out to watch the opera, they were held up by a mugger who shot my parents, and Thomas and Martha Wayne. Each of our parents died, making the two of us orphans.
Alfred got custody of Bruce and I since both sets of parents trusted him. Bruce was seven years older than me, so I was like his little sister. Years later, he became Batman and after some pleading, he agreed to train me. I became the Red Cardinal— Batman’s first sidekick when I was fourteen years old and he was twenty-one.
A year later, I met a boy named Richard “Dick” Grayson at Gotham Academy. Around that time, Bruce had adopted him and he became Robin, Batman’s second sidekick. We were best friends and even dated for a while.
When I graduated high school, I decided to retire as the Red Cardinal and to go to college. However, this time I would be in a different city. Starling City to be exact. Thankfully, I knew a couple people — Oliver queen, Tommy Merlyn, and Thea queen. More like the Queen family and Malcolm Merlyn (Tommy’s father), but I’d always been closer to Oliver, Tommy, and Thea than the others. Just like the Waynes and my family, the Queens and Merlyns were drowning in money.
Although I was closer in age to Thea, I hung out with Oliver and Tommy the most since they were adults like me, and Thea was still in the beginning of high school. I spent most of my college days hanging out with Oliver and Tommy. We’d go out to clubs, parties, etc. Spend nights getting drunk, hooking up with strangers, and having fun.
It somehow didn’t affect my grades, but it didn’t make Bruce (or Dick, my ex-boyfriend and friend) happy when they saw me on the cover of a tabloid magazine holding a bottle of tequila in one hand while a random guy was holding onto my waist.
After Bruce had scolded me over the phone, I stopped going out as much (although I went out now and then) and began studying more. I had always had a high IQ, so I just felt like studying was a waste of my time and energy. But after hearing Bruce sound so disappointed in me, I decided that I would change my ways.
After graduating college two years early at the age of twenty with a Masters Degree in Criminology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, I moved out of Star City—a bit before Oliver went missing on the boat with his father, Sara, and another man— and moved to Central City to go work at the CCPD as one of the forensic scientists there.
In all honesty, I didn’t need a job since my parents were very wealthy (and I was the sole heiress , so I inherited all of the money and properties), but I absolutely loved science. Therefore, I decided to work for something that didn’t pay much, but had to do with what I was passionate about. I applied for a position as a forensic scientist and I got accepted.
Then, I met Barry allen. It was my first day working at the CCPD and I was looking for the room I was supposed to be working in. He had just come out of the elevator when he noticed me looking around. He asked me if i was lost and I told him that I was.
He offered to show me where the room since it turned out that he was the other forensic scientist working there. We had a couple things in common like our shared love for forensic science, Star Wars, and dead moms. This was a couple months before the particle accelerator.
It was there at the CCPD where I met Detective Joe West and his daughter, Iris West. The two of us clicked almost instantly and became very close. She was a barista at C.C. Jitters which I would often frequent after finding out she worked there. It wasn’t much longer until our lives were changed because of a particle accelerator created by S.T.A.R. Labs.

Hear me out- if the Justice League was created while Dick Grayson’s robin was still young they would have so helped him with his homework :D
Barry- physics and chemistry, he majored in both in school before his accident and in some universes he actually got his PHD and became a forensic scientist.
Diana- history, more specifically ancient greek and both world wars,, it’s said that some of her friends on Themyscira created many greek artifacts that are seen in their museums so she would probably have a great deal of knowledge. She also fought in both world wars so the first hand knowledge would be crazy
Clark- english, it’s literally his job y’all. I just know little robins research essays would’ve been straight heat if he had a whole journalist to his beck and call
John Stewart- math, he becomes an architect after he leaves the marines and before becoming a GL. I’d imagine he’d have had to deal with math a lot since architecture is pretty math heavy.
John J’onzz- lowkey I don’t know, maybe a type of science like biology or earth and space sciences. His human job really has no correlation lol.
Shayera- she doesn’t help him with homework but, she tells him to beat up any kid that makes fun of him for being rich/an orphan/adopted. (Bruce says he disapproves but we all know he did the same shit)

Barry: Technically Watson had military experienced and was a fighter.
Bruce: And Sherlock Holmes' only lover in the original tales was full of wit and cunning and his enemies could also challenge him mentally.
Barry: My villains push me mentally.
Bruce: More psychologically, the same way the joker pushes Jason
Barry: The Rogues aren't that bad, evil speedsters are a different story. But I am an actual detective.
Bruce: You are a police forensic scientist.
Barry: You are a Nepo baby, who -
Hal Jordan (who just walked in): Technically both of you are more know for your punches and less for your detective skills. Plus none of you have mouse movie versions of you.
Barry: ...
Bruce: ...
Hal: K, I am going to leave.

Summary: Straight guy worries he's being homophobic to gay roommate, realizes he's fallen in love with him. Plot twist: it turns out I don't have any problem with Barry kissing guys if it's me he's kissing. Len decides to renounce his life of crime and start a normal life, and ends up becoming roommates with Barry Allen, forensic scientist and total nuisance. For Leonard, Barry is just a mild annoyance who pays half of the rent - until he starts bringing his boyfriends home, and that's when things get complicated. Loosely based on this article that was floating around tumblr a while back.
Author: @coldflasher
Note from submitter: the series also features a 500+k season 1 rewrite, which is a deeply impressive feat of writing

Earth 2-Barry Allen x Male!reader headcanons
Tumblr media
*I'm currently doing a rewatch of the arrowverse and got to the earth 2 episodes and earth 2 Barry was so adorable I just had to write something for him. Anyways here's a quick recap for earth 2 for anyone who's forgotten because I surely did; Barry is still a forensic scientist, Iris is a detective, Joe is a lounge singer, Caitlin, Ronnie and Cisco are all evil metas and I brought Eddie back just for fun since Barry is with reader
● you're a new detective who fell for the adorable nerdy forensic scientist Barry Allen of earth 2
● when you originally asked him out on a date he thought you were just messing with him cause everyone at the station knew he liked you
● but why would the handsome detective (who was also his best friend Iris' partner) want to go out with him?
● Iris assured him that you really did like him and that date eventually led to you guys getting married 3 years later
● every morning before work you make breakfast while he makes the coffee
● it's a nice peaceful moment to start your day and spend quality time with Barry
● you also help him pick out a bowtie that matches whatever sweater and vest he's wearing that day
● double dates out with Iris and Eddie to see Joe sing at Jitterbugs
● as well as having dinner once a week with his parents
● you hear the "so when are we getting grandkids" question all the time
● "soon mom, soon"
● he's so pure and never swears
● he only says "what the heck" or "dang it" or "fudge"
● it makes you laugh at how sweet it is
● watching sci fi shows with Barry and not knowing anything that's going on
● he tries to explain to you all the sciency stuff behind it which still doesn't make any sense but he gets so excited and is so cute doing so you happily listen to him
● being impressed by your husband every time he creates new tech to help in your hunt for Killer Frost, Deathstorm, Reverb and other metas
● Barry keeps tracks of every meta you have put away and all of your other achievements to brag about how great of a detective you are
● one time you and Iris faced off against Killer Frost and Deathstorm and she nearly froze you to death
● Barry never left your bedside in the months you were recovering
● "Barry stop worrying I'm okay"
● "you're the love of my life Y/N I don't know what I'd do if I ever lost you"
● "well it's a good thing you don't have to find out"
● when you get approved to go back to work Barry and Iris throw you a big welcome back party
● Barry is super romantic
● he plans something big for every anniversary from the anniversary of the day you met to your first date/first kiss and even the day you proposed
● you don't know how but he manages to get reservations at the most exclusive restaurants in Central city
● Iris "so what did you and Barry get up to over the weekend?"
● "Barry surprised me with dinner at that fancy French place downtown"
● "how?? Eddie and I have been trying to get a reservation there for months but they are booked until next year"
● even though you've been together for years Barry is still so nervous in the bedroom like it's the first time
● he's clumsy and always knocking things over, you've had to replace so many lamps in your home
● he gets embarrassed by how his body reacts to you and still apologizes for moaning too loudly or bucking his hips uncontrollably
● which you always have to reassure him that it's okay for him to enjoy what's happening and that you love how turned on he gets
● especially when you are role-playing and pretending to arrest him
● or when he sees you in your gym clothes after a work out
● he really can't help staring at your biceps it's his weakness
● when earth 1 Barry shows up to fight zoom he is shocked to find out you two are married (as you are Joe's partner on his earth that he's been crushing on) after you take him to an empty hallway at the station to make out when he was pretending to be your Barry
● your Barry finds out and is not happy about it, "he got frisky with my husband?? I have to find this guy and give him a piece of my mind"
● "you're so cute when you're jealous"
● Cisco "I've been trying to get my Barry to ask you out Y/N for so long now I have proof that you guys would be adorable together"
● Barry "maybe we are just meant to be on every earth"

Spoilers for Flash #21!
We get our first proper look at Eclipso's Rogue generals, and they're Len, Mick, Magenta, Tar Pit, Godspeed…and a mystery guy in a shabby space suit. He doesn't have anything to say, so we don't know who he is or whether his identity will ever be revealed; for all we know, he could just be an anonymous nobody to pad out the ranks, or maybe he's someone important who might come into play later in the story. Mick's a dope again here (at least he's happy about what he's doing), and he's got to be the Rogue whose intelligence fluctuates the most between writers. Even so, Eclipso presumably recruited him for a reason, unless he's just keeping him around for comic relief or perhaps to annoy Len. Also: Radwave? Please tell me Mick chose that name for laughs.
Len, at least, is asking pertinent questions about why Eclipso wants to cause the destruction he plans to inflict on Earth, but as we see here, Eclipso doesn't want to answer. It seems that the Rogues are willingly serving him here -- as opposed to the mind-control he'd done to Marco in Skartaris -- but it's not exactly a free choice to serve when the alternative is dying along with your planet. All the same, it's disappointing that they'd go along with Eclipso's plan when it means virtually everyone on Earth will suffer and die…though maybe Len and perhaps Magenta are planning to turn on him at a key moment? We'll have to see where this goes, but Mick seems like he's on board with it all.
It's a bummer that the Magenta alter is in charge again and behaving callously when she'd come to a positive understanding with Wally and was last seen as Frances instead of Magenta before this arc. But perhaps her Magenta personality became dominant again due to trauma or some other factor we weren't privy to. And Joey is an odd choice for a general over somebody like Lisa or Sam, and neither he nor August (who seems to be trying out his dance moves in the first panel) have anything to say. Three pages with the Rogues is good, but the pages are mostly about Eclipso and we still know little about what's motivating them.
I think my biggest quibble with Spurrier's run thus far is the way he writes Barry, because to me his 'voice' sounds very, very off. I'm still weirded out by Barry's swearing in the first arc, and he speaks in such a casual slangy way that doesn't feel right to me; he's not as uptight as his popular reputation often is, but he's still a forensic scientist who's definitely stiffer than Wally and he talks like he could be one of Wally's duplicates in this issue. Barry's not wrong to be shocked about Wally letting his duplicates die and that's totally to be expected, but Spurrier really needs to work on the way Barry speaks, IMO. It jars me out of the story, and maybe that's why Spurrier's sidelined him in this book -- maybe he's not interested in him or finds him challenging to write.
I'm not really loving the gritty war aspect of this arc, and it's good the other characters are noting that Wally and the Flash Family don't really belong in this situation. PTSD Wally isn't what I want to read about in the Flash book, and I think it'd be nice if at least the audience could learn why the hell Eclipso and the Rogues are doing this. Until then, we're kind of stuck in a holding pattern of depressing and inexplicable things happening…and hopefully we get some answers soon.

The Flash: The Scarlet Speedster Who Defies Time
Tumblr media
The Flash, one of DC Comics' most iconic superheroes, has captivated audiences for generations with his incredible speed, heroic heart, and timeless battles against evil. As a beacon of hope and justice, the Flash has evolved through multiple incarnations, each bringing a unique flair to the legacy of the fastest man alive.
The Origin of the Flash
The Flash first appeared in 'Flash Comics #1' in 1940, created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Harry Lampert. The original Flash, Jay Garrick, gained super speed after inhaling hard water vapors during a laboratory accident. Jay's streamlined helmet and Mercury-inspired design set the stage for the speedster legacy.
However, the most famous version of the Flash, Barry Allen, debuted in 'Showcase #4' in 1956. Barry, a forensic scientist, was struck by lightning in his lab, doused with chemicals, and transformed into the Flash. Barry's introduction marked the beginning of the Silver Age of Comics, revitalizing superhero storytelling.
The Speed Force: Source of Infinite Power
At the heart of the Flash's abilities lies the Speed Force, a mysterious extra-dimensional energy field. It grants speedsters their powers and allows them to achieve incredible feats, such as running faster than light, phasing through objects, and even time travel. The Speed Force connects all speedsters across time and space, making it a central element of Flash mythology.
Key Characters Who Have Worn the Mantle
Barry Allen: The most famous Flash, known for his scientific mind and heroic spirit. Barry's self-sacrifice in 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' remains a pivotal comic book moment.
Wally West: Barry's nephew and successor, Wally took on the mantle after Barry's apparent death. His tenure as the Flash expanded the character's powers and explored deeper emotional themes.
Jay Garrick: The original Flash and a founding member of the Justice Society of America (JSA).
Bart Allen: Also known as Impulse and Kid Flash, Bart is Barry's grandson from the future.
The Flash's Rogues Gallery
No hero is complete without their villains, and the Flash boasts one of the most colorful rogue galleries in comics:
Reverse-Flash (Eobard Thawne): The arch-nemesis of Barry Allen, a time-traveling villain obsessed with destroying Barry's life.
Captain Cold: Leonard Snart wields a cold gun and leads the Rogues, a team of Flash's enemies who value loyalty and honor among thieves.
Gorilla Grodd: A hyper-intelligent, telepathic gorilla from Gorilla City.
Mirror Master, Heat Wave, Weather Wizard: Each of these villains has unique elemental abilities, making them formidable foes.
Iconic Storylines and Events
Crisis on Infinite Earths: Barry sacrifices himself to save the multiverse, a defining moment in comic book history.
Flashpoint: Barry's decision to save his mother disrupts reality, creating a darker alternate timeline.
The Return of Barry Allen: A landmark story where Barry seemingly returns from the dead, testing Wally West's growth as a hero.
The Flash in Other Media
The Flash has enjoyed significant success beyond comics. The 1990s TV series starring John Wesley Shipp brought the character to live-action. More recently, Grant Gustin's portrayal in The Flash (CW series) has introduced a new generation to Barry Allen's heroism. Ezra Miller's cinematic Flash has also explored the multiverse concept in the DCEU films.
Why the Flash Endures
The Flash's legacy is rooted in more than just super speed. He represents hope, scientific curiosity, and the power of self-sacrifice. His stories explore themes of family, legacy, and the consequences of tampering with time.
From his vibrant costume to his heart-racing adventures, the Flash continues to inspire fans around the world. Whether through comics, television, or film, the Scarlet Speedster's journey is far from over, as he races into the future with unstoppable momentum.
