one of the most interesting things about succession for me has been seeing it go from a show where like the main way characters are kendall and tom to a show where the mainest characters are roman and shiv

#like going back and watching the first season it's like shocking how much it's the kendall show #and also how much it's the tom show #and then like. now kendall certainly is no more important than shiv. yknow?#and honestly imo he's actually less central #just in terms of... i guess perspective and pathos #like who were paying attention to #like tbh in the first season shiv and roman really are not very developed characters. like especially roman but shiv too #whereas tom comes out the gate crazyinsane in his special tom way #and kendall is The Main Character #but then as the show goes on shiv and roman get more and more development and screentime. to the point where they are as central as kendall #and feel almost more central because their issues are more novel whereas ken's are... calcified. we are not as invited to empathize with #kendall because we've seen him do his dance #succession

Okay- but the poll I just reblogged really points out something that I've always loved about CATS and because of the fact that it was my very first fandom and heavily influenced how I approach fandom in general- but I absolutely adore the fact that you can have the exact same script and choreography and just with some changes in costume and actor you can have two completely different reads on a Jellicle?

Honestly- I wouldn't be surprised if half of the reason Ghost resonates with me so much is because it's actually very similar to CATS when it comes to how loose the canon is and the fact that the majority of the text is really just an excuse to look at attractive talented performers performing and 99% of our fan "canon" is just a massive collaborative group writing project.

#there is almost no true canon in either #i love it #if you can make it make sense - it can be canon to you #the band ghost #cats the musical #(and yeah the ghouls are different because so much of them is just... the performer)#(but thats a big thing in CATS too and the actor can make or break a Jellicle)#(I mean just look at the difference between Ken Page and Judi Dench as Old Deut)#(I could write pages and pages on how I much prefer the grandfatherly warmth of Page's version and find Dench to be very cold but I digress #plasma speaks

#she has 20 lines at most but i love her #i'd really like for an 5 to have more yuka content... especially since ken is training vbs #ken is working them rough which for people surrounding vivid street (or at least vbs) would seem tough but understandable #but yuka is an outsider. yuka is a caring mother who still supports her daughter and her friends despite not growing up in vivid street #yuka would possibly consider this too much for the moment and try to get them to relax #and. i really want the current vbs arc to end with them relaxing a little #i don't think they'll go straight from “we're surpassing rad weekend and carrying nagi's wish”#to “we're tying ourselves down to this one event when we could go even further”#but they could definitely recognise “we're still kids we have time”#and yuka could be the one to bring that up. radder were all adults when rad weekend happened. vbs are in their second year of high school #and they're talented. so incredibly talented. kohane showed that at crawl green. akito finally realises his growth in his 4th event #toya has just came to terms with his classical music background and draws from it to write songs for the group #and an has had years of experience singing. except she also holds herself back in her want to be line nagi #which i'm almost certain will be addressed in her 5th event. and with yuka being the one who comforted an during lutf (in her card)#well. i think it would be nice for her to come back #especially as she is - again - an outsider to vivid street. she could represent how vbs can go beyond vivid street #another possibility is kohane's father. he sort of just disappeared after sdsc (at least i recall akito and an mentioning meeting him?)#and considering the impact he has on kohane (photography and his doubts regarding her sudden change in early game)#it could be nice seeing him again since with kohane/akito/toya seemingly reaching the end of a current arc in the last year #(ie the kohane and taiga plot/akito no longer feeling like he's behind the others/toya and classical music)#the next step in the group's story could be happening #half of this has nothing to do with yuka fjrjdiejd. i just like the concept of her being the group's link to going outside of vivid street #or going beyond is suppose. beyond the way...#bagel's rambles #i'm on break. watch me draw yuka design

I keep looking at July and just keep going "Wow, it's been almost 5 years since that D&D campaign first streamed and I started doing fanart. Now I'm an intern for a digital studio and doing story work of my own stuff whenever I can." Like the start of my journey is so weird and obscure.

I started as a fan artist for the D&D Campaign Monsters & Mistakes: Times Blessing, which all the streams have been removed would've loved to listen to them for nostalgia's sake. Then I was a player alongside Ann in the first ever D&D campaign I was a part of, Monstrous Path. Then the adventure just exploded from there. I've been in multiple campaigns, drawing as often as I could, graduated Highschool a whole two years early, moved into my grandma's, and now I'm part of that studio I was a fan and friend of for so long.

No one expects this kind of path in life but here I am. All it took was Times Blessing as after talking with the Krew a month or so ago the majority of us found our way to where we are because of it. As much as it seems stupid TB is what started the path for this chaotic group. Now me and two others that had found our way because of TB now get the amazing chance of playing a reboot of the campaign. I can't wait to see where the journey of TB 2.0 will take us who were once fans and voice actors for the original TB.

All I know is that adventure awaits, and I can't wait to see where we will go with this crazy journey.

so i finished all the p3 movies and i am a shell of a human being

#the thing about. persona 3 #is one) p3p does NOT do it justice #i love love love femc love femc route love that the story is different and yet ends the same bc it works rly well with the theme #the story has to end with the protagonist's death #it just does #but i hate how bad the quality is and how little gameplay there is #i certified visual novel liker. am sad that we don't have any cutscenes LOL #anyways but two) the other thing about p3 is. the story feels extremely bland up until shinji shows up #starts his arc with ken. and then dies #bland is not the right word but it's not compelling. to some extent bc protagonist #particularly makoto but sort of femc as well #are holding the entire world at a distance. they're not alive. nothing matters to them #harbinger. holder of death. they are simply waiting to pass away #and it's around shinji's entrance (actually also fuuka and her lesbianism) that like. protag starts to come alive #and everyone gets closer #all these soldiers bonding from their time as soldiers together and it gets really good up until it all falls to fucking pieces #and then ikutsuki betrays you. you realize everything you were doing up until now was bringing the world closer to the fall #mitsuru's dad dies #aegis almost kills you #so so so much of this story starts to come alive and it rewards you for sticking with it in the first act #when it feels like nothing much is happening and the world is kind of boring #anyways then the end fucking destroyed me #sad boy hours. god.#persona 3 #truly like. one of the best persona games #i still rly like p4 despite everyone's hatred of it; i think they did a great job with the relationships in that one #the characters too #p3 spoilers #in case anyone doesn't know what happens at the end of p3 LOL
