one of the most interesting things about succession for me has been seeing it go from a show where like the main way characters are kendall and tom to a show where the mainest characters are roman and shiv

#like going back and watching the first season it's like shocking how much it's the kendall show #and also how much it's the tom show #and then like. now kendall certainly is no more important than shiv. yknow?#and honestly imo he's actually less central #just in terms of... i guess perspective and pathos #like who were paying attention to #like tbh in the first season shiv and roman really are not very developed characters. like especially roman but shiv too #whereas tom comes out the gate crazyinsane in his special tom way #and kendall is The Main Character #but then as the show goes on shiv and roman get more and more development and screentime. to the point where they are as central as kendall #and feel almost more central because their issues are more novel whereas ken's are... calcified. we are not as invited to empathize with #kendall because we've seen him do his dance #succession
