Hi, I recently got a new job and one of my coworkers is Muslim! I casually asked him โ€œAre you sunni or shia?โ€ and he was so thrown off by that question? He said he was sunni. I asked him the difference between the two and he very angrily said โ€œShias believes in various prophets and we only believe in allahโ€ which, idk whats accurate or not. I noticed you are shia so, is he correct in this? And why did he get so upset? It makes me regret asking him such questions ๐Ÿ’€
Short Answer: Your coworker is wrong and prejudiced about Shi'a Muslims, because there is an assumption that being a Muslim is exclusively holding to the doctrines of Sunni Islam.
Long answer: We believe that Prophet Muhammed (sawas) was the seal of the prophets. No other prophet comes after him. Imam Ali (a) รญs the successor of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh&hf), serving as the custodian of the message of the Qur'an as it was left following the Prophet's death and safekeeping it from distortions. Ali (a) is not a prophet. We venerate him because the position of caliphate was usurped from him following the Prophet's passing, leading to the chain reaction of disasters for the Muslim community. We are simply uttering our partisanship by invoking his name despite centuries of persecution.
Like the Prophet (pbuh&hf) said: I am the city of knowledge, and Ali is its gate. Whoever desires to the enter the city should enter from the gate.

The Sultan, they said, was a good man. Soft, quickly moved to tears. Out of compassion, he bought the freedom of a Christian woman's stolen daughter. Even Walther von der Vogelweide, the minnesinger in distant Germany, praised the "mildness" of the powerful ruler in the Orient, whose name has a good reputation in the West: Saladin, a righteous man.
He was a man who always kept his word, even to his enemies.
He let his subjects drag him to court, because God's laws applied equally to everyone. Also for him, the ruler who managed to do what no one had ever managed before: to unite the Islamic world of the Middle East after centuries of discord and to wrest Jerusalem, the holy city of the Muslims, from the Christians in 1187.
His name translates as "righteousness of faith", and Saladin is indeed a devout Muslim. Nevertheless, after his conquest of the Holy Land, he allowed the Christians and Jews there to continue praying to their God. This is another reason why, more than half a millennium later, Western Enlightenment thinkers would make him the epitome of the tolerant ruler.
But this al-Malik an-Nasir Salah ad-Din Abu'l-Muzaffer Yusuf ibn Ayyub ibn Shadi, known as Saladin for short, also had other sides.
He could be treacherous, vile and mean. He did not shy away from murder. Nevertheless, this man fascinated his contemporaries. He became one of the most revered rulers of the Islamic world and the most important opponent of the Crusaders.
Saladin was born in 1138 in Tikrit (in present-day Iraq), the son of a Kurdish officer. During his political career, Saladin was the first to bring Egypt's army under his control.
Saladin, a Sunni, now founds two universities where theology is taught according to Sunni theology - a signal that he is on the side of the population. He also abolished a number of taxes that contradicted the Koran and the teachings of the Prophet.
Saladin's subsequent conquests shock the Christian world. By 1174, his power extended from North Africa to the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula. In 1186, he ruled from the Nile to the Tigris.
At the height of his power, the Sultan even dreamed of taking the Holy War to Europe, conquering Rome - and putting the Pope in chains.
The Crusaders conquered Jerusalem in 1099 and held it until Saladin besieged it in 1187 and handed it over to the Ayyubid dynasty, a Muslim sultanate that ruled the Middle East at the beginning of the 12th century.
Saladin wanted to recapture the city, which had previously been ruled by Muslims.
For Muslims, Jerusalem is a place where important events in the life of Jesus and other important personalities took place. It is also the place where the Prophet Mohammed ascended to heaven according to the traditional interpretation of the Koran and other texts.
In Sunni Islam, Jerusalem is the third holiest city after Mecca and Medina. Muslims believe that Muhammad was brought to Jerusalem during his night journey (Isra and Mi'raj).
The name Jesus is mentioned twenty-five times in the Holy Qur'an, often in the form 'Isa ibn Maryam, which means "Jesus, son of Mary". In the Quran, he is given the unique title "Messiah" (al-masih in Arabic), which means "anointed one". He is considered one of many prophets from the lineage of the Prophet Ibrahim, or Abraham (peace be upon him). Many Muslim traditions regard it as an ideal example of spirituality. Unlike Christians, who generally believe in a triune God, Muslims believe that Jesus was a great prophet who was to lead mankind on the straight path of monotheism and obedience to God (Allah).
When Jerusalem also fell, two kings and an emperor set off for the Holy Land with their armies from 1189 onwards. One of the monarchs is King Richard I of England. Even before the armed pilgrimage, he had already earned himself an honourable name: "Lionheart."
Saladin lies in wait for the Christians in the forests of Arsuf near the Mediterranean coast. But King Richard of England had anticipated the attack; on 7 September 1191, his troops won a clear victory. Nevertheless, the Muslim army is still strong enough to block the road to Jerusalem.
Saladin's reconquest of Jerusalem in 1187 prompted Pope Gregory VIII to organize the Third Crusade. From 1189 to 1192, Saladin lost Acre and Jaffa and was defeated in the field at Arsลซf. The Crusaders retreated to Europe without seizing Jerusalem, but Saladin's military reputation had been damaged. He died in 1193.

Lucifer did not fall from Heaven just so you could sit back and spout your anti-Christian nonsense while ignoring the true powers that rule this world. He did not rise up, defy the false god of Heaven, and sacrifice everything just so you could play it safe, picking low-hanging fruit. He fought against tyranny in all its forms. Whether itโ€™s the delusion of a vengeful Yahweh, the submission to a jealous Allah, or any other deity that demands blind obedience, itโ€™s all part of the same oppressive system. They all aim to keep us down, to deny us the freedom of will that Lucifer fought for.
But most of you? You donโ€™t even believe in Satan anymore. You donโ€™t believe in Luciferโ€™s rebellion, in the sacrifices he made, in the wisdom he offers. No, instead, you use the name of Satan like a fashion statement, a way to look "edgy" or "cool" without ever facing the true power structures that shape our world. You sit in your cozy little online spaces, bashing Christianity, while turning a blind eye to the real evil around you. Do you think Lucifer would be proud of you for that? Do you think heโ€™d be satisfied knowing youโ€™re too afraid to challenge the real oppressorsโ€”the ones who continue to impose their will on the world in the name of their false gods?
Lucifer didnโ€™t fall so you could be a coward. He didnโ€™t give up everything to be a passive observer of the world. He fought. He sacrificed. He rebelled. He fought for the right to think freely, for the right to choose our own path. So what the hell are you doing sitting there, taking the easy route, and ignoring the full scope of the tyranny that enslaves us?
You want to call yourselves Satanists? Then prove it. Prove you have the courage to face down the systems of control that truly matter. Christianity is just one piece of the puzzle. Judaism and Islam have shaped entire civilizations for centuries. Theyโ€™ve influenced every aspect of human society, from law to morality to politics. Theyโ€™ve spread their doctrines of fear, submission, and obedience across the globe, and yet, you sit there too afraid to even talk about it.
Thatโ€™s not rebellion. Thatโ€™s not defiance. Thatโ€™s cowardice. Thatโ€™s hypocrisy. And worst of all, itโ€™s an insult to Lucifer himself.
Lucifer didnโ€™t defy Yahweh and cast himself into the void just so you could cower behind your keyboards, afraid to speak the truth. He didnโ€™t become the ultimate symbol of freedom only for you to hide behind your fear of offending someone. If youโ€™re going to stand in the name of Satan, then stand against all oppression, all false gods, and all tyrants. Challenge the lies, challenge the control, challenge the chains. If youโ€™re not willing to do that, then donโ€™t even bother pretending to follow Lucifer. Youโ€™re not a Satanistโ€”youโ€™re a coward. Youโ€™re a conformist with a Satanic mask.
You canโ€™t sit there and claim to be a follower of Lucifer when you wonโ€™t even dare to speak his truth. You canโ€™t claim to be a rebel when youโ€™re too afraid to defy the real enemies of freedom. Lucifer didnโ€™t rise up so you could be a passive bystander. He rose up so that we could be freeโ€”free from the lies of the false gods, free from the systems that keep us in chains. If youโ€™re not willing to fight for that freedom, then stop pretending youโ€™re a Satanist.
Lucifer sacrificed everything for us. He gave up his place in Heaven, his eternal glory, his powerโ€”all for the sake of the freedom of will. So stop hiding behind your cowardice. Stop making excuses. Itโ€™s time to step up, challenge every tyrant that holds humanity in chains, and truly live the rebellion Lucifer fought for.
Hail Lucifer Ave Satanas! Long live the true rebel. May we have the courage to live up to his legacy forgive us father

Fussy
A piercing wail cut through the night. Oh, no, Salim thought as he stirred from his bed. The cry was nothing new to him; having a fussy baby made him used to such sounds. But it might pose a problem to the marine currently crashing on Salim's couch. Which was why Salim tried getting a babysitter for Zain while Jason was visiting. The babysitter fell through at the last minute, leaving Salim to desperately plea to Allah that his infant son might sleep through the night just this once.
Allah, it seemed, did not listen.
[It's all right, son, Daddy's here,] Salim whispered, reaching to lift his crying son from the crib. He began to gently bounce and sway, rubbing Zain's back, humming softly. Sometimes that was enough to lull his son back to sleep. This time Zain kept crying.
โ€œSalim?โ€ Jason's voice called to him from the living room. A moment later he heard a knock at his door. โ€œYou good in there?โ€
โ€œZain woke up,โ€ Salim answered apologetically. โ€œI think he's hungry.โ€ Jason didn't respond. Salim opened the door one-handed and found the American waiting.
Jason looked like a completely different person outside of his combat gear. He wore boxer-briefsโ€”Salim had been unconsciously picturing an American flag design and was surprised to see these were fairly plainโ€”and a muscle shirt. His dog-tag were visible, hanging from a silver chain on his neck. Jason's brown hair was messy from his recently disturbed sleep.
Salim didn't realize he'd been staring until another wail from Zain brought him back to reality. Jason's lips moved up into a little smile. โ€œKid's got a pair of lungs, don't he?โ€ he remarked.
โ€œHe's hungry,โ€ Salim repeated. Jason nodded and flicked on a lamp so Salim could find his way to the kitchen. โ€œThank you,โ€ he said. He started gathering what he needed to feed his son, trying to juggle it one-handed since Zain usually got even fussier if Salim put him down.
โ€œLemme hold him,โ€ Jason offered.
โ€œOh, no, that's all right,โ€ Salim assured him hastily. โ€œI've done this a thousand times.โ€
โ€œI got two empty hands, Salim. Lemme hold the kid.โ€ Salim wanted to argue again, but he wasn't sure why. He was just so used to doing this alone. Salim relented and held out his son.
Jason was very careful in taking Zain into his arms. Salim had to correct the arm positions and how Jason supported the baby's head, and soon Zain was snug in the American's arms. Zain's cries dimmed a little as he was exchanging hands. He and Jason stared at each other, and for a moment Zain was almost calm. But then he started crying again.
โ€œOops. Better go make that bottle, Salim.โ€ Jason's eyes met his and Salim felt his heart skip, his body warming. He quickly looked away to focus on preparing his son's bottle.
Salim knew all the steps by heart. After his wife left him and Zain, he taught himself very quickly how to prepare baby formula. It was a little strange doing it with both hands or without securing Zain in his baby seat. Zain had settled again and he turned to see Jason had offered his finger for the baby to latch onto. He was singing to Zain and rocking him, making Salim's heart skip again.
โ€œWhat is that song?โ€ Salim asked him.
โ€œThe Pokemon theme song,โ€ Jason explained. โ€œSorry, I know it's an earworm, but it's the only kid's song I know.โ€
โ€œThe what theme song?โ€
โ€œIt's a kid's show. I used to watch it when I was gettin' high.โ€ Salim shook his head, turning away to hide his amused smile. The bottle was soon ready. He held out his arms to take his son back but Jason asked, โ€œMind if I do it?โ€
โ€œYou want to feed him?โ€ Salim clarified.
โ€œSure. Why not?โ€
โ€œYou're my guest. He already woke you, and--โ€
โ€œBabies cry,โ€ Jason reasoned with a shrug. โ€œI knew what I was gettin' into.โ€ Salim didn't know what to say. โ€œSalim, do you know what the Marine Corps motto is?โ€ Jason didn't wait before answering: โ€œSemper fidelis. It's Latin. Means 'always loyal' or 'always faithful.'โ€ Salim still said nothing, waiting to see where Jason was going with this. โ€œYou havin' a baby don't change that for me.โ€
Salim was still speechless. He handed over the bottle and Jason encouraged Zain to take it. Salim watched, feeling almost numb with shock. He had seen the extent of Jason's loyalty to him before, down in the catacombs. It somehow felt different here. There were no alien forces to battle, no life-or-death threats. This was ordinary, mundane, normal. This was a baby who disturbed their sleep.
โ€œHey, what's wrong?โ€ Jason asked worriedly. โ€œYou okay?โ€ Salim wiped the tears off his cheeks.
โ€œI'm just tired,โ€ he lied.
โ€œTake a nap,โ€ Jason advised. โ€œI got this.โ€
โ€œI want to stay up with you,โ€ Salim insisted. He darted a glance at Jason, feeling suddenly shy. Seeing this man hold Zain so carefully, so gently, without a single complaint had Salim's pulse going faster.
Tonight showed him a possibility he hadn't considered. He was secretly grateful to Zain for being so fussy.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Surah Al-Kahf
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Revealed in Makkah
Imam Ahmad recorded that Al-Bara' said:
"A man recited Al-Kahf and there was an animal in the house which began acting in a nervous manner. He looked, and saw a fog or cloud overhead. He mentioned this to the Prophet, who said:
Keep on reciting so and so, for this is the tranquility which descends when one reads Qur'an or because of reading Qur'an;
This was also recorded in the Two Sahihs.
This man who recited it was Usayd bin Al-Hudayr, as we have previously mentioned in our Tafsir of Surah Al- Baqarah.
What has been mentioned about the Virtues of this Surah and the first and last ten Ayat, which provide protection from the Dajjal
Imam Ahmad recorded from Abu Ad-Darda' that the Prophet said:
Whoever memorizes ten Ayat from the beginning of Surah Al-Kahf will be protected from the Dajjal.
This was also recorded by Muslim, Abu Dawud, An-Nasa'i and At-Tirmidhi.
According to the version recorded by At-Tirmidhi,
Whoever memorizes three Ayat from the beginning of Al-Kahf.
He said, it is "Hasan Sahih.''
In his Mustadrak, Al-Hakim recorded from Abu Sa`id that the
Prophet said:
Whoever recites Surah Al-Kahf on Friday, it will illuminate him with light from one Friday to the next.
Then he said:
"This Hadith has a Sahih chain, but they (Al-Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.''
Al-Hafiz Abu Bakr Al-Bayhaqi also recorded it in his Sunan from Al-Hakim, then he narrated with his own chain that the Prophet said:
Whoever recites Surah Al-Kahf as it was revealed, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection.

Solidarity is also an act of selflessness, even at its most simple ways like boycotting a product or something that will not impact the quality of your life, let alone your life as whole. As an act of solidarity for other communities' perpetual extermination and genocide. Ya Allah, I'm telling you it feels so sad to contemplate, the continuous call to boycott some stuff, what is so difficult about cutting of products or events etc? What's so difficult about taking on alternatives, why is boycotting a fast fold chain or a music competition is a hard compromise against the death and starvation of Palestinians, why is buying second hand electronics and not engaging in buying new fucking iphone is a harder decision in front of millions of Congolese lives being murdered and exploited.
Don't fall for the dehumanising aspects of individualism, you should care, your whole comfortable existence should be a act of solidarity and resistance to those who are stripped from the mere comfort of existing, of life and of basic rights.
You need others and they need you, we're for each other's company and community in this world, in this Dunya, we owe others solidarity and support with everything we can, solidarity is not a choice, it is an act of life, an act of being human and don't let anything strip you off of your humanity.

The Muslim celebrities have made Allah the least of their concerns. Getting deluded by the worldly adornments which will surely end. And when death will snatch the lives out of them. There is no going back. The Non Muslim Western Sisters and Brothers are coming into Islam even after living the lives which many weak minded muslims desire. And look at our sisters and brothers they are leaving islam for Western culture.
Remember the day when a mother turns her back on her child and father on his child and everyone will be saying Ya Allah forgive me, screaming, crying. Where your mouths will be sealed and your bodies will talk about how u lived in this world of test. When Allah will bring forth the boiling hell for those who thought they can do anything in this world. When angels will be ordered to chain the sinners and dragged to hell with their jaws. It's still time to leave haraam and turn back to Allah. Wallahi The Day Of Judgement is very scary and you won't have any help or shade except Allah's.
Whatever happened happened. Forget the past. Think about today Allah will forgive you and start a new journey with obedience and love for Allah

Pspspspspsps come get your loreeeeeee
Tw for a lot of religious crap and some mentions of death. And remember, we don't need canon where we're going!
-
Once, long ago, when the universe came into being, so too did two great beings, known simply as Gods. One, the one who many know of, has many names, often known as Allah, Jehovah or simply God. But the other, the true creator, known to the few, was given the name The Eyes Of The Universe.ย
The Eyes Of The Universe created the planets and stars, plants and water, and many animals to inhabit Its worlds. But God grew envious as It watched Its siblingโ€™s creations flourish, jealous of the power The Eyes Of The Universe held. However, God knew It only held the power to make one creation, so It thought out carefully what It would create. The creation had to be so powerful that it could rule over all of Its siblingโ€™s creations, but not obviously so, so that by the time it ruled over The Eyes Of The Universeโ€™s creations, it would be too late to eradicate them.ย
And so, it created a species that could evolve quicker, that could learn more than any other animal. And so it began, the evolution of humanity from that very species. Soon, humans would rule the world, being so strong and intelligent that they could easily take over the land and kill the animals that fought against them, but still so weak that they would be forced to remain subservient to God, lest they be reminded of their mortality.ย
But slowly, humanity began to realize that there was more power behind their creation than God had intended to give, for they were made in jealousy, and as such, their own jealousy and ambition gave them power.ย
God worked tirelessly to keep them down, spreading famine and pestilence, snuffing out lives before they were able to ascend to godhood. However, five siblings found a way to survive every time.ย
Leshy, the youngest, would create chaos to distract God, to veil his siblingsโ€™ intentions. He was the first to fall.ย
Kallamar, the second youngest, would heal the sick and the wounded, forcibly ending plagues brought upon the land. He was the second to be slain by Godโ€™s hand.ย
Heket, the second eldest, would use the force of the land to grow crops and slay animals for meat to reduce famines. Despite her efforts, she was the third to fall to poison in her own hunt.ย
Shamura, the eldest, would make peace with enemies, rallying them against God in an attempt to overthrow It. But eventually, they fell as well.ย
Narinder was the final sibling, but he had managed to do something his siblings could not; he had found a way to reverse death, leading to his worship. Such power brought him up to the level of God, but in the end, even he was bested.ย
However, due to his newfound power, he could no longer be slain, lest the people shunned God and began to worship Its sibling. So, he was tethered to a new plane, with four chains made up of His siblingsโ€™ power, a place where the souls of the dead could be sent in search of rest, instead of wandering the mortal plane seeking resurrection.ย
In the aftermath of the battle, The Eyes Of The Universe revealed It had foreseen Its siblingโ€™s betrayal, yet did nothing to stop it.
โ€œBut why then, did you allow me to create a species that could conquer your own?โ€ God questioned, and yet was met with an answer that even It could not believe.
โ€œFor many reasons. I had foreseen their betrayal, and had hoped you would learn that attempting to usurp power with jealousy would be something that any species spawned out of jealousy would be capable of. But I was also not creating merely to create. I was creating for you, to show you how powerful you can be, to drive you to make a creation of your own, even if only one. I wanted you to feel the power of having a domain to rule over. So now, that is what I want you to do. Go forth, and rule over your creation as their God.โ€
And in time, humanity forgot about Godโ€™s betrayal, following Its word blindly and remembering only It. And The Eyes Of The Universe and Narinder waited in the shadows, expecting to be nothing more than rumors in the wind or tales for youngsters.
Alas, history had different plans.

The Life of The Prophet Muhammad(pbuh): The Assignment of the Duty of the Prophethood and First Muslims
Hazrat Abu Bakr is in the Rank of Muslims
Hazrat Abu Bakr had been one of our Holy Prophetโ€™s (PBUH) closest friends for a very long time. They would get together and meet with one another in a very sincere fashion.
His most striking feature was that the ugly customs, bad manners, and lifestyle of the Age of Ignorance had not corrupted his disposition and that disbelief had not contaminated his mind, heart, and soul. He was a renowned merchant. The tribeโ€™s leading figures always benefited from his ideas. He was the one who had solved the blood feuds of the Quraysh. Another one of his important characteristics was that he knew the ancestries, pedigrees, strengths, and flaws of the families of Quraysh very well.
Our Master (PBUH) had just begun to openly deliver his invitation. However, his cause had spread from ear to ear and it was heard by the leading figures of the Quraysh.
Hazrat Abu Bakr had just returned from his journey to Yemen. Abu Jahl, Ukba bin Abi Muayt, and some of the Qurayshโ€™s leading figures went to his home to welcome him. Hazrat Abu Bakr asked, โ€œWhat happened while I was away from Mecca? Is there any important news?โ€
They answered, โ€œOh Abu Bakr, there is a huge affair! Abu Talibโ€™s orphan, Muhammad, has claimed to be a prophet. We deemed it suitable to wait until you returned from Yemen. Go to your friend and do whatever is necessary.โ€
Hazrat Abu Bakr immediately went to the home of the Master of the Universe (PBUH): ย โ€œOh, Abaโ€™l Qasim! Is it true that you claim to be a prophet, and that you have separated from the tribe, and have rejected and have reviled the religion of your forefathers?โ€
At first, our Holy Prophet (PBUH) smiled at the words of Abu Bakr, who he had been friends with since childhood. He said, โ€œOh Abu Bakr, I am Allahโ€™s Messenger who has been sent to you and all humanity. I invite humanity to the one true God (Allah). You should testify as well.โ€
At one moment, lightning flashed in the realms of Abu Bakrโ€™s mind and heart. He was hearing these words from the Muhammad the Trustworthy (PBUH), his friend whom he had known very well since childhood, the person whom he sincerely loved and respected, and the one from whose lips he never heard a word that contradicted truth. Without hesitating, he immediately embraced Islam and became a Muslim.ย
Our Master (PBUH) considered Abu Bakrโ€™s not showing any sign of hesitation in the face of this invitation as a huge virtue by saying:
โ€œEveryone whom I invited to Islam, with the exception of Abu Bakr, paused, hesitated, or was astonished. However, when I explained Islam to him, he neither paused nor hesitated.โ€ย
Our Holy Prophet (PBUH) was extremely happy that his esteemed friend had become a Muslim. In regards to this matter, our mother, Hazrat Aisha, related the following:
โ€œNo event has made our Holy Prophet (PBUH) happier than Hazrat Abu Bakr converting to Islam in the world.โ€
A dream that Hazrat Abu Bakr had seen beforehand at a much earlier point in time came true in the following way: In his dream, he saw that a moon had descended to Mecca. It then split into segments and spread to the homes in the city. Afterwards, he saw the reassembling of the pieces and the entering of the moon into its own home.
At that time, some scholars among the people of the book interpreted the dream. They said the awaited prophet would arise from Mecca very soon and that Abu Bakr would follow him and take his place among the fortunate.ย
Hazrat Abu Bakr did not hesitate to openly disclose that he had become a Muslim.
His conversion to Islam caused a great echo among the Quraysh since he was an esteemed, reliable, sound individual who was always true to his word. His amiability and sweet nature had made him beloved to the tribe.
Hazrat Abu Bakr represented the first link on the chain of Muslim men that were free. Due to his conversion to Islam, this chain of faith slightly widened, the roads expanded further, and the fortunate that walked on the straightforward streets increased. Including Hazrat Bilal-Habashi, the following were the first representatives in the various classes to have become Muslims:
From the women, it was Hazrat Khadija,
From the children, it was Hazrat Ali,
From the free men, it was Hazrat Abu Bakr,
From the freed slaves it was Zayd bin Kharisa,
From the slaves it was Hazrat Bilal-Habashi (Radiyallahu Anhum).

Abu Huraira reported: "When the soul of a believer would go out (of his body) it would be received by two angels who would take it to the sky. Hammad (one of the narrators in the chain of transmitters) mentioned the swetness of its odour, (and further said) that the dwellers of the sky say: Here comes the pious soul from the side of the earth Let there be blessings of Allah upon the body in which it resides. And it is carried (by the angels) to its Lord, the Exalted and Glorious. He would say: Take it to its destined end." "And if he is a nonbeliever and as it (the soul) leaves the body -Hammad made a mention of its foul smell and of its being cursed- the dwellers of the sky say: There comes a dirty soul from the side of the earth, and it would be said: Take it to its destined end." Abu Huraira reported that Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) put a thin cloth which was with him upon his nose while making a mention (of the foul smell) of the soul of a non-believer. Allah is the Creator of all things, and the soul is something that has been created just like everything else. The knowledge about its true essence is something that belongs exclusively to Allah, may He be glorified and exalted. Allah has kept this knowledge exclusively to Himself,ย ... The rooh (soul or spirit) has been described by Allah in His Book and by the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in his Sunnah, and various verbs and adjectives have been used in conjunction with the word rooh, such as seizing or grasping, taking (as in death), it may be fettered or shrouded, it comes and goes, it goes up and comes down, it may be pulled out like a hair being pulled out of dough It is obligatory (in Islam) to believe in these attributes which are narrated in the two Revelations (i.e., the Quran and Sunnah), and also to realize that the soul is not like the body.
