It's quite fun when a table of 6-8 people see I'm coming to collect plates, and work together to just give me all of them.

Like yeah I've trained to be able to lift and balance that many plates with food and cutlery on one arm. But it's heavy and difficult and I'd appreciate some more notice of the feat.

I agree with the want for a Andrew and Venom movie, but I think rather than the Tom Hardy venom (it is a great movie series but I want it to stay good, we don't need to overuse an already good movie) I think it would be nice if they did what the did with ultimate spiderman almost, rather than him being an alien do like a weird mix of sentient blood type thing. I don't know, I like the idea of Andrew Garfield Spiderman (considering we actually do get to see him being like, sciencey) creating or being part of this creation of venom. Maybe Gwen and Peter argue, maybe they break up and Peter uses the creation of Venom to unhealthily cope with his problems but it turns out bad and Peter loses control over himself. I don't know, I just want something different than like.. Cross over, you know? I'm sick of these stupid Crossover movies, just make something new Marvel, stop recycling movies.

Rewatching again, and…

… There's no denying that 'Eliot, Parker, and Hardison' are a 'trio' w/in the team, but I'm also subject to an ongoingly increasing appreciation for the 'Nate, Sophie, and Eliot' trio.

#Leverage #I've ranted about this so much #but to me Nate and Eliot are very familial and Eliot is very much Nate's surrogate son #and he's very much a confidant to the 'parents'#I find their relationships and development very interesting #in a way it almost feels like an adult son getting to know a new step mom and finally warming to her if that makes sense?#Nate and Eliot settle in very quickly and subtly #while Sophie and Eliot take some time getting used to each other and their development is more on the forefront #bc Sophie is a verbal person she discusses and listens and learns #she's outward #Nate and Eliot can communicate silently and Nate and Sophie already had a Thing #but Eliot and Sophie clash a bit and I think it's particularly meaningful in moments where he makes the effort to communicate to her #Eliot is often seen congressing w/ the two of them w/ a vibe that's just Different than Hardison and Parker?#and I love it #I love how well the different familial dynamics are displayed in such an unconventional way in this show #it's a unique look at a found family that reflects a nuclear one very much #none of them mean any LESS to each other than the others but their relationships are all different #and I just really love the unsaid detail in Eliot's relationships w/ Nate and Sophie #he's definitely the left arm of the crew in particular Nate's #and he develops w/ and eventually accepts Sophie #Leverage is an incredible study in characterisation and development honestly #Things You Didn't Know Fire was Into

bc its been bouncing around in my head i think another little tiny grievance i had with totk is that i got to the end and just felt a sense of ‘well what the hell was that all for then’

#salty talks #like. ok. look at me. do you ever think abt how link loses an arm but absolutely nothing comes of it #it was basically just an excuse to give him powers and there was nothing actually done with yknow #him losing an arm. or how the light dragon thing didnt really have any long lasting consequences #and generally like. i had to think for a moment to remember why the hell she did that #what was her purpose in the past again???? what did she accomplish actually??? oh right the fucking sword #its like. i get to the end and like nothing has changed it all resets to zero it barely even feels lile a change #woth the other races pledging loyalty like the past (gags) bc barely anything abt hyrule changed between those two times #mineru leaves. she was a lot of wasted potential. nothing CHANGED it all just reset back to the status quo #no one learned anything i feel nothing new or interesting just oh hyrule is good :) it all feels so hollow #like you go on this big adventure and then at the end you dust yourself off and go back to doing basically #exactly what you were doing before that all happened like nothing happened. thats how it felt. what was the point #yeah sure new zonai stuff but that never sinks in its not important to the main narrative so it feels like nothing #it just. felt like there was no real point to the adventure except to affirm that yeah the past was perfect keep doing that #while none of the characters actions really have any lasting weight to them and they barely feel involved #i need to stop i can feel myself wanting to keep going lol. link losing his arm but the game not at all engaging with it is frustrating #totk salt #like to me it’s an issue bc its a long game with a lot to do but when you reach the end it just rings so fucking hollow #the main story/narrative equivalent to all those fucking collection items where the prize is a useless fucking token

i think something moonage daydream was really good at doing was capturing a vibe

#sir.txt #the thing it was second best at was painting a picture... that movie is a watercolor rendition of a galaxy to me #i feel like the linear progression of bowie's life in the movie never being marked by any specific dates not even years... it gives it that #not cut and dry feeling. none of these events exist solely in one day of one year they are something that will span longer than ourselves #one day- a couple of hours- stretched into infinity simply by the fact that they were not confined within a date #i think that's something worthy of bowie. to be immortalized not through the medium itself but by how the medium refuses to cage him within #any set parameters that would be too extreme and unsatisfying for him would he be there to choose #instead letting him trespass all those barriers and just be and transcend #my boyfriend says the film is like bowies superstar cosmic journal well i say the film is like bowies watercolor rendition of a galaxy in #formation- and all the stars are still forming and the watercolor still hasn't dried as another layer is added so shades melt within-into-#each other #like how bowie refused to keep himself caged within one style one look one identity he surpassed all of those boundaries and transformed #into something else... it is only fair that the film capture it in a similar way... all of the flashy colors and editing is just a #projection of bowies spirit itself in all its vibrancy and extravagance without being supercilious #this movie was touching but also fun for the sake of fun and eccentric for the sake of eccentricity. it's a must watch for whoever loves #bowie at his most raw and unrestrained and undefined... i felt like falling through the screen to bw held by him at several moments #BECAUSE that's what the movie is it's the galaxy wrapping its arms around the unknowing astronaut #and welcoming them into itself because nobody in this reality is actually an outsider of life- nobody passively observes the universe-#that's something that i found very moving in the film was how bowie surpassed that feeling of all-encompassing loneliness that was #what propeled him to create art... and found acceptance and loving and understood he wasn't alien to all of it.#it's very moving again like i said. but specially movingfor someone like me who struggles so hard not to simply idly observe things and let #life reject me. I can't keep letting these things write themselves into existence over and over and maybe just maybe #that film helped me snap back into a higher sense of lucidity where i realise i have to take control of my life #but like. anyway.#bowies life is very mythologised but in part it is very much a self constructed myth which he himself took the time to skillfully architect #and its such that myth ceases to be only in suspension and untangible: bowie being extraterrestrial.#he.... he integrates so much into the planet he does become an energy traversing through earth. he becomes life itself but in the least self #important way this sentiment could be expressed.#there will never be another bowie- as there will never be another dylan or reed or lennon. there will never be circumstances which will come #but to quote the movie. his life hasnt ended. only changed. thats beautiful. anyways my tags are up

one of my most favorite pet peeves is when someone talks about an old edgy game and is like "its a shame because you couldn't just make that nowdays it would NEVER have been allowed its a shame how we've fallen" but like you get to look at them in comparison to things we have now that are actively even more grusome than ever. People say manhunt couldn't be released today because its too brutal but then the last of us has some extra brutal executions too, and don't even get me started on how the MK series is nowadays. "they would have to censor the story so heavily today so im glad [blank] came out years ago" they say, as some weren't already censored to tone it down- a perfect example of that is always going to be Twisted Metal Black where they changed up Raven's, Dollface's, Agent Stone's, Preacher's, John Doe's story to simmer them all down and lighten the blow, expunging certain levels ambient sounds because the implications of domestic violence, and the changing of No-face's surgical cutscene to make it not as explicitly nasty and meanwhile modern games have been actively stepping it up to be even worse.

"Games are just too prudish nowdays we couldnt even get another ghostly desires LOL" and meanwhile the front page to steam is literally littered with hentai games. that do not hide the lewd and raunchy screenshots. sometimes its a freshly creampied pussy in your face. yeah that. Im sorry but there's so much god damn porn games that are available to buy and some of it is mainstream even (Huniepop for instance).

Back in the day NightTrap was rated as an Adult game. Now? It's T for teen because how tame it kinda is. We're not as prudish or pearlclutchy on literally any of these points as we used to be and thank fucking god for that- but literally take off the nostolgia goggles cause its fuckin blinding you sweetie

#i remember the panic that came out about games like doom and how violent they were #so many hackles were raised and it was so scandalous #the newest ones are even more so and there's hardly a peep #gta was certainly contreversial back in its day but especially 3 set off shit like you would not believe but 5 actively pushes way past it #and there's less about it now- ffs the hot coffee made it back into the remasters by accident #and despite knowing that there was even less of a hubub this time of round for San andreas than back then #literally so few care about that now #but even CoD is getting more graphic than it and so many other games are too #gta just doesnt have its oomph anymore #and i wanna say that's a good thing because there's more artistic freedom with that #but we can't just be so deluded as to pretend we've not gotten heavier about all of this #because we have and it really shows #none of the old contreversial series seem near as bad now when half of everything is rivaling it #ballad of gay tony showed dick and everyone was so up in arms about it #in numbers we couldnt even see for Outlast Whistleblower for seeing a man's dick chopped off and him split open to make a birthing statue #and that is so fucking wild??

on the other hand ive been reading othello today and i know it's shocking ive read 23 shakespeare plays and it took me this long to finally get to othello. in my defense the riverside shakespeare (1973) is a hell of a drug. i have always been reading the plays in no particular order other than what my whims directed me to. i read the winter's tale last year because my professor mentioned it offhandedly. one of the first comedies i read was all's well that ends well not because i knew anything about it, or even heard anyone say it was good, but because i liked the title and i knew there was a character with my name in it. i read all over the place but yeah by far the most significant play i still hadn't read as of a week ago was othello, and now i'm more than halfway through it and. yeah.

i haven't read a pure shakespeare tragedy in three and a half years. ive mostly been reading the histories this year in particular. i think i might generally neglect the tragedies because i find the comedies and romances to be more whimsical and fun, and the histories to be more devilish and bloodthirsty and action-packed, however that is to my regret because my whims have not leaned more towards a tragedy in all that time. i still watch them on occasion but that's different.

i haven't felt this deeply connected to the characters in his plays in such a long time, my god. i absolutely love othello and my heart is aching. desdemona can do no wrong. cassio is poor and unfortunate. i want to rip iago's eyes out. oh my god wow.

#tales from diana #the last time i read one of the pure tragedies it was king lear back in early 2020 #idk what it is about king lear but it is just not my favorite shakespeare play. like remotely at all.#it's not bad but i just don't feel connected to the plot or characters like i do with others.#maybe it's lear himself who doesn't really captivate me. and none of the supporting characters really compensate for that #cordelia is the only character in there i really REALLY felt for. well and edgar. but edgar's plot i find kind of frustrating #and cordelia is barely in the story really.#i watched a production of it like a month and a half ago. no wait it was the bbc television shakespeare production #yeah i wasnt crazy about it and i didnt care for the actor who played the fool.#maybe it was my indifference to king lear that sent me back to the arms of comedies romances and histories. lol #for all that people group together the 'mature' tragedies (hamlet/othello/macbeth/lear) i dont find them to be all that alike in experience #othello might be my favorite? and im still not done #although. idk. never count on me forgetting my love of hamlet #and i havent watched macbeth in awhile so we'll see... we'll see

I love it when Jeff and Marty are in the car together and Marty's default position is to rest his arm on the back of Jeff's seat my brain registers it as a physical connection even though it's not because they aren't technically touching
