I am late to the discussion, but our young Sephiroth sounds seriously frightened here! I have never seen Sephiroth with such strong signs of anxiety outside of the Nibelheim reactor before.

This is the second time we have seen him near Hojo in canon, even if it’s only a vision.

Both times we see Sephiroth confronted by the presence of Hojo, he is not himself. He does not look composed.

When Sephiroth is far from Hojo, he speaks lowly of him or laughs strangely. There is resentment in his words and demeanor…

Was this disdain connected to a hidden fear all along?

I cannot say certainly, but in the Halloween event there was a hint like this too!

The monsters attracted to bad emotions like fear show up suddenly after Sephiroth is overcome with “immense pain” as the Japanese dialogue puts it. This pain and anxiety come from the memories or mental invasion of Hojo that Sephiroth experiences here:

In episode 2 so far, we are focused on Alissa Goldie but there are hints about Sephiroth and Hojo’s relationship that I noticed too! Perhaps all of these past clues will come together and we will see the full picture soon.

I saw that Sephiroth was also uneasy about Kefka in the FFVI crossover story and because the creepy clown was similar to Hojo? 🤔

Hojo is haunting this poor child.

Happy Halloween (and also Deepavali, because they're both on the 31st this year)! Just like my chocolate heart messages generator, you guys get a fresh new set of candies (and non-candies) put into my itty bitty generator!

Went a bit harder this time around (different line brush, actual rendering) and also switched the colour of the backgrounds so you can tell the progression. Perhaps that makes it less consistent, but whatever!

apologies if this is too heavy of a question to answer right away, or if you're just not the right person to ask about this, but i'm curious: are there any plans to move welcome home's website to a new platform in light of wix being pro-israel (firing employees for being publicly against the bombing of gaza, linking to sites full of misinfo in deviantart journals since they also own that site, etc.) or would that be too much to uproot all at once?

Personally I’m not sure! I became aware that Wix supports Israel a couple days ago and I do not like that! I haven’t spoken with clown about it but I definitely want to bring it up when we start working on more things. It’s possible the site will change to not support those ideals. It’s a shame

Like, for example, what if they did not have the DLC planned in advance or even know whether they'll want to make it or not? Not even the matter of 'we should see how well received ER will be first', but simply a matter of how process of writing the story is unpredictable! But when they decided to do it, they would need to figure how to add new lore in a way that doesn't damage or retcon pre-established information. And they did: having a secret family member erased from the collective memory for a good reason is a fair way to develop the backstory more!

But back to the actual point, yeah, I guess it IS kind of funny in this context that even the already established lore leaves the room for Messmer AND much more demigods! Marika had SO many bitches/boytoys....

i know that mushroom is seen as 'enemy of truth' by both green and black, because the things he talks about both aegon and rhaenyra, nobody wants to believe, but perhaps it is in him that there is more truth than in others. I mean, if there was a historical book about the events of asoaif and the moon boy narrated them, we would probably think it was exaggerated and that this would never happen, that his accounts involve many sinister things, but hey we have incest of twins, wargs, betrayal, treason, fratricide, conspiracies beyond account in the main story, hell, we even have a centenary man half fused to a tree in a cave, sounds absurd, but it's there, why is it so hard to believe that sara snow exists? mushroom didn't go north with the manderlys? manderlys are vassals of the starks, it would be impossible for him to have met her personally at some point? I think the fandom needs to be more open-minded and see beyond favoritism, it's like they don't know the main saga, where similar things, however absurd they were, really happened

Sara Snow's story was among the content George R. R. Martin initially wrote for The World of Ice and Fire (2014) but was cut from the book due to space constraints. Sara was later mentioned in Fire & Blood (2018) and The Rise of the Dragon (2022).

Yeah, GRRM had the opportunity to erase Sara Snow from the books once and for all, since she was cut from The World of Ice and Fire (2014), but he didn't. Four years later, Sara Snow appeared in Fire & Blood (2018).

And much later, GRRM had a second opportunity to erase Sara Snow from the books with the publication of The Rise of the Dragon (2022), that is basically an art-book of Fire & Blood, the text of which has been boiled down to make room for over 180 new illustrations.

One of those brand new illustrations is one of two dragon eggs that Vermax supposedly left deep beneath Winterfell . . . .

The dragon's eggs could be an allegory of a real baby of Jace and Sara as the fulfilment of the Pact of Ice and Fire. It also has allusions to the tale of Bael the Bard and the Rose of Winterfell, that also alludes to Rhaegar and Lyanna, and consequently to Jon Snow.
