No, I'm excited to see Jean Grey tear Thanos to the ground. After a long time, I started reading comics again. I hope it brings back my old passion for comics.

[non-judgemental but somewhat aware stare]
the way you draw proportions looks like scott pilgrim during some of the more intense chapters
As someone who has never shown interest in Scott pilgrim and activley avoids it/dislikes it, what does this mean for me
Also I thought it was a game/movie not a book

Made a faintly insane list of of every animated movie I have good enough memories of to feel confident ranking, although some of them I would probably move around if I saw them more recently....
#Apparently “It's Such a Beautiful Day” is my favorite American Animated Movie which is not something i REALIZED before I made this...#movies i haven't seen since i was a little kid aren't on here which excludes a lot of Disney Classics. I have seen more animovies than this#i made up the word animovies to fit that sentence in that tag#also i watched all of the nge reboot movies but it was several years ago and I genuinely do not remember anything that happened in them#i remember not liking them compared to the tone of the series or original movie or thinking they contributed much#despite ostensibly fleshing out the world more#the lower you go on this list the more deranged it looks#i am not actually a big Pixar stan or anything. i do feel like this list makes LUCA being my highest ranked Pixar movie make sense tho..#like. contextualizes that choice by laying bare my Proclivities#i have not watched as much complete and utter dogshit slop as Emily#i DID make her watch Igor (2008) tho it was like... not actually terrible but i went in with my expectations on the ground#i made this list when we were watching strange world and strange world didn't end up on this list on account of me not actually paying#enough attention on account of the deep thought i was putting into this instead#texting#off topic#I have not been having an easy time doing creative things so you get movie and book opinions#i feel vaguely apologetic for some of the choices in this. but not really. It's ranked 100% by how much i enjoyed it there is no pretense o#objectivity

If you brag about avoiding the comics/only watching the animated stuff and movies...just block me because I don't want you interacting with my page atp. If you haven't even read the most BASIC comics to understand a character then I just don't think you do and I don't trust anything you have to say.
"but in the animated universe-" don't care didn't ask. "Well I try to avoid the comics-" you don't even know what you're talking about. Genuinely you don't even have a leg in the race. This is a COMICS blog the discussion doesn't include you.

i have once again jumped to a new fandom LMAO ya bois gettin into BATMAN. i bought the arkham trilogy on steam a lil while ago when they were on sale, and i also bought a couple of comics. but so far ive only played through asylum and only read year one cuz ive been too busy just stalking the batman tag on here LOL
ANYWAY this is my attempt at figuring out how i wanna draw bruce. tbh im not 100% sold on how ive drawn his face but i do think this is how ill be drawing the suit! i wanted to put my own spin on it while still taking inspo from official designs and i like where i landed here (ovo)b

For an actually good Kirby movie idea that still has the mandated "relatable real person": Kirby's clash with Eifilis (which takes place on Shiver Star) causes Kirby to be sent back in time to when Earth was Earth, leading to Kirby making friends with a struggling autistic kid. Kirby, wanting to make sure his new friend stays alive, brings him into the future... Unfortunately, this kid was important to the future of Kirby, being the basis of Zero's negative energy, so Kirby is faced with a dilemma: fix his present, and cause the kid to suffer, or sit in an unfamiliar future, with a friend whose no longer in pain.
Ooh, I think you've got something GOOD going here! In combination with @newthinkerer’s “Kirby movies by decade” this feels like a movie plot that really could have happened! (Give or take the use of the Forgotten Land and Elfilis as major plot points, which would otherwise necessitate it as a “newish” thing.)
Now, I'm a child of the 80s >w> so I can easily envision this as an undiscovered 2D animated movie of that era, in the vein of like, the Rainbow Brite movie, that ends up with surprising amounts of heart despite also playing a little fast and loose with canon! (And experiences a revival in light of the terrible Hollywood Kirby! XD)
It would probably also have a weirdly catchy earworm of an ending song that would have the hardcores combing through used stores and internet archives trying to find the cleanest rip of... (COUGH)
Listen half these lyrics sound like they COULD come from a Kirby movie!!

Do you think DC should do more with animation? (Personally I think theatrical animated movies would be amazing, plus animation is less restrictive than live action so more freedom, but y'know that's kind of a pipe dream ashkshsk)
Yes absolutely! I think animation is perfect for superheroes over live-action any day.
My feelings about the current wave of animation for DC specifically is that they feel overly self referential and are in serious need of fresh new perspectives. We have MAWS, which only pulls from anime as shallow aesthetic and tries to "modernize" Superman lore by superficially adding "more diversity", while hyper-focusing on surface level Superman discourse. We're about to have Caped Crusader which from the early look of it we can see is pulling from a classic era of comics but with no personal touches or interpretation that feels fresh or inspired. Harley is Asian now, but why? I doubt there's going to be a narrative reason for it, and she's just going to be superficially "more diverse". The art style feels like xeroxed Bruce Timm. It's been feeling empty. And the Harley Quinn show is just there. Adult jokes, gross, provocative, flat art style.
Which is a shame because animation has evolved in such fascinating ways and right now I'm just not seeing that reflected in DC animated properties. I hate to say "back in my day" but shows like BTAS, The Batman, Teen Titans, GLTAS- all had unique art styles, takes, and voices. Teen Titans didn't just pull from anime artistically, but narratively as well. The Batman has such a bold art style! BTAS and the DCAU were groundbreaking. GLTAS expanded on that. But now all DC animation does is reference their material- a glorified citation. I think the only show that felt fresh and had a genuine desire to create new fans was DCSHG. MLP dynamic x DC girlies is such a wild pitch but I love it! I'm glad out of the DC Nation Shorts, it got expanded. I honestly wish a lot of the DC Nation Shorts got that treatment!

Here’s a fun question. If you could show Twst characters movies from our world, what would you show them? Are there specific movies you’d want to show specific characters?👀 me personally I wanna show Vil, Lilia, and Rook Johnny Depp😔
I wanna show Leona and Rook some Shakespeare adaptations.
Maybe Scott Pilgrim against the World to the Pop Music Club.
Any adaptation of Robin Hood to Ruggie, but I think he'd vibe with the Disney adaptation where King Richard is a lion haha
The Wolf of Wall Street to Azul.
That's all I can think of at the top of my head.
