If you’re like me and don’t have the time and/or energy to fact check all the Gaza fundraisers going around and don’t trust some random tumblr users to vet them for you, here are some lists of organizations that support Palestinians:

CharityWatch has a list from Oct 10th 2023, I was unable to find a more recent list, but you can check for updated status on each organization

I also found this guy, who's providing some info and a list of needed essentials for clearing up the wreckage. Right now Lahaina is too toxic for anyone to safely search for bodies or belongings without serious protective gear, so everyone hoping to help please spread this and watch this video for detailed information and instructions on donations

If you've ever wondered why people in Hawai'i hate tourists, try to wrap your mind around the fact that there are CURRENTLY, RIGHT NOW, tourists sipping martinis and looking at fish within swimming range of the fresh corpses of local people who couldn't escape the overnight destruction of their entire town.

Try to comprehend that there are fully functional, high capacity boats passing through the waters in front of an area full of survivors who are stranded and in need of supplies, refusing to help. They are hosting snorkeling tours.

Really think about, try your best to actually picture over two thousand people unhoused and in need of shelter, with nothing but the clothes on their backs and nothing to return to. Understand that the island, stolen land, is littered with hotels full of air conditioned of rooms with beds and showers and toilets, each fully equipped to host hundreds of families for weeks, turning these people away because they're booked up with tourists who refuse to leave.

And understand that these tourists were offered free transport to return home or be hosted on other islands. Free. Courtesy of local tax dollars. 4,000 wealthy tourists were offered free flights shelter on Oahu and begged to leave the island, BEFORE the survivors were given shelter.

And enough still insisted on remaining and carrying out their vacations that people are left without shelter and resources while they enjoy "their stay in paradise".

[Edit]: This current situation, and this type of tourist behavior is horrifying beyond words. In other circumstances, the tourism situation is much more complicated, and I need to ask that people do not add on to this post unless they are local.

Important update! Please read!

First, we want to once again deeply thank everyone again for donating to and sharing the campaign to help @moatazart, Mariam, and Maria evacuate Gaza for Egypt! They were able to transfer the money they raised into Egypt and begin the required paperwork!

Unfortunately, complications have arisen

The original sum ($20,000) included the cost of traveling to and entering Egypt for all three of them, as well as basic expenses required for starting a new life in a new country. In numbers, that is ($5,000•3 people)+$5,000=$20,000.

However, the cost of transferring the money was more than 20% of the initial sum, over $4,000. This was so high that nearly all of the money alotted for living expenses is now gone. Their paperwork is started and they are preparing for the dangerous journey south, but as of right now, they have nothing to live off of once they reach Egypt (God willing).

It is frustrating and disappointing that it costs an additional +20% just to begin the process of reaching safety. Now, Moataz, Mariam, and Maria are in need of $4,000 in order to be able to have a place to stay and money for food in Egypt. The goal of this fund is $5,000 because it is now known that 20-25% of funds transferred will be lost to fees. $1,000 will go toward these fees, while $4,000 will cover living expenses.

Please help this family rebuild their lives! If you cannot donate, please reblog Moataz’s post and this post, repost the fundraiser link on your own blogs, and on your other social media accounts.

ARTISTS FOR PALESTINE 🇵🇸 - ROUND 2!! On the 16th and 23rd of March, I'll be doing art requests on stream with other notable artists to raise money for Operation Olive Branch and Project Watermelon.

This round's roster is very lucky to include notable webcomic artists like explodikid, Graveweaver, Curryuku and Speremint who respectively create Covenant, I'm The Grim Reaper, Not So Shoujo Love Story and Brimstone and Roses on WEBTOON. So we were (thankfully) able to cover most of the charges that came out on the first and pay our storage units. We have two more loan payments coming out on the 10th but I'm not as worried about those as I am the larger loans I have. I make $1200 a month, and I might be able to get help with the two I just made payments on, but the loan I have to make the first payment for on August 3rd is $550, and that's going to wipe me out and I have to have $1000 saved by August 18th to more into temporary (but more stable) housing.

I probably will continue to pay one of the two smaller loans if I can pay one of them off, or pay the largest loan if I can pay the smaller two off, but either way I want to make payments on them to knock what I owe down/pay them off completely, so any help at all would be utterly amazing. And any help raising the $1000 for housing in August would be much appreciated.

EDIT: You guys. We might have an apartment soon! I got an email Friday afternoon from one of the complexes we were waitlisted at, and they want us to come in and do the move in packet. I need to come up with $75 for the application fees, plus $525 for my mom's current overdraft/Speedy Cash loan payment and $445 for my current overdraft/Speedy Cash loan payment, and I need to knock down at least the two smaller loans, but yeah. I am so excited!

EDIT 2: My daughter just got diagnosed with Covid. Her symptoms are pretty mild, thankfully, and she's on Paxlovid for it, but yeah. We need ideas for getting stuff for her to eat since her throat hurts so much and my food stamps card has disappeared (I have yogurt smoothies and bottled water, and she can suck on cold applesauce packets, but that will only last until Thursday), and any help I can get covering overdrafts and the loan payments on the 10th would be much appreciated as well so I can get us food while i wait for my replacement card.
