Personal Ranking of the Fantasy High Moms, From Worst to Best:

Arianwen Abernant: -19999/10. She's not as bad as Angwyn, since she's convinced herself she's a good mother, but her "I just want the best for you" shtick isn't any better, and the fact that she's ignorant about how horrible she is doesn't make up for years of neglect. And she also attempted to rope her daughters into raising a being of pure nightmares because she lost her status, so.

Donna Applebees: 0/10. Conservative, racist, judgmental, only loves her kids conditionally... you get the gist. Also, she's absolutely a Karen.

Hallariel Seacaster: 3/10. Yes, I know, she's a MILF, she's got such an iconic vibe, she's a badass with a sword, but none of that excuses years of being emotionally absent from your son's life. She's not a bad person, but she unfortunately doesn't know how to be a mom. Sorry, Hallariel. I wish I could rank you higher.

The Last Phoenix: 5/10. Bird. She's a bird. We don't know enough about her except for the fact that she is the last phoenix, she started out as a "haha Arthur Aguefort is a crazy motherfucker" gag, and she gave us the incredible gift that is Ayda. I cannot rank her fairly, but given that she is Ayda's mom, she goes on the list.

Roz Last-Name-Unknown: 6/10. Same deal with Gorbag---we don't know enough about her for me to properly rank her, but we do know that she was a teen mom, and she's made the choice to reconnect with her son and be in his life. Props for that.

Sandralynn Faeth: 7.5/10. I am ranking her realistically, but let it be known that I love her so much. She is such a beautiful example of a flawed person who consistently tries to be better, and even though she does relapse into old behaviors, she's still growing---and outside of the serial cheating (that is a response to trauma, by the way) and occasional lapses in social skills, she's a pretty damn good mom, all things considered.

Cathilda Ceili: 8/10. She's the parent that Fabian needed, even if he didn't always realize it. She's sweet, she's caring, and if anybody hurts her boy, she will fucking rock your shit. (Also, the reveal of Cathilda being an incredibly fearsome and ruthless pirate outside of Solace was one of my favorites.)

Wilma Thistlespring: 9/10. She's a caring and supportive mom who writes songs, is sex-positive, and loves her son! Again, she does need to recognize when she's embarrassing Gorgug, and she needs to recognize that he's gotta learn how to be angry, but still! We all love her!

Lydia Barkrock: 9.6/10. While she doesn't quite get the full score due to the fact that her son was briefly an ass, it clearly was not her fault, and from what we've seen of her, she is a fantastic mom. She's a badass disabled powerhouse who cooks incredible spreads and cares about her son and his friends a lot. I love her a lot. She's amazing.

Sklonda Gukgak: 10/10. She took that spot in her very first scene, where she poured water in her cereal so Riz could have milk in his, and she's been holding it up ever since. Despite the fact that she's constantly swamped with work, Sklonda is literally one of the best moms you could ever ask for. She deserves the world and it's a constant injustice that she's not getting it.

Bonus: Garthy O'Brien, while having transcended gender and therefore not being able to fit into either of the "mom/dad" rankings, is an 11/10 parent---not just to Ayda, but to everyone younger than them who they've essentially adopted. Words cannot express my adoration for this person.

ive been thinking about one of my fics/aus lately, so naturally i started drawing and writing about them again.

back on my bullshit, but the thing that is bothering me today w/r/t gffa logistics is: how the actual fuck do fill-in-the-blank forms work for standard information. (ie, names, pre/post nominals, age, postal info)

like, we can't even do them well here, on one planet! either you have a drop down of one million options, and filling in the most basic form takes four hours to put in '[Ms/mx/etc] [name]' or you have a write in section and have to standardise that......somehow (data techs weep)

are there titles that have to have proof, like 'you have selected 'jedi - padawan' as your title, please provide a holoscan of your temple ID'? there's got to be like. thousands of royal titles, and every planet has at least one knighthood/OAM/etc designation, and don't even start on like, dr/rev/uncle/etc kind of titles...

plus also. what the fuck do name sections look like. first name/last name, with indicator that you don't have one? first/last/middle? really big write in box, and hope the underpaid being processing your form guesses correctly and you're not in the system as 'Jdm obi wankenobi' or Count NO NAME GIVEN Dooku NO NAME GIVEN'??

For housewife sjw: we know that jinwoo married hubby for the money, but why did hubby agree to it?

Hubby fell in love at first sight. Jinah approves, anyone who cherishes her brother is good in her eyes. Would their mom be disappointed she missed the wedding? Or happy that they are taken care of?

Because drama is always good and cliches are fun when there's a new twist, Jinwoo's hubby actually picked Jinwoo to get out of an arranged marriage.

Okay, it wasn't quite as dramatic as that.

Hubby's mom kept setting him up on blind dates. He wasn't into that and the excuse he blurted out that came to bite him in the ass was... "I'm gay."

Which, his mom was more than okay with. So he got tossed into blind dates with guys (that he wasn't attracted to).

BUT he's committed to this lie. He can't backtrack. Fuck it. So he decides to find himself a nice guy who's willing to enter into a marriage so that his mom doesn't find out that he lied - be married long enough that he can claim that he's actually Bi and his "divorce" put him off of men for good - and this guy will be a Good Friend. Or at least a guy who's happy to sell a few years of his life for money but isn't too money hungry to sell out company secrets or personal details to the media.

So, a dating app. And a lot of background screening.

The lucky winner that fits hubby's criteria is Sung Jinwoo who's in a understandable desperate spot to need cash but is a stand up guy who shouldn't have too much baggage to be a hot mess. Insert a few dates where Hubby is Vibing with his soon to be housemate and... sparks start flying?

"Shit, so maybe I am gay after all," hubby says with new realization.

I think about what all the uncles/godfathers Su-ho (could've) had:

Woo Jin-chul - responsible, mature, barely shows up due to his work, but if Su-ho happens to stop by, he will let him sit on his lap and cuddle then watches him play around.

Yoo Jin-ho - personal favorite, gives Su-ho toys and plays with him on the floor, spoils him especially when Jin-woo isn't around, and makes him laugh.

Baek Yoon-ho - sends tiger plushies to Su-ho, sits him on his broad shoulders, lets Su-ho call him "Kitty" or "Big Kitty", watches movies with him, and teaches him how to "deal" with bullies.

Choi Jong-in - gives Su-ho some new clothes, fixes his hair if he notices it's messy, the protective uncle, and helps him with homework.

Thomas Andre - a huge softie around Su-ho, tells him various stories, teaches him how to speak English, gives weapons in his birthday (which Hae-in had to hide before her son sees them and fawns over the sharp objects to no end), and also teaches him how to "deal" with bullies.

Liu Zhigang - gives him panda plushies, is gentle around Su-ho, and the kind of uncle who gets proud of him over basically anything.

Min Byung-gyu - picks Su-ho up from daycare for the sole reason to spoil him with ice cream afterward, helps him with history, one of the "safe" people Jinhae trusts to watch over their son for the whole day, and makes him delicious food.

Lim Tae-gyu - the "chill" uncle, will accidentally blurt out a swear word and panics when Su-ho hears it, sings kiddie songs with him, the supportive uncle especially when he learns that Su-ho tries out sports, and playfully teases him.

Lennart Niermann - also responsible and mature, and will basically smile at anything Su-ho does and he doesn't think no other baby will make him fawn but Su-ho himself.

And of course, there are the aunts/godmothers!

Lee Ju-hee - BEST AUNT! Su-ho's favorite auntie besides Jin-ah and Esil, will mend his wounds and makes him something to eat for comfort, hugs Su-ho until he starts complaining that he can't breathe, and sings him lullabies.

Sung Jin-ah - spoils her nephew shamelessly even though Jin-woo keeps warning her, embarrasses his dad, and has an entire album filled with photos and videos of her nephew.

Esil Radiru - again, spoils the heck out of Su-ho and makes him pretty clothes to wear, helps Hae-in when she was pregnant with Su-ho, and never misses an important event in Su-ho's life.

Laura - responsible and is quite strict when Su-ho starts being naughty and makes up for his pouting face by giving him sweets.

def biased and based on my personal opinion

cult - i just really love the different horror style in this, it resonated a lot with me bc when i was watching it i was really into the psychology of cults and i loved the character dynamics.

2. murder house - honestly pure nostalgia, ahs was what introduced me to the horror world so i will forever remember this season as amazing, besides the plot twists were just way too good.

3. asylum - arguably the best one, well-written and well-developed, def the scariest one too. i didn't know what to expect and i loved the ending. also i love lana.

4. freak show - i think this one just ranked this high bc of jessica and finn. dandy is imo one of the best characters in the whole show, overall the concept is just very interesting.

5. roanoke - sosososo underrated it's soo good i love it. both parts are very interesting and this one i couldn't watch at night bc i was afraid someone with a pig head would appear.

6. hotel - this was my favourite for a very long time, now i feel like it's good it's just a bit too messy, it's like they forgot the plot and only focused on developing characters (and there where A LOT)

7. nyc - probably the most underrated ever. everyone just kinda rejected it immediately bc it had almost no one from the og cast but the plot is soooo good. i was genuinely hooked and the forest scene is genuinely a masterpiece.

8. 1984 - i liked it i just feel like the whole time thing was a bit messy and i wished they had just sticked to a slasher, but it's not bad, just kinda chaotic.

9. coven - idk i like the characters in this but the plot was just boring. i get why people like it it's just not my thing and i feel like it's a tad overrated.

10. apocalypse - literally coven but worse. the first part where they were all locked seemed like a nice idea and i loved gallant. it just all went downhill from there.

11. delicate - honestly i shouldn't even be ranking this since i didn't even finish, it was just too boring even though i love emma. idk it just didn't work for me.

12. double feature - obvious last place choice.
