rental flats be like:
have a leaky sink and have everything stink of damp (it already does anyway but now it's even *better*, more fragrant and delectable, if you will) - cupboard door that was always wonky and the letting agency didn't want to deal with comes off one (1) hinge - a plumber fixes the leaky sink (after a second visit. after 2+ weeks of dripping that we know of) - the cupboard door falls off the second (2) hinge in the process - the front door locking mechanism dies as the plumber is on his way out so the door doesn't actually lock up - die

Does anybody in the UK know of any estate agents or landlords that accept tenants on benefits?
I cannot explain how despairing and hopeless this all is.
I can't work because of my CFS, I don't have a guarantor anymore, and the council are utterly useless.

My real estate rental agent called and now I'm stressing because he didn't leave a text or a voicemail and I'm worried what I might have done wrong or that I'm going to be asked to give access inside the house or any number of things and I hate how stressed and scared I am about this.
I'm gonna have a shower and put on clothes and get into my strong empowered professional woman mindset (nevermind that I don't actually have a job right now) and call him back and deal with whatever it is.
But the little side of me, the broken side of me, just wants to stay curled up in a little ball in bed.
With the housing crisis I can't afford to make any agent or landlord unhappy with me. I live in constant fear of being turfed out and unable to find cheap rental and forced to live in my car.
I specifically bought a Subaru Forester because I like how spacious it is in the back, you could live in it if you became homeless, at least for a bit. And I think that is a damning statement about what it's like being a single woman who rents in Australia, or in many other countries actually, right now. Remember I have my child to think of too.
Anyway. Breathe. He can't kick me out straight away without warning. He probably just wants to confirm getting a tree guy in to remove the dead tree that has been lying on my balcony since the storms around Christmas last year.

Due to global increases in energy costs related to heating residences, going forward Santa will be putting coal in the stockings of all adults on the Good List.
Those on the Naughty List will receive a copy of the upcoming NYT bestseller “Everyone Else Can Afford It, Why Can’t You?”, a 35-hour audiobook, customized with a list of all their very specific psychological issues, which will start a separate uninterruptible autoplay, that only they can hear, every time they click a link .

My neighbour runs a scam company where he's basically a landlord for landlords (he works from home and takes all his calls in the garden so I get to hear his sale pitch on repeat and it's either a) nonsense or b) just lies) and they've been mildly annoying but like liveable as neighbours. (I mean they haven't fired bb pellets into our garden or thrown constant teen ragers so we can forgive the occasional 1am karaoke party.)
But now the prick has gotten himself a metallic purple lamborghini that he now every single fucking morning revs outside the fucking house at 10am bc he doesn't actually have a real job and then he drives it round the streets for like an hour or so and you can hear it coming back for like a full five minutes bc it's a VERY loud car and we live in a quiet suburb.
Every. Single. Morning.
If they didn't have cameras on their property like the arseholes they are I would very seriously consider pouring sugar in his petrol tank. 🙃🙃🙃
