“… 2014-. 2014?!”

I shout, almost dropping my tea cup on the table. “That’s like-… almost 90 years! I was only out for an hour! … at least that what it felt like?!”

“… it’s also been that long since your missing persons report, along with your siblings.” Edwards told me, refilling his own mug with.. what I assume is coffee.

“Why are you so calm about this?!!” I shouted concerningly, which is very worrying right now.. mostly cause in situations like this you don’t exactly stay calm.

“Son, I stopped worrying about these things when mount Todd became a hotspot for legend hunters and said victims disappear in these parts.” He said to me, pouring a different hot drink into his cup.

“Oh… not that weird then?” I asked, sipping some uh… shamomile.? I got from Edwards. It’s really good. “Nah, surprises still get me.” He admits.

“Not everyday you get to see your uncle’s friend’s brother again, looking exactly how he disappeared.” He says, sitting himself down across the table from me. “Biscuit?” He offers.

“Sure, thank you.” I said, taking one from the offered plate. “So… where’s my Edwards?” I asked, arching my brow at the older male. “Dead. I can’t sugar coat it.” He shrugs, sipping his own drink.

“That’s fair.” I asked, taking a bite.. smiling widely at the sweet taste. “How…- how much has changed?” I hesitantly ask.

He chuckled dryly and shook his head. “A little much for your taste, but I think you’ll blend just fine.” He shrugs, stood up and walked out view. “… how so?” I ask.

By the time he returned he brought out a book… except it looks… shiny.. and colourful. Moving his seat next to me and placing it in front of us both.

Flipping through the pages. “As you can see, some of my family members died, along with my uncle while he was in prison.” “… don’t you mean Hoosegow?” I asked, turning to Edwards in confusion. “Tom, we don’t call it that anymore. Might wanna change that.”

“Oh, dry up Edwards.” I said, rolling my eyes at him.

“… moving on, a lot of folks in this town aren’t exactly your local run of the mill people you remember. A lot of the ones you knew either died, has memory issues or is just crazy.” He says.

“Sooo… even if they do remember they won’t?” I asked, Edwards gave me a nod and that’s all the answer I’ll get to make me really smile.

“Yep, first thing next week, we go to the police station first, to get you a membership as well as your identity, than get you a new brace cause.. your one won’t stick, do some shopping and roll you in for school. How’s that sound?”

“That’s the cat’s pyjamas!” Edwards stared at me like I’ve grown a third head.

“… right.. we need to work on your slang.”

P.s… turns out, old man Edwards isn’t friends with Benny.. just the guy has been around a long time to know about the down fall of the weavers.

I realized I never actually watched the final installment of the Concept Corner series, so that’s what I had playing when sketching these. It’s just so fun listening to the brainstorming and cool character connections

a bit of a personal ramble because fuck it, i’m posting whatever i want on here:

the past couple years have been some of the most difficult of my life. my mom being unexpectedly hospitalized twice, the worst creative burnout of my career, the grief of reading the news about palestine every day, deep rooted anxieties about not being good enough resurfacing at an all time high, and realizing i was unhappy around people i thought i’d love forever. without getting too dark, i’d never felt more hopeless.

but even through all of that, even with the state of the world right now and the impending doom of waking up each day, i think this might be the most fearless i’ve felt in a very long time.

i just want to be alive and create and build community and share a space where we all still feel hope for our world. and that’s what i’m going to do, through the fear, through all the shit of life, i’ll be here.

I been talking to a lot of ppl w cats lately (I volunteer at an animal shelter) and I didn’t know this needed to be said but

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT DECLAW YOUR CAT.

Declawing sounds very normal to people who aren’t educated on it so let me show you what it actually is.

As you might notice from the diagram, the claw is attached to a small bone at the very end of a cat’s paw. They are fused to this bone, which on a human hand would be where your last knuckle is (the one right before your nail). When someone gets a cat declawed, they aren’t just removing the claw.

The entire last digit of the cat’s paw is removed. (See below)

This severely impedes the cat’s ability to balance itself, is extremely painful for them, and can make the cat extremely aggressive because it no longer has one of its main defense mechanisms! It can also cause many other medical issues down the line including infection, necrosis, and some cats are never able to walk correctly again. Most cats that have this done never fully recover from the procedure and are in constant chronic pain.

It is extremely inhumane and is illegal in only two states at the time I’m writing this!!!! (Maryland and New York) Cats should only have this procedure if it is a life or death situation, never just because someone finds a cat being a cat inconvenient for them. Don’t get a cat if you don’t want to be scratched or have some ruined furniture. If you want more information on this topic, I’d recommend Jackson Galaxy’s YouTube video on it, and to read up on some articles I will link in the comments.

I know I don’t usually post about these types of things, but it’s made me extremely angry to hear people mention getting their cats declawed so flippantly as if it doesn’t ruin the cat’s life, and always for an asinine reason like “they scratched my couch” or “they scratch my kids” THOSE ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A CAT OWNER. Treat your kids and peers to treat animals with respect, or don’t get a cat.

Imagine if Billy didn’t know Shazam died?

(This is actually apart of my AU lol)

But what if Billy didn’t know Shazam, the Wizard, was actually dead? Like maybe he did see Shazam get crushed by rocks but he just thinks a Wizard could survive that, Or he doesn’t remember meeting Shazam for whatever reason. (Like he knows it happened because his pantheon told him so, and he remembers like a tiny bit of being at the RoE, but maybe he doesn’t remember Shazam dying)

This would be kinda funny to think about, especially if the pantheon’s trying desperately not to let Billy know Shazam died. But they occasionally slip up, and each time they do Billy gets slightly more suspicious. Also, in my AU since Billy and Marvel and separate entities, I think it would be funny aswell if Marvel didn’t know either. (—which I do have an AU explanation to make it work, but I fear I may be getting too off track already.)

Billy: So I got my powers from this Wizard, his names…um. I think I told Zatanna? Captain looks over at her.

Zatanna (going pale): Really. I don’t remember.

Billy: Oh, okay, that’s fine! Here.

Grabs a piece of paper and scribbles down the name.

Superman: Shazam?

Every magic user in the cafeteria freezes.

Billy: Yeah! He’s the wizard who gave me my powers. I haven’t seen him since I became Captain Marvel, though. I should really go talk to him, maybe I’ll do that later.

Aw dude, this isn’t “cringe” at ALL to ask. I’m so sorry your night has been going so rough for you. I’m sorry if this isn’t the best (it’s currently very late in my timezone and I’m very tired), but I’m more than happy to type out a little something for you!

He’d definitely be a little bit awkward in trying to comfort the student, but he’d still try offer them some support. Listening to them rant if they need to, reassuring them, ETC.

One thing he WOULD be very good at is offering a distraction from whatever got them so upset. He has pretty much every movie or TV show in existence stored in his head, so if they wanna watch a bit of their favorite movie to calm down, he can easily switch to that channel for them.

He would probably try to joke around with them once they’re done ranting out their frustrations to lighten the mood, but if he can tell it’s not helping then he’ll stop.

Like I said before, he isn’t particularly used to comforting people. He hasn’t had to much, anyway, considering his lack of friends in life. But if it’s for a student that generally treats him kindly and does everything they’re supposed to for their classes, then he’ll try to make them feel better, even if only slightly.
