For those who are young and/or about to live alone.
Things you should not put into microwave:
Metal
Plastic
Glass
Metal fork or spoon will f*ck up the microwave. You can watch videos on YT, people do it for entertainment.
Cheap plastic will melt when heated up (plate, fork, spoon).
Glass that was not meant for use in oven will break when heated up. Don't put glass into microwave, don't make tea in glass bc the cup might break and boiling water will splash on you and burn you.

Thank you to everyone who voted, liked reblogging, and commented on my previous post. I wanted to ask another question in hopes of making my YA novel relatable and true to the struggles and realities experienced. If you feel comfortable answering, I'd love to hear from you. No pressure at all.

A few things ive been doing recently that help manage my adhd
Not sure if this will help anyone but i've made a list of things ive been working really hard to do to help manage my adhd and general inability to be a functional adult:
Make reminder posters! Get on canva and create personalized posters to put around your room/house to help remind you to do daily things like take your meds, feed pets, take out trash, etc.
Keep a junk notebook! Anything you think of that cant do immediately write it down. If its important it'll help you remember it, if not it saves you from getting distracted or making impulsive decisions. (This is especially helpful if you tend to get distracted when studying!)
CLEAN AS YOU GO! Whether its taking a cup out of your room every time you leave or washing each dish immediately after use. If you can develop this habit it keeps your space so much cleaner!
Have two laundry bins: one for worn but not dirty things and one for dirty things. It limits what ends up on your floor!
Make use of bins. I have several around my apartment that I use for things that dont have a home. Once those bins are full, I go through them and discard or find a permanent home for them.
Don't study/work at home. Even if it means buying a $5 coffee just so you can sit in a spot and effectively work, its much better than getting so behind on tasks you get overwhelmed.
It takes some work to develop habits and im far from perfect with all of these, but if I can do these things even 3 days a week it makes a huge difference!

The most important quality you can have as a young professional, in any field, is the ability to pivot. To learn from bad circumstances, to redirect after rejection, to capitalise on what would be a loss to anyone else. Learn how to pivot, and you’ll literally be invincible.

did I just watch a show cuz social media basically coerced me into watching it ?! ABSOLUTELY YES I DID and I'm not even sure why I did it - like I have exams going on and i binged an entire show on one afternoon (CAN YOU BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY PROCRASTINATE TILL THE POINT OF FAILURE?!) well it was Maxton Hall and one of my friend said it was good and well the show was decent, quite pompous tbh but it was better than some other shit shows I have binged in a while. And I'm not sure if I watched it for enemies to lovers part (definitely this one) or cuz the guy was too hot or for both of the above mentioned reasons 😭 and my friend didn't bother to tell me that it ends on a cliffhanger LIKE HOW COULD SHE FORGET THAT DETAIL NOW IDK IF I SHOULD GO BACK TO STUDYING OR JUST READ THE BOOK IT'S BASED ON CAUSE I CAN'T WAIT THAT LONG FOR AN UPDATE

Although many things may still need to happen before you identify what your exact work will be, I know that every single person whom you’re meeting and every experience that you’re having is necessary to you discovering your purpose. They are points on a map leading you to the moment where a match will finally be lit and you will be able to see through the darkness.

DO NOT STEAL. THIS IS MY ORGINAL STORY.
As Noor and Alex walked home from school, the new killer lurked in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. But just as they were about to pounce, a loose paving stone caught their foot, sending them tumbling down a nearby flight of stairs. The killer's screams echoed through the alleyway as they fell, their body crashing against the concrete steps.Noor and Alex rushed to the scene, finding the killer lying motionless at the bottom of the stairs."Oh my god, it's...it's that person who's been following me!" Noor exclaimed, her voice trembling.Alex's eyes widened in shock as he realized the killer's intentions. "We have to call the police!"As they waited for help to arrive, Noor secretly slipped something into the killer's pocket - a small vial of poison, one that would ensure they never revealed her secrets. The police ruled it as an accidental death, a tragic fall that had claimed the life of a would-be killer. But Alex was shaken to the core, his gratitude towards Noor deepening into a fierce protectiveness."Noor, I can't lose you," he whispered, his arms wrapping tightly around her. "You're all I have left."Noor's heart raced as she hugged him back, her secrets safe for now. But the web of lies was tightening, and she knew it was only a matter of time before everything came crashing down. The new killer, whose name was revealed to be Sarah, had a twisted obsession with Noor. Sarah had been a former classmate of Noor's, and had always felt overshadowed by Noor's intelligence and popularity. As time went on, Sarah's jealousy turned to hatred, and she became fixated on destroying Noor's life.Sarah had been tracking Noor's movements for weeks, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. She had even gone so far as to break into Noor's house, leaving sinister messages and tokens of her presence. But what drove Sarah's obsession was a dark secret from her own past. She had been a victim of bullying in high school, and had never recovered from the trauma. In her twisted mind, she saw Noor as the embodiment of all the popular kids who had tormented her, and she was determined to make her pay.As for the poison vial, Noor had discovered it in her father's old lab, a relic from his days as a chemist. She had kept it hidden away, knowing it could be useful in desperate situations. And when she saw Sarah lurking in the shadows, she knew she had to act fast to protect herself and Alex.

God’s love never ends, never runs out, there is no limit to it. It doesn't matter how much you have failed, it doesn't matter how low you have fallen, God still loves you. Run back to Him.

Spd occupational therapy
Okay so I’m an autistic person with pretty bad spd and it seems to only be getting worse as I get older. It’s gotten to the point where I can’t eat most foods. I used to love pudding and hummus and yogurt and pumpkin pie but I can’t eat any of them now because of the textures. My sensory issues have gotten to the point where certain textures quite literally make me vomit. I always feel so bad because I don’t want to be picky. I want to be easy but I just can’t touch certain textures or eat certain textures or hear certain sounds. I want to start ot but I don’t really want to go pay for it so I’m just going to work on introducing and getting myself comfortable with textures at home. My family works so hard to accommodate me and I’m tired of being the difficult picky guy. Tips for getting used to sounds and textures?

Young adult life advice
If you're going out into the world without a degree, or a degree that gave you zero opportunities, here's my advice to survive as an adult (in America).
You need friends. Make them at school, work, out and about in public, even online friends who live in the same country. If you want to move out of your parents house and can't afford a place on your own, you need friends to be your roommates. Note: it is a lot harder to be someone's friend when you're living with them. They way they clean, if at all, the way they cook, if at all, the way they keep their personal space, all come with nuances that you weren't prepared for. You need to be able to talk things out to make keeping the household comfortable for everyone.
Apartment hunting:
You should do a lot of research about what housing is available. If you don't have a car, you need to do your best to make sure that wherever you end up living and wherever you end up working are within reasonable walking distance. If you live in a place that gets snow, this is especially important. Townhouses are another option for renting. Some are the same price as a 2 bedroom apartment with more space, but they'll likely be more picky about who lives there, so keep your place clean, otherwise they won't renew your lease. Make a spreadsheet, with pencil and paper if you have to, to help with cost-benefit analysis, it's worth it.
Good jobs to learn life skills:
Food service. These have a very low bar to entry, unless it's high-end. McDonalds has surprisingly decent wages and benefits, at least where I live. You get an employee discount on the food, and usually a free meal once a day. They will train you for your position, and if you have a good manager, they will invest the time to make sure you know how to do a good job. A restaurant, buffet place, or fast food joint will teach you food handling and safety. The dishwasher position will teach you how to clean a lot of stuff. Like, not just plates and cutlery, but pots, pans, and other food prep equipment. There's also janitor and maintenance positions that are very valuable to learn from. If you're a proper cook at a proper restaurant, you can learn how to cook for yourself. Buying ingredients for meals instead of ready-made meals is much, much, cheaper.
Hotels. Housekeeping is a hard job, but the skills it teaches are worth it. Note: You WILL get fit from this job. You will also have an opportunity for free food if you show up early enough, but personally, hotel food isn't worth it, it's nasty, but that's up to you. Try to go for a hotel that does extended stays, with a fridge, kitchenette, dishwasher, microwave. You will learn how to clean EVERYTHING in your house, no matter how dirty it is. You'll learn to make a bed, properly disinfect a bathroom, use and care for vacuum (trust me, you'll need to learn how to fix your vacuum), and safely handling cleaning chemicals. That one looks good on a resume, too. If you go for the laundry position, you'll learn how to deal with every stain imaginable, more chemical handling, and how to fold stuff. All kinds of towels, fitted sheets, flat sheets, the works. Working at a hotel can also give you free access to a gym and/or pool if they have them. I recommend working at a hotel for 3-5 years to learn everything you can, even if you hop between them. Trust me, hotels are always hiring.
That's all I can think of for now, thanks for reading and good luck out there!

Thank you again to all those who have helped me with my previous posts about my original novel exploring a high school student discovering her asexuality/aromanticism.
I wanted to ask this time about positive experiences. Who was it with, and how did they respond? It doesn't necessarily need to be about coming out. It could be with people who know already, but perhaps it relates to Pride or any conversation or situation that may have come up.
It also doesn't need to be about asexuality or aromanticism specifically. I'd love to hear from anyone who is willing to share.
Thank you in advance. 💜💙💜💙💜

if you can't find a reason to write, write out of spite. I hate love triangles, enemies to lovers, and overall the direction modern fantasy is going, so I'm writing my own book without any of that.
Go write. Just to piss people off, just for fun, just out of spite.
Write the damn book.

Handbook for Mortals by Lani Sarem could have been good. It is a flawed book with just enough nuggets of silver to sift through, and I'm insane enough to try and fix it. Is the result going to be any better? It's all subjective, of course, but with more of an established aesthetic and plot, this could have been something worth reading.
This blog is to catalogue my attempts at rewriting this, as well as an aesthetic blog to keep my inspiration rolling.
More information below the cut.
Things I plan to change:
- Trim out unnecessary repetition
- Diversify the cast
- Remove the Plain White T's (and any other celebrity cameos)
- Give Sofia a personality other than "jealous bitch"
- Give Lil a personality other than "seamstress goth"
- Give other women personalities other than "jealous bitch" or "vapid clothes lover"
- Zade officially has narcissistic personality disorder and is autistic, but neither are diagnosed so she's an oblivious bitch (like I was a couple year ago...). These are both implied by the canon writing, but I doubt it was intentional.
- Mac is also autistic.
- Acknowledging that Dela uses magick as a way to not deal with interpersonal problems, and is a flawed person in general.
- Make it known (to the audience) from the start that Charles is Zade's father instead of making it a stupid reveal towards the end of the book. The other characters don't know this, though.
