Okay I've seen a lot of people asking what's inaccurate about this dress, so let's get into it.
Wuthering Heights was published in 1847, so this is where we're going:

Wedding Dress, 1840, The Cincinnati Art Museum

Wedding Dress, 1844, The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Wedding Dress, 1840, New Canaan Museum & Historical Society

I'm not super well versed in 1830s and 40s fashion BUT the COSTUMES?????
Like a) Ellen rewears her dresses, he outfits are simpler than Anna's even when they are both wearing evening dresses, it such good visual story telling just by that.
B) we see 1 corset and it's a 30's corset, WITH FAN LACING which is super fun and there wasn't any weird anti-corset rhetoric thrown in for no reason
C) on the coat Thomas wears while traveling to orlocks castle, the collar is top stitched with a running stitch, by hand (in love with that detail)
D) HAIR WAS UP OMG PPL HAD THEIR HAIR UP
E) i love that the dresses weren't solidly high fashion 30s or high fashion 40s, there was a lot of overlap in the design. Like a 40s style dress but the sleeves were still 30s. Even the detail that the evening gowns were solidly 30s was nice, cuz Ellen would've had 1 nice dress and it would've been starting to go out of fashion
F)even the men's suits varied between 30s and 40s. I believe a few of the older men had more regency style coats, which was a very cool touch, still wearing the same jacket from 20 years ago
I just, the costumes were so good

1850s english manor - historically accurate
Hi! Here's the build I've been working on for the past two weeks. I've made plenty of homes for working-class and somewhat well-off folks, but I hadn't shared a mansion yet, so I was really excited to get this one done. It took me a lot of effort, and I had to cut back on the CC usage and simplify the interiors so Tray Importer wouldn’t crash when exporting the CC.
Anyway! This grand house features a beautiful garden, an entrance hall worthy of a mansion, and a library-living room that leads to the drawing room and dining room.
There are two full floors of bedrooms and bathrooms. The master bedroom is on the top floor and is split into two with a small hallway in between, so the lords of the house can sleep in their respective beds as tradition demands.
There’s also a nursery and a room for toddlers. The mansion boasts a large greenhouse and a full floor dedicated to the staff, where you'll find the kitchens and the servants’ quarters.
