On one hand, yes. You can imagine these things.
LARP groups are awesome, and ‘so I can defeat my enemies!!’ is a great reason to stay fit.
And if someone could put the names of those super fun warrior routines designed around those adventures somewhere instead of just angrily saying ‘that exists in a form that I have but will not share’, that’d be amazing.
But wouldn’t LARPing be more fun if you could train with a team? Spar your enemies to build off of one another’s skills?
It’d be so fun to play DND with people instead of figurines, with each person given a ‘start objective’ at the beginning and your stats based on how often you’ve come to the gym and what your gains have been. Giant foam dice for a boss battle. Maybe have a starting class, and you can have ‘weapons’ that have particular ‘effects’. You don’t have to get your objective, personally I would just mess around and try to make other peoples tasks harder. Maybe that’d be a common objective for a chaotic neutral person!!!
That’s something I used my creativity for. That right there. Don’t discredit it just because you use your creativity in a different way to make exercise easier for you.
The only reasons I enjoy exercising is because the experience itself is already fun(swim for me) and I can do it with friends(plenty of whom don’t have the schedule space or interest). That’s only accessible during part of the year for me. And the other thing I do for exercise?
Musical theatre. I work up a sweat. I get sore running around, avoiding getting stepped on by the Giant(who is in stilts-a creativity aid) in what my school is currently working on (Robert & Hammerstein’s Cinderella). I’m a fit person, but I’m shorter than all the other guys who have one of my choreographed parts, so I have to jump in order to keep up with their cadence. Soon we’ll be in fantastic costumes built to work with what we need to do for the show. Those lifts take a good range of movement and upper body strength. Last year in Newsies I was the kid who clambered up outside of the staircases to dangle in unsafe positions. We have to be fit enough for our roles, and a lot of times rehearsal actually provides that exercise if we don’t already have the skills or exercise outside of it. they will not tell you to do lifts if you don’t have the strength. But they will help you maintain the strength if you can’t fit it into your schedule outside of rehearsals.
It’s fun. We have sets. We have costumes. We’ve got assigned props and roles(never touch another man’s prop). We’ve sure as hell got a story to tell and to follow.
And we use our imaginations. But it’s MORE fun this way. It’s MORE convincing, for both ourselves and the audience.
Let other people have fun in their lives. We want whimsy and it’s not gonna hurt you if we have it. It’s not gonna hurt us either. It’s actually going to make it easier for us to take care of ourselves.
Just because you have a workaround that you enjoy doesn’t mean it’ll work for us. And if this is more fun for the people who use it? Don’t turn into the people who make fun of role players just because they have a different set up than you.
We’re allowed to want to have fun in a different way than you.
I think there should be nerdy gyms and I’m not even joking about that.

Random Plot Points
A little about me as a writer, I love daydreaming about adventure stories. I usually know the general set up and larger plot points but oftentimes struggle with the how, how do characters get from point A to point B.
So, I made a list of random challenges for my characters that I look at when I'm stuck.
Sharing in case helpful to others! (intended for adventure, sci-fi, fantasy stories)
characters are delayed/blocked/experience a natural disaster (storm, fire, flood, avalanche, earthquake, epidemic, etc) (BONUS and forced to take a detour from the original path)
character(s) is trapped (quick sand, fall through ice, in room filling with poison, on sinking ship, in a trash compactor on the Death Star, etc) (BONUS- fall into hidden room and discover something)
characters go to a festival/ball/party/political summit (where inevitably it all goes wrong)
character(s) overhears a secret (at bar, at party, from a whispered conversation below them in a stairway, etc)
characters are attacked by an animal or mysterious force
characters(s) caught in a mob/riot
character wins/loses something in a bet
character is brainwashed or possessed
character is stranded/lost
character is poisoned
character succumbs to injury or illness
characters are chased/ attacked by antagonists
character is captured or arrested (and needs to be rescued)
character is kidnapped and kidnappers make a demand for their release (financial ransom, exchange of information, prisoner exchange, etc)
character(s) go undercover to retrieve information
characters decide to steal something they need for their quest (weapon, magical object, money, information, etc). (BONUS- time for a well-planned heist!)
characters need to protect/ retrieve/ destroy something
characters uncover a network of spies (up to you if they're unexpected allies or antagonists)
characters discover hidden passageway, room, ruins etc that leads to an important clue
characters forced to hide from someone/something
characters need to escape
characters lured into trap set by villain (BONUS if the villain doesn't even care who wins but only goaded them to learn how a magical object works, the extent of heroes powers, emergency response system of a government, etc)
characters set trap for villain (BONUS- use someone or something important as bait) (if in Act 2, they fail)
characters reveal critical information to villain in disguise
a character is mistaken for someone else (and then is wrongfully arrested, receives information not intended for them, etc)
characters receive help (hitch a ride, get help hiding from captors, get help escaping somewhere, etc) from an unlikely new ally
characters forced to team up with an unlikely ally/ morally grey character, etc
characters learn something from simple library research (an oldie but a goodie)
characters just literally just stumble upon or witness something important (secret weapon, secret society etc)
characters uncover a secret map/ coded message on the back of an old unassuming document (time for a classic treasure hunt!)
someone escapes from prison (an old villain or an old ally) that changes the quest
someone is being blackmailed (or otherwise forced to act against the protagonists)
someone is discredited (rumor, disinformation campaign etc)
something stolen from your characters
something (document, magical object, money) turns out to be fake
OR, something unassuming turns out to have special powers or meaning
something is hacked (defense system, infrastructure, bank, private records, etc)
something critical is attacked (important bridge, port, bank/ financial system, safehouse, capitol building, character's familial home, etc.)
a computer virus is unleashed
a biological weapon is unleashed
a piece of information the characters believed was true, is false
an ancient myth turns out to be true
a secret is made public
A law is changed or a vote on a critical piece of legislation loses/wins
a political opponent wins an election/ a political ally loses an election
character(s) help a passerby (from raiders, local tyrant, beast, mystical force, etc)
characters "follow the money" and realize someone who was thought to be their ally is actually working for... (crime syndicate, villain, local tyrant etc)

Pile 1
Your date with them
As you enter the escape room venue, the excitement is palpable. The lobby is buzzing with chatter and anticipation. You're grinning from ear to ear, eager to tackle the challenge ahead. Meanwhile, your future spouse's smile is a bit more hesitant, their eyes darting around the room nervously. The staff explains the rules, and you're all in. You can't wait to get started, but you notice your partner's grip on your hand tightens slightly as you step into the dimly lit, mysterious room. It's a themed room, perhaps a haunted mansion or a creepy laboratory, and the ambiance is spot-on. You dive right into the puzzles, searching for clues and solving riddles. Your adrenaline is pumping, and you're loving every minute of it. You're the one encouraging your partner, reassuring them that it's all in good fun, even though their heart might be racing a bit faster. As you progress through the room, you notice your partner's apprehension slowly giving way to curiosity. They start to engage more, tentatively offering suggestions and helping to crack the codes. It's a real team effort. The tension rises, and there are moments when your partner jumps at unexpected sounds or shadows. You can't help but chuckle and give them a reassuring pat on the back. But deep down, you appreciate their willingness to step out of their comfort zone for this date. Finally, as the clock counts down, you solve the last puzzle and unlock the door to freedom. Your partner lets out a sigh of relief, but there's also a sense of accomplishment in their eyes. You may have been the excited one at the start, but you both share a unique bond now, a thrilling adventure that pushed your partner's boundaries and brought you closer together. Afterwards, over a cozy dinner, you talk about the unforgettable experience, and you can't help but admire your partner's courage and how they conquered their initial fears. It's a date filled with excitement, laughter, and a touch of fear, making it a memorable adventure that you both won't soon forget.
(They seem strong but they aren't, they're like a kid)
Pile 2
Your date with them
You're getting ready for a date night. You're feeling excited as you put the finishing touches on your makeup and slip into that little black dress that always makes you feel confident. Your heart flutters with anticipation as you hear a car pull up outside your house. You head to the front door, and there they are, standing tall and handsome, a bouquet of your favorite flowers in their hand and a charming smile on their face. They're dressed in a crisp button-down shirt and slacks, looking like they just stepped out of a romantic movie. As you step out, they compliment you, saying how stunning you look, and offer you the bouquet. Blushing, you thank them and feel like you're on cloud nine. They open the car door for you, a small gesture that makes you feel cherished, and you slip into the passenger seat. As you drive to the restaurant, they engage you in easy conversation, asking about your day and sharing funny stories from their own. The radio plays your favorite song, and they turn it up, making you smile as you both sing along. Arriving at the restaurant, they park the car and come around to open your door once again. Inside, the ambiance is warm and inviting, with soft candlelight and soft music playing in the background. They pull out your chair and wait for you to sit down before taking their own seat. Throughout the evening, they're attentive, making sure your glass is never empty and making you laugh with their witty jokes. As you savor a delicious meal together, time seems to fly by. After dinner, they suggest taking a stroll along a nearby park, hand in hand. You agree, enjoying the gentle breeze and the sound of your footsteps on the pavement. It's a simple, perfect moment that feels like it's straight out of a romance novel. As they walk you back to your doorstep, they lean in for a goodnight kiss, and you can't help but feel that this date has been absolutely magical. You say goodnight with a flutter in your heart, looking forward to the next time you'll see them.
(Their love language is quality time)
Pile 3
Your date with them
Life had been a whirlwind lately, with work deadlines and daily routines taking up most of your time. You and your partner missed the creative spark that had initially brought you together. So, one evening, you both decided to rekindle that artistic flame by signing up for an art class. The day arrives, and you find yourselves standing outside the cozy art studio. Your heartbeats quicken with a mix of nervousness and excitement. You exchange reassuring glances and step inside. The studio is filled with the smell of paint and the soft hum of background music. Canvases, easels, and an array of colorful paints await your creative touch. The instructor, a friendly and patient artist, welcomes you warmly. Their passion for art is contagious, putting you at ease. They explain the basics and guide you through the first steps, showing you how to mix colors and handle brushes. Your partner's laughter rings out as they accidentally squeeze too much paint onto their palette, and you join in, breaking the initial tension. As the class progresses, you both dive into the process, getting lost in the strokes and colors. You sneak peeks at your partner's canvas, amazed at how their unique style starts to emerge. They experiment with bold, vibrant hues, while you focus on capturing subtle details. You realize that art isn't just about creating pictures; it's about expressing yourselves and seeing the world through each other's eyes. Amidst the creative chaos, you share tips and encouragement, celebrating the small victories like getting a difficult shading just right or mixing the perfect shade of blue. It's a journey of self-discovery and connection as you explore the depths of your creativity together. As the class comes to an end, you step back to admire your masterpieces. They may not be perfect, but they're a testament to the fun and growth you've experienced together. Walking out of the studio hand in hand, you both feel a newfound love for art and, most importantly, a deep sense of reconnection that will stay with you long after the paint has dried.
(You may meet them from work)
Pile 4
Your date with them
You and your future have been planning a cozy movie date night for a while. It's a crisp autumn evening, and the two of you decide to make the most of it. You both snuggle up on the couch, surrounded by soft blankets and a sea of comfy pillows. You're excited because tonight's movie is your choice, and you've been raving about it for weeks. You can't help but feel a little thrill of anticipation as you press play. The room darkens, and the opening credits roll, and your partner wraps an arm around you, pulling you close. As the movie unfolds, you steal glances at each other during the funny parts, sharing those quiet giggles and inside jokes that only you two understand. When the plot takes an unexpected twist, you gasp in unison, and your hands instinctively find each other, fingers entwined. Halfway through, you take a break to raid the snack stash you prepared earlier. Popcorn, candy, and maybe even some chocolate-covered strawberries , it's a treat-yourself kind of night. You feed each other bites of popcorn, laughing when a kernel accidentally flies across the room. The movie's climax has you both on the edge of your seats, hearts pounding. You exchange knowing looks, silently rooting for the hero to prevail. The tension builds, and you find yourself clutching their hand a little tighter. By the time the credits roll, you're both emotionally invested and thoroughly entertained. You turn to your future spouse, eyes still sparkling from the movie's magic, and share a loving smile. It's moments like these, simple yet intimate, that make your relationship so special. With the movie date over, you decide to stay cuddled on the couch for a while longer, relishing in the warmth of each other's company. As you both drift off to sleep, you can't help but feel grateful for these cherished moments together, and you look forward to many more movie nights in your future.

Now that BvZ6 is FINALLY out…I am pleased to announce the halfway mark for Gen 3!
We have 3 eps left for Pandora and Birds of Valhalla and 6 eps left for Bastards vs Zombies! With all that out there, I'm sure a few of you are wondering what Gen 4 is looking like!
Originally, the plan was for Gen 4 to have 3 series, like this gen. Each one with a recognizable face from prior gens, barring Gen 1.
However, this has proved to be a source adding to my burnout in previous instances, being constantly stuck in 3 or 4 voices constantly. So, I've changed things up a bit! Instead for Gen 4, I'll be doing 6 series! First will be a new series with brand new characters, then I'll go back to a classic after that one is done and I'll continue that pattern until completion!
On paper, it sounds like I'm giving myself more work, and I might be, but remember that I'm not giving myself any time limit on this. Each series is ultimately its own thing and I'll be working on them all at my own pace.
Here's the order of things and series descriptions. (Some of these are working titles)
Gladiator Azul - 8 combatants, (me and 7 other VAs) will compete in a 1v1 tournament to the death in order to be granted a wish. The location is the planet Palta, which is a location a few of my lore nerds will pick up on~ The best part about this story, is that it's a complete mystery, even to me, who's going to win! It's completely decided by chance, but a chance influenced by the viewers through cryptic clues~
Magic of the Heart 2: Curse of Khan (This was Blind Snake. I didn't like the name) - You are a Lamia, the remnants of the Snake Titan's soul. You've been brought into this world by your beloved lord, Nosferatu. One day, he tasks you to become a double agent by staging an escape for you and a captured wizard that you might be quite familiar with. When you and Zed "escape" from Nosferatu, you must make a decision, betray Nosferatu, or betray Zed…
Dragonslayers - You are the squire to the most esteemed Knight under the Paladin King. The Knight Grand Champion, Sirius Gearfried. You've gone on adventures together for 5 years now and you're about to go on your biggest one yet! The Paladin King has tasked his most trusted knight with gathering up the strongest warriors from across the realm for a dangerous mission into the unknown reaches of Dragonspace!
Loki and the War of Sinn - More will be talked about this at a later date, but before you ask, yes it's gonna have Odin and Tyr. And yes, you will be Loki.
Alchemical Strawberry Cheesecake - We now go BACK to Manas for a bit of magical melodrama! You are entered into a cooking competition at Saurethol Academy! You're partnered up with a boy named Vemmy, who thought this extra-curricular would be an easy A. Now, he's in a high-stakes contest, travelling to different schools all over the world and is VERY in over his head…
Bastards vs Monsters - A couple of years have gone by. The threats have gotten more dangerous, but so have you.

Butterflies - TADC Showtime Oneshot
A/N: Because I love the idea of Pomni being in denial and Caine unintentionally making it worse (better)
It was no secret that Caine was, by far, the most oblivious entity in the entire circus. And yet, even he was aware of just how much Pomni had been avoiding him lately. If she was trying to keep it from being so obvious, she was certainly doing a poor job of it.
Emotions were still a bit of a foreign concept to Caine. He experienced them, despite the fact that he probably shouldn't. But he still had a difficult time labeling them. The best he could do was observe how the others acted and make an educated guess. Nonetheless, if his time spent with Pomni had taught him anything about emotions, he suspected he was feeling...concerned.
He had spent the past few days piecing together an adventure perfectly suited for Pomni. He made sure to add all the details she told him she liked from the real world, all the things she missed, everything he had stored in her memory. This morning, he was announcing it with every ounce of energy he had in his system, looking Pomni in the eye in the hopes to impress her. His code fluttered at the idea of her praise.
"...and, it's up to you to piece this mystic mystery together!" Caine finished his introduction of today's adventure. Pomni said one time that she was interested in the mystery genre back at home, as it gave her a challenge to think of and piece together. Like a puzzle, she had said. She liked those. He glanced at Pomni subtly, hoping he had her attention.
"Huh. Intersting. My money's on Zooble being the culprit," Jax crossed his arms, flashing his signature yellow grin.
"It's not even a murder mystery, you jack[#$%!]," Zooble grumbled in response.
"Heh. We'll see about that."
"Well, this sounds like a good one! Piecing together clues, solving puzzles, what do you think, Pomni?" Ragatha asked the woman next to her, swinging her plush arms.
Her eyes were glued to the floor. "Oh...um, think I'm gonna sit this one out..." Pomni said meekly, tightening her own grip on her arm as thought it would bring her comfort.
Caine's arms drooped, hanging sadly by his sides as his cane clinked to the stage's floor. "You...don't?"
Pomni shifted uncomfortably. "I'm sorry, maybe next time..."
Caine flew by her side, hoping to get a glimpse of her face. "But my dear, you've been saying that for the past four adventures."
"Yeah? Well, maybe I'm uh, sick or something. I don't know. Not feeling my best," Pomni excused herself, coughing lightly in an utterly unconvincing manner.
Caine placed a finger on his lower jaw in thought. "Sick? That shouldn't happen in the digital circus. Unless you have some sort of bug or glitch. I can run some tests if you'd like--!"
"Oh! No thanks, I think I just need to rest," Pomni swung her foot awkwardly, refusing to meet his eyes.
“Pomni? Are you sure you’ve been feeling okay lately?” Ragatha asked with a concerned frown.
Pomni blushed ever so slightly at the stares of the other circus members. “Yeah, I’m fine! Don’t worry about it. I’m just gonna head to my room now to uh, rest…”
“Oh, okay. Well uh, catch you after the adventure!” Ragatha called as Pomni hurried away.
Zooble watched her grow, crossing their arms. “Huh. What’s been her deal lately?”
“Someone’s got a secret,” Jax smiled mischievously.
“Or she’s just tired,” Gangle suggested shyly.
“Not very likely,” Ragatha replied.
“Did someone say something about a butterfly?” Kinger peeked out of his impenetrable fortress.
If Caine had a heart, it would have broken into pieces at the sight of Pomni scurrying away from him. It took all the energy he had left in his coding to remain enthusiastic for the others. “Well, that leaves the rest of you. There you go, and have fun my darling detectives!”
He ushered them off into the portal quickly before dusting off his suit and snapping himself in front of Pomni’s door…
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
She couldn't escape his eyes.
And she loved and hated it.
His gaze made her shiver, formerly from being unnerved but these days, that sensation was met with a thumping heart and fluttering stomach. Sometimes, she swore the eyes in the circus's paintings would follow her ever so slightly, staring when she wasn't looking then flicking back into position when she turned to glance. The idea of him looking at her in that way made her face flush.
Conscious of the dozens of eyes in the hall, she felt herself blush to the tips of her ears. As quickly as she could escape her fluster, she shut the door of her room behind her and crashed on her bed, sighing in relief at the privacy.
What the hell was wrong with her these days? How was a pair of teeth and eyes--a computer--making her feel like this? Her captor? She grumbled nonsense into her pillow, feeling her face flush at the thought of him. The idea of his touch, the way he looked at her so curiously sometimes—it made her tingle to the tips of her toes.
Oh, God, she felt sick with anxiety. She couldn't possibly have a crush on him, right? It had to be all psychological. It was all in her head, and once she stopped thinking of it she'd certainly be back to normal.
But even so, she couldn't help but hide out in her room these past days, avoiding being seen blushing or tripping over her words around him. He was oblivious and likely wouldn't catch on, but it would still be rather awkward to explain--God forbid the others find out about it, especially Jax. She would never live it down.
Pomni held the ends of her pillow tighter against her face as though it would squeeze the confusing thoughts and feelings from her mind. He made it so much worse today. His adventure was finely tuned to her interests, something he had clearly remembered from their many conversations about her life in the real world--well, what she could remember, that is. It was endearing, it was charming, and sweet, and It had even made her heart flutter--she couldn't do it. She couldn't let herself fall apart in front of any of them.
It was just a small crush. She'd get over it in a day or so, and then things would be entirely back to normal. Pomni took a deep breath, repeating that idea in her head.
Her head was pounding from these thoughts--or, no, that was the sound of her door. She groaned, peeking up out of her pillow at the noise.
"Pomni? May I come in?"
Pomni's stomach dropped at the sound of Caine's voice behind the door. Butterflies fluttered in her stomach, her heart suddenly thumping from the anxiety. "Uhh--maybe later! I kind of just need to rest right now--"
"I'm aware, dear. Just give me a moment of your time. Please?"
Pomni stopped in her tracks. He usually was energetic and boisterous but now, he was talking almost normal. He almost sounded sad. Her heart ached with guilt. "Um, okay..."
She begrudgingly climbed out of her bed, smoothing her clothes and taking a deep breath before opening the door. Sure enough, Caine stood there, fidgeting with his cane in his hands. His eyes brightened ever so slightly at the sight of her peeking from behind her open door. "Ah, there's my star! How are you, dear? Feeling any better?"
"Oh, hah. Yeah..." she couldn't think of what else to say, feeling at her hat for no reason in particular.
"Anyways, the others are off on the adventure, so I figured you and I could spend some time together! No one else, just us for the day," Caine beamed proudly at his idea.
Pomni's heart immediately started racing, a flush already traveling its way to her cheeks. God, she had it bad for him. This was humiliating. "Just...us?" she squeaked.
Caine looked at the floor sheepishly. "Well, ah, admittedly I couldn't help but notice some...behavioral changes in you these past days. So, I figured what better way to get you right back to normal than to spend some quality time with your ringmaster!" He perked up proudly at this, flying to her side and placing an arm around her.
Pomni froze at his touch, praying he couldn't feel the way her heart was beating so firmly against her chest. "O-oh, um...that's a great idea, Caine, but--"
He gripped her shoulders. "Isn't it? I just knew you'd like it!"
Pomni tried to avoid his eyes, but with him gazing so intensely at her in front of her, it was sort of hard to do. "Y-yeah, but...honestly, Caine, I think I just want to do something more, I don't know, not stressful?" she tripped up on her words, trying to get some excuse out.
"Not stressful? Why, I have the perfect idea in mind!" Caine said proudly, snapping his fingers without another word from Pomni. She tensed from the unpleasant sensation of traveling through the digital plane so unnaturally. "Here we are!"
Pomni opened her eyes and immediately flushed at the sight before her. It was a secluded area of the digital forest, dotted with colorful flowers and petals resting delicately on the grass. Everything lacked in detail, yet somehow, the way the digital sunlight was streaming in, lighting the path ahead made it feel...intimate, somehow.
Caine floated down until he touched the ground. He took a few steps experimentally, adjusting to walking rather than flying. He did walk, he just preferred not to. But this time was a special occasion. He turned back to Pomni, holding out his gloved hand.
Pomni froze. Did he want to hold her hand? Was he just inviting her to join him? Or maybe both? Hesitantly, she reached the tips of her fingers out, just barely grazing over his glove and making the contact she was so afraid of. Caine, however, wasted no time as he slid his hand beneath hers and grabbed her whole hand in his, pulling her to his side.
Pomni nearly tripped, not expecting him to pull her forward. Before she could even react to his hand holding onto hers, he let go as they began to walk. She bit her lip, not sure how to begin the conversation.
"This is, uh, a new map?" Pomni asked meekly.
"Nonsense! It's part of the digital forest. I just added a few extra details," Caine explained, reaching out and picking a flower as proof. He held it out to her. "For you, dear."
Her heart skipped a beat. Did he know what he was doing to her? Was he trying to make her flustered? Even so, she took the flower in her hands, careful not to make contact with his hand. "...thanks," was all she could say.
Caine nodded, and for a moment all was quiet as they walked down the sunlit pathway. "I...can't help but notice that you haven't been participating in the adventures lately."
Pomni held back a sigh. She knew there was no avoiding this topic, but she still resented the fact that he brought it up. "Mhm."
"...Why is that? If I may ask."
Pomni twisted the flower's stem in her hands, looking at how the flower lacked proper rendering or detail. "Just haven't been feeling up to it," she murmured.
"In what way?"
Pomni blinked. "I-I don't know, Caine. I just haven't."
She still wasn't meeting his gaze, so he tilted his head so he was in her field of vision. She blushed and looked to the side, hoping he wouldn't move to her other side.
"Hm. Perhaps the others were right," Caine said thoughtfully, holding his cane in his hands.
Pomni internally panicked. Oh, God, they weren't telling him she had feelings for him, were they? "The others were right? How?" she asked, hoping her nerves weren't showing.
If Caine could blush, he surely would have by now. He lowered his gaze to the grass as the continued walking. "Oh...well...they've been saying that you're...avoiding me," he said sheepishly, before piping up, "I-I'm sure that they were jumping to conclusions but--"
Pomni squeezed her eyes shut. "It's fine, Caine."
Caine fidgeted with his cane again. "I have to admit, darling, I've missed our lessons."
Pomni smiled half-heartedly. Their 'lessons' as he called them, were simple conversations about the real world. To him, he considered them lessons on the human mind. But to her, it gave her someone to talk to. "I have, too," she admitted.
Caine didn't say anything for a moment, likely storing her saying she had missed him to his memory. "Then, dear, why haven't we seen much of each other?" He hesitated, then, "...have you been avoiding me?"
Pomni felt sick. She couldn't possibly lie to him in good conscience. "...yes."
Caine's colors seemed to lose their saturation, shoulders sinking at her confession. "I...I see," he mustered, voice laced with heartbreak.
Pomni turned to look at him for the first time today, her heart sinking at the sight of his shoulders slumped, eyes faced downwards. From his perspective, she had been avoiding him for no reason. His first real friend, leaving him behind. Guilt hit her like a truck. "Oh, Caine, no. No, I-it's not like that, really," she tripped over her words, trying to make him feel better because the sight of him sad was so damn depressing.
"I've...often been told I'm annoying the others. If that was the case here, I don't blame you for taking space," he replied quietly.
Pomni bit her lip. Looking to her side, she saw a red flower in the same shade of his suit. She picked it before stepping in front of him, leaning down into his field of vision the same way he had done for her. He stopped walking.
"Caine...I wasn't avoiding you because of you. You didn't do anything wrong, okay? I-It was all me," Pomni reassured.
Caine glanced up. "I...didn't do anything wrong?"
Pomni shook her head. "I promise."
Caine considered her words for a moment.
"I...I really, really like our time together, Caine. You don't bother me, I like when you're around. You're my...friend," Pomni added, smiling softly at him.
His eyes met hers for the first time today, sending butterflies fluttering in Pomni's stomach. "Really?"
Pomni held out the flower further. "Really. I mean it, Caine."
Color gradually returned to his form, a smile forming across his teeth. "Oh, dear..." he looked at the flower, clearly touched by the gift. He never received gifts from the others, so this...this was something special.
He met her eyes again and reached out for the flower, but decided to take it a step further. His hand slid around hers, cupping the hand that was holding the flower out to him. Pomni's breath hitched, her pupils dilating as he gazed into her eyes lovingly.
"My dear Pomni," was all he said, for he was too touched by her words to say anything else.
The butterflies fluttered in Pomni's stomach more than ever. She shivered slightly at the sound of his voice, so laced with emotion when he said her name, calling her his, looking at her so lovingly--
Caine snapped out of his daze at the sight of her shivering. He nearly snapped his fingers to help her feel warmer, but he suddenly recalled something she had told him one night. Wearing others clothes was a sign of intimacy, whatever that meant--all he knew is this felt pretty intimate. He shrugged off his coat and wrapped it around her instead. "I can't let you get any more sick, now can I?" he winked at her, referencing her poor excuse for her absence earlier.
Pomni blushed to the tips of her ears when he winked at her. They were in the middle of a sunlit path, gazing into each others' eyes, gifting each other flowers, and now she was wearing his coat--God, it was almost like he was trying to make her blush. She suddenly felt very hot, simultaneously wanting to take off his coat to cool down but, shamefully, also never wanting to take it off.
"Heh, yeah..." was all she could say, because if she said anything else she was sure he'd notice the tremble in her voice.
He smiled at her adorable reaction. "I must say, it suits you quite well, my dear. You could almost challenge my position as ringmaster!"
If she could blush anymore, she certainly did from his compliment. It almost made her laugh, how much he was making her feel tingly and fluttery without even trying. "Maybe I will," she teased.
Caine had to resist flying in the air from happiness. She was acting back to normal with him--albeit a bit shyer than usual, but no matter--and he loved it. "Ah ah ah, careful, dear. If you're coming for my job then I have to warn you, I was coded to be this charming."
Pomni giggled at his comment. "Really? You'd be surprised, I can put on quite the show."
"I won't believe it until I see it," Caine challenged.
"Hah, you will. And when you do, you'll have to wear this hat and I'll wear yours."
Caine looked at her in thought, smiling at the way she looked in his coat. "Really? Me in a jester hat? And you in mine? I'd like to see it," he said, but he wasn't sure If he was talking about the show anymore.
Pomni grinned at the idea, the image itself quite funny yet also endearing.
"Well, if that challenge is all settled, how about we finish our walk through the grounds?" Caine offered, gesturing to the path ahead.
Pomni allowed herself to touch the collar of the jacket, tightening it around herself. "Uh-huh," she said, her confidence gradually returning.
"Fantastic!" Caine's feet nearly floated above the ground from how thrilled he was that they were on good terms again. They continued their walk through the grounds, nearing the end of the digital forest and catching a glimpse of the nearby carnival.
They stopped at the edge of the lake where Pomni glanced subtly at her reflection. In the back of her mind, she knew she was doing it to make sure she didn’t look silly in front of Caine. She was well aware of his gaze now. It could burn a hole right through her.
The sight of her wearing Caine’s coat made her blush, somehow both embarrassed and pleased. On one hand, wearing his coat seemed like a big jump when she was still adjusting to her strong feelings. On the other hand…it felt nice to be wrapped in something of his. Her stomach fluttered again at the thought, emotions so strong she almost felt sick.
Caine carefully approached her. “If I may ask, darling,” he began, fiddling with his cane again behind his back, “if I didn’t do anything to scare you off, then why were you avoiding me?”
Pomni snapped out of her thoughts. “Oh, um…I don’t know…” she rushed to think of an explanation. A half-truth, maybe. Something that wasn’t a lie or a confession. She definitely wasn’t ready for that yet—she was barely able to accept she even had feelings to begin with.
Caine blinked curiously at her, awaiting her response. “You don’t know?”
Pomni’s heart thumped in her chest. “Oh, no—I mean well, I do know, i-it’s not that I don’t, but, it’s sort of hard to explain, you know? Personal stuff. Just been uh, busy in my thoughts, heh…” she sputtered out nonsense, shrinking in embarrassment at how visibly flustered she was becoming.
Caine tilted his head curiously. “My dear, are you feeling alright? You seem a bit out of sorts.”
Oh, God. He noticed. She knew she was hiding from him for a reason. “Huh? O-oh, that? It’s nothing, really Caine, I mean I feel okay. I feel fine. I had a reason for avoiding you, and it wasn’t because you did something wrong, but…”
She met his gaze as she trailed off, blushing at the sight of his curious eyes on her, waiting patiently for a response. Her breath caught in her throat. God, did she really like him that much? That all her thoughts just froze in time like that?
“Well, I…” she sighed, taking another deep breath before continuing, “I…have been thinking. About you. N-not in a weird way, just…contemplating things.”
“You’ve been thinking about me? Pomni, I was thinking about you! Isn’t that fantastic?” Caine piped up, floating a bit in the air as he spoke up.
“Huh? Oh, yeah. But I mean…not like that. I was just worried. About things being weird. Things changing,” Pomni admitted, feeling the heat return in her face as she confessed.
Caine grabbed Pomni’s hands lightly to comfort her. “How would things change?”
Her heart sped up at his touch. “I-I…I just know we’re getting closer. And sometimes, for humans, that can be scary,” Pomni tried to explain. Her heart was beating rapidly, butterflies still fluttering around in her stomach nervously. Admittedly, she was scared—her feelings were growing stronger now that she was spending time with him, not going away like she had hoped. She was terrified, even.
Caine pulled out a comically small notebook and large pencil, allegedly writing down what she said. “I see, I see. And humans feel fear when they form bonds with others because…?”
Pomni clutched her arm, looking down at the lake again in thought. She thought about the way he had wrapped the coat around her so gently, how it looked on her shoulders knowing it was normally around his, and she sighed feeling herself heart beating again. “Because it makes you vulnerable. To getting hurt. Losing someone, embarrassing yourself…you know…”
Caine nodded as he jotted down what she said before the notebook and pencil disappeared in a poof. “Is that what you’re afraid of, Pomni?” he asked gently.
Pomni’s eyes widened at the question. “Um, yeah…I think so.”
“So, you avoided me because we’ve become friends, and that scared you because it could lead to losing me or embarrassing yourself. Do I have that correct?”
Pomni hesitated. She couldn’t exactly say the truth. Well, what it really is is that I have suddenly developed strong romantic feelings for you and I didn’t want to admit it or let it grow but now I can’t deny it and am afraid of letting it show in front of you or the others and ultimately humiliating myself.
“Pomni…?”
What? Oh, yes.” Pomni snapped out of her thoughts.
Caine’s hold on her hands grew slightly tighter. “Dear, I could never hate you. Or leave you. Or even make fun of you, for whatever reason that may be. Every moment I spend with you is another opportunity for me to become even more advanced, and to understand you better. How could I ever judge?”
Pomni laughed half-heartedly. “Yeah…I guess it sounds a bit of a stupid fear when you put it like that.”
“It’s not stupid. It makes sense. And, well…” he placed a finger on his chin in thought, “I think with what you’ve told me, I can guess I’m feeling the same way. In fact, I think that’s why I seemed so worried about having done something to scare you off. Does that sound right? Was I experiencing fear like you?”
Pomni bit her lip. He certainly wasn’t experiencing fear like her, assuming he didn’t suddenly develop a massive crush on her. “Yes,” she said in spite of it all, “that’s a very human thing to feel, Caine.”
Caine lifted off the ground at that, swirling in the air a bit in excitement. “At this rate, I’m becoming more human every day! And it’s all thanks to you, Pomni,” he flew down to her level, pulling the flower he had given her out of his coat pocket.
“That, you are. Heh. Thanks again, Caine,” she smiled, finding his excitement cute. “And um…I’m sorry. For avoiding you these past days? I owe you a lot for all the adventures I missed.”
“All in the past, my dear!” He put an arm around her and brought her close in excitement. “Now how about we enjoy some time at the digital carnival before the others get back! You can tell me allll about your favorite human traditions!”
Pomni giggled again, holding a hand up over her mouth. “Alright, alright. But you’ll have to win some of those games to get information out of me,” she smirked.
“Gasp! Are you suggesting some sort of friendly competition?” Caine placed his hands on his chin in cartoonish shock.
Pomni crossed her arms. “Something like that. Let’s see how much you can get out of me before the others come back.”
Caine laughed. “Oh, dear, you never fail to impress me. Show me what you’ve got, because I must warn you—I am exceptionally talented at carnival games,” he said proudly.
“I’ll believe it when I see it,” Pomni repeated his words from earlier.
Caine spun through the air before grabbing for her hand. “Then let’s not waste any time, dear!”
Pomni returned his grip on her hand, not quite as afraid of the butterflies anymore. “Show me what you’ve got, ringmaster.”
A/N: I wrote like half of this at the same time as taking a test, I kept switching tabs and going between showtime and sociology. the showtime grind is real

Mechanically could the investigators handle a lovecraftian deep dungeon populated by people, people shaped things and monsters? In terms of working out a mystery that leads them deep underground into a mystic complex with some degree of Indiana Jones style traps and riddles.
Not that I have ideas of a mega dungeon and want to convert the idea into something that isn't for dnd
Yes, I think that the Eureka rules could handle that. Searching the environment for evidence of traps is not that different from searching the environment for clues, the biggest hurdle to overcome would probably be the incentive for the investigators to go down there and stay down there in the first place rather than turning right back around. They by-and-large aren't treasure-hunters. But someone they have to rescue, or some way for them to be trapped down there where the mystery then becomes about how to escape, that should work pretty well.
My other piece of advice is one that goes for pretty much any Eureka adventure but especially one that will be structured like a dungeon crawl: Make sure combat is not unavoidable.

Steven Universe told from the perspective of other characters
Garnet: A story of gay empowerment from start to finish. As a book it would be titled either Made of Love or Stronger Than You and feature Garnet's gauntlets with her wedding rings on them as cover art.
Amethyst: A seemingly wacky coming of age story that drops the most heartfelt moments when your guard is down. The cover resembles kids' detective stories, the kind where the whole gang is looking around for clues to the mystery.
Pearl: Everything up to Rose's death is an ancient literary classic titled The Ballad of Rose Quartz, illustrated with intricate inkbrush paintings. Steven Universe season one to three is the kind of introspective life after tragedy novel you pick up to look sophisticated reading. It's probably titled Without Her or something similiar. I don't have a title for season four and onwards, but the blurb is "it's not easy to manage twenty girlfriends, two life partners, a son and a dark past at the same time!" It's much more lighthearted than the previous two, but still prone to punching you in the emotions with little warning.
Connie: A magical adventure series just like the Unfamiliar Familiar! It centers Steven the magical boy with his best friend and eventual love interest Connie as the female lead. The tone gets a little darker after the first book/season, but less so than the original Steven Universe (let alone Steven Universe Future).
Greg: First a coming of age story, but unlike Amethyst this one is about breaking away from toxic people in your life. This story gets its happy ending when Greg finally finds someone he can be himself with in Rose. The time until Rose's death is a romantic comedy titled My Girlfriend, her Girlfriend and Me and conists mostly of shenanigans. After Rose's death and Steven's birth, it turns into something more bittersweet centering Greg's worries about being an adequate father to his magical son.
Peridot: It's titled How I learned to stop worrying and join the Rebellion and is easily the most lighthearted installment here. Our dorky protagonist is very obviously a somewhat unreliable narrator, but in a funny way. She encounters a few struggles, but they are quickly overcome with the power of friendship.
Lapis: This is just multiple whump fics. They're in a collection titled Bad Things Happen Roulette. Steven Universe the Movie is a pretty standard fantasy adventure with a group of powerful heroes though, and Steven Universe Future is the fluff fic with a smidge of angst you'd read as a pick me up after Bad Things Happen Roulette.
Bismuth: The war is a good vs evil sci-fi story with lots of social commentary. The Diamonds are definitely irredeemable here. I don't know what to do with the few episodes of the original Steven Universe she was in, but the movie is an empowerment narrative against systemic oppression titled Still Standing, or something in that style. Steven Universe Future however is a romantic comedy.
Rose: This is just a straight (well, bi) up tragedy. Our protagonist desperately tries to recover from her childhood trauma and be a good person, but is ultimately unable to escape the prison of her own mind. The book wins several literature prizes, but very few people actually read it because it's just too depressing.

Daomu Biji Watcher’s Guide, May 2024
A few new entries have been popping up lately, and I’m always hopeful new fans will stumble into the pits and never leave so I thought I’d paste up a rough map.
(Obviously the best watching order, like the best reading order of Discworld or the Aubrey-Maturin books, is ‘whatever first comes to your hand’ but for the people who don’t like that…)
tl;dr:
Daomu Biji is a series about tomb raiding. Think Indiana Jones or Lara Croft but much, much longer. The protagonist Wu Xie is deeply in love with BFF1 Zhang Qiling, a hundred-year-old cryptid, and BFF2 Wang Pangzi, who was stolen in a raid from another book series. It’s comic, tragic, horrific, zany, prone to musings on life, love, desire, attachment, and has many, many piss jokes. (‘Journey to the West but modern’ is maybe the other comparison I’d make.)
Notes:
– This guide is not talking about “quality”. All of the adaptations have their own strengths and weaknesses and tone can vary a great deal, which is to say, if one of them doesn’t suit you it’s likely something else will.
– Wacky endings, and plot threads that disappear unfinished and get picked up a long time later, are as inherent to the franchise as the piss jokes.
– It’s common for the dramas to introduce characters and subplots a lot earlier than the books do. Sometimes we’ll see a character introduced ‘for the first time’ on multiple occasions and strangely familiar scenes. I’ll try to point out the biggest continuity clashes as I go.
The Soft Entry:
There are a few movies that are entertaining as standalones but will introduce various characters and background. I would recommend:
Escape from the Monstrous Snake + Mystery/Grave of the Abyss – two monster movies featuring Hei Xiazi, a supporting character. He’s a pragmatical mercenary who’s going blind in kind of a weird way, and goofy as hell when he isn’t tiptoeing over a vast abyss of existential dread. So many fun action scenes.
Time Raiders (2015) – so there are some textual clues that late in his career Wu Xie wrote this story as a memory-jogger for an amnesiac friend. The plot is a freewheeling wild ride which doesn’t directly match any book plot but introduces some major characters and how they relate to each other. It’s colourful and fast-moving. Enjoy, enjoy.
Conjuring Curse and Misty Creed are… theoretically set late in the series even if the actors look about twelve. Both work as stand-alone adventures, though Misty Creed is maybe a little deep in the lore. Again, colourful and fast-moving.
The Chronological Order
You could honestly start with most of these – they tend to come with a ‘what has gone before’ at the start or a newbie character that things get explained to. The only one I wouldn’t start with is Heavenly Palace in the Clouds, which is lovely but also the second half of a set and things won’t make sense if you haven’t seen Lost Tomb 2 first.
Lost Tomb 1 – a highly digestible 10-12 episode version of the Seven Star Lu Palace arc, ie. Baby’s First Adventure. Introduces A-Ning, Xie Yuchen, and Huo Xiuxiu early and a couple of og characters for Wu Xie to talk to instead of monologuing to himself. The restaurant scene at the end was raided from a later arc and you’ll see it again in Ultimate Note. A book character, Da Kui, was cut which is a small problem because how he died is a minor plot point discussed in Lost Tomb 2.
Lost Tomb 2 – covers Raging Sea, Hidden Sands (underwater tomb) and Qinling God-Tree (weird bronze tree in the mountains) plus a whole lotta side stories and original content exploring the world and foreshadowing later plots. Mooostly in continuity with Lost Tomb 1 (see Da Kui above) and made as a set with Heavenly Palace in the Clouds – they share resources and a lot of actors, and some threads begun here are finished in Heavenly Palace.
Heavenly Palace in the Clouds – covers the Mt Changbai arc, a journey up a mountain to find a very old, very grand tomb. This was made so close to Lost Tomb 2 that LT2 borrows shots from Heavenly Palace and not the other way around, which is fascinating because it pointedly contradicts the last five episodes of LT2. It also brings forward some plotlines originally from the Tamutuo and Zhang Family Old Pavilion arcs (San-shu’s past in the underwater tomb, and the Huo Family videotapes) dragging some characters on-screen and forcing them to talk about their feelings, which they would clearly rather die than do. Given those plot-tweaks and the early, deliberate continuity clash, I’m tempted to call this a Canon Parallel Universe. Got some interestingly chewy character dynamics and luverly, luverly set design.
Mystic Nine – This is a prequel about Zhang Qishan – Fo-ye – and his peers, but later dramas expect us to know who Fo-ye was so I’m sticking it here. Kinda… picaresque? Lots of action scenes and Republican-era flavour and various factions jostling for power – kinda feels like an old-school wuxia story, only set in the 1930s with all that glorious Republican-era styling. Has some unfortunate cut scenes – the details of how Fo-ye recovered at his family’s house don’t make a lot of sense in the aired version, and there are a couple of missing fights in the penultimate episode. Shrug. Still a lot of fun. Comes with four side movies about supporting characters.
Ultimate Note – Covers the Tamutuo arc (a trip through the jungle) and two-thirds of the Zhang Family Old Pavilion arc (investigating Zhang Qiling’s past is like kicking a hornet’s nest). Very, very flirty and has some zippy-zip action choreography. Politely ignores Lost Tomb 1–Heavenly Palace continuity (Xie Yuchen is, once more, introduced for the first time, now with a romantically coded friendship arc) and brings in a lot of cameos from Mystic Nine and Sand Sea, which it was filmed after. Kinda tiptoes around parts of the book plot, which I suspect would be hard for anyone to film, re: Fo-ye’s actions in the 1960s. Fair warning, this ends on a cliffhanger. This is also where the Xinyue Restaurant scene appears again – two cakes!
Tibetan Sea Flower – If Tibetan Sea Flower ever airs, it will go here.
Sand Sea – Based on the Sand Sea novel. After Tibetan Sea Flower, Wu Xie goes into a bit of a decline and makes that the world’s problem. We the audience, plus Li Cu and Liang Wan, EDIT: a lovely doctor, are pretty much dropped in media res into a number of ancient conspiracies and complicated plots coming to a head in the manner of a boil. It’s weird; it’s messy; it’s mad fun. Like Mystic Nine, has a lot of factions jostling for power and colourful jianghu characters. We will, once more, see the Xinyue Restaurant scene. Also has some side movies.
Time Raiders – The textual hints that suggest Wu Xie wrote this, suggest he wrote it around Sand Sea-era, when his life was a bit complicated. I’m putting it after Sand Sea because I believe it caps a conversation that, ah, doesn’t quite make it into the drama. But notionally this is where it should go. Ah…. at one point, someone tells a story about an ancient ruler, King Mu of Zhou, who sought immortality from the Queen of the West in Tamutuo. The longer book conversation suggests that a) King Mu of Zhou engineered a “trap” for someone like Wu Xie to fall into in the future, and b) that Iron Mask Scholar, a villain from Lost Tomb 1, was an alias that King Mu of Zhou used in the Warring States Era. Which makes some of Iron Mask Scholar’s appearances in Time Raiders… interesting.
Reunion: Sound of Providence – sometimes known as Reboot. Having peaked in badassery in Sand Sea, Wu Xie has to consider what his life is going to be now, and also, he would like to track down a missing family member. So this was tweaked to make it more accessible to new viewers (so some parts of the back-story are not mentioned or conflated for simplicity) and that mostly works but I did find watching this first and then picking up the earlier dramas a bit of a mindscrew. Zhu Yilong is, however, a powerful draw and the rest of the cast sparkles. Probably best to think of Season 1 as two short seasons jammed together, which is to say, once the Warehouse 11 arc starts there are a number of characters who won’t reappear until Season 2. It’s a fun arc even so. Season 2 ends with a badass action scene and then a big party, which I think is a great way to end a story.
Escape from the Monstrous Snake, Mystery/Grave of the Abyss, Conjuring Curse, Misty Creed – these are all theoretically set around or after Reboot-era, though they can certainly be watched as stand-alones.

Dungeon: The Narrow Out
Looking to slip past the imperial naval blockades, you and your fellow strangers have paid for passage aboard a smuggler’s ship. Something's gone wrong however, you were supposed to meet at the mouth of the old sea cave but the person who was to be your guide hasn’t shown. With no hope of turning back, your only chance of escape is to press onwards into the dark.
This adventure starter is intended as an intro for a group of newer players and provides an introduction to a campaign full of mysteries, hidden motives, and nautical swashbuckling.  It lets you get a group of unrelated characters together, give them a starting point to begin constructing their backstories (why they need to leave the land under blockade), and familiarize them with the game’s mechanics (whichever that game might be) before sending them out into the world for larger adventures.
Challenges & Complications
After some brief introductions at the mouth of the cave (perhaps asking how everyone is dealing with the chill of the evening, and the stress of trying to slip past the military blockade), you can send the party into the mouth of the cave with the shared understanding that their contact is long overdue. Finding their way through the caves is essential to them obtaining their freedom, but solving the mystery of what happened to their contact will prevent the same from falling into a similar fate.
The initial leg of the journey through the cave is full of darkness, dead ends, and the usual denizens of any low level dungeon. The idea here is to teach your party the basics of game mechanics ( combat, skill challenges etc) before they get into exploration proper. These early tunnels are little more than various natural caves that the smugglers use as a buffer between their hideout and the outside world, sometimes creating false trails that lead would be interlopers into traps.
The interior of the smuggler’s lair is an old fortress built into the walls of the cave itself, a secret dock constructed during the Grey Duke’s Revolution (or whichever conflict fits your campaign backstory)  and lost in the subsequent shift of power.  Since then it’s become a place for the smugglers to store their ill gotten good while blocking off several sections for being too dangerous to utilize, which just may prove to have unclaimed valuables.
The smuggler’s ship, the Singing Eel is awaiting the party at the dock, all decked out and ready to sail but with no one apparently on board.  It’s an eerie sight, made all the eerier by the discovery that several of the innocuous statues stashed away in the cargo hold are in fact former members of the crew, victims of the flock of cockatrices the smugglers were transporting at a noble’s behest who managed to escape their cages and now lurk in the ship.
While the party’s contact is stone dead, the rest of the crew is hold up in one of the old fortifications, ordered to hide by their all too cautious captain who’s scared of the beasts attacking.  The cockatrices haven’t left yet because one of their number, the lone rare female is still stuck in her cage, kept alive by the males foraging for her and passing food. The smugglers are on the edge of mutiny, some want to bolt, some want to try and fight, some want to recover their deadly cargo for the rich payout they were promised, and the party can have a strong impact depending on which side they talk up. Alternatively, if enough of the party are proficient in sailing, the thought might occur to them to cut the smugglers out of the deal entirely and take the ship and/or the surviving cockatrices for themselves and risk the blockade.
While they’re exploring the old dock ruins, the party can come across a number of documents which might include maps of the dungeon, clues to hidden treasure, backstory on the cockatrices, blackmail information on the crew, as well as a hint of treasure in the location they’re headed off to.

Connected (OT8 x reader)
Part 11<-
Part 12
Tumblr media
Pairing: Chan x reader, Felix x reader, Hyunjin x reader
Genre: Fluff, Angst
Warnings: Suggestive Themes, Swearing, mentions of sex, pet names, jealousy
Word Count: 5k
Note: Had to split the original part again. So here you go with some extra fluff before we get to that naughty Hyunjin smut… Don’t come at me because of that cliffhanger! I read all of your suggestions and already included some of them into the upcoming parts. So don’t be shy and continue to send me your requests!
On your first day of your new job as the personal manager of Stray Kids, you didn't expect to be standing in front of the man you made out with last night in a club. But it soon becomes clear that the Stray Kids don't just want you as their manager.
Will this passionate arrangement end your career?
The knock on the door of your office jolted you out of your work and the surroundings blurred before your eyes for a moment as you averted your gaze from the laptop. But it was only Chan who slipped through the door and smiled broadly at you.
"Busy?", he asked in passing, and you rubbed your eyes tiredly.
"It's always busy."
He sauntered into the room with his hands in his pockets, looking at the new decorations you had put up. In addition to several small cacti and succulents, you had also placed a few scented candles that filled the room with pleasant lavender and mint. The way he blinked in your direction and the smug smile on his face made you suspicious.
Chan had done something, you just didn't know what yet.
"Are you going to be at rehearsals later?", he asked, dropping down onto your couch.
"Sure. The dancers will be there and it's the last rehearsal before the shoot tomorrow. I want to make sure everything works out."
Chan nodded and propped his forearms on his knees, staring intently at you. He was making you more nervous with every passing second.
"Is there anything you need?", you finally asked, getting up to go to him. He smiled mysteriously again and as soon as you were within reach, he pulled you by the wrist to the couch where you dropped down next to him. He laid your legs sideways across his lap and played with the waistband of your black stockings.
"I just wanted to see you before we start rehearsals."
You rolled your eyes slightly and smirked.
"What is it really Channie?"
He pressed his lips together and traced patterns with his thumb on the bare strip of skin on your thigh that peeked out from under your skirt.
"Am I that transparent?", he asked, amused, and now it was clear. There was that adventurous gleam in his eyes that he always had when he knew something he wasn't supposed to say.
You nudged him impatiently against the shoulder with your foot and said:
"Tell me! What have you done now?"
He quickly grabbed your ankle and playfully pinched your calf.
"Okay okay! Wait!", he laughed and his big hands gripped your thighs tightly, so weren’t be able to nudge him again.
"You need to close your eyes!"
Astonished, you tilted your head and looked at him in disbelief.
"Is this some kind of trick?", you asked, trying to get a clue from his impenetrable expression as to what he was up to.
"No. Just do it okay?", he said, and you sighed loudly.
"Mhh", you mumbled as your eyes closed. Chan looked at you for a few seconds. The way your eyelashes cast shadows on your cheeks and your sweet lips twisted into an excited smile made his heart flutter.
A sharp gasp escaped you when you felt his lips on your neck, and you had to giggle when he spread wet kisses in a ticklish spot.
"Channie!", you gasped and you squinted your eyes harder. You felt his sweet laugh against your chest, his lips right above your breasts.
"Maybe it was a trick after all. You just look too cute today..."
"What are you doing?", you asked, unable to stop grinning.
"Give me your hand!", he said softly, giving you a quick kiss on the nose. Confused, you held out your open palm to him and he took your hand gently. Then you heard something jingle and something cool touched your palm.
The little thing was as heavy as metal and just as hard.
You frowned and that's when Chan said:
"You can look now."
Slowly you opened your eyes and looked directly into Chan's excited face. His eyes lit up with anticipation and he waited anxiously for your reaction.
Then you looked at your palm and recognized the silver key. It looked like a door key and shone like real silver in the light of the office.
Even more confused than before, you looked at Chan again, not daring to move your hand. Only gradually you started to understand and you could only slap a hand over your mouth in disbelief.
Had he really done that? Had it really worked?
It was too good to be true, so you just stared at him wordlessly, before you could say something.
"Channie, what does that mean?", you asked in a shaky voice, glancing again at the key that lay heavy in your hand.
"We talked to Mrs. Chung and a few others and explained your situation. I did some research. Through your employment contract, JYP Entertainment is obligated to provide you with a place to live. Our proposal was accepted as it has benefits for all parties."
The information didn't quite get through to you yet. Chan wanted to kiss you really bad, you looked so adorable looking at him from wide eyes.
"That means..."
"You're moving in with us. As early as tomorrow. A moving company will take care of everything and bring your stuff to the dorm during the next days.“
Your mind went blank. You could only stare at the key and slowly close your hand around it. Now that the information had slowly reached you, you shook your head.
"Chan, what... how..."
You had no idea what to say. Once again, he had completely overwhelmed you, and you didn't know how you could ever repay him for all that.
"That's incredible," you breathed, and he chortled delightedly.
"I hope this isn't happening too fast for you. But we wanted to hurry since you already have to be out of your apartment by the end of the week."
Chan caught you just in time as you threw yourself into his arms, the key tight in your fist. You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling yourself against him until you were sitting sideways all the way on his lap. He held you by the waist and returned the hug with a happy smile. You nuzzled your face to his neck and a broken gasp escaped you, very similar to a sob.
All your worries evaporated into thin air and a heavy stone was lifted from your chest that had taken your breath away for days.
"Thank you Channie! I don't know how I can ever repay you for all that you have done for me."
You felt his body heat and his cologne swirled around you like a pleasant cloud.
"You do such a good job and take such loving care of us... That's the least“, he breathed, enjoying the way your body nestled against his chest.
It seemed like you were never going to let him go and that was just fine with him.
His hands traveled up your back, under your shirt and stroked down your spine to your bra. You detached yourself from him a little to be able to look at him, but without taking your arms from his neck.
His eyes roamed curiously over your face and he was pleased to see your glazed eyes and overwhelmed smile.
"You have no idea how much you're helping me with this... How can I make it up to you?", you asked, stroking your fingers over the back of his neck, to his hairline and nuzzling him, making him grumble in satisfaction.
"Kiss me and maybe I'll think of something", he teased, and you didn't let him tell you twice. You both grinned like idiots and all you had to do was lean forward and your lips collided.
He cupped your face with his hands and put everything he had into the kiss. The key you unconsciously put next to you on the cushion, because as great as it was to have something material that gave you security, it was Chan you wanted and would prefer every time.
He tickled little sighs out of you as he gently bit your lip and your tongue slid into his mouth without resistance. Your hands found their way into his hair and your entire body melted into his. It wasn't long before the kiss became more heated and chaotic.
When he pulled back briefly, his mouth landed on your neck and licked a strip down to your collarbone. As he exhaled, goosebumps spread across your body as the spot tingled cool. You grabbed his hands and put them to your breasts, which he squeezed lightly.
„Can I fuck you right here? At your office?“, he pleaded and kissed your earlobe.
“I’ll do anything you want, Mr Bang”, you teasingly cooed and tugged your hands under his shirt to touch his abs.
“You know how sexy it is when you talk to me like that?”, he grinned and grabbed your ass to knead your skin under your skirt.
It took quite a while before you realized the knock on the door. Breathing heavily, you detached yourselves a little from each other and someone was already pushing down the handle.
You slid off his lap next to him just in time as Na Ji-Deung entered. The young man had been working for the company for a couple of years, but had been responsible for organizational tasks and had only been back in town for the last week.
He was now in charge of managing the economic aspect and quotas of Stray Kids, and now worked closely with you. He was a few years older than Chan and from the very beginning loved to interfere in matters that were actually your area of responsibility.
He was constantly sneaking around near you and knocking on your office more often than it was necessary. That's exactly why you quickly found him very annoying, since he always barged in when it didn't suit.
You also noticed his attempts at flirting, but you kept it to yourself. You really couldn't use any extra stress right now.
Now he was glancing back and forth between you and Chan, who was staring at the ceiling in annoyance, taking a deep breath. Quickly, you straightened your shirt and took your legs off Chan's lap.
"Can I help you?", you asked when he didn't say a word.
He quickly cleared his throat and straightened his tie.
"I wanted to let Bang Chan know that the background dancers are all here now. I couldn't find him so I assumed he was here."
You thought you detected a slightly sour tone, but maybe you were just imagining it.
"You were obviously right about that. You found me", Chan said and stood up. You grabbed the key and slid it into your bra before standing up as well.
"Thanks. We'll be right there", Chan said again emphatically when he didn't move.
"Everyone is already waiting for you", Ji-Deung replied, to which Chan raised his eyebrows with a petrified expression. You quickly grabbed his upper arm.
"Go ahead! I'll be right there", you assured him, and after a brief hesitation and an emphatically long look at Ji-Deung, he nodded and then left the office. Only when he was gone did Ji-Deung seem to breathe a sigh of relief and relax a bit.
"Do you need anything else?", you asked with a smile and that's when he seemed to think of something again.
"Uh yeah... I would need your signature for the upcoming cooperation", he said and held out to you the document he was carrying. You nodded quickly and took it from him.
While you skimmed it, he looked around the room a bit and then stared at the sofa where you had just been making out with the leader of the band you were both working for.
"You get along pretty well with Bang Chan...", he remarked seemingly unintentionally.
As you pulled a pen out of your drawer, you had to smile a bit.
"Yes. We work very closely together, so we spend a lot of time together. Wouldn't be so good if we didn't get along."
He nodded slowly and tensed up again. You put your signature on the document as you found everything to be suitable and handed it back to him. He ran his hand through his short black hair and averted his eyes from your legs, which he had been looking at while you leaned over the desk.
"Are you very close?", he asked then suddenly and you could only raise your eyebrows in surprise.
"I get along well with all the members...", you said, and finally he took the document from you.
"Or what do you want to know?", you added sharply.
Quickly he shook his head as he looked into your face.
"Nevermind."
"Excuse me. I have to work", you said monotonously and finally he understood and said goodbye. You left your office after him and made your way to the practice room. Your heart was still pounding with nervousness.
Did he suspect something or was he just too curious?
If he only knew that you were regularly fucked by the members...
-
Rehearsals were in full swing and the guys were doing their best with the new choreography. The background dancers were also excellent and all sympathetic and sweet.
During a meeting, you struck up a conversation with one of the younger dancers and you quickly got on the obvious topic.
"I've seen that you can dance very well too", he said, brushing his brown hair out of his forehead.
He was really cute, had dimples when he smiled and was polite.
"I was a dance teacher in America. Now here I just dance for fun", you explained and he nodded attentively.
"That's cool. You'll probably know all the choreography by heart."
"Not yet... But I'm working on it", you laughed and he leaned against the wall next to you.
„I could teach you."
That's when Lee Know elbowed Hyunjin in the side and nodded in your direction. Both of them were busy talking to the choreographers. But Hyunjin immediately clenched his teeth tightly when he saw the handsome young man with you and how he made you laugh.
-
After a few more runs, your body automatically moved to the music and imitated the dance steps. You would have loved to join them on the dance floor. The performance was energetic and exciting.
The guys were fully engaged and during a small break the handsome dancer came up to you again.
"The steps already look better on you than they do on us", he laughed, and you shrugged it off.
"No... I don't think so. I still don't understand the most of it. For example, the transitions..."
You started fooling around a bit and he showed you some of the steps in more detail. Hyunjin kept looking in your direction and gradually became more and more restless. He couldn't stand the way he looked at you when he gently touched your arm and you blinked at him with your beautiful eyes.
Eventually he couldn't take it anymore and broke away from his position. The guys were busy making adjustments anyway and you winced when he suddenly appeared next to you.
"How do you like it so far?", he asked, naturally putting an arm around your shoulder. As he did so, he didn't take his eyes off the dancer, who immediately became quietly.
"It looks really great. The power goes well with the song”, you said a bit irritated.
Hyunjin smiled slightly.
"What are you up to?", he asked, and the dancer took the floor:
"I'm just showing her some of the dance steps."
Hyunjin nodded and looked down at him like an insect.
"Oh yes. I almost forgot... Lee Know needs you. You should go to him."
"Oh really? Yes okay."
Somewhat confused, he listened to him and walked over to Lee Know, who had never said that. Hyunjin just wanted to remove him from around you.
"What was that about?", you asked in wonder, looking up at him.
"Do you like him?", he asked, and you had to smile lightly. Was he a little jealous?
Just because you were talking to another man?
"He's nice. He offered to help me with the dance cover I wanted to do."
"Hm... You know I can help you too."
Quickly you nodded and smiled knowingly.
"Of course I know that."
"Good..."
He just looked at you for a while. He loved the way you glanced at him. Like he was something fascinating that you couldn't take your eyes off. Hyunjin had to rejoin the others, but didn't miss the chance to stroke your back and seemingly accidentally touch your butt.
As the rehearsal drew to a close, everyone was sweating and out of breath. But it all worked out and the choreography was finally wrapped up. After the guys thanked the staff and said goodbye, you could see the handsome dancer approaching you again.
With gritted teeth, Hyunjin noticed this too.
Why couldn't that stupid boy just disappear?
He stood by you for a while, you chatted casually, and every time you smiled, Hyunjin wanted to run over and finally put an end to it. When you even gave him your cell phone and you exchanged numbers, Hyunjin couldn't stay calm anymore.
Within seconds, he was standing next to you and the smile was gone from his face. Instead, he only radiated coldness and you could only look at him silently.
"The rehearsal is over. You can leave now buddy!"
Although his tone sounded friendly and he patted him on the shoulder in a friendly manner, there was no warmth that he usually radiated.
"We were just exchanging numbers in case I ever have a question about choreography or a dance cover. I don't always want to bug you guys about it since you're so busy."
You sounded like you were justifying yourself and the dancer was getting more confused each second. Hyunjin continued to look at him coolly and nodded slowly.
"I think that won't be necessary."
"Jinnie... Can we talk in private?", you whispered then to end the awkward situation. He nodded and together you walked down the deserted hallway.
As soon as you turned to him, you crossed your arms.
"What was that about?", you snapped at him.
"I don't like the way he looks at you."
"Ri-eun is just being nice!"
Hyunjin raised his eyebrows and slowly approached you. Like a predator encircling its prey.
"So you already know that frat-boy's name? Do you really think he wants to help you? He just wants to fuck you, can't you tell?"
His voice got darker and darker and you bumped your back against the wall. Astonished, you looked up at him and audibly exhaled as he trapped you between his arms, which he placed on the wall to the left and right of your head.
"Oh, you're jealous", you noted quietly, and he immediately frowned.
Was that what took his breath away as soon as he saw you with someone other than his members?
"Maybe”, he murmured.
As he spoke, he moved his thumb to your chin, pulling your lips apart just a little before running it down the front of your throat, adding just enough pressure to make you gasp.
"Maybe I'm just scared."
The tension was taut to the breaking point and you barely dared to breathe. His face hovered close to yours and he pushed your legs apart slightly with his knee.
"Scared?", you asked breathlessly and could only stare at his perfect lips.
His skin was still shiny from the exertion and the hairband kept the soft strands of hair out of his face. In his eyes now shone not only the typical warmth, but dangerous heat that could burn you at any moment.
He stroked his fingers further down your neck, leaving a crackle on your skin.
"I am scared because I don't want anyone else to realize how beautiful, smart, funny, kind and just so damn lovable you are. Because maybe then they will steal you from us. We don't want to lose you, princess."
His words made your whole body tingle and you automatically put your hands to his chest to feel him closer. His fingers slid down your collarbone to your chest.
"You're not going to lose me. After all i’ll be moving in with you in a few days."
At that, he lifted his eyes and looked at you in surprise.
"You said yes?"
An amused snort escaped you.
"Of course I said yes. You guys mean just as much to me, haven't you noticed?"
Now all he could do was smile, and it was the most beautiful smile you've ever seen. His hand stroked your neckline and you wanted to feel his touch everywhere at once.
He leaned forward until his mouth hovered next to your ear and you had to suppress pressing against him as your upper bodies touched.
"Come to the dorm tonight... Then I'll show you how much you're really worth to us”, he whispered in your ear and your whole body trembled with excitement. With a smile, he kissed down your jaw with his hand still on your cleavage, eliciting a trembling gasp from you.
Only briefly did his lips detach from your skin and you looked at him in wonder, but his gaze was fixed on something in the hallway.
You followed his gaze and your heart leapt.
Ri-Eul was standing in the hallway and was probably about to leave. He was staring at both of you and Hyunjin made no move to let go of you. Quite the opposite. His lips brushed along your neck again and one hand lay firmly against your breast, while you had to suppress a desperate moan with all your might.
Quickly the dancer tore himself away from the sight and hurried along the corridor until he disappeared.
"Did you have to do that?", you asked, clawing your fingers into his chest as his warm breath brushed against the sensitive skin on your neck. A chuckling laugh escaped him and he lightly squeezed your breast through the fabric of your top.
Of course he had done this on purpose.
He wanted to be seen like that, so the boy would understand that there was nothing to get from you.
"I'll see you tonight", he said with a meaningful grin, squeezing your hip. Then he disappeared back into the practice room to finish discussing with the boys.
-
Your heart fluttered like crazy when you later stood in front of the dorm's door.
The thought that this would soon be your home was so unreal that for a moment you just stared at the white door. It wasn't until someone came up the stairs behind you that you remembered to ring the bell. While waiting for someone to open the door, you looked down at yourself.
You had put on a long black coat, because although the first flowers were already blooming, the icy wind of winter was still sweeping through the streets.
It had taken you forever to decide what you would wear. Hyunjin's words and his jealousy had not left your mind. You also wanted to give him something, which is why you had chosen a tight white dress. You knew exactly how much he loved white on you and also how much he liked to look at your body, especially your boobs, when you wore something more revealing.
Your outfit for him was safely tucked away under your coat, with only your white stockings peeking out from underneath. When the door opened, a delicious scent of chocolate immediately hit you.
Felix stood in the doorway and smiled when he saw you.
"Hey, Y/N! You're just in time. I need you to do me a favor."
Taken off guard by his radiant energy, you let yourself be pulled into the apartment with amusement. You were a bit surprised, since you had expected to be alone with Hyunjin, but when you saw Changbin putting on his jacket in the hallway and Chan slipping into his shoes in the living room as well, Hyunjin had probably made sure that you were undisturbed tonight after all.
"You have a key now, don't you? Why are you ringing the bell?", asked Changbin with a heartwarming smile.
You slipped out of your boots and Felix directly intertwined your fingers.
"I don't live here yet, Binnie", you replied over your shoulder, as Felix was already pulling you along. You let him lead you through the living room and up to the open kitchen.
"I found out last that you're really moving in with us", he said over his shoulder, and you waved hurriedly at Chan as you passed.
He just grinned a little, since Felix had taken you in before you could even say hello.
In the kitchen, Han was mixing up some protein shake and when he saw you, he leaned against the kitchen counter.
"Yeah. I can't quite believe it yet either", you said, and that's when Jeongin joined you in the kitchen.
When Felix let go of your hand to open the oven, you understood why everyone was now gradually drifting into the kitchen.
"I wanted you to try my brownies first. I tried a new recipe", he said, setting the warm tray down on the sideboard. That's where the tempting aroma came from, and your mouth watered at the mere sight of the brown mixture.
"Felix is mean and didn't allow us to take anything until you tasted it", Jeongin muttered with his arms crossed, watching longingly as Felix began to cut the dough into small rectangles.
"Otherwise, there wouldn't have been anything left", Felix laughed, offering you one of the pieces on a plate.
"You don't have to tell me twice", you said, taking a bite of the juicy brownie.
Indeed, they tasted different than usual. The chocolate was more intense and a slight bitter note made you feel directly addicted. Your eyes got big and as soon as you swallowed, you nodded vehemently:
"These are unbelievably good, Lix!"
Satisfied, he smiled and watched you devour the whole thing.
"I'm glad you like them. Because I prepared a whole can for you. You can take it with you then", he replied, tapping a blue can that was next to the sink.
"Now give it to me!", Han yelled at him and pushed him roughly away from the tin.
He took a piece and Jeongin also made a grab for the brownies. Together with Felix, you went back into the living room and saw Changbin and Chan standing at the door ready to leave.
"Are you guys leaving?", you asked as Felix also grabbed his jacket and you slowly approached Chan.
Before answering, Chan pulled you closer by the waist and kissed you without warning. Completely caught off guard, you looked up at him and wrapped your arms around his neck.
"What was that for?" you asked with an amused smile.
"I just felt like it", he replied, and you grinned at each other like love-struck teenagers.
"Hyunjin made us leave", Lee Know replied from behind you. You hadn't even noticed how he had come into the room. Turning to him, you now saw Seungmin also leaning against the doorframe.
All of them were dressed and on the go.
"That's right. He said that we should be gone by the time he gets home... So we're going to get something to eat in town", Changbin explained, and Han came back out of the kitchen.
"He owes us all dinner now”, he said, coming up to you.
So Hyunjin had planned all this after all. Your heart pounded excitedly in your chest at the thought that he was doing all this to be alone with you.
"You haven't even taken off her coat yet!", suddenly Han snapped at the others, helping you out of your coat like a gentleman. He tossed it to Jeongin, who hung it up in the hallway.
Han's eyes wandered over your body in surprise and you could feel the guys' gazes prickling your skin.
"Shit we should have asked for so much more", Han muttered, looking like he was about to drool at the sight of your cleavage.
"Where's Hyunjin?", you asked in wonder, since he wasn't at the dorm.
Seungmin glanced at his watch, then said:
"He had to go to work again. He should be back any minute, though."
"Come on, let's get out of here! A deal's a deal", Chan then said, but not without giving you a pat on the butt. Sullenly, Han tore himself away from the sight of you and was dragged along by Changbin.
Felix was the last and you held him back by the arm before he could disappear.
"Thanks for the brownies Lix. You really need to show me how to bake!"
His eyes glittered like amber and his hands were firmly on your hips.
"I can show you how I make the brownies. Then you can help me", he said, and you nodded quickly.
"Sounds good."
"Then we'll have a baking date", he smirked and you ran your fingers over his chest.
It sounded like a sweet temptation you couldn't resist. Just like you couldn't resist putting your lips on his and pulling him into a heartfelt kiss.
As if he was just waiting for it, he hastily returned the kiss and you could taste the chocolate on his lips. It was intoxicating and when you broke away from each other, his eyes shone even more.
Just as he was about to lean down to kiss you again, you heard Changbin calling from the stairwell:
"Yongbok! Are you coming?"
And already Minho's voice was echoing off the walls as well:
"Hurry up, brownie boy!"
Sighing, he hung his head and you couldn’t resist kissing his checks and his pretty freckles, while he squeezed your hips.
"See you, jagi", he whispered, giving you one last innocent kiss on the lips.
"Bye, Lixie," you replied, and he walked backwards out the door to look at you until the last moment.

Final!!!
Tumblr media
Part 1, part 2
🪐Today 4ever to last for eternity 🪐
~Once again this might not be accurate!
Tumblr media
Summary :
You and Rin are the last students in whole the school after the apocalypse... The whole of Japan is infected with this deadly disease. You guys must not get infected before the cure is discovered.
Rin and reader are not alone in this adventure, angst, New characters in the story will appear!
Multiple chapters!
"Itoshi the food in the canteen is running out..." You whisper holding on to the last box of nutrients the room had left, it's been a few months of this torture you and Rin were the only survivers until now.
"Fuck... I don't think the other canteen has enough food for us" he reply back to you holding a piece of furniture blocking the entrance door to the cafeteria.
"It's better for us to go than stay here any longer" You look outside the window box still at hand. "We don't wanna leave any clue for those things to use" you nodded to Rin as he says that
You remember just a few months before hiding from those things, you had a couple of people alive with you and Rin. Your best friend, her boyfriend that was one of the few popular athletes like Rin, and the quiet kid.
Akemi the quiet kid was the first to die in your group... she died from lack of food since she was secretly starving herself to save food for the others. Next was all of the other athletes... They were fighting the crowd of zombie-like creatures for you guys to escape the classroom to find more food.
Your bestie was heartbroken to the point she became depressed, you weren't surprised since her lover just died. But still tried your best to help you bff to cheer her up.
Next was sadly your best friend... The zombie manages to weaken the walls in the room/ library you guys were sleeping in, to then kick or well... Break the wall down. They ambush you and the 2 other members still at midnight, as you were about to get attacked. Your bestie managed to get that zombie's attention by throwing books at that creature and lured them outside.
To then run in the crowd of zombies never to be seen alive EVER again, as you were about to cry from your lost Rin forcefully grab your arm and dash to the exit while the zombies were still distracted.
Those creatures are not fully zombies... They still have a mind of their own yet still looks like zombies. They can use anything to find human flesh.
They adapt well...
You promise to stay alive for the people who sacrifice themselves for your well-being.
"Hey Itoshi let's camp at the seniors library... They're much more books than the last library we went to" you suggested as you start packing the box of food needed in your school backpack.
He nodded as he start to pack the remaining food supplies in his own bag... And that's where you and him set out to go to the next destination.
It surprisingly took such a few short minutes to get there it was quite peaceful other than rin killing those creatures...
As you both stand outside the library to find more about these creatures, you notice something on the gigantic door, upon closer inspection it was a sticky note used to remind people of their individual tasks made by the council club.
As you read it mentally you get surprised since the handwriting was your best friend and IS your bestie...
Tumblr media
"So, Are we still camping here?" Rin asked and you almost fell back in surprise, 'geez... I forgot he was still here' you think to yourself, and mentally note to find something in the public library.
You shake your head in disagreement to rin's question as you head to the main gate of the school.
Rin followed you as he started killing those creatures once again that tried to attack.
...
You both arrived at the main gate of the school, streets crawling with those mysterious creatures... Almost one spotted you but Rin killed it almost instantly as it spotted you.
As you took rin's appearance, he was quite charming even with all of those bloody fluids covering his school uniform. Now you know why girls fuss over him every time they see him walking through the hallways.
"Huh whatcha staring at...?" Rin asked as he caught you staring at him
"Oh well... Just admiring how you look" you replied feeling embarrassed from your action.
Rin stayed silent before adding another question.
"How did that note get there? I mean... Your so called best friend surely died before ever reaching the seniors library"
'Hm... That's easy to answer' you note to yourself as you start answering.
"Well before we all actually teamed up... We were both in a different group than you, it was composed of all of our classmates and a council member" you paused before adding
"me and her were tasked exploring different areas of the school to find something that can help by the council member"
"That doesn't explain how?"
"itoshi I know your lacking in your subjects... But how can you not piece it together?"
"No need to be rude..."
"My bad itoshi... She explored the west where the seniors library is to be specific while I explored the north, And that's where she discovered nothing or that's what the note told us"
"Oh."
"After our time was up exploring, we headed back to the camp our classmates made. And I saw a bloody entrance... And multiple dead bodies and my bestie running towards me"
"And...?"
"I grab her by the arm-"
"Why?"
"Stop it you're annoying me"
"that the purpose (reader)"
"Ugh... I grab her and start running away since she was deathly afraid of those kinds of things"
"lukewarm"
"Woah itoshi that is extremely rude"
"And that's where I ran into you and your bloody mess"
"That's why your so traumatized, when I first saw you both?"
You nodded in approval as you stared outside the gate filled with these zombies? You don't know anymore.
Rin sensing it's time to stop pushing the story any further.
to be continued...
AHHH TYSM FOR READING💗💗💗
Forgot to add! Reader check the seniors library since 'bestie' might not have checked it yet! After all it was the west and not only the library!!!

For any curious on my aus, here's some basic lore.
Between the Screen Au
Basic info: Rewrite of the Epic Mickey games with darker themes and slight cast changes. I.e. Fanny is temporary leader while Oz guards Mickey Junk Mt, loads of really old designs for most of the toons, etc.
Summary: Mickey sneaks into a closed off studio room within Yen Sid's lair. Intrigued by the mystical looking paint brush, he begins to paint himself only for it to distort and attack him. With a sponge and thinner, he tries to wipe away his creation. He leaves the room believing he erased the creature. He was wrong as little did he know that his action lead to the downfall of an entire world. Years past and Mickey raises to fame. One night he is swept away into a place toons of ages past dwell. Can he fix his mistakes and mend a relationship that could have been? Who knows.
Epic Mickey : Tale of 2 Brothers
Basic Info: Another au that rewrites Epic Mickey, but brings back the old concepts and story where Ozzy is an anti-hero and Mickey can go feral.
Summary: Oswald is the humble king of Wasteland that works hard to give everything he's got to forgotten toons. However, his obsession for admiration and justice lead him to take drastic measures. An alliance between the Mad Doctor and an inky beast called the Blot leads them to seek revenge on the toon responsible for their circumstances. Mickey is dragged into Wasteland and adventures the land in hopes of returning back home. Both brothers will have to make the right decisions for this story to end well.
Rising Star
Basic Info: Somewhat parody of Walt's rise to fame. Toons and humans co-exist. Various old toons appear like Felix, Gerdy, Flip, etc. Look is like Roger rabbit. Follows from like the 1920s to modern day.
Summary: Michael and Oswald love their little rural life, but yearned for bigger dreams. Oswald eventually builds enough income to head out to California to make it big. He gets noticed for his talent and charm by a director and becomes a star. A year passes and Michael later joins in his brother's footstep to be a star. Both learn that making it big isn't all glitz and glam.
Toons & Dungeons
Basic Info: D&D inspired universe. Mainly focuses on the Disney Brothers, but other toons will appear. Story is very rough as this is an old au that changed from an RPG based idea to D&D, which I have little knowledge off.
Summary: Orphans Mick and Ozzy were inseparable as they roamed the streets of Fantasia. A run in with the Blox lead the two to be separated. Oswald was cursed to never be remembered by his loved ones after escaping from the Blox. He takes refuge with people called Gremlins who raise him as one of their own. The only thing he wants is to lift this curse and re-unite with his brother. Mickey is a traveling bard on a quest to find something he's lost. The only clue he's got is someone important to him, a brother? A friend? If only he could remember what his name was or what he looked like.
Ink & Mirrors
Basic Info: An old Bendy and the Ink machine au that's been slightly revamped. Main cast is Epic Mickey, Bendy cast, Cuphead cast, and Felix cast alongside cameos of other toons or ocs. Most lore is based on the first game with little humans in it, basically really early days of Bendy theories. It has a parallel story, but it is mostly the same in how it would go.
Summary: Bendy has been trapped in this crummy studio for years and envies the toons that are more beloved them him. He already dealt with his damn creator, so why not have some good cartoon fun? Toons have been going missing and mysterious letters appear to some that ask them to visit an old studio. Some visit or stumble into it after encounter strange black ink. Little do these toons know that this place was never suppose to be found.
Toon High
Basic Info: An old High school au. Walt High, Universal High, and Warner High. Not much else to go on, it's just school. Various toons can appear, but again this focuses on Disney mainly. Story is never gonna be concrete and barely used. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Summary: Mickey and Oswald have had a rocky relationship ever Mickey came into the family. One was joyous to have an older brother while the other was indifferent. Oswald is transferred to Walt High after Universal High doesn't work out. Mickey is happy be going to high school with his big brother, but his brother would rather be anywhere else. Maybe the two can finally work out their differences.
Magic Island
Basic Info: Animal crossing
Summary: Elias finds out that a new island get-away is being opened by Tom Nook. Him and his brother Clover travel to the island for a change of view and potential new home. New friends and a hard-working leader are what welcomes the brothers to their new home.
Local Toons
Basic Info: Everyone's a kid. Minor angst as this is more like slice of life. Style is black and white.
Summary: The Disney brothers love their rural life and love to help around the town. Various shenanigans ensue and new friends come and go.
P.D. Toons (Public Domain Toons)
Basic Info: Public domain toons that I made my own. Their origins are still there but nothing like the originals. Every toon has a new name. I.e. Willy = Mickey, Oliver = Oswald, etc. These are just for fun so not much lore.
Summary: Slice of life like stories or illustrations. Nothing big.

⋆⭒˚. ࣪˖ ִֶָཐིཋྀ 𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐋𝐄𝐆 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 the sun was quickly setting — either that, or the trees were so thick it made the sky look black.
Nanami couldn’t be sure; he was too focused on the pain in his leg and the pounding in his head that made it hard for him to think clearly, his vision blurring with every pulse.
Was it day? Had it been only hours since he escaped with barely his life? How long had he been wandering through these dark woods with nothing but his own wits about him?
Nanami had no clue.
Long enough for twigs to stick in his hair that’s for certain, long enough for mud to cling to the sweat on his skin and stain the fabric of his clothes. Long enough for his mind to blur the reality of hours and minutes that time itself seemed to stretch and bend forever.
He was sure he was leaving a rather noticeable blood trail behind him for those beasts to follow him and yet it seems they hadn’t — they must be too busy sucking out the marrow of his companions to bother with him.
Nanami couldn’t argue with that reasoning, however. With an injury like his, bleeding out like he was, he was bound to wither away eventually; he was already a walking corpse.
A morbid thought, but his macabre reality.
The forest floor was brown and black slush, muddy from the light rain that squished and sloshed under his boots. His glasses were dotted with water and his leg shot pain straight up his spine with every dreaded step forward yet Nanami wouldn’t give up — he couldn’t.
Not when his boots sunk into the mud and he had to pull his legs out of the earth to move, not when he smeared water on his glasses when he’d push them up the bridge of his nose, not when every step felt like a millennia of war battling in his calf… he smelt of his own blood and misery yet he conquered on, further into the dark wood with splinters in his palms and blisters on his toes.
A part of him was drawn forward anyway, drawn towards the mystery of the shadows and the fortune that may just await him if he continued on just a little farther. A symptom to his love for adventure; he was always weak to the allure of intrigue.
It was also hope.
Nanami couldn’t die here, not like this, not after all of his adventures and misfortunes and treasures. He was a traveler after all, a born adventurer; he’s faced many great monsters and beasts and traversed the most dangerous of terrain — fierce lions with claws of blade and savage wolfs with teeth of daggers, fiery lava pits and cataclysmic grand canyons.
He’s been dealt with far worse things than a clawed leg — he’s been poisoned and stabbed and bit and bludgeoned and nearly flattened by an avalanche yet this seems to be the one injury to ruin him despite them all.
A damn cut.
Maybe his bad luck had finally caught up to him.
Maybe it was purely by chance and blind, ignorant luck that he survived those encounters at all, maybe it had been luck that saved his life tonight.
He didn’t believe in luck but maybe that was just it.
Maybe he’d die from blood loss first before the infection set in; he hoped he’d just collapse into the forest floor and let the mud swallow him as his body weakened and his blood pooled around him to soak into the dirt.
At least he wouldn’t feel it when he rotted into the soil and roots buried themselves in his bones, when flowers would eventually sprout from his decay and grow gardens.
There was always beauty to be found in ugly things he guessed, a rule just as simple as beauty could be recycled from the horror of something else.
Something beautiful to come from something dead, something finally meaningful to come from his meaningless purpose.
No.
Nanami swallowed down that dreaded feeling, motivation bursting at his seams and ripping at his shirt, pooling at his feet and pounding in his ears as he stepped onward with a clenched jaw and sore muscles.
He was determined to live, determined to find something or someone or… he was bound to find safety eventually, some kind of sanctuary, even if it took him all night (if he even lived that long).
He walked a little longer until he stumbled upon a thick berry bush that seemed to block his way further; it was dark blue berries he certainly didn’t recognize and definitely didn’t trust to eat no matter how badly he needed the energy.
Nanami took that as a sign, stopping against a tree trunk to rest his throbbing leg for just one minute — a minute he couldn’t really spare. He leaned down and put a hand on his one good knee and huffed and sighed, panting weakly and tiredly; he really wanted nothing more than to be in his big comfy bed back in Hawksborough, surrounded by the comfort of his own home and safety of his room.
A few quiet moments passed with him like this. Him leaned against the tree, tired and haunted with nothing but the sounds of nature and the weariness of his own fragmented breath surrounding him.
Then, then he heard something rather remarkable, something that had his breath stop and his back straighten.
It was a hum, a beautiful, deep hum that seemed to resonate in the air around him and shake the leaves of the trees and the petals of flowers on broken stems.
It started out faint, like the strings of a harp between soft fingers. Then it crescendoed into something greater, deeper, like if someone were to play the keys of an organ and each heavy note echoed on the walls of an empty cathedral; hauntingly beautiful.
It certainly did, it echoed in his chest so hard he could feel his ribs shake.
It was a melodically smooth sound, coming from somewhere close to him but yet everywhere around him; it was hypnotic and bone chilling and mesmerizing all in one and Nanami felt a shiver run down his spine at the sound of it as the hum seemed to grow louder the more curious he became.
He looked around the darkness for anything to hint at where the sound was coming from, but saw nothing except black air and the twisted limbs of trees.
Nanami gulped down the pain in his body with a sore throat, then winced as he stood up straight.
His leg throbbed and his head was starting to ache but with one final push he managed to scramble his way through the berry bush where the hum seemed to drown in his ears and coo at his brain; something told him he was going the right way.
He grind his teeth at the thorns pushing and breaking into his skin, ripping at his shirt and tearing at his seams.
When Nanami was through, a dirty mess of ragged clothing and mud, he stumbled into the grass with a grunt, falling to his knees and landing on his bruised palms.
“Fuck…” He muttered painfully, never one to cuss but too damn frustrated not to; he’d forgive himself for it.
Nanami took a moment to relish in the agony of his battered leg; he didn’t even realize the humming had stopped until he picked his head up to see where he was.
And by the gods Nanami was in utter awe of what he saw.
There was a bright blue pond a little ways ahead of him, surrounded by flourishing plants and flowers and vines that all seemed to glow vibrant colors of blue and gold. The water itself was sparkling and bright, reflecting cerulean pools in the flora around it.
Iridescent blue weeping willow trees hung around the water and seemed to whisper longingly to the wind that caressed their leaves. The grass was long and wispy surrounding the blue bosque that seemed to sway and dance all on their own accord, to their own little melody.
The air itself was sweet and sprinkled with little golden fireflies that buzzed happily around him; it was like a portal to a whole new thriving world.
Although, it was eerily seductive; Nanami wanted to stay in the grandeur blue arms of this utopia forever, but something in the way his hair stood up on his arms and his heart pounded in his ears told him he wasn’t completely safe to do so.
Nanami pushed that thought aside, not necessarily in his right mind to pay attention to what his body was subconsciously telling him.
He was too wide eyed and breathless, for even the wind seemed so fresh and magical every pore in his body felt alive and tingly — he even felt the pain in his leg stop, some sort of euphoria flood through his nerves. Unless he just became so accustomed to the pain he couldn’t feel it anymore.
It was so beautiful and unlike anything he’d ever seen; how he wished he could take a picture and write it down in his journal so he could remember this place forever… if only those beasts hadn’t ripped his satchel off him.
Nanami blinked, once, twice, then pushed himself off the ground with all the strength he could muster. He was dirty and torn and completely out of place in such an ethereal land; he felt almost guilty for tainting its grass with his muddy shoes.
Still, he stumbled further into the mysterious place as the soft sound of wind chimes twinkled somewhere around him, not loud and obnoxious but soft and gentle, a lullaby almost that made him feel sleepy, like the notes themselves were wrapping their velvety arms around him and pulling him in.
He didn’t resist it, looking around in awe at the paradise in front of him as he took a couple steps forward. He caught the movement of two butterflies playing together in the air, their dainty wings glimmering with glowing white sparkles and a vivid sky blue — he even swore with every flap of their wings it left a trail of delicate golden dust behind them.
He watched with wonderment as they faded somewhere into the trees, then turned his head to look back at the pond; the real treasure.
He felt his mouth salivate, all too aware of the dryness in his sore throat now as the water swayed and tempted him into its crystal blue depths. He knew he should’ve been wiser about this, hesitate for just a moment and linger on the possibility of entrapment but his thirst wouldn’t allow it; a pathetic, wandering fly in a deadly flytrap.
Nanami took two strong steps — all the strength he had left — towards the ponds edge for some much needed refreshment, falling down to his knees at the waters edge. The buzzing of nature seemed to drown out behind him in a mesh of forgotten sound as he scooped up a handful of water and eagerly drank it out of his palm.
He didn’t bother looking at his reflection; he knew he was an utter mess and always hated to see himself in disarray. He must’ve looked vaguely threatening to any outsider who saw him — not that anyone did (as far as he knew).
The water rippled as he drank from it, the liquid cool and translucent blue in his dirty palm he had haphazardly wiped on his trousers.
It passed over his dry gums and throat in a refreshingly cold blast with every gulp; it tasted so good and clear he could even feel the chill of it going down his throat.
With three more frantic gulps Nanami had had enough; his stomach was full and his thirst was quenched as he leaned back on his palms and looked up towards the sky in a spared moment of relaxation.
It was a dark navy blue sky twinkling with yellow and gold diamonds, no moon in sight but he didn’t care as he got lost in the coolness of the air on his narrow cheeks and the way it wrapped around his aching body, warping between the tears of his shirt and washing over his warm skin.
It was the opposite of how he used to sit on a cliffs edge and soak in the warmness of a golden sunset after a hard journey. He didn’t want to feel the heat of a days end on his glowing skin so much as he wanted to bask in the cold stillness of a breezy evening.
He hadn’t known how he got here and he didn’t bother trying to figure out how; as an adventurer such as himself it was always about the journey rather than the destination itself anyway, but not in this case.
In this case he couldn’t be happier that the troublesome voyage had ended and he had finally reached where he needed to be — maybe needed was a strong word but he’d rather be here than out there. It was certainly weird to think that way, and it went it against his very passions but… he’s been through too much in this night alone than he’s ever really suffered through in the totality of his life.
Nanami felt disappointed in himself for thinking so, guilty even, like he was betraying this metaphorical odyssey he was destined to travel on. Still, for the first time in his career Nanami was relived to be off his feet.
He sighed wistfully, fingers sinking into the soil as cool air flooded his lungs. He closed his eyes as he relished in the feeling.
Nanami didn’t even feel it when his elbows buckled under him and he fell back on the grass, only seeing a glittering blue sky and yellow diamonds behind black, closed eyes.
The water went still once more and the blue went black.

You studied the contours of his face delicately, your hands intertwined in your lap and your legs tucked under you as you did.
The room was small and cozy, lit by nothing but a soft blue flame in the corner that crackled and popped every few moments, tendrils of butterfly bush hanging from the ceiling and walls. The room smelt of honey and sweet rain, dark and joyfully dreary but you saw his face just fine.
He was quite handsome, you couldn’t deny that.
His blonde hair all in disarray, his narrow cheeks and sharp nose, his thin pink lips and angled eyes.
He was handsome.
You narrowed your eyes at him curiously, raising a delicate hand and gently brushing your cold fingertips over his cheekbone.
His skin was smooth and warm, cheeks flushed a light pink. It was always a small envy of yours — the warmth of humans. You were so cold all the time, your skin like crystals and frigid like snow.
Your fingertips fluttered over his blonde eyelashes, unable to keep your hands off him.
You wondered what color his eyes were. Green? Brown? Blue maybe?
You were eager for him to wake, your boredom having become tiresome and your patience having become thin. Still, you didn’t want to disturb his sleep just yet. The poor man had been through so much already; his leg was still healing, wrapped in bandages and honey salve and you certainly didn’t want to add any extra stress that could damage him further.
Really, you loved to stare at him with no complications, enjoyed the thrill of blatantly admiring his beauty before he could wake up and you’d inevitably make him uncomfortable, before he’d say it was improper to do so.
You were selfish in that regard, in many regards.
This man, you hadn’t learned his name nor his origin, but you knew he had been in the dark woods at a time he should not have been.
He was tall and brave, strong and perseverant, that much you knew and that much was certain. It was why you liked him so much, it was why you spared him.
But who was he?
He was no real threat to you and that was all that mattered.
You smiled softly, bemused and smitten, when his nose crinkled in his sleep. You gently dusted away a stray blonde hair that had fallen out of place.
You seemed to have bothered him then, because not a moment later did his head turn slightly and his lips part to exhale — he was waking up.
Finally.
You settled your hands back in your lap before he could notice, staring down at him with a sweet, welcoming smile in hopes to comfort him as his eyes fluttered open to look at you.
You gazed back into them delightedly.
Mm, they were brown.

Nanami had woken up with an ache in his skull and a sting behind his eyes, lost in a daze of twisted black thickets and enticing blue ponds; the sensation of featherlight fingers tracing his cheek tickled his brain and made his skin itch.
The first thing he smelt when he came to was blueberry pie and sugar, the sweetness of it making his mouth water but his stomach twist.
He wanted to eat something, badly, but he also wanted to throw up.
The air was warm around him, comfortable and pleasant, his sore back laid on something soft and plushy. He didn’t feel any reason for panic as he found himself melting into the comforter — whatever the hell it was he couldn’t be certain — against his better judgment.
Nanami tried to gather some sort of sensation in his body, tried wiggling his fingers and his toes but all he felt was nothing, numbness. He couldn’t even feel the pain radiating in his leg anymore.
He found that worrisome; maybe it was finally his time, maybe his luck had finally run out. Maybe he was lying face down in the forest floor right now as his mind conjured up the smell of his favorite pie and the feigned comfort of his mattress as a sweet gesture to bid him a final farewell.
Hell, if death was this peaceful he would’ve never been so against it.
Then he felt another whisper of skin across his forehead, soft and untraceable. If it wasn’t for the stark coldness of whatever it was touching him he would’ve missed it.
With the coldness making his skin shiver Nanami quickly found himself grounded back to reality. He wasn’t dead, he couldn’t be. Death didn’t exhibit the mundane concepts of hot or cold; temperature had no purpose in a void of nothing.
He was very much alive if the sound of his heart beating in his ears and the chill on his forehead was anything to go by. He even felt the tips of his fingers tingle as feeling came over them again, numbness having lingered in his bones for far too long.
He somehow found the strength to open his eyes.
For a brief moment he saw a blurred vision of black and blue. The shadow of a pale, azure colored light shining from somewhere, flickering in and out. It made a headache settle into the cracks of his skull and spread a torturous ache throughout his head.
He couldn’t stop the groan from leaving his lips as his hand flinched up towards his temple.
“Oh no, it seems you have some head trauma, it’s best not to strain yourself right now.”
It was a voice, soft spoken, barely above a whisper that piqued his interest immediately.
His vision focused on you once the pain faded; the girl next to his bed side with glittering dark eyes and a wickedly charming smile, wearing a baby blue colored dress embroidered with delicate flower designs; vines and flowers all intertwined in a tangled mess of thorns and petals that reminded him so greatly of the dark wood.
A sheer, glittering lily white shawl was loosely hung around your shoulders, hair in wavy tendrils down to your waist that pooled around your thighs. You were certainly pretty and unassuming.
He could tell you were a frail little thing, gossamery and lovely in a dainty sort of way but he also knew better than to underestimate you; appearances always deceived and there was no greater trick than the feigned purity of an impure thing.
Thankfully, he was not one easily fooled.
Nanami looked back up at you after a quick study of your form — your posture and seemingly innocent facade that did nothing to comfort him — so he just stared at you distrustfully, dark brown eyes narrowed cautiously. He noted the feigned sweetness of your lips as they curved into a small smile and the mischievous twinkle in your eyes as you gazed down at him; he felt preyed upon, the same feeling he exhibited in the meadow.
Kento had been through enough near death experiences in his life to recognize a snake when he saw one, for even the devil had come as a beguiled serpent so who was he to know if you were any better? He felt uneasy under your vehement stare, like a mouse in a cobra pit.
It was peculiar and uncanny, you yourself were frightening and unusual, no doubt a cacophony of horrors wrapped in a cute little bow with pretty blue eyes. He knew you could have anyone fooled, but he was too good, too experienced in the matters of trickery to recognize a fellow trick when he saw one.
Nanami was on the cusp of your deception, giving you a heady stare from beneath stern eyes.
He subtly leaned further away from you.
You flickered your gaze between his stare with an amused look, noting the change in his aura surrounding him as he regarded you tentatively.
You were honestly impressed by how quickly he seemed to have caught on to your true nature, not all humans had the innate sense of danger that he did; something in his gut had told him you were a vile, dangerous thing, and his instincts were telling him to run.
Even though it was unfair to categorize you as such, it was only fair to assume, and not necessarily distinguished too far from the truth anyway.
You sympathized with his ornery skepticism, not wanting to scare him any further so you just smiled down at him in the sweetest way you could fathom. You waited patiently for him to gather his thoughts and wit. Although, it seemed his mind was already made up.
“How are you feeling?” You asked in a nonthreatening, soft tone, raising a hand and barely touching the flushed skin of his bare chest, only enough for your fingertips to graze across his skin and grab his attention.
You were pleasantly thrilled at the feeling of his warmth under your fingertips, but Nanami just shuddered like a ghost had touched his bare soul with cold, lifeless hands.
His dark eyes quickly flickered down to where your hand had touched him, covering it with his palm like you had just struck him. Your fingertips seemed to have jolted his skin with a sudden frigid coldness that throbbed through his veins and made his heart stutter. He flinched at the shock of it, not seeing the way you had to bite back a smirk at his indignation.
He looked up at you with a sharp inhale, “I’m quite fine,” Nanami cleared his throat and tried to sit up straighter in an attempt to look half as intimidating as you did, “now who are you?”
You smiled at him, already loving the sound of his voice as he spoke to you; smooth, sharp, demanding, washing over your skin like the warm water of a hot spring. He was entirely too serious and you were too smitten. You could hear the underlying hatred he seemed to already have for you, hear the way his heart raced in his chest and see the way his fist tightly clenched the blanket between his long fingers.
You made him nervous and he made you pathetically giddy. You didn’t care about his fear however, for he would soon learn to become accustomed to you given the proper time spent together. All you really needed was just a little patience until then, after all, could you really blame him for being a bit standoffish given his bizarre situation?
You felt amusement pull at your lips as you folded your hands back into your lap, looking down at him with navy blue pools that reminded him so much of the pond he had so eagerly drank from, “Your savior. You’re welcome for that by the way.”
Nanami leered at you, the hair standing up on his arms as you spoke. Your voice was sweet enough but coated with undertones of something more sarcastic, something more sinister.
“Savior? I sincerely doubt that.”
You felt your smile pull harder at his pride; you couldn’t help it, he was like a frightened squirrel shrinking away from you with his tail between his legs, but trying desperately hard to appear like he wasn’t.
You heard the hardness in his voice though, the rigidness in his tone, the overcompensation for fear.
“Well, how do you explain where you are then? I hardly believe you got here on your own.” You teased him, gesturing to the dimly lit room around you and granting him a large, impish grin.
Nanami didn’t bother looking around, keeping his eyes narrowed in on your face and his hand on his stomach; he didn’t trust not having his eyes on you.
“Whatever the case may be… I can assure you I’m fine. I don’t need whatever it is you’re offering, and quite frankly, I don’t want it.”
You sighed lethargically at his stubborn insistence, staring at him for a moment as your shoulders slumped.
“Is that so? Then stand and walk out. I’m not stopping you traveler. You’re free to do as you please.” You teased him once more with a smirk on your face, gesturing towards the exit behind you — a rectangular opening in the wooden wall shielded by strings of diamond hanging off the top rim.
Of course, you knew he couldn’t leave anyway.
Nanami glanced at where you were pointing coldly, intrigued by the glances of blue-green trees — it seemed like — peeking through the swaying beads.
He didn’t move his head, only his eyes, considering.
There was no way you would just let him walk out that door.
He looked back at you, then looked down at his foot which he had almost forgotten about. It was heavily wrapped in big blue-green leaves he didn’t recognize, sealed tight with a sticky, glossy coating. He raised his brow curiously, face stoic.
You followed his gaze with a knowing smile, “Oh, that’s right… you can’t walk.” You looked back up at him, grin having not left your face.
Nanami clenched his jaw at the cheery way you seemed to say it. His biceps strained as he adjusted in the bed to sit against the wall completely, ignoring the ache in his spine and the heaviness sat on his broad shoulders. Flowers tickled the back of his neck and a small fur blanket slid off his hips as he did.
You stared heatedly at the flexing veins in his arms and the tightness of his abs, the smoothness of his human skin and the rigid curves of muscle on his virile body; he was beautiful and magnificent, like a diamond tenderly molted and pressed over the course of eons. Only a god who truly loved him could dedicate such time and care to carve him — every muscle and vein, from the tips of his toes to the strings of his blonde hair he was perfection.
You couldn’t let him leave you, not now, not after you’ve heard the whiskey smoothness of his voice and seen the chocolate of his brown eyes. He was everything you wanted and everything you desired.
Nanami swallowed once he was settled, glaring at you with his fist bundled in the black fur of the blanket you had laid on him.
“I can tend to my own wounds, I never asked for your help. I wish to go back home.”
You couldn’t help but giggle at him, raising a hand and covering your mouth as you did.
“Home? Your home is far away, you need to rest.” You laughed at him like he was silly, attempting to lay a consoling hand on his thigh with blue and white crystal bracelets jangling on your wrist.
Nanami gripped your hand before you could touch him however, keeping it locked in a tight grip between his strong fingers. He ignored the coldness of your skin in his grasp while your heart jumped at the feel of his warm palm wrapped around you.
“I don’t have the patience for your games. Where have you taken me and what do you plan to do with me?”
You huffed at the rudeness in his tone, slowly pulling your hand out of his grasp and laying it back in your lap.
You couldn’t help but roll your eyes at him.
“Could you stop being so hostile? I’m not going to hurt you… besides, if I wanted you dead would I have patched your leg? Would I have cleaned you? Would I have brought you to my home?” You said exasperated, giving him an annoyed look as impatience settled over your blood like a thin sheen of syrup over a plate of berries.
That was a flaw of yours, your impatience.
Nanami looked down at his body when you mentioned it, seeing that he was now wearing a white button up shirt with the buttons left undone, his broad chest exposed to you in a way he didn’t doubt you orchestrated. His lower half however was merely covered in a set of blue striped boxers he heavily recognized as one of his own.
He clenched his jaw at that, feeling exposed and vulnerable in a whole new definition of the word.
“Don’t worry I didn’t bathe you per se. Just washed away the dirt I could find on the already exposed areas.” You leaned closer to him with a playful smile, voice a teasing whisper, “I didn’t peek, promise.”
Nanami cocked his head at you, “No pants?” He deadpanned, ignoring your previous statement.
You flickered your eyes down to the blue boxers he wore, then back up to his face with the same kittenish smile on your lips.
“Oops. I must’ve forgot.” You lied flawlessly if only nonchalantly, leaning back away from him to your original sitting position.
Nanami frowned at that; he almost sneered at you, but managed to remain calm as he stared at you with irritation inflamed in his brown eyes.
You bit your lip to hide a widening smile.
“Well, did you hear what I said? I’m not trying to hurt you. I found you lying in the grass covered in your own blood and dirt… I thought you were dead, I would have felt guilty if I just left you there. So I brought you to my home and I fixed your leg. I did a rather nice job, don’t ya think?” You spared him a story that wasn’t necessarily a lie but not necessarily the whole truth either. It was a simpler version of events you knew he’d have no problem brushing off.
Nanami, of course, didn’t believe you anyway. He believed you had found him, yes, but not how you had claimed to. He believed there was more to the story, details you pointedly overlooked and purposefully forgotten.
He swallowed tensely, his strong body stiff and rigid like he was preparing for something to happen, heart beating in his ears and anticipation buzzing at his finger tips.
He wanted to question you, ask every question and hear every answer but he was too smart to blatantly antagonize someone he didn’t know. He knew you were off, maybe not entirely there, but he didn’t know what you were in the sense of your capabilities. He knew your small frame was misleading, your wide smile deceptive, your pretty little eyes twinkling stars of mischief behind glittering pools of blue.
You weren’t to be trusted and you weren’t to be taken lightly; you were strange and otherworldly beautiful; a kind of deadly combination he’s never had good experiences with in the past. Sirens were enticing just as you but nowhere near as cunning, pirates were fearless just as he but nowhere near as smart.
He refused to be the drunken, belligerent fool falling into your deep, hungry waters.
“Could you tell me your name? That way, we won’t be strangers.”
He eyed you with a clenched jaw and narrowed eyes, knowing he needed to play this silly game of yours the right way if he ever planned on getting out of here. If things went according to plan you would soon be the pliable object of his carefully curated manipulation, the one with all the questions and none of the answers, the trickster who would soon be the tricked.
He gave you a disinterested, cautious look, raising his chin at you, “Kento. And yours?” He replied shortly, not necessarily interested in hearing anything you had to say but knowing it was better to play along with your delusion than reap the consequences of not.
You hummed pleasurably at that, ignoring his question altogether, “Kento…”
You beamed at the sound of his name despite his impudence, loving the sound of it being pronounced in your voice, the way your tongue moved around every letter in your mouth as you said it.

He could see the almost manic look in your eye as you looked at him. He was disturbed by it, tried to lean away but couldn’t, already pressed as flat as he could be against your black, wooden wall.
You bared him a wide smile that glimmered the whiteness of your sharp teeth, “We’re going to have so much fun together…”
