So my issue is that the quests are not completing when they should. This has not been fixed in the latest patch. I'm sad because I was really enjoying the reapers rewards but I haven't been able to participate in them all. It is not a mod issue. I have played with no mods and there are people submitting bug reports who have the same problem on console.

I hope that EA allows all users to get the rewards regardless of how far they got. Mine glitched at Week 4 but I know people who had it glitch in the first couple of weeks. I know it may not seem fair to those who worked hard on completing the tasks, but from the sounds of it a lot of players experienced issues. Plus I'm on team if even only a couple of people had genuine non mod bugs you should give the reward to all players anyway...

The Ryoko Kui interview's reception is such a disaster over a pretty normal (yet still flawed) interview between a non-Japanese fan and Japanese artistic. This is discourse for discourse's sake, and it's no surprise that almost every Twitter user I've looked at who's using this interview to parade Kui around as a goated mangaka standing strong against Western ideology is anti-trans.

Like, I do think the interview was kinda wonky with its focus on fandom culture, which Kui clearly didn't have much interest in. But sometimes that happens. Sometimes interactions between two people, especially a fan and a creator, two people who view and interact with a piece of media in completely opposite perspectives, don't click. Does this really need to get blown up into a "West vs. East culture war" issue.

Anyways, Kui saying "I don't consider my audience's interpretations when writing. I leave it to their imaginations, but I have my own read on things too" is the healthiest, most normal thing an artist/writer who wants a non-parasocial audience could say. Artists and writers use this line all the time. If Kui didn't enjoy autistic Laius or Farcille headcanons, she would have probably voiced/signalled her discomfort, like she did on the topic of Senshi fanservice. Overall, Kui handled the interview really well. Props to her to sticking to her guns and keeping a healthy disconnect from the fandom. While I think the interviewer could've/should've been more tactful and restrained, the flaws in their questions is not a symptom of the woke mind virus trying to wriggle its way into the pure Japanese psyche. It's the sign of an over-eager fan who sees a piece of fiction differently than its creator.

New crack radiostatic theory: the fallout between them was actually entirely in Vox’s head, and as far as Alastor is concerned, they’re still friends who just enjoy messing with each other. To him, “Stayed Gone” was just banter, and he has absolutely no animosity towards Vox whatsoever. When the Vees inevitably start shit in season two and everyone expects him to deal with them, he’ll just be confused, like “Why would I attack Vox? Thinking about why Zoro and Sanji's rivalry is so important to both of their characters beyond 'just a gag.' To Zoro, Sanji is the closest thing to Kuina that he has now. Not in the sense of an obstacle he needs to overcome, that's Mihawk, but rather as a rival, he is constantly competing against and pushing him forward in a way even Luffy really can't since while Luffy reminds Zoro of the finish line and his goals, Sanji is the baby steps, he is a representation of getting them and their bickering is the reminder that he has to keep getting stronger and that, even if he hasn't reached where he wants to get yet, he is improving because Sanji is improving and he can't let him become stronger than he is.

Then there is Sanji. I honestly think that Sanji really looks up to Zoro, more so than any other Strawhat. He has done so from the moment they met, and Zoro proclaimed to Luffy he wouldn't lose again. He admires Zoro's strength, yes, and his ability to protect those he cares about without needing to change who he really is, but he also admires Zoro's ambition, his determination to keep going no matter the odds, how important he has made himself to be due to sheer force of will alone and deep down he craves that, to be important and wanted for who he is, but believes himself to be less important than Zoro.

I think that is particularly clear during the 'nothing happened' scene. Sanji offered himself to die there because he thought he was the least important of the straw hats. He owed his life to them, particularly Zoro and Luffy. Zoro, however, offered himself because he refused to see another person he loved die like Kuina did. Sanji was ready to die for that exchange. Zoro wasn't, he was trying to hold on to life until the very end, but he was willing to for the sake of his captain and his crew.

I think that the tragedy of their relationship is that I don't think either of them truly understand the other at all, despite understanding the other better than anyone else in the crew besides Luffy. They don't truly understand how much the other truly cares about them, and so they end up thinking their relationship is considerably more superficial than it actually is.
