“I’m totally going to go sit with that kid.” You said, holding your lunch tray as you walked with your friend in the cafeteria. 

“Seriously? Dude we have to plan that project. It’s due in two weeks!” Jess scowled at the smirk that appeared on your face. 

“It’s a song about photosynthesis! It'll take thirty minutes to write. We can use existing songs for it too.” She raised an eyebrow at you, rolling her eyes. 

“Fine, but we’re planning it this week. I’m not waiting til the last minute again.” You smiled guiltily as you thanked her and walked over to the kid. He had just started at the school a couple of days ago, saying he had been homeschooled his entire life. As you walked up to the table, a strand of long black hair fell in front of his face. He blew it back into place. 

“Hey!” He looked up, startled. “Would you mind if I sat here?” He shook his head and you sat down. “Not really a talker huh?” He chuckled, looking up at you again. 

“Nice hair.” He smiled. It looked genuine so you assumed it wasn’t an insult. You had it colored a brighter color than usual, wanting a change. “How much did that cost?” He asked, tilting his head. 

“Practically nothing. Got my own way of doing it that’s super efficient. And cheap.” You smiled, grabbing your lunch. “Ooh yay, pizza that tastes like cardboard.” You said sarcastically while tapping the pizza crust on the edge of the tray. “Hard as a rock too.” 

“Meh, I've eaten worse.” 

“Ooh~” You rested your head on your fists, pizza still in hand. “Do tell!” He looked down with a laugh covered by his hand. 

“Nah, don’t wanna spoil your lunch.”

it was such a good and fun read and i loved the april characterization it was so STRONG and lesbianism was happening ohh what more could you want. go read it if you ever care april and casey. if i could do an entire comic for this entire fic i would but as you can see from this unfinished art i simply have no time these days
