i don’t think death threats and shit are justified ever and people ought not send them, especially over motorsport, but it does irk me how some norris fans are straw-manning this into ‘we just think it’s toxic to hate on ANY drivers for existing and doing nothing wrong’ as if people who don’t like him have no developed reasoning and they’re taking a stand against hate broadly when i dislike norris for valid reasons based on his past behavior, not just for shits and giggles

U.S. blockade of Cuba causes electricity system to collapse due to lack of stable fuel supply
On Sunday, Oct. 20, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel pointed directly at the blockade policy of the United States government as the fundamental cause of the national collapse of the National Electric Power System (SEN) over the past few days. It is not complicated and it is not rhetoric that Cuba’s lack of a stable supply of fuel is because of the threats of fines that the US government through its Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has levied on banks, shipping companies and any other enterprise attempting to trade with Cuba.

A starter guide for how US politics work
Tumblr media
🗳️ More below 🗳️:
Legislative Branch:
House of Representatives is GOP controlled. Want bills passed? There needs to be 218 in favor of said bill and since the House Speaker is Mike Johnson; he and the GOP are up Trump’s asshole
Senate is Democratically controlled. However, for bills to pass there needs to be a 60 Senate Majority and the Senate is 51-49.
Executive Branch is self explanatory. That said, no the President can’t do whatever they want when it comes to bills because this isn’t a monarchy but a democracy
The Judicial Branch:
SCOTUS. A 6-3 Conservative majority with three seats that will be replaced. Vote so Roe V Wade can be restored and protected. Also want the court expanded and 18 year term limits? Vote Kamala Harris and vote Blue down ballot.
Also all those pesky ass judges that keep helping out their fellow pervs and assholes in the states? Vote Blue and make sure to check out your local elections.

And once again a reminder about third party candidates:

And let’s stop the cycle as to why things don’t get done

if you live in the usa and want to stop trump from taking office there's a candidate we can all rally behind that isn't wholeheartedly supporting genocide and is running on a platform of actual leftism and liberation!! IF THE LEFT CAN UNITE TO BACK BIDEN (and people on here scolding and berating people for not voting for him certainly believe we can and should) THEN WE CAN UNITE TO BACK SOMEONE ELSE. VOTE CLAUDIA DE LA CRUZ

actually so tired of hearing “i dont know any of the candidates” “they all suck” “ill just do a straight ticket” “im not voting bc i dont have enough info” FIND IT!! and im so serious.. this is my first time voting n this is basically all ive heard with little to no info on how to actually find resources and information about voting. mind you this is the presidental election so i can only image how state and local elections will go… so i made this canva infographic with multiple sites that can show you your ballots, upcoming elections and information on candidates. share to all those “i dont vote” “im not informed enough” people. albeit late but remember LOCAL ELECTIONS MATTER !! also voting for upcoming bills etc!

People will really cry about the “lesser of two evils” and then insist that we need to stick to the system that only ever produces two evil choices
If your house is up in flames do you go to the room that’s least on fire? No, you leave the damn house
Edit: I’m advocating for getting rid of the two party system, not leaving the country

plain text: Harris, Trump, Sherman, Stein, De La Cruz, West, Kennedy, Other, None.
please reblog for further range :)
But! Just note:
genocide-apologism/denial tags or comments, including anything along the lines of "But x would be worse..." gets you an immediate block.
If you claim that third party is useless you will be blocked.
If you demonize people who do not vote you will be blocked.
Make your own polls if you want to spout that crap.

The racist campaign against the Haitian community in Springfield, Ohio, is dangerous and must be stopped.
Both Donald Trump and his running mate, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, are fanning the flames of racial hatred. They’re claiming that Haitians living in Springfield are eating people’s pets. Billionaire Elon Musk repeated these lies to his nearly 200 million followers on X (formerly known as Twitter).
These ludicrous allegations using racist stereotypes can’t be regarded as a mere joke, as many candidates of the Democratic Party are doing. They are the stuff that can lead to mob violence.

Gideon Taaffe and Chloe Simon at MMFA:
Following Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s speech at the Democratic National Convention, some in right-wing media are launching a desperate attack on Walz, claiming he misrepresented his role as a coach with his high school football team.   The attacks tried to minimize Walz’s role in taking a struggling high school football team to state championship by highlighting that Walz was a volunteer and bizarrely claiming he was “never a football coach” but an “assistant coach.”
The attacks on Walz, which started earlier this month, show how little right-wing media know about football
Walz accepted the Democratic nomination for vice president on Wednesday in a speech that highlighted, among other things, his role on the coaching staff at the high school where he taught. At no point did Walz claim to be head coach, and he even alluded to his role as a defensive coordinator in his speech, saying, “I wound up teaching social studies and coaching football at Mankato West High School. Go Scarlets! We ran a 4-4 defense, played through the whistle every single down, and even won a state championship.” [CBS News, 8/22/24]
Right-wing media had previously been attacking Walz for supposedly misrepresenting his coaching role, and then during the DNC, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump attacked Walz with the same claim. Right-wing journalist Raheem Kassam wrote on August 8, “Was Tim Walz even the head coach? Some records suggest otherwise” and called him “Water Boy Walz!” Newsmax’s Bianca de la Garza claimed the same day that Walz “was an assistant coach, a defensive coordinator, actually, not the championship-winning, banner-hanging head coach that the media wants you to believe he is.” Trump ally Laura Loomer posted, “Why is the media allowing this lie to continue? … He was an ASSISTANT COACH.” Then on August 22, Trump posted to Truth Social: “Walz was an ASSISTANT Coach, not a COACH.” [NBC News, 1/14/24; Twitter/X, 8/8/24; Newsmax, Prime News, 8/8/24; Twitter/X, 8/9/24; Truth Social, 8/22/24]
SBNation: “Slamming Tim Walz’s football resume is a weird way to say you don’t know ball.” SBNation pointed out that defensive coordinators are essential to a team’s success, concluding, “We can disagree about a lot of things in the country. We can argue over how government is supposed to operate. We have to be united in giving defensive coordinators the respect they deserve.” [SBNation, 8/22/24]
Trashy right-wingers whine about Tim Walz’s coaching status.
