Take the opportunity to discredit the country’s oldest organization devoted to combatting antisemitism.

Regardless of if you think the ADL made the right call here or not- the ADL is operating in crisis mode. They (like all of us Jews) are in way over their heads, and it is sooooo not AOC’s place to criticize how they chose to respond.

As a gentile- you do not get a say in how Jews and Jewish organizations respond to antisemitism.

The Jewish community is outraged not only by Muskrat, but by the ADL's spineless response.

But don't let actual Jewish opinions on this behaviour stop you from spreading your hatred AOC, I mean you haven't so far.

jews have been sounding the alarm about the rise of antisemitism and neo-nazi rhetoric around the world for years now, and have been largely dismissed by all sides of the political spectrum. they’re playing the victim, they’re exaggerating, they’re lying, they’re a distraction from other more important issues, etc etc.

i hope this can be a wakeup call for many. if this is shocking to you, i urge you to find jewish voices and creators to follow. antisemitism is a canary in the coal mine for fascism and jewish people are the ones most equipped to recognize it and oppose it.

we will all need each other more than ever for what’s to come. make sure the coalitions and networks you build include jewish people too.

AOC talked on her instagram story about how every large social media platform right now has been bought by right wing politics. Twitter with Elon, Instagram and Facebook with Mark, Tiktok with Trump… I am not too informed on what goes on behind closed doors of Tumblr staff but I truly and sincerely hope that Tumblr will remain as one of the true authentic leftist spaces we have.

I find AOC going, "We need comprehensive data protection for Americans, but the tech lobbyists are fighting to prevent that," pretty rich.

Especially when you consider the US govt has yet to rescind things like the Patriot Act, DHS, ICE, and widespread drone use on dissenting Americans.

These people's hands aren't tied, and they're not beholden to people with less power than they have. If the govt didn't want to surveil Americans and stalk them into the grave to uphold the surveillance state, they wouldn't.

No amount of tech lobbying throwing a fit about EU-type privacy laws barring them from direct information would stop them.

Going off on a tangent here-

The ADL very rarely condemns individual antisemites. It’s not really something they do.

Something they do very well is writing up persuasive Amicus Curiae briefings.

(For those of you who may not be familiar, in the US an Amicus Curiae (lit. Friend of the Court) briefing can be submitted by a third party at the discretion of the presiding court.
