I think a thing that people get wrong about Jason's anger is that it's not explosive.

It's cold. Jason isn't the type of person who storms off at every little thing or goes throwing tantrums and setting things on fire blindfully.

He's the type of person who's very practical. He keeps to himself, always. You rarely see issues where Jason's anger is reactive at the moment where the trigger happens to him. If you see his character up close, most of the time when he's triggered his reaction is calm. Even cold.

He gets triggered -> He keeps to himself → He makes a plan → And then he reacts.

Jason's anger being something explosive and out of character and out of place is actually how other people (characters) see it, because they have no idea on how it's playing out on Jason's head.

And that's a thing you can see operating since he was a child.

Where the only exceptions about this effect is either when someone he believes needs his help is involved.

But In Batman #411 when Jason learns the fact that Two-Face was responsible for his father's death and Bruce was keeping that from him as a secret his first reaction isn't to blow up on him.

Was to seethe.

Bruce goes up home after dealing with a Two-Face case (in my field we call that poetic irony) and asks Alfred where Jason is, Alfred's answer is that he's been sleeping all day (which is a conclusion that Alfred drew probably after going to check on Jason and seeing him in fact on his bed all day).

But when you see the next panel, even though he is on the bed, He's fully awake and both his expression and his body language shows that he's in fact angry.

This is the first time he appears again in the comics after learning that Two Face killed his dad.

Jason doesn't go towards Bruce immediately to demand an explanation or ask why he did this, or even to throw the truth on his face.

(Which could be debatable that that's something the Dick would usually do, but I'm not that literate on Dick's comics)

His reaction wasn't immediate.

His reaction was to go to his bed and stay quiet. Jason stayed calm and collected the whole trip until meeting Two Face again.

But the moment Jason as Robin has the opportunity to get his hands on Two-Face he does this

From Bruce, and maybe Alfred's perspective it could be interpreted as out of place or him storming off.

But it isn't. Jason was able to keep his cool (even though he shut off), until he was face a face to Two Face.

Does that mean he planned that to happen?

That's debatable, in any moment of this issue it is shown that Jason was actually planning to get to Two Face and do this. I my personal opinion, other and much more plausible explanation is: That he was in fact trying to keep to himself but couldn't hold back the moment that he saw his dad's murder.

You can see the same thing happening as Jason learns that Batman got another Robin in Red Hood: Lost Days.

Talia asks "You all right?" and Jason's first answer is "Sure Why Wouldn't I Be Alright?"

When he's alone he finally has the moment to break down.

(Actually both Red Hood: The lost days and Batman: Under the Red Hood are great case studies on how that usually play out on Jason's head.)

Jason is way more in control of his emotions than people ever give him credit for. The thing is that Jason holds it back until he either blows off or is capable to throw it back in someone's face.

You have been in the form of a sheep ever since you came to the Devildom. It can be quite inconvenient at times, but life finds a way.

This particular morning, you were awoken in the early hours of the morning by an odd murmur. It was impossible to gauge the time, given the Devildom's eternal night, but something instinctual told you it was too early for whatever nonsense was about to happen.

Fighting your heavy eyelids, you turned your head. Seven demons were sitting on the floor beside your bed, staring at you.

"You're awake!" Leviathan proclaimed.

"I told you the noise would wake them," Lucifer sighed.

"We were being quiet, though," Belphegor remarked.

"Good morning, sunshine!" Asmodeus greeted you.

"Shut it! It's happenin'!" Mammon caused the room to go silent again.

If you've learned anything in the Devildom, it's that even sheep deserve privacy. You dragged yourself into a sitting position and bleated, "what's happening?"

"We're checking the weather," Satan informed you.

"It's a tradition of sorts," Beelzebub explained.

"Can't you do that... literally anywhere else?" The second half of your question got obscured by a yawn, but you were sure you made your point. "What time even is it?"

"It's 6:03," Leviathan said.

"In the morning? Are you guys kidding me?"

As you sighed a grumpy sigh and rubbed the sleep from your eyes, Satan called your name.

"What?"

"Have you checked your shadow?" he asked.

"Huh? What do you mean, checked it?"

"Did you see it?" Belphegor asked.

"My shadow?" There was hardly any light, let alone light strong enough to cast a shadow on your bed. You twisted your neck to look around. "I have no idea what you're talking about..."

"No shadow!" Mammon exclaimed, so loud you almost fell over again.

Lucifer nodded his head, hand placed thoughtfully on chin. "Spring will likely come early this year. I'll inform Diavolo."

Asmodeus launched himself at your spot on the bed. Before you could stop him, he had you lifted in the air. "You're the best!"

Everybody clapped. Leviathan was going on about "the springtime of youth" finally arriving, while Beelzebub said they'd all have to get hot pot one last time before it went out of season. Important context about what just happened was clearly missing, but you've learned that sometimes you need to just go with the flow.

You dangled ragdoll-style from Asmodeus' hands while he did a little dance and wondered if they'd all let you go back to sleep.

You know they won't. Happy Groundhog Day! Looks like irl we've got 6 more weeks of winter.

The Guide telling Nandor that he's all about the conquest and not the victory is so damn cathartic cause I've been seeing WAY too many people accusing him of acting out of character. He's not. This is how he is. He's a war lord and is only interested in shit he can't have. Once he gets it, he looses interest and moves onto something else. This is what he has done through this entire damn series. It's one of his most obvious and consistent character flaws he has. He's a warrior. He likes to fight and you can not fight if there is nothing to fight FOR.

the thing that doesn't make sense to me regarding the "he was putting her career on the line" POV is that there's no previous behavior from abbot that makes that believable to me. abbot faked a teenager's exams (w/o her knowledge) so she could get an abortion, told another doctor said teenager was getting back for the pills and didn't seem to care that robby could very easily find out what he did, reprimanded but immediately praised santos for doing a risky procedure she wasn't allowed to and took every opportunity he got to do procedures the hospital board wouldn't allow on the daily. nothing from his behavior told me he would put someone else's career on the line with something we were shown he's very capable of doing. add that to mohan's arc this season and the possibility of that POV being the case becomes nonexistent to me. it never even crossed my mind before checking what people were saying about the episode. i read it as a joke bc nothing else shown would tell me it wasn't.

comparing it to robby and david's situation: it was Not a surprise how robby reacted after david was proven innocent from the shooting. he was a bit more asshole-ish to how he'd probably react in a normal day, especially after a breakdown, but where he stood on the whole situation was not new. we were shown and told robby could react like that; we were shown and told abbot didn't care about what could happen to him or his career if a patient's health was on the way

AKFNEKDNKSDN THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN!!!! Okay THIS ONE is such a doozy and one of my fave things ive written that just hasnt really seen the light of day yet, which is really funny bc i'd already sank at least a three full days worth of research into it by the time i got anything actually written

The general premise is, well, exactly what it says on the tin: Scar proposes to Grian in 3rd life without ever ACTUALLY saying the words, bc Grian is a flighty little guy and theyve been dancing around each other since Grian accidentally took his first life. The whole thing is a very fun and interesting relationship exploration of scarian, what brings them together, and features Grian trying to use the safety net of "well if he wants this and im on Green then i have to do it" to deny his own feelings.... right up until he literally cant.

I dont wanna give too much away, but the things ive had to research for this include: ancient tattoo ink-making practices, how viable cactus spines are to make a needle, how to carve rabbit bone into a needle, the exact application process of stick and poke tattoos (a guide which even included visual steps), and how long it takes sugarcane juice to ferment into vinegar. Bc its scarian, so they CANNOT be normal about their not wedding vows.

Grian stares at him. At any other point, he’d be unimpressed, but something about Scar’s words beg him to take this seriously. It makes Grian’s wings itch to flare, to protect him from the vulnerability of this moment and how all-encompassing Scar's eyes are on his. But his wings are clipped; there’s nowhere to fly. Where would he even go? He chose to be here— this is his home, between sandstone and sky, in the liminal spaces between Scar’s fingers. He lifts his hand and places it in Scar’s, light as a feather. Scar’s hand is warm in his, fingers rough and calloused. The heat of it sparks beneath Grian’s skin, a static shock he nearly flinches from on instinct. And then Scar’s hand is shifting beneath his, gathering his fingers into his own, thumb sweeping over the back of his hand. Scar’s eyes never leave his as he lifts Grian’s hand to his lips and folds the softest, most reverent of kisses into his knuckles. Despite the freezing air, despite the way the sun is hours from rising, Grian burns. “Partners ‘til the end,” Scar whispers into his skin, and goosebumps race up Grian’s entire arm. It takes all his self control not to rip his hand back— it’s too much, too soon, and while they’ve been dancing around this since Grian took Scar’s first life, they’ve never stepped this close before. It makes him jittery, sends a bolt of adrenaline through his system. Grian takes a deep, shuddering breath, and forces himself to stay perfectly still. “Partners,” he agrees, and if it comes out a bit breathless, Scar doesn’t call him on it.

i just adore how in love marinette is, and how flustered she gets for a specific side of adrien which is NOT when he's trying to impress people as funny and charming chat noir (friend zoned) or as his public persona of cool and self-assured (she's fine with it but remember her natural reaction was eat the rich) no, she's gaga for him when he's basically just… there. just existing.

as cat walker, he was closer to that than his "yeah ik im cool ty" public persona, the point was to be as toned down as possible, no theatrics, so he was basically just who he is when he thinks of himself as Just Some Guy, which is supportive and gentlemanly cause those are his most immutable traits.

something i thought of while having gender feelings. so much of masculinity is performative, it's so tiring. most male leads reflect that, their main thing is physical prowess or leadership or stoicism. adrien is not about any of that. i can't tell yall how much i love that.

Older christianity. I mean the anti government, anti military, community based christianity. The one that cared the most about peace, equality, mercy, kindness, and radical love. The one with shared property. The one that didn't conform to society but instead existed mostly outside of it. The one where noone considered one sin worse than another because in the end, we are all sinners trying our best to be better.

A Guide On Lessening Yourself

(Or, What To Do Before They Cut You Open)

This guide has been created to prepare you for your upcoming procedure. Please read carefully and follow all directions in order to have the safest experience.

- Do not eat. (Required; at least 3 hours before the procedure starts. No meats, no vegetables, no grains, and especially no fruits. Any remaining food that is being digested will get in the way.)

- Do not drink. (Required; at least 2 hours before the procedure starts. No water, soda, juice, soup, milk, coffee, or energy drinks. Any remaining fluids will get in the way.)

- Do not bleed. (Required; at least 1 month before the procedure. No paper cuts, nosebleeds, injuries or other form of your own blood leaving your body. Restriction of the expression of your mortality is imperative.)

- Do not dream. (Strongly suggested; at least 1 month before the procedure starts. No daydreams, no hopes, no wishes, no lifelong goals, and no nightmares. Avoid losing yourself within any fantastical trappings - these are the vestiges of a mortal mind.)

TIPS:

BEFORE

This experience usually lasts around 20 seconds, but some say it feels like an eternity of blinding, searing light. I'm so mad actually I can't believe some people took this scene in chapter 3 and turned it into a who's right about their grief when the scene in chapter 4 literally has ivypool saying I don't mean to make it all about me- haven't thought much about how dovewing is handling her own grief- people read chapter 3 and to me it seems as if chapter 4 doesn't even exist and the rest of what ivypool says in chapter three after saying this doesn't as well
