told one of my friends about Fablehaven/Dragonwatch today and I was like “but don’t read it tho” So they were like “what’s wrong with it?”
(Now they often read books that make you wanna throw them across the room, so they’re used to that sort of thing) And I was like “Do you want me to start with the first book?” long story short I think I traumatized them
#fablehaven#dragonwatch#fhdw#Things I brought up:#Ruth being a chicken and the family eating her eggs#Ruth turning back into a human without the proper attire#Seth turning into a half walrus half human thing and then it’s never brought up again#Seth aging unnaturally until the fairy frees him and it’s never brought up again#The massages given to Nero#Which isn’t as bad but still#The milk scene 💀#The fact that kendra and seth drank milk STRAIGHT FROM THE BUCKET#Which would be EXTREMELY HOT and have a lot of bacteria#Seth and Kendra getting traumatized on the festival night which is rarely ever brought up again#Some other things I probably forgot#i’ll shut up now

Over the years the Fallout fandom definitely has slowly crept further into a “moral high ground over suspension of disbelief” space. I see a lot of people discussing their opinions of Fallout through the lens of their own personal morals that they’d apply to their own life, which is… Strange to me. I feel like dystopian media especially is not the sort of thing you should be judging by your own real life standards. Most things in Fallout are extreme. Most of the factions do extreme things. A lot of the things people do in Fallout would be considered inhumane, cruel or uncanny by modern standards. Because it’s a post-apocalyptic dystopia.
This isn’t me saying “everyone in Fallout is evil, stop expecting otherwise,” because I don’t believe that to be the case. Even good-willed people in Fallout do shit that would be considered extreme by modern standards. I just see a lot of people shying away from discussing the “grittier” aspects of the franchise because it might for whatever reason imply you condone those things in real life.
#I personally think fallout plays into themes of hope and humanity’s drive to rebuild so#the whole raa wasteland makes everybody bad take isn’t my thing#but still. my point here is more that it’s hard to discuss evil factions in fallout without it being like.#taken as a testament to your own beliefs#part of the fun of fallout is observing people doing weird shit in a dystopian setting#part of what makes it compelling too#fallout#which there’s a strange phenomenon going on#wherein tumblr advocates for the separation of fiction and real world morals#and yet I feel like I’ve seen this trend in the fallout community#it’s ok to talk about the legion without reiterating how bad they are every other word i promise

Historians having takes on frev women that make me go 😐 compilation
Sexually frustrated in her marriage to a pompous civil servant much older than herself, [Madame Roland] may have found Danton’s celebrated masculinity rather uncomfortable. Danton (1978) by Norman Hampson, page 77.
The Robespierres sent their sister to Arras because that was their hometown, the family home, where they had relatives, uncles, aunts and friends, like Buissart who they didn’t cease to remain in correspondence with, even in the middle of the Terror. There, among them, Charlotte would not be alone; she would find advice, rest, the peace necessary to heal her nervousness and animosity. Away from Mme Ricard, who she hated, away from Mme Duplay, who she detested, she would enjoy auspicious calmness. It is Le Bon that the Robespierres will charge with escorting their sister to this neccessary and soothing exile. […] If there is a damning piece in Charlotte Robespierre's case, it is this one (her interrogation, held July 31 1794). She seems to be caught in the act of accusing this Maximilien whom she rehabilitates in her Memoirs. She is therefore indeed a hypocrite, unworthy of the great name she bears, and which she dishonors the very day after the holocaust of 10 Thermidor. Charlotte Robespierre et Guffroy (1910) in Annales Révolutionnaires, volume 3 (1910) page 322, and Charlotte Robespierre et ses mémoires (1909) page 93-94, both by Hector Fleishmann.
Elisabeth, as she was popularly called, was barely past her twelfth birthday, younger even by three years than Barere’s own mother when she was given in marriage. On the following day the guests assembled again in the little church of Saint-Martin at midnight to attend the wedding ceremony of the handsome charmer and the bewildered child. Dressed in white, clasping in her arms a yellow, satin-clad doll that Bertrand had given her — so runs the tradition — she marched timidly to the altar, looking more like a maiden making her first communion than a woman celebrating a binding sacrament. Perhaps the doll, if doll there was, filled her eye, but certainly she could not fail to note how handsome her husband was. Bertrand Barere; a reluctant terrorist (1962) by Leo Gershoy, page 32.
The young nun who bore the name of Hébert did not hide her fate. She did not wish to prolong a life stifled from her childhood in the cloister, branded in the world by the name she bore, fighting between horror and love for the memory of her husband, unhappy everywhere. Histoire des Girondins (1848) by Alphonse de Lamartine, volume 8, page 60.
Lucile in prison showed more calmness than Camille. Before the tribunal, she seemed to possess neither fear nor hope, she denied having taken an active role in the prison conspiracy. What did it matter to her the answer they were trying to extract from her? They said they wanted her guilty? Very well! She would be condemned and join Camille. This was what she said again when she was told that she would suffer the same fate as her husband: ”Oh, what joy, in a few hours I’m going to see Camille again!” Camille et Lucile Desmoulins: un couple dans la tourmente (1986) by Jean Paul Bertaud, page 293.
What did it matter to Lucile whether she was accused or defended? She had no longer any pretext for living in this world. She was one of those heroines of conjugal love who are more wife than mother. Besides, Horace lived, and Camille was dead. It was of the absent only that she thought. As for the child, would not Madame Duplessis act a mother's part to him? The grandmother would watch over the orphan. If Lucile had lived, she could have done nothing but weep over the cradle, thinking of Camille. Camille Desmoulins and his wife; passages from the history of the Dantonists founded upon new and hitherto unpublished documents (1876) by Jules Claretie.
Having been widowed at the age of 23 [sic] years, Élisabeth Duplay remarried a few years later to the adjutant general Le Bas, brother of her first husband, and kept the name which was her glory. She lived with dignity, and all those who have known her, still beautiful under her crown of white hair, have testified to the greatness of her sentiments and austerity of her character. She died at an old age, always loyal to the memory of the great dead she had loved and whose memory she, all the way to her final day, didn’t cease to honor and cherish. As for the lady of Thermidor, Thérézia Cabarrus, ex-marquise of Fontenay, citoyenne Tallien, then princess of Chimay, one knows the story of her three marriages, without counting the interludes. She had, as one knows, three husbands living at the same time. Now compare these two existances, these two women, and tell me which one merits more the respect and the sympathy of good men. Histoire de Robespierre et du coup d’état du 9 thermidor (1865) by Louis Ernest Hamel, volume 3, page 402.
Fel free to comment which one was your favorite! 😀
#frev#french revolution#frev compilation#hampson: if women were uncomfortable around danton it’s because they were sexually frustrated!#fleishmann: two men in their 30s can ultimately decide what’s best for their sister who’s also in her 30s#also it’s totally unreasonable for charlotte to disown her brothers after their death when her life was possibly in danger#(and even though they pretty much disowned her while they were still alive)#lamartine claretie bertaud: françoise and lucile wanted to die since there was no longer any point to their lives after the husbands died#hamel: a good way of finding out which side was bad and which side was good is to look over how slutty the women on each side were#wow are you seriously surprised the view of women held by 19th century authors isn’t exactly top modern?#…no comment#claretie should technically get a pass since he thought the journal of sanson was an authentic source#But it was so spectacular i couldn’t contain myself#also a shame i couldn’t remember where i read the interpretation that the reason simond évrard was wary of charlotte corday#was bc she might seduce marat when alone with him

FUCK Liam Payne! I will no longer support OT5 and I don’t even want a 1D reunion anymore. It’s so disgusting how so many of you defend these boys actions, but especially Liam, in light of everything that has come out. Maya Henry has every right to speak about her experiences. And it’s gross that I’m seeing literal threads and tweets upon tweets of people calling her a liar and saying all these horrible things. You’re proving Liam right! “No one will believe you anyways and the fans will always defend us!”
Is that not absolutely horrifying to yall? That this man is weaponizing his fanbase against women that he has treated poorly? And yall continue to enable him! Everything Maya said in her recent TikTok was true! Yall defend this abuser because of boy band nostalgia? What the fuck is wrong with some of yall? It makes me sick. It’s always “believe women” “believe victims” until it’s your fave, right?!
We don’t know these people! “He would never do that…” YOU DONT KNOW HIM! These parasocial relationships are going too far.
What’s scary is based on some of the stuff Maya said, I wonder if this is only the tip of the iceberg with Liam. He’s probably done so much shit we don’t even know about. Maybe even the other boys???
I know I’m ranting and no one probably cares but some of the tweets I saw defending Liam were so triggering and upsetting. Trending hashtags like #FreeLiam and #WeLoveYouLiam when a woman CONFIRMED that he abused her is just so sickening. This is why women don’t come forward. This is especially why victims of celebrities and people in power don’t come forward. Because this is how they’re treated. Maya literally even confirmed that Liam and his team have tried to silence her and didn’t want the book to come out. I just… there are no more words.
This whole situation is so triggering… I’m so angry and upset.
Fuck Liam Payne and Fuck all of yall defending him.
#Liam Payne#maya henry#one direction#tw abuse#if she is lying why isn’t he suing for defamation#because she’s not lying#Liam is an abuser and yall need to accept that#I will never support him again#and I’m side eyeing all of the boys who will continue to associate with him after this#there’s no way they or their teams aren’t seeing the accusations#and I’ve been feeling weird about Zayn too ever since the alleged incident with Gigi’s mom#and some women have implied some stuff about him too so I just#and apparently Niall is a cheater which we been knew#Louis and Harry have their own share of drama#the older I get the more the parasocialness is wearing off thank goodness#we don’t know these people#I wouldn’t be surprised if 5/5 are actually horrible people at this point#don’t even get me started on none of them speaking on Palestine#I could go on and on#this situation with Liam is just so messed up and fucking with me#like we knew since Maya’s book came out but still#to hear some of it from her own mouth is different kinda#the stories she could probably tell#I feel so bad for her and hope she is in a place of healing and this doesn’t set her back#end rant

I think the funniest thing about scogan to me is that if you try to imagine it in practice it actually ends up much more compellingly fulfilling some of the tropes that the comics have seemingly always been trying to push with Jean/Logan. Which is just. Hilarious. Like the supposed (very old, tired, romance novel ass) dynamic they’ve often tried to push w Jean/Logan (esp in the new xmen era) is that of Logan representing some sort of… wildness or freedom to Jean’s restraint. That her “giving in” (yuck) to him is also her embracing… idk? Some sort of more natural, unrestrained version of herself and her power.
But it falls really flat with Jean not just bc of the misogyny inherent in the trope but also bc. She’s literally already done that. Like several times in fact. It’s sort of her whole thing. She doesn’t need to fuck Logan to step into her unrestrained power. She already, as a character, is supposed to be a vibrant, impossible, wild manifestation of pure creative/destructive will. (And really it’s kind of everyone else— and the writers’ latent misogyny— that keep fucking that up for her).
Scott on the other hand. Well. He kind of is the high powered female romantic lead obsessed with her job who gets sent on a work trip to a rural town where she’s forced to loosen up a little. Like for better or worse that’s kind of exactly him. He would fit alarmingly well in that sort of push and pull storyline. Which is so… good to me. That Scott, of all people, makes more sense on the cover of a Johanna Lindsey novel than Jean does. That him having that kind of dynamic with Logan actually feels way more interesting bc Scott is restrained to a fault, he is an insufferable, neurotic little headcase who would rather die than tell a waiter they got his order wrong. And yet he’s also the guy who’s admitted to actively enjoying riling Logan up bc part of him just wants to see what will happen. Which I’m pretty sure is called chemistry
#something to be said for scott’s relationships w jean and emma and how they affect his feelings about power/agency as well!#I feel like w jean his instinct is just to bask in her sunlight to the point of living in shadow. which she doesn’t WANT but its. scott.#and as the boundaries blur between them her power is also sort of his but also it still isn’t just enough that he doesn’t have to feel#scared of Having it#and meanwhile emma is like ok sweetie what if I just Made You embrace your own agency. that’s how it works right. and scotts like yeah ur#so right it definitely does. this is such a healthy relationship.#and then w logan its like. this guy is literally just gonna keep bothering him until scott has no choice but to act about it.#god. he sucks so bad ❤️#both of them. jean shouldn’t have to deal w any of them we should send her on vacation w ororo#wait no remembered ororo has also had an insane gay rivalry. damn nobody’s safe huh 💔#jean grey#scott summers#logan howlett#scogan#comics

Zephrah actively postpones ruidusborn births. It is believed that the actual number of ruidusborn in exandrian history is much larger than has been officially recorded because the stigma of it was so intense that people lied about it. Alyxian, one of the few recorded ruidusborn heroes of the calamity who received direct blessings from three different prime deities (our very own Changebringer, the Archheart, and the Moonweaver) , has been all but forgotten (read: likely erased) by history.
The Archive of knowledge that revealed the truth of Predathos and Ruidus was never some forgotten thing—it was intentionally hidden by the elites in Vasselheim. And we have no idea how long they have been operating with that knowledge. We have no idea what they have been doing with that knowledge, what silent wars have been waging for years or decades or centuries. But we saw what they were willing to do, in Hearthdell. We saw the violence and suppression they were willing to commit. We saw the pettiness of the exandrian pantheon in the Dawnfather’s response to Deanna’s: “Are you worth saving?”. In the Changebringer’s manipulative change of course in her pleas to FCG. In the Wildmother’s rejection of Opal. In the knowledge we have that Imogen spent so much of her miserable time in Gelvaan begging the gods to aid her to no avail—just for Kord to reach out only to demand that she not let them down.
Liliana’s point that Vasselheim and the other faithful elite of the world will hunt ruidusborn down to negate even the potential of this happening again isn’t new, it isn’t something this solstice and the machinations surrounding it caused, and it isn’t some unsubstantiated, fearful claim—it has been happening.
The vanguard—and Liliana—are unequivocally wrong in their means. But can you really fault them in their desire? Can you really fault the conclusions they have drawn from the experiences they have lived? If you spend your entire life being rejected by the people and the pantheon of your world for means you could not possibly control, would you not seek out someone and somewhere that would accept you? And if you found it, if some being that has been connected with you your whole life welcomed you home and wrapped you in an embrace that felt like your mother’s and says that it is starving; well, aren’t you, too?
There is likely a holy war brewing. At the end of it all, is it truly the sole fault of the people and not the organizations and society that expelled them?
#critical role#liliana temult#cr spoilers#bells hells#critical role meta#i understand that tumblr isn’t the place for god or vanguard nuance but I wanted to extend my thoughts here For Posterity#it just baffles me that some people still think Ludinus doesn’t very clearly have motivations of his own#and that the vanguard and liliana and very likely even the weave mind are all pawns in a greater scheme#which just kind of renders all the attempts to claim that empathizing with the vanguard means agreeing with Ludinus completely moot#and also just. doesn’t allow room for far more interesting questions about exandrian society and faith#and to be more clear. CLEARLY there are bad people in the vangaurd i am not saying they are good please be normal#in general i think people get really caught up in certain characters’ perspectives and not the wider ones we as the audience have#which. to me. is a loss. these are interesting and extremely relevant and poignant questions to ask

Imagine putting your heart and soul into a project because you love the source material, but have to work around certain scenarios because they won’t really translate well to screen, which is fine because you’ve gotten help/blessings from the ORIGINATOR of said source material so you’re feeling really good about everything. Maybe you wish you could change somethings, but you’re proud of the story that you’ve told and how true it is to the HEART OF THE STORY…
Only to then read that some of the fans of said source material think the show is awful and (somehow??) worse than the bad movie adaptations that disregarded the heart of the material (the actually STORY), all because of a casino and either adding or dropping minor story beats.
Wow. Just wow.
#yes this is about the Percy Jackson show#and I know people have valid critiques of the show#BUT SOME OF YALL have criticisms that show that you just wanted and 1:1#which was never going to happen#the show is good if y’all would get off yall high horses and enjoy the ride#I’ve seen bad shows#this isn’t one of them#some of the scenes y’all call important just aren’t in the grand scheme of the story#the show not having those scenes doesn’t necessarily effected the overall theme and structure of the original work#not to mention#the scenes are still there#just reworked or shifted#y’all just want to complain#imagine thinking an author like RICK RIORDAN#would take this opportunity and squander it by making a bad adaptation of HIS OWN STORY#wild#pjo tv show#pjo series#percy jackon and the olympians#percy jackson

Getting REAL sick and tired of how omori TikTok views sunny.
Like, they view any scene of him being emotionally vulnerable, affectionate, or even just making an expression outside of just being completely neutral as “mischaracterised”. He’s not some cool, stoic, unwavering badass, he is a traumatised teenager. Don’t cry whenever he dares to give his friend a hug or (god forbid) be SAD about something??? Isn’t like. Part of the point of his development about him allowing himself to break down the repressive walls he built when he shut himself in? And being able to rely on his real friends instead of imaginary versions? And isn’t the game like. Meant to SHOW that he still cares about them despite isolating himself?
It’s really stupid to get mad at a character like that showing emotion or affection personally, especially since he’s not used to expressing it properly after so long. But that’s just me
#this isn’t even solely about the manga though it inspired me to make this post#any piece of official art in which sunny dares to show an emotion is shunned as ooc and I’m sick of it#he only appears ‘neutral’ throughout the GAME’s narrative because he HAS NO FACE SPRITES#because he’s the protagonist and has no actual dialogue#therefore he only makes a few expressions the entire game#obviously manga sunny is a good bit more expressive than canon sunny but#it’s REALLY not as bad as TikTok is making it out to be#I’m so TIRED of this character being viewed as nothing but a rock that ONLY has personality before and the game’s events#not allows to emote at all because ‘he didn’t do that in the game!!’#because he is restricted to ONE face sprite the entire time outside of the battles#omori is a DIFFERENT case and I can admit that manga omori is a good bit more expressive than he should be but#he’s still VERY stoic especially compared to sunny#which is what is should be#sunny should be quite closed off but in contrast to omori so much more human#that’s like. a massive part of their dynamic I feel#anyway this is such a long rant but god im so angry#I’ve seen one too many people cry ‘mischaracterised’ at a teenager expressing feelings#PLEASE stop it#also this is not to say you can’t critique manga sunny’s portrayal#because there are a few issues I believe#which are honestly really hard to dance around considering the factors I mentioned before#about having one expression most of the game and two lines of dialogue the entire time#and honestly? I think they did a pretty okay job!#he’s still a silent protagonist but seeing him emote so often helps us see into his mind and know how he’s thinking much easier#both portrayals have their pros and cons and ultimately I prefer the game’s portrayal#but that’s not to say this version of sunny is terrible and ooc like people have been saying#and that’s definitely not to say that any moment of emotional vulnerability he has is terrible and inaccurate#because that’s. just terrible and untrue#omori#omori sunny

I’m sorry but TROP season 2 as a whole was stale fast food fare compared to S1’s organic homemade feast and I’ll die on this hill lol
#sorry to the ‘you’re a fake fan!!1’ crowd of bootlickers on twitter but i won’t pretend S2 was anything but underwhelming#having watched both seasons back to back for the first time this past month i can say with confidence that I enjoyed S1 immensely#whereas S2 felt like disney’s star wars (derogatory)#and that’s not even going into how they did a 180 turn on haladriel lol#again —nobody expected a HEA or even a kiss. but it’s like they completely discarded their S1 arc and steam rolled their dynamic#where was the obsession? the forbidden desire? the inner conflict? all gone in favor of a superhero movie tier dynamic#even SW managed to do better by reylo —which isn’t even half as deep as haladriel#i’ll still tune in for whatever crumbs there will be in the future ofc#but this feels like a whole missed opportunity.#sometimes… listening to ‘fans’ is bad. maybe creators should stop doing that#trop spoilers#lotr

Trying to argue that Padmé’s unwavering faith in Anakin is just the story’s way to default on her character because she didn’t hate Anakin for the Tusken Raider massacre, otherwise the story doesn’t care for her “agency” in that way is actually a stupid take I’d block anyone over.
#lotus flower#ramblings#mini vent#padmé believing in anakin’s goodness is vindicated by the narrative#it’s set up there for a reason#luke is proof that she was right#we’re almost done with 2024 and people are still insisting padmé isn’t important to star wars plus anakin/vader’s story arc#her sympathizing with anakin for killing a group of people who murdered and tortured his mom isn’t as bad as y’all think#you can’t go comparing that to anakin’s mental decline in rots where he’s become corrupted by power and as he’s killing innocents#padmé can understand taking severe actions in the name of love#which is what anakin did for his mother and for her in rots#that’s why she’s able to look past it#but the moment it became about *power* that’s when she lost heart#it’s essential to understand padmé’s character as well before you spout crap like this lol

#kinda wish I was doing more with my life but I forget sometimes that I was a NEET for like 3 years so it’s ok to be a little behind#like I have 2 jobs and am living more comfortably than I ever have even if it’s still pretty modest and my living situation isn’t great#and I have a really happy and successful relationship going on also. which I never expected when I was younger#so perhaps things aren’t as bad as they could be. I have a lot to be grateful for#and im definitely not the most ‘behind in life progression’ 24 year old in the world even if im a fast food worker

I made too many posts tagged Jason Todd lately, Tumblr have started putting his stans' posts on my dash again with their stupid takes. "Actually, Jason is very right to be mad at Bruce for how he reacted to his death" (wtf, seriously. Like, being mad someone didn't kill for you is actually not okay. Also, the man was mourning his son, who the fuck are to judge) "Actually, Bruce had a part of blame in Jason's death" (ok, ngl, if you think Bruce has any blame, than Jason also has some because he is the one that ran away to Africa), "Bruce didn't see Jason as a son and didn't value him" (BRUCE CRIED FOR A HOUR WHEN CPS TOOK JASON FROM HIM. HE DIDN'T GET OUT AS BATMAN BECAUSE IT WAS MORE IMPORTANT TO HIM TO FIGHT TO ADOPT JASON)
#my ramblings#not tagging characters because I'm trying to save myself#my god Jason stans make me lose my sanity like no Jason is hurt he has the right to be#but his actions are still not excusable#blaming Bruce for everything doesn’t change that this boy is a murderer just to get his father's attention#also y'all do not know shit about Bruce’s character and accept bad writing as true because y'all LOVE putting your boy on a pedestal#I'm still waiting for an example of Bruce “insulting” Jason when he was dead that isn't him calling him “reckless”#which he was and isn’t an insult let's call a cat a cat pls#no I don't blame Jason for his death I'm just saying if you want to do mental gymnastics I can

I know how it sounds at first, but I really gotta feel bad for the boys that sacrificed edwin; I mean even the term “sacrificed edwin” paints them in a more sinister light than they really deserve– considering that wasn’t really, actually their intention.
they were bullies, they were homophobic (and/or were self loathing gay boys themselves taking it out on edwin, or were equally likely peer pressured into acting a certain way), they planned something stupid and mean to do to an innocent, anxious boy with the goal of scaring the shit out of him, all because he was effeminate and an easy target. but they didn’t know or expect any of the ritual stuff to be real. they were all laughing and joking during the ritual because it was just that to them– a joke. a cruel joke, but a joke.
teenagers can be mean and stupid and they usually regret it as adults and grow out of it / grow from it. they were stifled the chance to grow out of it, at least while alive. none of those boys deserved to be instakilled and sent to hell; they’re really not that much less deserving than edwin himself. they were all just kids, after all.
#random thought but. yeah……#I mean think about if crystal happened to be killed somehow pre-demonic intervention#she would’ve been deemed deserving of hell by the standards we’ve seen. no doubt about it. if the dragon guys were pulled to hell then yeah.#she would be as well. simply put- she was a bully#she was also a teenager. not a fully developed person. a very damaged and neglected teenager at that#it’s kinda like the criminal justice system right. it’s like. hey you really think sending them to be tormented is the most humane and#efficient way to heal these kids of what makes them act out and allow them to grow and improve?#Crystal’s such a good case to look at because she’s. well. to compare to The Good Place which you can probably already tell I’ve watched 800#times and adore with all my heart. she’s kinda the michael of the group#no one knows it at first but she’s actually kind of a terror to people most of the time. but she’s put in a situation where she#suddenly has a support system- people who care about her and want the best for her- she’s given a purpose and realizes how much better it is#to use her powers to help rather than hurt (well. sometimes helping can involve hurting but you get it)#and by the time she’s regained her memories and has a place in the agency it’s much easier to reflect on her life and be like huh!#this system kinda fucking sucks!#not that edwin wasn’t an example unto himself but he was a ‘clerical error’ not a ‘rightfully’ condemned person#with his situation someone could argue that the problem isn’t with the system being wack as a whole- it should just be maintained better so#these ‘errors’ don’t happen and all the good kids go to their afterlives and the Bad Evil Kids go to hell.#yes yes I know they’re not in hell forever (hopefully) but uhh Simon was still there for over a century and for fucking What?#gay self-loathing and catholic guilt? his intentions were clearly not Truly Evil and more than anything he seems to have been punished using#how much he hated himself for being gay and how guilty he felt for it all. like shit aren’t those feelings enough of a punishment? if he had#lived through that ritual and edwin hadn’t– do you think he would’ve been Okay? I think it would’ve crushed him. chronically#man. anyway#this was an especially long ramble huh#rambling#edwin#edwin payne#dead boy detectives

hey why did bill’s ex-wife move to clivesdale? literally no one from hatchetfield would do that. people die and go missing all the time and they refuse to leave. and if they do they don’t move to fucking clivesdale
#idk if more info abt bill’s ex wife is in nightmare time as I’ve only seen the first episode#but in the fiction I just made up bill’s ex wife isn’t from hatchetfield but she met bill in college#and they got married right after college and she moved to hatchetfield bc bull loved his hometown so much and she slowly (or not so slowly)#realizes something is Weird and Wrong about hatchetfield and every time she brings it up with bill#he’s like ‘yeah :) that’s hatchetfield for you’#and his unwillingness to take her (very real) concerns about hatchetfield is part of the reason they get a divorce#another driving factor is she started looking for jobs outside of hatchetfield and was offered a very good position in clivesdale#and she took it (without consulting bill) bc it’s perfect they can move out of hatchetfield but still be close enough to visit#and sure there’s a bit of a rivalry between the two towns but that kind of stuff gets left behind after high school#only bill is very much Not Okay with that and maybe at first she tries commuting but traffic is bad especially across the bridge#and if bill would be sensible—#so they get a divorce and she gets majority custody of Alice which she’s grateful for bc she’s safer in clivesdale#and the of course alice keeps fucking dying in hatchetfield so#starkid#hatchetfield#hatchetverse
