The Favorite Uncle

I know I'm supposed to work on both the Bitty fic and the next Time Travelers chapter but shhhhht I wanted to write some Dream x Killer first because I just noticed I never wrote about it so I had to fix that

This a sort of part two to A Second Chance ! Featuring Driller ( Dream x Killer ship ), I say sort of because it's more of a short story taking place after the events than a real follow up, but anyway !

Short summary: Dream and Killer are competing with each other to be Moroz's favorite uncle, it ends up in a very close tie

Killer was on the couch, watching the little kid play with some wooden construction blocks on the coffee table in front of him. Moroz, Nightmare and Error's kid, he had turned five years old a few months ago, who would have thought the two most dangerous skeletons in the multiverse would have such an angel of a son together ? Killer really liked this kid, they all did, and he very much wanted his little nephew - because they all considered themselves his uncles - to like him too. He wanted to be somewhat special to him, he didn't know if it was because it was the first time in years that a child wasn't afraid of him, or because it was his boss's - his friend's - kid, or even because it was something new again, something new but not destructive, something new that wouldn't keep him up at night with his soul aching with guilt, the only thing he was sure of was that he loved this kid so much.

But there was an obstacle: Dream. Him and Nightmare had made peace when he was still pregnant, and Dream really did his best to improve himself and gain his brother's trust again, Killer had to admit he came from far but did great progress. But, he was Moroz's biological uncle, often came to visit them, and never arrived without a gift for either the child or his brother. Killer knew it was stupid of him to feel irritated by that, after all Nightmare was more than happy to have reconnected with his twin and Moroz was happy to see his uncle, but Killer had that hovering, displeasing, thought that Moroz might prefer his biological uncle over him. He kept repeating that he didn't have a favorite, he loved all of his five uncles the same, but Killer couldn't help but feel behind Dream. He knew who Dream was after all, he knew he could get anyone to love him if he wanted to, so what guaranteed him he wouldn't soon be the favorite uncle ? Killer couldn't stand that thought, even more when Dream gained the right to babysit three years ago and his anxiety doubled.

And so a rivalry began between them, a harmless one, that consisted mainly on spoiling their nephew more than the other would. It was a little war that they had been taking very seriously. No one got in the way, seeing how the two weren't hurting anyone, how Moroz was simply happy to spend time with them, and how they both seemed to slowly start to consider it as a game more than a fight, because upping each other was fun, but Killer soon started to make some well placed teases, to which Dream never hesitated to answer with more teasy remarks. Ironically, they started to know each other better with their rivalry, to lower their guard when around the other, they couldn't say they trusted each other, but there wasn't any animosity in their interactions anymore, they weren't scared to mess a little with the other from time to time.

Dream wasn't as insufferable as Killer first thought, but still, hearing his name so often in Moroz's mouth was rather annoying. Was he that special that the kid loved staying at his place so much ? What was Dream doing that he wasn't ? He didn't like the thought of missing something, not when it had to do with his nephew. He got up from the couch.

- Hey 'Roz, I'm gonna go pay a little visit to someone, you stay here and be good, kay ?

Moroz looked up at him, a red cube in his hand, and nodded before turning his attention back to his construction, putting the cube on top of a yellow one. If there was any problem, his other uncles weren't far and his parents were on the floor just above. Killer smiled at him before teleporting away.

He appeared in a small house, decorated in a way that made it look warm and welcoming, much different than the castle, even if the warmth improved with the arrival of the baby. Killer heard noise from the kitchen and went straight to it, knowing where it was as it wasn't the first time he came here. He sat at the table.

Dream was cleaning the counter of his kitchen, his dishes were drying on the side of the sink. He turned around to grab a dishcloth and almost dropped it when he jumped, surprised by the newcomer sitting at his table, staring at him with a sharp smile and empty sockets. Killer. Since when was he watching him ?

- Will you ever learn to knock before entering ?

Dream complained, turning to his counter to resume drying it. It wasn't the first time Killer intruded in his house, he often payed him visits, at first to warn him not to try anything against Nightmare or the baby, then to "make sure he wasn't plotting", and finally to annoy him as a past time activity.

- Why would I ? Scaring you is way funnier.

Killer replied, satisfied to have succeeded once again in surprising him.

- Why are you here ? Dream asked, ignoring the mockery.

- Can't I just pay you a visit because I missed you ? Killer joked again.

- As if you would ever miss me. Dream huffed.

Killer didn't reply right away, looking at the guardian taking the dishes one by one to dry them off with the cloth and pile them on the now clean counter.

- You're not special. He finally said.

- I'm sorry ? Dream turned, confused.

Killer didn't move, his head resting on his fist with his elbow on the table, he was still smiling, but Dream could tell he was irritated.

- I said you're not special.

- I heard you. Dream cut him. But I never said I was special.

Killer straightened his back.

- The kid seems to really like you. He keeps talking about the stuff you two do and how cool you are.

Dream arched a brow.

- And ? You've got a problem with him liking his uncle ? He asked as he resumed drying the dishes. Or maybe you're here for advice ?

Killer's smile twitched.

- I don't need your advice, Star Boy.

- Well you sound like you do, why would you be here then ?

Killer stood up, slamming a hand on the table.

- I do not need advice !

Dream put his cloth on the side, grabbing the plates to put them back in the cabinet.

- Really ? Then why are you here ? Are you scared he might like me more than you ?

Dream smiled, knowing what string to pull to get a reaction out of the murderer. It always worked.

- You think I'm scared ? I'm not scared, if anything you should be the one who's scared. Killer replied through gritted teeth.

Dream turned to look at him, a faint smile on his face. Killer hated that stupid smile, like he knew something but didn't want to say it. Dream had changed a lot since the truce with his brother, his behavior changed, and some new facets of his personality were showing. Being mischievous was one of them, and Killer couldn't decide if he hated or liked it, given that he always fell into his traps.

- Scared of what ?

- Scared of me.

Dream chuckled.

- I'm not scared of you. But I scare you.

Killer took a few steps closer as Dream put his back against his counter, crossing his arms as he looked at the taller skeleton, smiling.

- You do not scare me. You think you can intimidate me ? Please, I've fought you countless times, I know your weaknesses, you're no match for me.

Dream's smile only widened as Killer approached.

- Why are you smiling ? You think I would hold back just because you made peace with your brother ?

- I know you wouldn't. But I also know that you're not dumb, you know it wasn't what I meant.

Killer stopped in front of him. Dream didn't stop smiling, and the intensity in his gaze told Killer that he really wasn't afraid. He knew he wouldn't start a fight, they hadn't fought in years, Dream knew they were past that, he didn't have to worry. If really Killer was pissed, he would leave, he knew better than fighting his boss's brother when they established a truce.

- I am not scared of you. In any way.

Dream tilted his head.

- You think so ?

Killer frowned. He didn't like this conversation, where Dream was slowly guiding him. He came here to tell him he wasn't special, that he should give up trying to be the best, he didn't intend on losing control like that. He got closer again.

- Why would you think I'm scared of you ? You think just because you're my boss's brother you're above me ? Think you could hurt me ?

- I don't. He tilted his head the other way. You're not necessarily scared of me, but I make you afraid, that you can't deny.

Killer slammed his fists on the counter, on each side of Dream. He didn't flinch.

- I'm not afraid !

- Then why are you so defensive ? He asked with the same calm tone he used since the start.

- I...

Killer didn't know what to say, staying right in front of him, so close to him, as Dream was looking so sure of himself, so confident, while Killer was only losing his composure. What was Dream doing to him ? It wasn't because of his aura, it couldn't be, it didn't work on him, his soul was too damaged to be affected by Dream's aura, and yet he felt so... vulnerable. He never felt vulnerable in front of Dream before, if anything, it would normally have been the contrary.

- I am stronger than you...

- I know. Dream bent forward, a little closer.

Killer looked at him, his fists shaking on the counter.

- I.. am not scared of you...

- Then what are you afraid of ? He whispered.

What was he afraid of ? He wasn't afraid of anything, he certainly wasn't afraid of Dream, but his fists were shaking and he could feel his breath fasten. Why was he so nervous ? He shouldn't be nervous. He was the one who came here, he was the one who had something to say. He just had to tell Dream he would never take his place and leave, why was he still here ? He just had to warn him, to remind him he wasn't special, that he wouldn't be the favorite uncle, that he wouldn't erase him. Did Dream want to erase him ? If he did, would Moroz let him ? Would Moroz prefer Dream over him ?

- I don't... want to be behind... he shakily admitted.

- Is that what you're afraid of ? Being left behind ?

Dream looked at him, his soft gaze planted in Killer's empty sockets, his face so close to his. There wasn't mockery in his tone, he wasn't playing with him, he wasn't tricking him. Killer stared back, shaking slightly, why was he so weak ? Whow did Dream make him look so easy to read ? He was supposed to be a constant enigma, even his friends couldn't quite tell what was happening in his head sometimes, and yet Dream seemed to put his finger on every little secret he had. How did he do that ? How did he manage to pierce through his layers with such ease ?

- I... have been a tool for so long... I want to be special.. for someone... really special...

All he wanted was to be someone's special person, sure he had his friends in the castle, but Error had Nightmare, Nightmare had Error, Dust and Horror were practically if not already dating, Cross had his best friend Epic... the only one Killer could have been special to was Moroz, and he tried so hard to be, to make him happy, be present... and Dream was so nice, so sweet, so bright, how could he ever hate him ? How could Moroz not prefer him ? He was everything Killer wasn't, and he couldn't help but fear he would take his place...

- That's what I wanted to hear...

Dream murmured, and with that he put a hand on Killer's shoulder, and closed the small distance between their lips...

It was soft, soft and warm, unexpected, but not unpleasant. Killer didn't move at first, not fully believing what he was living, but when Dream drew back he put a hand on his hip, bringing him closer once again to take a new taste of his lips.

When they looked at each other, Dream smiled.

- I'm not looking to take your place, it has never been my intention, you don't have to be afraid about that.. he gently caressed his cheek, looking at the faint gray eyelight in Killer's right socket, you are one very unique person, I don't think I have ever met someone even remotely like you before.. you're very special.. so very interesting.. I would love to know more about you..

Oh how Killer liked hearing those words, feeling this delicate touch, feeling Dream's body pressed against his... without thinking, he wrapped his second arm around the guardian's waist, and kissed him again, bending over on the counter, Dream bending with him as he passed his arms around his neck. He only drew back to catch his breath, staying close.

- Maybe you're not that bad either...

Dream chuckled, biting his lip as he felt Killer's hand start to caress his side, and with one look, they both knew how they would spend the rest of their day...

Their little war seemed to cease after that day, and even though nobody was supposed to know why, they all noticed that Killer seemed less anxious, calmer, and Dream and him were bad at hiding their hickeys, and what a coincidence that they always appeared after Killer's little visits to a "friend's house"...

They found it amusing, they were all expecting it, and Killer seemed happy. Why wouldn't he be ? Dream made him feel special, he had seen him in ways that nobody else ever saw him, he knew how to read him but never used it to harm him, truly, Killer felt more peaceful with him, more vulnerable, but it was a type of vulnerability that he could get used to...

And Moroz was very happy to get to do activities with his two uncles at the same time.

The Historical OCs Have Designs!

I've been saying I'd get this done for a while.

I have three ASMR audio series where I initially had no plans for the characters I portray in them to be actual proper original characters. No name, no design, no attachment. And the first one I did, the 'visiting king', was initially meant to be just a one-off audio. I had no idea these series would get so popular, and the first 'visiting king' audio is still my most viewed video on Youtube currently sitting at over 100k views. And soon what was a one-off audio became a whole series, and then I made others similar to it.

These three audio series ('Visiting King, 'Villain x Hero' and 'Guilty Priest') never had character designs or names. But as people started liking them and as I kept getting more requests for them I wanted to try and design them and turn them into proper OCs. But I was scared. People loved the audios that just had photographs of my outfits in them, what if my designs were a disappointment? What if they didn't live up to people's imagined versions of them?

Back in April-May 2024 I designed the Guilty Priest and named him Father Hawthorn. I added him to the OC stickers and keychains I have for sale on my Etsy shop.

And then I just never got around to designing the other two. And it felt more nerve-wracking to try and design them, especially the Visiting King as he's my most popular series of audios in terms of Youtube views (yes even more than Love Bites).

But yesterday I thought okay, enough, I have to design them. People have been asking for over a year and I keep saying I will, I have to try.

I had a much clearer vision for the Visiting King, so I challenged myself to design the Villain first. I really struggled. I erased so many sketches. And I only kept a few of the scraped designs on the final concept art sheet. Finally I got so frustrated I stopped drawing him in the basic standing pose I use for all my ref sheets and thought I'd try and draw a more fun pose and maybe that would help. And somehow it did. And then drawing the King was much easier.

I shared the work-in-progresses of drawing these guys with my 18+ Patreon-only Discord members to get feedback as I went along and they were so sweet. Me and my Discord members also discussed other ideas I had about the characters, including the fact that I... have started shipping them very badly. To the point I think it's canon now (not canon in their 'x listener' audios but in their regular stories). And thank you to my Discord members for letting me write just so many drabbles about them last night and how I think they would meet and get together.

And thank you to my Discord members for joining in on writing about them and in someone's case, instantly drawing fanart of their designs. They all already had pages on my fanart museum, but now the King and Villains pages are updated and there is a page for fanart of both of them together.

So below are their reference sheets. In order of when I first came up with the characters (which ironically is the opposite order of when I designed them). Lucien (the King) and Lysander's (the Villain) sheets are entirely new, whereas Hawthorn had one before but I've finally drawn a full body of him that isn't a chibi so the sheet has been updated. These are also on my fanworks guide now.

Thank you guys so much for the support on all my audios, and especially my original character ones. It always means so much when people listen to them, even if you came only for a fandom character and then gave my original boys a shot. It's always been a dream of mine to have original characters that other's like and care about and I can share with other people, and I'm so happy to have found that space with you guys.

The next time each of these characters have new audios I hope to have thumbnail art drawn that will replace the photographs of myself. I hope that change doesn't upset or disappoint anyone.

here's a headcanon for most Skizz ships to prove my theory that he is the most shippable man to ever exist

Bdubs/Skizz - Skizz pampers the HELL out of Bdubs. giving him random gifts, constant PDA, always letting him steal his clothes. (you know how when cats lick and clean rabbits, both the rabbit and the cat think they're the dominant one in the exchange? yeah. that's them.)

BigB/Skizz - they have the strangest uncle vibes you've ever seen. they'd show up to the gathering with homemade desserts, forget everyone's names twice, refer to each other as "roommate" while wearing wedding rings, and leave with the bowl of Doritos. cryptid couple.

Etho/Skizz - as they lay together, they'll both trace each other's scars oh-so-gently with their fingers. sometimes they'll trail kisses down them. Etho isn't much of a touch person, so Skizz treasures these rare moments when they're so intimate.

Scar/Skizz - they have watched the entirety of the Star Wars franchise about three times by now. Skizz still isn't really sure what it's about because Scar likes to ramble over the dialogue with trivia about each individual scene, but he prefers it that way anyway.

Grian/Skizz - it's pretty common to see them both up in the air, having a flying competition. Grian is objectively much better: he can swoop and curve and dive with such elegance, while Skizz can barely change direction without a bit of stumbling. they're both too competitive to give in though, and it's just so much fun! so far, the score is 82 - 0. (and hey, if all that flying exhausts them both so that they get home and cuddle until they sleep, then bonus!)

Impulse/Skizz - Skizz always seems to know when something is bothering Impulse, to the point where he'll fly across the server to see him because he "just had a bad feeling". it's always correct, and Skizz always makes sure to comfort Impulse.

Martyn/Skizz - they make each other laugh SO hard. it's rare to see them not smiling around each other because of how much chemistry and banter they have. absolute chaos bringers.

Mumbo/Skizz - Skizz can very easily pick Mumbo up as if he weighs nothing. if they're together, Mumbo barely gets the chance to walk anywhere because Skizz just loves carrying him bridal-style to various places. sometimes Skizz will even have Mumbo in one arm and another hermit in the other just to show off; Mumbo finds it quite handsome.

Pearl/Skizz - Pearl makes Skizz bouquets of flowers as random gifts, "just cause!". he keeps all of them in a vase in his base, keeping them until they're wilted and dying until she gifts him a new one. occasionally he'll put a flower in his suit pocket when they go out, to match with one in her hair.

Ren/Skizz - they're constantly play-arguing about who's the better lover, who's better at flirting, etc. they will only stop when Skizz pulls Ren in for a kiss so he physically can't argue back.

Scott/Skizz - they're all softness and sweetness. Skizz will talk to Scott in a softer voice than usual, making sure he bundles up warm or has a hearty breakfast; Scott laughs and pushes him away ("I don't need you mothering me!"), but he does find it quite endearing to not be so independent for once. bonus: they're totally like parents to the rest of the group. they've grounded Jimmy twice.

Joel/Skizz - the MOST competitive couple on the server. if they're going somewhere, it's a race; if they're flirting, it's a challenge; they are just non-stop. at first, Skizz tried to reign in Joel's competitiveness a bit, but it's just so much more fun to make everything into a playful competition. they are the reason Uno was banned at the group hangouts.

Jimmy/Skizz - refer to themselves as "jizzle" when together. they enjoy the sheer rage and disappointment that it's always met with.

Tango/Skizz - they are the MOST PDA couple you will EVER see. Tango is constantly calling Skizz handsome, hanging off of him, gently biting him on the arm; likewise, Skizz always has an arm around Tango, squeezing his cheeks as he tries to talk, pressing kisses all over his face and arms. it's sickeningly sweet.

Cleo/Skizz - they're both so chaotic but in such different ways: Cleo is one annoyance away from setting fire to someone while Skizz is one funny idea away from setting fire to himself. sometimes they have to reign each other in, but most of the time Cleo is burning down a building and Skizz is cheering them on from the sidelines. he brings little cheerleader pom-poms.

Zedaph/Skizz - they are banned from the kitchen after trying to make instant noodles in the coffee machine <3

Thinking about “I Want To Unify The Kingdom But The Second Male Lead Is Too Indecent” again. Thoughts on how it’d play out:

The first episode starts with Bridget and Dick at the office, establishing her as competent but ignored and him as a half-joking, self-loathing sex pest. Around the halfway point, they both get hit by a truck while crossing the road and wake up in the fantasy kingdom (does it have a canon name? I’m gonna call Decentia) as Princess Bridgeton and Lord Dickington. Lord Daleton shows up and quickly becomes the only person either of them tell about their original situation.

Bridget and Dick don’t actually realize they’ve both been Isekai’d together until about halfway through season 1, at which point they finally put two and two together. Bridget is mildly horrified that the dignified Lord she’d been relying on for stability was Dickhead Dick this whole time, while Dick is just happy to have SOMEONE who relates to not being either a medieval fop or Daleton.

The big reveal of the season one finale is that most if not all of the kingdom’s characters seen across the season, from the major supporting cast to the extremely minor background staff, have at some point between the pilot and now ALSO been swapped with their Massachusetts counterparts, mostly within the span of the first few episodes. The entire second season is just trying to piece together what the fuck to do about this.

Bridget is throughout Seasons 1 and 2 torn between absolutely despising Daleton and genuine attraction (because annoying though he may be, he seems to mean well and IS genuinely hot), while also coming to see Dick in a new light and genuinely appreciating him as a person for the first time ever. For his part, Dick has been into Bridget since before the truck accident, and while he is generally annoyed by Daleton’s antics and indecency, he shows JUST enough tolerance towards him that a good portion of the fandom ships the pair. Eventually a small but substantial part of the fandom ships the three together in the classic ProZD Love Triangle solution.

(Season 5 ends up technically making that canon, so polyshippers stay winning)

Daleton is consistently a slutty bisexual disaster throughout the show, right up to the very end, but he is shown to have SOME genuine leadership skills and does actually want to help everyone, hence why Bridget keeps him around. He’s the kind of character who spends most of each episode being useless and fan service focused, but then always has one useful insight that manages to help turn the whole episode’s conflict on its head.

Not everyone who got isekai’d into Decentia has an identical appearance to their Massachusetts form or a [Name]ton name, but there are a few as foreshadowing for the Season 1 plot twist.

Season 3 focuses on the real Princess Bridgeton and Lord Dickington, who wake up in the hospital and immediately piece together that they’re each from Decentia. They’re the first characters from the Kingdom to make the transition, and they realize what’s going on with everyone switching over significantly faster than Bridget and Dick.

The first sign that something seriously fucky is going on in Season 3 is when “Dale Kingston” shows up and applies for a job at the end episode 2. Bridgeton and Dickington immediately recognize him as lord Daleton, but he denies this, and we the audience know that Daleton was basically the only major character to NOT know anything about Massachusetts in Season 2, which raises the question of if he’s just this universe’s counterpart or if something more is going on.

As more and more Decentians end up at Big Dick’s in Massachusetts, they begin taking over the company and, slowly but surely, the small town of Decent, Massachusetts (halfway between Boston and Springfield, just take I-90 and turn off at the giant pants sign, you can’t miss it).

In Massachusetts, Dale is mostly similar in behavior to Daleton, but slightly less indecently dressed and completely able to keep his pants up. This is because in Massachusetts, you can just buy pants at a store and don’t need a personal tailor who was originally really gay and inappropriate and then by episode 4 was replaced by an IT worker with a CompSci degree.

Season 3 ends with a portal being formed between Big Dick’s corporate office (where Dickington has just defeated the CEO Richard Parker in hand to hand combat) and the castle of Decentia (where Bridget and Dick have been panicking because Daleton has been missing all day). Then Dale shows up, and all chaos breaks loose.

Season 4 goes about as described in the Drawfee episode: they realize that their realities are collapsing and merging together, it becomes clear that Dale/Daleton has secretly (and unintentionally) been the lynchpin of this collapse the whole time, and eventually the Kingdom (which has semi-officially annexed Decent, Massachusetts) is unified with the goal of killing him. However, Bridget and Dick are both quietly opposed to the plan (Dick because he recognizes Dale could still be a “decent” human being, and Bridget because at this point she’s low key in love with him).

It becomes clear across Season 4 that Daleton really didn’t have any idea originally that he was somehow drawing the two universes together, he went to Massachusetts through a portal to try and figure out what was going on with the Isekais, and his indecency has more or less been out of his control this whole time. The fanbase is somewhat divided on the question of whether or not killing him is the right thing to do.

Season 4 ends with Daleton seemingly killed, the universes mostly going back to how they were before the series started (Princess Bridgeton and Lord Dickington are back in control of the Kingdom, the employees at Big Dick’s are all back in Massachusetts), but Bridget mysteriously missing. The last shot of the season is Bridget’s bedroom back home, with the camera panning around to reveal one more portal.

Season 5 is still pretty much just porn, but like a quarter of every episode is dedicated to either developing the plot, world building for the sex dimension, or genuinely well written character development. So you can’t even skip to the important or good episodes, you have to watch all of them (you can usually skip the sex scenes, if you want, though. They are still 3/4ths of each episode).

About two thirds of the pre-existing fanbase are actually really into the fifth and final season: partially because it is still beautifully animated, incredibly well acted, and (during the important quarter) impeccably written…but also partially because the show was always hornier than your average isekai, so its fanbase did kinda follow suit. A third of them still absolutely hate it and the internet kinda explodes into arguments about it, though.

The creators fully realize there is no going back after Season Five, so that’s the only season of the show to not end on a cliffhanger. Instead, the plot is resolved, the multiverse is saved, and Bridget, Dick, and Daleton retire to a pocket dimension of the sex dimension where they can live out the rest of their days in peace. It’s a surprisingly wholesome and happy ending, ignoring how incredibly nasty some of the smut in the rest of the season was.

“Season Five” becomes internet shorthand for a show completely self-sabotaging and self-destructing for years afterwards, to the point most new anime for the next half a decade is capped off at four seasons.

The fifth season does however reveal that Dick/Dickington is bigger than Daleton, so that’s cool.

the art on the bookmark is amazing as I already have known, it is also more flexible than I thought, and the transparent effect is very nice! when i think about it, I probably prefer paper bookmarks, but it physically pains me whenever they get permanent creases, so plastic is safer that way... (also tassels give me a bit of an anxiety ever since since I used one I got as a gift from Urumqi students as a keychain and it fell apart lol...)

the quality of printing in the comic itself is really good, slightly glossy somehow? I haven't read manga in a while but I remember the paper being more plain/rough

can't even imagine the amount of effort that went into this comic, the kaishin santa origin story and three-month production period is wild. mad respect. I have so much respect for sequential artists in general.

I dont remember 1st edition well enough to spot differences but the art looks amazing… what's the word… crisp! crisp.

when I read the 1st edition, I found it not particularly shippy (I didn't know Soh doesn't ship it as that point, put it made sense in retrospect). Re-reading it, I see the romantic notes more clearly, but the sense of distance between them is also more obvious. that's kind of related to why the ship is loved, isn't it? It's easier for these two to be honest with each other who they barely know, rather than their lifetime friends, as far as canon goes. lol Aoko wasn't able to fix Kaito before and she won't fix him now...

Golden Army: Dragon Heist Part 2

The Golden Army headed through the city of Waterdeep, looking for Floon, who had been missing since last night. Brody knew time was of the essence for finding missing people. The more time that passed, the fewer clues they could find. Volo (and his monetary reward) was counting on them. He fiddled with his lute as the mid afternoon sun beat down on them.

"Alright bros. Let's split up to cover more ground. Me, Ross, and Daniel will check out The Skewered Dragon and see if anyone saw him leave. Scott, Henry, and Grayden, I want you bros to check the surrounding area for any clues. Any questions?"

"Just one, Brody. Did Volo give you a description of Floon to work with?" Grayden asked, "That seems like something important."

"He sure did, Grayden. Floon is a well dressed man of average height with long red hair. He was wearing a quote 'very ugly pearl necklace with a seashell on it' end quote."

"That's not a lot to go off of, bro" Henry added.

"I know, bro. But we want that reward money so we gotta find the guy. Now let's go! Meet back here in an hour."

And so the party split off, ready to find the missing man.

"Are you sure there's going to be clues here?"

"Of course, bro! There's gonna be clues all over- OH WHAT IS THAT!?" Scott ran over to a nearby store window, putting his head against the glass.

"Scott, now is not the time for window shopping innit. We gotta look for Floon." Henry sighed.

"But look at that big plushie! I want it!"

Grayden sighed and looked down as his two teammates got into yet another argument about wants versus needs. That's when he spotted something glistening on the sidewalk: A rather ugly pearl necklace with a pink seashell attached.

"Interesting..."

Grayden looked back up, an idea forming in his head. "Hey Scott, do you want to take a look around inside?"

"Oh don't tell me you're taking his side in this bro."

"Not at all. I just want to speak to the owner for a second."

The Skewered Dragon had definitely seen better days. The front facing windows were completely smashed in and a ship's anchor was lodged in the roof. It was definitely the seedy part of town, that much Brody was sure of.

"Why would a well-off man come drinking someplace like this?" He wondered.

The inside of the tavern didn't look much better. The decor was very much nautical, and the dockworker patrons only added to the setting. Brody and Ross walked up to the bartender while Daniel approached the various patrons to see if anyone else was there last night.

"Hey there bro. We're looking for a man named Floon Blaagmar. Well dressed, long red hair, ugly necklace around his neck. Sound familiar?"

"Can't say me memory's too good right now, especially not for strangers. Maybe some coin would loosen me tongue." The bartender smirked.

Ross pulled out one of his many knives and stuck it in the counter. "Maybe some blood would loosen it too. Wanna find out, mate?"

The bartender visibly gulped. "Fine. Worth a shot anyhow. Guy's a regular here. He drank with two men that night, one after the other. He and the second man left around midnight after some drinks and a round of Three Dragon Ante."

One of the patrons Daniel was talking with interrupted. "Are youse talking about Renaer Neverember? Stuck up noble who loves to rub our faces in it."

"You mean the son of former Open Lord Dagult Neverember? I thought he'd have been in Neverwinter with his father." Daniel howled.

"Well I guess he wanted to stick around," another patron added, "not like it did 'em any good. A group of men followed the two of them out last night. Dunno what happened next but can't have been good. One had a tattoo of a snake on his neck."

A snake tattoo? That could only mean one thing.

"The Zhentarim are involved." Brody whispered.

As the hour passed, the two groups met back up to discuss what they'd found.

"A group of Zhents followed Floon and his drinking partner out of the tavern. They came in this direction." Brody said as the others approached. He noticed Scott holding a plushie in his hands and cried for their finances.

"They were attacked outside of the Old Xoblob Shop. The owner saw five men attack the two, one of whom had a snake tattoo on his neck. We also found Floon's necklace." Grayden added.

"Wow that is ugly." Daniel commented.

"Apparently the Zhents have a warehouse they use on Candle Lane. Might get some clues if we look there." Brody wondered just what they would find at the warehouse of a rival mercenary group. One with much more influence but a much worse reputation.

"So what are we waiting for? Let's go find our guys!" Ross exclaimed, holding his dagger in the air for emphasis.

"Technically we're only looking for Floon."

"I'll bet rescuing a noble will bring us a lot of cash though, bros!" Scott said in excitement, the plushie shaking as he spoke animatedly.

"You got it, bro. To Candle Lane!"

Candle Lane wasn't very far away, and the group arrived at the warehouse in a matter of minutes, a snake imprinted on the door telling the Golden Army they had the right place. Of course, the door was locked.

"I've got this bros. One second." Ross pulled out his trusty tools and got to work, unlocking the door with a few flicks of the wrist.

"Alright bros. We're going to be doing this quietly," Brody whispered, "We sneak in, look for clues, and get out before anyone notices us. Understood?"

"Yes Cap." The others spoke in unison.

"Good. I'll go first." Brody opened the door to the warehouse slowly, trying to be as quiet as possible. Inside he spotted a group of four raven-esque creatures, huddled together in the center of the room. All was quiet until the sound of the floor creaking alerted everyone in the room to their presence.

"Oops." Brody whispered.

"INTRUDERS!"

In your Spitfire AU, since Zuko is looking after Lu Ten II, what happened to Ursa?

Zuko is slightly older in the Spitfire AU. He was banished at fifteen, his head a little clearer and denial a little weaker than in canon. After his first look through the Air Temples, Zuko decides that if he can't find a myth, he might as well search for the next best thing.

Finding Ursa isn't easy, but in time he makes it to a secluded house in a near-forgotten part of the world. His mom is there, older and stronger and alive.

But she isn't alone.

And Zuko, as it turns out, didn't keep the best company during his search.

When Ursa is discovered and her secrets are laid bare for assassins (for Ozai) to find, she begs Zuko to take his little brother and run. She'll do anything it takes to protect her children, even if that means leaving them behind to keep a target off their back. Ursa diverts attention from them and allows Lu Ten's ancestry to be kept a secret. She orders Zuko not to follow her again, and disappears.

Zuko is left with a little three-year-old brother to raise and a mother he cannot hold onto.

So like, I've been a closeted glittermask shipper for like, idk, two weeks now?? But shinyshrimp is my mvp, so like, what if I merged them? Poly Glisten isn't too out there so this could happen, right? (says the delusional idiot).

Glisten: Teagan and Tisha helped me out. Whatcha think? Razzle: You look great, Hun~? What? Feeling underdressed "Shrimpy"?

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Shrimpo and Razzle have beef. Razzle is petty. He doesn't like Shrimpo at all because he's bullied Dazzle in the past (and thinks that Glisten is too good for Shrimpo). Shrimpo hates Razzle for being whiney and smug to him (and also cuz he's slightly jealous of Razzle and Glisten's relationship). They work through these grievances as time passes, but it does take a while.

These doodles are from one of the many work parties the toons get up to. Glisten decided to doll up more than he usually does as do his dates (to mixed levels of effort lol). They all end up drinking and partying the whole night and have a blast.

Drinking makes everyone get along ig.

Yeah so some quick lore on glittermask: Glisten and Razzle have been in a relationship for a while now. They got together shortly after Glisten and Boxten broke up (on good terms btw). Razzle knows Glisten is poly and is chill with it, even if he questions the mirror's taste in men. Dazzle third wheels their relationship. but she and Glisten are friends so it's not too awkward lol.

Glittermask is everything shinyshrimp isn't. Where shinyshrimp is bickering, angst-comfort, and fighting over PDA, glittermask is a very PDA, lovey dovey, Hallmark movie-esque romance. Their only flaw is that there isn't open communication when it comes to darker problems. When Glisten is having one of his moments, Razzle does what he does when Dazzle is having one of her moments; he leaves Glisten alone. Which can be good, but it's not what Glisten needs (and what Shrimpo unintentionally excels at).

Both relationships are healthy but have flaws, like normal relationships lol. I hate when things are perfect. Make is messy! Give it ✨DRAMA✨!!

And since I'm cringe, I made a fankid! His name is Hamlet (Razzle named him) and he's a super blinged out masquerade mask. Now Shimmer has a little brother who is insanely hyperactive and attention seeking. He would throw a fit about not being served first at the dinner lol. They get along well enough, and Shimmer is happy to have a sibling, but they tend to get on each other's nerves a lot.

But that doesn't stop the only slightly messed up family. They all care for each other in their own ways, and I love that for them.
