So, listen. D&D but I’m the DM. Death’s playing against some random sweet guy who probably works in an office, who I grabbed off the street. I put Death through some harrowing near-escapes, give the other guy some adrenaline and a dog in-game, get them both hyped up and into saving kingdom Catharta Major…and then I leave.

I come back fifteen minutes later with tea and donuts. They’re staring at each other’s lips—well, Death is. The other guy’s trying. Tension in my living room is high. I’m watching death decide to quit trying to end the human race, and instead dedicate themself to helping us with anything we’ll need, for all time.

All because a twenty-sided die helped Death fall in love.

Keeper -- a short comic about an angel meeting a robotic lighthouse keeper that doesn't know the world has already ended. Made in about 18 hours for a 24-hour 24-page* black and white comic challenge (that I arrived late to, ha.)

*the actual submission does not include the cover, which was created after the fact for this post.

This was a really great learning experience as someone who's... never really made a completed comic. I ended up really attached to the story by the end of the project (possibly due to all-nighter deliriousness lol) and ultimately am very proud of what I made.There are some things I'd still like to change, particularly text placement, but in keeping with the spirit of the challenge I've elected to leave it as is.

HOW DO THEY MAKE THE SCENE GAYER?????

i have a headcanon that Yoichi trims AFO's hair because i can't help but compare AFO's nicely trimmed hair to Yoichi's and i thought someone had to have cut AFO's hair for him and it is only logical for me to assume it was Yoichi who did. I think AFO would only trust Yoichi to be so close to him with a sharp object like a pair of scissors lol

I think Yoichi would have also liked cutting his brother's hair at first, because it would make him feel helpful in a way? And I just think even when AFO put him in the vault, AFO would still go there to get his hair trimmed by Yoichi.

and once Yoichi joins the resistance, he offers to do this for Kudo as well.
