Anyway, night shift started last night and it is Serious Business. Higher acuity calls and unsafe situations (they don’t call us the Knife And Gun Club for nothing). Complicated situations. Serious, unfriendly colleagues; they’re not mean, they’re just not there to make friends like day shift. Lt Fuckin Joe, who will say zero words to you unless you’re part of his clique.

I’m gonna be so much better at my job when I get done with nights.

For now, though, it’s all about fluids and rest and studying.
