Two old farts in a haunted house? One has a kid from an old marriage, the other has a banshee x-wife who tried to kill him? Like, he meets her while trying to escape his ex and she agrees to marry him instead since her fiancé admitted to not loving her except for her money. But she needs to be married to keep the house and he wants to be human, so marriage of inconvenience but they end up liking each other and stage ghost stuff for her show. Something something he lives or she dies and we get a dramatic ending.

This may be a controversial opinion but we need to normalize and have more “bitchy” girls in media who aren’t complete assholes but labeled bitchy by everyone else because they have a rougher attitude than most people. We need more girls who don’t have to become nice by the end of the story to get their happy ending.

I don’t owe anyone niceness. I owe them respect and decency. Those things do not equate to niceness. Maybe it’s the depression talking but I cannot be upbeat and happy all the time. I shouldn’t be expected to greet everyone with a hello and a smile at my workplace. But especially in retail if you so much as say hi with a straight face you’ve got attitude or are being mean. Take it from a childhood people pleaser, I lost my sense of self trying to be nice and perfect for everyone. Doing so was one of the reasons I got so burnt out at my last job. We don’t owe you niceness.

Accidentally deleted an ask instead of replying, so I'll just make a post. The ask was about how me valuing Traveler and Childe's friendship makes my view of the character biased.

Idk, mate, I think it's impossible to separate a person from their system of relationships. Would Childe be the same character without his love for his family, his loyalty to the Tsaritsa, his fawning over Skirk and his strange obsession with the whale? I don't think so.

Maniacs and blood knights are found in media in abundance, it's his attachments that make him unique.

So why should we make his interactions with Zhongli or the Traveler an exception? Just because they can also be shipped and there have been bad OOC takes? Please.

What matters is not their *relationship* (whether the Traveler reciprocates and how exactly the result looks is left to the player), but rather Childe's ability to offer this relationship to an enemy. The strange amount of trust he shows, the reason he picks this person specifically, the way it ties into deep lore. Attachments and sympathies add depth to characters and this one adds a particularly rare kind of depth.

He saw someone who is trying to transcend their limits and possibly reality itself (someone like him) and offered his trust and admiration with no questions asked. That's incredibly beautiful and it tells us so much about him. He wouldn't be the same character without an ability to do that.

I don't think it shows my bias, I think it shows good writing on Hoyo's part. Characters sharing a story should interact and have synergy, it's not much of a story otherwise.

Sorry for the spam but I finished the Wednesday show yesterday and I have many many thoughts and feelings about it. Overall, kinda disappointed with what it ended up being but man that Wednesday portrayal by Jenna Ortega was so on point and the dynamic between Enid and Wednesday is so *chef's kiss* I'm so mad they didn't make them have a romance and instead shoed in these generic forgettable straight boys for them to chase around, they had the perfect romance right fucking there!!!

Wednesday: I don’t know what goes on with you and your knitting, but please leave me out of it.

Weems: Whatever you are about to do, I would prefer it if it results in as minimal legal trouble as possible, and it would be preferable that you don't die. That would result in a copious amount of paperwork that I would rather not have to do.

Wednesday finally felt as if she had recovered from Family Weekend here at Nevermore. The stress of them all being there at the same time was almost too much to bare. Almost. If it hadn't been for the mystery that was her father being accused of murder, she probably would have gave up on that visit halfway through.

What she had not expected was her mother sitting on a bed in her room she shared with Enid, the drawing of her and Crackstone in front of her. Her eyes gazed down at the drawing before daring to approach the older woman. She grabbed the drawing before taking it back to her desk. "I was not aware that you have the authority to search my room now that I am no longer under your roof."
